Despite her best effort, Yuu managed to avoid the trap Haruko had placed for the doll. Yuu tried to placate her by saying the hydra might be in the abyss below them. Haruko folded her arms across her chest. “Uh huh. You came to investigate a pit without telling anyone. How stupid do you think I look, Yuu?!” Haruko snapped at the doll, waving her hand to try and trap Yuu in another box to raise back to the upper platform, these walls moving faster than the first set.
“I don’t-” Yuu yelped, yanking herself upwards just in time to avoid the box, but it rose, slamming into her stomach. She was nearly carried up, winded and bruised, before she rolled off. She couldn’t fight Haruko like this. Haruko had a full 3d movement here. There was only one real option. She kept the momentum from rolling off of the box to swing right at Haruko, drawing her sword on the way. She motioned to strike as she got closer, and in one move, cut the string she swung from. In an instant, she dropped into darkness, gone in a moment.
---
Cadence stared intently at the damage her stakes did to Urnas. ...that’s it…The doll thought to herself. The fact he didn’t turn into mist indicated to her that the garlic and/or stakes had some effect on the monster. Watching him disappear into the shadows once more, Cadence commanded her Gainen once more to shield the back of her throne, while she grew a thick canopy above herself, forming a tight ball of plant matter around herself that only allowed a small rectangular hole to see out of. Some of the blood knives made it through and slice across Cadence’s arms and legs like butter. One knife managed to slash directly across the right side of her face, but the doll didn’t seem to react much to her oddly bloodless injuries.
Commanding her canopy to canopy to retract, Cadence reached into her dress pocket and pulled out her pipe once more, along with a match. She struck it against her chair, lighting the thin piece of wood and dipping it into the open end of her pipe. The doll took a large breath of smoke, and slowly let it flow out of her mouth.
“...tell me...noble...have you heard of the Bastille…?” Cadence looked up at the laughing vampire. “...It was an important fort in France...full of trained soldiers working for the king...do you know what happened to it…? 1,000 peasants...completely razed it...” Suddenly, the numerous little buds along her plants exploded in a cacophony of tiny pops, unleashing a storm of tiny yellow spores that shot across the room, the effect looking more like a sudden plant-based snow storm.
“...Sphagnum moss...uses air pressure to shoot spores over 20x higher than normal...I also added my own touch…” Oddly, the spores contained traces of garlic in each piece. Her aim was to get at least one spore into Urnas’s mouth. “...these are my 1,000 peasants…” If Cadence managed to get a spore in Urnas’s mouth or nose, she would begin growing a sharp branch inside of his throat and aim to expand outward, making a web of sharp branches that would spear any and all internal organs they came across. Cadence wanted to destroy Urnas from the inside out. If he didn’t manage to inhale a spore, the doll would attempt to direct a clump of spores toward his eyes, looking for an opening through them instead.

Jumping to his feet, Miles began walking over to the place where Kuro-san, Haigo, Falken and Marika were standing. A small twitch in his eye showed he was having a difficult time keeping his composure as they talked down to his girlfriend. Visions of himself slowly peeling away Haigo’s skin, watching him scream in agony flashed through Miles’s mind. His skin wouldn’t even be useful as garbage. Clearly it all needed to be burned in the hottest fire he could find! When he finally got near the group, Miles swept his hand to get their attention. “I agree! Is this really how you treat someone who built you a masterpiece?!” He asked, giving Haigo a glare. His eyes then shifted to Falken. Miles knew that it wasn’t smart to fight that thing, but he needed to stick up for Marika against this guy! How was the boss going to react to all this?

Dammit, Yuu, what are you doing? This is not a time nor a place to make a run for it, and leaping off the platform is certainly not the way to do it! "Haruko went after her. She brought her back once, she can do it again. We should focus on our task." Arthur opened the door, ready to charge off at the speed of sound.
What met him on the other side were the blinking eyes of Martha, a girl he didn't recognize, and the expressionless mask of the overpowered alien... Arthur cautiously let Dan out behind him and turned his head toward Martha, the only person he really knew here. "Martha, tell me you're not here for a round two. We're a bit busy now and I'd rather not fight you if I don't have to."

Callis wanted to go to see what was happening with Yuu, but the bomb Akane dropped on him was too important for him to ignore. After taking two steps towards the abyss he decided against it and turned on his heel and returned to be by her side, hugging her and caressing the back of her head. -You will never be a bother Akane.- He said with a sweet whisper on her ear. -And I won’t ever leave you.- He tightened up his hug. -No matter what.- He gently broke off the hug, cleaning up her tears with a gentle caress of his hand. -I’ll do my utmost so we can survive this awful situation and we can enjoy many years of companionship and love.- He said with a bow, scrapping every ounce of protocol training and whatever charisma he could muster to try and project confidence to help Akane’s state of mind. He smiled with loving eyes and kissed her hand while bowing. Hopefully this would at least calm Akane down. He was more than willing to remain by her side for as long as he needed, as he deeply cared for her, but in the back of his mind the voice of duty was screaming insults at him, for picking his heart over his brain for once. The Beast Knight would make that choice any time it involved Akane.
The growling deep below was gradually getting louder and changing, from guttural beast-like sounds into a maniacal metallic cacophonic cackle. -kUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkU- The purple glow that had been spread out until now gathered into a single point below Yuu and Haruko. -I smell something nice.- A lone voice echoed after the laughter. -Something tasty and juicy…- The voice was unlike anything any of them might’ve heard before, it was a deep voice that suddenly cracked at the end, as if they watched a large block of concrete fall from a great height only to shatter on impact. The bizarre voice was accompanied by a second voice that repeated everything with just a moment of lag, with a heavy metallic undertone. -I smell raw emotion… it smells so… bittersweet.- The voice seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. -Please set the table, as I’m starving.- And with that said the concentrated purple glimmer beneath the Seamstress and the Doll flickered for a second and a figure appeared right besides them, standing on thin air, with discordant purple ripples, like the visualization of an equalizer, radiating from the contact of his armored feet with the nothingness.
A humanoid figure standing around 2 mts, strangely thin, with long, slender extremities covered in a deep purple armor. The helmet resembled a snake, with it’s mouth open, baring its fangs. The armor was quite bizarre, it didn’t look like any historical style of armor, it was a mismatched patchwork of styles, haphazardly attached to each other with what seemed rifts in space, surrounded by the bizarre purple ripples in the air. It was as if the body was formed by several copies of the same body stacked within each other, only partially surfacing at time, all dressed in different clothing. It was the kind of image that makes your brain rethink if what the eyes are witnessing is truly reality. Without showing any facial features the figure talked, with its eyeless face pointed in Yuu’s direction. -Blue…- He tilted his head to the side, the helmet right side changing styles while keeping the ophidian theme. -You must taste like cold depressing ice-cream…- Even without a mouth, there was an audible tongue flicker. -I will live you for dessert.- He turned towards Haruko. -Orange and… Aquamarine?- He asked to nobody in particular. His nostrils sniffed the air, like a dog tracking it’s prey, audible but invisible. -Frustration and Concern? PB and J, I bet this is how a single mother must smell.-
As he pointed at Haruko with a clawed finger, his body shifted again, at least showing 8 different styles of armor clashing against each other and clipping against the purple ripples. -You will be my appetizer.- And with that said he dashed in the air towards Haruko, his hand aiming to grasp her neck. He wasn’t moving overly fast, not even scrapping the sound barrier, but his shift from 0 to top speed was quite drastic, accelerating in less than a blink to his full speed.
The only thing Robin could’ve taken from Goemon was the Gainen Medal he carried in a pocket inside his Gi. And she did, snatching it without alerting the Karate Star. The group lead by Z and Martha went down the stairs only to find nothing but the evidence of monster in the Maximum Security Wing. Only one of the two walkways that spread out was transitable, as the other, the one Gen and his team were running minutes earlier, escaping the Hydra, was no more, absolutely destroyed, only with some solitary broken planks still stubbornly attached to the wall or to the pitiful remains of the support structure that kept the walkway sticking to the wall. But before they could advance too much in the only walkway, a ice blue blur stopped before them, as Arthur Cromwell had flown out of the maximum security block, around 50 meters until reaching the wall and then 50 more towards the corner, encountering Martha, Z and the rest of their group.
Cadence basically one-shot killed Urnas, his arrogance was too great and her tactical acumen to calculating. The worse combination for the Vampire Nobleman. His hubris and pride blinded him about the reality of the situation, as his sadistic impulses were twisted against him, failing to realize that Cadence was stronger than him. The spores exploded in his face as he was attempting to give another uppity retort and for the mistake of not shutting his mouth and doing his job, he was rewarded with an explosion of branches blasting his face into tatters. The garlic prevented him from healing and the growth of the branches was too fast for his feeble, yet impressive (considering the damage he suffered by the initial growth) efforts to contain. He clawed at the branches, but it was no use, the plant expanded under his skin, reaching his innards and extremities, twisting his arms into gnarled mockeries of extremities, his bones snapping under the pressure, releasing grotesque wet noises as they teared into his undead flesh, ripping it apart. He was already dead.
As Urnas met his deserved end, the group led by Gen arrived to the scene, stopping to see the destroyed Vampire first, which was almost crucified in thin air, standing like a bizarre scarecrow, locked in place by the branches. Then Gen, Ichigan, Rin and Goemon all looked at Cadence and then at Industrial Poison and the four of them pointed at it and shouted as a single voice. -A GAINEN!?- They were more surprised about Cadence’s comrade than the destroyed Vampire.
-Masterpiece?- Haigo opened a large fan, covering his smirk and chuckle with it. -You call this arcane patchwork a Masterpiece?- Haigo chuckled once again, arrogance radiating from his very being in waves almost tangible. -What you see here…- He pointed at Marika’s work. -Is the kind of work a talented amateur those with little time.- He opened the fan, waving towards himself, smiling with his teethless mouth open. -In my time I’ve created things your owner couldn’t even begin to comprehend, you barking puppy.- The Renegade Mystic closed his fan with a snap over his palm. -If you could’ve seen my masterpiece, it eclipsed the sun and dwarfed the mountains, but my brother, my oh-so-righteous little brother, decided that using the carcass of a Dragon God was…- Haigo made quotations with his long jewelled fingernails. -”Distasteful”- Haigo, without Kuro-san around, didn’t feel like keeping his ego in check, especially with somebody, or to him, something, as useful as Falken around him. -So instead of getting into conversations far above your level, why don’t you go away little doggie, with your tail between your legs, and help your owner. Will you?- Haigo said with a sinister smile. -I’ll give you a treat if you behave.- The arrogance of his words was larger than the creature Marika had been working on.

Akane gained confidence from Callis' words, she nodded at him and wiped her tears, she had to get a grip!
The noise of battle below caught Musashi's attention, apparently Yuu and Haruko went down. Upon closer inspection with her visor, Akane saw the seamtress being attacked by an unknown enemy.
"Haruko! We have to help her!"- Akane said but there was no realistic way to support her mid air, she clenched her fists unable to assist her friend. Then again, they had others who could fly!"
"Arthur!...where is he?!"
Musashi saw the only other way out and ran after him.
"I'll go get Arthur, in the meantime, think of something else to help her!"
Akane dashed for quite a while and turned around the corner only to see Z accompanied by Marika's dolls.
A chill ran down her spine followed by a jolt of anger. The pain that monster had caused her, the loss of her student! That creature was not to leave this place alive!
Z looked at Arthur and stood right in his face.
"We are here for Yuu Arachnee, take us to her now"
The collector rested his hand on his blade, ready for conflict.
It was only a few moments after that he saw Akane arrive.
"Musashi, hand over Yuu Arachnee"- Z demandes. turning his eyes away from Arthur for a moment
"Arthur! Stay away from that creature, he's dangerous!"-Musashi pulled her blade and stood her ground, if Z got to the Main group while they were in the middle of a fight they could get wiped out.
"You are getting to Yuu over my dead body, monster!"
"Reasonable"- Z said as he threw a straight at Arthur out of nowhere, looking to knock him out of the way.

“It sounds like a good idea, but unfortunately the Nucleus doesn’t work that way.” Stephan explained. “It only responds to threats, and isn’t very good at synthesizing chemicals for attack. For the most part its adaptations are defensive. If I’m burned, it becomes fire resistant. If I’m punched, it thickens against blunt force. That and my eyes can adapt to see things others can’t, but beyond that I’m afraid there’s little I can do here.” He shrugged, leaning on the railing. “It’s a good prison they’ve got here. I really don’t see any way to break Reiji out.”
For a moment, Yuu thought she was home free, away from Haruko above. A slight lead was all it took to evade sight. But then sound came from below. A kunai flashed out, thread and sticky tears keeping her bound to the ceiling once more and she jolted to a stop. She could only listen as the source of the voice rose from below. The hydra spoke. Her body shuddered no matter how she tried to control it. There was something wrong. Deeply wrong. Something she knew, but buried.
No, not buried. It wasn’t like the dress you forgot you had for lack of use. It was more like a translation of a book you knew. The same, but different enough that recognizing it took effort. But the figure who appeared, walking on air, was nobody she had ever seen. She thought most of Ikari, but it didn’t talk like Ikari. “Ma-Masako!?” That was impossible. Chelsea had killed him. She had not witnessed the event, but it sounded quite thorough. But no, declaring something impossible never stopped it from happening. Another kunai on a string flashed out, seeking to stick itself to his torso before she swung over and began climbing up to him.
“Masako! I am loath to make you experience death once again, but I would kill you a thousand times before I let you touch someone I put into danger myself. Return to the grave and finally be sated!” She called, throwing herself up the string as fast as she could with one hand, other hand trying to plunge her sword through a gap in his armor on his torso.
Robin scanned the odd disk she had pulled from Goemon’s pocket as they walked. Her eyes glittered, appraising material, but the results were strange. It wasn’t anything she had seen before. Not silver or nickel or lead. Not entirely, anyway. It was an alloy, and one infused with extra stuff too. She wasn’t sure what that stuff was. Magic? Whatever it was, this thing’s market value just got higher the more she looked at it. Satisfied with her find, she pocketed it just as a blurry figure rushed around the corner. “Arthur?” Martha tilted her head before Z began aggressively demanding Yuu. “Wait, Z! This is my friend, we don’t need to threaten him!” Then she saw Dan with him. “But that one’s a problem.”
“Oh come on, you started that fight.” Dan vaulted out of the sleigh, eyes on Z. “That’s not my problem with you, you jerk!” Martha rubbed the back of her head, still sore from when he knocked her out. “We don’t have time for this. Yuu isn’t with us anymore.” Dan said before Akane came rushing up behind. “Yeah, we met him.” Dan grumbled to her. There wasn’t a whole lot of room here. He could take out Martha quickly enough if he cornered her. But the other woman he wasn’t familiar with. Her powers, her tactics, they were complete unknowns. The decision to fight, however, wasn’t made by him. Z threw a crushing punch right at Arthur and Dan was on the move.
“I’ll try to hold these two back! Get Z!” He slipped past Z, rushing right to Martha. She was distracted, reaching out for Z to stop him. A hook caught her temple, dropping her to one knee. Before Dan could follow up, Robin rushed him, first punch blocked by an elbow. “Your technique’s all off. You could both use some lessons.” His response only grazed her, a tap to the face as she sprang back, but he could see that she felt it, her nose wrinkling from the sting he put to it. “That, for example, is how you throw a pu-” Robin interrupted him with a blast of fire and force from her palm, knocking him on his ass. “Don’t condescend to me, hippie.” Robin helped Martha to her feet and Dan quickly found himself facing two very angry dolls.
Marika shuddered with rage as Haigo kept speaking. Damn that robot in the corner! If it weren’t for him, she would already be carving the old man’s kidneys loose! She bit her tongue and stewed while he spoke before finally responding. “Even an inferior craftsman can make a decent work with the best materials available. To craft a formidable weapon from the carcass of a god takes no effort and even less thought. A mere child could turn a dragon to a zombie and claim themselves a genius when it burns down his school. Let’s see you piece together the scattered remains of a thousand bodies into a single, beautiful whole as I have!” She scrabbled atop her creation, pointing at parts. “That from a tube in Uzhastale, that from my collection, that harvested just for this! You know nothing of my work, you lazy hack!”

“NO!” Haruko yelled as she watched Yuu drop down into the darkness, wanting to dive in after the doll, but knowing that it would be near impossible in the darkness. Her attention was then drawn down when she heard the metallic rumble, followed by the sound of Yuu’s kunai sticking to the ceiling. She looked on at the bizarre figure before her.
It took several seconds for her to process what was in front of herself. “Ikari…?” The seamstress asked. It seemed far too thin for Ikari, and it gave off a different, yet still hateful aura compared to him. What was this person? Haruko waved her hand to create a bright pink spotlight above herself, making her body feel lighter and speedier than before. It wasn’t a moment too soon, as the figure rushed in to try grabbing her.
Haruko dashed to the side, narrowly avoiding the creature’s claw. “Masako?” She asked when Yuu mentioned the name. “You know this guy?!” The seamstress asked exasperatedly, but diverted her attention back to the creature. With Yuu so close, it was hard to make a construct that also wouldn’t strike her. “I don’t know how you got any of that information, but you attacked me first!” And with that, Haruko waved her arm to summon 10 long neon pink spears. She then commanded them to shoot at the figure, aiming to stab in some of the normally less armored parts and away from Yuu while Haruko kept some distance.
---
Cadence’s deep green eyes watched unmoving as Urnas suffered a quick but agonizing death, not even able to gloat about his superiority at the end. The ghastly display was watched by Cadence, completely calm, even placing her pipe back into her mouth. ...waste of time… The doll thought to herself. A small smile crept onto her face when she imagined what that would do to Marika. ...maybe I can weave roots into her skeleton...puppet her body like she’s a doll… Cadence thought. She was about to move toward the door, when the sound of Gen’s group’s footsteps thundered across the hallway.
The doll turned her chair so she could give the group a sidelong glance, looking briefly up at her gainen when Gen pointed it out. ...gainen…? She thought to herself. The only other person who seemed to have any information on these creatures was the hate-filled man who awakened her medal in the first place. She’d like to get more information, but right now wasn’t the time.
Cadence extended her hand out, forcing the massive wooden arm of her golem to hold its hand out to signal everyone to stop. “...do not approach…” The doll began. Without taking her eyes off the group, she commanded the wooden branches holding up the dead vampire to move toward the others, stopping meters in front of them. “...I have business in this room...he tried to stop me…” With a sickening crack, Cadence commanded the branches to expand near Urnas’s neck, severing it from his body and rolling toward the group, face looking up at the ceiling.
“...this will happen again...if you try to follow me…” Turning her chair, Cadence motioned toward the door, ready to grip the handle and go inside.
---
Miles’s grip on the knife in his pocket tightened fiercely as Haigo kept talking. Not only was he being completely insulting and asinine, he was totally wrong! He was no doll, Marika didn’t ‘own’ him! His eyes glared at the scientist, Miles wanting nothing more than to carve an opening around this man’s entire body, and then tear away the layer of muscle and skin, leaving him a scarred piece of flesh for the rest of his life. Luckily, Marika began to talk before he could say anything, which calmed him down a little.
“What an interesting story, shame you can’t actually show anything.” He spat, walking toward Marika and leaning against a railing near her. If he decided to attack or send his robot, Miles wanted to be right there to defend his girlfriend. If only there was a way to get rid of this idiotic robot! Where was Urnas?! He seemed a little more reasonable to work with!

It didn't even take a second for potential negotiations to break down. It was like fate didn't want Arthur and Martha to have a friendly chat. This time it didn't seem like she was specifically on the offensive, rather it was Akane who showed up with apparent bad blood between her and Z. Still, if Arthur could take a bit more diplomatic option...
"Sorry, but Yuu is under our-" Z tried to punch Arthur before he could finish his sentence. The diplomatic solution was apparently off the table. Luckily, the punch was super slow. Arthur raised both arms to protect himself and created a barrier of ice, but his chair was still sent sliding from the force. He has not grown any weaker since their last encounter.
In the meantime, Dan saw the hostilities and took his chance, rushing Martha before she could react. Arthur knew underestimating her wasn't a good idea and blindsiding her was his best choice, but he still felt bad about Dan doing it. "Dammit Dan, you don't have to hurt her too bad. She's not a bad person!" Arthur told him, then focused on his own target. He made shards of ice appear around Z and launched them all at him. He remembered the alien was strong against blunt attacks, so perhaps piercing him would prove more fruitful.
"Watch out if he pulls out a sword, Akane. The blade can teleport."

Vladimir sighed as he ran out of ideas - Well, our better option is to lure the hydra to this location... The Ex-Paladin felt a strange sensation when he noticed most of his allies went into different locations. From what he recalled Yuu and Haruko jumped into the pit, while Dan and Arthur went into another direction. Something clicked onto his mind - I'll be right back
Vladimir walked at the side of the pit, he had a strange feeling over it, as if he shouldn't avoid what could happen with the two girls down there. However his attention was caught by the sound of fighting, Akane's voice was loud enough to notice that the enemy was extremely closer. Rushing towards the others, he noticed the large creature from before, listening to Arthur's words as he couldn't reach Akane faster he summoned a pentagram and sent it flying to protect her.
Mr Cromwell, what can I do? - He finally was closer enough, with spear in hand, he could be of help...

Callis didn’t hesitate. Once he was full of doubt, about himself and his values. But know he had something better to fight than just his mere honorable code. He had friends and loved ones and he wouldn’t rest until all of them were safe. Without even thinking twice he jumped over the railing speeding up as he fell. While he did, weapons in hand, Yuu and Haruko were teaming up against the Hateful Predator. Yuu’s blade hit Masako but it didn’t manage to pierce the armor, maybe it was her awkward position, or maybe his armor was just too strong. -Determination, that’s new, smells nice.- Masako replied to her attack with this comment, but that gave enough time for Haruko’s offensive maneuver to land, with greater results than Yuu’s blade. Her constructs managed to pierce through, but they didn’t sink deep, only causing superficial wounds at best, or maybe even less, as he didn’t seem to bleed, just release purple smoke from the wounds.
-Anger? No?- Once again his unseen nostrils flared up. -Desperation.- He said while licking his armored covered lips. -I think that’s desperation.- He said as his fingers wiggled, popping bones as he did. The two violet dots of light under his brow growing in intensity as he grabbed one of Haruko’s constructs, putting pressure on it, possible enough to make it crack like old concrete hit by a sledgehammer if that’s even possible. -I want to taste fear, can you give me that?- He asked as he levitated closer to them, forcibly pulling Haruko’s spears out of his body with firm tugs. -I really want to taste that.- Unlike Masako or Ikari, there was a strange and alien aloofness to his tone. He didn’t sound as demented as the Apex Predator or as scornful as the Knight of Hatred. But as he approached a faint golden glimmer appeared in between him and his prey. A large spectral golden shield with a lion head manifested out of thin air as Callis drop kicked it against Masako.
It didn’t cause any real damage, but managed to push the levitating Masako down towards the bottom of the abyss. Callis stood up after landing on the back of the shield looking at Yuu and Haruko. -Who is that?- He asked, glaring at the encroaching Masako, who stopped its momentum and resumed levitating towards the group, his eyes fixated on them. The Hateful Predator pointed at them with a finger and his whole arm twisted, taking the shape of a hydra head, springing in their direction and crashing against Callis’ shield, shattering it to pieces. The Beast Knight started to free fall.
-And we have our own fuckin’ business in that direction, so stop attempin’ to look tough or I’ll get all those branches and push them right up yer fuckin’ a- Gen started to angrily reply at Cadence comments, but Rin interrupted him, placing her hand on his shoulder and attempting to negotiate. -We won’t get in your way, we’re just looking for whoever is controlling this place so we can find my brother’s master Reiji Fukuma.- Ichigan, who was behind them suddenly had a moment of remembrance and whispered. -The Main Cell…- Goemon turned around. -Sorry Master, did you say something?- Ichigan looked a bit confused, trying to get his brain into gear. He had memories, but he didn’t remember being involved in them. But he clearly had the memory of putting Reiji in the main cell. -The old fart is in the Maximum Security Block.- Ichigan pointed at the way the came from.
-YA FUCKIN’ KNEW THAT!?- Gen shouted, losing any interest in Cadence and the Gainen, turning around to face his biological father. -WHY DIDN’T YA FUCKING SAY SOMETHIN’!?- Ichigan shook his head. -I just remembered it… but I didn’t do it… or at least I wasn’t myself when I did it.- Rin, Gen and Goemon shook their heads and started moving in the opposite direction. Ichigan lingered for a second, looking a bit cross about being shouted at. He sighed and looked at Cadence before she left. His expression changed for a second as if he remembered something and with a strangely cold voice he said. -You’re burning with hatred and putting it to good use, I approve of that, good luck green hair.- This change of demeanor only lasted for a second as he shook his head caressing his temple for a second before turning around and leaving the Green Haired Doll to her own devices.
-You are actually challenging me to a contest of necromantic might, child?- Magical energy swirled around Haigo, reacting to his anger. Kanji made of mana floated around him, like cherry petals caught by the wind. But as suddenly as that happened it stopped, the symbols vanishing as if they had burn into ashes. Haigo opened his fan hiding his face and letting out a blood-curdling chuckle full of arrogance and disdain. -I don’t need to match my might with an amateur such as yourself. Hohohohohohoho.- He turned his back to Marika and Miles. -Does a mighty typhoon match his wind against a feeble breeze?- He asked, looking over his shoulder, in a very theatrical manner. -Does a powerful volcano accept challenges from the flame on a lamp?- He turned around, looking down at them, his feet already levitating over the ground. -Or the Ocean hear the pathetic murmurs of a small muddy pond?-
-I SAY NAY!- He closed his fan with a sudden move, slapping it against his open palm, while smirking with superiority. -Any of those reasons are good enough to private yourself from receiving a masterful lesson from just witnessing my skill in play, but truth to be told, people like me don’t lower themselves to the playing field of peasants, you are merely a pawn, while I’m at the very least a gold general.- And with that shogi analogy and the echo of his laughter hanging ethereally in the air, he left the room, with Falken standing in the doorway, blocking them from following him.

"Sword that teleports?" Akane took a second look at Z, the hilt alone was all she needed to recognize the weapon, her eyes widened the moment she saw her brother's weapon on Z's hands.
"A waste of time"- Z uttered as he blocked the ice projectiles, with his arms.
"Z!" Akane used the opening created by Arthur as she jumped on the alien, striking with both blades which were also promptly stopped by the collector's armor.
"You are not worthy of that blade, give it back!"- Musashi furiously said as she attempted to push through with her blades, but it was of no use, her katana were rejected like broomsticks hitting a wall.
Z threw a front kick at Akane which she promptly dodged by jumping back and in the same movement the collector took out his blade, the blade shone as it stood in front of Akane.
"Die"- Z swung wildly and a miriad of blades came after Arthur and Akane, Musashi entered perfect warrior and parried the strikes, redirecting the blades elsewhere. Even though the attacks were done with strength and speed far beyond what she could do, there was little to no technique behind them, the blade was being used as a bludgeoning tool rather than a slicer, with each blow, the katana strikes sounded more and more like glass, the weapon seemingly crying.
"Arthur! we need to seal his movements, we must not let him use any more weapons!"-

“We are not luring a monster into the only safe part of this prison. Our first duty is to get out and report our findings here.” Stephan leaned on the railing. “Maybe we can- Mr. Nomene!?” He yelled out in shock as Callis went flying over the railing, nearly immediately swallowed up by the thick shadows below. He blinked a few times, rubbing the lenses over his eyes. Yes, he had just seen that. “Mr. Kearney, what is going on…” He moaned. “Mr. Kearney?” The paladin was gone now. Stephan was alone and confused at the center of Shirokumo Prison.
Yuu knew that feedback. Her blade hadn’t penetrated. Haruko’s attacks landed too close to her body for her taste, but she stuck tight to strike again. She didn’t get the chance, as a shining force dropped from above to add his might to their confrontation. “Callis!?” She yelled, then clung tight as her handhold was knocked deeper into the abyss. She couldn’t be mad about it. Masako needed to go. She had seen what he could do, and he seemed to have picked up even more tricks now. She was preparing another stab when Masako retaliated. Golden light shattered like glass and she saw Callis begin to fall. “Callis!” She didn’t think. She just shoved off of Masako’s body. On the end of her string, she swung, dimly wondering if her string would hold Callis’ weight along with her own.
Those thoughts were turned way by a rush of emotions when she caught him. When he held her before, she had felt the strength in his arms. Holding him, it was a very different feeling. It was impossible to find a way to do it where it wasn’t awkward. Her hand could be on his ass, or his shoulder would be pressed into her breasts, or worse, both. She was able to find a tolerable position, a bridal carry with her hand under his knees, before they jerked to a halt. They dangled underneath Masako. The line held. “You didn’t let me fall, and I deserve the darkness more than you.” She pointed up at Masako. “Akane Musashi owns your heart, but I… still have your back, Mes Nomene.”
The last time Dan had fought two dolls, they were new makes. Still uncoordinated with their bodies, getting in each other’s way. This time it was different. Neither of them was a great martial artist. Their punches and kicks aren’t as effective as they could be. But there were still two of them and only one of him. At pretty much every moment, he was taking a hit from one angle or another. He couldn’t back up or he’d run into Z, couldn’t push forward through their attacks. One of Robin’s punches narrowly missed him and he managed to catch her elbow. For a split second, he thought of his counter. Just a punch wasn’t enough. He had something better. They didn’t die unless all of their strings were severed, right?
That meant a fall wasn’t too bad, was it? He planted his feet and swung her right off of the bridge, hurling her far out over the chasm. With a look of surprise, she dropped into the abyss. “You’re gonna regret that!” Martha yelled, running up and jumping to plant her foot on his chest. He dug his own feet in and pushed back, reversing the momentum to smash her onto her back. Before she could move, his foot dropped right in the middle of her chest. “Shame you don’t have any padding there. Actually not sure if it would hurt more or less.” He was feeling sharp now that he handled half the threat. He flicked his foot forward to smash her in the chin. “Let’s have a lesson.” He straddled her, ready to pummel her into submission again.
“In physics?” She mumbled. “Martial arts.” He corrected her. “Nuh uh. Equal and opposite whatever, like Sidney says.” Dan was trying to puzzle out what the hell she was talking about when the sound of an explosion rang out and Robin’s foot met his temple. He was thrown clear of Martha, slamming right into the wall and taking half of it with him. Robin landed. Oh. Newton. Fucking Newton. Dan’s old nemesis. “I assumed you had some sort of nullifier on the pushback from those explosions.” He grumbled. “I can turn it off.” Robin turned up her foot casually and blasted him with a full shot from her sole, swamping him in fire and force.
That did it. He was gonna die. She was thoroughly sick of Haijo’s shit. Marika’s scissors were drawn and she was marching after him when he left and Falken got in her way. Her target of rage was gone, her emotional thread leading to nowhere. She froze up. She scissors slipped from her fingers to embed themselves in the floor, making little markers of where she lost it. Tears began to flow and an unearthly wail came from her lips. She collapsed utterly, lost in full meltdown mode. She squirmed and pounded the floor like a toddler, anger and humiliation that could go nowhere spilling out in a meaningless display.

Arthur's shards weren't very useful against the alien. Actually, he seemed sturdier than last time. And wasn't he faster, too? Something told Arthur it wasn't just a result of intense training in the last hour or so. Dan seemed to be having trouble, too. A part of Arthur was glad, he liked Martha and would be disappointed if she went down too quickly. But the rest of him knew this meant a tougher time for him and Akane. Luckily for them, they got unexpected backup.
"Vlad?" Arthur turned to the old paladin when he asked for instructions. "Right on time! Your help's appreciated. Assist Dan with Martha and her sister. Restrain them only, minimal violence, no killing."
A two v two should make their fight go a bit more smoothly. It meant Arthur could focus on dealing with Z. He'd need that focus, since Z started swinging his teleporting sword around like crazy, making smaller blades slash at Arthur and Akane from nowhere. Arthur parried some, twisted his body out of the way of ones that permitted it, and somehow managed to only get away with minor nicks and cuts from it all. He wasn't enjoying his reduced mobility much, so he was quite willing to even out the playing field with Akane suggested it.
The first step was blocking a blade with a frostball, mostly out of curiosity. He was curious if freezing the blade could stop it, slow it down, or even harm it. Then next step was tossing a couple of frostballs at Z, one at the shoulder of the arm swinging the blade and another below the armpit of the other arm. Hopefully slowing or even stopping his movements, he pushed himself out of his chair and soared upside down over Z's head, making an even bigger frostball to smash into the back of his neck, hopefully freezing him completely in the process.

Vlad nodded at Arthur's words and rushed towards the dolls and Dan, summoning two pentagram one was to protect the martial artist and the other to push the dolls so they stepped back. Vladimir could tell that Arthur probably was friends with them... or maybe acquaintances, somehow he knew the ice mage cared about them so the best he could do was to create enough distance to allow communication and maybe an agreement without having to restrain them either, he figured that being under the control of who created them was enough to feel even more trapped or without freedom.
I humbly ask you... three - He said as he also directed his words to Dan, to made it fair for the dolls - To stop this - He was firm on his words. He hoped they listened, and hoped to Dan don't get impulsive and throw another attac, then he motioned his face to the two dolls - I... don't know about you... but one of your siblings told me that you aren't entirely free... that you are you following this... Marika's... orders? Or are you fighting on your own...? - Vladimir kept the pentagrams, his guard ready for any attacks but he still wanted an opportunity to talk to them, all fights could be avoided with the correct words - Both your sister and Mr. Cromwell are worried about you, they cared even to ask me to don't hurt you - Even if there were half lies, half truth... He could tell Yuu and Cadence cared for their siblings but he won't tell which sister... He didn't knew them well, so keeping things a bit superficial could help him get a bit of ground and leave things to their imagination and deduce on their own... if they could. If this woman Marika was already controlling them, any kind of dialogue was in vain, and he'll have to use a spell to restrain them the same way he did to that prisoner some time before - If there is something you want to ask as well, I'm willing to talk

A frown descended across Haruko’s brow when she saw that her spears didn’t do much to Masako at all. The constructs shattered in the armored beast’s grip, disappearing into a shower of tiny glass as he taunted her. “Desperation? I am not sure I’d call it that. More like...inquisitive.” She stated. The spears were meant to test how strong this creature was, and it was about what she expected. Could they actually defeat someone this strong? A brief thought of flying back up and leaving Yuu to deal with this flashed through Haruko’s mind, but she pushed it back. That wasn’t the right thing to do.
Suddenly, Callis and his shield came flying in from above and knocked away the beast of hatred. She immediately moved to fill the beast knight into what was going on. “I don’t know how, but I think that beast from earlier got some of Ikari’s power!” The seamstress called over. Not long after, the hydra tendrils shot out and shattered Callis’s shield, sending him plummeting down. Yuu was the first to react, catching him on the way down.
Summoning a long neon pink rectangular construct directly next to where the two dangled, Haruko called down. “Yuu! Place him on there and help me deal with this guy!” She stated. There was no way she could defeat him one on one, even if she still had Yamiko to rely upon. Summoning a large amount of her mana, Haruko aimed to summon a huge 10 x 10 meter wall and send it careening toward the beast of hatred. If stabbing weapons didn’t do anything, perhaps blunt impact would. If nothing else, the force may keep him stunned for long enough for Yuu and Callis to rejoin the fight.
---
Reiji Fukuma…? Cadence thought to herself, stopping her exit to listen to the others. Perhaps there was something to be learned after all. Cadence had to stifle a sigh when they were surprised that a supposedly deadly martial artist wouldn’t be near the highest level of security. She turned toward Ichigan when he got oddly quiet, talking about when he ‘wasn’t himself’. Then his speech pattern changed entirely.
“You’re burning with hatred and putting it to good use, I approve of that, good luck green hair.” He said to her. Cadence instantly knew who spoke like that, and a chill rolled down her spine, eyes now wider than before. “...no.” She muttered to herself. Her mind flashed back to that frozen hellscape of a mountain, the night she was finally freed from Marika’s control.
-This is the Gainen your soul created Green Hair…- The Purple Flames reignited, extending from Ikari’s hand towards the creature neck, forming a tight circle, like a leash. The flames gradually turned to dark metal, just like the one in Ikari’s armor. He extended the chain towards Cadence. –Say hello to your new pet, Industrial Poison. - Alongside the chain Ikari had the medal to give it back to Cadence. –I summoned it and broke his will with my power, yet you must exert your own dominance over it to take advantage of its abilities…- The Renegade Agent’s smile grew larger and more sinister, shadows casted over his face, hiding his features except his mouth and glimmering eyes. –Try it out, let’s see how will you control it… Will you force it to remain like it is and fight alongside you? Or will you join its might with your own fusing it with your own being?-
Snapping back to reality, Cadence turned the medal over in her pocket and observed the group as they ran away back to the maximum security wing. There was no mistaking that tone; he must have some association with the Avatar of Hatred. Suddenly, one of her branches laying on the group whipped up and crashed into the wall, shattering the bark on impact and making splinters rain down upon the floor below. Cadence looked at the now-empty hallway with uncharacteristic hate in her eyes.
“I don’t need your approval. You and your ‘employer’ are the reason this has been more difficult than it needed to be!” She raised her voice, likely not loud enough for the others to hear though. Letting out a long sigh, Cadence slumped back into her chair and took a long puff of smoke, holding it in her body for what seemed like a minute before letting it out. She couldn’t lose focus now. Turning back to the door, she entered and began the final trek toward Marika and her vengeance.
---
Hatred burned in Miles’s eyes as Haigo insulted Marika, the grip on his knife tightening in his pocket. He couldn’t care less about the insults directed at him, but Marika deserved NONE of this! But like Marika, he lost the chance to do anything when Falken got in their way. At the sound of Marika’s meltdown, Miles sprung into action and wrapped his girlfriend in a tight hug.
“It’s ok, he’s gone. You’re better than him in every way possible, don’t worry.” He coo’d, petting her strangely coarse hair downward. A small smile spread across his face when he looked toward the door. Yuu wasn’t here to interfere with him and Marika. That bitch would try to steal this moment from him. Come to think of it, Yuu is taking a long time getting back. Could it be possible she was actually dead? This blissful thought hung in Miles’s head as he continued to comfort Marika.

-And I thank you for that.- Callis replied with a smile to Yuu as he lowered himself to the platform Haruko made for him. -Thank you as well Messa Miyata.- He thanked Haruko, but maybe she was busy launching a massive wall towards Masako. The Beast of Hatred charged towards it, but Callis, getting his bearings did two things to assist Haruko. Firstly he extended his spell’s area affecting everyone close-by, making them lighter and allowing them to levitate. He didn’t just affect Haruko and Yuu, but he did it as well to Masako, altering his balance. -Push the barrier as much as you can!- Callis said to Haruko as he summoned a second spell, creating another golden shield, but this time beneath the Hateful Predator, pushing him upwards towards the pink construct. The Beast Knight focused as more magical energy surged out from his body, his necklace returning to its true form, summoning a corporeal form of the Holy Grail of legend and lore. -Keep pushing.- Callis said as his eyes flooded with white light and his hair exploded out from the band keeping it tied in a ponytail, flowing above him as if he was underwater.
Several shields appeared around the first one, speeding Masako towards Haruko’s construct. The impact was enough to create a small shockwave, as Callis released his first spell on Masako on the point of impact. Clearly he was struggling to keep so many shields in place, sweat pouring down his brow, but Masako couldn’t do anything but trash around in an ineffectual way, without space to move, crushed between the construct and the shields. -Anybody has an idea about how to deal with him?- Callis asked, as his hands shivered channeling the magical energy of the grail floating in front of him. -I don’t know how much I can keep him contained, and I don’t have my old powers to handle his Gainen powers.- Masako stopped struggling and let out purple flames around him, trying to overwhelm the constructs keeping him pinned in mid-air. -I can smell your fear, I can smell your convictions, I will have a feast thanks to you three.-
Gen and his group were running down the stairs and as they entered the Maximum Security Block they ran directly into the group of Z, Martha and the Dolls facing Akane, Arthur, Dan and Vladimir. -For fuck’s sake, what the fuck is goin’ on here?- Gen shouted as he noticed their skirmish unfolding in front of his eyes. -Where is the monster?- Rin asked looking around changing her weapon from a naginata to a bow, already notching a Ki arrow, ready to shoot. Goemon didn’t even talk, he rushed into action and got in-between Robin and Dan, blocking her attack with a solid Karate Parry. He looked at both of them with a strange look. -We don’t have time for this.- He said, looking quite cross. Gen rushed without thinking as Z attacked with his sword and attempted to drop kick the alien in the back of the head. While Rin aimed at Martha with her bow, gesturing her to stop moving. Ichigan was a bit delayed, as he was just getting down the stairs.

Z's eyes narrowed when the ice projectiles stopped the flow of his movements, Akane dashed towards the collector with her blade ready to strike, she noticed Gen attempting to kick Z in the nape, so she went for a slash to the neck. The moment Akane swung Z broke free of Arthur's ice and sidestepped, parrying Akane's blade with his own and blocking Gen's kick with his arm. Musashi was about to unleash a flurry of strikes but Z sheathed his blade.
"What?!"
The collector surrendered his weapon to Akane, throwing it to her feet, he then looked past Gen towards Rin.
"I yield, lower your weapon"- Z knew that despite his speed, he wouldn't be able to tear through everyone in time to save Martha, it was better not to take the risk. Fate was on Rin's hands, if she did anything stupid it would end with the death of almost everyone in the room.
Musashi quickly picked the scabbard and set in on her waist, without a second of delay she swung at the collector's chest.
"You cannot kill me, Musashi. face reality"- Z said as Kaneshige bounced off his armor yet again.
"No...You will die by my hand. Mark my words"-Akane eased her grip and sheathed Kaneshige, even if Z was still alive, they had won this fight. putting her entire team at risk over her revenge was not the way to go.
"Gen, is everyone on your side alright? Arthur, Haruko is fighting as we speak, I would appreciate it if you back her up"- She said without taking her eyes off Z.

Yuu felt a rush as Callis’ magic flowed through her. She rocked on her heels, feeling out her lighter body. It would take some getting used to, but she couldn’t say it wasn’t useful in a situation like this. She had the least to do in a situation like this. Haruko and Callis could contain him with their magic walls, but all she had was information, and seemingly that was outdated. “When I last fought him, he was harmed by positivity, as childish as that sounds. Attacking out of rage empowered him, while a desire to help others caused actual harm. I do not know if that still holds true, but if it does, who could hurt him more than yourself?” Yuu felt the slightest tinge of embarrassment as she praised Callis.
Did it still sound like flirting? Was it still flirting? She didn’t exactly have the experience necessary to work it out. Many men in the past had thought she was flirting when she was simply trying to have a conversation. She got her mind back on task before Marika-voice could mock her for thinking about this. Deep breaths went in and out, keeping her body as calm as she could get it. If he wanted to devour her fear, he would have to try harder than that to get it. “Stand back, please.” She stepped away from Callis as tears leaked from her face and she ignited her entire body. With renewed strength and speed, she jumped, throwing a fan of kunai into the gap between the walls, aiming for his joints. Was there even anything meaningful to hit in there? She wasn’t sure, but there was only one way to test.
Robin was surprised when the flames of her explosion cleared and Goemon stood before her. In the moment it took for the fog of war to clear, she wondered if he had noticed her theft and come to retaliate. It became clear quickly that his whole gang was here. “Hell.” She grumbled, hopping out of range. “I’d follow the big guy there.” Dan grumbled, standing himself up with the wall as a support. “You were clobbering me there, no question about it. But you aren’t gonna win now.” He brushed himself off and smiled. “Thanks Goemon.” He only glanced at Goemon, keeping the majority of his attention on Robin. She raised her hands and backed up, although Martha seemed to have other thoughts. “Stop hitting my friend, he surrendered!” She yelled, lunging at Akane. Before she got there, Dan hooked the back of her shirt, stopping her with a rough tug. “Akane, knock it off. You too, Gen.” Dan didn’t flinch when Martha wheeled in his grip, fist bouncing off his bicep. She didn’t have the leverage to throw a proper punch.
She lifted a leg to kick instead, but a jerk of his arm threw her off balance. “And that especially goes for you. Your friend is trying to protect you. And I swear that if Akane keeps hacking at Z, I’ll join you two in beating her senseless… but if you try to kill her you’re going in the pit.” He didn’t relax his grip, keeping her on her toes whenever she made a big move. “...fine. Let’s talk I guess.” Martha glared at Akane. “Great.” Dan’s hand relaxed and Martha slipped free. “Look, I don’t think anybody here is irredeemable. Any friend of Arthur’s can’t be all bad.” He said, offering a hand to shake. “Well I guess it goes for you too.” Reluctantly, Martha took the offered hand and gave him a lukewarm shake. “What did I do!?” He protested, only stopped by Robin nudging him and shaking her head, gesturing at Z. “Okay yeah, later.” He sighed. Seriously though, what had he done that convinced this woman who had never met him that he was pure evil?

As instructed, Haruko poured in mana as fast as she could to make the construct stronger and more forceful. “If only I didn’t have to fight right before this…” Haruko muttered to herself. The display Callis was providing with his shields was almost baffling to watch. When did he get powers like this?
Despite both of their best efforts, Masako didn’t seem to be any closer to dying. Fear? Convictions? Hearing Yuu saying that positivity helped last time was confusing. Was it responsive to emotion? “I don’t know what that means Yuu, but I’m going to try!” Smiling, Haruko began to think happy thoughts in her head. Satisfied customers walking out the door. The look on Ariana’s face when she saw her birthday present. The look on her daughter’s faces when she returns from a business trip. She couldn’t lose any of this now!
Channeling as much mana as she could muster, Haruko pressed the construct as hard as she could against Masako.
---
Marika could barely hear Miles over her bawling, but she quieted as he stroked her hair. Soon she was reduced to only quiet sobs. “Thank you. It’s just so… so terrible. All of it.” She sniffed, hugging him. Miles continued to comfort Marika, his voice dropping down a little. “I understand. Let’s just finish this job up and we can use those parts for anything you want. You’re a painter with limitless paint now.” He cooed. His attention was then immediately drawn away when he heard the sound of the door creaking open.
Strangely, footsteps didn’t follow. The sound of smooth plant matter slinking across the floor could be heard as Cadence’s chair slipped through the door frame. Miles’s eyes grew wide with shock as he instinctively positioned himself between Cadence as Marika. “YOU!” He yelled across the room.
Marika raised her head when Miles yelled. For a second, she barely understood what she was looking at. How? How could it be her? “Cadence… kneel! Get on the ground and submit!” She commanded.
Cadence disinterestedly looked over at the two, turning the smoking pipe over in her hands. Her eyes briefly fell upon the armored man in the room, but then turned away. “...is that how you greet everyone…?” She asked, snuffing the flame out and placing the pipe in her pocket. “...but I suppose...that is the thinking of a child...why wouldn’t you own what you create…?” Cadence began to command her vines to snake across the room’s floor. “...tell me...what did you think became of me…? Was I not a...loose end…?” Her head cocked at the question.
Miles drew his knife and pointed it at the doll, beginning to walk toward her. “I sure as hell wanted to know where you went!” He yelled, ready to dismantle this doll piece by piece.
“You were… taken.” Marika whispered, face going pale. “Somebody took you from me! I’ll punish you now, and when I’m done, I’ll torture the name of whoever did this to you out, then punish them too!” She screamed, scissors falling into her hands. Her blood was running cold. Somebody out there could rip her dolls away. Cut the threads that bound them to her. They were a thief. A stinking, miserable rat. She needed to slice their fingers into tiny slices as a warning for others. The dolls were hers.
The screaming didn’t phase the doll, who looked on with the same blank expression she always wore. “...and there it is again...ownership...did you not realize owning people is wrong…?” Cadence asked, eyes turning to Marika.
“You aren’t a person. You’re art. A meat robot. You exist because of me, and it is me you exist for.” Marika snarled. “Every one of you is so fucking ungrateful. I made you. I let you display my art with your bodies. And all I get is treachery! I’m taking you back, Cadence. I have so many dresses that you’ll look beautiful in.”
Cadence’s eyes flicked over at Miles, who nodded his head in affirmation. “That’s right, you’re just walking art! So how about you just come back quietly and-”
“...and what…?” Cadence interrupted, her chair rising a few feet higher. “...so I can rejoin everyone else...trapped in the Kaspa...bending to the desires of a child…? No will of my own...no liberty...being tortured for displaying basic desires…” Cadence stared Miles down. “...if I am not a person...why not come take me back…? I’m right here…” She held out her hands, waving them back and forth. Miles glared at the doll.
“...you can’t order me anymore...I am my own master.” Cadence’s tone grew slightly deeper as she began making the plant matter around the chair cover her midsection. “...tell me...does the lion tamer fear his beloved beast when the cage fails…?” She asked, leaning forward in her chair to address the both of them.
“...I am here...to teach you the fear of losing control…”
Suddenly, the roots all around them exploded with violent force, releasing a wide cloud of pollen similar to the ones that murdered Urnas. Miles instinctively summoned his wings and flapped them backwards, sending the spores back toward Cadence. “Hah! What are you trying to pull here?!” He asked with confidence. But much to his surprise, with the cover of the spores, he was now face to face with a titan of brass.
The gainen grabbed Miles by the arms and began to lift them upward, then back. Miles let out a scream as his joints began to get stretched backwards. Marika screamed with Miles when he was tortured by the creature. She threw a razor-sharp pair of scissors right at its glassy eye, only for it to bounce off without effect. “Miles… Millessss! I can’t hurt it!” She screamed, backing up.
With another scream, Miles summoned a flurry of red petals all around him and made them explode violently, coating the area in smoke. Among the explosions, a sickening snap could be heard echoing across the room. When the dust settled, the Gainen had reappeared next to Cadence, Miles standing there with both arms limp by his sides. His eyes now glowed a demonic red.
“Miles… no.” Marika whimpered. Cadence was destroying him! Taking away the only person she didn’t make in her whole life.
“Marika...I am sorry. But I am going to destroy EVERY...LAST...PIECE of that woman!”
“...woman...what a human adjective.” Cadence commented, staring Miles down as he sped toward her on his wings.

Vladimir sighed as everyone jumped in to calm down both parties, it was good to have more people that avoided fighting. Vinishing his spear and pentagrams, the paladin just began to walk towards the secure area - We must go back, I have a bad feeling of what was inside the pit... - He said to Gen, the rest of his team and the dolls. Somehow, the idea of the charms being used against the hydra popped again on his mind... Despite Stephan was right that that place was the only safe one...

No sooner did Gan and the rest of his crew show up than Z decided to give up. He clearly didn't give up out of fear for his life, more like he gave up to keep Martha safe. He even managed to convince Akane to call down somehow. It was a really quick tide change. Unfortunately, now that he finally had a chance to chat with Martha he lost it instantly when Akane reminded him Haruko went after Yuu. He may as well go back and see if she needed help.
"Right. Sorry to leave so soon, but Akane has a point. I gotta go check how Haruko's doing. You two, please behave." He looked at Dan and Martha. "We can all catch up later. For now, we should go back to where everyone else is. I'm gonna grab Gen and go back first. We found his master, but we can't figure out how to open his cage." He turned to Gen. "Dan suggested you could use your gained energy thing to try. So get on." He offered him a frozen pod like the one Dan rode in on. Hopefully, Gen wouldn't mind separating from the others for a bit, but if he did, Arthur would just rush back on his own.
And rushing would be a good thing to do. Stephan was the only one still near the cells so Arthur would let Gen get off near him. Hopefully, he'd be willing to fill Gen in on what was going on. Meanwhile Arthur leaped over the railing to join Haruko and he was surprised to still see everyone fairly nearby. They were fighting something for sure, though they seemed to be winning for now. Turning his frozen throne into a pair of wings, he'd get closer to them and say "Hey, Akane sent me to help. Anything I can do?"
