The laughter was all the answer she needed to determine what the Lady intended to do next. Without saying another word to the Lady of the Forest, Aria disappears in a flash of light and reappears a few meters away, dodging the flowers that were appearing all around them. She anticipated where some of them were going to appear from the roots that were displaced when the flowers began to form, so dodging them wasn't much of an issue. However, a sharp pain in her right arm told her these flowers weren't the only issue at hand. Glancing upward, Aria sees that a thick yellow and green gas was descending on the battlefield, and was highly acidic.
Quickly attaching a vine to her left arm, she forcefully rips it out of it's socket and onto the ground, it already beginning to dissolve. Then, Aria summons an array of vines to surround her body, having taken note that none of the forest seemed to be affected by this toxin, so by extension the forest could protect her as well. While in her vine suit, Aria began to grow back the detached arm, now much slower that the sunlight intake was back to normal. This woman was much too powerful to fight as she was...she needed some backup. Turning on her communicator, Aria began talking to Seto.
---
"Mhm...mhm...I see. Righto sis, I'll get right on that. You're gonna love this!" Seto exclaims, hanging up on Aria after taking her request. Quickly typing on his keyboard, Seto calls up a certain member of the Research and Development department. "Hey, Smith! I got a job for you. You know that...experimental device we talked about? Well...Aria kinda needs it now. So if you could use it at these coordinates, that would be great. Any questions?" He asks, seeing if Smith knew what device he was talking about, exactly.
---
Erin shouts less in protest to the wolf's assault, now feeling more light headed from all the sudden movements and jumping around that she had to be a part of in this battle. It was akin to being on a roller coaster that she couldn't control, and Erin couldn't take much more of this. "Hey...suggestion. Take us up to it's head...and slash at it's eyes. It seemed hurt when I attacked it...so you can do more damage." If this next attack didn't work, Erin feared she may become too light headed and just pass out. So hopefully this was nearing the conclusion.
---
Alex's eyes widen slightly at how easily the demon shrugged off his attacks. Jumping backward, he observed Chase's own assault against the creature, taking note of how ineffective those strikes were as well. Were they really this out matched? No...there must be something they were missing here. What was the first thing this demon did when he showed up...surround the battlefield in darkness! Could it be possible that this creature grew stronger the less light there was in the environment, like being the opposite to what Aria's powers were based on?
Turning to Chase, Alex teleports over to him and places his hand over his mouth once more so Abdux can't read his lips while he was talking. "It's only a hunch...but what if he feeds off this darkness? If we can bring some light into this place, he may get weak enough for us to damage him. I'll try to poke some holes in this barrier, you try doing the same." And with that, Alex begins concentrating all his magic energy into his chains. Instantly, hundreds of chains erupt from various portals around the air, each unleashing a flurry of chains at blinding speeds to crash into the dome of darkness. Hopefully they would be enough to pierce it, and shed some light back into the temple.

The creature is completely surprise by its prey unleashing a sudden blast of flames, and with his mouth open wide, the majority of the fire is quickly consume and dwells within its stomach momentarily. Even with the giant beast’s body being blanket by fire and the stomach becoming warmer every second, the raging monster doesn’t remain stun for too long after the initial explosion. It stands on its hind legs so upright that it resemble a man’s posture. Then looking up, the massive predator notices an approaching snack, while black smokes escapes through its disturbing facial orifices. Soon the burnt skin of its throat begins to glow bright with vague highlights of a rich shade of red appearing through the less meaty parts of the neck. By the time Stephan’s foot is a few feet away from landing on the gruesome head, the monster’s successfully regurgitates the flames from inside his body and liberates his earlier meal towards the armored man, which is accompany by a mighty roar that echoes throughout the battlefield.

The Spirit wolf nods its head to Erin’s plan and shifts into high gear. As the maim spirit animal picks up speed, his body starts to shine with a dazzling silver fur. Before long the pack leader becomes fast enough that it transforms his appearance into a blinding blur of moonlight silver. Streaking across the terrain in a complex series of patterns to evade with beautiful grace the titan tree’s attacks, which leave deep craters all across the trail that the wolf crosses towards its opponent. The wolf climbs and springs off the short mountain range once more and quickly piercing the body of his foe with his fangs. Without waiting for the gigantic thousand arm monster to response, Aria’s familiar performs a beeline straight to the top. Though before reaching the top, the tree expels countless number of spikes from every point from its upper body. The force behind each spike is enough to launch them dozens of miles away. For instance, some spikes reach the sea, yet not a single one scratches the wolf or Erin, for the incredible natural fighter is able to intercept any spike by either the movement of the body, or through the use of launching his own spikes via energizing fur. At last, the two of them arrive at their destination. While the noble animal continues to evade, it leaves it up to Erin to deal the killing blow.

After hearing Alex’s strategy, he says, “Sounds good.” He prepares himself as he looks for his opportunity to strike, yet even in this deadly situation, he couldn’t help but be somewhat impressive by Alex’s next maneuver. Yet, their opponent did not seem to care about the sheer of chains summon in the attempt to break the temple’s outter shield. Abdux studies the trajectory of his foe’s chains without much difficulty and assumes that he is trying to create an exit. “Trying to escape…” Extending his right arm towards the chains he continues to say, “...You will have to do better than that.” Below the inner layers of the temple’s shield erupts a wall of blue flames that expand into a small cloud, where Alex’s chain melt apart before coming close enough to make contact with the temple’s shield. Though Alex’s chains did not not allow the sunlight to enter, it seems that Abdux has help the HWIC’s agent’s goal. By creating a massive maelstrom of blue flames, the demonic spirit also produce an incredible light source for the area. The darkness from before is no longer present as the whole place is as bright as if a bluish sun itself is shining down on the temple.
While still not picking up the chain summoner’s true aim, Abdux prepares to strike Alex with another technique, but before he could make another gesture, he suddenly notices a sword coming straight at his side from the soulless one, who is using the same trick as before to increase his capabilities and give him a reddish aura. Thinking the blade could never cut him, he allows the swing to continue for he is confident in his skin’s toughness to be able to withstand the slice yet before long he realizes that was a mistake. As the blade comes into contact, his skin splits apart, though the damage appears to have been as deep as a paper cut. Once he finishes the first swing, the slightly armored Chase goes back for another swing thinking that the effects of the light will continue to weaken the corrupt spirit. Meanwhile, the Lady of the Forest’s guardian did not feel any pain from the shallow, rather he is overwhelm with embarrassment along with the shook of the strike’s success against him. With his eyes fix on the nearly invisible cut on his side, he pays no attention to Chase’s second swing, which produces a large vertical scratch across his chest to his belly.
The second cut looks to be roughly the same depth as the last one, at least to a careless observer, but in reality the second strike is deeper, proof that the longer he is expose to a light source the weaker the man becomes, though the rate at which his strength decreases seems to be extremely slow. Perhaps the sluggish depleting of Abdux’s might can be contributed to the fact that the light source affecting him now was created by himself. Still, after receiving another slash resulting in his skin being cut, regardless of how small, causes the demonic spirit’s temper to get serious. After being somewhat successful with two swings, Chase brings his blade around his body for another, but this time his opponent prevents the attack by punching the side of the blade, which shatters the weapon into tiny fragments. Dropping the handle of his broken sword, he continues to attack with a solid punch to the breadbasket. The force of his punch causes the ground around them to break apart, along with a shockwave that is strong enough to crack the temple’s walls and even cause ripples to form on the temple’s shield.
Regardless of how impressive the blow appears to the viewer, it results in zero damage against the likes of Abdux, at least in his current condition. The still powerful demon stares down as he watches his opponent’s next attack coming from his other fist, which aims for the same spot as the first. At this moment, he already realizes that the two of them had figure out his weakness. Yet, this type of light only truly influences his physical prowess, it did not have any connection with some of his other abilities. For instance, his hellish blue flame did not lose anything from a light source, which he quickly understands when his opponent once more releases an aura of his infamous flames around his body. Chase’s body begins to disintegrate and would have been completely turn to ashes had he not pull out his shield and jump backwards the moment the flames appear. At this point, his skin is practically no more, and much of his muscles and bones can be seen, though thankfully his regeneration abilities under the power of his soul bank, quickly bring him back to resemble somewhat of his usually self before his opponent’s next move.
The fiendish spirit flaps his wings towards a recovering Chase and summons a massive gust of blue flames in his general direction. Bracing himself behind his shield, he does his best to withstand the blow. Though it is not him alone that has to deal with the attack. The gust of wind also strikes against Alex’s fellow HWIC members. inside and by the Temple. Due to the nature of the attack, the tree creatures the agents face turn to ashes before their very eyes. As for them, thankfully their skill and experience help them secure their lives via each individual’s efforts, but sadly after the dust has settle, it will be clear that they are in no shape to fight, and more importantly, they will need to visit a hospital very shortly. As for the man, who the attack is meant for, he survives inside the rubble that use to be a temple. Soon a noise is heard among the ruin temple as he pushing a large stone off his body with one hand and uses the other to help balance himself upright. His clothes, save for a little bit of his pants still covering his privates and some parts of his legs, are utterly gone. His skin slowly returns to normal as well with his hair. And next to him, is a pile of burning blue hot metal, the last piece of equipment forged by Smith for him.
Things are not looking too good for him right now, but during his attack on Chase, Abdux leaves himself wide open following the aftermath of his last technique. The demon seems to be expecting something from him, almost as if he is waiting for a trump card to be reveal. The demonic spirit commands him, “Come. Use your full strength already. Only by crushing you at your strongest will I be satisfied with your defeat.” He folds both his arms against his chest and his wings behind his back. HIs eyes continue to stare at him, or rather at a certain part of his body. Following his foe’s eyes, he could see that the fiend is gazing at his mark. At first he didn’t comprehend what exactly is the mark capable of, besides being his collar to control him, but at he looks at the symbol with the desire for strength, he could feel the presence of a hidden energy…as well as another spirit lock deep within the mark. If someone is viewing Chase at this very moment, they would notice that his eyes are currently glowing violently green.

Inside a laboratory, which is own by the only person currently working in the lab, a phone goes off. Swiping his hand across to put away various holograms on his most recent project, the man picks up the phone through a mental command he issues. He starts to speak very quickly as soon as the connection is establish, “Seto, I can’t play a game right-” but he quickly stops talking as he gains information on the situation. Without wasting time to confirm anything, he hangs up the phone and starts to issue more commands to about a dozens gadgets at once via his brainwaves . Soon enough a hologram of the planet appears and begins to zoom in to the general area where everyone is fighting. This bird eye view is so realistic, it is almost as if Smith himself is standing above the battlefield. Thanks to his unique eyes, he could view the events in slow motion as he grasps the situation. The most prominent things that catches his attention is seeing the massive tree giant facing off against a rather large wolf, with Erin on top of its head. He makes a note to ask her later how that happen. He then moves over to a sphere of blue fire. Examining it from here couldn’t tell him the source of the fire’s origin, but he has a feeling that the flames is not exactly magic in nature. Moving on, he glances at a monster spitting fire out his mouth like a flamethrower with Eve’s body still in mid air. Finally his eyes look at another sphere of sorts, this time with it begins made out of the body of colossal size trees. A red dot appears on the hologram, which is located right in the middle of the forest sphere.

The Lady of the Forest smiles with a smug face when Aria remove her arm from her body. “When I am through with you, you will beg for death.” As she uses the vines to cover herself, the queen doesn’t attempt to stop her one bit. In fact, she begins to laugh like a lunatic. She wipes away a black tear rolling from one of her eyes, before she eventually reverts back to her hard demeanor. She proceeds to speak coldly, “You may continue to pretend to have control over my forest, but no matter what your ability is, you will never overcome the loyalty of my subjects.” The lady did not only summon trees and toxic to combat her opponent. She also call upon her people, yet rather than use large tree monsters to do battle, she instead use much more smaller creatures to assist her duel. Among the vines are many insects, which are so tiny, that not even an ant could notice them. Now, why use such tiny creatures? Simple. These insects feed on solar energy, and they usually suck on plants to receive the sun’s energy, yet this time they have quite the fest on their hands with their current meal. The tiny insects start to bite down on the president of the HWIC and begin to suck out her solar energy. Each of them soon grow many times bigger as they steal solar energy. The lady’s strategy is simple, she will use these little insects to sap away her strength while she overwhelms her with superior power. Plus this will prevent her from gaining more strength from the sun as well she thought.
_______________________________________________
Without taking his eyes away from that dot, he fingers interact with a hologram of a number pad. Before long, the pad turns bright green and disappears. Replacing the image of the pad is a satellite with a complex design for its solar panels. On the side of the satellite is the initials ELT-A1. The image of the satellite shifts over and reveals what appears to be a large barrel sticking out the base of the space machine. Without waiting much time, the image of the ELT-A1 begins to shift the angle of its barrel slightly before coming to a complete stop. Then the solar panels start to turn from bright yellow to black, while the barrel starts to shine with a almost pure white energy inside. As he prepares the final equations for the satellite, he couldn’t help but feel more determine to one day complete his newest project. Though sadly he has not found the correct metal material needed to serve his purpose. Still, this satellite is without a doubt one of his greatest inventions and he hopes that Aria will be able to handle it. After all, they never perform a practice test before, but he has complete faith in the boss. The barrel end starts to emit a ball of light and without wasting anymore time, the satellite releases a beam of condense light straight down into the earth.
________________________________________________
As the lady prepares to attack Aria with a relentless onslaught of techniques, she senses the arrival of a large supply of solar energy. The entire sky turns so bright that everyone, besides the people in the temple shield, becomes blind momentarily. She couldn’t believe it. The amount of energy she is picking up is beyond anything she could have imagine coming from the sky. This is enough to easily sustain my forest for thousands of years, if not for a million or two. How is this possible? As she remains awestricken, the beam of condense light rips apart the trees in its path and crashes into Aria. The insects sucking in the light act like overinflated balloons and pop at the arrival of the light beam hitting the ground. The light continues to travel from space for a few more seconds before disappearing from the sky, however; the light show continues inside the Lady of the Forest’s sphere. The Lady of the Forest covers her eyes with a single hand and waits for the light to die down before trying to figure out what exactly just happen, and more importantly to witness the condition of her opponent.

Eve chuckled when her attack worked and took advantage of her predator's anger to slash at its fingers with the intent of freeing herself. Stephan wasn't so lucky. His momentum carried him right into the flames the instant before his foot connected. The flames and impact took their toll at once, sending him tumbling with a splintered shin and the Nucleus on fire. Before his body could even rise, the tendrils on his back lashed out and aimed for anything that resembled eyes on the great beast's face. Eve slowed her slashing when she saw the great beam of light striking where Aria and the Queen were fighting. What the hell was going on over there?

The sheer speed the wolf was running at was seriously taking it's toll on Erin's body, her head already feeling dizzy and lightheaded, almost to the point where Erin was going to pass out. But she couldn't...not while this thing was still alive! She concentrated all of her remaining magic energy into creating as many petals as she could; surrounding the head of the giant monster with a cloud of pink petals that each would be deadly to any mortal fighter. Then, once the wolf did it's job, Erin unleashed all of them upon the monster's head in a downpour that looked absolutely beautiful...but was extremely brutal in tearing about the beast's body. Erin put all of her remaining strength into this blast...hopefully it would do something...
---
Inside the temple, Alex stared at Chase's assault against Abdux...studying the effects of each attack. The first slash actually managed to cut the beast, while the second appeared to make an even larger hole in his chest area, proving that light did indeed weaken this monster. Sensing that a devastating attack was coming, Alex focused on summoning a tight network of chains to act as a shield against the blast, even if it wasn't as effective as he'd like. The attack roared through the chains, snapping them apart at the links and hitting Alex's body with a slightly less intense version of the massive blast after the chains failed to block it. As the dust settled, Alex sat up from the wall he was thrown against...his own outfit much more ripped than before, and his body aching more than ever. Heh...it's been awhile since he faced an opponent this deadly.
Not paying attention to Chase and his green eyes, Alex began to chuckle to himself. But not in a mocking way...more out of sheer joy. "Hahahaha! I have to say, this has been an interesting fight! Congratulations...you get to see my best." Alex's eyes were clearly different than before. Much more excited, joyful...sadistic. He grins as a large network of chains covered in deep red and black flames began to erupt around the area, connecting different parts of the destroyed temple to each other, and making an especially tight network around Abdux...leaving just enough of an opening for Chase should he wish to step in. The fire burned hot enough to melt some of the stone that came into contact with the chains, and Alex put even more magic into the chains to make the fire burn even more brilliantly. "You wanted my full strength? Here it is. Burn like the hellscape you came from, demon!" Suddenly, the flames all around Abdux glow brighter and hotter than ever before, Alex attempting to attack him on two fronts; decrease his strength with light coming from the chains, and burn him with the Hellfire Flames. He looked over at Chase as well, expecting something to come of his attack as well.
---
Aria prepared to launch another attack against the Lady, but the HWIC president suddenly found herself losing strength...fast. It took a moment to realize that there were tiny insect-like creatures on her body, sapping her solar energy and lowering her overall magic ability. Aria hastily tried to rip the insects off, but they clung onto her skin tighter with every pull. Damn it, this can't be the end! No...no, it isn't the end at all. Because Aria wasn't fighting alone.
In that instant, a massive pillar of light ripped through the surrounding area, striking directly onto her position and causing all the insects to burst off of her like hellish balloons being inflated too much. The HWIC president began to absorb the tremendous amount of light being beamed down to her, instantly healing all of her wounds and quickly began spiking her own abilities. It was as if she were in the middle of a thousand suns, each baking her flesh in the unbearable heat of the star...but also shattering any concept of limit Aria previously thought she had. As the milliseconds dragged on like an eternity, Aria felt...calm. It was as if nothing in the world could hurt her in this pillar of light, time now slowing to nearly a crawl for the HWIC President. It was at that moment Aria had a realization; it wasn't the world slowing down...it was her own sense of time that's been heightened to the point where everything else seems to be moving in slow motion. Soon, the pillar of light began to fade...revealing the revitalized person beneath the shroud.
The figure that stood there was now glowing a faint white aura around her body, her eyes now a completely calm but determined demeanor, a look normally seen in Aria's eyes whenever she confronted a dangerous situation. A noticeable amount of heat was also radiating off of Aria's body, even people several yards away could feel the stinging heat burning their skin unless they moved back. Time seemed to almost be at a stop for Aria's perception; her own senses heightened to process information thousands of times faster than even a superhuman. Taking a quick glance around, thousands of the tree army were still ravaging the area...they must be stopped as well.
Bolting forward at a speed not even perceptible by sight, Aria rips through the surrounding forests, tearing apart the monsters with her bare hands; her own strength being many times stronger than it is normally. The HWIC president rips through monster after monster, her own heat being strong enough to light the remains on fire after she tosses them onto the ground. Hundreds of tree monsters exploded into fiery remains within a second; almost as if a single bolt of lightning struck the area and destroyed everything in it's path. After only a few seconds, over a thousand tree monsters lay on the ground, burning to ashes on the forest floor. But Aria's attack was far from over.
Keeping up her immense speed, Aria nearly teleports in front of the Lady of the Forest, and kicks her square in the jaw; likely shattering it if the Lady had anatomy similar to a human's. The Lady's body slowly flew upward into the air, so Aria took this time to take out her pistols, and unleash a maelstrom of small gunfire to rip through the Lady's body while she slowly ascended into the air. Once the opponent was high enough, Aria rockets forward and slams her fist directly into the Lady's kidney area, striking with the force many times that of her normal strength. Then, she takes advantage of the slow reaction time and goes to the other side of the Lady to unleash a powerful punch to the back of her head. This pattern was then repeated dozens of times in the span of 2 seconds, keeping the Lady of the Forest in the air and in one spot, continuously being shot at different directions, then back the other way forcefully. Finally, a single knee to the gut launches her opponent far into the sky; toward a peculiar-looking mountain. Aria had received detailed information about the landscape here, and there was a volcano nearby.
After repeated strikes, Aria stops her combo with one final axe kick downward into the volcanic crater, straight toward the searing lava below. But that wasn't enough. Focusing on the absorbed solar energy, Aria concentrates a decent portion of it into two fireball bullets in her pistols, which she aims directly into the volcanic crater. With a loud 'BOOM', the pistols unleash one monstrous fireball that was almost the entire size of the volcanic opening itself. The fireball ripped through many rocks on the way down, crashing into the lava below and causing a tremor to shake the ground around it, culminating in one large lava plume that erupts upward; coating the walls of the volcano in lava and slowly causing it to harden into obsidian on the areas toward the top. Aria leered down at the volcano before her, seeing if any life at all could survive that. If the Lady could control plants, it makes sense to finish her in the most inhospitable environment for a plant imaginable; lava.

The graceful and deadly petals rush downwards like a beautiful and mighty pink waterfall. Drowning the gigantic tree creature’s head. The barrage slices through countless layers of bark, foliage, branches twigs, and everything else that belong to the crown of the titan creation of the Lady of the Forest. Yet, rather than defend itself from the onslaught of slashes and cuts, the overgrown topiary stretches its numerous arms across the battlefield. It is attempting to seek out the individual responsible for destroying the body of its queen, and return the favor. Soon enough, a swarm of arms wrap around the the erupting volcano in a desperate attempt to destroy Aria. Within a few arm slams, the volcano’s shape is transform into a rather unrecognizable image. If one visits the scene after the battle, they would astonish at the sheer size of the rock pile now standing were a volcano used to be. Back to current events, the escaping lava from the remains of the volcano, splashes all around, giving birth to a tremendous forest fire, while also slapping across the massive creature’s arms, causing its limbs to also turn ablaze.
Meanwhile, inside the titan, the alpha wolf continues to use whatever energy it could muster to tear apart the giant green solider. Waving its arms to claw out whatever stands in its way, opening and closing its powerful jaws to bite and rip out whatever is in its reach. Even the hair on its body becomes a efficient weapon. The sliver coat begins to grow in size and sharpness, save for one area, which hosts its master’s sibling. Using the new fur, it rotates its body quickly to create a devastating affect on all that touches against its body. It is as if the wolf is now the world’s largest silver bullet.
Eve’s attacks did not cause the creature to loosen his grip, if anything, the beast starts to tighten its hold on her body and prepares to crush the metal lady. Yet, before it could do just that, it momentarily forgets about her as tendrils begin to flitter around and claw against the muscular monster’s face. Most of the strikes leave no evidence of injury, nor does the creature’s behavior hints that any harm is being done. Rather it was more out of annoyance then anything that causes the corrupt predator to refocus its attention back to its initial prey. Not much time pass during the shift of interest, when a single tendril manages to swing around and perfectly pierce one of the two vulnerable spots on the brawny beast body, its right eye. However, rather than react hurt to the his eye being sliced through, the creature’s hands shots forward to grab Stephen. Once he had the armored lad in his hands, it prepares rip him from different ends of his body with a rapid and brutal twisting motion. This action of course, releases Eve from his grip. But he did not release her by simply loosing his grip, rather he had toss her high into the air, and allow gravity to take control of her once more and pull her back towards the cracked ground.
Abdux turns his gaze towards the direction where Aria has just deliver a most magnificent beat down. Even if his his sphere of hellish blue flames prevents his captives from examining the ongoings of the conflict, the large demon could still sense what was happening outside. However, he did not react violently, or even upset, about the recent events about his precious little queen. Instead, he begins to ponder about the general situation. -At the beginning of this war, our victory over this world was essentially guaranteed. The final hours were at hand, then suddenly these random pest show up and interfere with everything. I figured that they would serve as amusing entertainment at best, but never would I have imagine this scenario.- Looking up to the sky, he continues to analyze the source of this newfound power for the lady of light. -It would appear that the flashy light show is somehow connected to her sudden and overwhelming increase of abilities. Where exactly did this power bestow upon her come from exactly?- he asked himself with genuine curiosity. -It seems we have underestimated just how resourceful these humans truly are. Had I only dealt with them at night, or even-He closes his eyes for a moment to refocus his attention back to the task at hand, -No matter now.- He begins to walk towards Chase. -Either way, these humans are out of time. Any moment now the flower will bloom.-
He stops as he hears his other foe’s laughter. He gradually adjusts his body to face Alex. Listening to him speak, Abdux hopes that his words are true. Then before he could properly react, a storm of chains begin to wrap around his body. The light of the chains cause him to lose much strength, but the flames did not damage him so much as annoyed the demon due to his heat resistance. At first, he tries to break through with pure might, but quickly realizes that the chains were too strong and his was losing his power too quickly for this to work. “Well done Human!” he said with a smile. “As a reward for you efforts, I’ll grant you a swift death!” His body begins to glow with a hellish blue glow as he calls upon his own flames. The blueish flame further weakens his body, but begin to burn and consume Alex’s flames. Soon enough, the chains holding him starts to slowly melt. Meanwhile as Alex deals with Abdux, Chase is dealing with his own demon.
A vague voice begins to whisper to Chase, yet he could not make out any words. But he could tell that it is trying to convince him to do something. To give it something. At first, Chase is open to the suggestions he is barely hearing, and slowly his mind starts to leave the battle and enter into a world of utter darkness. In this world he could see a shadow of a figure. As he slowly comes closer to the figure he could sense a growing and overwhelming presence. He could sense a power awaiting for him, but one that was out of his control. Yet, he wanted it. He didn’t even care if he could tame this creature staring at him, or the danger that it could present to him. All he could think of was the power that could be his. As he is about to come face to face with the shadow, it stretches out an arm and opens its hand. As the hand opens, a greenish light was beginning to shine on the world, however the figure remains as unrecognized as before under the veil of darkness.
No longer does Chase’s eyes glow, but a green aura begins to pour from his body. The air around him begins to twist and vibrate under the pressure of the power surrounding his body. Soon enough the atmosphere of the temple’s ground begins to feel denser and denser. Eventually the very air starts to taste toxic in the mouths of the surviving fighters. Abdux ceases his actions as he quickly checks on his soulless enemy. As he picks up on his increasing energy, the demon is shocked how by the sheer potency behind the Mark of Chaos. Even though Chase has not come close to unleashing the mark’s full power, he could peer into the inner realm of the Chaos’s servant, and get a feel for the true power behind the mark. And for a split second the thought of escaping crosses his mind. As he was now, he knew he could not win against the resident of the mark. Yet, if he could defeat the host fast enough…Abdux begins to produce even more bluish flames then before as he desperate to break free and defeat his opponents before it was too late.
Chase now stands right in front of the figure hiding in the shadows. His eyes fixed on the green orb of swirling energy a couple of inches from his face. His arm haltingly moves as he prepares to touch the object of power. Yet, before his fingers could grab it, he could hear a new voice calling to him. This one sounded much more familiar, and contain plenty of passion and anger. Bit-by-bit he turns his head to look at the source of this new voice and discovered a naked version of himself yelling at him. This Chase continues to scream at him with a clear message: He was endanger. The figure begins to snare at the presence of the second Chase. At first he could not comprehend the words that he was shouting at himself as his mind feels extremely fuzzy within this world, but his instincts is telling him to trust his other self. Yet, before he could walk towards his mirror version, the shadowy figure shifts instantly to stand in front of him, cutting him off from himself. Unlike before, it did not tempt the orb to Chase, but rather smashes the orb into his chest as it forces the sphere of energy into his body.
Chase begins to cry out in pain, while simultaneously a wave of of energy emerges from his body. The blast slams into the temple’s shield with so much force that it not only push aside the bluish flames burning along the interior of the temple’s forcefield, but cracks the walls of the safeguard. He continues to repeat a harrowing noise and collapses onto his knees as both hands reach for his chest. “NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!” chanted Chase as his rages build ups while he fights with the mark’s dweller for control of his body. “I don’t need you!” So just get the fuck out of my way!” His willpower magnifies as he struggles to remove the influence of the denizen locked deep within him, yet the power was too much. He was going to lose this conflict at this rate. His fear of losing control of his body to this thing outweighs his fear of using black hole soul. And immediately Chase begins to tap into the power of the spirit energy he has collected throughout this battle.
Before when Chase has used his Soul Overdrive, he only used a tiny fraction of the spirit energy he has gathered from his time on the battlefield. Never before had he have so much spirit energy, and was scared to used the power. However, he wasn’t going to let himself be taken over by this creature. His greenish aura starts to dim down as a new reddish aura starts to emerge from his body, and then his aura exploded into a massive torrent of power. A clash occurs between his reddish and green energy. During the conflict, more energy blasts are unleashed from his body that repeatedly smash into the temple’s shields until they completely collapse. The energy waves then spread across the battlefield. Causing many wolfs and tree monsters to stop their own fights and look towards the head of the gigantic rock creature, where they could sense is the epicenter of the energy. At first, the two energy seem to be even, but slowly the green energy begins to die down as Chase burns up more and more spirit energy to further boost his Soul Overdrive mode. Soon enough, his skin color turns pinkish and evolves into a bright reddish tone.
Abdux looks at Chase with a face of complete bewilderment. He never thought that curse would allow him to be able to pull off something like this. Yet, he is not the only one that was surprised by Chase’s performance…. Below the surface, many miles deep into the earth, a figure resting by the Queen’s personal lake twitches once he could sense the energy. Yet, he soon smirks and says, “Things are getting pretty exciting out there huh. First that light show and now this.” He stands up and proceeds to stretch his many tails while cracking his neck a few times. But it was not only the lady of the forest’s “guest” that was interested in this energy. Many miles away from the battlefield, Osamu’s opens his eyes. After finishing his task, he decided to spend some time mediating so that he could give the others a chance to deal with these foes. Figuring this was good experience for them for the future, yet upon the shield breaking, he could finally sense Chase’s current situation. At first, he was prepared to go to Chase’s location once he felt the energy of the mark, but he could tell Chase’ was fighting it with his own strength. So he waited a bit longer to see how things go, yet either way, he knew he was going to have to act soon.
Back at the ruin temple grounds, Chase’s Soul Overdrive advances into even higher levels without tempering one bit. His greenish aura is being erased by the crushing existence of his Soul Overdrive. His whole body is almost glowing with a reddish tint at this point. After defeating the resident of the mark, he takes several heavy breathes before he stands back to his feet. He immediately looks at Abdux, who is close to freeing himself from his chains. Chase turns his attention to Alex and says,“You best teleport out of here after the first punch,” he said with a clear warning for the HWIC’s member’s safety. As he is now, he wouldn’t be able to control the outcome of his own strikes. And with the temple’s shields down, Alex would be able to safely teleport out of here. Taking a moment to flex his aura down to surround only a few inches away from his body, the reddish aura stopped producing powerful energy waves. Once he shrink his aura, Chase’s vanishes from sight and appears right above Abdux’s head, who still hasn’t manage to free himself and was going to be unable to defend himself from this blow.
Chase swings his fist against the demon’s forehead, and as the strike lands, a powerful shockwave emerges and the ground erupts. The massive rock creature screams in pain as his entire skull cracks under the weight of his attack, yet its agony is cut short by the the next punch, which lands in the same spot as the first. The force of the second attack smashes the gigantic four legged transporter’s head into hundreds of hundreds of massive boulders. Boulders which rain down on the battlefield, some large enough to crush the tree troops below, who are all larger then some house. Yet the two strikes from the soulless man only caused moderate damage against his opponent, but luckily for him, even as their surroundings crash into the ground below, Alex’s chains survive and kept his opponent suspended in the air. Assaulting with equal force to his previous strikes, Chase begins to throw thousands of blows against his foe’s face. The brutal barrage was eventually too much for the chain’s to handle and they shatter into pieces.. As Abdux is about to fall, he manages to deliver a powerful heel kick right on the top of his head and send into the area below at an incredible velocity:
Upon the impact of the demon hitting the ground, hundreds of trees troops are send flying through the air. For a moment, Abdux just lies in a crater with his body covered in bruises and blood. Looking up he could see Chase standing on one of the falling rocks staring in his direction. As the sunlight hits his body, his power was beginning to decrease further and further, yet even as he was getting weaker, he could sense his foe was continuing to gain more and more power, especially after gaining the soul of the rock creature he had just killed during his barrage. Before he could get back on his feet, the Chaos’ slave jumps off his foothold, and rushes towards him while performing a nosedive. A moment before Chase could smash into him, Abdux spreads his wings and takes off, managing to avoid his opponent’s landing shot. Yet, he only dodge his air strike, as the soulless one quickly shifts his body at superhuman speeds to quickly throw a thrust kick, which catches him right in side. The demon coughs up a mouthful of blood and is propel at super sonic speeds into a hill hundreds of meters away.
As Abdux’s body is blasted into the hillside, Chase’s briskly pulls back the foot he just kicked with and plants his foot back on the ground before entering a deep stand. He looks forward and spots the location of his opponent by sensing his spiritual presence, and without a moment of hesitation, he leaps off the ground with a mighty push. As he jumps off the ground, a massive sonic boom reaps through the area and the triples the size of the crater due to the impetus of his movement. He flings through the air at hypersonic speeds, arriving at his intended target within a spit second of his opponent smashing into the hill. But before Chase could reach the demon, his opponent quickly braces for his bullrush. Yet even with his guard up, the force of Chase’s strike blasts him through the rock structure. The demon’s travels through the hill like a bullet, and only stopped once he hits another hill side, which is nearly a mile away from the previous one. As he regains his senses from the last attack, the soulless one appeared to have teleport to his position, but this time he was ready. They begin to exchange a series of blows as they move across the side of the hillside. At times, Abdux would have Chase against the wall, and other times Chase would have Abdux against the wall. The cycle repeats over and over again as they unleash a barrage of techniques against the other, and numerous craters begin to form along the hill’s body as evidence of their trading blows:
Eventually the demon gains the upper hand as he throws a quicker strike then his enemy. His fist slams into Chase’s body and launches him on a 45 degree angle, where he smashes into the ground. Abdux smiles as he watched the soulless fighter crashes into the terrain below. The almost naked blond man recovers quickly enough and gets to his feet in time to see his enemy ready to pounce on him with a combination of attacks. He evades and blocks hundreds of attacks with careful body maneuvers, and prepares to counterattack with his own powerful punch. But that was what his the demon was anticipating. With a careful side step, he eludes Chase’s attack and promptly covers his hand with his bluish flames. He then proceeds to deliver a karate chop with his burning hand and removes his opponent’s arm with one smooth motion. He expected that losing an limb would cause his foe to paralyze for a moment, and that he would use that timeframe to finish him off. But he couldn’t had predicted that Chase would step closer to him as if nothing had happen while charging an enormous amount of spirit energy into his fist. Before the demon could properly return to a defensive stance, he received a vigorous uppercut right in the midsection of his body. The force of his blow destroys his internal organs as the strike rips through his body. Gallons of blood pour out of Abdux’s body as Chase pulls his fist out of his body. The demon couldn’t even retaliate as he is too shocked from his recent injury. Seeing an opening, he delivers another devastating upper cut punch, this time hitting him right on the chin and sending him into the clouds above.
Chase takes a moment to examine his wound, where large quantities of blood flow out of him like a miniature river. He noticed that his healing factor wasn’t working as well as it should, plus the blueish flames have not been extinguished. He carefully places his hand over the mutilation and begins to apply a large amount of spirit pressure to the injury. His aura roars and expands outwards as he focuses on overwhelming the fire. Soon enough, the flames were blown away from the sheer output of spirit energy he was producing. Once he removed the fire, he slowly crouches down and retrieves his removed appendage. He places his detach arm back to its original position, and quickly begins to heal and refused his limb back to his body. As he finishes up mending himself, a large blue fireball is fired from above his head. He hastily escaped the blast, and looks up to spot Abdux flying in the air as he is surrounded by dozens of tiny blue fireballs. The demon points down at him and more fireballs head towards his direction. As they move, they begin to develop in size. Becoming larger and larger until each fireball could burn a whole neighborhood down by itself. Yet, it wasn’t just the size of these fireballs that worried Chase. He could tell that a single one of those fireballs could spell trouble for him if the flames from their impact hits him. And so he decided to run away from the bombardment.
As he dodges, Abdux begins to laugh and taunt him from above as he continues to create and fire more deadly hellish blue fireballs at him. Yet Chase knew that he couldn’t afford to withstand two or three of those fireballs, and wasn’t in a position to close the distance as his opponent continues to fly overhead. He was going to need some way to get up to him. He searches around and looks at the nearby hills, trying to find a high point to jump from. But nothing around was safe as the demon’s flames have already set fire to most of the territory around him. “Where would be a good place to jump from?” asked Chase. His eyes then scan the battlefield until he spots what he needed. He smiles to himself and puts even more spirit energy into his Soul Overdrive then before so that he can increase his speed to unbelievable levels. At some point everything was starting to look like it was in slow mode from his perspective, including the fireballs from above. Meanwhile his own movements would appear to be a reddish blur to even those with the most incredible reflexes and senses. After putting tremendous amounts of spirit energy into his body’s ability to move fast, he turns away from his foe and begins to run along a close by rive, and eventually throughout the entire battlefield On the way to his goal, he comes across Eve, Stephen, and a hulking creature.
Chase could see Eve slowly falling towards the ground, and at the same time he could see the armored lad is about to be ripped in two. He didn’t really care to save them, but figured that the creature could provide a decent amount of spirit energy, and considering how much he is exhausting to be able to keep his Soul Overdrive at this level, he was going to need every bit of spirit energy he could gather. So he takes a short detour, and moves to the beast’s position and throws a quick combo of punches, Star Platinum style. Before Eve or Stephen would be able to process what had occurred, the danger that they had been facing exploded into a gory mess of destroyed body parts and blood. His Black Hole Soul swiftly consumes the soul of the creature and Chase continues on his way. He sprints through the battlefield and eventually runs along the short mountains around the base of the gigantic flower tree. He quickly travels over the mountains and arrive at his object, the titan tree creature that the Spirit Wolf and Erin are currently battling against. Using his recently acquired spirit energy, he further augments his already boosted stats as he dashes towards the sky along the colossus tree entity’s frame.
As he runs along the body of the the titan tree creature, he turns to study Erin’s attack against the gigantic sentry. With his enhances senses, he could make out the individual petals slashing apart the enormous creature apart. As he watches the tiny blades cut the guardian into pieces, an idea pops into his head. He reaches towards the petals and carefully grabs a few petal’s side with the tips of his fingers until he held a handful of them. Satisfied with the amount, he looks ahead and continues to rush upwards towards one of the massive arms of the titan tree monster. Within fractions of a second, reddish blur travels the whole distance of the lengthy appendage before leaping off towards his opponent. Thanks to his newest highpoint, Chase manages to reach his flying fore who turns around and prepares to smash the soulless man with a massive blast of his blueish flames. Yet before he could pull off the attack, he throws his handful of petals at Abdux’s eyes. The pinkish petals proceed to slice at the demon’s eyes, causing him to yell in agony as he tries to wipe the petals out of his eyes. As his opponent is distracted, he takes a distinctive stance in the air: His fists are place by his hips, and his bends his knees slightly as he gathers a huge amount of spirit energy into his fists.
By the time Abdux removes the petals from his eyes, he is immediately greeted with a punch to the face. However, he does not receive only a single blow, but thousands upon thousands of blows. Chase strikes his opponent repeatedly with his fists, which gradually move faster and hit harder over time. Eventually the punches move so fast that the friction between his fists and the air set his hands ablaze. His opponent, refusing to become a punching bag, retorts with his own barrage of punches infused with bluish flames. The two of them don’t even bother to defend or dodge each other’s strikes at this point. Instead of breaking away from their exchange in midair, they just continue to attack each other with no regard for their own personal safety. Regardless of beginning to suffer from major injuries, both warriors will not yield one bit. As their fists collide, they produce powerful shockwaves that begin to shake the skies and the earth. Many wolfs, tree soldiers, and HWIC members grew worried over the conflict above their heads. Knowing full well that even if they were not engaging either Chase or Abdux, that should their fight move towards the ground, it would put their lives in danger. And so, without any need to agree with each other, all combatants cease their own fighting and desperately distance themselves from the two dangerous individuals above.
The Lady of the Forest’s body could not withstand the punishment of Aria’s assault and plummets into the lava. As he drops into the entrance of the volcano, she stares at the pretender from the perspective of her ruin body. Her facial expression reveals her utter contempt and hatred for her foe. But before she could dive into the lava, her eyes shift focus from a despicable woman to her most precious child, which will soon bloom and overwhelm the world. A sly smiles lightly spreads across her face at the thought of replacing the reign of man with her own. Even after receiving fatal damage, and destined to collapse into the mouth of an active volcano, she doesn’t appear terrified at the prospect of her own demise. Once her body hits the lava, she disappears with a jumbo splash of magma. A few seconds pass of eerie silence before the skyscraper size plants, summoned by the Queen earlier, begin to lose strength. One by one, the gigantic plants fold and fall back into the depths of the earth. As they are called back into Hades’ land, a shrinking process occurs to the deadly organisms. As they fall, they progress apace from the magnitude of the world’s largest trees to the tiniest shrubs before vanishing from the light of day. The wall created by the Lady of the Forest also follows suit, and begins to slowly descends back to the earth as well.
Scanning the area around herself, Aria’s perception of reality was starting to speed back up, allowing her to see that the giant trees around the area had started to crumble back into the ground that they came from. The Lady herself had disappeared underneath the thick lava below, a fate that after the assault that Aria had just inflicted on the plant queen, she didn’t think would be survivable. However, the sound of another large ongoing fight made her turn around to see Chase trading blows with a large demon-like creature, the speed of which would make her normal senses almost unable to track with her eyes. But before the HWIC president could teleport and help Chase out, a small vine took hold of her right leg, making her stop in her tracks. No way she could still be alive...quickly pointing her pistol at the vine to blast it off her leg, Aria peers over the volcano to see if there was any activity in the area the Lady fell into.
“Where are you looking?” asked the Lady of the Forest above Aria. The Queen looked similar to her last body, yet now she possess a pair of purple butterfly wings and her skin color changed to a bright red. “You must be quite shocked, Pretender! Though, believe me when I tell you I am even more surprised. It is not often that I must discard a body and form another,” she finished her last sentence barely containing the growing rage inside her. The Lady of the forest was not limited to a single body, but rather limited to her area of influence. That is to say, the entire forest is her true body, and she only requires a vessel to contain the majority of her spirit and consciousness in order to operate as a separate entity from her kingdom. So as her previous body was being burned by the volcanic liquid, the bulk of her individuality was released from her destroyed receptacle and allowed to create another. Once reincarnated into a new body, she immediately took flight with her majestic wings to continue her battle. She reaches towards the volcano, and from the lips of the molten rock, erupts hundreds of gallons of lava. From the ejected lava, the Lady of the Forest’s staff is released from the burial grounds of the Queen’s preceding corpse and flies faster than sound to reach her hands. Once her symbol of power is restored, she points the tip of the staff at Aria and commands, “BEGONE!” A tremendous beam of dark energy fires into the president’s body and smashes her body into the ground below.
After launching her opponent into the far distance, she looks over to survey the battlefield. From her current viewpoint she could see everything going on. She watched as her army is being slaughtered by brutal wolves and humans alike. “They will suffer. They all will be punished for their actions,” stated the Lady of the Forest with a vexed tone. She turns her attention towards her most trusted ally, and the one she believed to be the only one she could rely on in this crucial moment. Yet, she is stunned to discover Abdux having issues with a single opponent. Her surprised quickly transforms to anger. “Abdux! What do you think you are doing?! Hurry up already!” she shouted at him. Her words echo and vibrate throughout the whole forest. “The fool! My child is ready to bloom any second now, and he wastes time toying with a lowly human,” she muttered to herself. While waiting for Abdux to conclude his duel, an unfamiliar and unpleasant voice speaks from behind her, “No need to be so loud,” said a rather extremely cheerful person. Closing her eyes for a moment, she attempts to regain her composure before responding to the owner of the voice. By the time she opens her eyes, she quickly turns around, yet doesn’t spot the individual she was expecting to be there. “Truth be told, there is no need for you to do this either,” spoke the unidentified man. The tone of his last sentence lacked the glee that typically exits his throat, but his last sentence didn’t even seem to be entirely directly at the Lady of the Forest either.
“You believe this is unnecessary?” she asked without adjusting her body. “Do you think I will allow an inferior race to raid, conquer, and ruin my kind? We, who did not start this war, but have been forced to suffer far too long as victims of crimes against nature? How long before they turned their greedy eyes on these precious lands? I will not allow the would be invaders the honor of such a pure sight! For I shall not make the mistakes of so many other spirits of nature, who searched in vain to discover a mutual relationship with the materialists. I have been informed of the future, and openly oppose the destiny of destruction waiting for us with the actions I take now! I care little about the survival of such a harmful species, but curse my generosity for taking pity on the few innocents ones that exist among them. Rather then eradicate them off the face of this world, I instead opt to reform their meager existences to match that of my worshipers in the nearby villagers. Lucky for them, that they have recognized their status as my servants, and in turn I have granted their greatest desire to be become my people, which I will share to the rest of the world for I am kind to a fault .”
As the Lady of the forest ends her small speech, her only audience remember remains silent for a few seconds. But ever so gradually does he let his thoughts be known with an audible expression of amusement as he starts to crack up from the irony of the situation the Queen is unknown of. Not long after does the spectator burst into utter laughter, which fuels the Lady of the Forest’s anger. The Queen violently turns towards the source of the laughter, but again her visitor is invisible to her eyes. “Enough with the games! Reveal yourself to me!.” she demanded in a tone of voice that only a natural born leader who has been driven into madness could achieve. “You want to protect your queendom, yet you will end of being the one to end it.” remarked the unseen presence. “Its a good thing I am here to prevent your mistake.” The Queen’s face turns to a brighter shade of red as the invisible individual infuriates her by speaking in such a condescending manner to her. “MY MISTAKE! I have committed none, but you have the audacity to perform numerous mistakes in my presence. First, you hide from sight like a coward expecting to accomplish something. Next you laugh without knowing anything. What foolish shortsighted I might add, for one who hasn’t been gifted clairvoyance. Then, you assume a level of superiority with your tone! And finally, you believe you can stop me, when you are already TOO LATE! LOOK AT MY CHILD AND KNOW YOUR DEFEAT!”
The gargantuan closed bud, above the world’s tallest peduncle, starts to stir. As the massive flower begins to bloom, a greenish gas slowly emerges from the slight openings of the expanding bud. Immediately, the tree soldiers on the ground turn their attention to their leader’s greatest creation, and the one thing that will remodel the whole planet to the wishes of their Queen. Even as they are slaughter by their foes, the Queen’s soldiers no longer seem to have the will to fight back, for they, just like their monarch, considered the fracas has come to an end with the arrival of the efflorescence. “Do you comprehend the situation now?” spoke the Lady of the Forest with the ultimate pompous smile across her face. “What a wonderful sentence.” replied Osamu, who suddenly appears visible and right next to the Lady of the Forest. In response to the sudden appearance of Chase’s master, she quickly flies away from the large monk in order to establish some distance. With no regards to the Queen’s movement, the confident monk continues to speak, “I hope you don’t mind me using those words in the near future.” Ignoring the Lady of the Forest’s comments, the cenobite brings his hands towards his chest in a fashion that would be similar to a classic pray. As he hands approach closer to each other, a circle materializes on each palm, and inside the separate circles, kanji soon manifest simultaneously. The kanji on his right is the symbol for “Shield” and the kanji on his left represents the word, “Purity.”
Once his hands touch, a gigantic dome of energy is summoned at once and surrounds the whole area. At first, the dome seems to be a regular energy field with nothing special about it. That was until repeating huge Kanji begin to appear along the walls of the dome, which are the same as the ones in Osamu’s palms. As the kanji are created, a small sphere of bright bluish light emulate around the monk’s hands. Without knowing the purpose of the sphere surrounding a large portion of her forest, she immediately begins to panic about the change in scenario. “What do you think you are doing?” inquired the Lady of the Forest as she attempts to fire off another blast of energy from her staff at the hefty man. Yet, she is absolutely stupefy when her staff not only activates, but evaporites into a million tiny orbs of blueish light. “How!-“ “-Let me explain in simple terms,” said the giant monk with a straightforward inflection. “I have created a sphere with roughly a 12 Ri radius. And anything inside this space that contains any spiritual corruption will be purge.” -Though, that is not it’s only purpose.- thought Osamu. At this explanation the Lady of the Forest knew the reason for her staff’s destruction. For it contain large quantities of corrupted spirit energy. Then at the realization of the significance of his words resonant, she instantly redirects her attention back at her blooming. “Do you comprehend the situation now?” asked Osamu in humorless tone as she watches her creation no longer spawn the greenish clouds, which would have transform the world, but is now evaporating into billions upon billions of tiny blueish light balls. “You monster…” whimper the Lady of the Forest to herself as tears roll down her checks.
She changes her gaze to the eremite and screams, “I will make you suffer!” She lunges towards him with the aim to rip him to pieces for decimating her project. Yet she challenges an individual so far above her, that he registers her assault as threatening as a fly targeting a bug zapper. As she comes close to Osamu, he simply looks into her eyes and allows her to feel his true strength. As she stares into the darkness of his eyes, gravity seems to increase by 1,000,000% and she plunges to the ground. While watching her fall to the earth, the ancient monk begins to scan the area as if searching for another enemy. The shadow over his face seems to intensified as he searches for principle person that has caused this mess. He already concluded that the Lady of the forest was the secondary, or perhaps even the third, individual responsible for this near extinction of the human race, and that she has been following the orders of another. He returns his focus back on the Queen and gradually trickles down to the ground near the Lady of the Forest’s wreckage, that is to say, her broken body. As he approaches her, she starts to shake in fear. Yet, before the large man could get close to her, a remark is made behind nearby trees, “How unexpected. I thought you dead, sadly here you stand.”
For the first time in many years, the monk is caught off guard as he recognized the voice to belong to a dangerous foe. -How can there so much corruption to allow him to be here?- thought Osamu. The owner of the voice moves out of the shadows and into the light. The individual appears to be a cross between a legendary Kyuubi and an impressive man possessing both formidable size and unnatural beauty. Yet, he contain more than one combination it would seem as he dressed in the attire of both a samurai, with his heavy armor, and the white robes of religious person over his warrior’s gear. The robes however, where design to not cover and restrict his limbs, which is how one will be able to acknowledge the splendid armor he wears. The man also carries a black cloak, which rests over the mythical being’s shoulders, and attach to his hip, a sealed katana. As he walks towards the Lady of the Forest, the monk hesitates to intervene his movement right away, for he had already experience how terrible a foe this individual can be. Not an enemy beyond his power to defeat, but one that would be rather difficult to achieve victory over. However, after focusing on him carefully enough, he begins to relax slightly, which the newcomer noticed. “Osamu, you are pleased to discover that I am not at full strength?” said the Kyuubi man with a sly smile. “No, It is too be expected after all, crossing over does establish a restriction of prowess when the source of one’s substance is limited.”
“Yes, yes,” said the restricted man. “Only had you delayed your little stunt for a few more seconds, I would had plenty of ‘substance’ to be fully myself.” Osamu studies the man’s face as he searches for the anger that would appear having foiled his plan, but he saw nothing but ease on the man’s face. “Nonchalant as ever, General Almonlis. Let’s see if I can change that,” said the monk. The Lady of the Forest managed to recollect herself during the small conversation between the two long time enemies. “Enough…” she mumbled to herself as she gets back to her feet. “Enough,” she repeated, this time loud enough for the two men near her to hear, but neither seem interested in her. “I said Enough!” she yelled at the top of her lungs. The two of them looked her way from the sheer annoyance of her scream, and not due her attempt to impose her will. Seeing as the two of them didn’t take her seriously, and she too weaken from wasting most of her energy on a sabotaged child decided to call for what she believed was her greatest asset during her current situation, “ABDUX! COME TO ME!” The command was shouted from the whole forest itself, and upon hearing the Queen’s words, the demon utters a few words loud enough to be heard by Chase, “I suppose the time has come.” Then without any further delay, he proceeds to unleash a massive explosion of power to shake off his opponent in order to quickly rush to join the Lady of the Forest’s side:
Chase falls from the explosion like a miniature meteor until he crashes into the ground nearby. His body is damage too heavily for him to immediately respond with any proper conscious actions as he suffers from third degree burns, numerous broken bones, and heavy external and internal bleeding, which would have drain a regular person completely. Yet his body will delay’s death’s call, for today and work rigorously to not only secure his survival, but to revert him back into fighting condition. As the pupil heals his wounds, the master now deals with another new presence. “Good you are here,” said the Lady of the Forest as she witnessed Abdux arrival. The being of night doesn’t reply to the Queen’s words, but rather seems more interested in General Almonlis’ presence. “Abdux!” yelled the frustrated ruler, for the lack of reply or acknowledge of her recognizing him. “Do you dare insult me with silence?” she asked to him and to herself equally. “I will deal with your poor behavior later, for now you two will deal with the fat man in front of you without mercy!” she commanded. For the first time today, the grand general’s smile fades for a moment at the Lady of the Forest’s words. He finally focuses on her with the same manner that someone would look at an insect that has doomed itself by making its existence known to a being with no care for the insignificant life that bothered one above itself. One of his nine tails stretch around wraps around the Queen’s face gently as he tells her, “I knew you’re a simpleton, but I didn’t think you’ll be suicidal. But worse, you are a failure”
The Lady of the Forest turned violent at the words of Almonlis, and quickly pushes one of his magnificent tails away from her face as she curses at the man in a fit a rage that makes her incomprehensible. After suffering from her rant a bit, Almonlis spreads a dark smile over his face and she could see the danger in his eyes. “Abdux! Protect your Queen!” she yelled at the top of her voice. However the demon doesn’t obey the command, and in fact, acts in the opposite of the orders. However, the Queen was no longer able to protest as her throat is cut by a swift hand motion of the demon’s hand. As she holds her throat with a hand, her eyes stare at her attempted killer with pure hatred. She considers him an attempted killer since she believed that she would have been able to shift her soul to another location to regenerate a new body from the forest, but before she could abandon her current vessel, a sword is stab through her back and into her heart. At first she thought that this was a pointless attack as she is already preparing to leave her body behind, yet her soul does not escape as she planned, and in fact her very spirit begins to scream in agony. “It was a good thing I was watching your fight earlier, since you revealed your little trick before I dispose of you.” said the general with the cruelest of smiles. The Lady of the Forest is shocked at the prospect of a true death, yet even more surprised then her is the monk as he was able to witness the weapon that sealed her fate. -Impossible…that weapon is crafted with…- The old monk for the first time in centuries is caught completely off guard by the meaning behind the katana’s mere existence.
During Osamu’s perplexed state of mind, the general finally achieved a necessary timeframe to escape. He knew that there was more than one individual here that would be a worthy fight, and with his current handicapped, he knew the odds were against him should an altercation occur today. He reaches into his robes and retrieves a small device. A small black orb with symbols surrounding it with meanings that are foreign to this material world for thousands of years. Still paralyze by the material of the katana, the astonish monk lacks the cognition to act during this golden opportunity to stop and potentially slay a vulnerable adversary, who will no doubt prove to be a herculean labor to deal in the future should he manage to withdraw here and now. Only once the devices activates, does Osamu’s mind progress to the current ongoings occurring around him. The orb transform into a miniature black soul, which had the power to drag every spiritual being and soul well beyond the radius of the monk’s dome into itself. Soon enough, everyone would feel their soul start to abandon their bodies, and the spiritual creatures, such as the wolves, will begin to feel their atoms break apart and pulled into a portal to their original world. There were few who seem to remain perfectly fine with the presence of the portal, namely the people closest to the black hole minus the Lady of the Forest, who only remained in this world via her powerful connection to the forest.
A few seconds before the portal’s activation, a fully rejuvenate Chase emerges from the crater that he created when he fell to the earth from his opponent’s explosion. He didn’t need to look for his foe due to being able to sense his spiritual wavelength, which is similar to sonar detection. And without wasting a moment, for his Spirit Overdrive was not going to last for much longer, he rushes towards his opponent’s position. By the time he arrives at the scene, he could see his master breaking out of some confusion spell, a weird humanoid looking butterfly dying, and his assailant escaping with a fox man. While still operating at a level above his normal self, he doesn’t seem to register the affects of the portal on the world because of its lack of affect on him. Instead, he is only focused on finishing his fight. “Where the fuck do you think you are going!” yelled Chase as he attempt to blitz his foe. Yet before he could move a step, Osamu grabs him by the back of his neck, preventing him from giving attacking. “Let go of me!” demanded his pupil. But the master did not even register his words as he is required to give his whole attention to the portal. As soon as the portal was opened, he already surrendered the chance to defeat his rival. Nothing he could do now to stop his escape, but he will not relinquish the lives of those around him by allowing the portal to remove their souls to the other side.
Osamu once more places his hands together with the same kanji, yet rather than create a massive dome, he instead decreases its size to the immediate area surrounding the escapees. The sphere surrounding the portal was much more potent then the previous one, to the point of preventing the portal to influence anything outside of the dome. The general, with his almost permanent smile, performs the short bow of an actor to his audience at the end of a play and steps into the portal with the blue demon, following right behind him. As they step through the portal, the portal vanishes and signals that the retreat of two dangerous beings. Chase annoyed with his opponent’s departure, throws a punch to the ground while he was still using his Soul Overdrive mode to its fullest capabilities with his mass supply of spirit energy. The monk could see his student fist heading towards the ground and decides to create another dome around them in case an innocent was nearby that would suffer from his pupil’s outburst. As Chase’s strike the ground, the earth around them bends under the force of his blow and a smokescreen covers the interior of the dome. Ten seconds pass since the fit of temper and the master releases his hands to disperse the energy field around them. Within moments, the smoke escapes into the greater atmosphere and the damage of Chase’s anger against the earth is revealed:
Chase releases his soul overdrive and calms down a bit. After relaxing for a couple more seconds, he notices there still exist someone else besides his master and himself nearby. The Lady of the Forest, who can no longer escape death’s embrace, is ready to leave the world. He looks at her with no pity, or care, and calls to his master, “Come on. We should get out of here already.” His tone clearly indicates that he is still upset that Abdux escaped. However Osamu shakes his head and walks over to the dying queen. He seems to whisper a few words to her. Surprising enough, Chase could not make at the sentences his master was giving this dying creature as his tone was too soft and low, a feat which he thought was impossible for the boisterous man. He could only comprehend the situation with body language, which one doesn’t seem to be in the mood to display, and the other unable. Then, he finally witness the Lady of the Forest nodding her head at what he assume was a question asked by his master. Soon after the queen’s confirmation, the monk pulls out a particular piece of jewelry that he remembered from his adventures in the Valley of the Kings. His master was holding a soul shard to the ancient spirit and the soul of the manipulated queen left her vessel to reside in the shard. With the spirit of the queen now inside the shard, the jewelry’s hue shift from pure white to dark green. Osamu walks over to Chase and hands him the shard containing the Lady of the Forest. “Give this to Smith and commission him to create a useful tool from it,” said the monk.
“And where should I store it until then?” remarked Chase with a sarcastic tone. “If you haven’t noticed, I barely even have enough of my pants to cover my dick.” The monk’s face returns to his usual demeanor of gleeful smiles and looks. He makes a simple hand motion over his pupil, and his attire was repair. Meanwhile, throughout the battlefield, as the Lady of the Forest was absorbed into the soul shard, her armies begin to disappear into the forest with no desire for revenge for their fallen monarch. Every tree solider, from the largest to the smallest retreated back into the soil and the forest. In a few minutes, nothing remains of the army and only the victors are left. With another casual hand wave, Osamu teleports everyone back to the hill that Chase and Eve arrived at when they first appeared in this part of the world. Thankful the hill is large enough to contain both the humans and the wolves. The monk turns his attention to everyone who appeared to be injured, especially Eve. He carefully goes by each one and offers them a quick recovery with his simple kanji that contain so much power over the world around him. As his master takes care of the collateral damage, Chase decides to settle down on the grass and look up to the sky as he finally gets a chance to collect his thoughts.

Eve could have sworn she missed something, because her opponent found itself splattered on the ground. A couple explosions later, she was still lost. What the hell was going on? Eve didn't even quite understand it when she was healed. "Okay... somebody explain." She rubbed her head, looking for her hat. Stephan stared near her. "I saw something... but it was just a blur. It horrified my Nucleus." He could feel the Nucleus reeling from the spot the blur had passed, some instinctive fear deep in its core tugging at his own mind. He shuddered. He lived, but with what the Nucleus feared, that didn't seem to be for the good of the world.

The Lady of the Forest's blast caught Aria off guard, sending her flying down and crashing against the ground below, creating a small crater that caused a few nearby trees to collapse. Fortunately, there was still a significant amount of sunlight still stored up in Aria's body, so the wounds of the fall healed within seconds of them appearing. Leaping back to her feet, the HWIC president could sense a strange new presence with the Lady of the Forest now...one that was stronger than she was in this state. Leaping up into the air, Aria grows a small wooden platform high up for her to stand on and watch the meeting from afar, taking note of the strange man that had suddenly appeared along with Osamu and the Lady. She watched on as the Lady was speared through with a sword, followed by everyone being teleported back onto the hill that they had arrived on.
The HWIC agents had already been sent back by Alex and his portals when the fight between Chase and Abdux started, so there were only a few agents still left to mill about. Alex was already holding Erin's unconscious body up by a few chains coming out of the ground, while Aria went around talking to the few remaining agents that hadn't yet been portaled out of the area, stopping next to Stephen. "Report. What happened with your group's operation?" Aria asked, looking Stephen in the eyes. A faint glow still lingered around Aria's body as the last of the excess solar energy radiated off, but she had more important matters to attend to than explain that right now.

Osamu finishes up healing everyone except for one girl being suspended in chains. He slowly approaches Alex and Erin with a friendly smile on his face. "Please, allow me," he said with a surprising amount of kindness. He places his hand over Erin's and a few kanji begin to appear over her body. Not only did he heal her, but he also gives her the command to awaken. As her eyes gradually open up, he offers a polite farewell bow to Alex before walking back to the top of the hill to find his student lying on the grass.
Without opening his eyes, Chase asks his master, "Who were those guys?" The ancient monk face seems to softly deflate upon hearing the question. "This isn't the time to explain-" "-Soon then," said the student with an almost commanding tone behind his voice. With a fake smile on his face he replies back to his clearly upset apprentice, "When the time is right." He opens his eyes and stares at the old man with an unbelievable amount of bloodlust, but the master could tell that the killing intent isn't directed to him. "Tell me the truth, are they related to person who took my soul?" The giant man takes a moment to think about his next words carefully. In the end, he decided to answer him with a single word, "Yes." Chase slowly closes his eyes as he tries to control his rage. He didn't need Osamu to elaborate. Whoever was pulling the strings here, is the same person that robbed him of his previous life. Regardless, there was nothing he could do now, and he gently calms down.
After returning to a more relax mindset, he sits up and surveys the small crowd around him. He knew about some of the top hidden world organizations for the longest time now, especially the HWIC. But he never really cared about them, and even thought they were overrated group of weaklings. But getting a chance to see them in action, even he couldn't help but respect them a little bit now. But before he could stand up, a few spirit wolves begin to stride towards his position until a few of them circle around his body. The creatures are acting on instinct, and their instincts are telling them that this individual is a threat. As they cut off any escape routes, the wolves start to grow at the blond man with clear hostility. The leader of the wolf pack, Aria's familiar, perhaps the largest wolf in the whole world, is preparing to pounce and destroy Chase.
Osamu studies their behavior and knew that they are reacting this way due to the recent activates of the Mark of Chaos. "What gifted sprits," he thought. "They can perceive the danger in advance." The monk seemly vanishes and reappears next to the HWIC president. "Madam, I recommend you send your familiar, and his pack back to the spirit world now, otherwise I fear things will get a bit more messy. You see, even with the battle over, they are still amped up from the previous battle, and won't hesitate for too long to attack anyone that might seem dangerous to them."

Glad for the help of the wolves, Eve caught up to Chase. "So, I think you owe me my pay." Eve pulled a notepad from a coat pocket. "Let's see, you promised me enough to cover my expenses. So we're starting with $3000. Then you said that enough would be left over to totally renovate the offices. That would be at least $5000. But if I recall correctly, I could also buy a new place. Screw $5000, you owe me at least $200000 on top of expenses. Or hell, a couple million. I want a nice place." She showed him her extensive notes. It was unclear when she had taken all these down. "So take me to this apparent rich guy or I'm holding you accountable." She crossed her arms and glared at him.
"There's a lot to tell, mam. I'd rather get back to HQ for a proper debriefing." Steven couldn't begin to explain half the things that had happened here right now. "All I can say right now is... we should arrest that man." Steven pointed through the throng of wolves to point out Halwende Chase.

Erin slowly began to wake up as Alex used his chains to pull her body into a portal to the HWIC base. He didn't feel like explaining everything to his sister right now, especially when there was more important issues that needed to be dealt with. Meanwhile, Aria nodded at Stephen's request, turning to face Chase and the spirit wolves that were all looking at the man, ready to pounce at any moment. Holding her hand up in a 'halt' motion, Aria made her way over to Chase, still having one of her pistols drawn. "You two. I would like you both to stay and provide a statement of what happened. I saw how you were fighting that demon on your own, and how you were with the leader of the monsters before she somehow died. We need details on what exactly happened." Aria states to them both, not slowing a sign of weakness. She needed to know how this large man managed to kill a being that even her strongest form couldn't fully defeat.

Chase looks at the wolves, then Eve, and finally Aria. Sighing to himself and wondering what he has done to deserved all this unnecessary attention. "Don't you think having your pistols out is a bit much?" After all he is already surrounded by a massive wolf pack and a bunch of her men. However, if anyone is thinking that Chase and Osamu were a going to be hostile in return, one look at his master, who is playfully acting surprise by the inquisition, would make someone realize very quickly that isn't going to be the case. Turning his attention to Eve, he started to see how she is able to boss Huntsman around. A small, yet genuine, smile spreads across his face as he tells her, "I got to take care of this first. And before you lose your shit, just know that I'll make sure you'll get your money." he finishes with a cold lied as he isn't very sure he will be able to convince Smith to pay her. Still, he imagine if they ever need her services again, Smith will be forced to pay her for today. Which means he won't have to take care of the bill...again.
Returning his focus back on the HWIC president, he slowly walks up to her with no intention to intimidate, but his general attitude seems to say he was going to be difficult. As he steps forward, the spirit wolves' growling continue to raise as they begin to step closer to his position. Their behavior could not be explain by any desire to protect Aria, rather they are ready to rip him to pieces out of instinctive fear. The only wolf that is still acting with some resemblance to rational thinking is their leader, who's prepared to intervene to protect both its master and the pack. "So you want a detailed explanation of what happened? Well, I followed Mr. Chains over there-" he said as he points at Alex, "-and we ended up fighting a tree man, who got killed by a big blue guy, and at some point, I decided to let the big blue guy have it. But before I could turn the demon into a puddle of blood, it escaped." After a few seconds he pretended to be forgetful and added, "Oh, yeah, at some point I helped killed some monster that was about to rip your little precious solider over there in half. Don't worry, if he is too scared to thank me in person, you can tell him that I accept thank you cards. Just make sure that its attach to a bottle of wine, and I'll gladly accept-"
Before Chase could add another word, Osamu smashes his head into the ground in such a way that it makes him appear to be apologizing on his hands and knees. "Please accept my foolish student's apologetic bow." said the monk with a friendly facial expression. "Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to address anybody with respect." With a tone and attitude of a disappointed parent, he declares softly, "As his master, it shames me to have such a rude apprentice." A few disagreeing and irritated mumbles could be heard underneath the palm of his hand, but the large man ignores his pupil as he continues to engage with Aria with a return to his happy demeanor, "I will gladly explain the situation to the best of my ability, but before I do-" His tone adds a slight layer of seriousness, "-I do think it would be best to first release the wolves back into their own world." During the conversation, the spirit wolves had continue to slowly approached. Now, the closest wolves are nearly ten feet away from Chase, and considering their sizes, ten feet is practically nothing for these gigantic creatures. A few even begin to bend their knees and a split second away from leaping forward, regardless of Aria being within their collateral damage range.

"Well don't keep me waiting too long. I'll be adding interest and you already owe me at least 2 million. I'll work out the exact details while you chat with Aria." Eve furiously scribbled on her notepad. "Mam, he made my Nucleus reel. I say we should at least take him in for further questioning. That sort of power is a threat to the whole world." Aria would know well that only a sparse few things could bring that reaction from the Nucleus. The old runner of the HWIC was one.

He 'helped kill some monster that was about to rip her precious soldier in half'? Just who was he referring to, there were dozens of agents that fought in this battle. Regardless, his explanation was lacking in detail, so they would still need the two of them to come back to the headquarters and issue a formal statement. "...very well. Send your pack away, I have this situation under control now." She firmly commands the alpha wolf, looking directly up at it. Just what was making these creatures act up like they were?
Looking back toward Chase and Osamu, Aria continues. "We will still need to ask you both to come with us to our headquarters, so we may get a full statement as to what happened. Alex can teleport us there, as he did with all my other agents. Are you ready to leave?" She asks, motioning toward a portal Alex had open only a few meters away.

Osamu shakes his head, "Sadly, I must head somewhere else. But if all you require is what had happened around us...." The monk places his palm against his own head and a kanji appears. A split second later a small light blue bubble emerges from the opposite side of his head. He softly grabs the floating bubble with the tips of his fingers and offers it to Aria. "Gently place your forehead against this object, and you will be able to see what I have seen and heard today; however, you will be unable to experience the thoughts I had." He proceeds to repeat the same process to Chase and offers his memory bubble to them. With this the HWIC will be able to see and hear all the events that the two of them witness today, but they will be unable to know their thoughts as the bubble didn't contain that information. Thus, Chase's internal struggle with the resident of the Mark of Chaos will remain unknown to them, as well as Osamu's insight behind the people responsible for this forest's corruption.
"Now, that I have given you what you wished for, do a favor for me." He turns his head to Iris's position and asks, "Let me know what she discovers. And, commission her to create a tool that will be able to locate the same Corruption that affected this area." He scoops his apprentice with a single hand and begins to walk away without getting a confirmation from Aria since he trusted the HWIC president to fulfill his request. As Chase struggles to break free from Osamu's grip, he starts to curse at the him, which the master responds by knocking him out with a quick hammer fist. He takes a few more steps away from the group, but takes stops once he is an arm's reach away from Eve and slowly looks down in order to stare her right in the eye as if trying to read her inner most thoughts. He couldn't help but feel an invisible, yet incredible weight on her shoulders "You best be careful." And with that, he teleports away with Chase.
Many Months later…
“Why the fuck I’m I doing this?” complained a sweaty and shirtless Chase, who is climbing the side of a monstrous cliff with one hand tied behind his back. His current attire consists of a ruin pair of pants. Yet, his pants, which have become long shorts at this point, is not the only thing that is has been damage. His entire body is covered with numerous scars and bruises. As he climbs he couldn’t help feel that he isn’t making any progress. He started hours ago, but the top is still no where in sight. “How is that even possible?” he thought. Suddenly he hears the sound of someone snacking on chips, and the rage building up inside of him explodes, “STOP EATING OR GO SOMEWHERE ELSE YOU FATASS!” As he shouted, he momentarily loses his grip and slides down serval dozen meters against the surface of the rock, which scrap huge portions of his skin off his expose chest and stomach areas before he manages to grabs a ledge and stops his momentum.
His master hovers slowly down to his position while continuing to eat a bag of potato chips with his legs crossed. Chase could tell Osamu is enjoying this. “There better be a point behind this then just being your entertainment.” The old man chuckles. “I fucking hate you.” He prepares to use more spirit energy to boost his strength in an attempt to climb faster. However, the monk swiftly moves his hand, and the Kanji for “Tall ” appears in the air causing the side of the cliff to increase in height faster than his student could climb it. After a minute, a worn out rests to catch his wind. “I hate repeating myself, but if you try to use any unnecessary amount of spirit energy to climb this cliff, I will continue to increase its height.” “This training is complete bullshit! I shouldn’t be wasting time with this, but focusing on learning how to use my new Soul Link Weapon!” Shaking his head, he asks Chase a simple question, “Do you know what you are doing wrong?”
“Having you as a master?” “Well, besides lacking in comedic skill, you also lack the ability to properly control spirit energy. Whether it be your consumption or your usage. Your first issue is that you don’t know how to intake souls properly.” He looks down to the ground as he explains, “Think of a plant, who is absorbing the energy from sunlight. Now, think of an animal eating the plant. Perhaps you didn’t know this, but the majority of the energy the plant gets from the sun will not transfer over to the animal that eats the plant. In fact, it gets roughly 10% of the energy contain in the plant, which the plant had gathered from the sun.” “I don’t see the point of this science lesson…” “Well, without getting too complex, let me say there are natural limitations why the animal can not gain 100% of the energy contain in a plant. But you are a different. You have the potential to use 100% of the spirit energy contain in a soul you consume, but without having mastery over the black hole that lies at your spiritual center, it is wastefully consuming too much of the total spirit energy from each soul.”
“Hang on….are you telling me that I’m not able to use 100% of the spirit energy from a soul?” asked Chase in confusion. “Yes, because you lack the ability to store the spirit energy for yourself. It is difficult to explain, but essentially your goal should be to pull all the spirit energy from a soul, which orbits around the black hole, as oppose to just being sucked directly into it. As you are right now, you are most likely are storing less than 1% of the spirit energy from each individual soul you are collecting.” For a moment the soulless man is speechless as he couldn’t believe what he is hearing. “So why didn’t you bring this up to me sooner?” “Because I can’t help you to control the black hole soul, I can only help you learn to control the spirit energy you are able to maintain after gaining a soul. Which comes to the second issue you have. You don’t know how to manage your spirit energy to be efficient. Tasks that require a tiny amount of spirit power to perform, you instead use way too much, which can even produce a weaker result than the one you are aiming for. Let alone the fact that if you are not collecting souls, you can end up drain rather quickly. And then you will become as fragile as a newborn.”
Gesturing to the side of the cliff with his hand, not the one holding the bag of chips, he continues, “And hence why you are doing this exercise. You could climb this much faster with the right amount of spirit energy, but you instead op to use more, thinking that is the best way to improve your ability. But such a mindset will lead you to become sloppy with your spirit energy and make you unable to use it to its full capabilities.” “Alright, I get it. Not sure why you can’t tell me that stuff at the beginning.” He starts to climb up again, this time thinking about his movements with much more attention and being careful with the amount of spirit energy he is using. Though he is improving slowly, Osamu increases the height of the cliff a couple of more times as Chase is still using too much. Some time pass before the monk left him alone.
It takes Chase another 10 hours before he could finally climb to the top of the cliff. By then he had almost run out of spirit energy. In his current state he is as strong as any regular human. As he pulls his legs over the end he collapses. As he lays on the top of the cliff, exhausted and with immense pain over his entire body, he couldn’t help but ponder over a question that has been bothering him since Osamu informed him of his black hole earlier. When he turns around, he is greeted by the image of his master cooking meat over a warm fire. “Perfect. You made it here just in time.” The two men eat together as the sun sets behind their backs. Once they finished their dinner, Osamu rubs his oversized belly with pride. Chase on the other hand doesn’t make a sound or movement for a while. Noticing his apprentice’s unusual behavior the master decides to indulge him. “If you have something you want to ask me, go ahead.”
“When you told me that I wasn’t using 100% of the spirit energy I am collecting, and that I am storing less than 1%, I can’t help but wonder where the rest of the spirit energy goes to.” Osamu looks at him with sympathy. “Not only that. For the longest time now I have been wondering what happens to the souls that I have been consuming.” The old monk turns away from him, yet Chase knew he is still paying attention to every word coming out of his mouth. “Tell me the truth. Have I been helping out the bastard who took my soul?” The light of the sun fades from their side of the world, and the darkness emerges to engulf them.
