Becky placed her painting aside and excitedly grabbed more paper. She paused when she saw Arthur's painting. She stared at it, turning her head to look at it from other angles. She wasn't sure why it was so fascinating until something clicked deep in her brain. "Ood!" She yelped, putting a finger to her forehead. She instantly began working on her own image. Black and green she splattered on her canvas, until there was another vague image, a little bit more readable than her other. It was all black at the bottom, with another burst of black at the top. In between there was an oval of tan with twoo big green blobs. She again loudly announced her creation, shoving it at Arthur's face.

Arthur took the drawing the girl shoved in his face and looked at it. She apparently wasn't any more artistically gifted then he was. But at least she was trying.
"Can I keep it?" Arthur put the drawing to his chest, hoping she would understand what he wanted.

Becky stared at Arthur's gesture, trying to decipher it. She finally shrugged and looked away. She guessed he would have it now. That didn't mean much to her. Property was really not something that existed in her world. You owned what you could defend. And she didn't care to defend a painting. She could look at it regardless of ownership.

It seemed the girl didn't mind Arthur keeping her drawing. Wonderful. So they could continue their little drawing session. It was certainly useful to kill some tome, but they eventually got bored. Or at least Arthur did. There are only so many things an adult with limited drawing skills can draw, especially in the presence of children.
He got up and stretched, then went over to the couch and started playing a fighting game on his gaming console. That way he could keep an eye on the girls and still not die of boredom.

Becky watched Arthur moving away intently. When he sat down and noises began coming from the tv, she ran over and jumped onto the couch, sitting up on the back rest to stare at the source of the strange sound. It was all a mess of flashy lights and yelling and crashes. She didn't even recognize the human form among the auditory and visual complexity. She looked at the controller in Arthur's hands. Was that what controlled this madness? What a powerful creature! No wonder his territory seemed so large! She snuggled up next to him to watch the carnage, eventually picking out people. Now she was even more confused by it!

The girl decided to watch Arthur's playing. She seemed quite impressed by what she saw. Of course, Arthur wasn't quite sure how much of what she saw she understood exactly. Probably not much. But would she understand it better if she got to experience playing the game? Playing wasn't too hard to understand, it was just pressing buttons. And someone her age should fairly quickly figure out what causes health bars to go down and that they mean loss or victory.
After finishing the match he was playing, he offered the girl the controller. If she took it, he would bring her attention between the controller, where he would press a button, and the screen, which would show the result of the press. He hoped that would help her figure out what each button did.
Not wanting to be left out, Hazel packed up her drawing supplies and snuggled up on Arthur's other side.

Becky gently took the controller, feeling it all over. She didn't like the textures. Hard and smooth and unnatural. Wrong like everything else she had touched today. She was getting far too used to it. "Uk uk uk." She clucked, wiggling the sticks. Textures aside, she liked the clickity clack of the buttons and sticks. She moved them for quite a while before even noticing that they seemed to actually do something. She copied Arthur, pressing the same button to select her character.
She pressed it again when she saw the screen change to the chosen stage and her eyes widened when she saw her character throw a punch. She pressed more buttons and her horror seemed to grow when she saw the character on screen moving in response to her commands. She was controlling somebody! Like MOG did to her! She screamed, a high, keening animal sound, and threw the controller across the room, jumping up from the couch and running down the hallway.

Well, this didn't work out the way Arthur expected it to. The girl screamed and ran off and Arthur had no idea why. Did MOG come back without them noticing? Hazel jumped up first and ran after the girl, with Arthur right behind her.

The girl was hard to find when she didn't want to be found. Under Arthur's bed she lurked, utterly silent despite the tears coming from her eyes. Only her breathing gave her away, and when she heard Arthur approaching, she ceased even that. She could only hold her breath so long, especially after running here, and it was probably pointless, but she did so anyway.

She was faster then expected. Arthur and Hazel split up to find her more quickly. Unfortunately, she was really good at hiding. Arthur missed her completely when he checked his room. When they checked the entire house, Hazel and Arthur met back up at the top of the stairs.
"I couldn't find her. But I'm sure she's not outside." She would've spotted the girl with her butterflies had she left the building.
"Well, if she's still inside..." Arthur woke the Wolf's Soul inside of him. His senses grew sharper, at the expense of seeing the color red. It didn't take long for him to figure out where she was. Just as he was about to go back to his room, he stopped himself.
The girl had some animalistic behaviour, and she was clearly scared. Getting close to her against her will was not a good idea. It could ruin any trust she had in him, assuming that wasn't already accomplished by whatever made her run away so quickly. So the best course of action was simply to wait for her to come out on her own. Either she'll calm down or she'll get hungry eventually. Or he'll just quietly bring her dinner when the time comes and she might trust him again.
"Okay, here's the plan." Arthur told Hazel what he was thinking. "Just keep an eye out in case she tries running away by jumping out of a window or something. Can you do that, princess?"
"Of course," Hazel said.
The duo went back downstairs. Arthur turned off the console. If the game scared her so much, leaving it on when she came back wouldn't be good. Instead, Haze and Arty cycled through the channels until they found a comedy show that seemed interesting.

Slowly, the girl's heart rate slowed back to normal. She still didn't dare leave, but she was no longer in a panic. In place of fear was exhaustion. It had been a long day of various emotions and activities. She warily crept deeper under the bed and removed her clothing, forming a nest from it. Slowly black trickled from the roots of her hair down to the tips and it seemed to come alive, wrapping her in a cocoon of warmth and safety. She fell gently asleep, ready for a long nap.
A few hours later, she opened her eyes. She yawned and stretched. After her nap, she had almost forgotten what had scared her so. She slowly crept out from her nest, peaking out from the bed's underside. After a full minute of no danger detected, she left and walked out the door, heading down the hallway back to the living room. She heard laughter and crouched. Strangers! She sneaked forward silently until she could see the tv. She still didn't trust it, but she had the feeling those people couldn't touch her.

Several hours passed by the time the girl stopped hiding. When she went back downstairs, she found Hazel alone, lying down on the couch and watching a French cartoon (not that the girl could tell it was French). Arthur was in the kitchen, preparing a shepherd's pie. In fact, he was putting it in the oven right as she came down. Loveline was still out with her friends. So far, neither Hazel nor Arthur noticed the girl.

Becky sneaked down into the living room, seeking only the video game control before she would feel safe about the cartoon. She saw it just beneath the tv and lunged, a strand of hair snatching it like a tentacle. She wiggled the control sticks and watched the characters intensely. They continued to move normally and she let out a long sigh of relief. The creepy control was over. Perhaps Arthur hadn't meant to do it? She couldn't read his intentions, so alien to her mindset. She just grumbled and threw the controller away, sitting to look a the tv. Now she was just confused by the show. The bizarre looks of the characters and world reminded her of realms MOG had sent her to. Could they see into other universe?

"Haze, is everything okay?" Arthur yelled over from the kitchen after hearing something crack in the living room.
"The girl came back and she threw the controller at the wall." Hazel shouted back.
"She's awake? I guess I won't have to tempt her out with dinner" Arthur walked in to the living room. He picked up the controller which now had a large crack on the held part. By the time he put the controller back where it used to be, the crack was gone as if it was never there.
He joined the girls on the couch. "Speaking of which, dinner will be in about half an hour." And the day will end in just a few more hours.

Becky looked up at Arthur when she was joined by him in the living room. She sprang up onto the couch, ignoring her state of dress once more to wrap herself tight to Arthur and Hazel with her hair, bundling all three in a dark cocoon. She made a hum that might have been like a purr.

The girl did something unexpected. She approached them and gathered everyone into a cocoon made of black hair. Since she clearly wasn't attacking them (unless she was testing out a new attack inspired by anacondas they saw at the zoo), it must mean she trusted them. It was a big leap from the period when she would jump at a single touch. Although now the problem was that they could hardly move and trying to wriggle out of her grasp could hurt her so neither of them dared to try it.
Just then, they heard the front door being unlocked. Loveline came back.

Becky silently untangled herself from Arthur and Hazel to bounce behind the couch when the unexpected sound of a lock clicking open rang out. She peeped her head up just enough to spy that it was just Loveline entering the house and crawled back over. She shivered at the breeze let into the house. She had left her clothes under the bed. They were uncomfortable and restrictive, but she could see why people wore them when it was cold at least. She could make a habit of it.

While the girl hid, Arthur went out to greet his daughter. Hazel was left alone with the girl, whom she only now noticed was completely naked. Again.
"Dad, can you get the girl's clothes? She's naked again!" She yelled over to them, intensely focusing on the TV so she wouldn't see the girl.
"Hm? Oh, yeah." Arthur and Love went upstairs together. While Loveline was changing, Arthur managed to find the clothes and come back down. He put them on the table in front of the girl.

The girl sighed and stuffed herself into the clothing, trading the physical comfort of bare skin for warmth. She sniffed the air, detecting meat cooking. Curious, she went to the kitchen again. She looked at the cabinets lined on the walls and begin opening them from a safe distance with strands of her hair. The first few were just confusing. A bunch of metal and wood things with no clear purpose. Then she discovered a treasure trove. Her eyes widened as she found row after row of food, all stored away in these strange wooden boxes on the walls. Where did they get so much food? Arthur must be a fantastic gatherer!

Once Arthur saw the girl going to the kitchen, he followed her. Even though his perfect internal clock told him it would still be a couple of minutes until dinner is done, he didn't want the girl accidentally burning or otherwise hurting herself. He was glad that all she did was look around cautiously. Although when she reached the food filled shelves, he hoped her curiousity wouldn't lead her to the big box of cookies just sitting there. Nor that she would want to try the cereal from before again. She couldn't ruin her appetite now! And of course, it wouldn't be good if she messed around with the spices too much either or she could make a mess of everything.
