Lucy's question made Aiden blush slightly, having been asked this more than a few times...mainly by Alexis. "W-we're just friends, ok?! Just like to chill together, go to concerts, whatever. But no, not a couple!" Aiden tried to explain. Haley giggled at the reply.
"Ehehe, well regardless of how you two feel about each other, I'm sure she'll appreciate you going to these lengths to help her." She suggested. Aiden stared for a second, and nodded.
"Y-yeah...I'm sure she'll think it was cool of us." He agreed, looking at Haley as she jogged along, head craned back in a happy-go-lucky expression as she addressed him. Aiden could feel his face growing hot as he looked away, but still seeing her tail swishing behind her. Haley grinned at this expression and skidded to a stop.
"Hmmmm...looks like it's on the roof..." Haley observed, looking up at the window that led out toward the rooftop. Aiden looked on with dread. Going onto the roof wasn't something allowed for most students. "Well...guess we have to go up. How am I going to get up there..." He didn't see an obvious way up. Lucy could levitate, but just herself. Haley turned to him with an excited look on her face.
"Weeeeeeeell...I could just carry you. I have pretty good agility, if you haven't seen." Haley boasted. Aiden was mortified at the suggestion. "Eeeeeeeer...sure. Hey Lucy, can you uh...poke your head out there and see what the situation's like?" He asked. Aiden mostly didn't want someone else seeing him get carried out of window by a cheerleader.

“So all the rumors are wrong. Romance is a lost art in these walls. Oh well. If you would like a romantic fortune reading, I would be glad to do so for you later.” Lucy noticed how Aiden followed Haley’s tail with his eyes. Well that would make the reading easier, wouldn’t it? “I hate to say this, but now is not the time to be dramatic, Aiden! Ride her to the roof!” She yelled out as she backed up the window and tumbled out like a scuba diver entering the sea. She self corrected and floated back, readying fireballs to cover Haley’s ascent if necessary.

Groaning when Lucy made the comment to the two of them, Aiden stepped up toward the wall directly below the window. "Well...please be gentle." He joked, Haley rolling her eyes.
"I don't know, I am pretty rough." She joked back, dashing forward with surprising speed and picking Aiden up with two hands, lifting him off the ground and bounding up to the window. They both stepped out onto the slanted roof, which had surprisingly good grip to their shoes.
Haley let Aiden down, who took a keen interest in the roof. "Wow, kind of slanted...but not slippy!" He declared. Aiden was trying to hide his red face from being carried. Haley giggled and skipped up the roofside. "Not slippy at all! Even for a full human like you all. Surprising." Haley stuck out her tongue, and ran up the side. It was on top of a spire that the group saw their target.
The crow was sitting high up on a spire, a nest made of various material and sparkly objects surrounding it. Aiden's eyes widened as he saw one of them, but couldn't process it before he heard a sound.
"Oh, nice of you guys to finally show the hell up!" An angry Scarlet barked at them, now standing in a pair of black boxers with grey, white and red graffiti patterns on them. Aiden quickly averted his gaze.
Haley waved over. "Hey, I'm Haley! I helped bring them here!" She called over. Scarlet sighed and pointed to the crow. "Thanks, Haley! Now could you three please get my keychain back so I can get some pants and send this crow back to hell?!" Scarlet said with more annoyance.
Aiden looked up the spire and drew his sword, testing that the whip mechanism still worked. "Alright Lucy...you mind throwing a fireball up there to get it flying, so we can deal with it?" He asked, eyes laser focused on the bird and not Scarlet.

Lucy, bringing up the rear, was a little slower than Haley, and caught up to Aiden just as the dog girl was running away. “She’s totally flirting with you! You definitely need a reading! For free! Totally free!” Lucy’s eyes were sparkling with a light that might be read uncharitably as ominous. She continued at Aiden’s side and burst out laughing at the situation, both Scarlet’s condition and Aiden’s discomfort. “Ahahaha, that’s an interesting choice, Scarlet. Come on Aiden, they’re boxers, you’ll see more backstage during production.” Lucy took a stance, waggling her fingers. “And now it’s time for our show. I will provide the pyrotechnics!” A spark flew from her palm, landing at the foot of the spire. A second later, it erupted up into a towering pillar of flame. The sheer force might push the crow from its perch if it didn’t flee itself.

"She wha-" Aiden didn't get to respond before events started unfolding. He wanted to consider the offer...but things were a little more important right now. Scarlet grumbled when Lucy teased about her wear. "If it were anything else, you'd all be unconscious right now!" She complained. Aiden took Lucy's point...but it was still not polite to look!
When Lucy shot her pillar of fire, the crow immediately took flight, holding the keychain in its tallons...still attached to the pants. The keychain then began to glow a light pink, Scarlet's eyes widening.
"No fucking way..." She breathed.
Within a second, the crow was now slightly larger, with small pink ribbons tied to its talons and wings. A tiny frilly white skirt was around its lower body, and a fittingly sized poofy white hat rested upon its head. In its talons was now a full sized pink chainsaw with sparkling sides, revving in the wind.
Haley stared up with her mouth open. "Wait a minute...it's got a chainsaw now?!" She asked with incredulity. The crow dove down, attempting to swing the chainsaw diagonally across Lucy.
However, Aiden stepped forward and smashed his sword into the blade, causing it to bounce up and over the duo. "Whoa, that thing has some power...careful, everyone!" He called out. This was like fighting an avian version of Scarlet. What else could this thing do?
Scarlet took cover behind one of the spires, glaring at the crow as it flew around. This thing was using HER mana, damn it!
Haley leaped across a spire to try and tackle the crow, but a single flap of the wing sent a swirling wave of darkness that sent the girl to the ground.
"...ok, so it knows dark magic too...good to know." Haley said sarcastically, getting back up. How were they going to beat this...?

“All of us? I am a woman of the world, I’ve seen it all.” Lucy lied. She let herself be distracted as golden rays rained down and the crow became clad in a magically frilly dress. “Right, we should have mentioned that it stole Scarlet’s power source.” She turned back to look just in time to see the chainsaw coming at her. She screamed and fell, only to hear a metallic clash and see the blade bounce away. “Th-thanks!” She gasped and panted, but she couldn’t get her breathing back under control. She wasn’t as concerned with looking cool as her younger companions, but her helplessness still made her blush. She scrambled until she was behind the spire and could use it to brace herself and get up. “Augustus… help Haley get up there!” She yelled out, and a chuckle came from around the spire. “Help the bitch out, got it.” Augustus invisibly drifted over to Haley. “Hey, bitch. I’m getting you onto the bird. Little brat, you cover us, hear?” He attempted to cuff Aiden over the head, but it was effectively a stiff breeze. He was more capable of providing lift to Haley, wrapping her in a booze-stinking wind that would give her the extra boost she needed to get onto the overly colorful corvid.

When Lucy thanked Aiden, a sense of pride washed over him. He had just saved someone! He did something cool, like Alexis does! Then a thought dawned on him.
"...oh wow, this is real..." He muttered, realizing that Lucy or himself could have died right there. There was no anti-death field up here. This thought was soon suppressed when Lucy's summon came up alongside them and called Haley a bitch.
A glare spread across Haley's face. She opened her mouth to yell at him, but Aiden took the breeze and glared at him.
"Hey, don't call her that! You crossed a line there. Now don't do it again, or I'll grab that chainsaw and send you back to Hell myself!" He yelled, Haley looking dumbfounded as she was wrapped up in the putrid wind and sent flying toward the crow. She closed her eyes, and a small smile appeared on her face.
Pulling her hand back, electricity began to course through her veins. The crow was quickly approaching, readying to slice her with the chainsaw.
"Hey, you know the best part of having that is?!" Thrusting her arm forward, a loud crack of lightning shot out and directly connected with the chainsaw, traveling up and into the crow. "...it's impossible for me to miss." She said confidently.
Her eyes then widened when the bird pointed its wing toward Haley. Aiden's eyes widened when he saw this. "Haley, get out of there!" He called up, all pretense of looking cool now gone. In one desperate measure, he released his whipsword and shot it between the crow and Haley, the lightning striking the metal target and arcing directly into Aiden's arm. The world became white as he passed out.
"Aiden!" Haley yelled, shooting a bolt of lightning diagonally at the ground to launch herself at the crow, covering her arm in electricity...but the bird easily evaded, allowing Haley to crash into a nearby section of roof. The crow looped around, facing down its final target.
Scarlet had run out and checked Aiden's hand. "He's got a pulse...phew...you idiot!" She lightly punched his shoulder. She turned to look at the bird. "So...any ideas...?" Scarlet asked, fear now in her voice.

“Pff. You children are treated too well. Back in my day, a pretty lad like you would be dressed up as a lady and sold on the streets.” Augustus sneered, but he was well out of the way, back around with Lucy trying to get her up. Back behind the pillar, Lucy whimpered. She heard thunder. Did that mean Haley got it? She dared a peek and saw the worst-case scenario. Aiden was down, and Haley was nowhere to be seen. Scarlet knelt by Aiden’s body and Lucy saw steam coming off of his skin. What happened!? The bird was coming! “Scarlet, do somethiiiiiing!” Lucy yelled, throwing fireballs. In her panic, they went wide, lighting up the rooftop but not striking the crow.

"What am I supposed to do?! It has my powers!" Scarlet yelled back, fear now apparent in her voice. The fireball lit up a section of the roof, but not close enough to affect the magical crow spirt. It flew at them with its beady, dispassionate pair of eyes.
Scarlet stumbled to the side, but tripped over an incline in the roof and fell forward, eyes wide. She was going to die here. A crow using her own powers against her. "Why the hell am I so unlucky?!" Scarlet whispered to herself, preparing to roll away from the strike...
...when a whistle came from the edge of the building. Scarlet looked up to see a tall woman, about 6 feet in height, with jet black hair and bright golden eyes. She wore an elaborate red and black dress that would be seen in the medieval era, with long red sleeves nearly covering her entire arms. The top of the dress was white and went down to her gold-laced sleeves, stopping at the chest area, which was dark red and went down to the end of the skirt, black fabric going all the way around the rest of the skirt. She also had a light red veil draped along her back, matching the rest of the outfit. A sinister aura radiated from the woman's form, practically outlined in dark purple magic.
"That's enough, Edgar." The woman called out, holding out her hand. The crow stopped its assault and looked at her with a puzzled expression. But this hesitation only lasted a moment, as it flew over and let go of the chainsaw, transforming it back into a keychain and landing on top of the woman's palm. The woman then began to lightly stroke the bird's back.
"I am sorry I wasn't there when you woke up, you must have been so scared. The world has certainly moved on past the both of us..." She whispered to the bird.
Scarlet looked on with a bewildered expression. "Hey uh, sorry to interrupt, but who are you?!" She called out to their apparent savior. The woman glanced over at Scarlet casually, continuing to pet the bird.
"Ah yes, forgot you had company." The woman began to walk toward them. "Considering our location and your ages, I assume you know my image. There are several paintings, particularly near the Schwarzweiss dorms." She turned her head to Scarlet, who quickly realized what was going on.
"You're Weiss?!" She blurted out, Weiss giving a small bow and pulling up her skirt slightly as a curtsey. "Schwarzweiss, founder of Gateway and world-renowned researcher. Pleasure." She said the last word with a hint of sinister in her tone. Everything about this woman terrified Scarlet. She turned to Lucy, hoping this goth would know how to talk to this lady better.

Lucy was useless, Scarlet was useless, Aiden and Haley were knocked out if not dead, how did they think they could handle this alone!? She had been so arrogant, entranced with the success of dark magic do it yourself projects. She had been playing in the kiddy pool and thought it made her an Olympic swimmer. She couldn’t even call the person she had called up! Then she appeared. Lucy recognized her immediately. “Schwarz…” The chainsaw ground to a halt and the crow was stopped. It was… hers. Lucy had actually done it!? “Mistress of darkness, I am deeply apologetic for breaking your slumber. We wanted to summon you for… well it does not matter. Please, allow me to return you to rest.” Lucy flattened herself out on the ground in reverence, hoping not to peeve a being that was basically a god.

Weiss blankly stared at the apologetic Lucy, putting her hand to her own cheek. "Well well well...so you're the ones who summoned me, hm? I would love to hear this reason you felt it important enough to bring back such a powerful sorceress from the past." She asked, an amused expression on her face. A chill ran down Scarlet's spine as she stayed pinned to the spire.
"Hey uh...could we talk after healing our friends, please? They were injured in that fight just now..." She trailed off. Weiss looked Scarlet up and down, and nodded.
"I suppose that's fair..." Weiss closed her eyes, held up a glowing right hand, and snapped her fingers. Immediately, 4 balls of light shot out in different directions, each entering the bodies of the fighters involved. They would immediately feel a rush of energy, and their injuries healing almost instantly. Aiden's eyes shot open as he leaped off the ground and glanced about. His eyes widened when he saw Weiss standing by, giving him a friendly wave.
"Hey uh...guess I missed stuff." Aiden said nervously. Out from a nearby hole in the wall, Haley front flipped through the air and landed next to him, hands on her hips.
"Oh, hi! Nice to meet...you..." Haley's voice trailed off when she recognized whom she was talking to, also given a friendly wave.
Weiss chuckled to herself and glanced between the four of them.
"I apologize for the actions of my assistant, Edgar. I wasn't aware he was...resurrected with me." She seemed to trail off. "Now...you wish to return me to rest?" A strange grin spread across her face. "Can you even do that I wonder...I couldn't even kill myself." She explained, Aiden taking a step back in surprise and walking next to Lucy.
"Hey uh...we need Scarlet's keychain to try..." He whispered, not sure how they were going to deal with a being this powerful.

Lucy blushed when Schwarzweiss wondered just why they summoned her. It was an absurd reason, looking back. Who used necromancy to ace a history project!? Weiss healed them, surprising Lucy once more with her magical mastery. It wasn’t even her specialty and she still casually healed all four of them in an instant. Her blush inverted into paper white skin when Schwarzweiss wondered if they could put her down at all. “Oh nonono, I don’t mean trying to hurt you at-” Lucy was interrupted by Aiden, and she elbowed him right under the ribs. “Shut up, idiot. Ma’m, I can open the portal we made to the netherworld once more and simply allow you to leave. I know you owe us nothing, but I dearly hope you would prefer to return to your rest rather than stay here.”

"Ow, hey!" Aiden whispered, reeling from being elbowed suddenly. He glared at Lucy, then glanced back at Weiss. The sorceress looked on thoughtfully at the four kids present.
"Hm...not sure if I do want to return from my rest though. In fact..." Weiss's eyes flashed a menacing red as a wave of darkness washed over the roof like a tidal wave, trapping the four of them in a void-like space. They couldn't see or hear each other, despite being so close just a few seconds earlier.
Four figures appeared, one in each of their separate spaces. Haley readied herself for another fight, but Weiss put up her hands in placation.
"See, I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to Hell yet. So how about we play a little game, hm?" Each of the clones would ask.
Aiden looked on, unsure if he should even try to fight someone this strong. "Game? What kind of game...?" He asked, sweat beading on his forehead."
Weiss clapped her hands in amusement. "See, as a spirit...I need a body. And this seems like a great way to pick one. Don't worry...you'll be given a reward far more than you can imagine if you help me with this." The Weisses explained. "Aiden...I can make you far stronger than even your idol. Nobody will stand in your way, and Alexis will see you for the man you really are." Aiden's jaw opened when she explained something so grand. He knew she probably even had the power to do this too...
"Haley...you dislike how being different makes people look down on you. I can not only make you totally human, but beautiful as well. You will be the envy of everyone on your squad." She offered, Haley taking a step back in shock. She could do that?!
The one on Scarlet's area stepped up next. "First off, I believe this is yours." Weiss held out the keychain, which Scarlet hastily took back. "Took you long enough..." She grumbled, Weiss giving a small bow. "My apologies. Now...for you, I can offer many things...how about curing that cancer that runs though your body? Or even..." Weiss looked at the keychain once more. "...giving you your mana back? You won't have to become that form ever again." Scarlet's heart skipped a beat. Her life would be utterly changed by such an offer! But what was the catch...?
Lucy's was last. "For you Lucy...well, if I'm back, I can personally teach you the many lost dark arts that I had researched in life. You will become the next sorceress supreme by the time you're 30...if you have me as your mentor. Summoning demons for your bidding, communicating with dark gods, commanding the weak willed...the powers I can give you are limitless." Weiss explained to Lucy.
All four then began to speak in unison. "Here's how the game goes. You have two options." All the clones held up two fingers. "Ally...or betray. If you all pick ally, you all get to leave with none of my offers. However, if one of you picks betray...they get to go free, and get my reward. I will then choose one of the other 3 to inhabit, their memories merging with mine...and I shall become them. Few people could even tell anything at all had happened."
Weiss shrugged her shoulders. "If two or three people betray, they all get their wishes, and I'll pick between either the two, or last person respectively." Her face then grew into a wide grin. "However...should you all betray..." The four Weiss held out their hands, and an ember of purple fire danced in her hands. "...then I suppose there is no trust in this group after all, and you four can join me in Hell. So, I'll give you a few minutes to decide. What will everyone else vote~" The four Weiss cackled, hopping into the air and casually leaning back as they lazily floated 3 feet off the ground, as if they were on couches.

Lucy took a single step back when Schwarzweiss said she didn’t want to go back. All her instincts told her to run, but there was no time. The greatest dark mage of the past had trapped Lucy within darkness. She was alone on a level she never had been before, potentially entirely alone in an entire dimension of darkness. Lucy wasn’t sure if it was comforting or more disturbing when she was joined by Schwarzweiss. Then the ancient mage gave her offer and Lucy nearly passed out. The flood of emotion that went through her body was too strong to contain. It was an impossibly good deal. Everything she had just beat herself up over could be reversed.
She wouldn’t be a failure chattering with imps and pretending to be a queen of shadow. She would be stronger than anybody in this school, students and professors alike. Every secret of the universe could be at her fingertips. She imagined becoming head of Friends of the Dead at 20, or perhaps Headmistress of Gateway. Augustus would be replaced with the real Jack the Ripper; no, that was thinking too small at this point! What a childish dream, when she could have a great named devil at her side. That was just the start! With that power, she could delve deeper into magical secrets than even Schwarzweiss had.
But the dream faded fast. The temptress was still speaking, and the price of it all became apparent. “Become them?” Lucy felt faintly nauseous as the idea took hold in her. She didn’t know Scarlet and Aiden well, but they had accepted her, despite what she had done to them in the past. The idea of them being completely subsumed, everything that made them themselves swallowed up in the ocean of time and power that was Schwarzweiss. “...no. I couldn’t do that to them. Not even for that.” All Lucy could hear was her heart pounding in her ears. Would one of them instead condemn her?

Schwarzweiss started the game before Aiden was ready. He was cut off in an instant from everybody else, and they were alone. That glorious word was spoken. Power. What Alexis and his mother had, and he lacked. It was immediately tempting. He could take that right to the arena and become champion, just like Alexis. She would be so thrilled to see him following in her footsteps! No, surpassing her! Nobody had ever been champion in their first year. He would look his mother and sister in the eye as equals.
But at the same time, he digested what else she said. Would Alexis give somebody else’s life away for that power? No, of course not. She worked for it, every day. He had watched her jog laps around their estate, seen her spend every drop of mana trying to perfect her moves. She wouldn’t be proud of him, she’d be disappointed he thought that shortcut worked.
“I won’t take a shortcut. I’ll reach her for real.” Aiden said. “I’m not taking your offer.”

“You…can do that?” Scarlet’s voice grew quiet, her fear melting away as she looked toward the towering darkness above herself.
“Give me my magic back…cure this fucking disease…” She repeated to herself. Not only would that guarantee that she not die…but also reset things so she’s exactly like her other classmates again. No more embarrassing outfit to transform into. And the worst part was…she knew Weiss could deliver on this promise.
“I…I want…” Scarlet then bit down hard, nearly catching her tongue between her teeth. “The FUCK am I doing?! You want to kill one of these girls who just helped me out so I can look cooler, and maybe live a little longer?!”
Scarlet shook her head back and forth. “No, I pick ally, you asshole! I wouldn’t feel right to keep living if I had someone’s blood on my hands!” She barked. Weiss nodded and snapped her fingers, engulfing the area in light.

Haley stared at Weiss’s face, sniffing to see if she could detect a hint of a lie…but not finding anything. She looked down at her tail, and wondered what life would be like without it…
(Months ago)
“1 2 3 4! 1 2 3 4! 1 2 3 4!” A group of girls in the same uniform chanted, running through a 4-step routine of hand and feet movements. Haley was among them, still a relatively new member of the squad, and her tail swished from side to side. Suddenly, one of the girl’s voices piped up.
“Time out! One second, please.” The blond-haired girl turned and addressed Haley directly. “Haley, girl. Can you please do something about your tail? The rhythm of it makes it hard to stay on beat, and it keeps brushing past my leg and tickling it!” She complained.
A wave of embarrassment washed over Haley. “O-oh…sorry. I’ll uh…find a belt or something.” Truthfully, Haley knew she needed something more secure than that, or it would just slide off her fur.
Her family were also dog-based beastkin, but unlike some, they didn’t have a rich culture spanning hundreds of years. They were simply a product of an experiment that got shut down by the authorities. But no matter where she went…people saw the dog parts before her own. Comments on her tongue, dog jokes, unsolicited touching of her ears and tail…it was a humiliating experience.
(Now)
“I…no, I can’t. Sorry. I can’t kill someone for this…” Haley stated, standing up straight. Weiss nodded her head, snapping her fingers and engulfing them both in light.

All four of them found themselves back where they had originally stood on the rooftop, a single version of Weiss floating cross-legged a meter away from them. She had an amused expression on her face. A feeling of dread washed over Aiden…did someone actually betray here? What had she offered them?
“Well well well, it appears all of you chose to ally. So congratulations; everyone gets to go free, and you all get nothing. Thanks for playing.” Weiss waved her hands dismissively. Scarlet breathed a sigh of relief, and stepped forward.
“Of course none of us chose to betray, idiot. Why would you think that was ok?!” She said with frustration, Weiss shrugging her shoulders. “I wanted to see how much you all trusted each other? I am a researcher, after all.” Weiss replied.
Scarlet took another step forward, Weiss looking on with interest. “Well, we won, asshole! So I think it’s time…” The keychain in Scarlet’s hands glowed, engulfing her body in light. A second later she stood there in a frilly pink dress with white stockings, a poofy white hat with two massive peach ribbons flanking each side. She swung her chainsaw at the bemused Weiss, the blade cutting into the mage’s skin and beginning to run through her body…a look of pure determination on Scarlet’s face.

“Not an ethical researcher. As much as I admire you, your place in this world is too far gone.” Lucy pointed an accusational finger at Schwarzweiss. She only looked away when she heard the sound of a chainsaw revving. “Wait, Scarlet, you shouldn’t do that, she’s still-” It was too late. Scarlet attacked, and Lucy whimpered. “Think I should jump off the building?” She whispered. “Nah, she’d catch up and kill you anyways.” Augustus sounded happy.

The chainsaw seemed to stop when it made contact with Weiss's skin, Scarlet unleashing more mana to try and rip through the spirit's body. Weiss looked down at the attack with amusement, reaching her hand out and grabbing onto the whirling blade. The force threw Scarlet off her feet, sending her rocketing backwards and across the roof. Weiss tossed the chainsaw in her direction and dusted her undisturbed dress off.
"Well, I suppose if we're done talking..." A sadistic grin spread across Weiss's face as the world began to warp, the moon turning a sinister red color as the roof around them curled like plants toward the sun.
"You know what is the worst part about Hell, kids?" Weiss's body wobbled and contorted, her face turning jet black aside from her eyes and now-enlarged mouth. "It's not the constant suffering, heat, or even Satan's authority...it's the boredom." Her voice grew more metallic as she spoke. Aiden's body was now completely frozen, while Scarlet sat motionless where she had landed.
"Day in and day out...nothing ever changes. You simply exist, unable to end your miserable existence! And you wish to send me back there?!" Her voice boomed, sending shockwaves across the roof. Haley covered her ears in horror.
Scarlet began to babble. "S-sorry I tried to atta..." "Of course you're sorry!" Weiss boomed back, making Scarlet recoil in terror. The dark goddess before them began to distort further as she walked.
Strangely though...a single white hand extended out, and the crow Edgar landed on top. The figure stroked the bird's back affectionately, beginning to whisper to it, quiet enough that the others couldn't hear.
"I am happy to see you again, Edgar. I would love to join you in restful afterlife...but not even God can save me from this eternal Hell. Please take care of Simon..." She pet the crow's body gently, the crow leaning into it, staring up at the deformed figure. Unlike the kids nearby, the bird had no fear on its avian face.
"...I hope this is the last time we say goodbye..." She whispered, closing her hand around the bird and making a ball, the ball opening to reveal a light wisp of light that traveled out of the abyss.
The figure seemed far calmer now, letting out a sigh and turning its head to the right. "...don't worry about purifying me...I'll see myself out. Don't try to raise the dead around here so casually...many of these spirits fought for their ability to rest peacefully." She warned, body beginning to disappear and world returning to normal around them.
"...oh, one more thing. Nobody likes a cheater." She gave a wide grin before disappearing into a trail of light. Aiden stood stock still, unsure of what to do. Haley was the first to speak up.
"...did uh...anyone else's heart just stop?"

“Ahhhhh please no don’t drag us to hell with you! I owe a lot of guys down there and I’m not ready to pay them baaaaaaaaack!” Lucy begged, lowering herself to the floor. She was ready to wiggle like a worm if that’s what it took, but thankfully she was spared from further indignity. The moon went back to normal and Lucy wasn’t sent to hell, heck, or any of the other various unspeakable places she had attempted to open portals to in the past. “Yes mistress, I’ll never do it again. Thank you so much for your forgiveness!” She was pretty sure she was the only one who could hear Augustus’ laughter and hopefully, it stayed that way. When Aiden said his heart had stopped, she sighed. “Well you better not die from it. I’m not calling up your ghost.”

Scarlet stared into the space that Weiss had inhabited, seeing if this was another trick or not. When she didn't come back, the mage slowly stood back up and dusted her new outfit off; a trendy pair of black pants, a pink shirt with a red heart in the middle, and a white cardigan. She pulled off the small pink bow in her hair and tossed it off the roof.
"Soooo...mission accomplished I guess." Aiden said, giving a few nervous chuckles. Haley rolled her eyes. "You're all crazy, you know that? But hey, welcome back to the team, Scarlet!" Haley gave a friendly smile, Scarlet looking at her in confusion, then back to Aiden.
"...why is she..." "Haly ran into us while we were trying to save you, and helped to track you down. She's cool." Aiden tried to reassure. Scarlet scoffed. Why was a cheerleader with them?!
Scarlet rolled her eyes once more and motioned to the window. "Well there are probably more ghosts, so let's go, nerds." Scarlet looked at Haley, and sighed. "And...thanks for helping me out." She turned and jumped through the window, Haley giving a smug smile as she motioned toward Lucy. "Heh, I get the feeling she doesn't like me."

“No… no more ghosts.” Lucy said. She peered over the edge of the roof and saw that the graveyard was still. “She… she closed it all. It’s over.” She breathed a final sigh of relief and slid to the floor. “You go on… gimmie a minute.” Scarlet went on, and Haley addressed her. “Oh, don’t worry, she’s probably just jealous.” She winked at the cheerleader before pulling herself back to her feet. “Let’s get back to the dorms before we all get in trouble, okay?” She hovered out the window and sighed. It didn’t matter how much sleep she got now, she was pretty sure she’d be tired tomorrow.
