Becky was shaking when she looked around, fearing the return of MOG. When it didn't happen, she just clung to Arthur's hand. She did still want to see those animals.
A few hours later, she had practically forgotten the incident, skipping and laughing as they left the zoo. Her delight was only slightly dampened when her stomach rumbled. She mumbled some of her usual babble and looked around for food. She still didn't quite understand the rules for finding it in this world.

The girl was lucky to so easily forget about the bastard lurking around. Arthur and Hazel sure couldn't. But perhaps that's what kept him away. perhaps he was just waiting for them to drop their guard, to "least expect him" so he could ruin their day. Regardless of what his reason for not showing up was, Arthur was glad he didn't.
They met with Loveline at the predetermined location. She was carrying a bunch of souvenirs. When they got ready to leave, the girl's tummy rumbled.
"I guess we know where we're going next." There a pizzeria nearby where they could stop in and have something to eat. Also not far away was an ice cream parlor where they could get desert. Arthur ushered everyone to the car and drove to the establishment.

Becky practically drooled as they approached the pizza place. She could smell the melting cheese and her instincts screamed of fat. Out in the wild, any fat was a grand boon. She scrambled up to the counter the moment they entered and patted at images of everything she wanted. Mushrooms! Olives! Little fishies!

"We'll take a Quatro Formago, a Margherita, a Capriccosa and... A pizza Napoli if you would be so kind." Placing the order, Arthur and the girls took a seat outside, two out of the four keeping an eye out for something or someone who could potentially ruin their appetite. Since she didn't know why everyone was so tense, Loveline decided to break the silence by asking the girl a question. "So, did you enjoy the zoo? See anything interesting?"

Becky understood Love enough to respond. She waved her arms like she was in flight and rattled off perfect impressions of several birds, followed up with a menagerie of other animal impressions, many assisted by small darkness constructs around her mouth. She was swiftly drawing attention with her talent. Eyes on her made her balk and she glanced face to face before slowly slipping under the table to avoid them.

The curious heads quickly turned away under the force of Arthur's murderous gaze. Loveline acted as if that didn't happen and ducked under the table herself. "That was great! You really have a talent for making bird sounds! Can you do lions?" She puffed up her hair to give it the appearance of a lion's mane and (unsuccessfully) tried roaring like one.

Becky smiled and clapped when Love did a lion impression and responded with her own. It was closer and much louder, but not nearly as good as her bird sounds. She stopped when she smelled something in the air. That cheese was approaching! She sprang back up just in time for the food to be placed on the table. She ripped off a chunk and began sloppily shoving it in her mouth, guzzling like she'd never see food again.

The way the girl inhaled her food would have surely attracted a lot of attention. And since she already showed she didn't like much attention, Loveline used her illusions to make it seem like she was eating calmly to everyone around them. It didn't take long for everyone to finish eating their pizza. Soon they found themselves at the ice cream place. Pictures of ice cream scoops of various flavors were visibly as they approached. Choosing which one to take would surely not be an easy task for the inexperienced and curious girl. The Cromwell family members however already knew exactly what they would take.

Becky looked with confusion at the ice cream. Its texture was strange and she could feel how cold it was through the glass. It was so strange. She sniffed the air but it gave no useful hints. She just stared at all the colors. The filling greasy stuff was orange and yellow, but nothing here was the right color. She didn't understand this at all. None of it looked exactly edible. Were they even going to eat it? She turned and tugged at Arthur's side, cocking her head and pointing her finger at her mouth.

Arthur nodded at the girl's pantomime. For himself he got the brown chocolate, Love took the light pink strawberry and Haze got a hazelnut-vanilla combo of light brown and white. They all looked at the girl and waited for her to point at whatever color caught her fancy. Did she maybe want a taste test first?

Becky just gave a stare to Arthur. She guessed it was edible. She pointed at the pink strawberry icecream. It closest matched the color of that other tasty food in this world, so it must be good. Maybe. She didn't understand anything here!

Once they all got their ice cream, they could go back home. They were already more then halfway through the day. After the bit of trouble at the start, the rest of the day flew by real fast. Surely the rest shouldn't be too challenging.

When Becky got her ice cream, she nearly dropped it. Why was it cold!? She sniffed it. It even smelled cold! She touched it with her tongue and her eyes widened. Fruit! How!? What was this madness!? Besides delicious of course. She bit into the ice cream on her way back to the car and instantly regretted it, calling out. It really was cold! How did you eat it? She tilted her head at it, sniffing gently. Maybe she waited for it to warm? She was still puzzling over it when they reached the car.

The girl's shock and confusion were adorable. Even if they didn't say it out loud, all of the Cromwell family agreed on that. Loveline tapped the girl's shoulder to catch her attention. "Like this," she said and licked it, then got into the car.
Since he really wanted to eat his ice cream right now, but also didn't want to give his daughters a bad example by driving with only one hand, Arthur made a small ice stand to hold his ice cream so he could drive with both his hands. "Don't forget your seat belts, girls. We'll be home before you know it."

Becky jumped when her shoulder was touched, fixing Loveline with a glare when she realized it was just her. Even annoyed, she copied the action and was surprised to find how significant the difference was. She gladly kept licking even while she clumsily did her seat belt, recalling that this was important. She figured this strange machine didn't work without them.

When they got home, Arthur wondered what they should do next. His first thought was of playing a board game, but they couldn't really teach the girl how to play them. Taking her to the park didn't seem like the best idea either since the just got home and she was a bit too wild to play with the other kids.
"We still have a lot of time go before our guest leaves. Any ideas what we should do in the meantime?"
"How about we do some drawing?" Hazel suggested.
"Drawing, huh?" Arthur rubbed his chin. Not a bad idea. They wouldn't really need to give any special instructions. And the girl would get a chance to show them her soul! if she can produce animal sounds so freely, just imagine the artistic potential hidden inside of her! "That's a great idea, Haze! Go grab your drawing set and bring it to the living room."
While Hazel ran to grab the kit from her room, Loveline's cell phone rang with a catchy pop song as the ringtone. "Hi, Belle." She went to the kitchen to take the call in private.

Becky bounced into the air when Love's phone sang at her. She was still staring in horror, bristly hairs standing on end, when Love left the room. She glanced around in shock for a few more minutes until Hazel came back with art supplies. She looked at all the bright colors with interest, squeezing and bending pencils to get a feel for them. They didn't appear to be more food. "Aw?" She peeped, tilting her head at Hazel.

Hazel laid out some paper for everyone on the living room floor, when Love came in. "Dad, Mabelle wants to go out."
"When are you coming back?"
"I'll be back by ten. Thanks dad, see ya soon." Loveline rushed off to put on some shoes.
"Do you need money?"
"Nah, I still have my own." And with that Love dashed away, leaving the trio alone.
"Well, I guess we'll only need three pieces of paper for now. Let's get started!" Arthur and Hazel started drawing. He decided to draw a portrait of the girl while Hazel drew some forest-covered hills.

Becky stared at the others drawing for a few minutes. At first she simply needed to grasp the concept. She had decorated things before, but these tools were strange, alien even. She needed a few more minutes just to gather the nerve to attempt art with the pencils. She stared at her paper until inspiration struck and she began scribbling. Eventually the whole page was a mess of green, every shade she could get her hands on. Mixed in were little patches of other colors, yellow, orange, purple, blue. In the center was a much greater collection of color, a big burst of red and black mixed together. "Ab!" She cried out triumphantly, holding up her work to be admired.

Arthur looked up at the girl's excited shout. "Oh, that's nice." He clapped his hands. "Good job!"
"What is it?"
"I think it's a flower field. But I think she saw it before she came here," he said.
Next it was Hazel's turn to show off her hill. Her drawing too used a lot of green for the hills, but it also showed a blue sky and yellow sun. It also didn't have as many colorful dots splattered around, instead having a solitary figure on top of a hill, surrounded by black butterflies.
Arthur's drawing tried to be a bit more complicated, seeing as it was a portrait of the girl, although his drawing skills left much to be desired.
