"How gro- hello, Marigold-san. I am Kasumi. How are you?" She extended a hand. Marigold took it and grabbed her arm, searching for hidden weapons. This quickly became a swift pat down, earning her a shove. "Please keep your hands to yourself." Marigold looked back at Emma. "She's safe."
Hammond realized his mistake when the curtain of darkness fell. He wildly swung his sword, but knew it was too late when his blade met no resistance. When the claws slashed through his throat, he just gurgled, sword dropping to the ground. He reached his hands to the wounds, but it was a hopeless last gesture before his head was ripped from his shoulders. His body toppled forward, his head wanting to scream in agony but incapable.
Rolling her eyes, Emma pats Kasumi on the back. "See what I mean? Ah well, ready to head off to the arena you two? Kasumi and I want to spar for a bit. Want to join in, Marigold?" Emma asks, glancing over to the silent light mage.
"Ahahahahahahaha!" Evan's maniacal laugh echoed throughout the darkness, which soon began to fade. There was a small period of complete silence, followed by Evan stepping out of the shadows, holding Hammond's head up by the hair triumphantly. Some of the crowd cheered when they saw the victor, clearly the majority of the people bet that Evan would win this one. "Was there ever any doubt?!" Evan calls out to the crowd, making them cheer even louder. Finally, he looks at Hammond's head directly. "Nice try. Come back with your girlfriend, and maybe you'll last a bit longer." And with that, Evan tosses his head dismissively back towards the rest of the body, allowing someone else to help rebuild him from this injury. Of course, Alexis would need to call the match before he could leave the arena.

Marigold tilted her head. "Aren't we there." They entered the arena in time to see Evan holding Hammond's head high. She froze and stared. "Looks like Evan just finished up a match with some guy." Kasumi stood on the far side of Emma from Marigold to avoid more unwanted touching. "Hey, what's with her? Did you not explain the matches to her?" Was it just her, or was that hoodie getting darker?
In the stands, Terry jumped to his feet, glaring down at Evan with storming eyes. "5! 4! 3! 2! 1! Evan wins!" Alexis waved and the shield dissipated. Terry jumped, landing in the arena. He looked right at Evan with hatred, but turned away and gently moved Hammond's head into the proper position.
"I thought she would remember from the orientation speech." Emma states, glancing over at Marigold. Why was her hoodie suddenly getting darker? "Uh...Marigold? Are you alright?" She asks, not knowing what exactly is going on.
Evan merely grins back at Terry's death glares, knowing there isn't much Terry could do to him either. As he steps down from the arena, a man dressed in a regal white suit leaps into the arena, and walks up to Hammond. Suddenly, Hammond's body began to glow a faint yellow light, clearly being cast by man in white. "That was a great match, Hammond. You were actually holding your ground there until the end." Adam states, his healing spell speeding up the repair process for Hammond's neck, as well as the other injuries he may have received in the fight. Looking over to Terry, he steps back slightly, allowing him to chat with Hammond without being interrupted.

Marigold looked down at her hoodie, finishing its descent into pitch black. "...see you tomorrow." She turned and ran away, right out the door and down the hallway. "You make some weird friends." Kasumi nudged Emma.
Hammond gasped in pain the instant his head reattached. It was all he could do not to scream. The healing always hurt worse than the harm itself. He managed to stop his coughing when he heard Adam's voice, sitting up with Terry's arms around his chest for support. "Really, sir?" He sure didn't feel like he had done well. He would be shocked if that fight had lasted 30 seconds and he didn't think he could stand. Terry was the only thing keeping him off the floor.
Watching Marigold leave with a concerned look, Emma folded her arms across her chest as she looked back at Kasumi. "I told you...I wonder what got into her back there. Ah well...let's go!" Slapping Kasumi mildly hard on the back, Emma runs off toward an open arena for them to spar in. She wasn't going to lose this time!
Nodding his head, Adam kneels down so he's not talking down to Hammond. "That's right. Evan's one of our strongest students at this school, so you shouldn't feel bad for losing. How goes the applications?" He asks, remembering that they mentioned that they wanted to join the guard earlier in the day.
Kasumi grinned and charged after her, jumping into the arena from the ground. "You ready to pick up your head in more pieces than that guy!?"
Hammond beamed. "He wasn't so tough." Terry lightly tapped him on the head. "Never do that again." Hammond smiled and bumped him with his own head. "You can't stop me. We're going to work on the applications after class." He tried to stand, leaning on Terry for support. He managed it and smiled at Adam. "I look forward to working with you." Alexis gave an odd look from the ring side, leaning her face and arms on the ropes.
Flipping into the arena herself, Emma gets into a fighting stance, grinning back at Kasumi. "In your dreams! Your head's gonna be dust compared to that guy's!" Waiting for Kasumi to get into a stance herself, Emma readied herself for another amazing fight.
Giving a small nod, Adam gave a small wave as he began to walk away. "I look forward to it as well. I must deal with some guard duties now, good luck with the applications!" As he left, notices Alexis staring at him, and casually walks up to her ring she is leaning against. "Hello again, mrs. Primrose. Is everything alright?"
Emma extended the spikes attached to her gloves, grinning back at Kasumi when she also appeared ready. "You know it! Let's go!" Sprinting forward, Emma tries to leap into the air and give a hard right hook to Kasumi's side. "Gotcha!" She yells as she closes in.
"I'll treat them with respect, just like all my other fellow guardsmen." Noticing that Alexis was glaring at him, he lowers his eyebrow slightly. "Is something the matter? Are you angry with me for something?" He couldn't remember wronging Alexis in any way, so this was confusing to him.
Kasumi darted forward when Emma jumped to grab her leg and spin her into the ground. "That it? Come on Emma-chan, you know better than that!" She attempted to straddle Emma and pummel her face with both fists, leaving her blade in its scabbard.
Alexis shrugged. "Whatever, goody two shoes. Maybe I'm just a bit on edge from the fight. Want to help me blow off some steam? I'll even let you land a hit or two before I vivisect you." "Word of the day." Becky piped in before going back to playing chase with a huge black dog with long ivory horns. "Don't get her all wound up. That goes for you too, Becky."
Feeling Kasumi grab her leg mid-air, Emma leans backwards as she is slammed into the ground, causing herself to do a quick backwards roll to escape the straddle. "Hey, just try'in out new things here!" Running back at Kasumi, Emma keeps her feet on the ground this time as she lunges forward for a forward gut punch.
Shaking his head, Adam looks back at Alexis. "I apologize miss Primrose, but I must attend to some of my guard duties now. Perhaps we can spar another time." As he begins to leave, the guard captain stops to pet the large dog on it's head, making sure to let it sniff his hand first.
Kasumi let out a grunt of pain when the fist burrowed into her abdomen. She grasped for the fist that struck her and began spreading ice from the point of contact. She finally went for her short sword, lashing it from its sheath to smack Emma in the nose with the pommel before bringing it to a one handed stance ready to slice her neck.
Alexis shrugged. "Bah, you'd not stand a chance anyway." She stayed where she was and let Adam pet her summon, smiling a little when Whiplash nuzzled him. She smiled less when she heard the conversation behind her. "I'm fine, Terry. We've both had worse." She frowned and patted Becky's shoulder. "Come on Becky, we need to get going." She waved her hand and Whiplash sank into the shadows. "Let's go home." The two walked together from the room, leaving nothing but the sound of battle.
As Kasumi brought her sword to slice her neck, Emma grinned and threw a sharp left hook to knock away her hand swinging the sword. "This trick again, Kasumi? Not gonna work this time!" A few months ago, she had used this same tactic and managed to win by taking Emma by surprise. Now, she was anticipating it.
Kasumi yelped when her hand involuntarily opened in pain. Her sword clattered to the ground with deafening noise. She jumped back to avoid getting pummeled any more and raised her hands above her head. "Gizaru, I need you!" A little halo of light appeared a above her head and out sank a square based pyramid. It resembled the pyramid on the dollar bill with its single eye staring blankly from just below its tip. A small, insectiod limb waved at each corner of its body, and a white mist seeped from its base, pouring over Kasumi. It seemed to infuse her, frosting her skin while and making her eyes burn blue. "You feel that chill, Emma? It's me about to freeze your ass off!" She aimed both hands and fired off a beam of pure cold, Gizaru making a sweep with an eyebeam that hopefully cut off her escape route.
"Summon time, eh? Fine with me!" Emma calls out as she summons a small pink bird, which lands on her shoulder. Instantly, a light pink aura began to radiate out from Emma, increasing her strength and speed by a considerable margin. "My ass is goin' nowhere! But yours will be kicked to next week!" Diving forward at blinding speeds, Emma avoids the sweeping beam and punches forward, temporarily blocking the beam with her fist, but chilling it harshly in the process. With her now numb right arm, she spins out of the way of the beam and sprints at Kasumi, ready to unleash a flurry of punches with her good left arm and now numb right one.
Kasumi cursed when Emma used one arm to defend everything else as she charged. This wasn't well thought out. She raised her arms to block the punches, but went flying anyway. She found herself sliding out of the ring on the ice her own body automatically created. "Ah! Fuck!" She fell on her head and tumbled away painfully. Grumbling, she waved her hand and Gizaru drifted back into an icy portal. Pulling herself into a sitting position, she saw a photo stuck in the ice next to her. She pulled it free and looked at it, quickly tossing it away. "Oh, shit. Our school's about to get burnt down."
Alexis stepped out of her room, blazing red hair carefully pulled into a ponytail and long, cape like shirt tight and neat. Becky followed with sleepy eyes, no makeup, and her clothes half buttoned. "Are you ready for school, Becky?" "No." The duo hugged and parted in the hall when they reached Alexis' first class, and Becky wandered off to go sleep and be surly in hers. Alexis nodded to the pale woman at the front of the class and slipped into her desk. It was a few moments before she realized the strange looks she was seeing, the little giggles that vanished when she spun to face them. What was going on? She shrugged it off and opened her notes. Not that weird, unfortunately.
Yawning loudly, Ashlea lazily rolls out of her bed and stumbles her way into her dorm room's bathroom. After her morning activities, she steps out of the bathroom, looking clean, confident, and ready to take on whatever was going to happen that day. "Ok! I've practiced this water breathing spell all week...I can't fail this test!" Opening her door, Ashlea stops dead in her tracks when she sees a photograph hung on the wall outside her dorm room. Stepping toward it, the fire mage quickly rips it off the wall and stuffs it into her pocket. Could that really be the only one posted? One glance to the side confirmed her fear...there were a few hung every few feet. "...I gotta tell her about this!"
Sprinting down the hallway, Ashlea takes out her whip and slashes at the photographs she passes by, lighting them on fire to hopefully destroy some of them along the way. She knew her sister's schedule, and quickly rounded the corner where her first class was. Opening the door, Ashlea speed walks over to Alexis's desk, trying not to interrupt the teacher. Once she got there, she slams the photograph she found outside her door face-down onto her sister's desk. "Alexis, you might want to see this. I found it right outside my dorm room! What happened?!" Ashlea involuntarily took a few steps back, knowing the sheer rage that was going to erupt from her sister in a few seconds.
Alexis stared when her sister burst into the room. "Ashlea, what-" The picture was slammed to the desk, making her balk. "Nothing happened. What's gotten into you? Are you all crazy on steroids trying to surpass me?" She taunted as she flipped the photo over. Her mocking quickly stopped. Alexis saw herself sitting on her bed in her dorm room. She looked to be stretching, showing her naked body thoroughly, arms up behind her head and feet stretched out to touch her toes to the ground where her clothes lay. She was clearly wet, a towel lying beside her.
Alexis' hands shot to her face, covering her mouth. Tears in her eyes turned to steam, and the room began to become unbearably hot for the non fire mages. There was a lot stillness before she suddenly erupted from her seat, wrapping her hands around Ashlea's neck and slamming her into the wall, smashing a crater in it. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!? ARE THERE MORE!? WHO DID THIS!?" Her roar blew away the dust crated by the impact. "Alexis! Unacceptable behavior in my classroom! Sit down!" Ellen stomped over from her desk and spun to face her. She saw the image on Alexis' desk and grabbed it. "Oh..." She changed her voice to a whisper. "Alexis. Go to the office and tell them what happened, okay? We'll handle this. Ashlea, stay for a second." Alexis, still teary and staring, nodded and wandered aimlessly out the door. "Now, tell me, where did you find that? It's important." Ellen asked Ashlea.
Ashlea's eyes widened as Alexis grabbed her by the neck and slammed her into the wall, hard enough to create a small crater in the structure. Of course...she should have expected this. Attack the person who is trying to help you! Luckily, Ellen managed to break the two of them up before Ashlea summoned Mimi to pull Alexis down by her own neck. Once they were separate, Ashlea begins slowly rubbing her neck, obvious handprints leaving red marks where Alexis's hands had been. Ashlea glared at her sister as she left, but decided not to shout out anything.
"That ungrateful little piece of...sorry." Taking a deep breath, Ashlea turns to face Ellen with at least a calmer expression than before. "I found it right outside my dorm room, and then saw a bunch along the hallway when I was running here. I burnt as many of those as I could, though." Channeling some basic healing magic, Ashlea began to remove any kind of mark Alexis made on her in that short encounter.
Meanwhile, an upperclassman dressed in a black uniform strolled down the hallway, ripping a small collection of photographs in his hands into tiny pieces. He didn't seem to want these photographs hanging around either.
