-I will proceed to explain the current situation… - Callis turned around to avoid facing them, a bit ashamed on how everything played out and to avoid getting flustered mid sentence by the sight of Haruko, even if he already was at the edge of his discipline thanks to every other sensorial input blaring. - Everything began a week ago when I took an assignment to capture and detain a pair of thieves… I usually avoid hunting for criminals, to me that is inviting the violence to knock on my door. - He glanced at his house and then sighed while looking to the floor his spirits near an all time low.
-But this time around I made the mistake of feeling nostalgic… yes… nostalgic for my old time in the Royal Guardsmen of Via, the Kingdom I was born in…- The Beast Knight scratched his nose a bit embarrassed. –Last week would have been more than a “Decas” (Decade) from my last day as a Guard.- Callis took some steps and moved further away from them, just rising his voice a bit to save the distance.
–I was sent by the Association of Bounty Hunters to deal with the criminals, yet my first encounter was unfruitful… you see I was trained to fight against users of mystical arts and I know how to detect them, yet the female in the duo posses powers that can be read by my usual techniques…- Callis sighed, feeling increasingly ashamed with each passing moment.
- Thus I was helpless to avoid the invisible forces that she used to push me around, I just couldn’t detect them, not through my training nor by my senses.- Callis wouldn’t even consider it but that was quite a feat, as his own sensorial traits dwarfed does of a regular human, or even a baseline Hidden World Denizen. –I followed them through Kyoto for weeks, in this city of unfamiliar sights that slowly are becoming part of my life… yet I wasn’t able to capture them, just inconvenience them.-
-I should have asked for help earlier, yet I did not want to be a bother to the people of the Association who so gladly opened their arms to me and my plight, helping me to find my way in this confusing world that is not my own.- Callis made a small pause and added. - So I thank you for coming to my aid in this dire time of need. I think that I know where they are currently located, as I can detect faint traces of the smells the attackers have one them not far away from here.-
The Beast Knight finally turned around, his blue eyes showcasing incredibly deep sadness, and bowed. –Please, join me to defeat them and bring them to justice as their sinister and heinous deeds made them deserve. I will try not to slow you down and help as much as I can, just tell me when you are ready to proceed with the mission, I will call the organization who deals with the man here so they can deal with him.-
Callis, with a bit of effort, started handling a cell-phone, a gift from the BHA. Thanks to Marvel Smith’s intervention back on X-Mas he could currently read the languages, apart from just understanding them when spoken.
Meanwhile in a nearby storage, soft music sounded as a small crowd of Akunin Shinobi worked frantically on their equipment, over them, in what would be a foreman office. Akuto and Beatrix were sitting overlooking on their henchmen enjoying each other company… to put it in an educated manner, when suddenly the door of the office was gently knocked. The criminal duo quickly put some distance between each other and ordered their clothes before inviting whoever was in the door in.
-Get right inside, is open! - Akuto rudely shouted, thus the door opened and two individuals enter. He was tall, dressed in white, black and blue, with blue hair and blue eyes. She was dressed in full grey ninja outfit with a matching bandana; she had black hair combed in three long tails. –Aoba! Reiko! Nice of you to join us! Did you manage to get their attention?- Akuto asked as he stood up and grabbed Aoba’s forearm, a gesture the other ninja returned. –Yes I think the JHWAB will be a bit too busy with the sudden uprising of drunken Kappa in Osaka to look at our operation here.-
Akuto turned to the young female Shinobi. –Reiko! So nice to see you, how is the Inazuma life treating you?- She shyly replied. –I’m doing okay aniki… but are you sure you don’t want to return to the Tokugami clan? I bet father wouldn’t mind if you return. - She smiled to him, but Akuto didn’t share the smile. –Sorry little sis, but I’m not done here… by the way…- He leaned towards her and whispered in her ear in a strange archaic dialect. “I step into my shadow, Feeling my own sorrow, Pierce it like an arrow, I cry! Come forth Spirit of the Gallows!” The change was immediate, the shy looking Reiko’s face slowly shifted from her submissive attitude into a much more aggressive one. Her left eye fully opened while her right eye was almost closed, her mouth turned into a demented grin, her face a mask of murderous joy. She hugged Akuto with childish glee. –Oh Akuto-sama… Thanks for letting Oreki out to play! Is so dark and boring in there!- She broke the hug and added with a darker tone, almost distorted. –wHo dO i nEeD tO kIlL!?-
Beatrix, who seemed disinterested of this meeting up until know stood up and looked at Reiko… or better put Oreki, with interest and surprise. She then turned at her partner who smiled smugly and muttered “I told you so” replying to her surprise. They always had discussions about how her skills were subtler than his, yet this was the first time she saw a full hypnotic state managed only from a keyword. –I admit I’m impressed Akuto, I didn’t think this was possible, but the Tokugami really know their hypnotic techniques.-
-And that’s not all sweetie, she has some skills that even I lack, but she will showcase them latter tonight, for now lets cele- but he was interrupted by another knock in the door. –Get in!- He shouted and one of the scouts arrived. –Aniki! I bring news of the raid on the Bounty Hunter house…- Akuto smiled “More good news” he thought, but he quickly realized this wasn’t the case. –Aniki, they got beaten, the red cloaked bastard had comrades to back him up, I didn’t get to close, but I think they are back up from the organization you told us about…. The BAH, was it?- Akuto looked at his henchman and sighed.
-Is the BHA… tsk, you can’t get things done sending newbies…- He started pacing until Beatrix stopped him, grabbing his arm. –Why not send your sister and Aoba with a group of your best men, I bet they will do the job and we could have more time to prepare the things for tonight’s business.- Akuto looked at her for a moment and then kissed her with passion. When they lips finally separated he added. –How I love you darling! I really do, that’s a great idea, Oreki can also get warmed up for tonight.-
The Renegade Shinobi looked at his two lieutenants. –Aoba, Oreki-chan you heard my darling, pick two sergeants and 10 of the best shinobi and confront them.- Oreki twisted her neck slowly, popping one vertebra with each small movement. –What do we do aniki!? Do we stop them!?- He looked at her and patted her head before crouching to her level and looking her right into her demented red eyes. –You fucking kill them.- She smiled and replied. –pErFeCt!-
Aoba sighed after bowing to Akuto, he followed behind Oreki and whispered to himself. –Here we go again, I hope I don’t get blood on my clothes, last time I had to threw my favorite outfit away.-

Jose offers a firm handshake in return as he says his own name in a rather straightforward fashion, “Jose.” While shaking hands, he begins to think about the initial impression he is receiving from Haruko. She is rather small in size and didn’t appear to be very dangerous to him. She also seem to be one of those people that seem to have a personality that was too big for their body. Sometimes that was a good thing, other times it was annoying. Yet, he felt she was most likely the former and not the ladder. Though she was tiny, he knew one should never judge someone by their appearance, especially if they belong to the hidden world, but more importantly if the person in question is a woman. Yet again he never underestimates anybody.
After letting go of Haruko’s hand, he just looks back Callis and hears his full explanation. Jose feels for the guy. One part of him was sad that he been away from his home for soon long. The other part begins to feel sad for himself since he never really know what its like to have a real home to return to. His house and family have been gone before he learn how to read or write. Still, Jose masks his emotions under a dense and stern expression. His face was completely serious and would only get a harder demeanor as Callis continues to talk about the criminals that he was hunting down.
By the time Callis has finish, Jose was more than ready to go catch them. Dead or Alive. Placing his hand on Callis' shoulder as a sign of his support and turning his head towards Haruko to give her a slight nod of his head that contains a short message: I’m Ready. “Let’s get going.” he said with pure determination in his voice.

Nodding her head as Callis explained his situation, slowly beginning to piece together more of what's going on. So he has been following these two criminals for weeks, and was close to catching them...but this woman somehow confused his senses and threw him off their trail. Invisible forces...could it have something to do with magnetism? Callis said he was trained to fight against magic, and she didn't know if the land where he came from had electricity, so that could be a possibility. Regardless, there would be time to face this woman and see for herself.
Normally, Haruko would have placed her hand on his shoulder and maybe given him a hug, but she was both scared of cats, and knew that if she hugged him, it'd do more harm than good. So she settled for a casual smile in Callis's direction. "Don't worry Callis, you won't be a burden to us. I came here to help you, after all. Just show us the way to the target, and we can all kick their butts together!" The battle seamstress says confidently, giving a small thumbs up.
Looking towards the street, Haruko nods her head at Jose's words. "So, where to?"

-Yes…yes…- All the conviction he had a moment a go disarmed by Haruko’s kind words, he wasn’t accustomed to this kind of treatment, even after almost a full year in this world. He timidly lowered his eyes and whispered almost too faintly to be heard. –Okay… f-follow m-m-me…- before starting to move, quite fast, through the alleyway. His steps were inhumanly graceful and silent, more evidence of his mixed heritage. With his crimson cloak billowing behind him he led the way, following his nose.
The Beast Knight followed the trail left by the attackers, surely it would take him towards the enemy HQ. To pass the time he asked, trying (something really weird for Callis) to engage his current comrades in “small talk”. –S-so Me-messa Mi-miyata… I haven’t s-s-seen y-you s-ince the p-p-p-arty at yo-yo-our hou-household…- He made a pause trying to calm himself down and speak without so much stuttering. –How are you d-d-doing? A-a-any n-n-new adve-ve-ventures?- It was very clear that Callis was making an almost supernatural effort to talk.
As Callis talked he was too distracted to notice the incoming enemies through his impressive array of senses, yet both of them were Ki users, thus any Ki users alongside Callis, if skilled enough, might be able to at least notice them getting closer. Reiko and Aoba, leading a squad of elite Akunin Shinobi were moving towards them through the roofs (That being almost part of the modus operandi of them was the reason Callis choose to lead the others at ground level) This weren’t the new recruits turned from delinquent gangs, they were the original Tokugami clan branch that split alongside Akuto, true shinobi.
-If the intelligence brought by the scouts is correct we have 3 targets.- Aoba started explaining to them as they moved, since his skills rested in leadership more than anything else, being Akuto’s right hand man he used to be the tactician in this criminal family. –The Crimson Cloaked one seems to be a great fighter, and is extremely agile. I’ll take him.- He turned to Reiko/Oreki. –You will take on the pink haired female, she seems to be handy with thrown knives I think that your skills are best suited against her.- Oreki smiled with sinister intent.
Finally he talked to the rest. –The last one is able to control Earth, keep your feet off the ground, circle around him and weaken him before getting close.- The Shinobi nodded in silence. They were very close to the enemies; hopefully they wouldn’t have detected them yet.

As he follows behind Callis, Jose couldn't help but to mentality shake his head at the warrior from another's world attempts to communicate with the young lady. Not displaying any real interest or emotion to the others, he simply remains quite as he checks their surroundings. Though, he was somewhat curious as to the reasons for the stuttering performance. Perhaps there is some awkward past history between the two of them... or perhaps this was just a natural occurrence for the guy whenever he talks with the opposite sex. Still, either way. So long as they complete the assignment with no unnecessary casualties then it should be fine.
His eyes suddenly become more alert as he begins to sense the presence of others. Turning his head, he looks back to see if he can spot anyone trailing them. Though he couldn't see the approaching foes, he could tell that the distance was getting closer and closer. Cutting off Callis and Haruko's conversation in a low tone he says, "Looks like we are going to be receiving some company soon, and not the pleasant type." Jose could have easily taken the his comrades underground with him and they could have move by a tunnel that Jose could have created for them. He figures that Callis senses would be good enough to guide them even in the earth, but sadly Jose wasn't one who could abandon an opportunity to take down some criminals. Regardless of how professional they were, their actions would warrant the same level of treatment he would give to a common gangster.
"What's the plan?" he asked his partners in a low tone, hopefully no one else could hear his words.

Being caught slightly off guard, Haruko looks back at Callis, focusing on the scenery next to him rather than his body to keep her phobia at bay. She didn't expect Callis to be this casual with her, or at least try to be. Perhaps he was getting more comfortable being around her, something she would happy to hear. "W-well...I have been mostly busy with my shop these days. But I have been doing other stuff, like investigating some crimes with my sister. It's pretty fun, oddly enough. How have you b-" Before she could finish, Jose interrupts her by mentioning that they will have company soon.
Wasting no time, Haruko begins scanning the area for ki signatures, and sure enough, she spots a few approaching their location at a surprising speed. They must be with those ninjas from earlier, as they wouldn't be making a bee-line for them otherwise. Drawing five of her normal knives, Haruko glances at Callis for a second, then to where the ninjas would be arriving from. "I'm willing to bet they are with those guys from earlier. We should keep this fight away from the public, we don't want other people getting hurt. You ready?" She asks Callis, still looking past him rather than at him.

The Beast Knight felt ashamed that his lack of concentration stopped him from detecting the incoming enemies, the ones he could clearly hear and smell right now, but he also knew that people in this world had some sort of extra sensorial ability to detect other superhuman foes, something he lacked. He heard the people of the BHA talk about “Ki” as something different from magic. Callis didn’t have time to check what “Ki” was about but he had the basics about it down. He shook his head dispelling tangential thoughts and moved into action.
-We should move to the rooftops. - Callis spoke without a second of hesitation. –Is the best way to keep the fight off the street and allow us the freedom of movement required for us to fight.- But the Beast Knight stopped mid-motion a jump towards the nearest wall and looked at Jose for a moment realizing something. –I think we should not go up after all, Mes Hernandez would be at a disadvantage if we fight so distanced from the ground and I think we need all the firepower we can muster to defeat the enemies that are coming our way.-
The Beast Knight sniffed around him and decided on a course of action. –There is a large abandoned building not far from here, it can hide our battle from prying eyes and allow enough freedom of moment…- His head turned to the right like if it was magnetized. He pointed at an alleyway nearby them. –We need to take that passage it will be the fastest way to arrive to the battlefield of our choice.- With that said he started running towards it, his crimson cloak waving behind him.
-Follow me!- Callis managed to speak in complete sentences thanks to focusing his senses away from his surroundings, the lack of the sensorial inputs from Haruko added to this steely discipline allowed him to accomplish this feat, that seemed impossible up until know.
-The Crimson Cloaked is escaping ♫ The Crimson Cloaked is escaping ♫- Oreki shouted with a sing-song voice as she executed a perfect moonsault clearing the space between two roofs. Aoba followed her being way more efficient on his movements yet not less graceful and behind them a full troop of elite Akunin Shinobi. Oreki pranced with such childish glee that seeing her could become unnerving.
Her natural agility and reflexes dwarfed the rest of the group to the point they seemed regular humans in comparison to the easy that seemed for her jump around. –Aoba-san, Aoba-san ♫ Can I kill them all? ♫- Once again she singed while running and the Sapphire Ninja replied calmly. –Yes Oreki-chan, you can kill them all, just don’t get my suit dirty again… I like this outfit…- She looked at him smiling.
-I don’t make promises stud ♫ Because when I start fighting it rains blood ♫-

Jose agrees with Callis's plan and he tries his best to keep up with Callis, though the visitor from another world was much more agile and quick on his feet them him, he could thankful use the earth to push him forward with each step he took to be able to stay at least a few feet behind the Beast Knight. As he continues to move, he couldn't help but feel a dangerous bloodlust getting ever so closer to him. It was enough to get Jose's hair to stand up in alert, but he was only reacting to the fear that random bystanders could get hurt or worse, killed, by their pursuers. Hopefully they can contain the situation at the abandon building and avoid any loses while dealing with the members of the Tokugami clan.

Haruko nodded her head at Callis's plan, still using her ki sensing abilities to see that the enemies were getting closer to them. "Right! Once we get to that building, you lead them down to the ground Jose, and I will try to keep them on the ground for you." Drawing one of her knives, Haruko shows it to Jose. "I am good at that, by the way." Putting the knife away before anyone arrives, Haruko sprints after the two warriors. She wanted to discuss more strategy with Callis, but she knew that his phobia of women would disrupt his focus and possibly lead to the group being caught prematurely, making the battle potentially spill over into the street, causing more collateral damage than there should be for this type of mission.

Callis kicked one of the side doors of the storage building, thankfully his keen nose and hearing allowed him to notice the quickest way to get into the place. The wooden door was flimsy enough for him to break through without breaking his sprint. Finally he braked screeching his boot heels on the dusty floor as he turned around. The building had a very high ceiling (roughly 7 mts) and was about 50X75 mts with concrete pillars in regular intervals keeping the girders that supported the roof in place.
-L-let’s form a circle, so we can see them coming f-from any side.- Callis stood inviting them to form besides him, trying his best not to stutter but his tactic came a bit too late as moments after they entered the building the windows (nearby the ceiling) broke as a dozen of Akunin Elite Shinobi crashed through the glass and landed after almost inhumanly synchronized somersaults. They unsheathed their weapons with blinding celerity, ready to attack.
There were 3 chain darts users, 3 archers, 3 with reinforced gauntlets with claws and finally 3 who seemed to lead them using Chokuto swords (incorrectly known as Ninjato) They were circling them, pacing around the pillars with slow and deliberate steps, ready to pounce the moment the order was given. Through the same door Callis so violently opened Aoba and Oreki entered walking slowly. The Azure Shinobi glared at them and started speaking.
- My boss is a nice guy so I will give you one chance, surrender now and leave the city or you will not leave this place alive.- His voice echoed in the emptiness of the Storage Building but that ghostly repetition of his words was interrupted by a mad chuckle. –hAhAhAhAhAhA! pLeAsE, pLeAsE, mAkE mE hApPy aNd cHoOsE tO fIgHt uS, pLeAsE, i wAnT tO dYe mY hAnDs iN cRiMsOn!!!! – Oreki sinister voice echoed even louder distorting the laughter into a cacophony of guttural metallic sounds, as it echoed in the metallic roof.

As the enemies enter the warehouse, Jose quickly tries to move to the proper position that Callis had suggested to them. The foes seem to be well train enough, being able to effortless invade and land on their feet like that, he thought. What was even more worrisome to him is the fact that they have not even bother to charge in like a bunch of brutes, Instead, they are patently waiting for orders, while also leaving no signs of any obvious openings along with their seemly perfect execution to to trap them in the middle between them. Jose prepares to launch a strike, when he suddenly hears a voice coming from the entrance that he just used a moment ago.
The first voice got him on his guard even more, but the second voice actually caught him off guard. The crazy bloodlust from the girl cause him to sweat a little for a few seconds. Jose knew people that are a little loose in the head, but she was something entirely else. He squeeze his fists tighter together as he tries to get a hold of himself. He looks around one more time and figures he should use that knew trick he has been working on.
Jose mentality commands along with putting more pressure on the ground with his feet to manipulate the earth to harden. The specific area he was affecting was a few meters below him, so no one can actually visibly see what was happening underground. Next, he begins to pushes his ki towards his feet, then further pushing it into the earth itself as it increases both his control and the strength of the minerals that he was currently commanding. Though the girl was crazy, he too wanted nothing more than to kill her in return. Yet, he wasn't going to handle that in a foolish manner. If these people want to waste their time talking, then by all means they can give me as make time as possible to prepare myself.

Sprinting into the room as well, Haruko quickly began to take in her surroundings. An unfinished building around them, with various cross beams and pillars making up the landscape. Glancing around at the enemies as they burst into the building, the seamstress quickly begins to take note of them all. Fourteen in total, twelve of which seemed to be merely underlings, while two seemed to be leading the group by being the first to speak to them. The first person's voice seemed a bit cocky for a supposed assassin, while the second's voice managed to send chills down her spine. Were they facing some kind of demon with this one?!
Taking a deep breath, Haruko calms down and looks at the male who had spoke first, then back at Callis. Placing her right hand over the side of her mouth facing the assassins to prevent lip-reading, she begins whispering to Callis. "Hey, do you mind distracting them for a few seconds when this start? I have a plan in motion right now." Quickly moving away from the beast knight, Haruko draws five knives from her coat and tosses them all towards the ceiling. All five of them, if not intercepted, would land directly on top of a 2nd story girder. It was here that Haruko would begin her ambush, should a fight break out.

Callis, too into the upcoming battle to sense Haruko, nodded and raised his arm, as if he was pointing a blade at them. –I am Callis Nomene of Via, Ensis Regulus Australis and Commander of the Western Front of the Unda Wars!- The Beast Knight`s voice echoed in the storage as a strange pressure started gathering around his extended hand, small particles of light appearing from nowhere surrounding Callis’s arm, like a spiral of light slowly moving towards his wrist. –Your demand for our surrender is not only futile but also wrong, as in this situation you don’t count with the advantage we have.-
The light finally formed into a ring spinning around Callis’s wrist shining ever more brightly with each passing second. –We fight for justice and to protect others, while you are just here to commit heinous crimes and sins!- The ring exploded into spheres that flew around the building before uniting back to Callis hand, now over his head, extended. As they spheres flew they slowly grew larger and when they combined into a cluster they quickly took the shape of a single sword, similar to the ones Callis used before, but now made of a golden crystalline substance, in a single piece.
<===NOTIO GLADIO===>
Callis pointed his blade towards Aoba and with fierce determination glowing on his eyes he finished his proclamation. –Now count up your sins!- And with that he rushed towards the Blue Clothed Shinobi. The Beast Knight charge was the signal for the enemy to move. Neither Aoba nor Oreki-chan moved as their soldiers went to intercept the rushing Callis and attack Jose and Haruko. The Chokuto wielders moved to attack Callis from three sides, hoping to encircle him and force him to stop running.
The trio of Archers started moving, one of them jumping and grabbing one of the support beams with his legs, shooting head down from above to Jose. The other climbed up an old box and as he jumped he shot, from the opposite side. The third one shot from cover, two arrows at the same time to Jose’s chest. The chain dart users charged to attack Haruko, launching their trademark weapon to the Battle Seamstress with deadly accuracy, aiming for her articulations, to hinder her movements.

Jose was keeping his feet still as he was not yet finish with the finishing touches on the special earth he is working on. Yet, that did not mean he was completely defenseless against this assault. As the arrows aim at Jose's chest approach, he swings his hand to knock away one arrow, yet the other sails right into his arm. Before he could so much as check the damage, he senses the other incoming arrows and manages to catch one of the shots in his hand, but almost right after he receives an arrow right into his side. Thankful, Jose wiliness to sacrifice his movability was not worthless as the earth underneath him was nearly done. Yet, he couldn't help but hate the length of time it took him to prepare techniques with his ki enhanced earthly materials along with the inability to use his power to manipulate anything else but his creation during the process. He was going to have to work on his control and speed, but for now, he was getting ready to unleash himself. Jose touches the ground and his special stone emerges and forms around his body, while they remove the arrows as well. Soon enough, he was cover from head to toe with a unique earth armor suit, especially around his arms. The best part about this armor besides it being a great defense shield for him, is the fact that it is also weightless to him. Thanks to joining his ki with the earth, not only was the stone armor much more durable, but it become a part of Jose's body and in turn makes it much more easier for him to manipulate the armor. In truth, it was not so much that he was supporting the amor with his physical strength, but instead with his earthly power and control. Yet, it wasn't also his defense that went up with the new outfit. Jose punches the ground with his new size earth fist and causes a few quick ground spikes to pop up in the general area of the archer, who had attacked him with the two arrows to his chest. The earthly spikes, number only a handful, grew so tall, that the very tips of the spikes even pierce through the roof of the warehouse before coming back down completely into the earth.

Smiling at Callis's speech and sudden charging at the assassins, Haruko leaps up toward the girder where her knives laid on top of. Closing her eyes for a second, she notices that only 3 of the opponents appeared to be moving toward her position, while the others were attacking Callis and Jose. But the trap was already set, and these warriors were about to walk right into it.
As she jumped through the air, the battle seamstress notices that they were tossing chain darts at her, a peculiar weapon choice indeed. Drawing two knives with wires attached from her coat, Haruko slashes down and knocks aside one of the darts, tossing the knife directly at the owner's kneecap. The second dart met a similar fate, with her knocking it aside as well and tossing the second knife at it's owner. The issue now became the third dart. Twisting her body as much as she could, Haruko manages to only get scraped across the waist by the weapon, though it still managed to open up a wound on her body. But...this was perfect.
"Got you now!" Haruko shouts as she pulls out five strings from her coat, each of them linked to the knives she had tossed up before, which were now directly below them. Pulling the strings upward, all five knives soar up toward the assassin that had injured her in a pentagon formation, slowly coming to a point that would meet at the assassin's calves, hopefully immobilizing them.

The Chokuto wielders quickly surrounded Callis, confident of their numerical superiority bringing victory to them. They were a bit out of his depth, as even if he didn’t admit it, the Beast Knight was a superb swordsman, with almost 30 years of training an experience behind his back he was a force to reckon with when it came to sword duels specially if fighting in numerical disadvantage, as years as city guard molded him into a riot suppressing tornado. Still this didn’t mean they couldn’t get a lucky shot in, or maybe they were equally skilled at him.
Their swords moved towards Callis in three different angles, a vertical slash coming from the right, a horizontal slash coming from the left and a diagonal slash about to slice the Knight’s seemingly unprotected back. The attacks were accompanied with Kiai shouts, trademark of kendo, as all of them were orthodox practitioners, even if their swords were a bit shorter. –Something I do not understand…- Callis started speaking as he jumped upwards while twisting his body. –Is the need…- With his free hand he twirled his cloak around the horizontal slash. –Of swordsmen from this land…-
The Beast Knight used his sword to parry the diagonal angled attack while being in mid air. –To shout…- Still in the air he placed his heavily armored leg in the trajectory of the vertical slash, hitting the blade’s side to force a change of direction. –As there are attacking!- The moment he landed from that complicated tumbling defense he attacked the unbalanced Shinobi with quick slashes, drawing the first blood, but as he was finishing the last attack he reacted by instinct to something behind him. His cloak hasn’t fully reverted to its original position so his back was exposed.
A sharp jolt of pain coursed his body as he discovered that the Akunin Elite behind him had an ace on his sleeve, kinda literally as he had a concealed set of claws hidden under his black clothing. All of them had a set. –Claws… I detest claws… - Callis muttered while his blood started staining the back of his old and raggedy Rigel City Guard outfit while the Akunin Elites changed their footwork, clearly showing that they weren’t just orthodox fencers… there was something peculiar on the way they moved.
The Archers smiled as their attacks were effective and kept moving around, never staying long in the same place and never touching the ground. But their smiles vanished as they saw Jose armoring up. This would make their job harder. The Earth-Shaker punched the ground packing a lot of power, but the true purpose of the offensive was to create a dozens of earthly spikers to skewer the tumbling Shinobi. It was somewhat effective as one of them happened to be on the wrong place and the wrong time, jumping just over the area of effect.
The Akunin Archer received the tip of the spike directly on the chest, destroying his armor and reaching his flesh. Still he was fast enough to diminish the damage by using his hands and legs to jump upwards, only getting a deep stab on the chest instead of being impaled. He crashed through the roof and fell flat over the now hole-ridden plates over the warehouse. His comrades in arms decided to retaliate and picked a specially marked arrow on their quivers, only recognizable to their trained fingertips.
-You will pay for that!- Shouted one of them as he shot mid flip in the air, while the other bouncing off a girder shoot the arrow from an vertical position over the now armored Jose. If the arrows reached his Earthly plate and got ineffectually pierced on it they would explode, surely giving them either time to regroup or an opening to attack.
The Chain Dart Experts were quite nimble and as Haruko deflected their weapons of avoiding them, they jumped into action. As the first dart moved dangerously close towards the one who launched, surely causing him to panic about having to do guard duty for the rest of his life, he showcased the true level of mastery with the clan’s signature weapon. He launched another chain dart with his free hand and a third one with a kick, using them to shift his weight mid air moving to the side with vertiginous speed.
As he grabbed to one of the main support girders, the second Expert managed a similar maneuver, dodging his own reflected attack while proclaiming. –You impudent wench cannot comprehend the level of our skill.- in a very archaic manner, surely by-product of being raised in the mountains throwing Chain Darts all day long instead of having a normal childhood. The third one wasn’t so lucky. As his attack hit he believed that he had the upper hand and instead of reverting to stand by like the others he launched a full assault using three darts.
His arm and legs bolted in Haruko’s direction but he never managed to complete the movement as his legs were expertly pierced by the Battle Seamstress trap, which she sprung unbeknownst to him. The Akunin Expert cried in pain as his knives pulled him downwards, making him crash land on the ground to the surprised looks of his companions.
-Honey bunny, is everything ready?- Akuto asked as he double checked his equipment. Beatrix nodded with a warm smile. –Yes darling, we had to accelerate the schedule, but we will make it, before midnight the Gem will be ours and then we will sell it to my fence and retire to a warm island… an island we will buy.- Both shared a short and sweet kiss as they prepared to storm a castle… quite literally.

Jose anticipated more arrows, but even him himself must admit that the agility and skill behind the archers was impressive. It was such a shame that they had to waste their talent like this he thought. As the arrows travel towards his location, he slides on the ground with incredible speed to avoid arrows, thanks to being able to ride the earth. After all, why risk receiving an attack when one could dodge. Even though he trusted his armor, he also never underestimated his opponents and their ability either. At the same time he earth slides away from the paths of the arrow, he trust upwards with his arms and when he stops at another point in the warehouse away from the radius of effect of the explosion goes off, he brings his arms down and into the ground. This time the earth wasn;t aim at the archer, so much as Jose himself. For when he strike the ground, he manipulate the his immediate area around him to cause the earth to launch himself like a rocket towards the archer who fired right above him a moment ago. His technique allow his specially design and dense earth amor to be use as an incredible large and fast cannon ball essentially. The force of his launch will not only send him high enough to reach the archer, but he will even escape through the roof and past the height of the surrounding buildings by a significant amount. His plan was to first hit the archer with enough brute force to defeat him, but his real goal was going to come with a little help from gravity during his return trip back into the warehouse.

Shaking her head slightly, Haruko leaps upwards and lands on a girder overlooking the two stunned ninjas. She had to admit, it was impressive how they managed to use their own weapons to dodge the attacks that were sent back at them. They had obviously been training with these weapons for a large part of their lives...it was just a shame that they were working the the enemy's side.
"You might be right, I've never tossed one of those. But I am skilled with a different kind of pointy, metal weapon, ya know?" Haruko smiles as she brings out five more knives out of her coat. While nearly impossible to tell at a distance, the nearly invisible wires attached to these knives had a light chemical compound applied to them that, when given a spark, would ignite the wires and burn anything it may come in contact with. All she needed to do was trap them in this field, and take them out from there.
Wasting no time, the battle seamstress tosses the five knives in a star pattern, using her ki to make them spread out and make a wide cage around one of the ninjas. She then tosses two explosive knives at the other ninja, planning to use the heat from the explosion to ignite her wires and set up her next attack on the other ninja.

The battle in the warehouse raged on, as Jose, turning his amazing into a cannonball-like projectile, shoots himself upwards taking one of the archers along for the trip. The Earth Shaker punched a hole through the roof, making the whole girder structure shake like a leaf in the wind, carrying the already knocked by the impact Akunin Shinobi up high into the relatively low Kyoto skyline. –What the hell was that?- The remaining Archer looked upward, through the large gap in the tin roof of the warehouse through which rays of the afternoon sun started to pour into the building, suddenly changing the placement of the shadows casted by the walls, the girders and the roof.
This didn’t seem to be an important thing at the moment, but Jose’s move would prove to have a radical effect if the warehouse kept being the battlefield for this all out brawl in the future.
Haruko caught both Chain Dart Experts flatfooted, as the previous impact of Jose had shaken the whole structure they were standing on. Her quip was not returned as they were more focused on regaining their balance, a basic for any acrobatic fighter. Their really practiced and proven skills were their undoing as they learned these skills, it was more training than instinct thus they required to focus on them rather than pulling them as a natural act. They were good but they didn’t reach the point of expertise Haruko was showcasing, as they were limited to only 4 Chain Darts, while the Battle Seamstress proved her prowess with multiple knives. Her cage was successful, stopping one of them from pulling the same move as before to avoid it, but her next offensive was halfway successful.
The Chain Dart Expert launched three of his weapons only balancing his body on a single foot. The first to arrive clashed against the first Knife, but the explosion and the lack of ki reinforcing knocked the chain dart back, entangling the other two and shooting them off-course. –Damnit!- Their weapons were formidable, but without Ki reinforcing even fighting against a Fishing Line would be difficult. The second knife, hidden by the blast pierced the Shinobi on the arm, exploding a split second later and blowing the fighter’s arm at elbow’s height. He screamed in pain as his eyes went white, falling unconscious, something quite dangerous if you are balancing up a girder, yet his training, even if worked against him before, helped him to make a last attack, a kick with the leg he was standing on.
The Chain Dart flew in a weird arch towards Haruko, normally it wouldn’t reach her, but the lack of doubts or fear granted by losing conscience was more than enough to allow the now armless Shinobi pull a high-level trick of his style and using one of the vertical girders he managed to twist the trajectory of his weapon making it take a fast shift of direction against Haruko’s back. This happened while the caged Shinobi tried in vain to break free from the ki reinforced threads around him. –Damn you girl! You may defeat us, but our Lord Akuto will destroy you!- He shouted, still defiant even in defeat.
The trio of Chokuto wielders reversed their grip as they shuffled their feet circling Callis. Their movements were curiously intertwined like some kind of complex dance, but instead of beauty or grace it transmitted blood lust and discipline, like a pack of trained hunting dogs. The technique was properly called “Shuryo Inu no Hohaba” (Hunting Dog Stride/ 狩猟犬歩幅) Like the others they were heavily trained in cooperative techniques, as the “Tori-bin o Tosshin” (Lunging Bird Flight/鳥便を突進) of the Archers or the “Yasei no Saru Noryuko” (Wild Monkey Skill) of the Chain Dart practitioners. The Beast Knight followed them not only with his eyes and ears but also with his keen instinct.
But even if he did that their movement and coordination made them seem to be a single entity rather than three individuals, as their personal bloodlust and presence blurred into a collective around Callis, a zone they called “Shuryo Shikichi” (Hunting Grounds/狩猟敷地) Soon, when they were convinced of their superiority they started attacking. For a fighter who relied so much on his senses and instincts Callis found himself in trouble, not being able to handle their almost inhuman coordination. As Jose punched a hole in the roof the Beast Knight already had more than a couple of wounds.
Their ominous silence was only interrupted by the screaming of their comrade, that they ignored as the number of claw marks and sword slashes increased on Callis’s body, making the Beast Knight start breathing heavily. –What do I do in this situation? Celatus never taught me to fight three men as one…- Callis thought his old master as he tried to make sense of their pattern, looking a weak spot in their offensive. –I feel as if I encountered something like this before.- The Beast Knight kept pushing his brain into a higher gear trying to follow their movements, slowly parrying more attacks as he accustomed to their erratic and joint movements. As they launched a triple attack, the first one since their technique started Callis finally realized it.
Their claws clashed against each other as the Beast Knight had jumped over them using his inhuman strength and agility. As he was suspended mid-air, spinning to end up face down and legs up he noticed their pattern, one circled around while the other two alternated zig-zags or diagonal movements, all of them shifted movement styles creating that confusing cacophony of styles and blending their steps into a single stream, yet they didn’t count on Callis having such jumping power. –I see your tactic now! And I will shatter it!- The Beast Knight sentenced as the sole of his feet reached the underside of a girder and launched himself down. He remembered fighting with an Unda, a creature from his world who had a similar strategy.
The only difference was that the creature truly was a single being moving six tendrils, while them were just humans and lacked some aspects the Unda had that even the roughest training can’t erase. The Beast Knight crashed in the middle of the surprised Shinobi, landing on his hands, leaving his sword spinning mid air behind him, just before launching himself down. From this handstand he pulled a windmill kick, almost in a similar style to Capoeira or Breakdancing. His armored legs connected six powerful hits, three with each leg. The first Shinobi affected by the second kick was knocked back while the others stubbornly held their ground.
-This ends now!- Callis proclaimed as he regained an upright position, but didn’t stop as while getting back on his feet he carried a lot of momentum he used to pick his falling weapon and launch a series of attacks that quickly disarmed and maimed the two standing shinobi, forcing them on their knees filled with painful cuts and stabs. –And that is how you use a sword…- It wasn’t a boast or an arrogant remark, just a fact after displaying such dazzling fencing.
Aoba was quite surprised about this result, he didn’t expect the bounty hunters to be so skilled and powerful, but they weren’t superlative, not like Oreki, who seemed too thrilled to wait and wasn’t able to control her killing instinct that want out of her body like invisible waves of sinister joy. Aoba himself was more refined that her current companion and even if his subordinates failed their assignments, orders he gave himself, he wouldn’t keep them fighting to the bitter end. So he gave the order to the remaining soldiers. –Men, fall back, Oreki-san and myself will deal with them, inform Akuto about this situation and request for backup.-
The young and deranged Kunoichi besides him couldn’t contain her joy to her that. –lEt’S pLaY bOyS aNd gIrLs!!!-

Haruko watched as her explosive knife connected with the shinobi's arm, completely severing it and seemingly knocking him out. She had to look away at the carnage, as there was no way someone in that state could attack again...right? She was first and foremost a seamstress, not a warrior. As such, seeing people suffering wasn't something she liked, and strives to only do non-lethal strikes that would impair their ability to fight later, but would still leave the person alive and have the option to perhaps change their lives. She glanced over to the shinobi trapped within her wires, and takes out three of her knives to knock him out as well, which all 3 were non explosive. The battle seamstress takes careful aim at his knees. Just as she tosses all 3 at him, one extra at his right one just in case the first missed...she felt a sudden surge of pain coming from her back, causing her to fall forward in shock. Even though she had been sensing ki signatures this whole battle, the rope dart the unconscious shinobi kicked at her was the near perfect strike for a fighter such as herself. He managed to launch it at a point where Haruko would have taken her eyes off of him, was aimed at an unusual trajectory that she couldn't immediately account the direction of, and the lifeless nature of the weapon meant her ki sensing was useless. As she fell face-first toward the ground, she quickly came to her senses and stared down at the ground below. A fall from this height would likely injure her for weeks, if it didn't kill her upon impact. She could try to break her fall using some of her wires...but the speed she was going at right now was too fast for that. There is no other option...it was time to risk it and transform, hopefully SHE wouldn't show up this time. At that moment, Haruko is engulfed in a bright white light, and her descent slows down until it was simply a floating ball of white light gracefully floating downwards. As it reached the ground, the light faded and revealed her magical girl form; Opal Song. The physical differences were pretty striking; longer hair that went down to her ankles, a different outfit, her body being much taller than her normal short stature, and an odd upbeat music track playing quietly in the background as she looked over at Callis. "Don't worry Callis, it's still just me, Haruko. Let's just say I got a few...magical powers since we last fought together." Internally, Haruko was relieved that she managed to transform into her intended form, and not...her. Adjusting her headphones, Haruko stares down the two commanding shinobi. "So, you ready to get started or what?"Oddly enough, the rope dart that had been lodged in her back was now dangling at the end of the rope it was on, still covered in her blood. It was obvious that when she exited this form, that wound would need to be attended to.
