Christmas 2017 Snow covered everything in a blanket of cold. Night was just beginning to fade where one man arose to check on the night’s spoils. He silently stepped through his house, avoiding scattered musical toys and books. He stopped in the living room. Everything was exactly as he left it, but that was the strange thing. Last year, it was different. Only the presents he put under the tree were there now. The stockings were empty, just like he left them. Dan shrugged, and like most other Hidden World parents around the world, went back to bed and back to sleep without a second thought. This was just an oddity. After all, could Santa really be expected to come every year? Half a world away, it was only barely Christmas. The sun did not yet rise to illuminate the falling snowflakes, nor would it do so for several hours. The woman sleeping here had no children and no stockings set up. Santa would not stop here on your average day. That’s why it was not sleigh bells that made her stir but something crashing through her window at top speed. Jun woke up with a yelp as a white blur slid across her floor and crashed into the wall opposite her. She screamed when it got up. “Merry Christmas, Shattered One! It’s a day for devils, and I thought I would pay you a visit!” Steam came from a mouth of snow, rolling past teeth made of rocks. The demon lunged, trying to impale Jun on horns twisted from regular branches. Her arm flashed out and the creature fell in twain instead. “Shattered One! What on earth is going on!?” Jun grabbed her tiara and impaled the snow on the ground with her fingers. It made a final roar and began to melt in the warmth of her apartment. “That was a callicantzaros. They’re demons who spend their time trying to undermine the world tree, but they are freed to wander the world on Christmas. However, normally their king keeps them in check. For them to be so far from the North Pole… something must be terribly wrong there.” “North Pole… are you telling me Santa Claus is in trouble?” Jun rubbed sleep out of her eyes. “Almost certainly. And the callicantzari will likely continue to arrive unless we do something about it. I angered them back when I had my palace on earth eons ago. I prevented them from destroying the world tree. It’s very beautiful, you see.” An element of wistfulness came to the voice of the Shattered One. “I’m sure. Well, let’s call a flight. I want a flight I can sleep on. I need it.” Jun glared at the melting snowman in her room. It was just a pile of dirty snow now, the rocks that were its eyes just rocks for the rest of time. “And we need to replace the window.” Jun pinched the bridge of her nose. After dressing, she was on the verge of leaving when she saw a solitary present on her dinner table, painstakingly wrapped in pine-tree paper. “Let’s invite Wilson.” She said, and on she moved. --- The North Pole was entirely a no-teleport zone. It could only be reached by foot, train, or plane. The first two were untenable for a number of reasons, so now Jun prepared to embark on a small passenger plane. Regular flights had been cancelled due to an incident at the pole, but a small group of fighters had been allowed to take a special flight in hopes of sorting it out. Jun Li and Wendigo Wilson were the first to arrive. They were odd next to each other. Jun was wrapped in endless layers of blue in preparation for Arctic cold, but Wilson didn’t even bother with a t-shirt. He wore a tank-top and ragged jeans. Jun was embarrassed to sit next to him on the plane. “We’ll take off when we have everybody else on the charter, so sit tight.” The pilot called back. He was an elf, shorter than Jun with candy-orange skin. “Thank you, sir.” Jun gave a short, snappy bow and sat. Hopefully they would arrive soon. She had little patience for waiting on planes. Dan rubbed sleep from his eyes as he boarded the plane. Just moments after he had fallen asleep, an alert system he had set up on his phone went off. He had set it up to search for interesting adventures back when he had his powers and forgot to turn it off. It had gone off to warn him of a disaster at the North Pole.
He had wanted to ignore it, but Qiang had been woken up by the alarm only to find that Santa was in trouble. To quell his child’s tears, he had agreed to go do something about it. After sending Qiang to Haruko’s house to be watched by Cosmina, he left for the plane. He found it waiting at the coordinates given to him by the alert, just a teleportation station away. He surveyed those who were there. There was only a single woman and a man there besides the pilot, leaving plenty of spots open for himself. He took a window seat far away from everybody else. Like Jun, he hoped to sleep on this flight.

Musashi lands, late night.
The outer areas of the Musashi lands had a nightlife filled with bars and luxury nightclubs, the theme for the Citadel was none other than christmas.
In one of these bars, Gan tengri, the captain of the Royal Guards, was having some time off the missions and the fighting, as he had a sip of his drink, Osechi, his partner and one of the many shinto Kami that were part of the Musashi was having a talk with him.
"I just don't see the appeal of christmas, santa never got me anything when I was a kid, Hell, I didnt even know about him."- Gan told the woman as he examined his drink.
"That's because Santa only brings gifts to the children who behaved well, and I know for a fact you simply didn't"- Osechi replied as she had a bite of colorful ice cream.
"It's not my fault I had to kill in order to survive, not everyone is born in luxury you know?!"
Osechi truly felt sad for Gan, she raised him when he was just a filthy teenager and Made a true man out of him. Her eyes watered as she tried going for a hug.
BAM
Three demonic snowmen stormed the bar as if they fell off the sky.
"The God of war has behaved bad! It's time to die!" The devils chanted in Unison.
The bar was silent for a second as the 40 agents loaded their guns. The demons never stood a chance. A shower of Magic, lasers, bullets, ki blasts and explosives fell on the creatures Even before Gan could pay proper attention to them.
"What kind of Demons are so idiotic to come here?" He asked as he raised a brow, looking at the melted pieces of snowman.
"No, this is not right Gan, there is clearly something wrong in the North Pole, we should go!"-osechi told Gan as she desperately held him by the shoulders
"What? Are you nuts? I'm not going there, you are out of your mind"- The man replied completely weirded out by Osechi's reaction.
"Please help me out! If christmas is ruined, the kids Will be sad!"
"Oh boo hoo, poor kids, they won't have presents! I guess they Will have to settle for a roof over their heads, warm meals and a loving family"- Gan said while looking at his watch.
"You don't get it,do you dear? Mai Will make a tantrum if she doesnt get her gift!"-The goddess told Gan with a pale face.
"God dammit". --------------
As they arrived at the airfield, Gan looked at the plane unimpressed.
"Are you sure this Will get us to the North Pole? I really don't wanna have to swim back"
"Don't worry! Everything is going to be fine! It's not exactly your private jet, but I doubt you wanna take yours all the way there...wait arent you wearing too little to go to the North Pole? I'm wearing a very heavy jacket, what's with the suit?!"- Osechi told him as she looked at him from head to toe.
The agent was wearing a beautifully tailored black suit matched with a white shirt, it was exquisite, even by seamtress standards.
"This is a Miranda Adaway suit, I'm not using the tasteless armor Mai made anymore, this is perfect for any weather and a Lot tougher than you might think, did I mention this is what good taste looks like?"
Both Gan and Osechi boarded the plane.

In a small apartment in New York, there was a black cat playing with a sock. The gifts were under the tree as well some cookies and milk were left on a small table by its side.
The cat stopped playing as it heard something, at first he though those were the children of the house or the mother, but none of them were awake, it jumped towards the window, trying to see if the sound came from the outside.
The snow was covering the street, no one was there.
Maybe I should go outside so they can sleep... - The cat thought. Transforming in his human form, Gallerian left a note saying that he had an urgent meeting with an old friend.
Wearing a pastel blue poncho, white pants and gray boots, the angel went to the outisde.
The strange sound was heard again and this time it came from an alley, slowly walking towards it, the snow began to form a strange ball with teeth and--
The angel made appear its axe, smashing the snow gollem even before it speaks - Oh, Santa must be in trouble, this kinda thing doesn't normally happen... - He said taking out his wings, he could fly to the airport but he tried to fly towards the North Pole he'll end freezing them... he shouldn't take risks...
If more callicantzari began to appear that would ruin Christmas! Families could be in trouble, not only Santa's status!
Once he finally arrived he boarded the plane, so he wasn't going to be alone in that day, he felt a bit sad he wasn't going to spend it with Chloe, Thomas and Derek, but in this case he needed to preserve their happines!! It was his first time in a while when he went in a mision alone.
There was another night in Christmas's Eve, people were leaving a small place where homeless people could have something warm to eat and have a place to stay, the homeless children had gifts and clothes, thanks to the hard work of the contribuitors.
Vladimir Kearney was the last one to left the place, only the owner remained inside with their visits, the ex-paladin made sure the how water tank was working and the electricity was functioning well. He didn't want people to suffer even in that day.
Walking all alone in the streets of London he felt sad, every year he felt the same... He couldn't return to the Kingdom... and someone's birthday was coming. So he was turning 21? Time passes so fast...
Even before he noticed it, each step he took the snow was reaching now his knees. That much snow fell? Looking at his feet, a mouth began to form with sharp fangs. Summoning wind the man escaped, what was going on?
Heh heh heh... a rotten... weak... heart... come with me and let your heart freeze! - The snowman formed its body and began to attack the man. Where did Vlad see such a creature before? Oh! He read about them, so... the North Pole was in danger!
He made five pentagrams that imprisoned the snowman, with a lot of strengh he made them clash against each other, destroying the monster... He didn't knew if he killed it.
After a few minutes, he was now standing in front of the plane... he wasn't going to be that alone it seems. Probably he'll meet more people that would fight by his side... who in their right mind would take a flight to the North Pole in Christmas? Only warriors.
He went inside looking for his seat, so there was... despite of her appeareance an older woman and probably her son... a young girl accompanied by a native american it seemed, there was someone sleeping in the last seat... and a black haired man, the ex-paladin wasn't sure but he felt he knew that face.
Sitting in his seat, he took his scarf from his bag. It was pretty cold right now.

Located inside of a recently-expanded pocket dimension, a strange green-haired woman sat on top of her bed with a layer of heated blankets radiating heat into her body, which didn’t produce heat on its own. She scrolled through her phone, recently purchased since her arrival in this timeline.
“Hm...what fun things do people do on Christmas…” The woman muttered to herself. Everything in the past few weeks had been bizarre...she’d have gone from the miserable world where her creator sent dolls rampaging across the world and commanded her to take over her assigned region of the world...to a relatively simple life of hanging around the kaspa and going out to meet the people of this world. Everything was far more calm in this world, which she greatly appreciated compared to the apocalyptic wastelands of her own timeline...even if she lived like a queen in the city she occupied and kept as many humans as she could safe from her own mindless army.
But right now there was a new problem. Christmas was tomorrow, and festivities were going on right now! “Maaaaaaaybe...Spain could be fun? Oooo...I haven’t seen New York City yet...maybe...Singap-” Before the woman could finish, her phone buzzed with an alert that she immediately checked. “Winter demons spotted around the world...trouble suspected at the north pole…?” She read amusingly. The green-haired woman was preparing to close the notice and go back to searching...when her eyes fell upon a picture of a strange man depicted on the front of the notice.
“Wait a minute...he actually exists?!” The woman exclaimed. Santa was real here?! Was he also real in their timeline…? A wide smile spread across her face as she threw the covers off and began to get dressed for a trip up the the North Pole. “Now there is something exciting...I can save Christmas and meet the myth himself. Oh how exciting!” The woman excitedly said to herself.
---
Seattle
Meanwhile, a tired redhead was sitting in front of her TV, watching an animated show about another redhead who was taken in by a strange masked mage and shown a world of magic. A bag of popcorn laid across her lap, and a glass of iced tea sat on a small end table next to the couch. She had recently returned from a pleasant party at her sister, Haruko Miyata’s, house in California and wanted to catch up on all the episodes that had released recently.
“Well...I guess today went alright…” She muttered to herself. This was Erin Miyata, younger sister to Aria, Alex, Haruko and Seto Miyata, and older sister to Elyssa Miyata. Aria was working at the HWIC offices like always, Alex was probably with his girlfriend, Seto was god knows where, so it was just herself, Haruko, Elyssa, and Haruko’s kids at the Christmas Eve party, with Dan stopping by near the end to drop off his kid for Haruko and Cosmina to watch while he did...something.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed with the distinctive sound she programmed for Alex...who led the HWIC Enforcement division...the division she was a member of. With a wry sense of dread, Erin swiped the screen and answered. “Hey...what’s up?” She asked. “Erin, we need you back at HQ now. Can you make it?” He asked bluntly. Erin looked down at the popcorn laying on top of her pajama pants...and sighed. “Yeah...I can. Be right there!” “Thanks. Dress as warm as you can. Bye.” And with that, Erin hung up the phone and began to put on her winter gear. What were they calling her for on xmas eve? They barely had work for her normally...so getting called in for this was bizarre.
Before she knew it...Erin was staring at the plane everyone else had filed into. Alex had explained that there was a minor problem out in the North Pole, and that it was never a real concern. So instead of pulling valuable resources from their other agents working at this time...it was probably faster just to send her out to wrap it up quickly.
She was dressed in a large black coat with a red interior of the hood, wearing a pair of thick grey pants and a pair of cute white boots with blue laces. A sense of dread washed over Erin as she silently boarded the plane and glanced at the people around herself. These people looked...normal enough...but she got strange authoritative vibes coming from Gan, so she kept her head down and plopped down on a seat near the back of the plane. Perhaps...they would sort this all out themselves and she could just deal with all the reporting? It...could never be that easy, right?
---
Minutes after Erin boarded, another woman practically glided into the plane, looking far more confident entering than Erin did. The woman threw back her hood to reveal her dark green hair that flowed down her face gracefully, the woman brushing a strand out of her eyes to reveal their strange nature. Piercing emerald eyes with snake-like vertical slits in them, the eyes having a splash of light blue toward the outside that made them unnatural...yet interesting.
She wore a stylish white coat with a fluffy brown hood, the coat having a thin black belt tied in the front that helped fasten it against the cold wind. The interior of the coat had a wire running through it that radiated heat into her body, something she desperately needed in this weather. She also wore a pair of jet black winter pants, and a pair of grey boots with several green stripes running along the length of them, the outside sparking with a reflective material sewn into the fabric.
The woman flashed a smile toward everyone on the plane, her eyes looking down the aisles as she sized up the room. A hot guy was near the front...but a girl sat next to him, blocking any attempt at contact for now. She turned to a row further back to see a grumpy-looking woman sitting next to a man...wearing a tank top?! Her jaw nearly fell open at his brazen attire in this weather. Regardless, that was also somewhere contact wasn’t yet possible. There was a cute-looking redhead with her face buried in her phone nearby...she certainly seemed like an interesting candidate.
Looking further back, she saw an open seat next to a rather large man near the back...and he certainly looked strong. Another possible candidate. Her gaze then moved to the other side of the plane, seeing Vlad sitting by himself...his image also a bit strange. It probably wasn’t wise to sit next to someone this stressed on a long flight. And with a delighted smile...she saw a rather pretty-looking man sitting by himself on a row closer to the front. She practically skipped to his row and glided her way onto the seat next to him, placing a black purse down onto the floor between her legs.
“Why hello, I hope you don’t mind me taking this seat. Flights can get awfully boring sitting by yourself, no?” She asked, smiling at the angel and holding out her hand for him to shake. “My name is Caroline, nice to meet you. And just what name may I call my dashing seatmate?” She asked, watching to see how he responded. Caroline did see a ring on his fingers...ok, so flirting was off the table. But that didn’t mean she couldn’t make a friend!

The end of December was fast approaching, the day of Christmas fast encroaching. A time of merriment and cheer, a time for those you found dear. Certain people had even more fun, a shame that this knowledge was not for everyone. T'was the privilege of the hidden world to know, that Santa Claus gifts to all would bestow. All the good girls and all the good boys, would holler and cheer when they saw toys. Yet all was not right, not on this night. Arthur sat perturbed for Santa did not show. He sat, he stood, he paced. Back and forth he went, with ever more urgent haste. His phone sounded a signal for a message someone had sent.
"Oh surely, you jest!" he exclaimed in surprise. With Santa Clause, demons had messed!? This could not be, this could not stand! Then it is up to me, Arthur believed, for all the children in the land! Especially his two angels that went to bed early. Those demons really fucked up, for they made him surly.
Dressed for a fight, standard gear with his favorite coat on, two wings grew on his back so he could take flight. Not to the pole; he did not have permission. Only by plane would he gain admission. With ticket in hand, he boarded as planned. He was certain aboard the plane, this was not in vain. Christmas had to go on, even if it meant the death of demon spawn!
Upon the plane that lead to Santa's rescue, Arthur spoted familiar faces of few. Remembering Haruko's sister's name, to Erin's seat he came. "Fancy meeting you here, are you also going to the North pole to make it of demons clear?"
Aaron climbed the stairs to the airplane with a sour look on his face. Why did he have to go rescue that old fatso?
When the fae courts summoned him several hours ago, he was even more sour. They were taking away the time he was spending with his family for Christmas Eve. "Hmpf," he sounded in derision when they explained his reason for being there. "Why the fuck should I go save that old bastard?" Even as a kid, Santa never brought him many presents. He never did anything for him. Aaron had no obligation to save him.
"Why, you ask?" One of the Seelie heads spoke in a honied voice, her golden hair falling over shoulders of the same hue. "As our bravest guardian, you must assist our kind in the pole. Balancer, if the demons destroy the land of our most prized ally the courts will be misaligned. You cannot permit such a state."
"Aye, and the Unseelie? You're being awfully accepting of this request when you'd benefit so much."
"You wound us, balancer." The Unseelie representative said with clattering mandibles. Its pale blue gemstone eyes stood out against the dark orange of its fur. "The Unseelie would never stoop so low just for a slight advantage. We are only concerned for your sake. Your siblings' sake. Oh, the poor dears would not receive their presents if the bearded deity were to die so violently and so deliciously gruesomely at the hand of demons."
It didn't that the sigil of Andras such as Solomon himself had to see through the Unseelie's feigned concern. Winter was the domain of the Unseelie court and Christmas was an important day for the Court, second only to the winter solstice. If Christmas was ruined, they stood to lose just as much as their Seelie counterparts. It was obvious that the situation would not unbalance them, not enough for concern in any case. This summoning was more of a case of who would lose more if this happened. As they couldn't be sure, the best course of action was to prevent it. And yet, Aaron couldn't say no even if his intervention wasn't needed. Feigned concern or not, they still spoke the truth.
Right, that's why he was going. He was doing it for his siblings. They deserved the presents he struggled to give them and this better put them eternally on Santa's good list. His expression softened a bit as he joined the rest. Were there really this many people going to the North pole? Why the hell did the fae want him to go if there are already that goddamn many? He took off his heavy winter jacket, blue with fur trimming, and took a seat near Dan who was dozing off. Even if he had to fly with these people to help Santa, he didn't have to talk to them on the way there.
As he sat down, he felt something in his pocket poking him. He took out the unassuming stick and looked at it.
"Bring Calesvalon with you," a Seelie with an auburn mane and red snake-like eyes told him. "The magic blade might be of use against the demon hordes."
It was true that it's magical properties made it useless against the fae themselves, but the two-handed sword could probably cleave through demon heads with ease even in Aaron's inexperienced hands. Even it's a transformation into a stick for ease of transport made carrying it more appealing, since he didn't have to lug it around on his back. A little extra firepower definitely wouldn't hurt, he thought as he put it back in his pocket.

As soon as the plane was fully boarded, the doors closed and the speaker light came on. “This is your captain speaking. You are on the Sleigh-1, only stop the North Pole. We expect some blizzards on the way, but that’s nothing that’s out of the norm so just sit tight. Hot coco and marshmallows will be served about halfway through our one hour flight, so look forward to that!” Despite his size, the pilot’s voice sounded perfectly human. Jun and Dan watched more people pile onto the plane, breathing sighs of relief when nobody sat next to them. Jun had Wilson in the seat next to her at least, but Dan had found himself coming alone. The only people he recognized were Arthur and Erin, and Erin not particularly well. He did kind of hope Arthur would sit with him, but instead he stuck to Erin. Dan shrugged and leaned his head against the window as the plane began to move. As it took off, he closed his eyes. Jun was less ready to just fall asleep. She rubbed her eyes and thrashed for a comfortable position, but she was never good at just falling asleep wherever she wanted. So annoyed, she straightened up and looked at the new arrivals.
Unfortunately, with her tired eyes it looked like she was glaring at everybody. She wasn’t, not really. She was in a bad mood, but she could hide it better than that. And she didn’t hate the look of them. It was good to have backup. In particular, the man in the suit stood out. His style caught her eye. She could tell that suit cost more than her rent, and her rent was astronomical. “It’s silly to wear something like that for a mission.” Jun murmured, smiling to herself. She had her usual fabulous dress on under her big blue coat. She had no room to talk. Shame she was in the middle of her training. He seemed interesting.

Gan slightly laughed through his nose when he saw how excited Osechi was at the announcement of cocoa and marshmallows, her eyes were shining, to say the least.
"It's your lucky day, you can have mine as well"- Gan said to her with a gentle smile
"More coco!? yaaayy! ♥"
The agent relaxed and sighed as he looked around at the group of people joining them. He slightly raised a brow the moment he noticed the woman in blue.
"Perhaps...I'm not so unlucky myself"-He said to himself as he slightly reclined his seat.
"I'm gonna go say hi! If I stay in my seat I won't be able to take the wait"
"Be sure not to cause any trouble"- Gan told Osechi without looking at her as she darted towards the man in pink.
Osechi sat in front of dan and peeked at him from the top of the seat, she looked at him from head to toe and began to make small talk.
"HI! I'm Osechi, who are you? won't you be cold in those clothes? do you like coco? what's your favorite food?"

Gallerian immediatly turned his eyes towards the girl talking to him, Oh! What a friendly girl! She was cute as well! He felt happy for already taking the chance to meet someone during the flight instead of waiting until they arrived - Oh! Don't worry, I was getting bored myself too! - He took her hand to shake it - My name is Gallerian, but Gal is just fine! - He said with a bright smile
Of course, his smile only went bigger when he heard the good news! Coco and marshmallows! What a lovely way to start a visit! - So where are you from? Do you come from far away from here? - He asked, having someone to talk with will make the flight shorter. Passing time wasn't a difficult thing for him. Noticing as well someone else was making conversation, he couldn't avoid chuckle a little, that woman was surely what both Thomas and Derek called... a "Social butterfly" he didn't get what that meant... Social well... being social was important, but why butterfly? Oh! Did that meant it was the name to give to people as pretty as butterflies? S-So... they were considering him a cute butterfly? A morpho butterfly? Oh, that was so cute from them!
By other hand, Vladimir already fell asleep curled up a bit on his own scarf. He had been working the whole day for the community dinner, and a bit of sleep would help him. He wasn't in his biggest mood to talk to people, neither feel sure if coming was a good idea either, but it was better than just being alone with his thoughts during that date.

"Gallerian, huuuuuuuh? What a unique name." She commented, having no idea what culture such a name would even come from. When they finished shaking hands, Caroline leaned back in her seat and crossed her legs, watching as his smile grew when they announced that coco and marshmallows would be served. So this man had a bit of childishness in him...good, those people are usually fun to talk with!
"Where am I from...hm..." Truthfully, she lived in the little pocket dimension that the Kaspa resided in, so that wasn't exactly a place on Earth. She did live in her palace in South America in the future timeline, but that was an entirely different culture and landscape than today. "I suppose you could say I live in Australia." It was a good an answer as any, considering that was where Arachne kept his base. "So how about you? Where does Gal come from, and what sort of...unique abilities do you have?" A sly smile crept across her face. "I know you're not mundane, since you're on this plane with everyone else." She said confidently.
---
Meanwhile, Erin stared up at Arthur when he began rhyming to her. "...erm...are you ok...?" She asked awkwardly. Was he cursed to only speak in rhyme?! Did such a spell exist?! "But uh...yeah, I am! My uh...brother asked me to clear this thing up. Easy stuff...right?" Erin gave an uncomfortable chuckle at her statement. She hadn't really known who Arthur is, so it was hard to gauge what he'd find funny. Oh god, he was sitting next to her now! Did he expect her to entertain him through the flight with interesting conversation? What did he find interesting?! Why wasn't Haruko here to break the ice?!
"So...what brings you here? Going to practice your...sick...rhymes with Santa?" She asked, face turning red slightly at the idiotic joke. What were you doing, Erin?!

Arthur looked confusedly at Erin. Was he ok? Why? Then he realized his last sentence was a very forced rhyme.
"Huh, I've no idea what that was all about. Must be this Christmas spirit smacking me over the head." Arthur took off his coat since he didn't need it right now, stored it in his Freezer, and sat down. Erin explained that her brother (who's name Arthur couldn't remember at the moment) told her to come here.
"Heh," he chuckled at her joke. "Yeah, I'm gonna ask Santa to start a rap duo with me. We'll top the charts in no time." He smiled encouragingly at Erin.
"But no. If something happens to Santa, Christmas will be ruined for all the children of the world. I can't allow that! Say, did your brother give you any details? All I know is that demons started showing up everywhere, coming from the north."
AS the airplane started moving, Aaron looked out the window at the passing pavement. This was his first time on an airplane. He'd never had the money or it. Even though Rob always wanted to go on one, there was no way for Aaron to make it happen. And now here he was, flying to the North pole to help out Santa Clause of all people. IF those goddamn asshole fairies could just set up a trip like this whenever, why didn't they do it for his little brother?
Aaron quickly got bored of watching the ground move further away. He leaned back in his seat and figured he might as well try to get some sleep. If he could, now that this woman started talking to the guy he sat near specifically for the peace and quiet. Ugh, how long is a flight to the Arctic anyway?

The plane took off without incident. The cold appeared to be no issue as the nose rose, and soon they were diving upwards into a sea of clouds. The plane darkened, windows showing nothing but black rolls of fog, lit only by briefly flashing lights. Dan considered these ideal sleeping conditions. After prison, he wasn’t picky about where he slept, but the dim lighting and soft vibration of the plane were particularly appealing. He was just nodding off when Osechi’s head popped up over the back of the chair.
“Huh? What?” He found himself bombarded by a sudden barrage of questions, all bouncing off of his skull like bullets used to bounce from his skin. It took him a moment to gather them up and run them through his mind again to respond. “Uh, pleased to meet you, Osechi. I’m Dan.” He offered his hand to shake. “As for the rest, I didn’t catch most of that, but I’ll be fine in this much. I’m resistant to-” Dan went pale and facepalmed. “I used to be resistant to the elements. Uh, yes. I will be cold.” He did this to himself all the time since he lost his powers. He was lucky Leone’s outfit defended him or he would have seriously injured himself by this point. It was just too hard to get used to the fact that his powers were gone. Another elf, this one an ocean blue tiny woman, came down the aisle with a tray full of coco. Wilson could feel the heat coming off of it as it was passed across to Jun. “Unwholesome liquid.” He muttered, chilling the air. “Oh, hush. I’ll drink it all soon enough.” Jun blew on it, trying to cool it off. Wilson shifted away and drank from his ice-cold thermos to keep cool. Everybody else similarly had cups of coco and tiny bags of marshmallows offered, exempting only the sleeping Vladimir. Dan considered hoarding his cup until they got to the North Pole to warm himself when there, but it would surely cool off long before then. Grumbling, he began cooling it off with puffs of air.

Osechi was about to shake Dan's hand when she saw the coco arrive. she almost jumped on the little elf and proceeded to hoard her drink, Gan's and Vladimir's. "I'll be taking these, thank you!"- She told the little elf without really asking for permission.
as she sat back to where Gan was, Osechi looked at the coco with shining eyes, in the blink of an eye she perfectly lined up the marshmallows over the drinks, and proceeded to set her palms together as she said: "Itadakimasu!
In a fraction of a second, Osechi had finished all three cups, it was almost as if she had completely ignored the heat of the drink. Still licking her lips, she proceeded to munch on the cups as well. "yum ♥!"
Gan, who was completely used to the eating habits of her partner, simply looked to the other side. Once he noticed she was finished, he grabbed a tissue out of his pocket and carefully cleaned her mouth. "You are paying for those cups ok? you were not supposed to eat those"- He told her as if he was speaking to a child.
"EHHHHH??!"

Te-he! - The angel chuckled as he grabbed the cup of coco and marshmallows so he could drink it - my brothers had gave me that name... it doesn't mean anything, is invented
He explained, most of angels had names that mean beautiful things or sometimes what they did... sadly in his case he never got one with such characteristics. A meaningless name... the more he thought about his name the more he was convinced it meant "Gallery" but gallery of what?
Oh, you are from a really interesting place. I like it - He took a sip before continuing - I'm an Angel of Creation. I help to create life and make species grow. I may be from Heaven but you could say I'm from Netherlands... Do you work ot study? - He asked, looking at his companion, he clearly was enjoying the moment.

Like Gal, Caroline happily accepted the cup of coco and marshmallows, taking a sip as she listened to him explain his name. "Your...brothers named you...?" Caroline asked curiously. Did this man not have parents? Were they perhap dead, and he was raised by his fellow siblings? The doll's eyes widened when he said he was an angel of creation.
"Wait...you're an angel?!" She asked with surprise. Actual angels existed?! It did seem to make sense on the surface...since this man did look naturally pretty. One could say...divine. "Huh...never encountered an angel before. I’ll spare you the jokes about ‘falling from heaven’, if that’s ok with you.” Caroline said with a joking smile. “As for me...my line of work is a little unique. I suppose you could call me a...therapist.” She mused.
“But don’t get the wrong impression, I do much...much more than that. I hold little classes occasionally to show people how to act, I hold lots of parties, and I am very...very well connected with some powerful people.” She said, leaving that last part open to interpretation. Reaching into her purse, Caroline pulled out a small deck of colorful cards. “Say...would you care for a quick game of Uno? I assume you know how to play, I hear it’s popular.” She asked the angel. As she opened the card box, she continued. “So what line of work did you get into? I assume angels don’t become priests, do they?”
Gallerian chuckled at all the questions Caroline made, and began to answer them when he finished his drink. Accommodating his hair, the angel replied. “Yup! And don’t worry, I’m used to those jokes” He shrugged with a sweet smile and then it went into surprise when he heard the doll’s profession “Oh, that’s lovely! Helping people is something really important! You must be a really nice person” He praised. His face turned into a bigger smile when he saw the cards, he loved that game since the more people the better. But this time it’ll be the two of them. “Oh, I like this game. I’m pretty good too!” He commented, before continuing he gave her a card “I work on a small café on Amsterdam, I’m the manager and owner… and… not really, I’m also the royal guardian of a Prince” He chuckled again. This girl was funny and interesting “No, no, we can’t become priests. We assist them as sidekicks but nothing less”
“Cafe owner and guardian to a prince, huh? Well don’t you have a wide skill set.” Caroline commented, dishing out the cards and beginning the game. “So what makes an angel want to deal with Santa of all people? Won’t the little prince get captured by a dragon or something? Or is that just with princesses?” She joked, watching the back of his cards.
“Oh, don’t get me wrong, my wife is also his guardian so he’ll be fine, he is also a nice kid” He observed his cards, making sure to organize them and keep the “high tiers” just when needed. “I care about Christmas as much kids does”
The admission made Caroline chuckle a little to herself. “Well, it’s a nice gesture of you. I’m only going because I had no idea Santa actually existed...and meeting him would be like seeing the Loch Ness Monster, right? Something only spoken about in legend? Kinda like this draw 2.” She said, putting down a blue Draw 2 card.
“Eh?! Already making a move? Take this!” He put down a red Draw 2 card “Oh, there is plenty of things that are true! But, of course is not the same being told than actually seeing it!”
Caroline’s eyes widened slight at the answer to her card. “Well dang...that was my only draw 2.” She said with mock disappointment. The two continued to play and talk, Caroline finally getting down to 2 cards. “...and that’s how I ran into Bigfoot while hiking around. Who would have thought he was just one giant troll who wanted the attention?” She asked, placing down a blue 9.
“Hehe” He chuckled at his little first victory. Of course as he talked he got more into the chat than in the game at the point of putting a green 6 down. “Oh, I didn’t knew that… I thought he was a shy boy”
“I know, right?! He was nice enough at least. Uno, by the way.” She stated, not noticing the green 6 and placing down a green 2. Her mouth grew into a smirk as she eyed Gal, seeing if he had an answer to this problem.
“Oh no! W-Wait… I didn’t said Uno a-and… I made a mistake…” He said, picking up the green 6 to see the blue 9. He puffed, he got distracted with the talk and then he couldn’t win! And now he had to take two cards now! “Oh, well… I think you win”
The smirk grew as Caroline raised her hand and dropped down a wildcard to end the game. “Great game, that was really fun. If you ever wanted to challenge me again...or talk about whatever…” The snake-like doll reached into her pants pocket and pulled out a small green business card with her name and number on the front, the card decorated with a pleasant grassy pattern. She then stood up and held out her hand for him to shake, giving him a smile and heading off toward the back of the plane after he took her hand. What a fun person to start the night with!
---
Phew, Arthur didn’t seem to think she was too stupid for the joke. A wave of relief washed over Erin when he heard his question on if there were any details. “Hm...you know, I don’t know much myself. Santa apparently keeps these things in check...but that doesn’t seem to be happening right now. But it’s usually nothing...a few years ago a few elves went on strike and we sent a few agents to mediate. I heard they got extra presents from Santa himself!” Erin exclaimed. Hopefully Santa would give them extra presents for their troubles! If he didn’t...well...this did still count as billable hours she guess.
“Soooo...you plan to go to that Christmas party tomorrow at Haruko’s...or do you have some fancy party already planned with like...juggling elephants or something?” She asked, having no idea what rich people on Arthur’s scale did for parties. Erin also wasn’t sure if Haruko and Arthur had mended things or not...for she heard all about how he tricked her into taking her kids into his resort to deal with a bunch of child kidnappers. Why would you want your friend to bring their kids to a situation like that?! She couldn’t just ask!
When Caroline approached on her way to the back, Erin stared at her with curiosity. What was up with those strange eyes...and just who was this person? Caroline noticed the attention and gave a wink toward Erin, who promptly took an interest in the floor. Caroline couldn’t help but smile as she reached the seat next to Dan and glided into it like she did with Gal.
“Excuse me, I couldn’t help but notice your energetic conversation partner got distracted by hot chocolate and marshmallows. Hope you don’t mind me providing some entertainment instead.” She said, reaching her hand out for him to shake. “Name’s Caroline, nice to meet you. So since you’re sitting in the back...I take it you’re the bad boy loner who shoots spitballs at the nerds up front?” She asked, smiling and waiting for him to shake her hand. The joke was doubly funny to her, considering the pink shirt he was wearing made Dan seem far less threatening to her despite his bulk.

Arthur took his coco while Erin talked and passed a mug to her as well. Huh, was he worried for nothing? I this was just a minor setback, Arty had nothing to worry about! Still, he better make sure.
"Ehehe," Arthur chuckled nervously when Erin asked about Haruko's party. "I'll send some gifts to Haruko's place. Love said she wanted to go there, too, so she can bring them over. I don't think Haruko'd like me there quite yet. She told you about the whole resort debacle I'm sure. But we're patching things up! Next year it's probably gonna be fine. In the meantime, Haze and me will think of something. Juggling elephants do sound fun now that you mention them. Or did you mean I should juggle elephants? That's probably fun, too. If I could find small enough pachyderms."
Arthur took a sip of his cocoa. Yikes, too hot, too hot! While he fanned his tongue he noticed Erin looking at the cute girl passing by.
"You know that girl? Or do you just wish you knew her?" --- Aaron took his coco without giving it much attention. He couldn't care less about coco right now. What he really wanted was a cigarette, but the airplane didn't permit smoking. The desire was putting him in a foul mood, especially now that the previous loud-mouthed girl talking to the big guy in a pink shirt was replaced with another talkative one.
He absentmindedly sipped his cocoa when the taste of half-melted marshmallow and hot chocolate woke something up in him. A memory from long ago. It was just a snapshot now really. A picture of him sitting on the couch, holding a warm mug filled with warmer chocolate. His sister, just a baby with pale skin back then, laid in their father's arms. His father himself seemed quite lively, completely unlike the husk of a man Aaron had to watch every day for many years before his passing. He'd just told a joke Aaron couldn't recall anymore but he still remembered how hard he laughed at it. And then there was his mom. He last saw her face almost 8 years ago. It had gotten so blurry over those years, but he could see her smile so vividly now. A funny little crinkle formed on the bridge of her nose when she genuinely laughed and it was hard to miss now. Her amber eyes, very similar to Aaron's, looked at her family with so much love and joy. Short red hair, something she was always proud of, seemed to glow with a fire Aaron couldn't describe. It swayed lightly while was tossing her son a bag of tiny marshmallows.
And then the image faded. Aaron felt a wet drop sliding down his cheek. He brushed it away, cursing the leaky overhead of this shitty plane. Then he took another whistful sip of coco.

Jun watched the room out of the corner of her eye while she sipped her coco. The elf was retreating to the cabin, wide eyes glancing back at Osechi. Jun felt a pang of sympathy. Service jobs were the worst even when your customers didn’t eat the cups. She wondered what exactly the relationship of the paired people around her were. The kid and the redhead behind her seemed to be casual acquaintances, but what were the suited man and cup-eater? They didn’t quite look similar enough to be siblings, but they also didn’t seem to be a couple. They were certainly close though. Adoptive siblings? Jun dabbed her own mouth with a blue handkerchief, showing off the peacock blue silk rather than using one of the napkins handed out with the coco. Dan left his arm hanging in the air for a moment before dropping it. Should he remind her of his presence? No, that felt far too awkward now. He thought he was making a friend, but apparently not. And now the turbulence was picking up, plane bouncing like a boat on the waves. It would be tricky for even him to sleep. He closed his eyes to make an attempt regardless, only to find himself jumping when somebody suddenly spoke to him. “Ah? Uh, yeah, it seems food is a lot more interesting than me.” Dan smiled, shaking Caroline’s soft hand. His own was cracked and calloused from endless training, making for a rough surface. The rest of what she said struck him as odd. It was obviously sarcasm, but the way she said it… was this flirting? A mixture of confusion and paranoia struck him.
The last time a woman had come on to him, he had sired an army of abominations. He couldn’t do that anymore, but did she know that? He didn’t get the mind-numbing vibes from this woman that he did from Abijah, but she might just not be feeding on him right now. It took him a second to realize his paranoia. If she was affiliated with Abijah, she would know that his powers were gone. That just led to the fear that he was seeing things that weren’t there and would make things very awkward if he responded in kind. So he just smiled and waved his hands. “I haven’t been a bad boy in years. I just don’t really know anybody except for Arthur, and he’s talking to somebody else.”

"I'm amazed people can actually have drinks while this thing is bouncing around, God I really wanna land soon"- Gan was clearly beginning to reflect on all the downsides of being in a plane. For instance, being locked with the hyperactive Osechi. The woman with green hair that just kept changing seats was also getting to his nerves, but that other girl's companion...he was just disturbing. Half naked, seemingly malnourished. Having Jun next to Wilson was like having a rose in the midst of a blizzard, it just didn't make any sense...At that point, Gan could only think he was a familiar summon of sorts.
Osechi had yet picked another group of people at random, she jumped from the back attempting to scare both Arthur and Erin
"RAWWR!!"
She hadn't even seen who she jump onto, but the moment she looked at Arthur and Erin she smiled
"Wow, aren't you a pretty girl!...I'm Osechi by the way, but you can call me Osechi!...what is a kid doing here? shouldn't you be asleep, waiting for presents at home? or perhaps you are some sort of hero kid?"
she extended both hands to greet them at the same time, while Gan just frowned in the background.

“Phew...nice to hear you to are patching things up. I uh...had no idea what the heck was going on with you two, and it’s not really something...easily asked.” Erin said, shifting slightly. At least Arthur didn’t seem too weird about explaining this stuff. Haruko was furious when she told Erin all this, but that was a while ago at this point. It was also reassuring to hear him to along with her dumb joke about juggling elephants.
“Pfft, with your company, I’m sure you could find both!” She exclaimed. When Arthur asked about the person who just passed by, Erin immediately snapped back to his attention. “Wha-I mean, no, I don’t know her! I uh...just was trying to see why her eyes looked strange and ye-EEEEE!”
Erin let out a squeak when Osechi came bursting out from between their seats acting like some kind of cartoon lion. Her back was pressed against the window, trying to make sense of who this strange woman who just appeared was. “Pretty?! Uh, I mean, my name...Erin, yes!” She stammered out, reaching out and shaking Osechi’s hand. There was something really off about this girl...she just knew it! Who just startles random strangers?!
“Erm...he’s older than he looks. At least that’s what I’m told. Anyway uh...nice to meet you!” Her heart rate was finally starting to return to normal after being startled. “Soooo...how’d you end up on this trip? You coming to help the kids or...something?” She asked. Her eyes wandered to see the scary-looking Gan frowning at them in the background, Erin’s eyes darting back so they wouldn’t meet his. Why was he frowning at them now?!
---
The handshake told Caroline quite a bit about Dan’s personality, along with his subsequent answers to her questions. “Hooooh?” She asked with interest. “So you were a bad boy at some point, eh? Given your figure and hands...you obviously train quite a bit. Though…” The snake-like doll tilted her head to give him a sidelong glance. “...your hesitation there interests me. It almost seemed like you were worried about something.” Lightly hitting the side of her head with her knuckles, Caroline let out a small chuckle.
“Oh, where are my manners? I shouldn’t make assumptions about people I just met, even if they seem fascinating.” She said, folding her hands across her lap and looking at Dan once more. “So Mr. Ex-Bad Boy, there something on your mind, or you just surprised a woman like me would sit next to you out of the blue?” She asked, flashing him a smile. Her eyes brefly flicked to the scene between Osechi, Arthur and Erin, Caroline finding amusement in the situation as she talked with Dan.

The angel played with his hair as he noticed he was getting bored. He turned around on his seat ñike a little child and started observing everyone again.
He couldn't help but to laugh at Osechi's growl. What a lovely... ugh? He observed her more and woah! She was older than any of them! The angel giggled as he felt he finally met someone like him, it couldn't be true that the eldest were always boring and so negative! His older brothers were always like that and complained over Gal being too childish.
His train of thought moved towards the red haired man, an incredible amount of sadness was trying to break out and yet the man tried his best to not show it. The compassion in the angel's heart told him to help... but that guy didn't seem that open. Maybe something less notorious could help, he didn't want him to feel exposed either.
Making appear a single feather from his wings that were hidding, the angel changed is appearnce to a handkerchief. It was still a feather but it was soft enough to help him wip his tears... or wip his nose.
Oh! He also spotted someone else! Two of them! The Ice mage... August? Was there! And also the girl of the Resort... Li? Or Lee? She looked better than last time! Of course! He sensed she was a strong girl, it was good she went through that situation... he also hoped her and Ma-Martha, right? Were friends, he should ask her later.
He let the feather-handkerchief fly towards Aaron first, he only hoped none would try to catch it..

Arthur and Erin's conversation was interrupted by a wild beast's roar. No, wait, it was just a girl cutely trying to scare them. She even succeeded with Erin apparently. More pressingly, there seemed to be a larger number of cute girls on this flight than usual. Osechi, the girl said her name was. From the barrage of sentences, she seemed to have some issues keeping her attention on just one thing at a time.
"How did you see through me so easily? You're right. I'm the kid hero and idol to all the kids around the world, Heroman! Except Erin is right. I'm actually 30, go on adventures for fun, and I'm called Arthur. Nice to meet you." He shook her hand. While Erin asked her question, Arthur noticed Gan frowning in the background.
"I don't think your boyfriend likes that you're talking to us. He's not the overly jealous type, is he?" ---
Aaron was lost in memories when something floated over to him. A handkerchief? He looked around suspiciously. Did someone see him? But it didn't appear that anyone was looking at him. Well, nothing he could do about it now. He grabbed the tissue out of the air and was instantly surprised by its softness. He used it to wipe away the remnants of his tear and stuffed it in his pocket in case he needs it later.
