Loveline looked at Ariana with pouty lips. “It has nothing to do with Elyssa. I’m enjoying this with or without her! It’s not like I don’t like adventure, you know…”
The confidence of the group made Jamie smile, the Elyssa influence making her excited that everyone was so into the adventure. "Alright, onward!" Jamie called out, pulling Cosmina into the opening and pushing the doll so she'd keep up with the group's pace. The comment Ariana made to Loveline made Jamie feel a wave of satisfaction roll through her. She was becoming a replacement Elyssa!
When the group got back to the hub area, Jamie pointed down toward the bottom of the tower, the group only able to see darkness before them. “There is the last challenge! From what I can tell…” Jamie closed her eyes, trying to decipher the scraps of knowledge she got from Elyssa. “...this is going to be a little...scary. So if any of you want to sit this one out, I’d be fine with it!” She exclaimed.
“Not a chance!” Ariana yelled.
“Sounds like a plan!” Cosmina swam backwards, away from the darkness below.
“Hey, I’ve seen scary before. How bad can this be?” Loveline said.
Glancing at the group, Jamie put her hands on her hips and looked up at Cosmina. “So you want to just hang out up here with the fishies? Don’t want to have some scary fun?” She asked, smirking confidently.
"Absolutely not!" Cosmina pouted and swam further towards the top. "I'm staying right here! No more adventure for me!"
The outburst made Jamie put her hand over her mouth, stifling a laugh unsuccessfully. “Hehehe...well, suit yourself! Just tell Elyssa we moved on without her!” And with that, Jamie began to swim down toward the darkness. At the edge where they couldn’t see more than a few feet in front of them, Jamie stopped.
“It is going to be hard to see where everyone is once we get down here...so do we want to hold onto each other or something? Or maybe I can give each of you a little piece of me so at least I know where everyone is?” Jamie asked.
“Is it safe to hold pieces of you? We won’t get sucked away like Elyssa?” Love asked. The question made Jamie shake her head in response.
“Not if I don’t want you to! Which hey, might be good depending on how you look at it! I can get you out of danger instantly!” She beamed.
“That makes sense. So we might get to see where Elyssa was all this time if we get roughed up, huh? Okay, I think you should give us pieces of yourself!”Loveline stated.
Nodding her head, Jamie held out her hand and produced two small green orbs the size of tennis balls. She placed one on both Loveline and Ariana’s shoulders, trying to not limit their ability to swim as much as possible.
“There we go! If you’re in too much danger, just say so and I can hear you! Good? Great!” And with that, Jamie led the group down into the abyss.
The area was silent...visibility slowly shrinking as they went further into the darkness. Jamie’s voice rang out across everyone’s headpieces. “Hey, is everyone still cool? I can’t see any of you anymore…” She said. Looking around, nobody could see each other either. They were now truly surrounded by darkness.

“I’d really rather you didn’t eat me.” Ariana mumbled as they began to sink. Soon, Love and Jamie faded out of view and Ariana was alone in the darkness. “Uh… I’m fine, but I can’t see anybody. Love, you out there? Follow my voice!” She peered into black, finding herself met with nothing but darkness. A tingle ran up here spine. Adventure she didn’t fear, but now she was alone. And that? That really was terrifying. Well, not truly alone. She felt movement, somewhere out in the inky water. “Love? Jamie? That you?” Ariana summoned an anchor.
She felt it move closer, pushing little waves over her, but whatever it was, it didn’t respond. Something slimy brushed by. She swung and hit nothing but water. Something hard nudged her spine. A hearty twirl caught nothing, just exposing the back of her thigh to the cold teeth that dug deep into it. The water warmed with her blood and she realized what a situation she was in right now.
Not far away, somebody else crept through the darkness. She couldn’t see any more than Ariana, but she was beginning to hear something. Something pushed through the water with many legs, stirring up the water with a massive body. Something caught her foot in a vicelike grip and began to tighten, trying to cut right through with a scissor-like grasp.

The girls descended into the final room. The light blue water, the colorful plant and animal life, the gentle atmosphere of the hub was quickly replaced by an oppressive darkness. It was so dark in the final room that Love completely lost track of her companions. In fact, she couldn't see anything at all in the darkness. Dammit, this room as basically perfect for Cosmina! Her sonar could've let her see down here better than any of them. Why did she have to chicken out now? Why did Jamie have to tell her the last room was scary?
Aside from the blinding dark, the room was also eerily quiet. Love couldn't even hear the sound of her companions swimming. Nor the sound of whatever creatures were down here with them. Jamie was right. This was pretty creepy.
The quiet was suddenly broken by Jamie's voice in her ear, asking them if they were fine. Love was relieved to hear Ariana was. Jamie, too. "I'm fine too. But, uh, sorry Riri. I can't follow your voice through the earpiece."
Happy to know they can at least still communicate, Love swam a bit down decided to do a horizontal sweep of the water just in case whatever they were looking for was deceptively floating near the surface.
“Love? Jamie? That you?” Ariana's voice suddenly came over the radio. Loveline looked around but couldn't see anything or feel anything around her. Well, she felt a strange sensation, as if something belonging to her was in the water here. But she couldn't tell what it was. Nor where it was.
"Riri? I don't see you. Is everything okay?"

Elyssa was deep underwater by the time the others swam down. She didn’t know they were down there with her now and without her communicator, there was no way for her to find out. And this time after being swallowed by the blob she didn’t even have a werewolf to skin. She had to improvise her outfit even more. Green seaweed wrapped around her chest like a sarashi in lieu of a fur top and Loveline’s cape wrapped around her hips like a makeshift pareo skirt. She had used her power to make it one of the few open slots in her Focus, which allowed her to summon a few minor objects at will. Now she could keep it around even without Love’s input, at least until she wants that slot open for something else. Her situation didn’t put a dent in her enthusiasm though.
“Weird how it dumped me in here this time...maybe I’ll run into one of the others down here!” Elyssa exclaimed.
She was sure the others would join her soon enough. And she had a feeling the object they were looking for was on the bottom of the room. But something else piqued her curiosity in the meantime; she could feel something in the darkness near her, even though she wasn’t sure where exactly.
She swam around, trying to find it. Maybe it was a floating treasure chest holding a relic like the tiny trident she found in the blob’s room. She had no idea what it did, but she knew it was special. The thing she ran into wasn’t what she was expecting, however. She slammed into something hard. She felt out its smooth and slimy surface while holding her nose through her air bubble. Then she heard clicking. Snapping. The object turned and she could make out its shape now. It was a giant crab, slimy and tentacled like a creature from Lovecraft’s stories.
It’s claw grabbed her foot and pressed, applying a crushing amount of pressure. It was going to chop it off! “Oof, bad crab! I was gonna throw you a fish, but now you don't deserve it!” She slid her fingers into small ridges between the claws and did her best to keep it at bay, but she was only so strong. As she struggled, the trident she wore around her neck started glowing. Faintly at first. Then it let loose a bright flash. The crab’s eyes, used to the darkness, were overwhelmed. “Oh, so that’s what you do!” Elyssa cradled the once-more resting trident. “I know you’d be useful.” The crab’s grip loosened from the stunning brightness, but its claw still wound up and sharply threw her through the darkness, Elyssa spiraling as she sailed into the vast sea of nothing.
---
Jamie swam downward through the abyss, listening to Loveline speak to them. "Just be careful you two! I don't know what's down there!" She called. A strange noise came from below her, so Jamie decided to swim down to investigate. Right as she began to look at what was in front of her, a figure slammed into her body and sent the two backward several meters. When it all stopped, Jamie came face to face with...herself?
"Elyssa!" Jamie called out, reaching to give Elyssa a hug...but getting a foot planted in her face. "No! Not a third time!" Elyssa said with annoyance. Jamie reeled back with surprise. "Oh...right. You weren't there at the end. I've promised to stop eating you guys! Well...sorta." Holding out her palm, Jamie slapped a tiny green orb on Elyssa's shoulder. "Since it's so dangerous down here, I said they could call my name and I'd get them out of harm's way if it got bad! I can hear through those!" She said with delight. Elyssa looked at it with interest. "...huh. So I guess you're on our side now. Great to have you on board!" And with that, Elyssa initiated the hug Jamie attempted earlier, the two pulling away after a second.
"So there is something huge that just tried to cut off my foot, so don't go that way. Do you have my communicator?" She asked, Jamie nodding and handing over the device. "There it is! Just say it's you now! I'll be seeing you...at the bottom." Smirking, Jamie pointed herself downward and began to descend, Elyssa putting on the device and beginning to speak while swimming. "Heeeeeeey, guess who's back?! How's everyone doing?" Elyssa asked into the communicator.
---
From the area just above Loveline's head, she might notice a strange change in pressure as she swam. This change soon began to change into a mild suction...which became more violent as the wide jaws of what appeared to be a massive eel enveloped her, continuing along its path toward the bottom of the abyss. The inside of the creature's mouth is incredibly dark, with grey flesh along the sides that funnel into its throat. The current of water would attempt to push Loveline down into it.

Ariana pressurized the water in front of her to send a shockwave rippling through, smashing away the thing biting her leg. She couldn’t see how much blood she was losing, but it certainly hurt, wounds stinging especially unpleasantly in the salty water. "I'm okay, Love! I'm only bleeding a little, I think." Ariana winced as every movement of her leg drew cold water over her wounds.
“Okay, I can do this. I’ve got this.” Ariana slowly turned in the water, raising an anchor of ice to smash whatever lurked in the darkness when it returned. Then the communicator in her ear spoke. “Elyssa!? You’re back already!? Where are you?” It was weird to have two Elyssas now, but that wasn’t something she could think about now. “I got bit by something and I’m kinda trying to fight it right now, so… call me back?” Ariana paddled back.

Bleeding a little? Love got the feeling Ariana was slightly understating it even if she couldn't see the damage. More importantly, it sounded like she could use help. But how's she supposed to figure out how to get to her? Love pondered it for a second. She recalled that Ariana was to her right as they swam down. So even though they got separated, Ariana was still probably somewhere to her right. And not far from the surface since whatever was attacking her probably didn't give her a chance to do much swimming.
Having decided she'd try swimming to the right and hope to run into Ariana, she started feeling something sucking her inside. It was weak at first, but the pull quickly grew stronger. "Wait, what's-" And she was sucked inside a giant eel. She rolled across its tongue after being sucked in. Its slippery surface didn't help her stop and the next wave of water crashing into her only served to pull her further in. Thinking quickly, she turned her hands into sharp claws and dug them into its tongue, leaving red tracks behind as she slowed herself down.
A part of her felt bad about it. After the Scylla debacle (and Ariana's reaction to it), she was starting to feel very conscious about the pain she was causing these animals. Just as she managed to stop herself from sliding deeper inside, Elyssa's voice popped inside her earpiece. Ariana's excitement hurt just a bit. Just enough to make Love feel somewhat guilty over it, but she beat her feelings down and answered Elyssa.
"I think I'm about to do a solo recreation of Pinocchio, but I'm doing fine." Her claws sank into the whale's tongue while she pulled herself against the current toward the large opening. "Um, I have your swimsuit. And your hat. If we meet up soon, you can have them back. Can you see anything around you that could tell us where you are?"
She continued struggling against the constant splashes of water the eel was sucking in and just as she got close to its mouth, the eel shook and stopped moving. Did it hit something, Love wondered. She crawled outside into surprisingly warm water and felt softness under her feet. It took a second for her eyes to adjust to the situation. The place she was standing on was covered in veins of glowing magma and it was covered in sand. So the eel landed onto the sandy bottom? Well that was convenient. Or wouldn't been if it didn't mean she was not very unsure of where to go to get to Ariana...
"Girls, I think I'm at the bottom. But, uh, I'm not sure where at the bottom. I'm going to the right. I hope I run into you, or whatever it is we're looking for here."

“Bleeding?! Hang in there, Ariana! These things usually aren’t too smart!” She said, concerned that her team were doing this all in total darkness. Jamie had already disappeared into the darkness, so Elyssa was about to start swimming downward...when Loveline began talking. “You’re...what now? If you got swallowed by a whale, wait until it hits a wall and you’ll fall out!” Elyssa called out. “And thanks, I’ll get my stuff when we meet each other again. Just don’t lose it!” And with that, Elyssa began to swim downward once more. “Next time I see that blob, I swear…” She grumbled. She couldn’t prepare everyone for this environment because of that dang blob!
“It’s nothing, really, I-Ow!” Ariana ran headfirst into a solid wall in her rush to escape the biting fish. She rubbed her nose and began finding her way down, feeling along the wall. Despite the sting, she was glad to find a wall down here. It meant there were actual boundaries. It wasn’t just some endless void. She scurried down until something suddenly nudged her side. She yelped and took a swing, hitting nothing but water. Something whinnied in the dark, nudging her again. In the dim light, she saw a snout longer than her arm prodding her from the dark. The rest of a strange body emerged slowly, front half vaguely equine, back half clearly like a dolphin. The entire body was covered in little frilly fins resembling ragged seaweed, clearly fitting with its bright green and yellow coloration to disguise it. It stared at her with huge, dark eyes and nudged her once more, gesturing with its head to its elongated back. “Uh? You… want me to ride you?” Ariana gently reached out and pet the strange sea-horse’s nose. It just continued to stare expectantly. “Alright, but if you throw me off, I’m gonna be mad!” She swam aboard and immediately it shot upwards. “Woah!” Ariana grinned as the water pressure pulled her back, forcing her to cling with all her might. She wanted to direct it back at her aquatic rival, but it instead turned midway through, exposing a little spot of golden light. “Huh? Is that… Elyssa!” She yelled in delight before fully comprehending Elyssa’s state of dress. The horse nuzzled Elyssa, nibbling at the seaweed on her chest, while Ariana blushed furiously, casting her eyes anywhere but her idol. “Ah, you, ah, uh, Loveline has your, hey, stop that!” She tugged on the seahorse’s leafy mane in an attempt to get it off of Elyssa.
The sudden appearance of a sea creature made Elyssa summon her grappling hook, ready to fire at whatever was about to challenge her...but relaxed when she heard Ariana’s voice. “Hey, Ariana! How are you d…” Her eyes traveled down to see the strange creature nibbling at the seaweed wrapped around her chest. Elyssa immediately jumped back, making sure the rest of it was still secured tightly. “Yeah, I heard her over the speaker. I see you found a little friend there!” She said, impressed at the steed. “Yeah, it’s really cool! No idea what it is.” She pat the creature’s side. “Seems like it’s tame, whatever it is.” Elyssa put her hand on her chin and studied the creature. “Yeah...looks like a hippocampus. They like to make friends with other creatures, hoping to join their pack and scavenge around. Oh yeah, that reminds me…”
Swimming up, Elyssa wrapped Ariana into a hug. “You had me worried back there, talking about blood! Oh, I should take a look at that…” She began. “...Elyssa, please let go.” Ariana squeaked, stiff and straight as a rod. The hippocampus joined the hug, putting its head behind Elyssa to squeeze her in. Elyssa let out a small chuckle and broke the hug. “Right...sorry about that. Least he seems to be friendly.” She smiled, petting the side of the strange animal. “So, did I miss anything up top?” Elyssa asked, cocking her head. “Uh… nothing that important. I guess Jamie, uh, the blob is our friend now?” Ariana shrugged. “For now anyway. I was worried she’d eat Anna and become a jerk!” The thought of the blob eating Anna horrified Elyssa. “Yeah...we don’t need that in our lives. You’ll have to show me what you won from that race later! So uh...mind if I hitch a ride?” She asked, trying to figure out if two people could ride this thing. “Of course! Just, uh… watch your seaweed.” Ariana grabbed Elyssa’s arm and pulled her onto her steed behind herself. Elyssa jumped on and was about to grab Ariana’s stomach...but remembered what she was told earlier and grabbed onto a bump of the sea creature to steady herself.
Pointing one hand downward, Elyssa grinned with pride. “Now my captain, take us down into the abyss! There be treasure down there, I just know it!” She beamed. “I’m the captain!?” Ariana’s eyes glittered. “Alright then! Just watch out for weird fish!” Ariana patted the hippocampus’ side, and once again it dove.
---
Down at the bottom of the abyss, Loveline would feel the water growing colder as she swam along the path she chose. The light coming from the magma veins was slowly fading...returning Loveline to the darkness she was in before. But strangely...a singular light illuminated from a square platform directly in front of her, surrounded by a square 'moat' of magma veins. On top of the pedestal was a strange brass helmet with red lenses for eyes. Suddenly, Loveline would hear voices coming from above.
"Heeeeeeeeeey, Loveline! You beat us here!" A familiar voice sounded. From above, Loveline would see both Ariana and Elyssa swimming down to join her. Elyssa whistled when she saw the helmet on the pedestal. "So that's what was down here, huh? Nice work!" Elyssa beamed. Ariana seemed to be swimming around in a wide circle around the platform aimlessly. Elyssa looked at Loveline with a strangely blank expression. "Oh right, mind handing those over?" She asked, beginning to swim toward Loveline. If Loveline really concentrated...she might see that a thin tube was floating behind Elyssa's head.

Ariana rocked back and forth, beaming harder than a thousand toothpaste ads. Elyssa let her be in charge! She couldn’t contain her giggles as they dove through the depths. Her chortling was cut short when something came into view. She hadn’t seen it before, but she knew what lay below was the creature that attacked her before. Its body was black and slimy, textured like a wet balloon. Transparent fins ran along its back, rippling in invisible currents. Its face, however, was hard and white, like porcelain, shaped like a human mask.
“How was that thing biting me?” Ariana asked out loud. Her question was answered a second later when a jagged line appeared down the center of the “mask” and it split open, revealing vicious teeth. “Cool!” Ariana yelled, even as she summoned her anchor and dropped it right at the creature. It darted out of the way with ease and whipped itself upwards, lunging for Elyssa’s exposed midriff, mouth wide enough to wrap all the way around.

The veins of magma slowly disappeared, making Loveline question if she was going the right way. Her worries were soothed when she ran into a glowing platform. Those are usually a good sign. And even more pleasingly, Ariana and Elyssa appeared. And... And... What was Elyssa wearing? Was that Loveline's cape she was wearing as a revealing skirt? And that chest wrap? It was certainly enough to make Love blush. And she met Ariana while wearing that...
"Yeah, I just told you," Love said with a trembling lip. "I didn't think you'd get here so quickly too, though." Love looked at Ariana who was strangely quiet. She didn't even say hi. Or mention getting hurt. She was just swimming 'round and 'round the pedestal.
Something wasn't right.
"Hey, where's Jamie?" she asked, sending an illusion to deliver "a swimsuit" while the real her disappeared. These two were acting strangely. Or maybe Love was just seeing things. Or maybe something happened while the two were together without her... Whatever was the case, if Love was wrong, she could just give Elyssa the real swimsuit afterwards, right?

“That’s the thing that attacked you?” Elyssa asked, studying the strange creature before them. The strange mix of features was fascinating to observe. A smile crept on Elyssa’s face when it looked intent on attacking them. “Ariana, grab its tail!” She called out, summoning her sword and letting the fish rush at her.
When it got close, Elyssa twisted the sword to block its advance, jamming the point forward in an attempt to push the entire short sword into its mouth to hold it open. “Your move there, captain!” Elyssa called out, swimming a few feet away to respond if the fish managed to recover.
---
The expression on Elyssa’s face remained relatively blank as she swam toward the fake Loveline, ignoring the question about Jamie. “What can I say, we are quick! You should know that by now…” A strange glint appeared in Elyssa’s eyes when they approached, and before Loveline knew it, both Elyssa and Ariana were whipped upward and a powerful set of jaws clamped down on top of the illusion. The creature had a massive lower jaw with several rows of teeth that jutted out of it, its skin a deep black that barely stood out among the void. On top of its head sat two flanged appendages that held ‘Elyssa and Ariana’ at the end of each, who morphed back into simple black tubes that glowed a soft white color.
The strange lack of substance made the odd anglerfish pause, letting out a low hiss as it looked around the area. What caught its eye were the bubbles Love made when she folded her arms. She knew it. There’s not way Elyssa would be that stone-faced. The angler noticed the bubbles formed when Loveline crossed her arms and lunged at the illusionist, attempting to catch her in its jaws.

“Its tail? Got it!” Ariana darted down past the fish. It lunged right on ahead, trying to bite down. Elyssa was too quick, her sword wedging in its oversized mouth. It writhed in its attempts to dislodge the blade, but before it could, Ariana was upon it, hands wrapped round its tail. She found a cold and slippery surface, difficult to get a hold on. Quickly it initiated a test of her strength, darting around back and forth, dragging her bucking and shaking through the water. She found her grip slipping, bit by bit. Water turned to ice around her hands, keeping her tight to the tail.
The ice climbed up bit by bit, freezing more and more of the monster until only its head was exposed. It continued to wriggle as it slowly floated upwards. Ariana pried the sword from its mouth and handed it back to Elyssa as the creature vanished in the dark above. “She won’t be getting out of that anytime soon!” She clapped her hands with satisfaction. “So! Have you seen Love? Or Jamie, I guess.” Ariana asked before remembering something. “Oh right! Hey Love, you know where you are?” She used her communicator to speak directly in Loveline’s ear.

Caught off guard by the creature's sudden strangely accurate lunge, Loveline could only flap her arms once to try and escape. It wasn't enough. Her legs got caught in the massive jaws and she could feel the teeth sinking into the flesh. Her scream was drowned in the water. Her hands turned into claws and she desperately scratched at the fish's face. At the same time, her legs started morphing. They grew thinner but tougher, shifting around the teeth until they were nothing but rod-sized toothpicks between two pairs of teeth each. If nothing else, it stopped the pain of being bitten into. But she could still feel the jaws trying to crush them.
Hearing Ariana's voice over the communicator didn't help her. "Bottom," she answered with what little composure she could muster. "Somewhere. Hurry!" And still, she kept clawing at the fish in the hopes it would let her go.

Elyssa watched as Ariana froze the fish in her grasp, letting it go to float back up toward the surface. She placed her hands on her hips as she looked up with satisfaction. "Nice one, Ariana! You got rid of it perfectly!" Placing her right hand under her chin, Elyssa listened to Ariana asking if she's seen anyone, and then Loveline's response over the communicator. Judging by the barely-composed nature of Loveline's speech, things weren't going great for her.
Jumping back onto the seahorse, Elyssa blew out a few bubbles to deduce which way was down and pointed toward the bottom. "I saw Jamie a few minutes ago, but we need to head straight down and find Love! Come on, let's save her!" Smirking, Elyssa waited for Ariana to take the reigns once more and lead them toward the bottom.
---
The giant angler reeled when Loveline began to scratch at its face, but Loveline didn't swim away fast enough for it to not counterattack. But just before the angler could bite into her once more, a large fist slammed into the angler's side, sending it reeling. Jamie swam downward to join Loveline, giving her a thumbs up.
"Hey, finally made it! Didn't keep you too long did I?" She asked confidently. The angler let out a deep growl as it sized up the newcomer. Looking to the side, Jamie pointed to the treasure. "Loveline, the treasure! Grab it so we can get out of here!" She ordered. The angler had finally recovered by this point, and swam toward Jamie with its mouth wide open, face illuminated by the two lights hanging from its head.
---
From above the battle, Ariana and Elyssa would finally be able to see the illuminated lights of the angler. "Careful, Ariana..." Elyssa warned, patting the seahorse. "There aren't too many street lamps down here. So steer clear of that...and downward!" Elyssa called out, eyes adjusting to the new environment.

Loveline sway away from the angler, but she was too fast. She saw it's massive jaw opening up for another go and bam. The growled in pain as it was pushed away. Elyssa came- No, Jamie came to Loveline's rescue. Apparently Jamie was a lot closer to the real Elyssa than one would think; she had the exact same sense of dramatic timing and flashy heroics. The same flashy heroics that Elyssa used on Ariana.
"Thanks, Jamie. Keep it busy!" Love swam towards the treasure with webbed hands and feet for added speed. The helmet was closer. Closer. She just had to reach out and grab it!

“Of course! Let’s save Love!” Ariana patted the neck of the hippocampus and it wheeled in the water to dive straight down. It wiggled faster than Ariana could hope of swimming until plateauing near the bottom and continuing on until the lights of the angler came into view. “Anything glowy in the water is scary for sure!” Ariana nodded at Elyssa’s warning. “Hey Loveline, I’m here to help! Heads up!” Ariana sprang off of the wave-horse and the waters shoved her forward. “I’m sorry but you can’t eat my friend!” She wound up her fist and launched a maximum-strength punch, throwing off enough force that anybody nearby would be shoved back.

"...wait...how...?" It took Jamie a second to figure out how Loveline knew her from Elyssa. The massive fist she used to punch the angler probably gave it away! Her thoughts are then interrupted when Ariana came crashing through and unleashed her own punch against the angler, who crashed against the seabed below, kicking up a large cloud of sand. Between the darkness and cloud of sand, it was near impossible to spot the angler anymore.
Loveline was able to grab the helmet from its perch, Elyssa swimming up to inspect it. "Hey, glad we made it in time!" She said loudly, wrapping her arm around Loveline's shoulder. "Come on, Ariana's got a ride!" And with that, Elyssa led the hippocampus close enough so Loveline could see. "Ariana, we're leaving now!" Elyssa called into her communicator, flashing the trident in her direction to show where she was. Jamie swam up to meet with the group.
"Kind of a small horse there, guys! I think three's the limit. But hey..." Smirking, Jamie morphed her feet into a set of flippers and a set of fins on her arms. "I have some tricks. See you guys up top!" Waving, Jamie rocketed upward. Several growls could be heard around the group, the sounds of the fight drawing attention from other creatures. Elyssa leaped onto the hippocampus and waved everyone to get on. Regardless of if Ariana saw the group or not, a strange jet-black fish with the face of a squid lashed out with two talon-tipped arms, attempting to spear the icy magical girl.

Love grabbed the helmet and inspected it when an arm suddenly wrapped around her shoulder. Startled and thinking the angler fish's lure got past Jamie, Love pushed Elyssa away and got a claw ready. When she saw Elyssa's eyes and her chipper attitude, the claw retracted. Even though she was wearing the same outfit as the lure, which made Loveline blush again, that attitude was undeniably Elyssa's.
Quickly taking off Elyssa's hat, she shoved it over to Elyssa alongside her swimsuit. "Um, here. There's are yours." She averted her gaze and her hair moved to hide her red cheeks.
Soon enough, Elyssa summoned over the hippocampus she and Ariana rode in on. Strange growling started coming from all around them as the climbed aboard it. "Come on, Riri! We need to go!" She held out an arm for Ariana to grab onto.

“I got it, guys!” Ariana cheered, popping her knuckles as she looked over her work. She didn’t have long to celebrate her feat before two spear-whips dug into her stomach. “Oof!” Ariana doubled over, front of her dress quickly soaking red. Her eyes were wide with shock until she narrowed them until a glare. “It’ll take more than that…” She grabbed the tentacles, pulling the spikes out of her flesh but keeping her grip tight. “To put me down!” Ariana pulled back and began to spin, whipping the water around her to speed up even further. Her spin churned the water into a swirling whirlpool as she whipped the squid-fish around until she finally, suddenly released it like a shot-put. “See you, fishy!”

The sudden movement by Loveline confused Elyssa for a second, and after seeing Ariana getting attacked, she flipped her hat on her head and shoved her swimsuit back at Loveline. "Bad time for that right now, Love! I have nowhere to hold those right now, so just hang onto them for a little longer!" She said to the illusionist.
“Okay,” Love said bashfully and put them back on her swimsuit. It would probably be easier to change somewhere with fewer monsters, yes. And Ariana needed saving!
Elyssa waited for Loveline to take a seat before directing the creature forward toward Ariana. When they got close, Elyssa turned the creature to the right so they were parallel to Ariana. "Love, grab her!" Elyssa called out with a smirk.
Leaning over slightly, Love reached out and grabbed Ariana by the arm. “Got her!” she exclaimed. She pulled her closer, dragging her into her lap, a feat she could only do with the help of the water surrounding them. Getting to be the hero finally felt good. Finally, she one-upped Elyssa! Sorta, at least.
“Hey, I guess I got to save you now! I’m like a knight on a seahorse!” She giggled, then saw the hole in Ariana’s stomach. Her expression instantly shifted to one of worry. “Oh no,” she said. “Hold on.” She put a hand on Ariana’s stomach, feeling her firm abs and growing slightly red in the face, and used her body manipulation to close the hole.
”There. I even left a scar since I know you like those.” She pointed at a slightly discolored spot, proud of her accomplishment.
“Hang on, you two!” Elyssa said with the smirk still on her face. It was nice to give Loveline the chance to play the hero too. Elyssa directed the seahorse to begin swimming upward, the group rapidly ascending out of the abyss. As the area began to grow brighter, the hippocampus stopped ascending. Elyssa looked on with confusion for a second, then shrugged her shoulders.
“I think it doesn’t like the lower water pressure up here. Looks like we have to say bye to your little friend here, Ariana!” She proclaimed, jumping off the seahorse and patting the top of its head a few times. “Thanks for all the help down there! Soooo…” Turning her attention to the other two, Elyssa put her hands on her hips. “Are you both alright?” She asked. Elyssa noticed that Loveline repaired the damage to Ariana from that least strike, but she had to make sure everyone was alright before celebrating.

“Whoop!” Ariana yelped when pulled onto the seahorse. Her stomach wounds stung at the sudden movement and she stared down at them in dawning horror. It wasn’t very often she was actually injured and she couldn’t gauge the depth of the cuts. “L-Love, what are you-” She stammered before feeling her injuries seal away. She smiled when Love mentioned the scar she left. “Aw, thanks Love! That’ll look awesome!” She hugged Love tight as they ascended, letting go when they surfaced. “Uh… ahem.” She stood up and floated off of the horse. “Oh… I was hoping we could keep him.” She rubbed the hippocampus’ head and waved goodbye as it whinnied and turned to dive into the depths. Ariana sniffed and wiped her face. “Yeah, I’m fine. I just wanted to keep my horse.” She pouted.
