"...and that's how I solved a diplomatic incident with a needle." Haruko concludes, glancing between the 4 people she was with. Kate remained quiet throughout the story, as she had already heard it from Haruko earlier, but it was still entertaining to hear once more. To Haruko's right was Arthur Cromwell, one of her friends who had decided to hang out with her today. Loveline, Arthur's daughter, also walked beside him, obviously coming since the whole point of this exercise was to have the children socialize a bit. And of course there was Hazel, Arthur's other daughter, holding Arthur's hand and walking between him and Loveline.
The five of them strolled through one of the nearby parks in a town nearby to where Haruko lived, observing the various wildlife that inhabited it. Surely nothing could go wrong today.
"So, do either of you have any cool stories you want to tell?" Haruko asks, having finished with her own.

Hazel looked at her father as he started telling Haruko about the time some tentacle monsters almost raped him (whatever that means) but he was saved by a bunch of Slimes. Then she looked at her sister. "...and then all his hair fell off. I think it still didn't grow back, but I can't be sure since he started wearing a wig after that." She was apparently busy telling Kate about a claministry (or something like that) teacher she had in elementary school. Unfortunately, Hazel wasn't interested in either of those topics. What she was interested in was a squirrel that ran by. She never saw a squirrel outside of a picture book and she always thought they lived in trees. Curiosity getting the better of her, Haze let go of Arty's hand and ran after it, determined to find out why it wasn't in a tree.
"...And then it- Hazel? Hazel, don't run off like that! Come back!" The little girl was unresponsive. Perhaps she didn't hear him in her excitement. Oh well, kids need their exercise. in fact... "Love, why don't you go watch over her? Make sure nothing happens to her." To which his eldest rolled her eyes and ran after the little girl. "Come on, Kate. Race you to her!"
Arthur watched the girls run off and was about to continue his story when he noticed something that he didn't like. A figure in black with what appeared to be a white mask on its face. Even with the mask, Arthur had the feeling that the figure was looking at Hazel. Barely a millisecond after it was spotted, the figure disappeared. Not a trace of it existed anymore after that sudden disappearance, not even a shoe print. Huh, must have just been Arthur's imagination, a trick of the shadows.
"Anyway, as I was saying..."

"Whoa...that is so cool!" Kate exclaims as Loveline finishes her story. She always found chemistry and biology to be interesting subjects, especially when used in conjunction with her powers. Hearing the challenge, Kate runs off to catch up to Hazel. "You won't beat me!"
Looking back at Arthur, Haruko briefly saw his face grow dark, but then back to normal right away. Did he see something? Regardless, he began telling his story again...
...Until they were all interrupted by a small explosion coming from nearby. In the distance, the group could see distinct trail of smoke billowing into the air, indicating that a fire was nearby. Turning to Arthur, Haruko holds up her hand for a second. "Hold that thought. Let's see if anyone is hurt over there, Frosty. Kate! Can you and Loveline grab Hazel and follow us over here?"
Haruko was about to run towards the smoke, but didn't want to leave the kids behind.

Seeing Haruko pause, Arthur put a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Love can protect them if anything happens. Now come on, we need to hurry." Arthur ran towards the smoke but not so fast as to leave Haruko behind. Whether that was because he wanted to have backup if he needed it or because he was reluctant to go towards a place surely filled with fire is up to your interpretation.
Hazel stopped when she heard the explosion which let Love and Kate catch up to her easily and at the same time. "Come on, Haze, we need to see what happened." Hazel nodded with an expression showing more curiosity then one would expect from a child who just heard an explosion. "You should stay close to Kate. Kate, you should stay behind me. Just in case."

Following Arthur, Haruko and the others make their way to the scene of the crime. It was there that they saw a small blaze spreading across the park, with multiple trees on fire and some of the grass starting to catch fire as well. The two could barely see a figure in the center, appearing to be starting the fire. "Hey! Quit it with the fire over there!" Haruko shouts at the person.
Back with the other 3, Kate nods her head. "Sure...but I am still going to help! I can do stuff too!" Grabbing a nearby rock, Kate begins to upgrade it's insides into condensed water, beginning to pressurize it all. She was going to make a few of these water grenades, and lob them at the fire to put it out. Hopefully.

The fire-starting girl whistled as she spread the fire. She had orange hair and was wearing jeans and a t-shirt that barely reached below her bosom. She had a piercing on her navel. She was holding a tiny ball of fire and was just about to throw it when she heard Haruko shouting at her.
"Hm?" She looked at the group. "Why? I'm just sharing the beauty of fire with this city. Shouldn't everyone get to see something so beautiful?"

Haruko raised her eyebrow slightly at the woman in front of her. What exactly was her motivation here? Just to spread fire for no good reason? "No! You're destroying people's property here! Stop with the fire now, or we'll have to stop you ourselves!" Haruko calls out to the arsonist, placing her right hand into her jacket and pulling out two regular knives. She would use explosive ones, but there was grass around and she didn't want to risk starting any more fires.
Glancing over to Arthur, she motions towards the arsonist with her head. "So, you ready if she doesn't stop this?"

"I'm not a big fan of fire, you know. But I guess I don't have a choice." Arthur commented while looking at the fire girl. There was something strange about her, but he couldn't tell what exactly.
"NO! The world must see the beauty of fire! I will be the prophet of the flames! If you wish to keep true beauty away from others, I will make you see the folly of your ways!" The arsonist somersaulted backwards and high into the air, landing on top of a burning tree with superhuman grace. Two tiny orbs of fire appeared in her hands and just as Arthur thought that such small fireballs wouldn't be a problem, they grew to the size of beachballs. She threw one straight at Haruko and the other at Arthur.

Reacting quickly, Haruko dives out of the way of the fireball, amazed at how fast she was able to charge up an attack like that. Just how powerful was this girl?! Reaching into her coat, Haruko tosses three explosive knives at the arsonist, having abandoned the risk of catching other things on fire, as this girl was going to make something as small as that seem like nothing by comparison.
"Hey, this isn't beauty, this is arson! Enough with the fire!" Haruko calls out, hoping to distract her long enough for the explosive knives to reach their target.

Arthur erected a wall of ice to protect himself from the fire and the ensuing explosion. "I hate fire users..." Arthur muttered and pointed towards the terrorist. Ice shards hurled toward her, joining Haruko's knives and she smirked. She summoned another two orbs and threw them, one towards the knives and the other towards the ice. Just as it reached the knives, the fire fireball exploded, the resulting shockwave knocking the knives off course and out of the sky. The other flame consumed the ice before colliding with a ball of frost. Arthur suddenly came out of the steam and water that appeared where they collided and the surprised girl barely had time to raise her arm, shielding her head but earning a large gash on her arm.
"Bastard! You'll pay for that!" Another fireball appeared in her hand and it exploded instantly, launching Arthur back. It would have killed him had he not prepared chest armor, expecting such a move. What he didn't expect was for her to jump after him.
"DIE!" Flames engulfed her hands as she struck down like a hammer. A large explosion occurred in the air and a lot of dust and debris flew off from the ground. As the dust settled, an egg made of ice exploded, revealing an unharmed Arthur and launching shards of ice at the girl again. Her hand exploded again and she was launched back to the top of the tree, but a few shards still managed to cut into her leg.
"Not bad. You have some skill. I would almost be worried if I didn't have backup."
"Backup or not," the ice shards suddenly melted and her wounds were cauterized, "I won't lose so easily." She summoned another fireball. Then she jumped forward and turned around towards Loveline who had manged to sneak behind and jump at her with a dragon claw for a hand.
"Shit." She said as the arsonist threw the fireball at her. Luckily, Arthur created a platform for her to jump off of before the fire reached her.
The girl landed on the ground, but a jolt of pain passed through her leg and she ended up falling on the ground.

Haruko was about to throw another explosive knife at the fireball to set it off course, but luckily Loveline dodged the fire. This was bad, though luckily Arthur was there to tank most of the hits she couldn't. If this got any worse, she'd need to use her gem girl form. Drawing five more of her knives, she walks over to Kate and hands them to her. "Hey, can you upgrade these to have a bigger explosion?" Haruko asks her adopted daughter. Kate merely nods her head, holding the knives in her hands as she began upgrading them with her magic ability. Once they were finished, the knives were given back to Haruko, looking no different than before.
Seeing that Arthur and Loveline were finally away from the woman, Haruko decides to take this opportunity to toss one of her upgraded explosive knives at the fire woman, which was aimed to explode directly in front of herself. These explosive knives were around twice as powerful as a normal one, and would send anything around it flying backwards with the explosion. Kate, meanwhile, managed to find a bottle of water on the ground and was busy upgrading it into a usable weapon.

The knife's explosion sent the already downed arsonist flying into a somehow-not-yet-on-fire tree. Following up on the opening, Arthur rushed forward, ready to cut her down for good now. But he paused just as he reached her. Despite her passionate speeches about the beauty of fire, her eyes seemed somehow mindless. Distracted by that observation, he gave the girl an opportunity to launch him away with an explosion.
When he landed, he froze him self to extinguish the flames that appeared on his clothes. Then he cast a healing spell. In the meantime, the arsonist got up using the tree for support. But there was something different about her clothes now. Apparently, Arthur managed to swing his sword before he was knocked away. While he didn't reach the skin, the front of her t-shirt was now ripped, revealing a tattoo in the middle of her chest. It depicted a burning heart with wings which was also made of fire. In the very center of her chest, in the heart, there was a strange orange gem. That was not a tattoo.
But before anyone got a chance to examine her chest, er, tattoo more closely, she covered it with her arm. "That's enough! Just die already!" She raised her other arm above her head and fired a fireball into the sky. Then another. And another, and another and another. Each of the five balls then split into five smaller ones which locked onto the arsonist's opponents. Five on Haruko, five on Arthur, five on Loveline, Kate and even on Hazel who had yet to manifest Yancy's obsidian manipulation.

Staring at the tattoo and gem, Haruko couldn't help but think that perhaps that was the source of her power. Unfortunately, her thoughts are soon cut off by 5 fireballs that were headed towards both her, and at everyone else! Running backwards to protect Kate and Hazel, Haruko groups all 5 of her fireballs together, before tossing another upgraded knife at them to explode upon impact, hopefully dispersing those 5. Just before she could move onto Kate, a strange popping noise could be heard nearby, followed by the sound of steam forming. Looking back at Kate, she stood holding the now empty bottle of water, having upgraded it to hold many times the amount of water it should normally hold, then releasing all that pressure at once upon her own fireballs, cooling them down with the pressure of a firehose. That left only Arthur, Loveline and Hazel with fireballs remaining.
Thinking quickly, Kate tosses two of her water grenades at the fireballs approaching Hazel, while Haruko desperately tries to intercept a few of them with her knives. Hopefully Arthur was aware of this, because Kate's normal human strength couldn't possibly hit more than two of the fireballs approaching his youngest daughter.

Kate and Haruko had no problems dealing with their fireballs. Arthur decided to have a little fun with his balls, waiting for them to come close to him before creating a wall of ice. One ball struck it and exploded; the other four managed to get around the wall. He backflipped away and pulled off his coat, using it to set off one of the balls. Then he made wings and took to the skies and the three fireballs followed him. Just as they got close, he went into a nosedive and passed right between them. Unfortunately, the balls did not crash into each other as he hoped they would. Disappointed by the ineffectiveness of that stunt, he gave up on playing around and fired a storm of ice shards at the fireballs. The fireballs did quite a good job of avoiding them, but eventually two exploded. Just before Arthur landed, he finally noticed that some fireballs were even aimed at Hazel.
Hazel was watching from the sidelines, standing in a part of the park that was not yet on fire. She watched as the others fought, cheering them on and didn't realize that some of the fireballs were coming for her until they got really close. She froze at that moment. Then one of the fireballs exploded; Haruko's knife had struck it. Two more were extinguished by Kate's water bombs. A wall of ice appeared in front of Hazel and another ball was taken care of, but the last one went around it and Hazel screamed.
BOOOOOM
"Weeeeeeeee!" Loveline squealed gleefully as her last two fireballs struck the turtle shell that formed on her back and the explosion launched her into Hazel. She lay on top of her sister, protecting her from the last ball with her shell. She got off of the sobbing Hazel and saw tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"
"N... No..." Hazel managed to squeeze out the answer between sobs.
Arthur was so relieved that Hazel was saved despite his incompetence that he completely forgot about his last fireball and it struck him in the shoulder.
The arsonist, seeing that everyone was distracted by the little girl, took the opportunity to use an explosion to launch herself at Haruko with a flaming fist that would explode upon impact. If she missed, she would attempt a blazing roundabout kick.

Relieved that Loveline had managed the last minute save on Hazel, Haruko turns her attention back to the arsonist, who had appeared to be rocketing towards her now with a flaming fist. This wasn't good, especially when Kate was so close. "Kate! Get back!" The battle seamstress yells, which Kate hurriedly complies with. With the path now clear, Haruko faces down her opponent.
Drawing two of her longer knives, Haruko charges forward with ki-enchanced strength and attempts to slash her knives across the arsonist's fist, hopefully stopping her momentum. Not wanting to potentially chop off her fingers, Haruko used the blunt side of the knife to strike with. If the momentum were to be slowed down, she would then try to side step and plunge her second knife directly into the arsonist's calf, trying to stop her from moving any more.
What she didn't expect was that the fist would explode upon contact with the knife. The explosion rocketed up her arm, creating various burns that traveled up her arm and even affecing her chest and shoulder areas. Wincing in pain, Haruko is then knocked backwards a few feet, where she lands crouched on the ground. Luckily, she had managed to toss her previous knife at the arsonist's calf before the explosion, though she didn't know if the knife made it's mark or not.
Meanwhile, Kate stood to the side of the battle, holding onto a stick and attempting to upgrade it as fast as she could. What was she doing...?

Half of Arthur's shirt was missing and he was breathing heavily. Even after healing his bur, the pain didn't go away completely. He really felt like smashing that burning bitch's face right now. But there was no time for that. His daughter was crying. She needed him more then the arsonist needed a fist to the face. He crouched down next to Hazel and pulled her into his chest. "Shhh, it's okay. You don't have to be scared. We're here. We will protect you. We'll always protect you." He kept on comforting her until her she stopped crying. "I'll go punish the lady that scared you. You stay with Loveline at all times until this is over." He pulled some clean clothes seemingly out of thin air and handed them to Love. "Go help her get changed."Then he turned to Kate. "Katie, you should do something about all of this fire before the whole park burns down. Leave the fighting to us."-------------- "Gah!" The arsonist was stabbed in her leg again! These pyrophobes are really getting on her nerves. She pulled out the knife and sealed up the wound. "You bitch... You should just accept the beautiful death I'm offering you!" Her fist caught fire once more and she launched herself at Haruko again. Then something struck the side of her arm, knocking her off course. Then something struck her in the chest and she was sent flying. "That's a nice little magic gem you got there. You should know that it's the only thing stopping me from crushing you to bits right now." Arthur appeared in front of her while she was still in the air before creating an ice platform and kicking off of it, slamming into her and then into the ground using her as a shield. "Now, let's see what you're like without the gem." He grabbed the shiny stone and pulled. "No! Get off of me you pervert!" She tried punching him with a burning fist and he blocked it. The ensuing explosion was canceled out by an equally strong explosion of frost. "Sorry, but I already learned how to do that myself. Now stop resisting!""NO! You won't take me! The world needs to see the beauty of fire! It needs to see my beauty!" The gem itself exploded this time and Arthur was launched back towards Haruko at an incredible speed. He was not expecting that. The girl started convulsing and screaming in agony. Fire rushed out of the gem and took the appearance of a giant lizard's leg. Then another one came out. Then the giant flaming lizard pulled itself out of the tiny gem and the girl finally stopped screaming, instead breathing heavily as if she just gave birth. The lizard was fire incarnate. Red glowing eyes covered it's charred body and its main eyes, the ones located on its strangely human-shaped face, glowed with such intensity that just looking at them would feel like one was standing on the surface of the sun. The giant flaming lizard, the Salamander, spoke. "If I can't use the body alone to beat you... I will show how hot my true flames can get." In the meantime, the girl who's hair was now blond instead of orange tried crawling away but suddenly stopped as pain overcame her once again. Her hair changed completely now, becoming a mass of hair-like strands of fire. Her previously green eyes also started glowing red and she got up, staring at Haruko and Arthur with an emotionless face. "Now, face my true power! I will show you that you can never extinguish true beauty!" The salamander and the girl spoke in unison. "Oh... Bugger me..."

Haruko was about ready to declare victory against the arsonist as Arthur attacked the gem...but she saw that there was an even larger problem emerging from the woman now. Some sort of demonic lizard with a human-like face, and flames engulfing it's entire body. There was no way she could get close enough to this thing to attack it head-on, so she needed to keep her distance and use her knives instead. "Looks like this is her final form, eh Frosty?" Haruko says jokingly, turning her head towards Arthur.
Turning back toward the lizard, the battle seamstress frowns slightly. "You have better range than I do, so can you take the lizard? I'll say hello to our pyromaniac friend over there." After his response, Haruko dashes to the side and tosses 3 explosive knives at the woman, trying to get her attention away from the lizard so neither of them will have to face both at once. Meanwhile, Kate took Arthur's advice and began to put out the nearby fires, keeping a close eye on the action while doing so.

Arthur shook his head as he got up. "Oh... Bugger me... Uuuuugh..." He almost threw up at the sight of the burning duo.
"Looks like this is her final form, eh Frosty? You have better range than I do, so can you take the lizard? I'll say hello to our pyromaniac friend over there."
"But... But... Salamander! Fire lizard! Sigh, fine..." Knowing that Haruko was right and that he was a better match against the lizard, Arthur resigned himself to his fate. First, he tried to shower the creature in ice shards but they melted before even coming in contact with the beast. Then he tried lobbing a few frostballs at it but the salamander breathed fire and those were completely nullified. Then the creature decided to use its tongue and wrap Arthur up and then swallow him. Arthur dodged and danced around the tongue until eventually... "Enough!" he shouted. He sliced the tongue with an ice sword and the monster retracted it with a shriek of pain. Using this opportunity, Arthur pointed the palm of his hand at the creature. "WOM mode on. Frost Beam!" A magic circle appeared before him. An icy wolf head came out of the circle and as it howled, a large beam of cold came out of its mouth. The very air around the beam froze, creating an ice tunnel around it. It exploded as soon as it came into contact with the salamander, extinguishing all the fire around the lizard and freezing the creature completely. "WOM mode off."
Arthur smirked, content with the result. But then he noticed the beast's burning eyes staring at him through the ice. It was still alive! Trapped, but with how hot it was it was only a matter of time before it got out.
----------------
The arsonist raised her hand toward the knives. They barely got half-way to her and suddenly turned red hot before exploding. Then she raised both arms before herself and a fireball appeared between them. "TERRA..." She started levitating and raised her arms above her head as if she was praising the sun. The normal-sized fireball grew to six times the size of a beach ball. "...FORCE!" She threw the giant fireball at Haruko.

Looking on in horror at the fireball, Haruko infused her feet with ki energy to try and increase her speed and get out of the way, but she wasn't fast enough and became caught up in the fireball's explosion. The flames burned various parts of her back, legs, and back of arms, creating several burn spots that had burned away skin in some cases. Laying on the ground, gritting her teeth from the pain, Haruko slowly begins to stand back up. Without a second thought, she took out a small but colorful pendant out of her shirt, and glared at her opponent. "You think this is fun?! I wanted to avoid using this form, but you left me no choice!" Concentrating on the pendant, Haruko couldn't help but feel a sense of...uneasiness currently. As if somehow she couldn't bring herself to transform into a magical girl. Shaking away these thoughts, she activates the transformation. Exploding into a shower of white and pink light, Haruko's body slowly began to transform into her magical girl self. Her hair grew down to her waist, her body began to grow taller, upbeat music began to radiate out of her transformation... Until suddenly a loud piano note interrupted the music, as if someone had pressed all the keys on a piano at once. What followed was an anomaly for her transformation. Her hair grew nearly twice as long as it should, her skirt became shorter, flaring out into a blood red and black pattern. Her arms grew a set of large sleeves that completely covered her arms, and lastly, her feet grew a set of long, black boots that went up to her knees. The music had also changed, becoming a slow, piano and organ combo that could only be described as ominous. As the light subsided, a completely new figure stood there, holding a single knife in her hands and a menacing look on her face. "My my...am I finally...free?! Oh, this is just grand. Simply...grand." Giving a large, sadistic smile to the fire lizard, the woman opens her mouth and licks her lips, as if she was deciding how she wanted to eat the animal. Licking the top side of her knife, she stared at the pyro. "Aw...did you hurt my pathetic, weaker self? I suppose I should thank you...I needed a pretty little pet to play with!" Drawing 5 more knives out of her sleeves, the new Magical Girl Haruko takes off like a rocket towards the pyromaniac, arms outstretched to try and wildly slice at the woman's front, wanting to draw as much blood from her as possible. It was as if she...enjoyed seeing pain.

Fire girl didn't try to dodge nor did she even react when the knives cut her. Blood as hot as lava started cascading out of the wounds. The grass around the blood instantly cought on fire. Now the arsonist retaliated with an exploding punch, then another and then an exploding roundhouse kick that would launch Opal Song (or whatever this strange form was) fifty feet away.
