A friendly breeze peacefully flies throughout an alluring city as the fading sun begins to descent behind the horizon. The beautiful skylines could be seen by the human eye from dozen of miles away. Busy traffic highlights the ground of the city along with the masses of people walking on the sidewalks. Among the tallest building in this dazzling megalopolitan, at the highest floor of this towering construction, there is an exquisite penthouse suite. One full of the most refined and wealthiest places in the world, which only very few people have ever been inside. Of which very few could ever hope to afford. The room could be describe as classic rich in furniture and design, but it was also full of some the the highest grade of technology, which was years ahead of the capabilities of the tech of some of the most powerful governments of the public world.
In this luxurious room, a man is dressing himself in clothes that could never hope to express his true worth in financial terms, yet they do represent his older fashion interest in clothing. As he finishes pulling his coat over his head, a buzzing sound rings near the front of the room. Someone was ringing the doorbell, but it wasn't a simple doorbell. The doorbell was added with a special fingerprint scanner, which alerts the owner of the room of who was behind the door. Marvel Smith smiles as he mental commands the door to open and allow his secretary to enter. The somewhat short middle age man with a reciting hairline with grey streaks paces very slowly into the room. "SMITH! You need to rethink this!" The man walks without hesitating to yell at his boss for his most recent mistake of not informing him of his most recent event. "You were schedule to handle the pitch to our business partners in Japan today. BuT NOoooo! INstead You are Trying To attend a PARTY!"

Marvel Smith adjusts his tie as he speaks, "Now Now Jones. No need to get upset over the little things like this." Jones face turns red as he says, "LITTEL THING?! This deal is worth BILLIONS OF DOLLARS!!!" Smith walks over to grab a device from his shelf and replies as he picks up the device, "Like I said... no need to stress about the small things in life. As Terri Guillemets said before, Give your stress wings and let it fly away." he finishes with a slight smile on his face. Yet, Jones' stress doesn't fly away and instead he continue to persist Smith that his presence is a must for the guarantee success of the meeting. By the time the man finishes with his preparations for his evening, he finally has enough and stops his secretary in mid sentence, "Jones... you know this is important to me." Sighing to himself, Jones begins to speak in a softer tone, "I'm just worried for you sir."
Placing his hand on Mr. Jones' shoulder, Marvel looks at him and says, "Thank you for the concern, but its about time I face my family... *Looking down with his eyes for a quick second and quickly back up again he continues* "...To face my father." Jones gives his friend a hug and wishes him luck. "Thank you again. Anyway, its about time that I pick up my date." As Smith was about to press the button on the device he picked up before the short man gives him another look of support before Smith disappears and finds himself in Canada. Smith takes one step forward and rings the doorbell of another famous magic crafter/inventor, who he has respected since he first laid eyes on her work.
There was some noise behind the pale blue door as somebody skipped down the stairs. A moment later, the door flew open and a beaming and tall albino woman stood before Smith, white hair looking still a touch damp and stunningly blue eyes brimming with excitement like they did at all hours. The incandescent dress she wore was clearly enchanted, changing translucency to hint at her legs but never showing too much. She held a large shield with a huge blade on one end. Closer inspection revealed it to be a metal cello. There was no bow to it in sight.

"Hey Smith. Wow, you look good in glasses. I was just practicing this. I guess you don't want me to bring a weapon? Even though it's an instrument too. It's awesome, isn't it? Am I chattering?" As usual, she was running full steam. Ellen Cain was likely the only engineer in the world who not only didn't need coffee but was forbidden from it.
Smith doesn't even notice Ellen's dress for a split second, due to the fact that his eyes were scanning her weapons with the upmost interest. Only a few people are skilled enough to make a weapon this incredible he thought. "Don't worry your fine and yes, that is truly a beautiful piece. Yet, sadly I doubt you can bring it with you to the party. But even if you did, I'm sure people will rather pay attention to you." Smith said in a more matter-of-fact kinda way as oppose to flattery, yet the compliment was clearly given.
"As for the glasses..." *He starts to say as he takes them off* "... this is another invention of mine. Nothing crazy, just an emotion reader." he said calmly as he puts them back on. Smith normally could read people just fine, but his father was a master of disguising his feelings among proper company at times. So, with his curiosity getting the better of him, he wanted to make sure to know how his father would feel when their eyes meet each other after not seeing each other for a few years since he was disowned.
"So how is your other experiment as a teacher going for you? he asks. Smith knew that she was already gifted when it comes to being a crafter, but from what Iris have told him, she was also a pretty great teacher. Well Gateway Academy always wants the best of the best professors, so Smith wasn't surprise by how good Ellen was at her job. Still, her success as an educator is a result of not only her knowledge and ability, but it also had to do with her rather incredible personality.
"Oh, the job is fantastic. It's one thing to make a self-cleaning sword. It's something else entirely to teach a whole class to make them." Ellen set her shield down carefully in a case by the door. "Of course, what I really love is making weapons for the students. It's amazing to match something perfectly with a person, balancing it just for them after hours of perfection. I bet you know what I'm talking about."
"There is perhaps no better moment, then seeing a perfect match between a tool and a person when you hand them your creation and seeing the sparks between them shine." Smith said. "Truth be told, I'm also working on another interesting idea, which I hope to show it to you one day in person. I would very much want to get your professional opinion on it." he finish with a gentlemen's smile. Smith's internal mental clock begins to ring, and he quickly looks at his watch. "Seems like we need to get to the party right about now." Smith reaches into his pocket and reveals an invitation scroll, which is inscribe with a spell to allow teleportation straight to the party. "Would you care to do the honors?" he asks.

Ellen smiled at Smith. "I knew you knew that feeling. And you know I always love seeing your stuff. I'd like a look at that at the first possible moment. Oh, of course. Allow me." With a last minute examination of her looks, she took the scroll in one hand, Marvel's own hand in the other. She read the spell on it with a minute southern drawl and they were off.
For a quick moment, there was no light to be found. Everything was pitch dark and soundless as well, yet this nothingness only lasted a few seconds, when suddenly a small faint green light appears in the distance making a faint noise. So tiny and so so very far away, that the noise was not fully comprehensible and that one would have not notice the light had it not been for the fact that everything around them was colorless. They approach this light slowly, and once they got there, they say the light for what it truly is. Is was none other than a fairy.

The sound that they hear before was in fact the little creature's wings coming together in perfect harmony. The small fantasy creature studies both of them and asks in a cute, yet somewhat powerful voice, "Invitations please?" The fairy may not appear to dangerous by appearances, but it was in fact a pretty powerful teleporter, which was given the task of preventing anyone from entering the grounds of the Smith's estate without going pass her first. It was her job to either give them clear passage, or teleport unwanted guest to a very very unpleasant location.
Ellen waved the invitation at the fairy. She knew nothing about its purpose here, but it appeared to her to be some sort of border guard. "Ellen Cain and Marvel Smith." She informed it, just in case it wanted names to compare with a guest list.
The fairy looks at the invitation first and then at Smith, "You do know that I have been ordered by your father to sent you back if you come here." Smith responds without a hint of worry as he asks, "Didn't you receive orders to let anyone invited enter?" The small creature becomes confuse as it was trying to figure out an answer between two commands it had receive by the Smith family, "Well yes... but...-" "-Then don't worry about it." said Smith as he cuts her off from reaching an unfavorable conclusion for him. Eventually the fairy gives up, "Fine. I suppose you guys can enter." A door of light appears next to them, "Enjoy your evening." she said as she disappears into the darkness.
Ellen smiled. "Oh, we weren't invited, were we? Ah, crashed parties are more fun anyway. Or at least, I get told that I had more fun at them afterwards." She happily drug Smith through the open portal.

And like that, Smith and Ellen went through the portal together and found themselves standing in a place that was completely different from the one they just come from. In front of them was a beautiful castle like mansion which expands almost as far as the ye can see from with direction for them. The golden like wooden doors stood so tall, that a large house could enter through one side of the door. Smith like around and studying very familiar aspects of the place where he used to spend his summers. He didn't become emotional or anything, but he did thinks to himself, "Its been a while since I last saw..." *Whatever it was that he was saw* These nostalgic thoughts continue to flow through his mind, but it was not like he never forgot any of the specific details, after all, he does have a perfect memory.
Still, to see it again with his actual eyes, and not through mental images by his memories added a new layer for Smith. He looks at the woman next to him and says, "Welcome to my Family's estate, Ellen. I hope it was everything you imagine it would be." he finished with a kind smile. Smith wanted Ellen to have a good time here, but in the back of his mind, he was worried that she would be hassle for not coming from a prestigious magic family by the visitors and from his own family, especially by his own father. Yet, Smith imagine it was more of himself, who would be the center of his father's disapproval rather than his friend, but still he wanted Ellen to enjoy herself.
Ellen was slightly taken aback by the sheer size of the place. She had grown up in a tiny hick town in Texas. This was bigger than that whole town. "This... wow, it's bigger than Gateway." She mumbled to herself, uncharacteristically speechless for a second. But only a second. "Come on, let's go! Your place is awesome! Your parent's place I mean! Let's get in there!"
Smith offer his arm to her in a gentlemen's fashion, "Very well. Let's go see the inside." As he walks with Ellen, they enter the front door and look inside the first room of the mansion, and inside hundreds to maybe thousands of people dress in clothes so expensive, that Smith imagines one outfit alone could be sold to feed the entire world a decent meal. He hears conversations around him about people talking about themselves things that include both the real world and the hidden world. It had a wide variety of certain topics, but usually what he would hear above all use, was people just talking about themselves in a smug way.
As they make there way down further, a couple came up to them; a short, fat, and greedy looking man with a beautiful woman around his arm, who was likely 50 years younger than him. The man laughs an annoying loud fashion as he tries to talk to the them. By his mannerism, one could tell he was already drunk, poor old man couldn't hold his liquor too well it would seem. No one could barely understand him with his random comments and noises, but Smith continues to hold a proper conversation with the fellow as best as he could. At some point, the old man goes up to Smith and starts talking about how much he had to spend to get his date. He laughs again at his own dumb jokes and he proceeds to go to Ellen to ask her the same thing, expect he tries to grab at her behind when he tries to distract her attention with a few clumsy words.
At this point, Smith reacts against the man's deviant actions as he quickly grabs the elderly man's hand and asks him kindly to leave them be. Smith knew that Ellen was more than capable of taking care of the old man, yet Smith was someone who couldn't just stand by and ignore an obvious wrong happening right in front of his eyes, regardless if he know the person didn't need his help. He was someone who would do what was right in this situation and being a bystander to a potential sexual harassment wasn't right in his eyes.
The old pervert retaliates with another foolish laugh of his, which suddenly transforms into a anger grunt as he tires to swing his fist into Smith's face. A simple side step was all Marvel did to dodge the man's slow punch and he falls down from him being left unbalance after putting all his weigh into his srike. The old man gets back up and begins to yell at him about him being in a extremely powerful and important position. That he will use his influence to completely destroy them and the will regret ever crossing him.
Smith chooses to not acknowledge the man's threats and he asks Ellen to just move to another area of the mansion with him. As they walk Smith explains, "Usually guests that stay only in the front section of the mansion are not consider to be that important, so they are a little jealous that they are treated like commoners here. They are usually limited to lesser rooms of the estate, which were created for the solo purpose of containing visitors that are below my father's radar and respect . Because of that, there are a few upset people, who are so use to being always treated like royalty where they are from, that they end up acting envious and will try to create a scene just so that they receive some attention due to them when being treated like nothing special here."
Smith looks forward as he thinks to himself, Besides father wanting to avoid people below his attention, the other reason that there are guests in limited sections is due to the cruel enjoyment that the more privilege guests have when they know there are people that are socially establish to be clearly shown to be lower than themselves. Even among the top of the world, some people are not satisfy with sharing the same room as someone that they perceive to be lesser than them it would seem.
Ellen grew bored quickly as Smith chatted with the old man, choosing to look at her surroundings instead. Every vase and painting in the room looked more expensive than her entire house, and it was a huge room. Her senses went back on alert when the old man reached his arm around to her backside, but before she could handle him herself, Smith had grabbed him. A clumsy punch later, Smith was dragging her to another room.
"Hold on with the explaining. Thanks for stopping the guy back there, but in the future, I can handle myself. Kay? Good. Now as for why he did that, that doesn't excuse being slimy. He had his paid squeeze right there next to him." Her normally light and airy tones became a bit grouchier and she frowned, but swiftly she was all smiles again. "Now, I heard there was a party around here. What do you think that's like?" She looped her arm through his again and drag him onwards to find the party's core.
Smith's mind went set to ease when Ellen's light hearted mood returns a smile to his face. "I imagine that Its quite lively." he responded in another matter-of-fact tone. Together they walk into a gigantic and elegant ballroom that seem to be full of magical beauty. Everything abut the room seem to scream that more was better. The entire atmosphere of the room would surely be an overwhelming experience to most new comers. Even Smith, who has been inside this particular room hundreds of times with a perfect eidetic memory still has to give his eyes a few seconds to take in all the graceful and creative appeal that engraves every inch of the room to heavenly status.
This area of the estate was full of important magic dynasties from around the world and even from some dimensions outside the regular earth as well. The guests here all wore outfits that seem to be beyond fault and reach close to perfection as possible. Even the greatest fashion minds of regular humans could not even hope to imagine the attires that was being worn today. The skill require to create some of these breath taking formal wear also needed certain magical techniques and qualities of cloth that are well out of reach of the overall majority.
Everyone in the room for the most part could have easily earn a job as a super model as well, yet even then there was some people in the room that decide to dress in more modern means and didn't spend an insane amount of resources for their appearance this evening. Others posse faces that shine with a dark glow with eyes that seem to say, Cross me and I will crush you.
Smith as a child was at first intimated by this particular crowd, but he has since grown to be accustom to the whole event and the people involve. Yet, he silently hopes that Ellen and the rest of his invited friends didn't get nervous from being here. After all, this was a different environment that would be unique to even professionals of the Hidden World. The concern here was not some monster or a threat that would endanger their lives, but rather the awkward feeling of trying to deal with this type of location and group of individuals.

Perhaps one of the most shocking parts of the whole affair was that there was also the fact that the room contains a few hundred well armor soldiers, who are equip with some pretty impressive magical gear. The troops inside the ballroom didn't carrier any visible weapon, but Smith knew that have weapons at the ready. Another fascinating aspect of the entire room was the fact that for every single guest, there was at least five servants at hand to assist them with anything they could possible need. Some guest even have as many as a few dozen servants available to them.
Still, once Ellen and the other talk to these people they will find that the majority of the folks here can show off as much as they want, yet they can never really hide their distasteful natures. Smith looks around and notices that his father and none of his family members were in the room. They are probably upstairs getting ready to make their big entrance later, he thought. Looking back at Ellen, he asks, "So was it everything you picture it being?"

Meanwhile somewhere else in the Smith family Estate... a small number of individuals, who each wear a clock that covers both their faces and bodies, are waiting together in one of the smaller guest rooms on the first floor. No one besides them knew that they are inside the estate at all, which includes even the various guardians that protect the mansion. As the small group sit around each other in a sort of oddly shape circle, the largest fellow among the small group was growing rather impatient. The giant individual begins to heavy tap on the floor over and over again.
After a while someone finally says, "WILL YOU STOP THAT!" Complained the closest person to the largest person in the room. "Everyone here is waiting just as long as you, but you don't see anyone of us here acting like a stupid ass CHILD!" The big guy quickly appears in front of the person closest to him faster than a regular person would have been able to follow. "If you are going to call me a child, how about you try treating me like a child. Come on, I dare you to try it you little bitch." said the massive man in a deep tone of voice.
The man slowly stands up to his feet, while saying in a cocky voice, "I suppose someone should smack you around a bit when you misbehavior.-" By the time the person was fully upright, his head was a few inches away from the larger individual's stomach area. "-And I've been inching to discipline you since I first saw your ugly face." The big man prepares to uppercut the person's head off in front of him, while the other guys throws a small enchanted dagger at the large fellow's throat. Yet, each men easily avoid the other's first strike.
Both men begin to commit to a counter strike, with the larger guy pulling out his fierce axe and the smaller man pulling out a short curve blade. As they are about to clash techniques with one another, the weapons are suddenly stop by their leader. Without needing to say a word both men simply mumble a few words and withdraw their weapons. Each creating as much distance as possible from the other in the room.
"Now that you two are finish with that unnecessary business, we can go back to going over the plan." said another member near the back of the room. The man with the curve blade just replies, "We have been over the plan for days now. The only one here who can't remember is the axe wielding simpleton over there." "How about I rip that brain of yours out your ass." responded the big guy. Before they could go at it again, the leader of the group lifts one hand and it begins to glow with an incredible magical power.
"Next person who speaks without permission will be turn to ashes." the leader states calmly. A moment of silence fills the room before the leader continues to speak, "Let's continue," the leader gestures towards the individual in the back. "As you two fools already know, I have already bypass the Smith Family's security system and I'm currently tying to readjust the systems in place to out benefit. However, until I have finish preparations, lets try to stay hidden until then. Okay. We still need to wait until the main household shows up anyway."
The huge individual was about to make a comment about being called a fool, but one look from his leader and he was able to keep his mouth shut. Then the leader begins to talk again, "As you all know, there is a rather incredible amount of wealth to be made here, but lets not forget the real reward to be earn if we pull this off. If we are successful here, we are going to not only shake the magic families of this world tonight, we are going to be one step closer to completely annihilating them."
