Akane was actually surprised at the result of her attack, the wound she made was nowhere nearly as deep as she thought it would be, it would have been superficial damage at best if he had let her strike at his neck though. Musashi saw how Dan took aim for the body blow, it was only fair she took it, after all, she had doubted him and he was clearly not guilty, at least not in the way she suspected.
Surprisingly and perhaps unfortunately for her, the blow never connected, as Callis stood between her and Dan, this is when she knew she had messed up again. Akane held her breath as Callis scolded her, this was the first time she ever had any sort of problem with him and she really didn't know how to react. she sheathed her weapon with visible shame and teleported it away. Naturally, she didn't talk back to Callis, what would she say anyway? he didn't trust the way she had handled the situation and it didn't look like he wanted an explanation even if he had said so, he clearly just wanted her to stop, and so she did.
Soon after, Callis began officially deputizing people, the moment he referred to her as Messa Musashi Akane turned away and distanced herself from the group, her face was completely red as she fruitlessly tried to wipe tears off her face. She felt tired, stressed, frustrated. she just wanted to leave.
"We don't have time for you either, move out of the way"- Z told Gen as he walked past him. Z would now see what this monster was, though with their speed, he figured they should be able to still get past it and reach Yuu without much trouble.

Dan watched his skin seal up. It was weird every time, and no less so to see Callis doing it. Holy magic, eh? That was pretty weird to a guy who never gave much thought to God. The wound healed over, only leaving a pink strip of skin with no hair. He flexed his arm, throwing a few punches. It still tingled, but it was intact enough he wouldn’t have any issue hitting things. “Thanks, but I don’t think I had much choice accepting the deal.” He growled. “You don’t have any choice.” Stephan clarified. “Thanks for making it clear.” Dan grumbled. “I am sorry about that.” Yuu stepped up next to him. “What? You didn’t do anything.” “She attacked you in part because of me.” “Eh. I think she was gonna snap at some point, might as well have been then. This is getting to all of us. You know, for a second I felt good that Callis took her down a peg. I mucked up their little fairy tale romance and I felt happy about it. And now I feel like her sword should have cut me deeper, cause that’s just…” He sighed.
“Understandable.” Yuu looked at her feet. “...right. The Callis thing.” “It was momentary, just like yours. And I too feel… unpleasant for it. I thought I was ready to be happy for him. Apparently I still need to grow.” “As long as you do grow, you’re golden. I used to be jealous of every happy couple before I matured a little. That was a miserable time.” “Jealousy is simply horrible. And yet you can’t help it sometimes.” Yuu looked back at Callis once more. That wasn’t all that was eating at her.
She couldn’t get a thought of her head. The thought that had flashed through her mind when Akane’s sword flashed through the air. The idea that Dan might die because he trusted her. That it would be so great a sin that the sword would pass through him like butter. It didn’t happen, and yet she could not get the image out of her head. “Don’t be jealous of Callis. He is a wonderful man. I am sure you will find your match one day as he found his.” She slowed her pace, falling behind Dan. He looked confused, but let her go. He looked instead to Haruko and Arthur. “Uh, hey. I’m sorry for being an idiot back there. And earlier. And, uh, any other time I’ve been an idiot. I’m sure there’s lots.”
Meanwhile, Yuu fell back alongside Akane. “You know he loves you, right? Don’t doubt that because of a single fight. That’s a natural part of a relationship.” Marika-voice spat out her mountain dew, descending into a fit of sputtering. “Hey! What’s this bullshit!?” She yelled, but she went ignored. If even Marika-voice couldn’t make this decision sound bad, it was probably good.
“What!? You weren’t even the one who beat me! You just punched me a lot and that other jerk whapped the back of my head! I nearly won!” Martha readied herself. These people were chasing Cadence… but what did they actually want? Were they protecting Marika? Martha wasn’t sure that made sense. Maybe she should ask. “Uh, hey… why are you chasing Cadence? Maybe we can talk this out!” She held up her hands in a gesture of peace. Robin made no move either way. A quick sweep of her golden eyes had found absolutely nothing of value on the people facing them.
The only thing that caught her eye was the black man among them. There was something weird about him. Something… familiar? But she had never seen him in her life. She casually leaned on Z, watching the other group to see if they did anything. Might as well kick them around if they started something. Tie them up in amusing positions. Ugh, but if this place was in danger, tying them up would basically be killing them. She preferred it when she could just steal stuff without thinking too much about it. This place was the worst.

Vladimir wasn't feeling well with the current situation, the cooperation between his co-workers was slowly decaying. He felt bad for Akane, even if he understood she perfomed a dangerous movement in order to have proof of Dan's trust at the same time he would have done the same when he was younger. He inspectioned everyone again, Callis was a knight, Stephan an officer, Akane was a slayer... He didn't know what were the occupations the rest had, but everyone had a different background and different work modes so even with co-workers now being a couple was something complex that Akane and Callis may need to discuss later, when both cool down entirely.
As Callis was escolding her, he felt sorry for the samurai and not only her was at fault but bringing that up would do no good to anyone. Listening to Dan and Yuu's conversation something twirled inside of him. Doubt, Jealousy, to later discover that one ends up being too selfish and feel bad about it. Vladimir knew about those things, he talked about it with his Hidden World councelor after he got a descent job. His tress was raising and needed to be diagnosticated, but as well he was told to do therapy, which he did. However, he find it a bit... useless.
"Jealousy is simply horrible. And yet you can’t help it sometimes" Somehow, he remembered his talk with Gallerian about...
"Are you sure those two were together?" "Because I don't think Fergus was Ela's type.... like... at all"
Something was knotting his throat, he was feeling awful. Sweat became to fall down his forehead, his head became to feel light and at the same time with a severe pain.
"You know... Help me with his name" She remembered when the prince was born in January 1st. Elatha wanted him to name the boy, they were alone in the room at that time...
"After the Civil War, will you...?" Do what? What did she wanted to ask? She never finished that sentence, as well many others. She would always look away, as if she were embarrassed or if she was about to suggest a bad idea. He was getting desperate as many memories began to appear in his mind, but this time from another perspective. He wasn't even paying attention to Callis that was talking to him, everything he could hear was a buzz.
"Sorry for being an idiot"
That echoed in his mind. He snapped out of it when Callis began to explain about finding Reiji Fukuma. He tried to pretend he was paying attention, the strange sensation on his chest didn't disappear, he needed to finish the mission as soon as possible. He needed to talk with Lucille and find Derek Van Dercycle

Now that the scene between Dan and Akane was over, Haruko listened to Callis deputizing people one by one. A small wince crept across Haruko’s eyes when she saw Akane’s face as she turned away. Listening to Dan apologize to them, Haruko nodded her head slightly. “You are rash at the worst of times...but you do have good intentions. Just try to take a second and think about your actions, please?” Haruko asked, giving him a small reassuring smile.
“Well, not like I can criticize you for doing stupid stuff,” Arthur said. “But, uh, yeah. Try to think before you get in trouble that’ll hurt Qiang in the end.”
“...yeah. Keep Qiang in mind.” Dan took a few deep breaths. “That’s a good idea. You… think I should talk to Akane? Yuu’s probably got that handled, right?” He glanced back to see Yuu huddled close to Akane.
“Eventually, yeah. When everyone calms down a bit,” said Arthur. Haruko nodded her head. “I do think you should give her some space for now. One second, I’m going to see how she’s doing.” With a wave, Haruko began walking toward Akane. “Hey, Akane? Are you doing alright?” She asked, trying to show concern to the warrior.

Callis lead the group with a stern expression, using the tablet’s map to guide the group. Behind them, the constant sound of the Hatred Hydra crashing against the barrier got softer and softer, as they moved deeper into the Maximum Security Wing. He was attempting to focus on his work rather than thinking about the recent discussion with Akane. The Beast Knight felt awful for being so harsh, but part of him understood that she did something insane and he needed to act or she might do something even worse later. Since he arrived on this dimension Callis had taken to study this world’s history, as one of his old instructors back on his childhood, when he was a student of the Royal Academy of Arcane Arts in Rigel, told him that to understand the world, one should understand it’s history. Being in a new world made Callis decide that the advice could be applied to his situation so he took to reading after getting an improved translation spell cast on him.
At first, Akane’s customs and family seemed exotic and interesting, but know he realized that upholding the values of the past also came with baggage, something he himself experienced for many years and technically was actually doing right now, carrying the wishes of thousands of long-dead mystics, but he wanted to think he had broken off the chains that kept him tied down to just being a Knight, following a code of conduct from a different place and time that didn’t carry the same weight or logic in the current world. He felt that Akane was trapped in the same place as he was, more or less, raised in traditions that slowly were losing their meaning in the modern world, and even if some were good, others were blindingly short-sighted and asinine. He wanted to turn around and apologize, he wanted to tell her he was sorry for his harsh words, but if there was something that Callis knew was that scars are better teachers than bandages.
Without realizing it, he had been leading them directly to the point marked on the digital map. In front of the group, there was a massive cell, hanging over a pit, a large metallic box covered from top to bottom in omnyo charms, black papers with red ink. Chains held the cell connected to the top corners of this opening alongside the mismatched stone cells with magical barriers. -I think we have arrived at our destination.- Callis mentioned pointing at the massive metallic cell. -Now the issue is how do we get Mes Fukuma out from that thing.- The Beast Knight looked for more information about the cell while waited for the others to give their input. Way behind them the sounds of crashing armored heads against a barrier had vanished, but maybe they were too busy looking in awe at the impressive cell, that had an ominous aura around it, to notice the lack of distant blows against the barrier.
Ichigan eyed out the group and looked at Martha for a second. -Wait a minute, do I fuckin’ know ya from somewhere?- He asked, then moving to Z and asking a similar question. -And ya, tall, weird and fuckin’ ugly, I think I remember ya from somewhere... - Ichigan held his chin while thinking, tapping his foot to the ground. Goemon turned to his master. -Sensei, we don’t have time for th- Ichigan interrupted him. -Just give me a fuckin’ minute, if I don’t remember I’ll have it stuck in my fuckin’ head all day.- Gen and Rin sighed as one, realizing that this wreck of a man might be their father. Rin took the initiative. -I don’t know what’s happening down there, but as much as we consider you our enemies I recommend you don’t go that way.- The Shishioh Heiress tone was a mixture of dire warnings and concern. -Whatever is down there, you don’t want any of it.-
As Cadence kept going a voice echoed in the wooden hallway, designed following the same aesthetic design as the rest of the wing, traditional Japanese. -Finally, at long last, I can destroy one that deranged seamstress’ pitiful toys.- Urnas’ voice came from all places at once, not varying in pitch or volume, as if he was talking from every conceivable direction and distance. -I can get revenge on you stupid puppets for foiling my plans.- The Vampire exploded into action, blasting out Cadence’s shadow, armed with a long reddish dagger, clearly not made of metal, but of compressed blood and shadows tied together in an unholy Union. -Die, you pathetic mimicry of a human!- He shouted, completely ignoring the irony, as his dagger was aimed directly at the Dolls’ back.
Kuro-san entered the large workshop he gave Marika Arachne, looking around their progress. His plan was close to fruition, she had managed to speed up the process thanks to her unique talents and soon he would be ready to enact his Endgame. -Arachne-san, could you please come down for a moment, I wish to speak with you.- As always his voice was completely lacking in emotion or tone, just an efficient sentence spoken with detached ease. -There are some important elements we must discuss before you finish this commission.- As a precaution, Kuro-san already had his Gainen Medal clutched inside his hand, both hands resting crossed behind his back.

Vladimir took a look at the cell as he tried to figure out what could be done to open it up. However he wasn't as concentrated as before, the previous thoughts were invading his mind, letting him nothing but a cruel anxiety and sensation of guilt. He felt he have made a terrible mistake, something was off, but how could it be? In the past, each time he felt he was advancing and maybe get the courage to finally talk with Elatha about the status of their relationship, something happened that made him step back. The gossip, the constant differences, the many times he ended up felling he was at the same height as her or other people... I-It were signals, right? Signals to prove he wasn't worthy of such a talented and charming woman... He always felt that the more the sun shone above her, the greater the shadows covered him.
He remembered talking with his old friend Jeremy about these things, he also talked about them with Fergus. While the first one glanced at him with a serious expression, the other just smiled gently... Fergus always put a warm smile each time they talked... Something from the past popped in his head, he once talked to Jeremy about how great and caring Fergus was... but
"You should listen... carefully to him"
He said that but... Jeremy's words were more as if he was trying to say the contrary. He still remembered the expression on his face, as if something was off. Vladimir felt uneasy after remembering that, moments before Jeremy left the Kingdom with Lucille.
He needed to clear his mind, his headache was getting worse, his anxiety was growing and making him feel he had to run away as fast as he could. But why?
Maybe we should try removing these papers first - He suggested - I don't think that do it barehanded would be a good idea, but maybe with my spear or using magic would be safer. Otherwise maybe we should try to check out if there is a button or something to put the cell at ground level...

Akane stopped crying almost immediately once she heard Yuu's voice, her mind in shambles, attempting to process what the doll had really just said. Was she trying to comfort her? did she pity her? or was it just a nice gesture? why was she suddenly so insecure about everything?!
"Thanks...It's my fault really, I am just...worried about personal matters, i guess that’s why i’ve been screwing up so much lately."- She said as she finally looked at her. Akane saw how Yuu looked at Callis, she kept eyeing him from time to time, and she was the same type as, well, her.
"So, um, this might be none of my business but...did you and Callis...?"-She asked, not really having the guts to finish the sentence.
“At no point. We have worked together in the past, but… well, there are a variety of reasons it would not work out between us.” Yuu sighed.
Akane thought of the obvious ones, but it was still evident she liked him. Nothing wrong with that anyway. She sighed as well, perhaps overthinking wasn’t the best idea.
“No offense, I didn’t think it would be you of all people the one to check on me, I misjudged you, and treated you pretty badly while you were cuffed...Sorry for that, it is as Dan said, you are really a victim in all this”
“I don’t see myself as a victim. But, well… love can’t be helped. I’m sure you know that. The way Marika made me, I can no more fail to love her than you could cease loving Callis. I see it as a sign she could one day be healed. She must understand love this deep to create it, so by working with it… well, maybe one day. Maybe not.” Yuu became quiet for a moment. “I’m sorry, I went off topic. I don’t hold that against you. You didn’t trust me. You had your reasons not to.”
It made sense, doing things you don’t want to for the sake of others. Callis wouldn’t make her do something terrible, but her clan would, often did. and she fulfilled her role, she might have even enjoyed some of it at the moment only to have nightmares after for months to no end. in retrospective, she was no better than Yuu, and more of an unloved puppet compared to the doll.
“If possible, I won’t cross blades with you nor Marika. All that i want now, is to get out of this place alive”
Akane held Yuu’s shoulder with her hand and then walked away. Haruko then moved to check on her. She felt more at ease after talking with Yuu, so she finally could make the hint of a smile when Haruko asked if she was ok.
“I am not doing so great admittedly, It’s a bit embarrassing making this the first impression...I would have hoped to meet Callis’ friends someplace else...sorry about hurting your friend, i really shouldn't have done that”- She told Haruko, slightly looking away with shame.-
Haruko held up a palm to stop Akane from speaking. “Hold it! While that move was terrifying, you did do it with good intentions. And I don’t know what you’re talking about, this has been a pretty good first impression to me. I’m going to be honest with you, I’m happy Callis can be so frank with you. I’ve always had to pry some honest thoughts out of him, you know?” Haruko asked, flashing a smile.
Akane nearly cried again after hearing Haruko’s words, she took a deep breath before she could even reply
“Oh my god, you are as sweet as a sugar cube, you know that? I don’t think I’ve met anyone like that since Ann...Thanks Haruko. I want you to know this is not the usual me, there’s lots of stuff going on right now and, I haven’t even told Callis...It’s the first time we’ve ever had a problem I swear”
“Now THAT is unbelievable.” Haruko said, eyes narrowing. “Problems aren’t a bad thing, it’d get boring if you two thought exactly the same. The key is being able to work through issues. Also, no idea who this ‘Ann’, is but she sounds pretty swell.” Haruko said, folding her arms and grinning. She then used one hand to make her thumb point behind herself. “Sooooo...how about you try to patch things up with lover boy? I’m sure he’s just as eager as you to move past this.” The seamstress said, gesturing with her thumb.
“I...there’s some things he must know, but I don’t want to take his mind off this mission for now. He has a lot of problems as is, and I don’t want to become an extra burden to him. and, yes, I know, I haven’t been of much help really, but...I know he loves me, and I know he KNOWS I love him. As much as I want to tell him what’s going on, I think I’ll wait until he has time for this...he said we would talk about it later so...hopefully he won’t break up with me just yet”
Akane was evidently dodging Callis, she felt embarrassed, insecure and alone with her problem, putting those troubles onto Callis wouldn’t do him any good. She could wait. She had to.
Haruko’s eyes narrowed once more. “Waiting is acceptable, yes. But!” Haruko held up a finger. “Know that I will not let this go after all the crazy stuff happens. I don’t want this problem to just be avoided by you two. Are you prepared?!” Haruko asked, moving her arm down to point the finger directly at Akane.
Musashi in turn lifted both hands at shoulder height, a smile finally forming on her face
*so cute!*
“Alright, alright! I promise I’ll talk with him after this...Thanks, Haruko.”
Musashi gained back a bit of her confidence, she teleported back her blade and straightened herself. This was a moment to do things right.
Dan waited until Haruko and Yuu had cleared out. Come on, this wasn’t hard. It shouldn’t be, anyway. He had friendly conversations with people who did worse to him. Usually though, he didn’t have them a few minutes after they did it. A few uncomfortable, forced steps later, he stood in front of her. “...okay, this is complicated. On some level, I’m mad you took a swing at me. I’m gonna be mad for a while. But I’ve forgiven worse, and I’m trying to forgive you. On another, well… I want to apologize for being abrasive. Doesn’t excuse the sword. But I’ve been a jerk today. And, well, other things that aren’t great. And I know you’re under a ton of pressure. So… sorry?” He offered a hand to shake.
Akane hesitated for a second before shaking Dan’s hand. she shook it but still felt like clarifying some things
“You know it is not personal right? You were threatening Stephan, and though I admit I was being quite extreme, there wasn’t an easy solution, I am sorry for swinging at you, but I honestly don’t regret it, simply because now I know I can trust you...thanks still for coming here, I respect that. Perhaps it should have been me the one who tried to approach you.”
“Eh, I wouldn’t expect you to. Honestly, if I’m reading your situation right, you have a lot of reasons to never say you’re sorry. I remember the feeling from back when I still lived with my dad, that backing off was weakness. Just in the future… don’t swing swords at people if you don’t have to, okay? Even if they deserve it now, you can’t guarantee they won’t be your friend later.”
“I promise I’ll do my best, at the very least I’ll try to learn from all this…Let’s move ahead with your plan, ok? we only have some hours to make our escape”-She replied in a rather depressed tone. it was all a bit sad really, and Dan was right.
Akane realized Callis must have been particularly pissed off if Dan tried to approach her before him. not good...maybe he had finally gotten tired of her…what if he had just been enduring her all this time?
“Yeah, of course. And… ah, never mind. Let’s just handle this.” Dan didn’t feel it was necessary to air his worst thoughts here. It would only make her more upset. And it wasn’t like he could help her relationship problems anyway.
Z entertained the question, it would seem they wouldn't just let them go like that
"We don't have time for your games, Ikari. As for the creature below, we only want to go through. as long as i have line of sight to our destination, we can skip it altogether"- Z said as he showed his blade.
"Anything else?" -Z replied, his patience running thin.

Dan withdrew, just glad he had managed to talk to Akane without making things worse. That was hard enough. He looked around for Yuu to give her a thumbs up, but she wasn’t looking his way, staring into space as she circled the room. He shrugged and walked up to the railing. “Hey! Reiji! Can you hear us!” He yelled. Might as well try it.
Stephan leaned on the railing, looking out at the dangling cell. Shadows clung to the corners like cobwebs here, and Stephan felt like a prisoner himself. It was the same feeling he got at the bottom of the HWIC’s prison. He glared at it for a moment before vaulting onto the railing. The jump would be easy, but there wasn’t a clear surface to stand on. How did they normally place and remove prisoners? If he could figure that out, they could release Reiji. The thought made him uncomfortable. Even Mr. Nomene had signed onto Drake’s plan.
Everything about it wore on Stephan’s nerves. What did it mean to be an officer of the law when he was here breaking out a prisoner? Was it really worth it for the greater good? He wanted to talk to somebody, but there was nobody to talk to. Everybody was onboard with a plan that made him uncomfortable. It was his duty to handle it. “Mr. Nomene. Do you know know anything about how the prisoner is fed? Released for yard time? Anything that might help us release him?” He asked, but before Callis answered, his head was up. “Hold on. It’s quiet. What happened to the hydra?”
Yuu stopped on the other side of the cell to gaze down into the darkness. Did the barrier continued beneath them? Could they perhaps escape by leaping into the depths? Could she, in fact, do so? She looked up, listening to the others. She unfolded her old pulley, looping a thread through a kunai’s loop. If she did it right, she could lower herself safely to another level and find her way to Marika from there. She was about to make her move when she hesitated. “Callis! Could the hydra come through from below?” She called, backing away from the empty space.
“Uh, Z, that’s not Ikari.” Martha raised an eyebrow. “I mean… I don’t think he is. Hey, are you Ikari!? If you are, how did you do that with your face?” She called out to Ichigan. “If you’re Ikari, we were working with you, but now we’re not. Because we’re leaving. Oh and I think you quit too. You’re with these guys now?” Martha did her best to piece together what exactly happened with this guy, but it was very difficult. She didn’t have the kind of information she needed here. Information like somebody telling her exactly like what was going on, for example.
Marika peeped over the edge of her titan’s colossal skull, bushy purple hair nearly hiding her small face. She vanished back out of view and it was a minute before she scrabbled down, hair back in pigtails. “It’s practically finished. I hope it’s not something I’ll have to go back and fix. The code’s compiling right now, but I could make some updates if you need them. You know, uh. Today. Soon.” Marika looked behidn Kuro-san as if afraid that Ikari or Urnas would emerged from nowhere.

While the group made their way to the cell housing their (probable) ticket out of here, Akane got a visit from the three ghosts of useful advice. "I guess they told you everything you had to hear. No use for my sagely advice, so I'll just say good work clearing all that up so quickly. Usually a conversation like that would wait a few hours. Very responsible of you all." Arthur gave an exaggerated nod of approval.
"Onto, ah, differently pressing matters. I don't think that box is very easy to unwrap. I'm sure those charms aren't only stopping him from busting out, but stop others from doing it for him. I could try to disenchant them, though I'm not the most proficient at that. And I've not tried it with onmyou magic before." He poked the talismans with a tendril of mana to see if he could even establish a connection, let alone work on deactivating them.
"Stephan's right, you should see if there are clues to how they take care of him while I give this a shot." Arthur didn't let himself be distracted by Yuu pointing out the hydra was quiet. If anything, that was more of a reason to work on this asap.

When the voices began to ring out across the hallway, Cadence slowed her speed and began to try and piece together where it could be coming from. ...what did Yuu say...Josefina is a giant...and dolls are normally female...likely not this ‘Robin’...it’s not the metal martial artist… Hearing him talk about ‘puppets’ foiling his plans, Cadence decided to rule out that this way the famous Kuro-san, as he was presumably the one giving orders to Marika, who would stop the dolls from foiling anything. Unless there were people Yuu had omitted, that left only one possibility.
“...Urnas…” Cadence mumbled to herself. Unfortunately, Yuu didn’t give many details about this one. Just that he is a vampire. ...what are the powers of a vampire...turning into a bat…? His voice is...coming from all directions...likely not that...hypnotism…? If stories are correct...sunlight is his weakness...perhaps…
Taking no chances, Cadence waved her arms and sent a sharp wooden branch whipping in a half circle in front of herself, while summoning her Gainen to stand directly behind her body and unleash a wave of superheated steam in front of itself. All angles needed to be protected. The whip protected the front, her chair covered beneath, and the Gainen was her back shield. Hearing his last cry from behind herself, Cadence nodded, the steam already shooting out at the vampire.
“...get out...of my way…” Cadence said in a monotone, turning her chair to face the vampire regardless of the outcome. Poking out of the inside of her chair, small cloves of garlic began to take shape.

Callis tried to keep his head in the game, every fiber of his soul was asking him to talk with Akane, but he knew that if they didn’t hurry with the box, maybe neither of them would be alive to talk later, so he chooses to focus his energies on the problem in front of him. Still, he was unable to contain himself, sneaking a look once or twice in Akane’s direction, feeling a bit of uneasiness on his stomach. The Beast Knight fought through the awful sensation and continued circling the cell attempting to commune with the Christian Mystics inside the grail attempting to find a way to open it. Thankfully Stephan interacted with him moments before he was about to go and talk to Akane, in his current state of mind, Callis might make an ass of himself if he did that.
-Allow me to read the file.- Callis replied, attempting to access Reiji’s file, but finding his own security clearance to be too low to access the file. -I think I cannot access this file, but maybe…- Callis turned and walked a couple of steps away from the others, using his body to block his actions, typing Norio’s clearance code, that was given to him by the Head Inspector himself, allowing Callis to investigate other files during a very pressing moment of his life. Yes, Norio gave Callis his own clearance code so the Beast Knight could read in advance about Akane’s family and what not to do in front of them. “Knowing is half the battle.” said Norio to Callis, expecting him to react to the reference and finally getting disappointed when he realized Callis of all people wouldn’t get it. While Callis read, Arthur attempted to interface with the paper charms, only discovering that the charms absorbed the magical energy the applied.
-Oh… oh… oh…- Callis’ voice went from surprise to shock, to dread in matter of seconds as he read the information on the screen of the tablet-like device. -I think we might have an issue, could everyone please gather up?- He asked, waiting for the group to join him and trying desperately not to see Akane in the eyes. He was a bit ashamed about how he snapped, but he needed to focus on the mission right now, if he slipped and she died without he could ever talk to her again, that would destroy the Beast Knight. -I have bad news… and worse news- Without waiting for them to pick which, he continued. -It seems Mes Fukuma is comatose since the Sakurajima Incident, according to the files his mind is suffering a…- Callis stopped for a second to read the term and attempt to make heads or tails of it, saying it half-unsure of it he was saying it correctly. -Transdimensional Cerebral Fugue State-
He kept reading down and when he found an explanation in layman terms, something that any of them would surely ask for, he added. -It seems that whatever he experienced by opening a portal to another dimension, managed to split his mind from his body, leaving him in a comatose state, as his mind is drifting through another plane, while his body remains in stasis.- The Beast Knight turned towards Stephan. -According to this, his training with his master Nensho Hibiki is allowing him to survive without food, so they do not need to feed him.- Callis then continued with the worse news. -The cells seem to be enchanted with 4444 charms, all of them can absorb any kind of energy, terrestrial or mystical, applied to them, being magical, ki or even electrical energy, and they use them to reinforce the cell, they regularly keep powering the seals up.- Callis opened his eyes with shock. -It even absorbs kinetical energy, so it cannot be opened through brute force.-
-I do not think any of us can actually open this.- The Beast Knight lowered his head in defeat. -Maybe we are overlooking something, please, let us investigate this area.- He asked of them and hoped they would split up. With that out of the way, he decided that this was the right time to talk with Akane. -Messa....- He attempted to whisper, but then changed his mind and said. -Akane, please, can I talk to you for a minute in private?- And he invited her towards one of the corners of the room, where nobody else was.
-Who the fuck is Ikari?- Ichigan asked Z and Martha, looking at each other with confusion in his eyes. Goemon tapped him in the shoulder and said. -You were.- Ichigan turned around looking at his disciple. -What the fuck are ya talkin’ ‘bout Afro-chan?- Goemon sighed, in chorus with Gen and Rin, who were getting quite done with their father’s bullshit. -We didn’t have time to explain Master, but whoever took over this prison also took over your mind with some kind of power, you looked different and you were using the <Hatred> Medal.- Ichigan let out a snort. -Ya’re fuckin’ with me Afro-chan? The <Hatred> Medal? That fuckin’ edgelord? I’m <Battle> or nothin’, plus the old man has all the fuckin’ Medals, he wouldn’t let anybody get them.- Goemon looked a bit uncomfortable as he replied. -The JHWAB captured Fukuma Dai-Sensei, in fact that’s why we’re in Shirokumo.-
For once Ichigan was silent. He looked at Goemon with a dumbfounded expression, who simply nodded. He then turned to Gen and Rin, who also nodded and finally he let out a scream. -WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?- With manic energy he started pacing around, totally ignoring the possible danger of Z and Martha. -THE JWHAB!? SOMEBODY STOLE THE MEDALS!? WHAT THE FUCK!?- His Fighting Spirit was spiking around him, like a roaring red flame, his eyes flooded with energy, each of his steps left a burning blaze shaped like a footprint and cracks on the wooden floor. Red lines, almost like cracks in volcanic rock formed around his eyes, extending over his face. -WHAT! THE! FUCK!?- He reinforced each word with a punch against a stone wall, that sundered when hit for the third time.
Gen stepped in front of him and looked at his biological father dead in the eyes. -FOR FUCK’S SAKE! STOP BEHAVIN’ LIKE A FUCKIN’ CHILD AND GET YER SHIT TOGETHER!- The Apex Brawler looked down on his kid and without a second thought attempted to punch Gen’s face in. But Ichigan stopped the punch inches away Gen’s face, with the Hot-Blooded Brawler unfazed by this display of killing intent and fury. Both stood there silently, Fighting Spirit crashing against the Golden <Battle> Gainen Energy, like two waves in the sea. Ichigan lowered his fist, making Goemon let out a sigh of relief and Gen turned to Rin. -Talk to them, find out where their fuckin’ boss is and let’s go, I’m too fuckin’ riled up to fuckin’ talk.- Gen walked in the opposite direction to Ichigan, who stood looking at the ruined wall, cursing in whispers.
-So, who are you working for and where is he or she?- Rin asked Z, who seemed to be calling the shots in their group. -Just tell us and we’ll be out of your way.-
Urnas exploded into red mist upon being hit by Cadence’s counter, twisting and mixing with the steam as it dispersed away. The Vampire Baron reformed 10 meters away taking off his helmet, revealing his pale face, long black hair tied into a delicate ponytail with two long bangs going in front of his ears and reaching the middle of his chest. His eyes were completely red, with no distinction between iris, pupil, and sclera. Very faint red lines drew themselves from the eyes and towards his lower jaw, below his almost translucid skin. His long fangs had strands of saliva connecting each other as he opened his mouth, letting out a guttural scream. After releasing that outburst his eyes returned to regular red and his fangs retracted to a human-like size while keeping their sharpness. -I will not be denied by a patchwork toy created by a peasant woman.- Urnas spoke with contempt, spitting each word charged with poison. -I do not care what tricks you are capable of doing, I was tasked with stopping your advance and I swear on my ancestral lands that you will wither before the sun goes up.- With that said he sunk into his own shadow, vanishing from sight, while his voice was once again everywhere.
-How does it feel knowing you are the product of a broken mind? Knowing that your sole existence is a mere mockery to another life?- Once again the irony escaped the overly proud Vampire. -A puppet that cut its own strings should be motionless, don’t you think?- And his hand popped from the shadow cast by Cadence throne, but that was a mere decoy, as his actual bloody blade, dropped from above, alongside his other hand, aiming to pierce Cadence’s neck from above.
Kuro-san looked at Marika with dead eyes. -It seems everything is progressing according to the schedule.- Seeing the Forgotten Emperor’s gaze was like looking into the abyss, pure blackness, a total lack of emotion or empathy, he didn’t even look at her as if she were a tool. For him she was nothing, everything was nothing, everything didn’t have color since long ago when a drunken Ichigan Nagare, drunk with power and booze, accidentally killed his wife. -Yasumori-dono, are you ready to enact your modifications to Arachne-dono design once she finishes?- He asked to the floating renegade Omnyo Mystic. -Yes, her skills are quite impressive, even if the design of her magic is… crude.- Kuro-san nodded. -Perfect, get to work as soon as possible, I will leave a bodyguard with you.- The Forgotten Emperor snapped his fingers and a large green portal opened beside him.
Falken Degireaz walked out the portal, armed with two Kazuraba Triumphant Shotguns and without his skin simulation on, revealing his completely metallic skeleton, with one human eye and one cybernetic eye. -Protect him.- Kuro-san pointed in Haigo’s direction and the silent Cyborg nodded walking past the Forgotten Emperor and flanking the Renegade Mystic. -I hope you can finish as soon as possible Arachne-dono.- Kuro-san words had the air of a veiled threat, but without any change in his tone or delivery, it was hard to gauge if he was actually threatening the Crazed Seamstress, or if he merely stated a fact.

Vladimir payed attention to the information Callis gave... Seems these charms were harder to remove than he originally thought. Summoning pentagrams and using them like stairs, Vladimir went closer to have a better look at these charms. Magic and even normal strenght would be meaningless to remove them. But even if they managed to remove them, was there a way to heal back Sr. Fukuma. Callis seemed to have some kind of celestial magic so maybe with the help of the Ancient Book there was a chance to save the prisoner.
He went back to the ground to meet with Arthur - Mr. Cromwell, I think we should try something else... Having in mind what Mr. Nomene mentioned about these charms, I was wondering if soaking them with water will dissolve them... or something that makes the quality of the paper to decay at the point of removing the ink from them or... I don't know - He said, removing the sweat from his forehead. He was getting more stressed as time passed by - Excuse me for a moment... I'll be right back... - He said, walking to somewhere where he could be a bit alone. Taking deep breaths the man tried to relax himself,, then he proceeded to take a small box from one of the little pockets on his multipurpose belt, it was a small white marble, a driaochta medicine to heal any kind of wounds. It wasn't going to be effective since he didn't had the correct ingredients to make them but it really helped when his headaches worsened.
Taking deep breaths after eating it, he returned with the rest. It was true that things were extremely quiet... He hoped the Hydra didn't come... or wait... could these charms have some kind of limit on how much magic, energy or whatever they could take? In case the Hydra showed up again could it be engulfed by these? He decided to keep that in mind just in case...

"Thanks Arthur, even though I know I was being harsh on Dan"-she told the Ice mage.
Akane gathered up and listened to the intel still somewhat demoralized, she was ready to start looking around until she heard her name.
"Yes, Captain"-she replied in a sad tone. Callis had reminded her what her place was, so Akane followed his direction.
When Akane and Callis moved to the corner of the room she looked at him every couple seconds only to turn away, her heartbeat racing as it happened. There was a feeling of sadness on her semblance, not particularly showing anywhere, but definitely there. She held the grip of her blade tightly, something that often gave her confidence, but barely worked right now.
"How can I help?"-She said as her eyes finally met Callis. unsure of what he was gonna say to her. for all she knew, he was done with her.
"I am not working for anyone anymore, but Kuro is the one behind this operation. The last time I saw him, I believe it was at the research wing...yes."
With that, Z turned towards Martha.
"Are you ready to go? or do you have matters more important than your sister with these people?"

Yuu sighed when her question went unanswered. What was said was bleak. She looked at the box ahead of her. Reiji was kept from them by not just steal but the walls of reality itself. He was infinitely distant from them, mind set adrift. She wondered if in spirit, he was free. Did he enjoy the dimension he was trapped with? Even if he didn’t, was it better than here? He’s like the opposite of you if that’s the case. Marika-voice said. Free in soul with a caged body. Your body walks free, but you chain your soul. Yuu’s hand gripped the railing.
Prove me wrong, Yuu. Stay here. With them. Ignore that Marika is alone with a killer looking for her. Oh, wait, not alone, she has Miles. He’ll save her. Yuu’s teeth ground. She took a last glance at Callis, who she loved. At Akane, who trusted her. At Haruko, who forgave her. And at Dan, who befriended her, in his own befuddling way. None of them could make her shed her chains, it turned out. She cried a tear onto her kunai and anchored it to the wall, and without looking back, she grappled down into the depths.
Dan hunched over the railing as Callis spoke. Everything he had broken in here… it was for nothing. The man in the box was a breathing corpse, and couldn’t be released anyway. Magic, ki, every regular power source, all were accounted for. They were in the most secure place the JHWAB owned after all. Everything he had done, it was for nothing. He glanced at Stephan. The HWIC agent wasn’t looking directly at him, big buggy eyes slowly changing colors as he stared at the parts. “Really? That’s it? Just split up, look for… what exactly? The magic key they were stupid enough to keep around their most dangerous criminal?” Dan growled, but his anger faded with a sigh. “Yeah. Yeah, let’s look.” He took off towards the nearest hallway. He could use some alone time, really. Think about what this meant. He stopped halfway and spun on his heel, running to Haruko. “Haruko! That armor thing Gen does! With the medals! That’s not magic! Or ki! Or anything Callis said! I don’t think so, anyway!”
“Ikari’s kinda dumb like this…” Martha grumbled. “Yeah, old fish-eyes should be pretty close. Don’t fight him though, he’s got really tough bodyguards like Urnas and Ikari.” She blinked a few times before looking at Ichigan. “He’s got Urnas. Urnas is a vampire.” Martha said. “Nah, if they’re not picking a fight, let them go on. I don’t care if Kuro-san gets beat up, I never liked him.” She waved off the group, but Robin pushed past her, approaching the black man in their midst. “Hey! You!” She walked right up to him. Now she got it. Now she knew why he was so damn familiar.
“You’re an actor! You were in a movie my sister had! Muay Thai Man on a Mission!”
"The body is done, if that's what you're... you're changing it?" Marika blinked. "But I did what you wanted. You didn't tell me you were changing my design!" Her eyes narrowed, the bangs on her forehead rearing up like tiny serpents. She looked like she might attempt to stab Kuro before Falken stepped into reality. She quickly cowered back into submission. She wasn't fighting a robot... he didn't even have parts to collect...

Haruko listened to Callis explain that Reiji’s mind was now separated from his body, not exactly understanding how that happens, or how to join the two once more. This was all a little outside her normal life of designing clothes and acting as a salesman. Regardless, at Callis’s direction, she set off to look for clues that may help. It wasn’t long before Dan began running up to her, causing the seamstress to blink in surprise.
“Huh?” She asked. That armor Gen used was strange...was it really not magic? Her own gem girl powers used mana, so that likely wouldn’t work against a barrier against magic. Giving a smile, Haruko looked around to try and address Gen...and saw he was gone. “Ok so, I don’t know what that stuff Gen is using is exactly, but if you think so, that’d be great Dan! I’ll help transform again an-” The seamstress’s sentence trailed off when she caught a glimpse of the light coming off the tear Yuu shed. Haruko’s eyes widened, a frown quickly descending. “HEY!” She yelled out at the doll, gripping her stone and transforming back into her gem girl form.
“Dan! Ask Arthur for help! I’ll be back!” She yelled back at the fighter as she dove off the ledge. Haruko glared down at Yuu. She knew it was a bad idea to let Yuu out of the cuffs! Now she was trying to get away, probably trying to bring back other dolls! “You’re not going anywhere!” She yelled out, waving her hands and attempting to summon a bright pink platform directly under Yuu to crash into. She would then attempt to summon similar walls all around Yuu and try bringing the doll back up to the others.
---
Cadence carefully observed Urnas’s face when he removed his helmet, looking for any signs of what he could do, or a weakness. Was he using some form of regeneration, or did he just turn into mist before the steam hit him? The scream only made him seem more bestial to Cadence. His taunts didn’t change her expression in the slightest. “...product of a...broken mind…?” Cadence asked casually, inhaling some smoke from her pipe and putting the cap on to snuff it out, stuffing it into her dress pocket.
“...why should I care about my...origin…? Is it not what you...do in life that matters…?” The doll asked. “...are you not the one…” Having seen Urnas’s powers over shadows, Cadence had made mental notes of the shadows around herself. The largest shadow was behind herself, where he tried to attack before. He wouldn’t be dumb enough to try that again. Taking another glance around the room, Cadence shifted her throne sharply to the right, the bloody blade cleaving through part of her throne as she turned her head to face him.
“...who is following the orders...like a puppet…?” She asked. Commanding her plants to move, Cadence attempted to wrap them around Urnas’s hand, then attempting to spear straight through with many wooden spikes as possible. Oddly, the stakes were lightly speckled with pieces of garlic cloves she had just created. This was to test two possibilities; stakes and garlic. Cadence had read a few books on vampires in her forest home, and needed to see what rules she was dealing with here. While she attacked, Cadence began to grow a strange array of white buds all along her plants.

The paper charms were a better form of defense than Arthur imagined. He couldn't establish a connection at all. Apparently the seals could just absorb all kinds of energy and they were strengthened regularly. "So we won't just be lucky enough for them to be running out of juice, eh? Hm..."
Vlad proposed an interesting idea. "I imagine there are counters to that method, though it's certainly worth a shot. But while I can melt my ice, I can't control the water that shows up afterwards. You've got all kinds of magic though, so you should definitely try soaking them."
Though would could Arthur do then? Just as he was about to take a look around for clues, he overheard the conversation Dan and Haruko were having. His throne scooted him over to them. "Oh, really? Heh, you're on point with your ideas today, Dan. Well, I'd say I'm the fastest one here even in my current condition, so I could carry you both-" He didn't get to finish his sentence before Yuu jumped off and Haruko went after her. "Alright, Haruko's jumping down after Yuu again. We should probably hurry then. Come on." He made a floating seat like one in a rollercoaster for Dan to sit in. That way Arthur cold cart him around while he flew as fast as he could back to where the hydra used to be, and then through the hallway Gan's group ran through. And for areas too narrow for his wings, icy spider legs would be fast enough.

Being called Captain hurt Callis as much as Akane was hurt when he reverted to the Messa. The Beast Knight inner self was in turmoil as this was a situation he never faced before, he was the kind of person who liked to have prior experience before jumping into something, so in part, most of his relationship with Akane was a leap of faith, hoping for the best. He wasn’t sure how to handle the situation and the voices coming from the grail weren’t helping. Half were telling him he was living in sin and he should marry her, while the other half was saying he should give in to his basest instincts, rip her armor with his teeth and, well, you get the idea. The Beast Knight decided to speak from his heart.
-Messa…- He whispered this before changing his mind and breaking through his funk. -Akane.- His voice was considerably softer compared to when he chastised her. -I’m sorry.- Using contractions was another sign of Callis being relaxed around her. -I shouldn’t have shouted like that.- The Beast Knight rubbed his tired eyes as he talked, attempting to reduce the eye-to-eye time with Akane, as looking at her, as always, made him weak on the knees. He needed to stay strong. -I shouldn’t intrude in your traditions without a good reason and I shouldn’t have chastised you like that in front of everyone, it just caught me by surprise.- The Beast Knight was showing a mixture of shame and concern.
-Nevertheless, when one of your traditions involve bodily harm to others, please talk it over with me before enacting it, because the situation was a bit too shocking to me and you have to consider the situation.- Slowly his voice became more firm. -I understand we’re under pressure and in a bad situation, but you have been a bit too confrontational with others, they might not be as honorable as you, or of high standing, but they have risked their lives more often than once to save others.- Callis attempted to explain. -Mes Shishioh and Mes Drake might be a bit uncouth and rude, but both of them wouldn’t doubt giving their lives away for any of us, Mes Shishioh even did that for me and others once, he took an attack that might have killed any of the members of that group with his body.-
-What I want to say is…- Callis approached her, putting his hand over her shoulder and his other hand on her cheek. -I love you Akane Musashi, don’t ever doubt about it, but not everything can be fixed with a blade and not everything exists within the purview of your world view.- The Beast Knight let out a gentle smile, as he looked directly at her eyes. -I had to learn that the hard way, getting rid of my baggage from my old world so I could live in this one and you might not be a Drifter like me, but tradition can be a heavy chain, almost as heavy as mine.- Callis kept his smile. -I’m not saying you should change your ways or that your traditions are wrong, I’m only saying you should be more flexible when you talk to others who don’t share your world view.-
Callis hand went from her shoulder to the back of her neck and lowered her, gently placing his forehead against hers, his piercing pale blue eyes centimeters away from hers. -Sorry if I hurt you with my words.- He said before his attention was drawn to the others, approaching the middle of the room after Yuu jumped off. He turned to see what was happening, relaxing his grip on Akane. -What is going on?- He asked the others, as he had been putting all his focus on Akane and didn’t realize what was going on.
What Yuu would see as she dropped to the depths would be darkness with a distant purple glow. The abyss beneath the prison was magically created, through Omnyojutsu’s top tier specialties, barrier creation, and spatial manipulation, meaning that space was distorted by magic, giving the feeling that a relatively short distance to the bottom was much longer, while the barrier was basically keeping light out to create the impenetrable veil of shadows. Which beg to question, why did the purple glow shine through it? How was it that this mystical mass of darkness was being pierced by light? Strange growling sounds came from below, deeper into the abyss as the purple glow slowly vanished.
-Hey I take fuckin’ offense to tha- Ichigan attempted to reply, but was interrupted by Robin and Goemon. -So you watched Muay Thai Man on a Mission?- Goemon asked with a huge smile on his face, while Ichigan, Gen and Rin looked at him with confusion. -Did you watch the sequel? My character faces the resurrected body of his master being used by a drug lord as a bodyguard while attempting to flood the streets of Jakarta with drugs made from an elephant’s tusks.- Goemon took a Muay Thai guard. -Muay Thai Man on a Mission 2: Back from the Boneyard.- As he kept talking about movies with Robin, Rin spoke to them again. -Really, I wouldn’t go down there if I were you, there is a massive monster with purple flames and black armor, quite dangerous.- Gen looked at his sister. -Ya already told them, let’s go, we need to find the fuckin’ asshole behind all of this.- Gen then pulled Goemon away from Robin and the group continued onwards, towards Cadence’s current location.
Urnas hand attempted to turn into mistlike before, but the garlic flowers seemed to affect him somehow, reducing or negating his powers, and when he pulled his hand back he couldn’t completely transmutate into mist and the stakes left crimson lines over his pale skin. No blood came out from the wounds, but it was left mangled as he jumped away. - Say whatever you like a stringless puppet, your words will never reach a distinguished individual with noble blood such as myself.- Urnas kept with the posturing as he once again sunk deep into the shadows.
From several pockets of shadows created by the wooden beams that formed the ceiling, blood knives burst out aimed towards Cadence, accompanied by Urnas cackling laughter. The Vampire Nobleman was too arrogant to realize he was mostly outmatched against the Doll and kept stubbornly attacking, not even realizing Gen’s group was encroaching their position.
Haigo smiled. -Your workmanship shows signs of true genius, but you lack the temperance of experience Arachne-kun.- The Renegade Mystic toothless smile grew as he slowly gathered magical energy from around him, which took the form of delicate silk strings. -As a seamstress, you should understand the importance of knowing the pattern of what you plan to weave.- He pointed at his sunken eyes, that gleamed with a very dim green light. -With my eyes, I can see every pattern and understand it, even better than whoever wove it.- Haigo long fingers cracked as they moved, his long nails tracing designs in the air, attracting the delicate silken strands he created.
-The difference between savants like you and one in a century prodigies such as myself might be to third parties as thin as this string.- He said with a smile while twirling a single strand of magical energy. -But I bet you can understand, at the “level” you are, that this thin strand of silk between us is actually as vast and wide as the universe itself.- Haigo’s fingers that had been moving with calculated lethargy exploded into a flurry of activity, as he used his nails, loaded with mystical crystals to guide the strands of magic creating awe-inspiring designs floating in the air, creating strong Omnyojutsu runes without the need of paper charms, inscribing them directly over the pattern created by Marika’s Soul Stitches.
-Maybe in a hundred years, you might understand how to actually weave souls like it should be done, but I admit, your skills are adequate for somebody as young as yourself.- Haigo had been mostly silent until now, possibly keeping these words within his throat, struggling to keep them down, until he had the security of a bodyguard such as Falken protecting him. -So you don't need to worry about me "ruining" your... "cute" work"- Haigo gave her another arrogant smirk, looking down on her from the work platform and continued working.

"I’m sorry" were the first words that came out of Callis’ mouth. Akane was taken by surprise, why would he be the one apologizing? She was the one who did wrong!
"I shouldn’t intrude in your traditions without a good reason and I shouldn’t have chastised you like that in front of everyone, it just caught me by surprise."
Traditions? Perhaps the beast warrior thought acting like that was something she had to do, sure enough, some of it was her having to defend her honor, but what she did to Dan was a completely different matter.
"Nevertheless, when one of your traditions involve bodily harm to others, please talk it over with me before enacting it, because the situation was a bit too shocking to me and you have to consider the situation."
*That’s not it*- She thought to herself with sadness, a sadness she deserved in retrospective for not telling Callis before. she did not want to worry him, but it was clear the situation was eating her alive. She listened to everything Callis was saying, and couldn’t hold her tears back.
“I...I’m really sorry for not telling you earlier, I know I have been acting harsh and stupidly, It’s not about my traditions, I know what I did was wrong!”- She told him as she hugged him while crying, perhaps it was time to actually tell him the truth.
“I was injured really bad last month...my life is not in danger anymore but, the doctors told me that if i ever get seriously injured again, I might not be able to have children. Callis, I want to be your wife one day and have your kids, I have never wished for something so much in my life, and the idea of losing that is...tearing me apart, I just feel like everyone is out to get me, I don’t feel safe even at home, and this mission, It’s only making it worse for me, I wish I had told you about this sooner...but I was afraid, and I didn’t want to bother you when you already have so many responsibilities”
Had this been a year ago, Akane wouldn't have hesitated to abandon her body for the sake of duty, but her priorities had shifted, she no longer wanted to dedicate her life to her blade, she wanted a life of her own. Musashi held Callis' hand, she was visibly shaking, unsure of what Callis would even say. The beast warrior had never even spoke with her about marriage, so maybe it wasn't important to him. She let go of Callis so that he could address the mission, something had happened while they were talking.
Z walked past the group only to find nothing, easy enough, a shame they wasted so much time with those buffoons
"I'll go last, if anything happens, I can cover you both"- Z said as he pointed forward while looking at Martha so she began walking.

Yuu spooled down, eyes on the shadows below. Even her dark-adapted eyes could only do so much to pierce this magical darkness, picking up on the dim purple glow below and very little else. It was suddenly cut off by blinding pink light, a light Yuu recognized. Her feet hit a newly solid surface and she kicked off blindly, soaring from the platform before she could be caged. “Haruko! Stop! Get away from the pit!” She called, holding out her hand. Glancing back down, she saw the glow fading and heard deep growling from deep below. “I came down to investigate the underside, but I think the hydra may be below!” The excuse was reasonable enough; now she really did fear that the hydra would emerge below.
“I can have good ideas once in a while.” Dan smirked. “Ah, hell.” He watched Haruko fly off, but there wasn’t anything he could do to help her right now. “If you can get us out of here to find Gen, that’s our best plan right now!” His joy had been quickly, fiercely crushed. Yuu couldn’t be trusted after all it seemed. That mistake was at least partially on him. “Yuu jumped down into the pit! We think she’s trying to get away from us and go back to Marika.
“No, I haven’t seen that one! It really sounds amazing! Hey, do you give autographs? My sister would be really thrilled.” Robin smiled, disarming, unassuming, while her fingers worked their own magic. Her hand darted forth, undetectable as a ghost, to seek out a pocket and whatever may be within. Pickpocketing a movie star? Payday, for sure. “Huh, maybe he isn’t really Ikari, and Ikari really just got really big.” Martha scratched her chin. This big thing sounded a lot like him, after all. “Alright, see you guys! But hopefully not because that would mean we’re still here!” Martha threw them a thumbs up as her group broke away, making their way back down to the central area.
She tiptoed up to the edge of the pit and peered over. There was nothing but darkness below, a seemingly infinite abyss from which not even sound emerged. “Alright, this doesn’t look bad!” She shot across in an instant, stopping on the other side to prod at the door. “I think it’s locked… oh hey, I think I hear something!” She pressed her ear to the wall. It was an odd scraping sound, growing swiftly closer. "Locked, eh? Let me look at it." Robin burst over with a few quick blasts, checking out the structure. Everywhere was so well-guarded. It was a complete pain.
Marika’s teeth ground as Haigo spoke. She was going to kill him. No, killing him was too dignified. She would sew him onto the titan’s chest and let him take hits for it. She would even increase his surface area in all sorts of creative ways so he could cover as much as possible. Her lip curled up in a sneer, but she realized distantly that she couldn’t just attack him here, not with Kuro-san and that scary robot watching. Her lip shot out to wobble and tears overflowed. “Kurooooooo! You can’t let him talk like that! He’s a bully! And I did such a big good thing, for you, so he can’t treat me like this, right!? Right, Miles!” She looked to her boyfriend for support. If he couldn’t make Haigo stop being a dick, he could at least let her cry into his chest for a while.

Y-yeah… You’re right – He nervously said to Arthur, who left with Dan… He didn’t had the time to explain that most of his powers caused damage to his body as some weren’t part of his element… Back on Arthur’s resort he almost froze for using a fire spell at the point of losing his own temperature, the same would happen if he forced a water spell, he’ll become dehydrated…
He still had a long way to figure out what to do with the charms, water wasn’t going to be enough… That’s right! He could use water at certain point, but he needed something else, he wasn’t sure, but probably a chemical reaction could do the trick to unlock the cell.
The ex-paladin rushed to the side of the HWIC agent, he slowed down his pace before approaching him, and he didn’t want to startle the officer either – Mr. Walters? I… I have an idea… Maybe you could use acid to melt down the pentagrams, I don’t know what kind of reaction we can get if we add water to the equation, but I think is worth a try… If it doesn’t work, we shall use the charms against the Hydra and lure it to get its energy absorbed… if possible
