Becky gladly rested her head on Love's shoulder, cuddling into her and including her in the hair blanket. She only stared at the clothing. She would need incentive to put that on. Obviously it hadn't been communicated properly why she needed to get dressed.

Arthur sighed and the put the clothes down on the living room table. He went back to his room and a couple of minutes later, he came back with his cellphone. He turned the screen towards Becky. On it, there were pictures of people visiting a zoo. The first few pictures only showed people looking at the animals, but the last few had some people circled. Those people wore clothes similar to the ones Loveline prepared for Becky.
"See? You need to have clothes on to visit the animals."

Becky stared and looked close at the circled people. With an odd mumble, she grabbed up the clothing and clumsily pulled it on. Continuing her mumbling, she nudged Arthur, demanding the animals she wanted to see. "Weh! Weeeeeeh!" She complained.

Arthur rubbed his chin for a second before going back to him room. He came back faster this time as he only had one image to show. The sign showing when the zoo opens. Arthur first tapped the part of the screen that showed the number, then he pointed at the digital clock near the TV. There was still time before the zoo opened.

Becky looked back and forth between the numbers. She didn't understand the significance of this. Those funny looking symbols were different, but did that matter? She supposed it must have, but she couldn't comprehend what the meaning was. Did it only work when the symbols were the same? Becky hopped off the couch to grab the clock and began randomly pressing buttons.

Arthur watched Becky messing with the digital clock with interest. She fiddled with the buttons, changed modes at least ten times and changed the time even more times before finally stopping the numbers at the ones Arthur's picture showed.
Thinking about it, he decided her determination had to be rewarded. "Okay, girls. Get ready to go out. We're going to the zoo."
"But it isn't open yet..." Loveline said.
"I'll take care of that."
A few minutes later, Loveline and Hazel returned, one dressed in a jeans and a red short-sleeved dress shirt with frills; the other wearing a white polka dot summer dress.
"Great." Arthur closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Two seconds later he opened his eyes again. "Right, let's go!" He outstretched his hand to the girl.

Becky clapped and bounded over to Arthur's side. She grabbed his hand with both of hers, bouncing up and down in place. Animals animals animals! She made soft chirps of excitement. She hoped they would walk there through the woods. Or climb a cliff. Or swim the ocean!

Becky's hopes were dashed when Arthur took her to the garage and opened the car door to the back seat. Hazel entered first and huddled up in the corner. In the meantime, Loveline went to the front seat and put on her seat belt.

Becky looked at the box with wheels with distrust. What was this? Was this so the animals wouldn't hurt them? She decided it must be. That made sense. But who would push it? She guessed Arthur. The other girls were children like her, but softer and weaker. They could never survive animals. Becky wanted to offer to push instead. She could handle any animal. But unable to communicate her desires, she jumped into the car. She crossed her legs on a seat, poking at the odd straps that the others put across their bodies.

Seeing that the strange girl was struggling with the seat belt, Hazel helped her out and scooted back into her corner.
"Is everyone buckled in?" Arthur asked and looked in the rear view mirror before adjusting everything. Once he was sure everyone was ready, he opened the garage door and drove out. It took about half an hour for them to reach the zoo with his maniacal driving. They were welcomed by a large gate with lots of people arriving right now. On the top of the gate, written in large bold letters stood "London Zoo".
"Right, line up, kiddos. We need to get tickets."

Becky became very still in her seat when the car started to move, first frozen with fear, then drawn in by the view outside. What a strange thing to carry them. Nobody was pushing it! It was scary, but exhilarating. She pressed her face up to the glass to watch the passing scenery. She didn't understand most of what she saw, and was still utterly baffled by the time she reached the gates. However, pictures of animals spurred her on. They were close! She clung to Arthur, not certain of what they were stopping for, but clearly he would know best.

After some time waiting in the queue during which Arthur made sure the girl didn't wander off, he bought 4 tickets and ushered the girls through the gate. He and Loveline grabbed a map of the zoo each and unfolded it. While gorillas and birds were the nearest exhibit, the girl showed great interest in giraffes before and they were pretty close, too.
"Let's go see the giraffes first." "Let's go see the lions first," Arthur and Loveline spoke at the same time and looked at each other.
"I think our guest wants to see the giraffes more."
"Well, while you're doing that, can't I go see the lions? You know I can take care of myself."
Arthur thought about it. "Okay, you can look around on your own. But be careful. Meet us at the Barclay court in four hours. Don't be late. And if anything happens, call me right away."
Loveline hugged her dad, thanked him and ran off to the north where the large cats lived. Arthur took Hazel and the girl by the hand and set off for Africa!

Becky bounced with joy when she saw the giraffe's heads peaking into sight. She made an almost musical warble and ran to the edge of their enclosure. She paused at the edge of the fence for a moment. What was this? What a strange thing! She grabbed onto the edge of the fence and pulled herself up, fully intending to jump over to walk right up to the giraffes. She wanted to climb them!
Behind, a familiar spiky haired figure appeared behind Arthur. "Hey, how's it going? Don't actually tell me, I know." The Master watched Becky climb with amusement.

"That's not how rhetorical questions go, Yami. You're not supposed to tell me not to answer it." Arthur tried grabbing Becky just before she finished climbing the fence. "No, no," he said in a stern voice. "That's not allowed."

Becky waved her arms irritably in the air as she was brought down. "Charming little thing, isn't she? You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've had to piece her together because she wanted a better look at a dangerous animal." The Master smiled when Becky looked past her guardian and saw him. Her scream drew eyes right before she broke from Arthur's grip and ran headlong the other direction. "Oops. Did I spook the poor thing?" He gave Arthur an innocent look, raising his hands palms outward. "Better go find her. She doesn't do well in crowds."

"Damn bastard. Can't you just stay away until the time is up? Haze, come on. We have to catch up to her before she gets hurt. Just make sure you don't run too fast." Or before she decides to take off her clothes in the middle of a crowd. Father and daughter ran after the girl. Arthur wanted to call out to her, but then he realized he didn't know her name or if she even had one. All he could do was hope they could catch her before she got lost in the crowd.

"I can." The Master appeared leaning on a pole. "But where's the fun in that?" He vanished again when Arthur blinked, leaving him alone to find Becky. She cowered behind a trashcan, whimpering softly. Was he going to take her back? She thought she would stay with the nice ice man. Why would he let her loose just to tug on the leash again?

"Over there." Hazel said, noticing the cowering girl before Arthur. The two rushed over there and crouched down next to her. "It's okay. He's gone now." Arthur said in a soothing voice. "I promise I'll help you gain your freedom. Come on, we just arrived here. Let's not waste time here."

Becky huddled away further when Arthur approached, whimpering in her corner. She looked up at him and sniffled, casting about for the abomination. When she didn't see it she leaped forward to wrap her arms around Arthur's shoulders and sob. She mumbled nonsense as she clung to him.

Arthur put his arms around Becky as while she sobbed. "There, there." He patted her on the back until her sobs quieted down. Without letting her go, he turned to his daughter. "Hazel..." But he didn't need to finish his sentence for his daughter already learned how her father thought, or perhaps it was a sign that the paranoia from her past life still lingered in her nature. Black butterfly fluttered away from Hazel except for one that latched on to her wrist like a bracelet. Hazel was now in control of what was essentially a grid of security cameras keeping an eye out for MoG. Of course, the sly bastard was likely to just teleport next to them if he decided it would be fun, maybe even disable her vision with a rule, but it still provided a semblance of an early warning system.
Arthur finally released his hug. "Come on now, that's enough crying, little one. You can't see all the exotic animals if your vision is blurry."
