The mole person looked at her chipped war pick and the lack of damage to Victor and spun its weapon to face the other way around so the hammer side faced him. She balked only for a second when he vanished from her dim sight. Her nose snuffled and she turned right towards him. Her fallen companion laboriously picked himself up, also sniffing to locate Victor. The war hammer fell, sweeping for Victor's face.
The other turned his bladed shovel to swipe at Victor with the flat of its edge, but he jerked to a stop when the wight grabbed his back. He silently flailed, but it clung tight and he was driven to his knees by its draining abilities. "What are you doing, tiger boy? Be a real knight and defend your people!" Cherry yelled, raining green bolts on the female mole's back, giving Victor a moment of respite as she turned to glare at the tiny necromancer.

The hammer had almost hit him, invisible and all! Victor hated when creatures could sense him all the same, which happened more often than one would think.
No reason to make it easier, though. He turned just his head visible, so the zombie witch girl could see his disembodied head yelling "Protect WHO? You're surrounded by dead people!"
He went straight for the shoulder of the mole woman, cleaving his claws into the arm that held the weapon. He wasn't ready to go straight for the throat. Philosophically ready, let's say.
"Girl! You take care of the other one!"
He felt so embarrassed yelling this, like he couldn't just kill one mole to set an example for the other, no, he had to drag the girl into his plan while she was clearly trying to do her own thing. But whatevs.

"I-you do not give the orders here!" Cherry shrieked. Her hair stood up even more than usual. The mole person's skin took Victor's claws well, wrinkled flesh catching and lessening the harm of the slashing claws. The only use the attack had besides drawing a small amount of blood was getting Victor within the hammer's range. Unable to swing at such a close range, she reached her jaws down to bite Victor's visible head. Cherry was unavailable to help, supervising the skeletons helping her wight beat the other mole person down.

Victor had his head, helmet and all, surrounded by teeth. He could smell the mole's foul breath.
"Oh... fuck it."
He cleaved his claws, full strength, on both sides of the mole's throat. Four clawed fingers on either side, right beneath the jaw, and then the thumbs from under the chin. He half expected to see his own fingers pop out inside the mouth he was now in.
Victor hated having put himself in this situation. Not only was he trying to kill, he had cursed! (Victor's all for freedom on language, but a cursing knight is not a knight in control!)
(Plus, there was already a shady character called The Cursing Knight, a mysterious "13th zodiac" knight figure that had helped the Earthkeepers from time to time. But we digress - actually Victor did, grateful that at least this time the Knight wasn't around to see his predicament.)

Victor's claws caught again in her skin, causing only minimal damage again. The wrinkles in a mole person's skin were practically made for this situation. However, he did manage to cause enough pain that she released him, holding her shredded jaw. "What are you DOING?" Cherry yelled and rained her painful bolts on the creature, causing spots of her skin to deaden. "Can you do anything right?" The skeletons disarmed the mole and clacked their jaws as they pinned it down.

Victor turned visible and lifted the mole's hammer from the ground. If they used it as a weapon in their own society, it had to be able to damage them.
He gestured towards Cherry.
"Well, you figured me out! I'm sort of a 'boysel' in distress. Thanks for the help. Now let's see if I can whack a mole" he added, looking for another mole warrior.

Cherry crossed her arms and legs in midair and made a retching noise. "Everything you say disgusts me." For now, the tunnel was clear and the zombies shambled in peace, but Victor's superior ears could tell all was not well. There was a shuffling behind the walls just a few yards down the tunnel, suggesting an approaching ambush.

"Well... you're certainly not gonna like *this*." He steadied his grip on the hammer. "But I can hear more of them coming."

Cherry, surprisingly, smiled. "Finally, something you can do! Where are they coming fro-" Before she could finish asking, she learned first hand when the tunnel wall erupted just before the parade of the dead. Out of it scrambled some horrible white thing, like a centipede but soft and covered in a thin fuzz. Its dozens of legs clung to the ceiling and it waved both soft, tentacle-like antennae and small tubes. A toothless hole of a mouth gaped in the center of its head, making no sound whatsoever. "Ew! What is that!?" Cherry floated further away from the monster. The beast ignored the zombies and sprayed a thin white goo from the tubes on its head at Victor and Cherry. The goo hardened on contact, sticking whatever it touched together.

Victor tried to expel his armor! Usually thereĀ“s a flash and Tigerbot appears beside him, in this case probably covered in goo. He could think of no other way to get away from the scene!

Victor's tactic worked as a temporary measure to escape the sticky glop, keeping only the robotic feline trapped in the rapidly hardening sludge. Above, Cherry was coated in the sticky mess and quickly loosing mobility. "Arrragh! I hate this thing! Slay it!" She commanded, and the skeletons scrambled at it. Their spears easily harmed sank into its soft flesh, but soon they as well were glued to the ground. "ARGH! YOU SLAY IT!" She demanded, weakly kicking Victor's shoulder to get his attention. "I'm going to look up what it is!" Cherry fell on the ground and clumsily tried to fish her cell phone from her pocket.

"You got OUT? I thought this was a serious adhesive of some sort, like epoxy." Victor took a few steps back, so as not to be directly beneath the worm, and made his staff materialize in his hands. He then prodded the monster's flesh a bit, watching slime fall down, and suddenly remembered the second mole's spear. He dematerialized his staff, took the spear from the ground and tried to hurt the worm with it.

"I'm not out! I can barely move!" Cherry angrily cried from the floor. Meanwhile, Victor's staff did little to even the monster's thin skin. It ignored the assault and began gumming up zombies. Things changed when Victor used the bladed weapon. Blue blood dripped, and the creature released the ceiling with its front half to bend its body around facing Victor. It waved its strange tubes and attempted to splatter Victor with glue again.

"Yeah, you did not like that! Well, sometimes the only wat yo get out is to move forward!" Street-clothed Victor attacked the creature with the spear as strongly, repeatedly and fiercely as he could.

The creature writhed in pain and made a painfully slow lunge. It didn't manage to even complete the movement before it collapsed, the spear breaking off in its brain. "Finally! Now come get us out of this! Its teeth secrete something to dissolve the glue!" Cherry informed him, having found the information on her phone. If Victor looked inside the seemingly empty maw of the beast, he would find folded mandibles that acted as teeth. He would just need to wrench them loose.

Victor used the spear to cut out the teeth, then ran up to Cherry and started freeing her. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Tigerbot, all glued up, and murmured "In a minute, buddy."

Cherry felt her bonds dissolve and experimentally wiggled. She was free! She stretched on the ground before hovering back into the air. "Good work! You're not so bad, Victor." She smiled at her knight. He was growing on her, despite his stupidity. She finished the web page she had found on the soft monster, the "Grand Ghost Velvet Worm". Apparently they were solo, so there shouldn't be more where it came from. It also wasn't tamed by mole people, and in fact often attacked them. The direction it came from may well lack mole people. She paused, pondering taking this alternate path.

Victor freed Tigerbot, caressed him, then put him on in armor form. He cleaned the spear. He looked at the path where the Grand Worm had come from, and took a couple steps in that direction. He kept looking forward as he said: "If we are to go on, we should go the way of the worms. They're easier to kill and aren't intelligent beings." Without letting go of the spear, he materialized the staff on the other hand. "But if you're serious about this.." Now he did turn and faced Cherry, "this 'dungeon crawling', you have to explain me what's going on, as we walk down the tunnel. What's your name? How are we gonna see down there, how big is this? What's up with these mole people, why now, and why is my town getting filled with zombies? Are they - are they yours?"

"Quiet, I'm thinking." Cherry shushed Victor's opinion. "...let's go where the worm is from! Rally the troops!" The freed skeletons herded the zombies onto the alternate path. "Did I never introduce myself?" Cherry was taken aback by her own rudeness. "I am Cherry Simmons. And this is a simple matter of your town being fools and digging into Mole Person territory to bury your dead. The Mole People didn't like that so I am simply moving the bodies somewhere else. And just stick close. My radiance will guide the way." Cherry's eyes and hair glowed green, lighting up the hallway. Her light revealed a damp cavern, slick with puddles and patches of guano. The sound of a waterfall gushed from deeper within.

"That's SO COOL! I wish I could glow green. Anyway, I'm Victor Gratti, and my robot is called Tigerbot." He accompanied her as they went down the, let's not say worm-hole, because that would give out a sci fi vibe, let's just say they went down the waterfall cavern. "So let me get this straight" Victor added, "you're raising all the corpses so they go somewhere else? And maybe you let a few slip and now they're in my town? Are they... dangerous?"
