Osechi tried moving to the side but she was completely out of stamina, as one of her legs got caught she began to struggle against the sticky substance, only to get completely crushed by the hag's arm.
It was devastating, Osechi began to cough golden blood and her eyesight went blurry, she tried to crawl somewhere safe but to no avail as her leg was still stuck to a broken chunk of the floor. Perhaps it was a bad idea to leave Gan's side after all.
Another cough of blood came. breathing was now a very difficult task, and walking felt like a distant dream. were her ribs broken too? she couldnt tell, her entire body was in pain. somehow in the midst of chaos her thoughts were of coco and marshmallows. she cried a little.
Gan found Jun on a bush, her face was now red, but everything else seemed to be fine. Gan gave a sigh of relief and went on to help her.
"Are you ok? I was worried you were being led into a trap" Gan said as he extended his hand. It was a strange feeling, but he quickly began to feel light headed. he could barely feel it back when they were with the group, but now that he had run after Jun the feeling was worse, it was no longer just a weird feeling, it was painful.
If Jun were to grab his hand and pull he would surely topple over her, but if she wasnt fast enough he would just fall on the ground, at this point, he was barely in control of his body.

The man slipped out of Arthur's grasp before he could be tossed. What's more, Arthur felt like his punch didn't do much to the man, as if he'd shifted his body to take less damage.
"Ugh, are you a shapeshifter? Why are shapeshifters always assholes?" Even Loveline was an enemy when he first met her. "Then again, shapeshifters usually can't teleport, unless they've got several powers."
The assassin also wasn't very impressed with Arthur's choice of dance. "Hey, I'm 30! I'm just young looking! I'm starting to think you don't even want my dance lessons."
The assassin licked his fangs in response and jumped toward Arthur. Arthur ducked and smirked confidently. He formed another sword and turned to attack him, but a sudden jolt of pain showed him the error of his hubris.
"Alright..." He said with a pained voice. "Eye for an eye, I guess. Guess I just gotta stop you from dancing then." Arthur grabbed for the hand holding the sword like he had last time. But this time a cold air surrounded his hand and would encase the assassin's hand in ice on contact. His other hand created a ball of cold and dropped it at the assassin's feet, aiming to trap him in place, before Arthur tried to punch him in the face. --- Aaron was snapped out of his rage by a shard of the hobgoblin's skull cutting into his fist. He saw his handiwork and was disgusted. He stood up, pale-faced, and stumbled to the side. Suddenly feeling light-headed, having forgotten about his bleeding wound, he stumbled once again and toppled off the dinosaur. It was a good thing he'd inspired dread in the goblins around the hobgoblin. It opened the route toward the trees for him.
Replacing Asmodeus's strength with Buer's healing, Aaron stumbled for the cover of the trees. He waited for his state to stabilize before pulling out the spear's tip to heal the rest of the way. He should have time to heal and rejoin the battle. If he didn't piss off the hobgoblin's dinosaur.

A smile spread across Caroline’s face when she felt her knife scrape across the dwarf’s skin. The paralysis venom should start to weaken this guy, making her own job easier. The doll nodded her head at the information Dan attempted to give her. “Crazy guy who swings like this.” Caroline repeated the right-left pattern Dan told her about. “Sounds simple enough. Don’t have too much fun with the scythe ladies, now!” She called after Dan, waving. The smile shrank slightly when she saw the state of Dan’s arms. Just how close did that idiot get to death just now?
Turning back to the dwarf, Caroline extended her right arm out, reaching the back of her left ankle, moving it up and down to display her powers further. “I will have you know that was quite rude, mister. You wouldn’t want me commenting on your height, now would you?” She poked fun at the dwarf’s expense. She was hoping to get him sputtering in rage long enough to whip her left ankle upward in an arcing motion, whipping her body at the dwarf and pinwheeling through the air. The doll was attempting to take the dwarf by surprise and deliver a hard vertical slash from the top of his head down his back, wanting to put more venom into his system.
---
“Hey, whoa!” Erin said in surprise when the woman swung for her side after the onslaught, putting her handle out to block it once more, but stumbling back herself. It was at this point that Dan stumbled in and wanted to talk with her. Erin’s eyes widened in shock when she saw the state he was in. “What on Earth happened to you?!” She asked in shock. They had just fighting these guys, and someone already looked like that?!
The entire time Dan was trying to explain, Erin looked at him with wide eyes, trying to catch any hit of his magical ‘weakness’ he was trying to allude to. But it was all for naught. A defeated expression descended across her face when the woman shouted and swung her scythe at her, hitting square in the stomach and driving all the air out. Erin gasped for air, falling backwards fast enough to make the cut to her stomach more shallow, but still tearing through her coat and making a red line that began to bleed. The HWIC agent fall onto her butt, looking up at the woman.
This is real. I’m alone facing this crazy woman! Wait, not just her! Erin’s sudden realization made her look toward the slime, the petals having now floated to the floor. What was she to do?! Focus on making more petals to keep that thing away, or fight this woman?! Erin went with the latter, more immediate threat and swinging to try and arc it across the woman’s legs. While the thought of slicing apart a person’s legs was grotesque, Erin knew they could be reattached. Regardless if the slash hit or not, Erin stumbled back to her feet and summoned 3 petals to try and slash at the woman’s front, each going for her midsection. One eye drifted to see what was going on with the slime at this point.

Huh? What are you saying, sweetheart? Do you want me to end your suffering and guide you to a blissful rest? - The angel was ready to swing his axe at the gobling that was crying its heart out, desperate in a language no one understood, except the angel but he wasn't going to listen to it. Gallerian, cut it ou-- But when the ex-paladin tried to warn him, the angel has already decapitated the gobling. The body lied in the ground as the angel vanished his weapon.
You poor thing, now you have been purified from those demons - The angel made a small pray before turning to Vlad and the others - Now, now, do you need to heal those wounds Aaru? - He already picked a nickname for the irish - What about you Will? - He said glancing at Wilson
Gallerian we could have used the gobling as an hostage or at least to guide us between the traps! - He pointed towards the forest, where Jun and Gan went.
We'll be fine, don't worry about it~ - He said in his cheerful tone, however, that was a warning. Gallerian, despite feeling hurt wheneber a life died, he didn't care of those that had went the path of demons and similar... maybe that was an angel thing, or at least that was the driaochta believed... Hewever, the conversation was over when the angel began to walk towards the forest.
You never change huh... - He sighed

Dan was well past the point of pain. All he could feel was sticky, rapidly cooling blood. I need a shower. He distantly thought, looking at the red mess all over his clothes. There was more blood over there, but it was gold. That big thing was lifting up its fist for another go, ready to mash the god again. The Gingerbread Knight was trying to distract it, but he didn’t seem to have its attention right now. Dan stumbled forward. What did he think he was doing? He could barely walk, let alone get her out of danger. But her golden blood was glittering and he realized his way forward.
It was an agonizing crawl, but he made it, dropping to one knee by her side. “Sorry.” He managed to mutter as he ran a finger under her chin, gathering up blood. He felt like a creep doing it. Touching people without permission while covered in blood wasn’t a good look. He banished intrusive thoughts and slurped up the blood. It went down just as nice as the tiny drop he had earlier, but something changed when it touched his stomach. It was like swallowing lava and letting fire spread through his veins. The pain in his arms reignited, wounds sealing nearly as painful as getting them, leaving little red lines everywhere. This time, there wasn’t just healing. Expanding, swelling, dizzying growth. His clothes tightened and ripped in places, the ground got two feet further away. Dan looked down and saw nothing but solid muscle mass. He was always a big guy. Now he was a titan.
He didn’t let himself ponder this for too long. Osechi still needed his help. He grabbed her and yanked her right out of her shoes, dragging her far out of the hag’s reach. She was a struggle to move even with his new strength. “What are you made of?” He asked. This went far beyond musculature, as admirable as that was. When he finished, he glanced around the room. He was still huge! Hopefully that wasn’t permanent. He couldn’t afford a whole new wardrobe, as nice as this sort of power was. “Lay still for a bit. We’ll get this checked out when the fight’s won.” Dan’s feet pushed him off the ground and he rushed for Erin. Her opponent managed to block her first swing with the shaft of her own weapon, but she was unbalanced, staggering backwards from the force levered against her. She was left open to the petals that struck her midsection and with three swift slashes, she crumpled over, hands on her stomach.
Dan stood in surprise as the scythe clattered to the ground. “Oh… you had it handled I guess.” He deflated in an instant, leaving him in stretched-out rags. He was turning red when the clawed beast of slime stepped forward. “Uh, I didn’t happen to catch any weaknesses from this one. Besides, like, it’s sticky? Stand near computers!” He rapped his knuckles on a computer bank and retreated, trying to pull his ruined pants tighter. They would heal on their own, but it wasn’t a quick deal. The monster focused on the woman who trapped it, swinging its arm in a wide arc in an attempt to capture her.
“Insults will have no effect! I am the proper height for a dwarf! Heights lead to bumped heads, bumped heads lead to stupidity! That is how humans came to be!” The dwarf didn’t stop springing, slowly bouncing closer. One giant axe blocked her dagger easily, but his arm twitched. He looked at it with confusion. “Venom! You are a snake as well!? It will take more than one bite to fell a dwarf!” He flipped forward, bringing his axes down just like Dan said, right from straight above, then left from a diagonal aimed to cut off her right arm.
The catman easily evaded Arthur’s grab again. “You keep trying to make this into a wrestling match!” He readied himself for a retaliatory stab, but Arthur’s ice ball trapped his feet. By instinct, he tried to jump away from Arthur’s fist, but he was caught full on by the punch. His body bent back to an inhuman extent, absorbing some of the impact and trying to keep away from Arthur until he could break free. “Shit.” His voice and face were finally serious, and with his back parallel to the floor, he swung his sword at Arthur’s legs.
Aaron was left in momentary peace, the goblin’s mount charging forth in a panic, quickly set upon by the aquatic mounts of his allies. The only one still fighting on the open sand was Wilson, duking it out with the Tyrannosaurus. Its lunge had finally caught his arm, digging in deep, piercing and cracking bone with ease. He was gasping, losing height and mass bit by bit. Gallerian was talking to him now, asking him if he needed healing. He thought, then nodded. “YES!” He yelled, and his voice was a blizzard. All the air pooled in his body left in an instant with a force that bowled over the dinosaur and turned the ocean’s water into sludgy half-ice. Shrunk back to normal, Wilson went skidding across the beach and into the newly solidified wake, coming to rest in the slushy waves. He was down for a few seconds before he came limping back. “Yes, I could use healing.” He whispered, raising his crushed arm. The dinosaur growled and trashed its tail, quickly rising. “Quickly, please.”
“I apparently was.” Jun meant to say, but it came out mumbled and garbled through a mouth of broken teeth. She was tearing up. Idiot! To fall for this, and in front of somebody like Gan! She must be hideous now! Her concerns changed immediately when Gan suddenly collapsed across her. “Gan?” She mumbled. This was awkward. Really awkward. This weight across her, too intimate. Those thoughts were banished when she realized what was happening. That little bastard’s knife! Jun got her arms under Gan’s and wiggled to her feet. She gently lay him down, checking for a pulse with her head up, watching the bushes. She wasn’t alone for long. Motions came and she was coated in scales in an instant, blocking the darts that came flying at her from all angles.
She was up on her feet in the next moment, moving into a stance not meant for sword play at all. “Oh, this is an opportunity for us to test our new style.” The Shattered One said. “That’s not what I’m thinking about now!” Jun was thrown into a deadly dance, blocking every dart that came for Gan with her own body. Please, somebody get her soon. She begged. Glass Devil could not be sustained for long before she too would collapse, and the both would be riddled with deadly stings.

The dwarf’s reply almost made Caroline burst out laughing, the doll putting her hand to her mouth to stifle to sound. “Heh...oh my.” She stated. Her knife was blocked by the dwarf’s giant axe, and he seemed to realize what was covering her blade. Remembering what Dan had told her about his pattern, Caroline slid out of the way of the right swing, ready to dodge the other when her foot slid on the icy floor and caused the doll to stumble and allowed the axe to cleave a gash across her entire right arm.
Pain shot through Caroline’s body, but unlike Erin, she didn’t bleed at all. “I was trying to be somewhat civil with you, but now that isn’t an option, is it?” She said with more anger in her voice. The doll pulled her other knife from her pocket and ran it across her tongue, whipping her body to the side at incredible speed and slashing at the dwarf’s right leg. She then used the momentum to twist her body to position herself behind the dwarf and attempt to drive her knife directly into the top part of his back. If venom got into his spinal nerves, it would be significantly more difficult to keep fighting.
---
Erin stood still, watching as the woman with the scythe fell over after being struck by her petals. “Did I...huh?” She asked in disbelief. There was no way this was it. This woman obviously had some kind of last second superform, probably with spikes coming out of her shoulders and bat wings out of her back. The HWIC agent reached into her pocket to pull out a pair of handcuffs to make sure this woman didn’t get back into the fight…
...and then it hit her. There was still another opponent.
“Aaaaaaaaaah!” Erin screamed when the arm swung through the air and struck her side, sending the HWIC agent crashing into the nearby terminal. The entire world went white for a few seconds as pain shot through her entire body. She could feel the blood trickling down the back of her neck and several spots across her body. Fear also began to worm its way into her mind. What just happened? Was anyone around to help? How strong was this thing? Could she even make it out of this alive?
When she got enough of her senses back, Erin remembered Dan’s advice and moved to quickly unzip her coat, attempting to pull it off and use her scythe to slice apart the arm that had stuck to her. She then summoned 3 petals and send them sailing toward the slime creature, not having the concentration currently to summon anymore to any reliable degree of control.

Despite being badly beaten, Osechi still frowned when Dan struggled to move her and made a comment on her body. As she was set aside her wounds began to heal. Dan might have been rude, but he had also saved her.
*I'll...let that go this time*- Osechi thought to herself as she closed her eyes for a while, attempting to ignore the pain that came with her healing.
Gan was definitely not having a good time. The nausea and the headaches were incredibly strong, for a second he almost even lost conciousness. by the time he had managed to regain it, he was witness of how Jun was doing her best to protect him, blocking the attacks that came relentlessly one after the other. Gan coughed and nearly vomited as he crawled towards a tree and leaned his back on it.
Still shaking, and still in pain, he unholstered his gun and pulled the trigger at the slightest movement he caught from the bushes, the gun felt extremely heavy, and the little recoil it had was enough to make him shake at this point. still, he forced himself to power through the pain. calm breathing and harnessing his inner ki should dimish the effects of the venom for a while. at least long enough for help to arrive.

"Nah, you're too slippery for a wrestling match. I just wanna stop your shenanigans!" And Arthur's plan succeeded! For the most part. The assassin wasn't ready to give up yet though. He bent forward enough to be parallel to the ground and swung at Arthur's legs.
Arthur jumped back, but a sword still nicked one of his legs. "Not bad," he said as the red line started expanding. "But not good enough!" Arthur jumped to the side, leaning mostly on his good leg, kicked off a server to get behind the catman, then kicked off an ice wall to launch himself right at the assassin's back, two swords extended to pierce him from behind.
It wasn't long before Aaron felt the pain dying down. He looked through the hole in his shirt and saw the wound was just a big ugly scab now. It wasn't perfectly healed yet, but it was good enough for him to get up and rejoin the fight. Speaking of which, the healing time let him observe how it was progressing. The girl's friend and the old man did some damage and the angel was offering to heal them. The girl herself and the asian ran off into the forest after the chieftain and still haven't come back. Sure they could've just been delayed by having to catch their target or they could have finished him off and were now , but Aaron knew enough about goblins to know they were surprisingly tricky regardless of the region they're in. Ambushes and traps were part of their tactics just as much as large numbers were. And they had a lot of time to prepare both by the time the group got close to their shore. Looking again at the trio still on the beach and seeing they had everything under control, he ran off into the woods.
Aaron wasn't sure exactly where they were, but he remembered what direction they ran off in. Broken branches helped direct him further. And then he heard the sounds of gunshots he was pretty sure goblins didn't have. He was heading in the right direction. Then he saw some goblins looking away from him. They appeared to be shooting darts into bushes. Aaron was sure he found them now, so he started sneaking toward them now. He'd replaced the healing with strength; he didn't need the former since his wound already turned into a scar. He got closer and then-
"Fuck!" He yelled out as a bullet hit him in the leg. Gan couldn't recognize him through the forest growth, all he saw was movement and he shot at it. Well, now he probably knew he just shot reinforcements. And the goblins Aaron was sneaking toward probably also knew their enemies got reinforcement. Aaron lept behind the nearest tree and put one hand on his leg to slow the bleeding. Now wasn't time to use healing and strength wouldn't be useful now that he can't sneak closer. So he turned on Flauros for his ranged attack and stated firing with his other arm at the goblins.

I like when kids are honest! - The angel said as he plucked off a feather, it went flying towards Wilson and once it was pretty close to him it dissolved in white magic to be absorbed by the receptor's body.
The ex-paladin walked towards Wilson, taking his spear out once again - Let me assist you - He said, before summoning new pentagrams to keep their distance for a few more minutes from the dinosaur.
Maybe I should take care of this, here, go give some of my feathers to Aaru, Juu and the other boy - The angel winked at the other two. His hair turning white like snow, the angel began to create a small wound in the palm of his hands to let his blood to come out. He proceeded to combine it with some pheromones to calm down the dinosaur, he made sure to concentrate it as much as to put it sleep for a few hours, the bad thing about it is that an Angel of Creation's pheromones didn't only work on animals to manipulate them as they wished, but it could spot demons about its presence. Maybe that could scare off the weak ones... or make the stronger ones angrier...
We should be going, they seem to be in trouble - The driacohta said to Wilson as he began to run towards the forest. The first thing he did was to cast a spell around their bodies once again to prevent getting wounded as they went closer to their allies. He spotted Aaron first, so he let out one of Gallerian's feathers so he can heal - It's from Gal, it will heal you
That was the only thing he said before rushing again towards the others, with his spear he evaded some of the darts, however the forest wasn't a great place for someone like him, a sword would be better, but he didn't had one at the moment, and the one from the King was safely secured in his house back on London. With a firm stomp to the ground he sent a blast of air towards some branches to have a better path. Miss Li! Sr Tengri! Where are you? - He shouted, he was too concentrated on the darts and hidden goblings to focus on the trail the others left behind as they walked, since his eyes were bussy, he at least could use his hearing.

“The stretching one also does not bleed? Is she a toy of rubber? A balloon!?” The dwarf was so surprised that Caroline’s knife easily struck him, digging deep into the muscles of his back. He gurgled and stumbled forward. The sheer mass and strength of his muscles stopped her knife from reaching his lung, but his arm dropped as the back muscles that helped him handle the weight of his massive axes froze up. “You… you… evil balloon! You will be popped!” The dwarf spun, trying to swing his two massive axes straight through Caroline’s body with sheer momentum, unable to lift his arms enough to let gravity to the work. The monster made a gurgling hiss of victory as it reeled Erin in. Its jaws opened wide, exposing mammalian teeth in a crocodilian jaw, capable of grinding and ripping. Before they could grind and rip on Erin, she was gone and the beast’s arm with her, her scythe ripping clean through the little bit of bone Caroline had exposed with her knife. It backed up again, finding itself on the server. It tried to move again, but its own sticky body had trapped it. Erin’s slashes exposed more black bone on its chest and its screams were agonizing cries of panic. It trashed, slime stretching but not breaking, gluing it tight to the computer server. Its struggles slowed, its remaining arm suddenly going limp at its side. Its head rolled back and its entire body shuddered like it was suffering a seizure. Its slime was changing from the consistency of diseased snot to something bubbly and mobile, more like lava. Steam came off its body, more and more popping from bursting bubbles until the entire exoskeleton of ooze exploded off of its body. Sticky, boiling glop was sprayed everywhere. What was left behind was an off-human skeleton, pitch black that somehow glowed with dark energy, long claws flexing and teeth gnashing. Moving with feral agility, it sprang off of the server, charging directly at Erin, claws out and jaws open wide enough to catch her entire skull. The catman was grinning when Arthur copied his own agile get-behind moves. “It seems we’re both learning something here!” He bent up, but his position was too precarious for him to recover immediately. He was forced to parry rather than dodge, flicking his swords between Arthur’s, then flicking them outwards to deflect Arthur’s swords away. Unfortunately, that did nothing to stop Arthur’s momentum forwards. Their heads met with a colossal thud, sending the both of them tumbling across the ground. The catman stopped his tumble by very suddenly finding his feet, straightening up to clap his palm to his bleeding forehead. Swift as he was, he was too late. Blood was trickling into his eye already, leaving him with half his vision gone. “You… clumsy maniac! My perfect partner would never do something so absurd!” He twitched, losing even more of his humanity, top canines growing out over his chin and back hunching. With a roar, he lunged forward again, no more graceful attacks but just a furious battering with his swords, trying to break through Arthur’s swords and hack him into pieces.
“Kids?” Wilson blinked. He looked down at his sparkling arm, flexing it a few times to test its strength. The angel’s strength permeated his muscle and bone, mending it back to nearly normal. He decided not to correct the angel on his age. It was an easy mistake to make. He himself had a difficult time reading ages. Less effective was what the angel was attempting with the dinosaur. It seemed to be entirely ignoring his efforts, slowly working its way up to his feet. Something had changed in its eyes, animal wits replaced with demonic fury. Its many head decorations were growing out, spiraling into hideous spirals of flesh, giving it a face that looked like it was just run through a meat grinder, leaving it made entirely of little strings of mangled flesh. A snowman was melting at its feet, abandoned by its animating soul for a very different body. The demon rex roared hatred triumphant, declaring itself tyrant of the forest. Wilson went diving for the floor when its head swept down, trying to ram Gallerian right into the ocean. Vlad found himself in dense woods, roots in the perfect place to trip every step and every branch at head level. Aaron’s yell made him easy enough to find after the gunshot, and his stomp cleared a small path, revealing Jun. Her breath was as ragged as her coat and skirt, torn by darts and her own bladed limbs. Her arms hung nearly limp, but every time a dart came in she swung one like a whip and sliced it from the air. Even so, her movements were slowing, each shot getting a little closer to Gan. Her knees shook now, barely supporting her. Focused on what was around her, she didn’t look up, where a goblin was carefully walking to the end of a branch just over her head with a rock bigger than her skull. With a stifled chuckle, he let go and it dropped for the crown of her head.
Dan sat out of the way, watching fights too fast for the human eye to quite keep up with. He wanted to help, but he knew what would happen if he did. The ribbons around his arms told of that. His only real skill was gone, so moping in the corner felt about right. After all, there wasn’t exactly anything else he could do. He was silently watching the others fight when he noticed something about the room. It came to mind when the goo creature got itself stuck on the server. There were so many big computer banks in here, they must be running something extremely computation heavy. His eyes scanned the scientific instruments buried in the snow beneath the ceiling’s grand wound. Immediately one came to the forefront of his attention; a whole bank of controls peeking from the snow, a computer monitor built in and connected to the servers by chords that swarmed over the floor like vines. He waddled over, keeping a hand on his stretched pants and clumsily kicking through snow. Luckily, none of the fighters were particularly close now, giving him plenty of time to work his way over and dig through the snow until he had a good look at the terminal. His digging revealed three important features; two poles with what looked like satellite dishes facing one another and a slot for entering a card. He entered the card he picked off of the fallen guard and was greeted with an angry beep. “Security Clearance too low”, text on the monitor read. Dan grumbled, taking a step back. Maybe he’d let Arthur take a look at it. After all, he knew computers. In the meantime, he’d keep digging and see if he found anything else. He vaulted over the terminal to shove away snow between the two poles. He was beginning to uncover some sort of metal disk, presumably a platform to stand on when using the machine, when he uncovered a strip of cloth. Curious, he focused on that area and found the cloth to be part of an entire shredded outfit, everything torn to scraps. His first thought was that one of the monsters in the vaults got whoever the clothes belonged to, but there was no blood and that didn’t make a whole lot of sense either way. His second thought was that it didn’t matter what happened, because there was an ID card clipped to a loose shred of coat. He greedily grabbed it off the ground and stuffed it into the card reader, cheering when these words came up on the monitor: “Hello, Dr. Patil.” An entire menagerie of options for him to select showed up, from running the device (impossible with no test sample, it warned) to reading the experiment log. After a few preliminary prods confirmed it was a touch screen, he opened the log. The early logs were technical gibberish about creating the device, completely indecipherable to layman’s eyes. Before long, however, there were the details of test runs, and those he understood. Deity Essense Analysis and Enhancement Device (DEAED) tests: - Test 1. Sample- Chip of Thor’s hammer. Target- Agent Sherrison’s tactical axe. Results- Axe comes back within 20 seconds when thrown. Head is mildly electrical, enough to kill test fruit flies. Notes- Not as impressive as I was hoping. Agent Sherrison is happy though.
- Test 2. Sample- Seraph feather. Target- Kitchen knife. Results- Knife melted. Notes- I don’t want to move onto living things until we guarantee that this machine can be used safely.
- Test 3. Sample- Seraph feather. Target- Kitchen knife. Results- Knife produces great heat when cutting. Notes- I think we have worked out the kinks in the machine. It is time to test upon a living being.
- Test 4. Sample- Lock of Agent Crown’s hair. Target- Rat. Results- Rat’s eyes become gold. Testing revealed quicker healing, quicker maze-runs, and aggressive reactions towards anybody speaking distruth in its presence. Notes- Yes! Yes, this is exactly what I wanted! This is our most successful test yet! Tomorrow comes the proper application of this machine. I have chosen a safe deity, one who only brings joy. I, too, see joy in the future!
- Test 5. Sample- Tuft of Santa Claus’ beard. Target- Dr. Patil. Results-
Dan tapped the screen, looking for more information, but it was not forthcoming. The log ended abruptly there. He got the picture, though. That thing Santa had shown them, that pseudoclaus, it was Dr. Patil, transformed by his own machine. Dan only had two questions now. One, could that be reversed? Two, where was that rat? Seeking answers, he crept along the edges of the room, seeking to follow the janitor. He had gone right around the corner, and it seemed like he knew plenty about what was going on here.

Sharp pain, cramps, bleeding. Osechi felt everything inside her move, even her bones were being set back in the proper place. Naturally, this made her squirm, why did she have to suffer that much?. Still, she didn't want to leave the knight alone. If the sugar hag had done that to her, her precious cookie was in grave danger. As her first leg was set back in its place, Osechi got up, or at least, she attempted to.
It was a clumsy attempt, like that of a newborn calf, but she was able to move again. There was still some clear damage that refused to heal. Her broken ribs would surely take a lot longer before being again in a stable condition, and her right leg was still half broken. Without much thought, she limped her way towards the sugar hag, attempting to latch herself on her back, once she got there, she would begin to much away.
Osechi's bite was easily her strongest weapon, far beyond what any mundane animal could even dream of achieving with their jaws. No matter the substance, once it got inside her mouth, it was almost as if it had disappeared out of existence. If the sugar hag was actually made of anything resembling sugar, Osechi would heal much faster.
"Aaron? God damn..." - Gan said in disbelief as he noticed what he had just done.
Gan dropped his pistol and looked upwards completely defeated, how much more would he fuck up? first, he got Jun into this mess, and now he had shot his own teamate...the one guy he had promised not to drag down anymore.
He felt a bursting anger and clenched his fist to the point of making it bleed. His guard on the entire trip was completely down. Truth be told, being with Jun made him forget altogether about the mission and the dangers that came with it. how could he have been so careless?!
As he mustered up the last of his strenght, Gan saw the rock being dropped over Jun's head, it was something that happened in a matter of seconds, but he knew that if that thing were to hit Jun straight on, it would cause serious damage. He extended his arm and blasted the rock away with a Ki blast that kept going into the distance. Now Gan knew he was done. the Ki energy that was slowing down the Venom was used to destroy that thing. In a matter of seconds his condition worsened. Gan squirmed in pain, blood began to pour out of his mouth and his breathing was completely uneven. Was he really gonna die in a place like this? He was truly at the mercy of fate.

“Balloon? Now that’s a new one.” Caroline remarked to the dwarf, noticing how her venom was beginning to take effect. It was only a matter of time now before he was fully immobilized. What she didn’t expect was the dwarf swinging his body like a deadly flail and sending the axes toward her. Caroline was taken off guard by this bizarre tactic and held up her knife to try and deflect, but the weight behind the axe was too great, shoving aside the knife and ripping across her left arm. The coat, skin and muscles beneath were sliced through, only a small amount of flesh hanging on at the far end of her arm. But it wasn’t the horrific body manipulation that caused Caroline pain, but the severed golden string woven through the muscle.
“Aaaaaaagh! So that is how you want to play, is it?” A glare descended down Caroline’s face. Her snake-like eyes were now devoid of the good-natured look they had for the majority of the trip. “If you won’t cooperate with me when I’m nice…” Digging her right foot into the ground, Caroline whipped her body to the left of the dwarf, attempting to drive her knife directly into the dwarf’s lungs. “Then perhaps you’re better off with this treatment.” She hissed. Caroline was about to drive the knife into his other lung, but a nearby explosion made her look over, pulling the knife out and moving away several meters to see what was going on.
---
“Yes!” Erin shouted with glee. She managed to get out, cut off the arm, and it was stuck to the server! Her celebration was short lived though, as the slime creature began to write. “What are you doing?” The HWIC agent asked, knowing full well that it wasn’t going to respond back. The explosion made Erin duck to avoid the resulting slime chunks flying through the air, peering behind a nearby server to see what happened.
The bizarre skeletal figure before her seemed mostly humanoid, especially compared to the slime form. “Uh...hello?” Erin tried to call to it. Could it be possible that the skeleton inside was a prisoner of the slime? Any hope of that went out the window when it sprang forward with surprising agility. Erin hurriedly raised her scythe to try and knock it away, but the speed was difficult to deal with. “Uh, petals! Right!” Erin attempted to summon any amount of petals in front of herself to catch the beast off guard, but her concentration was completely off. What was she supposed to do here?!
Before Erin could attempt to swing her scythe, she suddenly felt her feet leave the ground, her body whisked away as if some heavenly hook came down and yanked her out of the way. The HWIC agent looked up to see Caroline holding her up by the shoulder with one arm. “Wha, what happened to your arm?!” Erin blurted out. Caroline let out a casual chuckle. “This? Just a little cut, don’t worry.” She reassuringly patted Erin’s shoulder with her good arm.
“More importantly, you seemed to have gotten into quite the fight. How about we team up from here on?” Caroline asked, Erin looking on with wide eyes at the beast, who was surely about to attack again. “You sure? I can take care of this myself! Probably. No, I totally can!” Gaaaaaaaaah, why can’t I just talk normally to people?! She just had to save me! She probably thinks I’m an incompetent HWIC agent now! Thoughts raced through Erin’s mind like a whirlwind. Caroline only smiled in response.
“Maybe you can, but do you have to? Maybe I want to help you all out. We all signed up for this to save Christmas, no?” Caroline propped Erin up against a nearby server, stepping back. “I don’t know your circumstances, but I have seen you are a strong, kind and beautiful person. You don’t have anything to prove to me or anyone else, Erin.” Caroline smiled once more, Erin staring for several seconds, then nodding her head.
“Erm...thanks.” Erin could feel her face growing hot. “You’re very welcome. Now how about we deal with the impending threat before we’re both sliced to bits, hm?” Caroline casually asked, Erin springing into action. “Right! I can try to trap it in a cage of petals, but I need you to keep it busy. Can you do that?” Erin asked, confidence in her eyes. “Now that’s the tone I like! Just don’t take too long.”
And with one quick pat to Erin’s back, Caroline dashed forward to try and slice at the creature’s back to get its attention. Erin began to concentrate upon the area, forming a thin wall of petals nearby and beginning to expand it around, attempting to form a circle around their opponent and Caroline. Her eyes drifted to the right, not sure if the dwarf was beaten yet or not.

"Don't get ahead of yourself! I've been doing this for ages!" Arthur lunged forward. The catman's blades rose to protect him, knocking Arthur's own aside. And then, thud!
Arthur stopped tumbling when his butt found the wall. He was lying his back, his legs propped against the wall, his forehead was throbbing and it felt colder than usual. He didn't need to touch it to know he was bleeding.
“You… clumsy maniac!" the assassin yelled. "My perfect partner would never do something so absurd!”
"I'll have you know you're the one who's brilliant idea of defense ignored the laws of physics. You wanna dance, learn to follow your partner." That's when Arthur saw the catman appearing more beastly, more wild. Not the cute Becky style of wild though. More of a tear you to shreds kind of wild.
The catman lunged forward at the still lying Arthur. He swung his swords, but they met ice. They bit into Arthur's shoddy impromptu wall nearly cleaving it in two. Another strike would pierce it. Arthur placed his feet flat against the wall and pushed himself into a roll, wincing as he felt the cut on his leg again. Mid roll, just as he was under the catman's stomach, he kicked out with both legs to send him into the ceiling. If he succeeded, he'd toss a frost ball at the assassin to freeze him up there. If he failed, he'd try to scramble through the assassin's legs to at least get back up behind him.
Chucking energy balls blindly was no use. Aaron knew that. Long range was never his thing, really. Getting in there, punching the other guy's lights out in a straight up brawl, that was his style. But with his injured leg, he couldn't exactly charge in. No, now that they knew he was here, even at full health it would be useless. So what the fuck could he now? Think... Think... That was hard to fucking do with the sound of darts hitting his cover though! Then, a glint of inspiration appeared in his eye for no one to see. He looked at the tree he was standing behind. It was one of the smaller trees around here... Perhaps...
He cupped one of his hands and placed it sideways on the tree. Pink energy started glowing around his hand and the tree started sizzling. With his other, he fired bolts of energy at the base of the tree then at a part of the tree a couple of meters above his own head. He did it for somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds, but it still felt too long. Then the glow around his hands disappeared, replaced by a glow on his chest. The hand against the tree was now gripping a burnt-in handhold and with the power of Asmoedus behind it, he pushed up and forward. The tree's weakened base cracked and gave in quickly. Even after that though, the tree was heavy. Aaron wasn't sure how long he could hold it for. But it would have to be long enough.
"Here I come, you filthy scumsuckers!" He yelled to grab their attention, get them off of Jun and Gan. He charged forward, holding the tree like a shield. Then, getting close to one of the goblins, he swung it sideways like a baseball bat. If it connected, the burned top part would surely also fall off. If the load was lightened like that, it would give him at least a few extra seconds of holding that shield.

My, my... So you show your true colors, dear - The angel said, making the pheromones to stop. Opening his wings, he took fly to gain distance but that wasn't fast enough to avoid getting hit and he was sent flying towards the ocean. Making a pentagram to stop his fall the angel once again stood with wings ready to fly again. So the jokes and playing were finally over. Taking his axe the angel was ready for the next attack. First he needed to figure out how this enemy moved, it was a first considering he never saw a dinosaur... and neither one possesed by a demon. This was going to ruin the clothes Chloe made for him... but he didn't have enough time to change his attire...
In the moment the globlin threw the rock, Vladimir was cursing inside, he wasn't fast enough to prevent that hit. The best he could do was to close his eyes to not see the smashed skull of his ally, one of his hands however, send a magic ball charged with electricity towards the gobling. Gallerian could heal her... no, he was busy with the dinosaur... Maybe a spell from the Ancient Book could restore... no... she'll be dead until he finds--
But thankfully, Gan was fast enough to destroy the rock in mere seconds.
He felt the air returning to his lungs, the only thing he could do now was to take Jun and Gan, inside a dome. Many white pentagrams appeared, surrounding the trio. He took the two feathers left, he clicked his tongue... that angel was still playing tricks, it didn't matter. He didn't feel worth enough to even be healed, he was feeling again just like when he encountered the first snowman back on London.
Don't move, this is from Gallerian, it's going to heal you - He said to Gan while placing the feather on his chest, even if they were being sorrounded by the attacks, the dome was strong enough to tolerate the primitive weapons, he didn't know how powerful Gallerians powers were anymore, less in the state Gan and Jun were. So it was up to luck, in any case, he could use some of his own magic to heal them, but that would decrease his stamina a lot. For as long as he could save energy to move and fight hand in hand that was enough, no more magic would be allowed after healing them or otherwise he'll collapse - You too, Miss Li - He said, a headache started to annoy him at the back of his head, product of the stress caused by the situation. If Aaron were to join them, the dome will allow him to trasspass so they could think for a plan for a few minutes before the ex-paladin get exhausted.

“Yes! Pop, evil ballon! Pop!” The dwarf half-laughed, half-choked. His arms were too stiff to lift already. He could only stumble forward into Caroline’s knife. His own weight pushed it through his ribs, only the handguard stopping it from sinking further. Two massive blades dropped from his hands to sink into the floor and he tipped over, supported only by Caroline. “Evil balloon… why…” She withdrew her knife and he toppled, leaving Caroline free to help Erin. The beast crashed when Erin was ripped out of its way, landing on its face and arms, sliding that way until it hit another computer bank. It came up snarling just in time for Caroline to slash its bony body, her blade opening a shallow cut for a lime-green smoothie of blood and little black bits of bone to leak from. It howled, stumbling until it spun to flash its claws at her face. Slender and frail, its body was already being slowed by her venom, but fear pushed it forward. It charged without pause, slashing wildly at Caroline as petals spread.
The Knight had been driven to the doors of the vaults, completely unable to stop the Sugar Hag’s forward momentum. Her every strike pushed him back and turned fragments of his body into particles in the air. Another mighty smash pulverized his arm, sending his mace spinning away. An arm bigger than the Knight’s whole body drew back to smash him into oblivion. It stopped when a tiny jolt of pain sparked in her back. Her pause became panic when the pain grew greater. Osechi’s jaws ground through her tough crust of skin, spraying slime sweeter than any sugar into her mouth. Ribbons of white slime splattered the ground, making a Jackson Pollock painting from her blood. One massive arm tried to grab Osechi off, but with its mass, it could barely bend at all, let alone enough to reach her. She changed tact, turning her back to the vault door and jumping backwards, trying to smash the little god upon her.
The catman was caught off guard by Arthur’s move. Instead of attempting to counter with blades and ice, he moved underneath. Feet met his stomach, driving the air from his lungs and flinging him towards the ceiling. His sword swung down at the incoming ball of frost and it erupted. He fell, arms trapped in an icecube that drove the wind from his stomach again when it landed on him. He rolled over and scooted around, sliding around on his trapped arms with his legs angrily flailing. Arthur had not koed him, but he was just as out of the fight as if he had.
Wilson sprang back up from the sand when the beast barreled past him, focused on the angel. His lungs were too tired to grow again, so he ran after. The demon rex ignored him, coal-like eyes focused right on Gallerian. The spinosaurs scattered, diving back into the ocean in its wake. It made a single bite with the intent of cracking Gallerian right in half.
Jun didn’t see the rock falling at her skull. At this point she was barely catching the incoming darts. So when Gan fired past her and a few pebbles came raining down, she was barely even aware. What just happened? She asked herself, but no answer was forthcoming at the moment. The sound of the tree ripping from the ground was lost on her, but not the goblins attacking. They scattered in his wake, only one still unlucky enough to be batted into oblivion by Aaron. Vlad’s lightning ball speared the arboreal goblin from his post, landing him well-done by Jun’s feet.
The darts stopped coming as the woods cleared out. Jun wobbled. A foot went out from under her and she caught herself on one knee. Every scale on her body vanished to let her skin breath and she threw her coat into the brush, gasping in the humid jungle air. “Thh… thhhank you…” She muttered, barely able to talk. How long was that? It couldn’t have been more than a minute, and she was pretty sure this was heat stroke. She needed to last longer if she was going to beat Akane.
Dan followed the janitor into the side room, finding a spartan barracks, bunked beds stacked side by side. The janitor cowered behind one, a gun pointed out at the doorway. Dan paused there, measuring his distance to the gun. Way too far. At least a few seconds. He could get off half his clip, and that would risk actually getting a lethal shot in. “Hey, I’m not here to fight you. I just have a few questions. Let’s put the gun down, kay?” Dan edged into the room, ducking back with a cacophany of swearing when a bullet struck the doorway above him, raining dust on his head. “You stay back!” The janitor yelled. “I would sooner die than give you information!” He was sweaty and pale, but there was conviction behind those words.
Great, now I have to worry he’ll shoot himself too. “Look… come on, is this really that great a deal? Living in a hole, sleeping with, what, 13 roommates?” Dan yelled around the corner. “You wouldn’t know loyalty if it bit you in the ass! They gave me everything! I was on the streets and they gave me purpose, showed me an all new world that needed me!” The janitor’s words bounced back to him. He thought for a while. So that’s what was up. Loyalty through clever recruitment. So, a cult? That didn’t seem quite right. Whatever the case, it was pissing him off. This wasn’t what he was here for! He punched people, he didn’t do complex negotiations!
Wait, a cult! I know how those work! “Your boss is in trouble, ain’t he? Tested his fancy new machine on himself and went nuts? Right now, if you know anything that could fix him, and you’re not telling us, that’s on you.” Dan spoke slowly, piecing all his words together as carefully as possible. “...in the room you were just in, there’s a box by the vaults. Code 433854. The doctor had extra notes, but we don’t have the technical expertise to work off of them.” The janitor spoke quietly, but Dan heard it all just fine. “Thanks, man. I just need two more things. One, where did the rat and the axe go? Two… repeat that code, like, ten times.” He sheepishly added.

Osechi's regen kicked into 5th gear as she began to eat the sweet body of the sugar hag. for a second her body buffed up only to regain her slender appearance right away. She could not avoid getting slammed by the sugar hag, as her chest was stuck to the hag's body, but Osechi did so knowing full well this was gonna end up becoming a battle of attrition.
"Before you can beat me, I'll...eat you!"- She said completely covered in her own blood after being smashed against the wall. Osechi took another bite, healing some of the damage again as she continued her feeding frenzy.
As the feather began to work its magic Gan slowly gained back his strenght. He slowly stood up and spoke to vlad
"For a moment I thought I was not gonna make it, It's great being able to count on you guys...let's check on the others...mistakes were made on my part."
Gan was finally able to harness ki again, he took a deep breath and powered his body enough to move regularly again, He immediately rushed back with Jun, who seemed to be completely exhausted.
"Thanks for protecting me, Jun. I'm sorry I made you go through all that...Are you feeling ok?"- He said as he set his hand on her cheek, feeling almost fever-like heat. was that a byproduct of her ability?
"Rest a little before moving, I'm here with you."- He said as he assisted her, ready to help her sit down or get up. whatever she decided.
Without leaving Jun's side, Gan looked at Aaron, trying to think of some way to apologize to him.
"I truly apologize for the accident back there, Aaron. I know this solves nothing, but it's only fair you get to do to me what I did to you"- Gan said as he unholstered his second pistol with his left hand and offered it to him.

The animalistic response to being attacked made Caroline pause for a moment. Was it possible that this creature wasn’t sentient like the others, but some strange captured animal that had been trained to fight? The thought of hurting an abused creature was sickening to Caroline, but if it continued to attack her friends, it needed to be taken out. He used her knife to slash at its incoming arms, the two trading blows as Caroline attempted to keep them both in as short a radius as possible.
“You about done over there?!” The snake doll called toward Erin, who was concentrating more than ever. Petals were quickly appearing around the two, Erin now trying to summon a few above so it couldn’t just jump out. “Just about!” Erin called over. This is it! We’re going to win! Erin thought to herself. The mental strain of trying to summon petals this precisely was far more difficult than simply summoning a massive wave and running it across the area indiscriminately. But she couldn’t do that normally.
The vicious attacks tore through Caroline’s other arm and front side, opening up more wounds that didn’t bleed. “Gaaaaaaaaah…” She muttered to herself, parrying another slash with her knife. The dome seemed nearly complete now. “Go! It’s done!” Erin yelled. Caroline deftly dove through the small opening just before a few petals were summoned to trap the creature inside. If successful, Erin would attempt to keep everything stationary until Caroline’s poison worked its way through its body.

With the catman stuck to the ceiling, Arthur relaxed for a second. He was a slippery customer, but he seemed properly taken care of for now. Arthur jumped to his feet and looked around for Erin. Her HWIC cuffs should be a more useful containment method. He saw her and Caroline dealing with the slime monster and considered helping, but they appeared to be about to finish it. And Erin seemed to be concentrating so asking her for cuffs would probably just mess it up. So instead...
Arthur looked over at Osechi wrestling with the hag. Dan wasn't anywhere in sight and the knight was battered and disarmed. Osechi was biting into the hag's back with all her might and she seemed to be doing well because of it, despite being smashed into a wall. Although the experience couldn't have been pleasant. So Arthur pointed at the hanging catman and said, “You, play nice. Try being funny and I’ll have to hurt you more.” Then Arthur decided to jump in. Literally.
Arthur jumped toward the wall the hag was slamming her back against and on the rebound, he tried kicking the creature in the back of the head to push it away before it could hurt Osechi again. Then he would jump forward, place a frostball on the floor, and axe kick the hag down onto the floor, stomach first. The frostball should explode once the hag touched it and freeze her to the ground, giving Osechi free reign over how to eat it.
---
By the time Aaron knocked a goblin away, the others already scattered. After waiting a bit, he dropped the tree. Despite the preparations he’d made, his muscles ached. Trees were heavy and not made for swinging around. His healing sigil should help with the soreness though, and with the hole in his leg. He limped over to the protective bubble Vlad made and was about to knock on it when it opened on its own, letting the vigil sigil limp inside.
Inside the bubble, Vlad already healed up Gan. Jun also seemed to be doing fine, if exhausted. Aaron sat down, too. No way in hell was he gonna trek back to help the others while he was injured. Even if sticking around posed the danger of the goblins regrouping.
Then Gan started apologizing. "I truly apologize for the accident back there, Aaron,” he said. “I know this solves nothing, but it's only fair you get to do to me what I did to you." Gan pulled out his pistol and offered it to Aaron who looked at him with a disgusted squint.
“What the fuck is wrong with you? You wanna apologize, give me money. I get nothing from shooting you.”

Woah! - The angel got his axe stuck on the dinosaurs maw, even if he tried to pull it out it wouldn't come out or neither allow him to move it. Using the force of his enemy's bite, the angel sent himself flying to have more distance. He needed to think... ugh, actually these kind of enemies were just the ideal for Chloe, he only distracted them as she aimed her pentagrams and destroyed them with sound waves. But she wasn't here!! What on Earth was he supposed to do!? It's been such a long time since he had to finish a demon alone! He needed to think carefully... freezing the water wasn't going to stop the creature, but it was a descent plan to immobilize it for a short period of time then he would need to perform an exorcism... In his mind the plan seemed really easy, but one thing is say and another do it. However, he decided to stick to his plan. If the demon had to leave his vessel at the moment the temperature drops then maybe that would make things ea--- no, he couldn't use ice, otherwise more snowmen would appear. He was doomed. So... maybe he should try to dodge that thing and try to take his axe back. Demons get tired after moving from one vessel to another, right? RIIIIGHT!?!?
Don't worry, Gallerian is not the type to let those younger than him to die especially on Christmas - The ex-paladin said, trying to catch his breath. As Gan mover over towards the girl, Vladimir cursed inside of his mind. It seemed that the feather didn't work completely on Jun. So maybe he should put a bit of himself to heal her too.
If you're still feeling unwell, I can help with that... But I won't be able to use magic anymore - He warned, even if she rejected it, there was a change Gan would insist and even Vladimir himself would do that. However he didn't expect the sudden reaction of the other two guys.
I... Agree with Mr. Dike... There is no reason to shoot you considering the situation we are involved yet - At least Aaron was logical enough to ask for money instead of punching his ally or well... shoot him. He hoped both Gallerian and Wilson were all right, they left them all alone against a dinosaur... He wondered if there was a core-like, ornament that concelead the demonic power.... if that thing existed they just needed to destroy it without having to face the demonic-rex. Still, that was too naive, novels and games were like that but not reality!

The creature’s strikes were wild and uncoordinated, only growing more so as its body stiffened. Its body hunched and its strikes threw it off balance. When Caroline evaded its grasp, it was only another few seconds before it collapsed, barely twitching, on the floor. Arthur’s assault on the sugar hag was not quite so effective, but it did draw her attention. His first kick pushed her, making her skip a few steps on one foot like the world’s biggest wobbly toddler. She turned an incomprehensive face to Arthur and his axe kick neatly slid over her rounded dome of a head. She stared at him for a second before very suddenly snapping her arm out, fingers closing to grab him out of the air. Osechi was completely forgotten, left to her own devices burrowing into the Sugar Hag’s back. Only a few more crunches would reveal something bizarre. It was green, bushy, covered on every little stalk in darker dots. It looked for all the world like a ball of broccoli, and it was right in front of her mouth now, situated where a heart should be and just a little bigger.
The Tyrannosaurus’ feet kicked up enough sand to reshape the dunes and it wheeled up the coast, mouth open wide. Its simple roar became a deafening snarl and it was upon him, very suddenly swinging its head down like a hammer, trying to smash him beneath its snout instead of snapping him up. Its eyes were locked on Gal's, aware, hateful, seeking out his very soul. Jun barely even felt Gan’s hand on her cheek. All of her skin was red and slicked with sweat, her breathing shallow, her dress open in the back to show the rose-shaped patch of scales between her shoulders. Gan helped her sit and she immediately flopped onto her back. “Yeah… gonna rest…” She closed her eyes and breathed deep, trying to keep the nausea down in the back of her throat. Despite physically feeling like shit, something good was welling up now in her chest. Yes, she had fallen, but she had saved Gan! And she did it all with a concussion to boot! She smiled, winced, and held her mouth shut. She would smile when she got her teeth fixed. Suddenly, her body began to cool.
Her eyes flickered open to see Wilson, blowing his ice-cold breath over her. Within a half minute or so, she could sit up. “Thanks Wilson… as for you.” She suddenly frowned at Gan. “I will not have you apologizing for that. You were only in such a vulnerable position at your collapse due to my own impatience. It is unacceptable that you react so to me merely doing my duty to correct my error.” She was still all blushy and red, quickly standing and bowing sharply. “In fact, I must thank you. Even in your state, you managed to protect me. That rock would certainly have left me open to a fatal blow.” She felt bad and dizzy, but she was being praised, and she really needed a shower and a nap. It would take her hours to sort out her feelings.
