With the time running out, the water climbing and the charms paralyzing his friends, inspiration hit Gianni, who realized that the riddles, made reference to the carvings on the wall, following the cycle of attempted executions on the Jiangshi’s master. With that in mind he tugged from the charms in order, instead of bouncing back, each time he pulled on of them they split apart, the charm burning into green flames, heating the contents of the inverted dome, to the point that the bubbling liquid reached the tubes that moved towards the rings in the wall. The liquid descended quickly, hitting the wooden wheels. As discovered by Ann, the wheels weren’t capable of spinning and the liquid wasn’t water, but some kind of corrosive substance, that ate through the wood, dissolving it and then proceeded to fall on the obsidian pools. Thankfully there wasn’t a lot of excess liquid, so it didn’t reach Ann or Percival.
The water started draining under them and the charms that had attacked them slowly lost their magical energy, releasing them. Percival landed on the damp floor with a loud splat, falling to one knee. He popped his shoulder as he was hit quite hard against the wall. -That was an experience I don’t wish to repeat ever again.- He popped his neck, almost as an emphasis to his words. -Ever.- As he talked, the double doors in the other side of the room started to open, creaking as they slowly slid over the smooth floor, revealing a dark room on the other side. The shadowy maw of the doorway appeared in front of them, maybe open to the last room in his strange tomb.

Gianni's heart didn't stop thundering in his chest when the traps stopped going off. His head was spinning to the point he felt like he was going to fall off the ceiling. Slowly he crawled back down to the ground. He half-ran half-stumbled up to his companions and fell into a hug. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I nearly killed you both!" He bawled, shuddering as he hugged them, clinging powers gluing him impossibly tight to his friends. "Are you two alright!?" He checked them for any severe damage, glasses fogging up too much for him to see anything.

Ann hugged Gianni back as hard as she could, "You did it!!" she shouted, barely believing they made it through that one, the last door was finally on sight
"Don't worry Gianni, you saved us! she said in an excited tone, she then gave a look at the last door.
Before we go, I'd like to equip myself, we don't know what could be inside that room, this is it guys, whether we make it or not, it has been a pleasure, and Percival...sorry for what I did before, it won't happen again."
Ann fell back a little, she had a ton of points for surviving the previous trap, the charms managed to pin her, but not harm her, same for the boiling water, she decided to equip herself with most of the far cry set, her clothes were instantly changed as well, a red tank top and brown cargo pants were the new looks, her combat boots also changed into a brown color. on her right arm, a tattoo with many designs, the central piece being a large Musashi crest.
At that moment Ann began to understand better how the packs work, with other items she had to swap whenever she wanted a new one, but the game packs would allow her to carry two or three things of the same line, she got the recurve bow, the Japanese tanto and both normal and explosive arrows, equipping a rifle or a shotgun would probably make the entire set disappear, so she stuck with what gave her the better odds.
"Well, I'm as ready as I can be, hopefully, this thing isn't permanent," she said as she looked at her new sleeve.

The open door, leading to the next room, had a foreboding aura, at least for Percival. -Don’t apologize Gianni, no harm, no foul.- He clearly was at least trying to not sound as depressed as he felt and that might be a step forward, but the Rejuvenated Knight was still pretty much in tatters when it came to his mental state. He pulled his sword out of its scabbard, already ready and glowing, to light up the darkened room as he advanced. He didn’t reply to Ann’s apology, as he felt like it wasn’t even needed. -Follow me, tread carefully.- He instructed while walking into the dimly lit room, taking point as before. The radiance of his sword only allowed him get minor details around him. The room seemed to be quite big, another dome, like every other room in this tomb. The floor was purely obsidian while the walls were completely white Jade. The walls had decorative golden carvings while the floor had a strange pattern on the obsidian tiles. The whole place buzzed with broken magic, as if a powerful seal had been broken. -Something major happened here, something broke out.- As he advanced his foot hit something on the floor, the cover of a casket, just like the one before it was covered in charms.
-Stop!- He exclaimed, looking at the half casket on the floor and focusing his power on his blade. It had been a very long time since he rejuvenated so much, last time was after that incident during the napoleonic wars, so he couldn’t measure his magic power, blasting it full force and turning the dim light into a radiant bonfire of golden light. -DAGNABBIT!!- He cursed, turning away from the light, wincing after getting a full blast directly to his eyes. But somebody else suffered the same fate as him. A weak shriek echoed in the room as bent figure, covered in raggedy mystical clothing and charms winced even harder than him rolling on the floor and crawling like some kind of weakened and hurt beast towards the center of the room, hiding behind a pedestal. If any of the others managed to ignore the bright lights they might have seen clearly who or what was that figure. A decrepit man, older than they have ever seen, with twisted and wrinkled fingers, distorted limbs and unkempt beard and hair, falling in dirty locks down to the floor. He moved less like a man and more like some kind of beast.
Percival managed to lower the intensity of the light while he rubbed his eyes, trying to lose the white dots obscuring his vision. -What was that?- He asked looking at the pedestal, that with more light, held the base of the coffin, tied with chains, on a vertical position. Behind it the disgusting decrepit old man was hiding, peeking at them with maddened eyes and drool dropping from his mouth. The image of this extremely elderly human was making the Rejuvenated Knight uncomfortable. -Is that the Wizard?- He asked, slowly lowering his blade, confident that the creature hiding might not be dangerous

"It doesn't matter if I save you if I'm the one who put you in danger." Gianni grumbled, but he didn't push it any further. His unbreakable grip broke and Ann was free to change her gear. Gianni noted the new tattoo with surprise. She could change that much? He had to admit the ability to totally change his look at any moment was pretty appealing. He could go from comfortable tank top for working outside to a comfy jacket for the depths of a ruin, all with the snap of his fingers.
He followed Percival into the room, taking time to feel the ground with each step. If anything moved, he would feel it. It was when Percival's blade glowed bright that he felt movement, blinded eyes swiveling to where the ancient man ended up. He saw a head so wrinkled it looked melted peering out at him. He stopped in his tracks and stared at the creature before him. He couldn't see anything behind those eyes. No malice, no intelligence. The man who laughed at Yama hadn't had the last laugh after all. A pang of pity tore through Gianni. Nobody deserved this. He couldn't imagine the horror of being locked away and slowly feeling your mind drift away. Just a few days in solitary confinement was inhumane. Thousands of years was hell.
"Percival, put that away. It can't do much anyway if he's immortal." He gestured for Percival to sheath his sword. "Ann, watch my back. The other people in here could come up from behind." Gianni began taking ponderous steps towards the wizard. "Hey. It's okay. It's okay. We're not here to hurt you." A few moments ago that wouldn't have been true. He would have been ready to kill this man to protect the world. But this wasn't some wicked sorcerer from out of time. This was just an ill old man who could be helped. Maybe killing him would prove best, but Gianni was no executioner. "Please. We just want you to get out of here."

Ann almost went blind from the lights, she only caught Percival's reaction upon seeing the old man, as the light became dimmer, the wizard was finally revealed, both Gianni and Percival deemed it harmless, but the figure still frightened Ann, she had never seen a man in that state before.
"Are you sure about this?" Ann nervously asked upon hearing Gianni's request to lower Percival's weapon, the place didn't exactly give them a warm welcome, so she still had her doubts about the man. nonetheless, she accepted Gianni's petition to guard their back.
"Can he even understand English? it might be dangerous for you to get any closer" she said as she readied an explosive arrow on her bow, she wasn't looking directly at the interaction between Gianni and the Wizard, but she hoped he wouldn't get too close. Ann was quite puzzled by that man's existence, for him to be still among the living, he surely must have some purpose.

The thing hiding behind the pedestal had long ago stopped being a human. His maddened stare looked more like a rabid beast rather than a person. He listened at Gianni’s words, but just like a dog listens to a human. As the Arachnid Archaeologist moved closer the husk of what once was a dangerous mystic and necromancer moved back, scared by them. Percival, lowering his sword, but not putting it away, as it was the only source of light in the room, started looking around, finding it difficult to watch another inmortal in a state as pitiful as that. His mind wandered looking at the surroundings until the voices echoing on his head started to join in a single thought.
Cwellan Aldor (Kill the old man)
The christian mystics were chanting in latin the same words on his head on a loop. Percival shook his head trying to dispel the voices. How could he kill that man, he seemed less dangerous than an infant. But the voices returned and joining them, something that not usually happened, where the druids, their grave tones, powerful as the winds roaring in the rocky valleys of their homeland, added a warning to the order
Arsaid Foirmearcha in Boilscen de Ainimm (The old man is the nexus of souls)
-Nexus of souls.- Percival muttered as the old man, finally seemed to abandon his fear and took a tentative step forward. The Rejuvenated Knight mind suddenly shot into high gear, pushed by the sum of the minds carried by the Grail. Something was off. Why did the seal break? Why now? How was this man alive? How did he gain his immortality? Maybe it was related to the Jiangshi, that he knew they suck energy through contact. And then it hit him. The Jiangshi… None of them had hands, all of them had weapons. The Jiangshi wouldn’t be able to consume any souls taken by them, but what if this Wizard’s immortality mirrored his own, using souls to extend his lifespan. Maybe he was sealed and dormant until something powered him up. The Old Wizard moved ever closer to Gianni, taking small, doubt filled steps.
The dual choir of voices kept bothering Percival, while he tried to remember what could’ve been the catalyst for this. What event was the cause for this? And then he remembered. It came like a flash, hitting him like a truck. Earlier, at the start of this adventure, when he was checking the news of the area looking for any weird activity.
“...The only big news in the area was about a factory fire killing around 100 workers…”
100 lives. 100 souls. That kickstarted this whole thing. And if this Wizard was able to feast on souls, maybe it was just like his Jiangshi. That’s it! It was a Jiangshi, but a sentient one. A Lich Jiangshi! -GET AWAY FROM THE OLD MAN!- Percival exclaimed lifting his blade, as the Old Wizard, who looked meek until now, decided to pounce on Gianni, his neck and arms stretching out, his tongue coming out from his mouth and every bone on his body creaking as he screamed in extremely ancient chinese aiming to grab Gianni into a deadly embrace.

Gianni slowed his steps when the sorcerer backed away. "It's okay, come on. We're getting you out of here." He glanced back at Ann and raised a finger to his lips. "I doubt he understands any language. It's all about the tone of voice." He kept his voice soft as velvet even as he spoke to her, keeping an eye on the ancient man. In grotesque irony, he turned entirely away when Percival yelled to look at his shouting companion. The ancient lich slammed into his back, pummeling him to the ground with superior weight. Gianni only managed to lift his head, bloody nose and cracked glasses showing, but his body couldn't budge under the lich's strength. He just screamed, wiggling helplessly. "Ann! Percival!" He ducked his head again, expecting a rain of gunfire.

Ann felt a chill run down her spine as she turned around, Percival had told Gianni to back off from the sorcerer, but it was too late, the creature had caught Gianni, and struggled with all its might in an effort to kill him. A gut-wrenching feeling enveloped Ann as her friend desperately began to cry for help.
She nervously readied her arrow knowing full well it would be useless, the arrow tip was explosive and if she failed by a centimeter or if the blast was too strong, it could cause Gianni some serious damage as well.
"Percival! get that thing off Gianni!" she desperately shouted as the bowstring pressed hard against her now redden fingertips, Ann came to regret on that instant her ammunition of choice, it was too late to try switching into a regular arrow, she had to trust Percival would manage to get to the licht before something worse happened.

-Dagnabbit!- Percival cursed as he charged towards Gianni. The Jiangshi-Lich was trying to sink his clawed fingers into the Arachnid Archaeologist’s flesh, trying to drain his life-force, like a leech. The Rejuvenated Knight aimed a punt kick directly at the undead abomination’s head, hitting air, as the Lich jumped backwards, releasing Gianni. -Begone monster!- Percival kept moving forward, his blade up and shining, putting himself between the monster and his friend. The Lich’s disgusting mouth, lips cracked and half covered with dirty hair opened into a disgusting grin, his beady and maddened eyes locking on Percival. That proved to be a mistake, as Ann was waiting for her moment to attack, shooting an explosive tipped arrow at the Immortal Wizard. The inhuman reflexes he had were handy, but even with them reacting to an arrow shot a short distance with a modern compound recurve bow, wasn’t something he could totally do. What seemed to be a direct hit to the neck ended up being a clean hit on the shoulder. The explosive detonated and with a loud SPLAT! as the resulting sound, the effects were plain for them to see.
The right arm of the being was torn off, launched across the room, hitting the wall with a sickening wet sound. The abomination cried out in pain, a guttural grunt coming out from his wrinkled and rotting throat. The wound wasn’t bleeding, but a disgustingly smelly green vapor started pouring out, reaching the ground. The fog seemed to have a life of it’s own, slithering on the floor and reaching his amputated limb. The mist stuck to the broken shoulder and with a tug it dragged the arm back to its place. The wound wasn’t completely healed, there were clear sequels of the explosion, missing skin and rotting sinew, but the empty spaces were filled by the glowing viridian mist, giving the wound an off-putting aura. The Jiangshi Lich mouth was hanging open after the grotesque grin, as if the muscles of his jaw had loosened after centuries locked up, incapable of closing his drooling maw filled with now sharp and rotten chunks of broken teeth.
It seems like they could injure him, as no magic was infinite, but it might be quite difficult, as the creature jumped up, skittering on the roof like some kind of insect, moving towards Ann, launching its elongated arms like vipers striking, his mangled and jagged fingernails being the fangs in the analogy. -Careful Ann!- Percival warned as he rushed towards her, ready to slice one of the arms if possible when it came to his range.

Gianni scrabbled helplessly at the ground when the expected bullets didn't come. His fingers clung, but his muscles just couldn't pull him properly under the superior weight of the monster crushing him. He could barely even breath with the creature perched on his chest. He could feel its cracked fingers on his skin before Percival charged and drove it back. He desperately gulped air until he coughed, scrabbling along the floor until he was behind Percival. In relative safety, he stood, wincing at his mistake.
"Sorry guys." He grit his teeth, took a deep breath, and turned back to battle. His mistakes were beginning to wear on his shoulders, but there was nothing he could do about that now. Gianni ignored the pain and bleeding in his scalp to summon up more thread, quickly lashing out strands at the limbs snapping out at Ann. If they connected, he would stick the other ends to the ground to anchor them down. Limiting this thing's mobility so Percival could attack was imperative.

Ann did not expect the creature to have such mobility on its arms, she had the agility to compete, as she clearly reacted to the attack by falling back and turning her head, but her nerves and inexperience had betrayed her, one of the hands managed to slice part of her face, the nails did not manage to impale her, so she should have avoided the life drain, however, the right side of her face began to bleed heavily.
Ann rolled on the ground screaming in pain as her blood kept pouring over her clothes, she pressed the right side of her face with her hand in a futile attempt to stop the bleeding, she had it clear her right eye was lost.
Getting up once more, Ann grabbed her tanto while still screaming like an injured beast, she was determined to pull through the pain for as long as that thing kept breathing, the idea of using her bow again, however, was a distant dream at the moment, she had to get up close just like Percival now.

-ANN!- Percival roared upon seeing the wound inflicted by the monster. Fury boiled inside his veins, seeing his comrade in arms being injured like that. The Rejuvenated Knight decided on a threefold plan as he rushed to assist the Virtual Warrior. First he launched his sword, aiming it in-between Ann and the Jiangshi Lich (Or Jianglich for short) summoning his magical energies, that were rejuvenated alongside his body by the canteen to shield Ann and stop her from having to deal with the being on a close quarters scenario.
The druidic chants echoes in the room as energy flowed towards his blade, still vibrating after piercing the floor just a couple of meters in front of Ann. The second charge of energy came when the holy choir exploded into a single crescendo, proclaiming:
Completing the spell, creating a ghostly golden shield to protect Ann and allow her some distance from the creature, as its attacks hit the shield without denting it. Seemingly a younger Percival meant more powerful spells. -Keep your distance!- He shouted to her, as he charged towards the creature, determined to help Gianni. -You keep what you’re doing laddie!- He shouted as without a hint of doubt he lunged towards the Jianglich, aiming to grab one of his whip-like appendages. Percival clutched it as hard as he could mid-air, using his whole weight to push it and cross it across the creature’s chest. Rolling on the ground upon landing, he kept clutching the arm, moving back and aiming to coil it around the monster’s body, so Gianni could make it stick to its body and use his own weaponized arms as constraints.
-Keep throwing your webs Gianni!- He asked, struggling to hold the creature in place, as it thrashed around, trying to hit Percival, and marginally succeeding a couple of times, with his free arm, leaving crimson lines over his skin.

Gianni's threads fell flat and he quickly began spooling out more. He wasn't sure how much he could produce at this point. Blood was running into his eyes. His head was pounding like waves crashing on the shore. It was certainly less pain than Ann felt right now, and that spurred him forth. He saw her face in the immediate aftermath of the attack. His stomach twisted in knots at the brief glimpse he got. It looked like her face had been run over by a car. He stopped staring when Percival's shield obstructed his view and flicked out his threads as the ancient knight demanded. He sought to glue the creature's arms together and to its skull so they couldn't untangle. "Try for the head!" He cried, looking away. A headshot wouldn't risk destroying his threads, but he also really didn't want to see it.

Ann lost her transformation as she went down on her knees one more time, she was starting to feel light headed from the blood loss but still managed to hear Percival's words which made her crawl out of the way as fast as she could, she sat down on the dusty floor still frowning from the pain as she made a pistol appear on her hands, with a trembling pulse that shook her body to the core, she began firing at the creature, each pull of the trigger made her feel as if she was using a far bigger gun than it actually was, her bleeding had also yet to stop, but at least it wasn't as bad as when the wound was initially inflicted. Ann began to slowly stand up as she kept her aim focused on the creature.

Ann’s bullets weren’t 100% accurate, as the abomination was flailing around, struggling in vain to shrug off Percival’s grip, as the Ancient Knight was holding the arm around it like a straight jacket. Still some of the ballistic projectiles connected, one blew the whole right side of the faceoff, revealing a black skull underneath, he was literally rotten to the bone. Once again, the strange mist exploded from the wound, stretching like bone fingers reaching for the pieces of dried up flesh destroyed by the Virtual Warrior bullets and gluing them back into a makeshift mask, full of cracks through which the green light filtered through. A mad cackle escaped his cracked face, the rotten teeth dancing inside the dark and musty cave his mouth had become after centuries of decay. Percival, while struggling to hold the monster in place, realized that maybe he could keep doing this for a while, but neither Gianni or Ann had fuel on the tank, they were running in fumes. He knew he couldn’t defeat the monster alone thus he decided to pull a gambit, it might work, but it might cost him a lot.
-I’m going to pin it to the ground!- He shouted, his tone indicating this was the first of a series of instructions. -So I can do something else.- His voice cracked when he said this phrase, knowing deep inside that this could kill him, and thus he would be once again forced to revive against his will. -I’m going to do something, don’t get scared and just let it happen.- Summoning as much strength as he could, Percival started walking towards his sword, dragging the monster, that was still struggling. The Ancient Knight stretched as long as he could, grabbing his sword from the ground and shifting his grip from one arm, that was mostly entangled, to the other. -ARGH!- He roared in pain as the fingernails crossed his back, piercing through the heavy coat and reaching his skin, tracing crimson lines on it. Without wincing from it he used the pain and rage to stab the creature elbow, using his full weight to pin it on the floor, stopping the movements of the Jianglich. He stopped for a second to breathe, while the monster attempted to escape, to no avail.
Percival took a large breath and opened his inner pocket, drenching his fingers on the Holy Oil he carried. -I’m going to recharge you, but it won’t last long.- He explained as the sprinkled them with the oil. The Ancient Knight closed his eyes and started praying in whispers. The oil on his comrades started shining, glowing with radiant golden light as a warmness invaded their body. -I can’t win alone, I need you two…- Percival fell on one knee, rapidly aging, jumping from his early 20’s to his late 30’s in matters of moments. -I was ready to die, I wanted to…- More energy poured out of him, like golden wind swirling around the room. He kept aging, climbing the 40’s. -But I can’t die, you remind me of that, I can’t just give up.- Percival reached the age he was when they met him and stopped pouring, in fact, he might be a couple of years older, but the channeling of holy energy was complete. Not only this would rejuvenate them, but also they would be able to channel the same power he did on his sword. -And neither can you...-
The Ancient Knight fell flat on his face, running out of energy empowering his comrades. Behind him, the Jianglich managed to wreck his own arm, escaping from Percival’s blade, his arm once again reformed like the rest of its body, with the mysterious green mist, seemingly sourceless pouring out of the open wound. The Abomination chuckled, his burning green eyes, smoking like his wounds, moving from Ann to Gianni, as his arms launched forwards, one towards each of them, aiming to pierce them through.

It wasn't Percival's blade that ended up striking the abomination's skull but one of Ann's bullets. Gianni felt bile rise in his throat. Corpses were one thing. Outright dismemberment was another. He couldn't look as Percival's blade stabbed through the Jiangshi's arm and deep into the stone floor. "What? What are you doing!?" Gianni stared at Percival in horror. Images of Percival draining himself completely to destroy the lich ran through his head. "You don't have to, it can be killed normally if we just keep fighting!" He yelled as Percival began his rapid aging. He blinked through the golden wind to see it, realizing suddenly the agony behind his eyes was gone. He felt it deep down wherever such things were felt that his thread reserves were restored.
He looked from Percival on the floor to Ann besides him and took a deep, shuddering breath. "We can't let this go to waste!" His voice cracked. His knees shook. But deep inside, something was welling up. Tears were pouring from his eyes, but they glowed with power. He was brimming with Percival's light. His threads began growing out again, fingers winding them into chords. He jumped straight up and the Jiangshi's arm speared the air below him. He threw the threads down in a lasso to pull tight round its torso. How do I channel this!? He looked at his powerless hands and grasped through his memories. "Fáel Fíacail." He managed to croak, mimicking Percival's pronunciation as best he could.

Ann felt as Percival's magic returned her strengths, her bleeding stopped almost immediately, recovering not only her strength but also her reflexes, leaving only a scar and a blind eye on her face.
The Lich attacked both her and Gianni, but she managed to elegantly dodge sideways just by stepping aside, Ann looked menacingly at the creature, she wouldn't forgive it for harming her friends. she began to advance towards it as Gianni channeled the ancient energy given to him by Percival, Ann's virtual machine interpreted the magic as a hard reset, giving her all the points she had before entering the room, she got close to the Licht as her gun was replaced by a flamethrower, and proceeded to give a voice command to the VM:
"Activate the dictionary skill"
Ann proceeded to unleash hell on the creature as she channeled the power of the ancient words through her weapon.

The Unsealed Lich didn’t know what hit him before his claws could reach them, they easily avoided his offensive and retaliated in kind. Gianni summoned golden threads of bright light, that entangled the arm of the creature and upon his chanting started moving, as if he was retracting them back into his skin. The threads were dented and buzzing, like a mixture between a whip and a chainsaw. The energy burnt through the Jianglich’s flesh, cutting and turning into ash several feet of his elongated extremity with pure golden radiance. The arm fell on the floor, shaking like a fish out of the water, but the green mist, coming out from the wound, wasn’t able to pick it up, as the severed extremity was slowly degrading into particles of golden light, floating towards the ceiling. For the first time since the fight started, the Unsealed Lich death mask of a face showcased anything apart from madness, fear was clear on his eyes as his fog didn’t pick up the arm. This moment of weakness and distraction gave Ann plenty of time to attack at her leisure.
The Virtual Warrior’s flamethrower blaze, just like Gianni’s threads, was radiant gold, spewing flames that licked the sides and front of the confused Lich, the flames that didn’t hurt him in life were destroying him on death. Immortality is a great gift, but the source of it is important. Percival knew that he might be able to destroy the Lich, but in the process, both Gianni and Ann could get hurt or worse, that’s why he decided to empower them to do so, betting that they would be strong and smart enough to succeed. The green mist started escaping the distorted frame of the Unsealed Lich, set ablaze by Ann’s attack. His screeching cries of pain echoed in the room as the golden flames lighted up the place, casting heavy shadows, as any flickering flame does, adding the emerald fog to it only added to the supernatural atmosphere being brewed by the attacks. Gianni’s threads, as if they had a life of their own, kept moving up the stump arm, tracing paths of destruction towards the chest.
As this improvised exorcism was happening, the mist, looming over them, started taking shape, turning into a large skull, opening the vaporous maw to reveal tentacles, made of the same vapor, sprouting towards them with slithering movements, like eels underwater. 3 moved towards Ann, two were directly aimed at Gianni and one of them hit the floor and zig-zagged towards Percival, as the physical body was burning below it and being sliced by Gianni’s Holy Threads.

Gianni felt his jaw drop and couldn't lift it. His own power overwhelmed him. His threads acted on their own, looping in ways that he could not command with his own skills, reducing something that could not be killed to dust. The zombie was falling apart into green fog, forcing Gianni's eyes to follow it up into the air. He was more worried about breathing it in than anything until he saw what was forming. "Ann! You handle the fog, I've got Percival!" Gianni jumped to the side, but not quite quick enough.
A tendril cut his side and he yelped as he hit the ground. It wasn't enough to seriously injure him, but he left a red smear as he rolled away. He held the wound as he charged to Percival's side and held out his hands. This time the phrase came easier, a single word to shout. "Imdegail!" He yelled, flicking threads into a diamond shape around himself and Percival. He tied his shout in the hopes the tendril would be cut off by his expanding shield.
