Cherry rolled her eyes. "Alright, he was there." She turned to a nearby man and curtsied. "Hello, sir. Have you seen a bald man in pink and a blonde woman in a green or blue dress?" Why look when somebody else could handle it? A princess didn't stoop to such menial things.
___
Swallower was struck by empathy for this knight without a home. And maybe a revelation? "Perhaps you should. And even I. It sounds like many more people would miss you in this realm than in that. As for me... my existence in my true home was of pleasure and great joy, but I found it devoid of that upon my brief return. I found myself not welcomed but scorned by all. But even here..." Nobody would miss him here either. The filthy worm he had inhabited despised him as much as he loathed it. The scoundrel woman was no better. The armored swordsman barely knew of him past the worm's friendship. "I will find a being who will desire my continued presence in this plane." He declared, gesturing dramatically.
___
Ellen's eyes opened in panic for a second. The moment the thoughts stopped, she grabbed Smith by the shoulders. "Don't do that!" She gasped. "It's cool, alright? But only in emergencies, okay? I mean, don't just, you know?" She took a deep, shuddering breath and put it away. Eyes wide and blank, she walked, bumping into him. "Huh? Oh, uh... dinner place now?"
___
Melea coughed. "I will reshape the planet into a perfect one. Criminals shall be properly reformed. Wars will end when I unite the world. And disease will be eradicated by any means. The goals are simple. Same as any other dreamer."

"Don't worry about your grudges, Roshi-san. We're all humans here, grudges are natural. I'm sure you have your reasons. Besides, the guys I'm thinking of calling aren't really from Earth, so technically you wouldn't be working with Westerners." Arthur grinned, although his grin started fading when Roshi went into hush-hush mode.
He too began whispering, in fluent Japanese to add that extra encryption for any prying ears. "I don't know anything about containment devices, but I think I know who the 'they' you're talking about are. I haven't had any personal run-ins with them but I have heard talk about strange conceptual beings." There was some talk about the Gainen on a couple of HW forums Arthur sponsors although no one had a lot of information on them. While he knew for a fact some members of the most well known HW organisations were part of at least one forum, either they lacked information themselves or they had to keep it especially secret. Considering he was now whispering about them with one of the most powerful men in the Japanese Hidden World, the latter was far more likely. "While I can't call anyone to help you out with them, if I run into any, I'll make sure to kick some ass. And if you start getting overwhelmed, just call me over and I'll give you a hand. I might even get some friends to help me."
-------------
"Does... Does that mean I feel older then I really am? Or do I feel younger then I am?" Or did the cards know that this wasn't her normal body? Her fingers started tapping the table practically on their own. Her shape changes were supposed to be like her illusions. Perfect to a T. Stupid magic not-tarot cards... "So what's next, my past?"

-I do not know Mes Theo, but I can empathize with your plight. - The Beast Knight spoke in an equally and totally honest dramatic tone. –Is my desire that you find what you aspire to get, since everybody in this world or any other should have comrades to count and rely on.- Callis had a gentle smile on his face. –If anything I’m evidence that no matter the distance to one’s home land you can find trustworthy comrades who care for you and protect you. - The Knight could feel something off-putting from Swallower’s, his instincts were flaring up, but he ignored them putting, as always, his human side in the main stage. Callis placed his hand on Theo’s shoulder. –I assure you that soon you might fight comrades in arms like I did, here time is your only enemy.-
-I thank you youngster, but we are only cutting close, not completely void of hope. - Roshi assured Arthur with confidence. –The main problem with this problem is the unpredictability of the attacks and the skills these creatures posses.- The JHWAB Leader spoke from experience as in the 70’s he helped many times dealing with the Gainen, something he hoped never to repeat in his whole life. –They don’t think as humans or oddities… They are created by us but only have a single goal in mind, the eradication of life through their own means, to make more people afraid of their skills and powers. Thus making them think about them and making them stronger, they feed on our fear... they feast on it.- Roshi’s grave tone of voice only added to the danger he tried to convey.
-I thank you once again for your bravery, but unless you are fighting one of those abominations with the help of half a dozen Denizens I think the best course of action if you encounter one of them…- The Omnyo Master’s voice went lower into an almost inaudible whisper, around it seemed if the lights were getting dimmer as he uttered. –You should run.-

The man looks at Cherry and bows his head respectfully, before he gently shakes his head. He gives the child a quick glance and points to you of the guards with his chin as he says, “You are probably better off asking one of those guards to assist you, Miss.” He then turns to the boy and says, “You should give the officer your invitation letter. They can use that to track down your parents.” The boy looks down at his legs as if he was searching for a proper excuse. Before long the man understands, yet he needed to quickly rejoin his spouse before she gets lost in the massive crowd. “Excuse me, I must be going now.” The gentlemen leaves swiftly as he maneuvers through the mass of people and strange looking creatures.

Smith’s expression doesn’t change at all upon Ellen’s sudden behavioral transition. He calmly states, “Of course it shall only be used in emergencies.” he said in a straightforward manner for the purpose of confirming with her, that they will only use the device during only proper and necessary moments. Yet, he figures that sort of thing is implied when he demonstrated the MCD as device for telepathic communication. However, the device van not be used to read other people’s mind. It can be used to project your thoughts outwards in a unique code, which can be received and decoded by others who holds another MCD with the same frequency, so that they an understand the thoughts of the sender. A benefit of holding the MCD, even for non communication purposes was that the device automatically transforms the wielder’s brain waves into a special code, making it much harder to read and more importantly, to understand the wielder's thoughts, since their mind is now coated in a special code. If someone was to read his mind, it would be like a person who only understands and speaks English listening to someone speaking another language. Sure they will be able to hear what they are saying, but they will have no idea behind the meaning of the words their saying.
At the mention of dinner, Smith looks ahead to spot a giant set of wooden doors with gold handles. A servant stands at each side of the doors with their hand on the handles along with 10 guards standing in a row perpendicular to the servants. He looks upwards and notices a sign above the door head, which causes him to chuckle to himself as he reads it: The Failure Returns! The Servants look at him without a smile on their faces and their facial expressions are as hard as stone. Rather then being as welcoming as possible, their master seems to issue an order to give the most unfriendly expressions their faces could create for his son. The guards even took off their helmets in order to stare him down with icy cold eyes. None of them even took their eyes of him to glance at Ellen at all. All the eyes are on him, and each one looks at him with utter contempt. Smith figure his father would learn about his presence here soon enough, even this small intimidation posse didn’t surprise him. As he walks closer to the doors, the guards begin to fold inwards, until they create a wall between them and the doors.

Mr. Stone notices the finger tapping, yet continues on with the reading. “Truthfully, I don’t try to understand the meaning behind the images. These cards and what they are showing are not for my eyes, but for yours.” He doesn’t actually see what she can see on the card’s surface. In fact, the surface of the cards appear completely blank to him and that there is no image at all for him to look at. "Well, let’s move onto the next card.” He removes the card on the top of his deck, the back of the card reveals the letter R, and flips it over next to the last card. The image is of a kind and youthful looking woman wearing beautiful blue robes as she cuddles a baby in her arms, with the background for the image being a beautiful and bright heart on fire. The card even produces a gentle and inviting heat for Love, yet Mr. Stone did not feel anything from the card at all.

“I see.” said Madam Elizabeth with a smile. “That is quite the ambitious dream you have inside that cute head of yours. Perhaps one day your dream will come true, yet I wonder how much sacrifice and pain you will have to endure and produce in order to achieve that kinda goal.” -Yet again, if you are not careful here, you might not even be alive to see what tomorrow brings.-

The forbidden couple continue to share passionate kisses with each other among a few grasping hand gestures. They finally manage to move all the way down the corridor , which is considerably far away from the party and other guests. “Here, lets try this room.” suggests the woman after removing her lips from her husband’s friend before she quickly continues to swirl her tongue against his. They share a few giggles as they open the door. In their minds, they picture the time they were going to spend with each other and look forward to what awaits them beyond the door. They wrestle each other playfully and soon reach the bed. Yet before they could begin to remove their articles of clothing, they hear footsteps coming from the hallway. They quickly remove themselves from the bed and fix their appearances a bit. Just as they expect a person to appear in front of the door, the sound of the footsteps vanish.
They look at each other in relieve and begin to share a few more kisses with each other. The guy separates from her and says softly, “I love you, Ashley.” Ashley smiles and looks upwards to repeat the words to him, but rather than say a single word, she instead takes a step backwards in fear. Standing behind her lover is a gigantic man covered in a massive cloak. In response to her frightful reaction, Ashley’s lover tries to turn around to see what was behind him. His worse fear was that it was Ashley’s husband standing behind him, yet he never got to learn the answer in this life. Before he could turn his head a quarter of the way around, the large man’s places his monstrous size right hand on top of his head and as easy as opening a water bottle, the cloak giant twists the man’s head, and breaks his neck. The woman prepares to scream at the top of her lungs for help, yet before a single note could escape from her throat, the large man pushes her face to the side with his finger tips, which create enough force to cause her head to do a 180.
After the bodies hit the floor, another figure appears in the room. The person would be consider pretty tall among average people, yet compare to the large man in the room, this person appears considerably short even at 7 feet tall. “Will this be enough?” The giant looks at the ground and picks up the male. Within moments, the brute begins to eat the corpse with massive bites. The sound of chewing meat and breaking bones fill the room. Between his bites, he answers with a mumbling, “For now.” The person sighs and continues to speak, “You know, your blood magic only requires that you consume their blood.” The man ignores the comment as he is too busy enjoying his meal to pay attention. “Whatever, suit yourself, you disgusting beast.”

Melea steamed, her lips twitching as she tried to hold her smile. "I can handle pain. The worst is behind me for certain." Her only worry now was living to complete it with the state her body was in. She wasn't old, but she was hurt.
___
"Thank you sir." She happily drug the kid to a resplendent guardian. "Have you seen a bald man in pink or a woman in a blue or green dress?" She gave the guard a look of authority. Sherry clacked and tugged on her hand, trying to get away and pick up a dropped coin. Cherry tugged her back and tightened her grip on the bony hand. Sherry growled and mewled pathetically, falling to a bored sit like any young child brought to an adult party.
___
Swallower nodded. "Time is a thing I have in abundance. And while I do not seek out conflict, it has an exceptional talent for discovering people in this world. Perhaps I will fight with you one day." He returned the favor of the shoulder clasp. "Although not here certainly. What purpose do you have in this place?"
___
Ellen nodded. "Thanks. Great. Just tell me before you poke my brain. That's got private stuff." Her jittery appearance only got worse as they continued towards the doors. The guards blocking it got her glancing all over, now not in excitement but an increasing nervousness. She scooted away from Marvel a bit to avoid the glares directed at him. She really wished she was allowed to take a weapon. Even holding some steel would make her feel better.

"I'll keep that in mind, Roshi-san." Arthur looked over at Loveline and Stone. "You should come sit down with us and wait for Callis. Or we can say goodbye while you look around the mansion some more." --------- Loveline could not figure out the meaning of this card. Does it mean she wants to be a mother? But she's waaaaay too young for that! But the card seemed very inviting. Warm. Whatever it meant, she probably wanted it real bad, even if she herself didn't know what it is. "Okay, I apparently want to be a mom. What's next?"

Callis didn’t like the sound of that, he didn’t want to fight, as he disliked any kind of conflict, no matter if it was sooner or later. Still he managed to keep his composure and nodded at Swallower’s prediction, eerily thinking that he might be right as much as the Beast Knight didn’t want that. –I came here as the bodyguard of important Japanese dignitary.- He looked around worried. –I think is time for me to return to my duties, I just came here to take a breath of fresh air, I am not accustomed to such crowds… at least not for a long time.- Callis spoke with a dash of sadness as he walked back to the ballroom. –I hope you can find comrades Mes Theo… and I hope we never fight against each other… I wouldn’t mind fighting alongside you.- And with that he left the gardens.
-I will join with you in a proper table, these stools aren’t thought for a man my age.- Roshi talked in a much less serious tone, clearly trying to diffuse the heavy atmosphere of his fearful words about the incidents back on his homeland. –Aging is a wonderful thing, you get wiser and smarter but your body doesn’t want to follow the lead of your brain… - He said this with a half smile as he stood up. –Lead the way Cromwell-kun, I can see Nomene-san coming back from the gardens and he will surely join us.-

Madame Elizabeth studies Melea for a moment before saying, “Apologies for being so blunt…“ she said in a very straightforward manner, ”..but I think now is a good time to ask this.” As she raises her head, her ridiculous size hat casts a shadow, which hides her face in complete darkness, yet the shadow of her hat should not have been capable of making such a pitch black shadow. For a moment, the madame’s eyes appear to have turn blood red. Yet, soon enough her eyes return to normal and the shadow of the hat retreats. “How did you end up in your current state? And, would you be interested in a way to compensate for your…injury.”

The guard’s face is hidden behind his armor helmet, but his eyebrows shift upwards in response to the authority Cherry displays towards him. He places his hand to his helmet and begins to communicate to the estate’s security office, meanwhile he response to her, “Honor guest, please forgive my inability to be able to know which lady you seek among those wearing blue or green this evening, there is simply too many people that fit that vague description. As for the gentlemen, I have not seen anyone that matches the person you just described. But may I see your invitations? If you, or the boy, are related to anyone here, the invitation will help us identify those individuals. Then we can send a fairy to them, and we can sort out this issue right away.” It is typical for people to get lost, and lose others in this massive estate during a party, so the guard assume that this was another one of those cases, where the parents lost their child inside the massive crowd.
As for the dropped coin that Sherry notice, the owner quickly turns around, notices the item, and reaches down to retrieve it with a hint of fear behind his behavior, as if that coin is a matter of life and death for the young adult. The coin is clearly gold and contains initials, yet Sherry is too far away to read them. Once the coin is inside his pocket, he looks up and makes eye contact with Sherry. The man is dressed in a typical suit, his eyes are blue, and his hair is blond as the sun. His face would have been perfectly handsome if it was not for the horizontal scar under his left eye. He quickly curses under his breath and proceeds to move to the opposite side of the room. Before long, Sherry would lose sight of him in the crowd.

Smith walks forward without even a bit of anxiety and offers a polite smile, while he takes out his invitation letter. He holds his out for the guard in the middle with the different suit of armor from the rest of the guards, clearly a sign of his superior status. The man roughly takes the letter out of his hand and reads it to himself. Between each sentence, he would look up to give Smith malice glances, yet the son of his master did not blink or look away. Eventually the officer looks to the others, and they all nod their heads in unison. The officer takes the letter and prepares to rip it in half. Should he have rip the letter in half, it would have signal his fellow guards to summon their arms and prepare to arrest the disowned son and his companion. Yet, before he could, a female voice asks from the side, “What do you think you are doing?” The officer stops just as he tears the very top of the paper. He looks to the side and quickly goes down on his knee, which the other guards repeat the same action as well.

The woman walks forward with a sword already out. Once she reaches them, she puts her hand out. “My lady-“ begins the officer before being cut off, “-Give it here.” commands the woman. The officer face clearly expresses a self conflict, as he is debating between which order to follow. “Now!” And with that simple word, the self debate is over. The officer hands the invitation carefully. His face shows his fear, knowing that he will be punish for this later. “All of you get out.” The guards stood up and quickly exit the scene. The woman continues to stare down the guards until they disappear from sight. Afterwards, she offers the paper back to Smith. She gives Ellen a quick look, then she quickly vanishes in a quick bright light. As the light disappears, so does the sign above the door as well as Smith's smile.

“Mom huh.” says Stone, but more to himself then to Love. “Anyway, here is the next card.” Grabbing the card with the letter D on the back, he flips it over. Again, to him the card appears blank, yet to love, the card appears to be a skyscraper inside hell with the number 77 appearing at the bottom of the card. Where the last card produce warmth, this one instead spread a sense of despair. Inside the windows, are various detailed characters going through some intense ordeals. In one window, an imagine of a different Love appears with an ice sword piercing him from none other than Arthur. This time, Stone did not bother to ask her what she sees. From personal experience, the third card is the one people never want to discuss with him. All he asks is, “Do you want to continue?”

Melea scowled for an instant before her face returned to its fake smile. "Injury? That's implying it's one thing. What you see has been the result of a lifetime. There can be no compensation but to make sure it never happens again."
___
Cherry was glad to finally find somebody useful. "Kid, show him your pass. I'm not with him, so that will have to do." Sherry had lost interest in the coin long before it was picked up and was now just picking at the carpet. She clacked a children's tune to herself, clearly bored out of her tiny skull.
___
Swallower watched Callis leave with one eye, moving his gaze over several statues. Fascinating. These were this world's gods? He wondered if he could get in contact with them. They would understand him better than most.
___
Ellen was just baffled at this point. "Are... are we allowed in now?"

Loveline was shaken by the contents of the card. She picked it up and examined it closely. She opened her mouth to answer Mr. Stone, still not even sure what to say. Luckily she didn't even have to think of anything.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything important." Arthur came back, Roshi in tow.
"Oh, you're back. No, nothing important." Love said, sliding the card back to Bryan.
"Okay then. Love, Mr. Stone, this is Roshi Yasumori. He'll be joining us tonight. We should move somewhere with a bit more room. I suggest that table over there."
"Um, sure, let's move. Nice to meet you, Mr. Yasumori." Loveline got up from her stool and extended her hand.

-Nice to meet you to dear.- Roshi bowed and then gave a stealthy look to the tables with longing on his eyes, just as Callis was arriving. The Beast Knight had a grim expression on his face, he felt something was wrong but he couldn’t quite place it… another of his gut feelings acting up. The Beast Knight bowed to them very respectfully with a serious face that slowly softened. –Thank you Mes Cromwell for accompanying Mes Yasumori, I owe you one.- The Errant Knight spoke from his heart with pure honesty. Roshi smiled, at least Callis expression was less harsh than before now that he found a friend. The demeanor of the Beast Knight was a bit puzzling to the JHWAB’s leader as he couldn’t believe that the gentle and pacific Callis managed to fight toe to toe with a criminal such as Ikari Fukushi, renowned for his ferocity.

A sly smile appears on Madame Elizabeth's face, though the reason for the smile could have been a number of things. Is it due to Melea's losing her composure, her response, or what is happening outside of this room? The truth, it is all that is mention which pleases her. Looking at this beautiful woman before her, she could see something that basically everyone in this room lacks. The large looking woman eyes seem to scan the room once again with incredible patience, yet a face of disgust is slowly reveal. She has long ago grown tired of these people. They no longer entertain, and their purposes have long been over. Even after all these years, they still act like babies in need of their mother's milk to survive. In her eyes, they are true failures. Dreamers, never Doers. Pretenders, Weaklings, Spineless Cowards, Parasites, and the list can go on and on. They consider themselves elite, but their actual worth is beneath the insects in the ground as far as she is concern. As for the woman across from her, she sees some potential. "Then do well to prevent it from happening again. If you wish for assistance, then ask what is it that you need; however, do not seek anything from me until paper and pen are involved."
__________________________________________________
The kid keeps his head down and refuses to look at Cherry. His small hands sweat like crazy, and even a few tears appear in his eyes. His feet move back and forth in an irregular pattern, but it is clear that something troubles the young lad. The guard sighs to himself as he figures out the issue as soon as the child did not hand over his invitation. "Miss, its most likely that his parents hold his invitation, or in a much more serious offense, this boy lost it. In either case, I will have you wait with me as a precaution, while I alert the entire guard to search for the boy's father." He figure not too many men could be wearing a pink suit, lack hair, and hopefully be accompany by a woman matching the vague description he was given earlier. Meanwhile, at the comment of his situation, the boy tries his best to hide his face in shame. He wanted to make his parents notice him more, but in a manner that demonstrates his worth and maturity, however he lacks the skill and discipline to accomplish his goals. Along with a caring audience, who will even bother to give him attention.
__________________________________________________
Mr. Stone's face remains blank as he concludes that the last card must of been a shocker to her. Though, before he is able to distribute another card, it seems that his must put his reading on hold as Love prepare to move to an open table towards the corner of the room. The table’s location is ideal to be able to get a good viewpoint of the entire room, but he needs to be close to the body that he is obligated to protect this evening. “Mr. Roshi, its a pleasure to meet you.” he says in a respectful tone. “Arthur, I must sadly decline, as much as I would like to join you guys, i can not forsake my duty to protect the intoxicated imbecile over there. Still, I hope we can meet again in better circumstances. Until then, please enjoy yourselves.” As he stores his cards inside his jacket’s inner pocket, he turns his face towards the group of young adults at the bar.
_________________________________________________________
“Depends on who you ask in the next room.” said Smith with his eyes staring at the door ahead. He takes a moment to calculate his next move. He walks back to Ellen, and offers his arm to her in proper fashion. There is no romantic gesture behind his gesture, rather it is just a formality. “Shall we?” Together, they step forward several paces before the massive doors swing gracefully open. Inside the room is a massive dinning table, which seem to big enough to accommodate a hundred people. The dinning table is cover with tablecloth of gold, with the china being made out of blue diamond, silver, and other rare elements. Behind each chair of the table is at least a single servant, and nearly every chair is currently occupied by someone save for a few spots at the head of the table, and two empty spots at the lower bottom. Which Smith can only assume are his assign seats. Smith studies the head of the table, where he hope to see his mother, even at the cost of making eye contact with his father, however; neither of his parents are anywhere to be seen, along with a few of his siblings.
Only two of Master Smith’s children are seated at the table near the head. Smith’s older brother, the gentlemen that visit the garden in the courtyard a few minutes ago, and his older sister, the one who just saved them from being arrested by the guards. They each sit across from each other with both of their faces calm and unemotional. Not one of them takes a moment to look at their younger brother approaching the table at the bottom. They simply keep to themselves and continue to remain quite. Yet, someone does comment on Smith’s presence. “Cousin, I thought you been properly disown. Well, no matter. Come, sit down next to me. I was curious as to whom these chairs beside me are meant for. Now I realize that they belong to you and your exquisite date. At least in exile you were able to meet a proper lowborn to match your current status.” Smith walks forward and replies, “My dear cousin Thomas, you seem well.” Cousin Thomas is a rather large individual. Though he is only 5’9, he still manages to find a way to weight over 500 pounds. Smiling to himself, Thomas remarks, “Of course. As a member of the Smith Family, I do very well for myself. Though I imagine you must of forgotten what that must feel like.”
“Your right. It has been some time since I relied on the family’s fortune, which my poor cousin, you must lack any comprehensive ability, or experience, to understand such a concept.” As he takes his seat, his cousin response in a somewhat frustrated tone, “I suppose being wealthy in the normal world is a blessing for someone like you. After all, you never did have talent when it comes to the realm of magic.” Smith continues to say, “if one consider a blessing to mean self made, then I am very blessed indeed. However, I suppose that will mean you are not bless at all my dear Cousin.” Thomas grins his teeth together and he speaks in a low tone, “I would be very carefully with what I say here if I was you.” “And I would very carefully with what I eat here if I was you.” retorts Marvel with some partial concern for his cousin’s health. Thomas stands up, after needing some assistance, and prepares to challenge Smith to a duel, yet before he could, a bell rings throughout the room. Quickly diffusing the situation as everyone, including Thomas and Marvel, shift their focus towards the grand staircase in the back. The bell rings signals that someone from the main family has arrived for dinner.

In the apartments section of the first floor, a man finishes his meal without leaving a single trace of it. He stands up and walks outside to the hall, where he spots his fellow companion waiting for him by the door. “Come.” The brute follows with a slight grunt. It hates it when people order him around besides their leader, and the head master. As he walks forward, his stomach begins to growl loudly. “Seriously? How the fuck are you still hungry?” The large man pats his stomach as he explains, “With so many fresh bodies around, my body is craving more blood than usual.” They soon enter another room, where another one of their companions is moving his fingers among a collection of complex spell signs floating all around the center of the room. The tallest one proceeds to lean on the wall, where his body bends the reinforce material around his body. And the other one, the second tallest, simply sits down on a chair near the larger fellow. Once in a comfortable chair, she looks around to spot a few more members of their group, yet notices that two are missing, with one of them being the leader.
“Did the boss decide to leave this up to us?” The person working on the Estate’s security system answers, “No, he is just communicating with the grand master.” Anticipating the next question he continues to say, “As for Ahab, he has already successfully infiltrated the staff. Which you all should start getting into position as well.” "I don't give a fuck about Ahab." said the clock individual, before the person stands up and asks one more question, “Are you done?” “I was able to do everything we need, expect banning the main household’s use of magic via the system. And at this rate, I will not be able to change that.” “No matter.” said a voice from behind the wall. Then phasing through the wall, their leader appears. “There is more than one method to prevent them from using magic.” As soon as his body is completely inside the room, everyone bows respectfully.

Melea didn't need her powers to find Elizabeth's emotions now. That heart of hatred was perfect to her, familiar and safe like nothing else. "I might have to pass on that, unless you explain just how you can make yourself helpful."
___
Cherry stared down at the child and put her hands on his shoulders. "Where's your pass?" If he actually had it and was just glitching out like little kids did, this would be so much easier.
___
Ellen awkwardly hung off Marvel's arm while he had his chat with his cousin, desperately wanting to be anywhere else. She was glad when the bell interrupted the conversation. "So, what's that mean? Hey, that lady who let us in is over there. Who is she anyway? Why did she let us in?"

"Very well. Try not to bore yourself to death, Mr. Stone." Arthur said as they moved to the table. "Anyway, it was my pleasure, Callis. Yasumori-san sure has a sense of humor." The ice mage said, pretending the conversation about the 'them' never happened.
In the meantime, Loveline tried to put the image on the card out of her mind, something made harder by her impeccable memory as well as the very sight of Arthur's face.
"Love, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I just need to go to the toilet." Loveline said and got up.
"Is that all? Did something happen with Mr. Stone?"
"No, we just played a card game and I lost. Badly. Now excuse me for a minute." She left the bar and looked around. This was a large mansion. Surely they had many toilets littered about. But she couldn't spot any right away. The damn architect, why didn't he put a toilet right next to the stupid bar! She started running about as fast as the heels she was wearing (without prior experience) would allow. She must have looked quite foolish to any onlookers who were not to self-absorbed to notice her.

Callis sat down and relaxed as he reviewed his conversation with Theo. He knew something was off with him, but the excitement of finding a fellow dimensional drifter blocked his instincts, now that his head was clear he realized what was the strange smell he could perceive on Theo… it was the scent of blood. But not like a warrior carries it… it was the scent of carnage… the scent of a monster… almost like the Unda, the enigmatic creatures he fought in the northernmost reaches of Centris. But Theo didn’t seem like a magical experiment gone wrong. This was a puzzling feeling… maybe the BHA files would have something about h-
Callis mind stopped racing as he felt Roshi’s hand on his shoulder. –Nomene-san, everything okay? If your frown gets bigger you might pop a blood vessel or something.- The Beast Knight was confused for a second, until he realized that Roshi was right and he was putting a bad face. He took a deep breath and his factions got softer. –That’s more like it… enjoy the party, go meet some women, enjoy your youth, don’t let responsibilities drag you down…- Roshi chuckled. –Or you will end up like a bitter old man that only has regrets and enemies to show for all the years he survived…- Callis managed to crack a sad smile and shook his head. – I would love that, but I am not as young as I look and I cannot forget my duties… sorry, but parties are not my kind of situation... as much as it pains me I belong to the battlefield.-
The JHWAB Leader shook his head in frustration and sighed while shrugging. –Nobody can’t say I didn’t try…- He muttered between teeth as he leaned on his chair, using his hands to support his head.

-Ah, she is reacting well to my emotions,- thought Madame Elizabeth as she notices a slight shift in Melea’s demeanor. The gigantic woman’s facial expression becomes undetectable for a moment as she adjusts her head, allowing the supernatural shadow of her ridiculous hat to once again cover her face. However, her eyes did not change colors like before. A few seconds pass before the shadows rescind like the curtains of a theater, though only slightly as to keep the edges of her head still hidden, yet enough to expose her face. Which has morph to resemble the Queen of Hearts’ own face.. At this very instance, the entire room becomes silent. The side conversations immediately cease, and even the color of the atmosphere and its inhabitants, including inanimate objects, rapidly fades until the furniture and the people are an all encompassing dull gray, with the exception of the man in the white suit. Strangely his outfit didn’t seem to lose any of its vibrance, but even he remains in a stasis like state along with the rest of the individuals and objects in the room. Even the air itself has been made still.
During this time, Melea will find it difficult to breath as if the room has suddenly transform into the vacuum of space. However, she will notice that her reflection doesn’t seem bother at all by the change in the atmosphere. In fact, this creature who calls itself Madame Elizabeth appears to be mirthful. “Forgive me,” she said in Melea’s voice, though she didn’t sound nor look very apologetic. “But I wish to skip the unnecessary back and forth banter. If you do not wish to inform what you desire from my services, than I’ll simply discovery it on my own.” She closes her eyes and begins to mumble to herself. As she searches, the grey aura that has envelope the room continues to become darker and darker. “I see…” said Madame Elizabeth as her eyes open once she figured out what she can offer to this beautifully broken woman. She leans over to a paralysis Queen of Hearts, and gently places her meaty fingers around her slim jaw, and carefully bumps her forehead against Melea’s forehead…
Upon physical contact, a vision of a massive warrior burns into the mind of the ruler of Kuracongo:
When looking at this bizarre humanoid creature, the Queen of Hearts will comprehend that this image is connected to her. Her very desire. She could feel it. The power of this image reflects her own inner strength, and the more she wants, the greater the warrior becomes. It is an indisputable feeling. So raw with clarity that she does not requires words to understand what Madame Elizabeth is offering to her, for she has seen it with her very eyes! A series of images soon begin to display around her. Scenes of her successful conquest of the world, as she leads her armies into countless battles with this apex specimen standing by her side through it all. Fighting fiercely in her name and honor. Performing many great feats of war. Defeating her foes one after the other, until none remain to oppose her rightful rule as the empress of the world.
The last image shows Melee standing in a majestic window of her palace, built in the center of an indescribable utopian city. She could see the crowds of people stretching from the gates of her ivory castle to the horizon and beyond. Finally she could stop being haunted by her past, and didn’t need to be concern with the future. She can simply appreciate her achievements in the present and be content with completing everything she set out to do and so much more. There was nothing left in this world that could challenge her place in history as both her name and deeds will stand the test of time…
Suddenly the world vanishes before her eyes as her vision returns to reality. The room no longer lack color, and everyone returns to their conversations without any indications of having been stopped. Even Madame Elizabeth’s appearance has reverted back to her previous self. “I hope the imagery explained how I can make myself helpful,” she said nonchalantly as she proceeds to pick up a cup of tea.
“Pass?” the kid asked sheepishly. “Ummm…Well, I…I….I….I don’t…I DON’T HAVE IT OK! AND I DON’T KNOW WHERE IT IS!” he yelled at Cherry as he finally manages to lift his head. “Calm down,” said the guard in a kind tone. “If you can’t control yourself, I’m going to have no choice but to teleported you back to the front gate, and I don’t want to have to do that. Please, for your own good, it would be best if you remain quiet for now, and wait here patiently.” As he finishes addressing the child, the communication device inside his helmet activates and connects him to his superior. “Captain Joseph, I have a situation here…” as the commander talks, the child, now less noisy after the small lecture begins to look around as he tries to find something to distract himself during this wait. Immediately, he takes notice of Sherry. Curious about the individual, he asks Cherry, “Who is this?” As he asks his question, he simultaneously begins reaching out with his tiny fingers as he attempts to grab Sherry’s hair.
A red fairy magically teleports in front of Loveline. “I was informed that you wish to go to the restroom. Allow me.” Before giving Loveline a chance to properly respond, the fairy snaps her fingers and teleports her to the bathroom. Yet, it wasn’t a regular bathroom that one would expect from a restaurant, rather Loveline finds herself inside a massive, extravagant private bathroom that could belong to one of the greatest penthouses in the world. "When you're finish, please ask to be relocated to the ballroom, and another familiar will assist you if I happen to be busy attending to other guests. Thank you.” The red fairy disappears in a puff of fresh smoke, which surprisingly left a rather pleasant fragrance.
Appearing in front of Arthur, the red fairy addresses him, “Your companion has been teleported to a private restroom, and she will be teleported by your side, if that is her desire, so do not worry about waiting her for her. Also, if you are wondering, dinner should be ready soon, so I would advise that you return to your table soon.” As she finished, she disappears. This time without a puff of smoke. Arthur will soon notice numerous familiars appearing to other guests telling them the same information.
In about a minute, all the guests of the estate will be told by a familiar to return to the ballroom for dinner will be served soon, which the tables are located around the edges of the ballroom.
A few guards suddenly emerge and begin to line themselves throughout the grand staircase. After each step is occupied by two guards, one one each side, they turn to face the middle, so they the guards are now facing each other. They left their weapon as part of their salute, and stand patently for the arrival of the next family member. While they wait, Smith addresses Ellen’s questions. “It means that someone from my family has arrived. As for the reason why my sister helped us out earlier, I imagine it has something to do with my mother.” A few seconds after the guards assembly on the steps, a beautifully young woman emerges from the top of the staircase. Judging by her appearance, she looks to be a couple of years younger than Smith:
She looks down to see her siblings sitting at the head of the table, and one at the far end. She stares at Marvel for a few moments in disbelieve, leaving her mouth slightly open in shock. Her eyes quickly return to the head of the table as she tries to figure out which one is responsible for his presence here. Yet neither the older brother, nor sister, make any effort to pay attention to their younger sibling. Returning to her previous facial expression, she gracefully walks down the elegant staircase. Meanwhile no one else at the table bothers to continue with their conversations as they wait to see if anyone else is coming down the staircase. By the time she reaches her chair, a servant is waiting to pull her chair for her next to her brother. She proceeds to sit down, without thanking the servant, nor does she bother to acknowledge anyone besides her siblings at the head of the table. Since the rest of the Smith dynasty could not see anyone else approaching, they simple return to their discussions. And once again the room is overwhelm with conversations.
“Rebecca, you aren’t wearing the dress that was picked out for you,” said the younger sibling with a hint of amusement. “I can understand if you wanted to wear something else, but I thought father said to avoid that ugly military uniform. This is a formal party. And you aren’t in Caveria right now.” Rebecca didn’t appear to be please with her little sister’s words, but nevertheless manages to remain calm as she replies, “No matter where I am Haley, I am a soldier, and my uniform reflects that.” Rolling her eyes, Haley prepares to respond rather passive-aggressively, but is interrupted when her brother comments, ”There is no need to take pride in serving a sickly King, and his dying kingdom.” “Wow! You decided to talk!” said the younger sister with fake enthusiasm. “Rebecca-,” he said without being distracted by Haley, “-you best not forget your purpose for being there.”
Examining her brother for a brief moment, she couldn’t help but notice his facial features that resemble their father. “You are starting to sound like the old man,” said Rebecca, wondering how much has her brother changed since she left. Her brother hesitates for a moment at the comparison before continuing, "Just focus on what needs to be done, otherwise you are going to wind up becoming a failure, like our pathetic little brother over there,” he said coldly. “Now, now. No need to start mentioning sheep in this conversation.” said Haley. After that, there is an awkward silence between the siblings at the mention of Marvel, with no one wanting to continue to speak about him.
"Where is our father?" asked Rebecca to Haley. "With mom right now, though he should be here any minute." "Will mother be joining us this evening?" she asked with a bit of optimism. "No. She isn't feeling well tonight." "Has she gotten better since yesterday at least?" "She managed to eat some of her breakfast, but besides that she has been resting in bed." Again, another moment of silence between the siblings. This time, there is an atmosphere of sadness between them.

"Unhand me." Melea hissed before Elizabeth's forehead touched hers, attempting to jerk away but unable to before the vision started. Her struggles ceased when the vision came to her. She saw the humanoid manifestation of her desire like an object in a mirror, a reflection of something in her. She saw creature's features for another moment. They looked like they were carved from her very soul, weakness chipped away. A part of her could never betray her, never fail.
She reached out to grasp it, but the scene changed. The bloodshed brought no feelings to her heart either way. She had seen enough for her lifetime, but as weary as she was of it, it never quite repulsed her. It was the victory that interested her, victory that lead to rebirth.
And it was that rebirth that next unfolded before her. She saw her shining city on a hill, the grand world that should and could be. She bit down screams when it vanished. She knew it still existed in the future. Tears ran from her sole eye as reality came back to her. "So, madam... what is your price? My country does not have much, but I am sure I can offer you something to your tastes. Perhaps a bracelet that causes joy for those who wear it? An especially exotic pet? Or just simple cash?" Melea assumed she had something that this woman wanted, otherwise the offer wouldn't have been made. She just couldn't guess what.
Swallower turned one eye to the red fairy. "Ah yes, I will make myself present momentarily." He had no physical need for food, but passing up on the meal was both rude and a poor choice. He meant to meet people here, and dinner was a good chance for that. He attempted to meld into darkness like he normally would, but found himself unable. Right, the mansion's defenses. He plodded back like an ordinary physical being and found a chair that fit his girth.
Sherry slapped away the hand grabbing at her wig and clacked her jaws. "That's Sherry. She's my sister and a death knight. Don't mess with her hair, she likes it." She had to refrain from slapping the child herself. The wig was made from Sherry's original hair when she was alive. It was irreplaceable. Ugh, if only she could make some zombies! Just send them to find everybody matching that description and she'd have him returned in a few minutes. This was the slow way to do things!
Ellen held in a thousand questions as the Smith family chattered at each other. She only got minor snippets of their chat, but it was enough she was getting uncomfortable flashbacks to her own family. There was less screaming, but clearly this family was no more loving. "Wow, your family has issues huh? Maybe it's for the best you got kicked out. I mean, uh, sorry, that might be touchy. If it makes you feel any better mine isn't very good either."

"Huh, these fairies are pretty convenient. But wait, how did they know I needed to go to the bathroom? And how are the gonna know when I'm done? Don't tell me... That they're gonna be watching me... Uuuuugh." Such thoughts raced through Loveline's head, but she didn't really have much choice in the matter. Not like she could hold it any longer. She could only hope her privacy wouldn't be so violated.
Arthur thanked the fairy for her message. Seeing as other guests also got the message, he figured he might as well go to the ballroom. Finding his seat surely wouldn't be too hard. While he looked for it, he wondered just how many of these fairies were there? Keeping them all working for them without causing any problems must have been challenging, even for a family that clearly had some history. Too much history, perhaps. Feeling his annoyance at rich snob mages rising up again, he had no choice but to try and tune those thoughts out. Good thing he didn't need to think about it anyway since he found his seat.
"Um, Miss fairy? Or missus? Or mister? I'm ready to go back now." Loveline said, having finished drying her hands.

Callis looked around trying to contain his unease, this was too many people in the same place, he was still getting accustomed to living in Kyoto, with people watching his every move each time he needed to go out from his home. The Beast Knight’s appearance, not his animal traits, but his blue eyes and light hair, were the target of everyone’s gaze, as it was rare to see foreigners around Kyoto, they were a bit more common in Osaka or Tokyo. To Callis this only caused feelings of uneasiness and paranoia, but truly, even if he didn’t realize it, he was kind of popular, having many women in the neighbourhood pinning for him. A after splitting a couple of fights among the schoolboys of the area and young gang members, with the same authority he used when he was a City Guard, he also gained the respect of the troublemakers.
The Beast Knight limited himself to drink water and look around for any possible threat to Roshi. The Leader of the JHWAB was indulging in drinking a bit of booze and was extremely relaxed, at least for a couple of hours he didn’t need to carry the weight of the JHWAB on his shoulders. -You should relax Nomene-kun, you only have a single life, you cannot live it in constant fear of being attacked, talking from experience, you should try to relax.- Callis weakly nodded but his demeanor didn’t change. Roshi was really starting to doubt that somebody as shy and as collected as Callis was the one responsible of fighting off Ikari, not to mention causing all the collateral damage in that battlefield. Most of his aides told him that Callis was a superb swordsman, but he’d never seen it himself, so with that in mind he started looking around until he ended up staring at the just arriving Arthur.
-Cromwell-san, sorry if I bother you with a question, but, do you know anybody in this party who is an accomplished swordsman?- The Leader of the JHWAB asked, slowly forging a plan on his mind.

As she sips on her tea, the large woman didn't react to any of Melea's offers. When she finishes, she gently places the teacup down and reaches into a small purple purse next to herself. Her hand searches for no less than two seconds before she pulls out an elegant, neatly folded handkerchief. Madam Elizabeth extends her arm in a fashion that would suggest the gesture is one she is familiar performing. As she hands the Queen of Hearts the hankie, she speaks with no compassion and comments more to herself than to Melea, "Forgive me. I always forget how overwhelming sharing one's desire can be."
She waits patiently for the woman to wipe the tears off her face, all while hiding behind a polite smile. When she finish cleaning herself, Madam Elizabeth replies to her offers, "Judging by your suggestions, I believe you view my interests to belong to that of a person with a materialistic mindset." She chuckles to herself before adding, "You spend too much time dealing with those of mundane wishes my dear. And there is no need to concern yourself about my price, for your country has plenty of what I seek. For I care very little for the physical components of this world-"She stops momentarily before saying, "-But what is trapped inside the material, lies my motivation."
The little kid rubs his slapped hand and looks at sherry with a rather shock expression on his face, as if he couldn't believe she just hit his hand away. He was about to whimper to the guard an exaggerated version, but before he could utter a single word a blue fairy suddenly appears next to the man, catching the boy off guard. The guard whispers a few words to the fairy, and when he finishes the little fellow simple nods its head. It gracefully floats right in front of the child, and without mentioning a word the fairy makes a picture frame hand gesture towards the lad. After a few seconds it quickly disappears. The security guard then walks up to cherry and begins to explain their plan, "We will use the familiars to find this child's parent, but in the meantime, we are going to insist that he remains with you for safety reasons. For now, you should find a table. Dinner will be serve very soon, and we require all guests to be seated." The guard didn't stick around to answer any questions, and leaves the trio to find their own table.
The child looks at cherry with confusion. "So what exactly is a death knight?" he asks while he looks for an opportunity to touch sherry's hair.
The red fairy reappearances and replies to Loveline's confusion, "Miss is fine. But if you wish to call me by name, you may call me Jany." The glowing aura around her body makes it rather difficult to determine her sex, but if Loveline would examine her closely she could she some notable feminine features. "Also, if you have any worries about privacy, fear not. It is enforce by contact that no familiar of the estate is allow in the bathrooms without specific circumstance. Though, while we can not see what you are doing, familiars can hear what you say in here. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to know when you wish to leave." She waited a few sounds before continuing, "I assume you wish to return to the your companion." When she receives the confirmation to be taken back to Arthur, the tiny fairy waves her hand, and immediately they are teleported to the dinning table, which is accompanied by Arthur, Roshi, and Callis.
"If you require any services, please ask for a familiar's attention by clapping your hands together, or you can simply request it through verbal communication. Though I am responsible for this section of the estate, you may also end up with another familiar helping you out if I am preoccupied with another guest, so there is no waiting period between when you can receive assistance. The estate has went through great lengths to enlist many temporary familiars just for tonight, to ensure you are properly taken care of." The fairy was told earlier to mention this detail to guest from time to time, since an event hosted earlier this year by another magical family failed to supply enough familiars to serve as servants, which created an infamous waiting period that ending up upsetting the overall majority of guests. And since the event was hosted by one of Mr. Smith's competitors, he made sure to take tonight's gathering as an opportunity to remind everyone of his rival's embarrassment.
"Now, if you would excuse me..." And with that, the tiny red fairy vanishes. Though if the group turn their attention to a table a few dozen feet to their side, they would notice she is now talking to another guest.
Smith's heart sinks deep in his chest over his siblings conversation. But not over the insults directed at him, but rather at the mention of their mother. He turns his attention towards Ellen as she tires to comfort him. Without meaning to he begins to slip some of his own personal thoughts about the what ifs in his life, "Sometimes I wonder what I would be like if I stayed with them. Would I still be me? I like to think people are good by nature, but growing up in that kinda of environment...it would be pretty hard to turn out to be the person I am today. Though, its not like they are all bad." He eyes quickly glance at his older sister's direction. "Still, I can't help but think about the possibility that if I had been able to use magic, maybe I could have stick around, and be a good influence to help my family become better people. Then again, when I was little, all I cared about was impressing my father. Everything I did seem to make him happy, and the better I did it, the happier he would get. But had I only knew what that I know now, I would never never have wanted the approval of such a man." -Yet for some reason I still find myself missing those days- he thought to himself angrily. Returning to his usual calm self he proceeds to say, "Thank you for your sympathies. And I'm sorry to hear that you are have problems with your own family. if possible, I hope one day you can solve them."
