Appearance:
Jenifer is a tall woman, lacking muscle and slightly chubby. Almost always she wears a snug purple outfit with a rubbery texture over her regular clothes, composed of a coat and short skirt. Her skin is pale, making it difficult to hide the hair that grows on her knuckles and chin when she fails to shave. Even the hair on top of her head is excessive, growing down into a long tail on each side, each of which nearly reach her ankles. Her face is rather unassuming, a little round with green eyes and an average-sized nose.
History:
Once upon a time, Jenifer’s family ran a massive spirit trafficking ring, allowing them to live in luxury. Then, a bad deal robbed them of their wealth. They fled to the USA, where they already owned homes in anticipation of shady real estate deals. With what money they had, they settled into a mostly comfortable upper-middle class existence.
It was here that Jenifer was born. Unlike her sister Jun, she had never experienced the highs of their near-royal life before, and she was raised speaking English and learning American culture from day one. While her sister became more isolated and miserable, Jenifer achieved moderate social success, especially going into high school.
With a reputation for being “easy” and her hard working, outgoing personality, Jenifer didn’t find it hard to find romance. Unfortunately, this would be her undoing when her boyfriend gave her lycanthropy. Unaware of this condition, she transformed the next month, attacking her parents before being driven into the attic. When she came to in the morning, she was given just enough time to dress before being thrown out of the house.
It was here her wanderings began. Her boyfriend told her his parents wouldn’t let him stay with her, so she skipped town looking for work. From town to town she jumped, chaining herself up each full moon and fleeing to avoid repercussions for the damage her lupine form did and find new jobs after her absences every time she felt herself transforming left her unemployed. She ended up in Nashville, working as a janitor until she had enough money to buy and license a food cart. It was when she was closing up one night that a mysterious figure came to her. She looked like a child, but she spoke like an adult.
After buying a basket of fried shrimp, the strange girl started to ask questions about her tired eyes, her tattered clothing, her hairy palms and chin. Soon enough, she asked if Jenifer was a lycan. When Jenifer, stunned, responded that she was, she was offered a scholarship at Gateway, where she could complete her schooling without worrying about food and rent. Jenifer accepted immediately. 4 years later she graduated and worked her way up to cooking for a food truck again with the help of a letter of recommendation directly from Arthur Cromwell, the CEO of Goodknight.
Personality:
Jen is driven by an immense work ethic, taking on any problem with maximum effort. This is paired with a certain stubbornness; she has difficulty changing tact once she’s settled on her end goal. She is deeply kind, always ready to help somebody in need, especially if they need a hot meal. This extends to stray animals, and while she always ends up giving them to shelters, she has a rotating cast of stray animals in her home at any one time. Her lycan instincts compel her to hunt, but she never hunts anything she can’t cook.
Relationships:
Arthur Cromwell- Briefly her boss, Jenifer left his company on good terms, seeking her own path. When by chance they met again, she was excited to date him, but the relationship quickly fizzled out. They are still friends, but Jenifer has some disappointments about the relationship's failure.
Jun Li- Before she was kicked out, Jenifer was Jun’s second closest friend. To Jenifer, Jun was her cool older sister who won kendo competitions and had a job (before quitting and moving back in because she couldn’t afford the apartment without her boyfriend’s income). After being kicked out, she never found her again, but she hopes to see her one day.
Powers:
Ice- Jenifer can create, manipulate, and destroy ice. Her mana pool is limited due to a lack of training, but she can get by with what she has. This also grants her a resistance to cold, a passive ability she retains even as a lycanthrope.
Lycan powers- Jenifer has far greater senses than a regular human, at least hearing and scent. She can also regenerate from her injuries quicker to an absurd degree, capable of recovering from a near-fatal wound in mere hours.
Feral form- As a lycan, Jenifer is vastly stronger and faster than usual. However, she is also near-mindless and lacks control of her actions. She cannot use her weapon or magic as a lycan.
Summons- Jen’s summons are four insectoid creatures. They have four antennae and 8 limbs each, with the foremost four limbs being lobster-like claws. Their eyes are eerily human, staring unblinking from a mane of white fur. Their wings are leathery, more like a bat’s than an insect’s. Their furry abdomens are shaped like a wasp’s, and inject venom that numbs and chills the body.
Paul is the smallest and gentlest, least prone to fighting. However, they are not gentle enough that Jenifer can trust them with other animals, as they are also the most prone to prey upon small creatures.
John is aggressive towards the others and fiercely defensive of Jenifer. They are missing an eye and an antennae.
George is the largest and least social. When the group is fed, they tear away the largest portion and drag it away for themselves and not even John stops them.
Ringo is the most vocal, chirping and humming often. They have a fluffier coat than the others.
Gear:
Lycan suit- This rubbery outer layer of clothing resists damage and repairs itself. While it can function as armor, its main function is to remain on her body when she transforms into a lycanthrope, not being torn apart or removed.
Telescoping halberd- A halberd that can lengthen and shorten at will to function at either its full length or a much more manageable one-handed length for tighter quarters. Jen is skilled with both lengths, but has not trained extensively enough to be a master.
