-Are you sure you thought this through Master Fukuma? - Crow inquired trying to make sense of Reiji’s words. –Mother Nature isn’t a force one should play with, it can be dangerous.- The Gunslinger also looked around, using a very subtle version of his “Eco” technique trying to locate Gen. –And I should ask… where is Gen? I haven’t seen him around here, I wanted to check on his wounds before we started all of this. - But as he talked Reiji lifted his hand to silence him.
-My disciple is in a chamber inside the mountain, is locked from inside, as the ritual, that I can assure you is harmless, needs a very particular preparation that is already in motion.- The Old Master turned to the others. –The Relics will choose you, at least that was what the man who obtained them for me said.- Once again a lie about the origin, but not about the inner workings of the Gainen Medals.
Reiji flipped the case open, flinging the medals up into the air, spinning and shining under the rays of the sun. All of them suddenly stopped mid-air, levitating and after shuffling their positions fell on the group. The Medals floated in front of the group with energy bubbles around them.
• Dan Drake received the Heiwa Medal (Peace) (White) • Sid Renen received the Shougeki Medal (Impact) (Blue) • Jose Hernandez received the Doku Medal (Poison) (Green) • Goemon Williams received the Netsu Medal (Heat) (Red) • Crow Cementerio received the Kami Medal (God) (Golden)
The sixth medal, Hokugun, returned to Reiji’s palm, as it already had an owner… Gen Shishioh.
Only Crow and Sid would feel something from the Medals… but it wasn’t too late for the others to develop some sort of affinity if they had the potential too or maybe they hadn’t any possibility to synch up, only time would tell.
Reiji threw a map to each of them. –Please, go to this position in the map, you will find a small shrine, there you must put the Medal when you see the red flare I will shoot from the mountain.- He showed three flare guns. –Red is for starting, Blue will indicate that we reached the mid-point and thus the dangerous situations may start and finally Green is for you to remove the relics.- He looked at them with bone crushing intensity. –You must remove the relic the moment you see the Green Flare, or we could really cause a mess.-
Yami was frankly fascinated… Callis Nomene, an interdimensional traveler that was stranded in this world, currently working for the BHA was unconscious on his uncle island. But that wasn’t what surprised the Half-Gainen, as thanks to his powers he could see much more. Just like his father Yami’s powers were about (EN/縁) meaning he had a natural affinity to anything sharp, being literal or figurative sharpness.
This ability allowed him to see people under a different light, he could see traces of swords, and he could gauge their affinity and skill with bladed weapons and more. Callis was lit up like a Christmas Tree. The Beast Knight had enough wounds by bladed weapons to kill a dozen men. His callous hands exuded the skill of a swordsman who trained to his utmost limits and over. But there was something more shocking to Yami.
Besides Callis’ hips two ghostly images hanged from his belt. The swords of the Beast Knight, lost in Orasul Sange, were still in spirit with their owner, as seemingly the weapons were almost a part of Callis, or better put Callis still thought of said weapons as part of himself. Maybe that’s why he couldn’t get to get new ones, even if they were better than his original blades. His hands, so accustomed to the metallic grips couldn’t hold any other blade comfortably.
Finally he stopped gawking in awe and helped the Beast Knight up, sitting him against a tree. –Are you alright?- He asked while shaking the Knight from the shoulders. This didn’t generate any response from Callis, who was still out. -Goddamnit… I can’t let him here alone… and I might need help to stop my uncle and whoever he hired.- And without thinking it twice the raised his hand to prepare a slap to wake up Callis. –Sorry, but I need you awake.- He said in an apologetic tone as he aimed his slap.

Dan was briefly disoriented by the medals simply taking off into the air. The strangeness of the hidden world was still surprising at times. He didn't understand the kanji on this one, so he had no idea what it actually said. It didn't matter really. He caught the map and looked it over. It didn't really look like he was going to train here after all, and now he was even splitting off from the people he knew and those he didn't. He internally sighed. Great. Looks like he wasn't making many friends here. At least it was an easy enough task. Even he could remember these simple instructions. He glanced from his map to the horizon, getting a vague grasp of where he needed to go. It shouldn't take too long. He gave a quick wave to the others and charged off.

Jose had no clue what medal he had received and nor did he feel any special attraction to the object. Yet, by how Reiji described them, he was not going to dare underestimate their importance. After listening to the great master's instructions, Jose begins to look around to find the best possible route to travel and begins to move towards his location. Taking two steps forward he turns to face Goemon and offer him a few words, "Good luck and be careful." said Jose in a calm voice. Jose didn't want to consider the task ahead to be an easy one. It sounded simple enough to follow, but from his experience everything was usually easier said than done.
Jose starts to walk again to his assign location and once he was a few hundred meters from the others he turns his head to look back for a quick second with the thoughts him learning more about this Ki business. He was also in general excited about the training he will receive form the the legendary master after all this was over. He was sure that the training was going to be a huge step towards his goals and would be the perfect momentum to launch his career forward. Closing his eyes and turning to look forward again, Jose pushes away the thoughts about the latter future and tries to only focus at his mission at hand.

Scratching the back of his head at the explanation, Sid shrugs his shoulders as he catches the medal. He could definitely feel power coming from the object, giving a small smile as he places it in his pocket. Just a few minutes into this place, and he already had something to improve his skills. After looking over the map and using the volcano as a reference point, Sid nods at Reiji. "Alright dude, I'll be there in a bit. Then we can deal with the spooky scary monsters that may come out."
Sprinting off into the forest, Sid holds out the map to see where he was going. If training was going to be this easy, Sid was going to love being a student here. Much easier than having to do daily sparring at Inazuma. Inazuma...fuck he still had homework to do. Perhaps if he helped Gen out here, they'd be easier on him. Feeling the medal in his pocket once more, he could feel his legs growing in power as he manipulated his ki with the medal. If this thing was going to be anything like Gen's that he saw in Alcatraz, this was going to be a very, very fun night.

THE RITUAL
Crow held the medal that floated towards him with a tight grip he then loosen his hand and looked down at the medal. He couldn’t understand the kanji on the medal but for some strange reason he felt like the answer was on his tongue. Nothing ever felt more right then holding this some coin like medal in his hand. However the Gunslinger did not have time to idly wonder about some medal he just received. He glanced down at his map and the location he would be at, if this ritual would help Gen Crow would do it after all he had promised Rin that he would keep the Hot Head safe. “No problem Master Fukuma. Whenever my Gramps would speak about you he did with high regard. I trust that you know and are highly capable of handling such a ritual.” The Gunslinger was one of the last to leave the hut after he watched the others going off towards the respective spots. Crow couldn’t help but wonder if it was chance that they were drawn to this island or had the winds of fate brought them here for a purpose. He gave his medal a flip before catching it and placing inside his jacket by his heart. It was time to get moving.
Crow maneuvered through the vast jungle following his map as best as he could he was in a hurry so that he was on time but he didn’t feel the need to keep his guard up after all it seemed that Reiji had removed any unwanted visitors. He went over the ritual procedure again and again in his head and while messing with Mother Nature was never a good idea it was far from world threatening. It seemed like the JHWAB was over reacting (yet again). To send highly at least one skillful agent to intercept visitors to Sakurajima in order to stop this ritual was excessive, yet Crow was worried about one thing the possible dangerous situation. As somewhat of an expert in Natural Energy the idea that Nature may react violently to being manipulated against it will was not an uncommon idea however with this island holding an abundance of NE the reaction could be even more violent than normal. The Gunslinger stopped himself in his track speaking out loud to himself. “Gramps and Master Fukuma knew each other and seemed to be on good terms. I owe to my grandfather to trust a man he was friend with if it means saving one of my friends.” Crow continued moving forward towards his destination, he also had personal stakes in this ritual should it be completed successfully than perhaps he will finally be able to speak with Master Fukuma about the Gunslinger and his grandfather leading him to another clue.

Each of the volunteers would find, if they followed the map correctly, a small stone shrine, composed by a cylindrical boulder with a complex and intricate carving resembling the entrance of a temple. Inside it there was a slot with the exact size of the medal. Over the top of the shrine there was a small timer, which read around 2:00 and was counting down, signaling when they should place the medals.
Jose’s shrine was in the middle of a clearing in a small thicket of bamboo, Goemon was in a rocky area, a cliff over the sea. Crow’s shrine was in the midst of a thick forest, while Sid’s was in a ravine, besides a river. Dan would surely the shrine last as it was in one of the extremes of the island, in a small isle, almost just a sand bank with some earth and a single solitary tree. Reiji entered the cave inside the Volcano, reaching the doorway to the chamber were Gen was.
The bamboo thicket was extremely dense, blocking the view around it, almost as if whoever was in the clearance was isolated from the rest of the world, a single room with bamboo walls and the slowly graying skies as ceiling.
The rocky cliff was the stuff that manly dreams are made off, like the perfect place to stand during a sunset considering a large decision. Even the foam of the massive waves reached the top, spraying the shrine during each crash.
The forest was composed by pine trees and the floor was slightly sandy, forming dunes all around the shrine. The pine needles populated the floor, forming a soft mat that surely would reduce the pain of falling, but made the footing a bit loose.
The ravine extended from nearby the base of the mountain and crossed towards the north, volcanic rocks on both sides and some vegetation in the rocky shores of the river. The water was unnaturally warm, as it came from a natural spring heated by the magma under the island.
The isle was almost perfectly circular; at least the sand part, the interior of the circle was disrupted by a bit of irregular earth, with carefully trimmed grass. Surely Reiji used this calm spot of the island as a meditation spot, since the waves only crashed on the cliffs, far away. The wind swayed the bamboo thicket… moving side to side with sinister rhythm… The waves crashed against the rocky cliff… a deafening rumbling following each impact… The leaves whispered as they fell from the trees… spirits protesting the unnatural events about to happen? The water gurgled over the pebbles at the bottom of the river… like the stream the events about to happen seem to be unstoppable… The sand shifted around the isle, shifting and changing places thanks to the sea… waves swirling away from the island, as if even the powerful ocean was scared of what was about to happen… They had a little while to prepare for what was about to happen… and little knowledge about it as well… -WAKE UP!- He connected a second slap, this time with his backhand. Yami was ready to launch a third but one of Callis hands bolted to grab his wrist while the other clutched the Half-Gainen windpipe. In the same movement the Beast Knight stood up, doing it from a position that would be impossible for a regular human, or even an Olympic Acrobat, as his bone structure was different from a human’s. -I would ask you, with purest intent, that you stop slapping me Mes…- He made a pause inviting Yami to present himself. –Yami…- The Half-Gainen struggled to speak with the hand closed on his throat. -Mes Yami…- Callis breathed heavily and his tone changed, less bestial and more like him, gentler and humbler. -I hope you can forgive me for this situation, but my body tends to have a mind of its own when I am under duress, and considering my current state.- He looked at himself covered in wounds. –So excuse my rudeness.- The Beast Knight released his steely grip and noticed that the palms of his hand were filled with small cuts. -Sorry Nomene-san, but my body also reacts on its own. - Yami rubbed his neck as he talked, getting Callis attention as he knew his name. -Do you know me Mes Yami? - Asked the Beast Knight trying to remember if he meets the Half-Gainen before. -I’m a member of the JHWAB Nomene-san, I’m Reiji Fukuma’s nephew and…- The Half-Gainen started explaining but Callis raised his guard instantly, even wounded and tired he could keep fighting, Yami took an instinctive step backwards. -Calm down, I’m not here to help him… I’m here to stop him. - The Half Gainen spoke honestly and the Knight didn’t have trouble believing the JHWAB Agent. –He is about to do something very dangerous and I need your assistance to stop him, you’re under JHWAB contract right now, consider me the new agent in point.- Callis thought for a second about Yami’s words and to him every checked out. – I agree with your proposal, yet I must inform you that your uncle has employed at least 2 individuals to help him, I can smell them.- The Beast Knight rubbed his knuckles. –One is called Sid Renen, and I tried to stop him, but I was routed. The other is Crow Cementerio, a fellow BHA agent I meet him during Orasul Sange.--I know Cementerio, never heard of Renen, but if my uncle is planning to do the ritual I fear he will do then he will at least have 3 more to help him.- Yami’s eyes narrowed. –We will have to take them all.--I do not wish to be pessimist Mes Yami, but I barely managed to hold my own against one of them, how are we going to beat them all?- Callis raised a basic strategic concern. -I’ll use what my uncle taught me long time ago when you are fighting against the odd you need to do two things.- Callis looked at Yami inquiring about what he said. –What would those things be Mes Yami?-Without adding a word Yami swung his hand in a diagonal line in front of Callis, almost mimicking a blade. The Beast Knight felt his body getting lighter and half of the wounds he suffered while fighting Sid vanishing. He looked at himself confused as Yami smirked. -You have to fight smartly, yes… but more importantly if life kicks you down you punch it in the nuts…- His eyes shined with mischievous intent. – You cheat Nomene-san, that’s how you fight if you’re in a difficult spot.-
Both started walking, guided by Callis’ nose, who was a bit uneasy after hearing Yami’s plan, but at least it was a plan and he was grateful of being healed at least a bit. The Half Gainen didn’t seem keen to reply about how did he heal Callis so the Knight didn’t push the question. -Are you ready Rin? My prívate jet won’t wait all day…- Yuriko made a pause and then added. –Now that I think about it can wait all day… it’s mine… well never mind that Old Man Fukuma said we could meet Gen-aniki today, maybe he is feeling better.- Yuriko Kazegawa, the Fist Mistress was dressed in a trekking outfit, with sturdy mountain boots and comfortable pants. Rin Shishioh came out from the car and with the help of an attendant carried a small trunk. –Sorry Yuriko-san, I needed to bring some stuff that belongs to Gen, he has some interesting items on his Inazuma flat… I didn’t knew he kept mementos of his adventures. - She showed a piece of metal shaped like the tip of a pickaxe. – He never told me about it… he had a soft side…-Rin smile brought a bit of joy to Yuriko, who hadn’t seen her friend smile in a long time. –We better get goin’, he surely is waiting… I’m takin’ some of the premium grade beef he always chomped down when your… family visited.- Yuriko saw the shadow of pain in Rin’s face and quickly apologized. –Sorry, I didn’t want to rub salt on fresh wounds…-The youngest Shishioh recuperated her composure quickly. –Don’t worry, what happened is in the past, we need to focus on the future. I hope Gen can show me around Inazuma when he gets okay… I think I’ll apply there next year.- It was Yuriko’s time to smile as she hugged her friend and squealed with glee. -The three of us are goin’ to have so much fun… we could make a Sento no Han and beat people up!- Yuriko talked very cheerfully as both boarded the plane. Still Rin couldn’t dispel an eerie feeling inside her heart… maybe something was wrong, Reiji sounded worried through the phone, as if he was about to do something dangerous… They are all going to die you know… That crazy old man is going to kill everything in the island and the whole world…
You don’t know that, the old fart is many things but he isn’t an idiot… I… fuckin’ trust him…
You trust him? What kind of corny bullshit is that kid? Don’t make me think twice about giving you my power.
Who wants your fuckin’ power, you fuckin’ piece of shit! I bet you don’t do any fuckin’ thing
I don’t? You don’t know what you’re saying kid, without me you would have died years ago…
Yeah! Go fuck yourself!
I saved your ass in that excuse of battlefield in Osaka, the shitty one with all the rules, I saved you 3 times, I saved it again in Kobe and I saved it again in Osaka and in Romania! Without me you would be worm food.
Fuck you! Who fuckin’ asked you for help! I could have dealt with those fuckers on my fuckin’ own!
Yeah and the sky will turn purple and milkshakes will rain down from up above… grow up kid, you are a brawler with some talent… you’re no warrior… I can turn you into a real warrior, the kind that fights for the sake of fighting, just like in the good old days, only with bigger and meaner enemies than school delinquents…. What do you say?
I told you before… FUCK YOU! I fought for the sake of fuckin’ fightin’ before, but Imma not that fuckin’ guy anymore… I don’t want to be that fuckin’ guy anymore…
If I had a mouth I would barf right now kid… Did the old man get you? The good ol’ Fukuma brainwash!
No… maybe yes… but that’s not the fuckin’ point… that’s not it… Look were fightin’ for the nothin’ got me… talkin’ to a fuckin’ medal… FUCK YOU!
You will regret this choice kid… you will…when everybody you know ends up dead.

Dan burst from the forest and skidded to a stop. Running at full speed was a hell of a rush. As he breathed deeply, attempting to slow his heart, he looked at his surroundings. It was a lonely and beautiful spot. Some might stop and enjoy the scenery, but for Dan it just struck him with how isolated it was. The high cliffs behind him, the utterly desolate beach petering out to a little island with a lone tree. It just made him anxious. He was alone a lot, and sometimes the isolation got to him. Here it was nearly instant.
He walked to the end of the beach, putting his bare feet in the water. His eyes flickered across the ocean, watching the heavy clouds reflected in it. Looked like a storm. Normally he preferred that, but here it was just oppressive. His hand clutched the metal tight, taking no comfort in the oddly warm metal. There it was, the shrine. He stepped from the water onto wet sand, looking up at the tree shading the shrine. As his eyes moved down, the timer was jarring. It was out of place. A sign that modern civilization existed where no other was. It would help if it weren't for that steady crawl to zero.
He sat and folded into a cross-legged position facing the shrine. He hated these moments when he had nothing to do but think. Anxiety was bad. Calm was the avatar state. He was lonely, not just here but in general. He was bored. He wished he could have brought a book or phone. Did Crow and Haruko actually like him or just tolerate him out of pity? God dammit, there he went on Haruko. He stared at the timer and tried to clear his mind, but on and on the thoughts twirled in their endless storm in his troubled mind.

Jose eventually finds himself at a different section of the island that seem to be a bit more unique than most other areas on the island, where there was a numerous number of tall bamboo that have seem to been place together so tightly that it was able to successfully block of the outside world and establishing a tiny plot of scacred space. The young man couldn't see any details beyond the bamboo from the outside as the large number of bamboo practically form a wall without a big enough gap to see anything between the bamboo.
Still, even without not being able to see what lies pat the bamboo wall, he could feel something important about this place. The earth around his feet was almost encouraging him to explore further. Searching for the best path to take, he makes his way around the bamboo as Jose was a person who didn't want to ruin the beauty of the place by trying to go through the bamboo with force.
Soon enough he found a natural looking path that leads him to a clearance. Once he enters, he immediately stops when he notices a stone shrine at the center of this elaborate setting. Regardless if this scenery was natural or manmade didn't really affect the overall elegance of this part of the island. It would have probably been one of the most peaceful environments that Jose had ever step in if it wasn't for the fact that he was on a rather important assignment. Still, he couldn't help but to appreciate the sight for a little while.
Too bad the sky wasn't letting any light in. He watches as the grey clouds cover the skies. I suppose a storm is coming soon enough. On that mental note, he begins to walk forward and walks into the stone shrine. As he approaches closer, he can make out the intense and impressive details that went to making the shrine. Everything from the structure go the whole thing to the individual detailed carvings on the walls was all extremely complex and refined. The whole shrine appears before him to be only an entrance way to something much greater.
Then he discovers on the surface a small hole that was the perfect size to squeeze the medal that he received from the great master into. Taking the medal out of his somewhat ruin coat, he holds the metal in his hands as he again tries to make out the meaning of the word on the medal and even trying to understand the medal itself. But before he could really try to grasp at the medal in his hands, his eyes shift to look at the timer and notices that it was a countdown.
Assuming the obvious here, he knew he was going to have to place the medal into the slot when the time was right. No longer trying to figure out the medal, Jose patiently waits for his moment to place the medal inside the slot of the shrine. As the seconds go by, the world seems to slow down. As if it was holding its breath for a while before whatever important was going to happen soon happens.

Casually walking to the edge of the ravine, Sid peers down at the chasm below. Not too high up, the river seemed to be at a manageable level that he wouldn't have to swim to the shrine. But...how exactly should he go about getting down there? Climbing down would be a pain...and he can't just dive into a river that, likely, isn't that deep. Beginning to absentmindedly pace along the edge, Sid's mind begins to wander. How come that cowboy dude was here? Sid hadn't seen him since Osaka, where both of them fought a scary-looking dude that needed to get the stick of of his ass. Arrogant prick. Continuing to walk along the edge, Sid begins to think of what else happened in Osaka...
Until the edge gave way. Shit.
Doing a quick somersault, Sid just avoids bashing his head against the rock wall and proceeds to free fall toward the ground below. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, this isn't good! But at that moment, luck was on Sid's side. A small ledge jutted out of the rock wall, which Sid crashes into with enough force to break it off and stay on, making the rock as a makeshift surfboard. He rides it all the way down to the bottom of the ravine, where the rock smashes into the ground, crumbling apart but absorbing most of the impact for Sid. Kicking a piece of the rock up like a hackeysack, the lazy martial artist strolls over to the shrine, not taking notice of the markings, but glances at the hole where the medal would fit into. Simple enough.
Picking up another rock from the rubble, Sid absent mindedly skips it along the river, waiting for the flare to go up so he could place the medal in the slot.

THE MOMENT OF CALM AND UNREST Crow swiftly moved through the area following his map to his location the smell of pine trees was refreshing and the many trees provided a cool shade in the area. Crow slowed to a halt, the gunslinger looked around taking in his environment with keen eyes and senses. It seemed while the island was filled with NE this particular spot where the shrine was located was even richer with Natural Energy. There was a calm and tranquil feeling in the air that brought with it an eerie sense of anxiety. Crow placed his hand on a tree and closed his eye, it was said that true masters of NE could hear the sounds of the world around him and they would provide answers. However the only sounds Crow could hear were faint whispers and then a ringing. It wasn’t long before Crow found the shrine with its respective timer. “Hmm two minutes till the ritual begins. It seems I might as well get comfortable and wait for the signal.”
The Last Gunslinger pulled his jacket off and laid it on ground before checking his revolver and spinning the cylinder. Crow casually played with the medal between his fingers flipping and catching for a bit. “So this medal is supposed to save Gen. I wonder what makes it so significant. Maybe if I could remember some of the things my Gramps said about Master Fukuma then I could understand a little more.” Reminiscing about his gramps nearly brought a tear to his eyes, how long had he been searching for answers, for justice, for closure. Reiji could be the person who finally pointed him in the right path of everything he sought. Crow grab the medal out of the air after he absent minded flipped the coin for the twelfth time. Why remembering the past was nice he was here for a mission. Sliding down to the ground and sitting in an Indian position Crow decided to take advantage of the seemingly abundance of NE.
There was a couple different ways a User of NE could replenish and restore lost energy; there was replenishment over time a common way, there was wearing or using items that were rich in NE for example animals skins, furs, etc. to constantly refill and draw on, there was the use of totem poles, and through meditative focus. The problem with meditative focus was that it required the user to remain completely still in position, which was always impossible during combat, but with at least two minutes to himself Crow began to try and focus.
Side Story: The Meeting of the Black Bullet (Part II) Around a stone table sat the various members who made of the elite hierarchy of the Order of the Black Bullet they answered directly to the Gunslinger in Black himself they represented the 7 Laws of the Gunslingers or at least their own version of the Laws. They were known as the Apostles of the Black Revolver or just the Black Revolver for short. The one who tricked Crow and Jin on the book, the Handle of the Black Revolver, had just finished divulging what had happen at which point one of the members let out a hearty laugh. He was clearly the largest of the group the little light that shone on him revealed he was Native American with long dark hair and a dark tan skin. “Ha! Some Heir of the Gunslingers he couldn’t even handle himself against some runt from the Japanese Hidden World Affairs Burea! Why don’t we just slaughter him now and get it over with.” The Handle was quick to reply, “Because the Master does not wish it so we will not act Hammer.” The Hammer of the Black Revolver spoke even loudly. “Fine Cementerio may live by the Master’s word but this Tengu runt is a liability you should have killed him! Who knows who he will tell about what happen? What if they investigate?” Before the Handle could reply the voice of the Gunslinger in Black cut through the air with its sinister southern charm. “Now, now Black Bull. I’m sure if Geralt would have killed the Tengu it would have caused more of a reaction in the Japanese Hidden World Affairs Burea. A strange fisherman trying to kill Cementerio means nothing to them. After all even he has plenty of enemies already what’s one more. And as for how strong Cementerio is you seem to be missing something vital from Geralt’s report. Hence why he is the Handle and Mind of the Black Revolver. I assure you Cementerio is still a threat for now but he made a critical error at some point he angered the Natural Spirits and now they are turning their back on him.”

*THUMP-THUMP*
The Medals started beating in the hands of the ones carrying them. The appointed time was getting close. The air was charged with unknown energy, sparkling around the shrines like unnatural lighting. The sea around the island started to move, spinning in circles, like a maelstrom that pushed any boats away, the same did the wind as currents of chilly air swirled furiously, stopping any intruders that came through the skies.
45 seconds left…
*THUMP-THUMP*
Far away from Sakurajima, deep underground, an old man carrying a stack of papers ran in a hurry, shouting people to get out of his way. He was Goro Keisanki, the man who Yami visited before going to Sakurajima. He was one of the resident tech wizards (literally not just a manner of speech) and he was running, he hadn’t ran for ages so this was taking its toll on him, but if the readings he found in the machine Yami left on were real then they had a big problem.
30 seconds left
*THUMP-THUMP*
-Can’t you find anybody here? - Yami asked exasperated. –I read your file didn’t you have a super nose or something like that? - The Half-Gainen looked nervously around as his Gainen Blood felt like boiling. –You need to find them quickly!!!- He was shouting, something that Callis didn’t like, but understood the nerves of Yami. Trying to calm him he said. –Mes Kizuato, there is some sort of scent in the air, blocking anything else, I cannot explain it, but it feels powerful, like lighting crackling in my nose.-
15 seconds left
*THUMP-THUMP*
-YASUMORI-DONO!- Keisanki opened the door of the JHWAB director, revealing an indoor Japanese garden with a pagoda/gazebo in the middle with a simple kotatsu in the middle, with Roshi Yasumori sipping tea from a stark tea set. –WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM!- The Tech Wizard could barely move, breathing heavily as he leaned on a wooden railing. –THE GAINEN….THE GAINEN…. ARE BACK!-
Yasumori opened his eyes to their full extent and dropped the cup of tea he had on his hands. The silence was broke by the white ceramic crashing into the wooden floor and shattering into a hundred pieces.
5 seconds left
*THUMP-THUMP*
The time is nigh and the flares up in the sky. Everybody should place the Medals into the slots. Once placed 5 pillars of light will surge from the Shrines shooting up towards the cloudy skies, white from Dan’s Shrine, Green from Jose’s, Red from Goemon’s, Blue from Crow’s and Golden from Sid’s. The energy will be a steady stream with the same width and depth as the boulders in which the Shrines are carved. A swelling reverberation, each with a different pentatonic note will emerge as well, filling the island with a harmonious chime-like chorus.
0 seconds left.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA… now you don’t have any chances brat… either you accept me or all of them will die…

Dan was thankful when stuff got weird again. The medal started pulsating, nearly causing him to drop it. It felt utterly disturbing, like he was holding a metallic heart. Arraaagh, ew! He was a little intrigued by this, but mostly just wanted it out of his hands. It was like holding a fish, and he fucking hated fish. He gritted his teeth and turned to the sky. At least his mind was taken from its mad wandering.
After an eternity, it finally happened. The flare burned overhead, a glorious beacon of not having this crap in his hands. He spun and shoved it into its niche, backing up when the shrine lit up. It spat a white bolt into the sky, and as his eyes adjusted, he could see other lights far off in the sky. Green, red, blue, and gold. He looked down to find something else had also appeared. It stood on the shrine, a thing of stone. It was worn and weathered like it had been there for centuries, not a sharp edge to be seen. The statue was armored, but rather than a fearsome warrior, it was weary and downtrodden, crested head facing the ground. The armor just seemed too heavy for it, forcing it to one knee. In the end, it looked like a lonely statue forgotten by everybody passing it by in the city.
Dan looked carefully, finding that despite its apparent age, there wasn't a crack to be found on its flawless surface. With confusion, he stepped forward to investigate closer. He very quickly withdrew when its head swung to face him. Exposed in a thin slit in its solid helmet were cold but living eyes, set in stony flesh. Instinctively he fell into a fighting pose, only one thought on his mind. God he hoped this thing wanted a fight.

Jose was waiting quietly for the counter to reach zero, when suddenly the medal suddenly expands and contrasts, which startles the unprepared counter bounty hunter. "WHAT TH!" *CLANG* The medal had fallen out of Jose's surprised hand and hit the ground with a loud rattling metallic sounds. Yet, soon enough the sound was replace with a different noise. It was not nearly as loud, but there soon was a weird tapping sound coming from the medal. Looking carefully at the medal, he could see that it was actually palpitating in a loose pattern.
Taking a deep breath to compose himself, he reaches down to pick up the dropped medal. As a greenhorn to the hidden world, he is still going to need more exposure and experience of the bizarre and mystical elements of the supernatural before he won't get so stunned from the abnormal circumstances that he will be involved in moving forward. "Damn... I have seen some crazy shit in my life...but this just entirely something else all together" he whispered to himself as he lifts the medal of the floor.
Right afterwards, weird energy in the shape of unique lighting appears and dances around the entire shrine... Getting back to his feet quickly with the beating medal in his hand and wearing a face containing both wonder and a bit of fear, he looks at the timer. Maybe it was his imagination, but he begins to hear strange noises all around him, and as timer gets closer and closer to zero he begins to hear words among the weird sounds, yet he couldn't hear anything specific. Is this part of the ritual? Jose begins to remember the words of the man he helped earlier with Goemon. Something doesn't feel quite right with him about this.....
A bright red flash lights up the sky and temporary blinds Jose for a quick moment, but he realizes that was the signal. He turns his head to see that he has less than five seconds to place the medal in position. As he proceeds to place the medal into the proper spot, his arm begins to feel heavier and heavier the closer he gets the medal to the tiny hole. His breathing begins to slow down as well and when he finally puts the medal into the slot, his heart stops momentarily and a column of green light unleashes from the shrine.
His hearts begins to work after the green pillar of light reaches the skies along with a couple of other different color pillars of light. Jose figures that the others must have place their medals as well. Though he did what he was suppose to do, something is still bothering him about all of this. Regardless, his duty now was to protect the medal and make sure nothing was going to disturb the ritual from being completed. Turning his sight off the skies and back to the area around him, his blood turns cold and his body as stiff as stone.
Standing right in front of the medal was a creature so massive, Jose could not even register the possibility of something so massive being able to avoid his notice until now. The creature appears to be standing at 3 meters tall and has a body that was a mix between a human and a snake. Its head resemble that of cobra's with the lower part of its face having a wide and long jaw. Out of this creature's mouth was a freakish lengthy forked tongue, which seem to be capable of reaching all the way to the ground itself.
Yet its head was not the only concerning aspect to the arrival of this mythical looking creature. Its humanoid body was extremely muscular, to the point that the arms, legs, and chest of this creature was larger than any extreme body builder in terms of per size. The creature's snake skin scales was a harsh dark green and seem to be sharp enough to cut human flesh as easy as any steel blade. It stood completely upright and stare down Jose with its paralyzing eyes that stun his very being. Biting his own lip to the point of bleeding, Jose was able to overcome the overwhelming gaze of the creature.
Taking a few steps back, he prepares himself for physical conflict, when his eyes once again trace over the creature and discovers that in the monster's possession was a large weapon in each hand. Each gun was way too massive and heavy for any normal person to carry and use with even both their arms, let alone with one like the humanoid in front of him was doing. Each gun was design with tribal tattoo patterns all over without a single spot being detailed with some sort of symbol. Jose remembers seeing similar markings on the gangsters back in his hometown.
When Jose couldn't thought it couldn't have gotten any ominous for him, the face of the snake beast appears to smirk. As if it was saying, I'm looking forward to ripping you apart piece by piece. As the blood from his lips hits the floor with tiny little blood drops, he couldn't help but to think that this was going to be the roughest moment of his life. And he just remembers something... the blue flare wasn't even in the sky yet.

THE RITUAL BEGINS: THE GAINEN APPEAR!
The medal began to thump in Crow’s hand as if it had suddenly came alive catching the Gunslinger off guard. He sat up and looked at the timer seeing that the moment was nearly upon him. “Okay you strange medallion. If Master Fukuma says that you can save Gen then you better do just that.” The timer began to tick away every second seeming longer than the last the beating of the medal grow stronger in his hand and for a brief moment Crow felt like the island was coming alive around him. Closer and closer it drew the Rail-gun heart beat matched the rhythm of the medal until the timer struck 5 seconds left. “Okay here we go….” One final time Crow flipped the medal into the air like a coin 4….the Kami Medal hung in the air as time slow down…3…”Gen you better pull through this!...” 2….The medal began to descend slow the Last Gunslinger’s hawk like eyes ever focused on it….1…Crow grabbed the descending medal from the air in his palm and press with force into the shrine as the timer hit 0. “All bets on the table! This is all or nothing!”
The light that erupted from the shrine and the music startled the Last Gunslinger and he went for Quicksilver ready to strike at any anyone (or thing) that may appear to stop the ritual. Unbeknownst to Crow the medal was searching deep within his own psyche to find his understanding of the concept of Kami or God before it took shape. It was again in this moment that Crow sensed the area around and the island itself come to life particularly in the area it sounded like the trees and spirits were excited whispering amongst each other about what was occurring. Gazing into the sky he saw the other lights probably from the others. “It seems the ritual is start...” The Rail-gun couldn’t even finish his sentence as he turned back to the shine he saw that there was something (key word thing) sitting just in front of the shrine illuminated by the light.
The figure in front of Crow was unlike anything Crow had seen before just a head shorter than Crow it wore a cloak that completely covered its whole body. The cloak was a dark brown color and had the appearance of wings or feathers towards the bottom. On the chest was a silver plate that held an eagle like design and hanging from the bottom of the plate was several strings that held different colored beads, feathers, talons, claws, and teeth from various animals. While one could not see into the hood of the cloak because it was so dark where the head of this creature or person was a large pure white eagle skull that was cracked and broken in several places. This skull was large enough that it acted like a head/face. From the cloak was two thing and gaunt arm with claw like hands around the wrists were several bracelets that held charms similar to the one on the chest plate with several animal bones, claws, and feathers on them. It held a wood staff in one hand at the top of which hung several more charms and a dream catcher. Finally Crow could make out two bird like feet sticking out from the bottom of the cloak despite no gender or age being apparent the Gunslinger couldn’t help but remember an old shaman woman from his village. In front of Crow without him realizing was his understand of the concept of Kami/God taken form. The Gunslinger held his revolver up at his but was a bit unsteady on the trigger he didn’t know if this thing was here to help or hinder an ally or foe. He spoke slightly unsure. “Excuse are you here to help my friend Gen?”

As the medal in his hands began to pulsate, Sid curiously stared at it, tossing it up and down with his right hand with a mix of intrigue and boredom. "The hell is this? This thing is some sort of...massage device? Did this guy really give me an over-sized vibrator to put into this thing?" Dismissing the horrid mental image from his head, Sid watched as the timer ticked down to the last few seconds. At the five second mark, the martial artist sighs to himself, places his right leg against the ravine wall, and sharply pushes off towards the shrine. 3 seconds left. With little time to spare, Sid jams the medal inside of it's spot, and proceeds to leap away in case any weird shit started happening. And sure enough, it did.
A bright golden light shot out of the shrine, and by looking up at the sky, Sid saw that there were many more colored lights lining the sky. Were they going to have a rave now? His thoughts were soon dashed when he felt a sudden wave of heat coming from the shrine. "What the shit..."
Next to the shrine stood a hulking figure, armored in jet-black obsidian plate with various veins of what appeared to be lava lining the suit. The figure's eyes glowed a threatening red color from behind the helmet, which was only made worse with the massive figure that accompanied these features. It many times the size of Sid himself, and radiated a noticeable heat when he entered the realm, as if he really was made of lava. Unbeknownst to Sid, this Gainen had read this thoughts and took what Sid considered impact, a meteor, and modeled itself to include those traits. Getting slightly more tense than his usual lazy demeanor, Sid looks at the Impact Gainen.
"So...who are you fire dude? Name's Sid. I think I helped summon you."

Sakurajima was cut off from the rest of the world, a powerful whirlpool circling the island and even more powerful vortex of winds surrounding the airspace, repelling anybody or anything trying to get inside, not even teleporter could pierce the veil created by the opening of a door to the Gainen Space. The clouds above the island got a multicolored tint, thanks to the light pillars coming out from the shrines, thin lines of radiance that filled the sky with color. The Main Shrine, hidden inside the Volcano started gathering the energy to create what Reiji Fukuma needed. He didn’t pick the island as his retirement home by chance, he knew the secret behind the shrines and the ruins, as this was the home of the first known civilization that managed to tap into the Gainen Space. Many of the inventions created related to the Gainen were updates designs of items originally created in this island. The Old Master was sitting in a stone chamber, carved centuries ago by the Kazanjin, the inhabitants of Sakurajima, eons before the feudal period in Japan during the Jomon Period (roughly from 14000 BC to 300 BC) His eyes closed his arms crossed and his mind focused in a single point in the shrine. The energy released by the fissures created by the secondary shrines slowly drifted towards this chamber… towards that single point in space. Slowly a small crack started to appear in the middle of the air, a black light surging from it. The longer the shrines were active the bigger the crack was getting, finally showing what was in the other side. A black void filled with white star-like dots was the door Reiji was aiming to create, an stable portal to the Gainen Space so he could use an empty Medal to capture a “Healing” type Gainen, so he could fix Gen’s ailments. In matter of moments the “Crack” would be big enough for him to pass through, until then he was gathering his strength.
The Poison Gainen stood tall in front of Jose. His muscles rippling with every move under the scaly skin seemed thick enough to repel any kind of attack. The slithery dirty golden eyes of the creature fixated on the Earth Shaker shining with sinister intent as plates of hardened scales suddenly sprouted from his cheeks, forming a mask that covered its mouth, giving its head, thanks to its shape and texture, the appearance of a helmet. There were no words, or even sounds accompanying the creature sudden summoning, just an eerie silence that increased its intimidation. The weapons, carried by the creature, upon closer inspection weren’t simple pistols, but bone protuberances covered with scales, fusing them into the wrist and the index finger of the Gainen. Small tubes coursed in-between the scales, like exposed veins but instead of red liquid they had a strange purple glow, surely not something one would want to touch. The Poison Gainen focused his eyes on Jose, now even more than before, before breaking the pressure and looking around. He smelled the air for a split second before once again glaring at the Earth Shaker. Without any signs the creature lifted both arms and started shooting from the gun-like protuberances. A stream of high pressure purple liquid surged with strength similar to 10 firetruck hoses, more than enough to cut through steel. The Poison Gainen weapon of choice, High Pressure Poison Blades, the kind of weapon that splits anything to its very core, powerful and dangerous as its touch might create a wound that will never close, like the ones in the hearts of opposing factions with immemorial grudges fueling their hatred. If Jose didn’t do something quick, the streams of liquid, that already destroyed cut through bamboo both sides of his location, would get him, as the Poison Gainen was closing up from both sides.
A wretched creature, covered in feathers and trinkets appear in front of Crow, its face obscured by a hood-like skin shadow and its head protected by what seemed to be armored bone protrusions. The chest was protected by some sort of organic plating that shined like silver and on his hand a staff, once more disguised like other weapons, as even if it seemed made of wood it was truly part of the Gainen itself. A sinister aura surrounded it, as if the air was charged with unknown energies, not understandable by man. Weirdly for a Gainen he had the gift of speech, unluckily for Crow its voice was deep and dark, like hearing the eternal silence of the abyss, or strange and sinister sounds in the void of space. With his unearthly sound coming from inside the darkness covering its face the Deity Gainen spoke. -The Black Bird of the Graveyard came to me in a vision, flying over the gravestones of his own kin, black clouds on his path are summoned and thunderous lighting is brought forth with each flap of his black wings.-He scribbled the floor with the base of his bone-like cane removing the pine needles to reach the ground. A crow crudely drawn surrounded by lighting, below it gravestones, piles of rock just symbolizing the ones who already passed. The Deity Gainen grabbed one of the charm-like objects hanging from his body and removed it with a tug, dropping it on the drawing. The small object, seeming like a roughly sculpted animal broke as it contacted the ground, turning into silver dust. Slowly said dust drifted into the gravestone drawings, making them glow with an eerie light. The Deity Gainen added creepily. -The Black Bird of the Graveyard is chained to the black clouds, his kin is calling, calling from beyond, calling from the place after life… calling him from the crossroad without roads…-
The drawing exploded in bluish light as small blue flames floated around the Deity Gainen. Slowly these flames took vaguely human shapes, floating legless around them, looking at Crow with empty eyes. -The ones left behind, swallowed by the black clouds, under grey stones are calling Black Bird… their chains creeping behind you… their voices screaming your name…-
The multitude of spectral visages started a chorus of distorted voices… CROW….CROW….CROW….CROW… CROW….CROW….CROW….CROW…
The Peace Gainen, an armored behemoth that seemed to be made of some substance similar to stone gazed deeply into Dan’s eyes. The downtrodden look of the being was almost to pitiful to withstand the creature invaded by some kind of crushing sadness, an air of melancholy emanating from the weathered stones. Without any motion to allow Dan to predict the movement the Peace Gainen sat down heavily, making the sand isle shiver thanks to its weight. From the creature something strange surged. A pulse of white energy, almost like an expansive wave extending to encompass the island with its origin being the head of the Peace Gainen, a sense of calm and stillness took over the shrine. If Dan had any will to fight this field will sap it, forcing him to take a “Seiza” sitting position unless he can find a way to dispel the crushing influence of the Gainen. Inside Dan’s mind the words “Calm your mind” were broadcasted by the Peace Gainen.
The Impact Gaiden created by Sid’s understanding was a monstrous being of black obsidian with cracks filled with magma, it was basically an anthropomorphic meteor and it didn’t seem happy. The crimson eyes hidden under the rocky and jagged brow locked instantly towards Sid, less like an active decision and more like an automatic motion, almost like a compulsion. The Creature didn’t doubt for a second it jumped, surprisingly high for its apparent weight. But his fiery glare never lost the Kickmaster and it started the second step of the attack. The cracks filled with Magma started shining brightly, covering the blackness with the reflections of its light. In matter of seconds the creature went into a fetal position and started falling towards Sid, taking the shape of a small meteor moving at great speed, almost breaking the sound barrier. If the Kickmaster didn’t move he would end up squished like a bug under it. -Are we there yet? We can’t stop it from happening, but we can stop it from spreading…- Yami spoke nervously as Callis made an effort to follow the tracks, still the atmosphere in the island was so tense he was having troubles to keep focus. The Half-Gainen, feeling the changes on his skin was getting increasingly jumpy, as he could sense the otherworldly energies of the Gainen Space flooding the island, soaking the earth under his feet and the air he breathed. -I can’t understand, why didn’t my uncle thing this through? Why did he think on releasing the Gainen? He wouldn’t do it, not even to save that boxing brat…- Yami muttered to himself as they advanced, slowly treading through the thick forest towards the closest shrine.

Jose was caught slightly off guard by the sudden attack from the Gainen, but he was able to react fast enough to protect himself. Quickly he gets into a strong stance and throws an uppercut before the creature's poison attack could touch him. The uppercut was way to far away from Jose's attacker to be able to land a blow, yet the motion of his action was just a method to manipulate the earth. The ground directly underneath the creature surge upwards, creating a pillar of earth to launch/push the monster into the air backwards. Next, he follows up by pushing off the ground with his back leg and throw a side kick in an arching motion, which causes the earth to break from a couple of meters away and from the ground emerges a massive boulder from the earth, which is slightly larger than an average size living room, and hurls through the air at an alarming speed towards the Gainen in a similar arching motion with the heavy size boulder coming down on the snake monster. Then Jose drops towards his side, while he places both hands on the ground and the earth splits into a large crater, where he plans to smash the Gainen into with his earth attacks. From there, he was going to collapse the hole, then push the rocks around the monster if it successful enters the hole further into the earth until he could no longer push it into the earth's mantle. Jose eyes the creature as he prepares to bury it, but at the same time he also readies himself for a counter strike from the poisonous foe should his plan not work.

Dan was confused by the gainen's behavior. It didn't seem interested in a fight. It even sat down, which as demonstrating of power as it was with the way it shook the earth, was a very nonthreatening gesture. It seemed kind of pathetic really. Even as Dan lowered his fists just a little, a white flare erupted from the statue creature's body. Dan covered his eyes, but the light didn't seem to be an attack. Instead, it stripped something inside away. Something important.
Dan fell to his knees, feeling hollow. His feet ached at the position he took, but he didn't shift. The world seemed like it was grey and still, motion and color stripped away like his violence. Stiff backed, Dan watched the statue, still as a statue himself.

THE RITUAL OF GAINENS
The Gunslinger watched with growing terror as the Deity Gainen spoke and summon ghastly scepters that call him name in a nightmarish chorus. Quicksilver trembled in Crow’s hands and he step backwards closer to the pines that surrounded the area. The barrel swayed from one ghostly horror to another yet he could not bring himself to pull the trigger, his eyes were wide with terror as the blue flames reflected in them. Within the flames he saw he town and home burning, whether this was a trick he mind was playing or the work of the Gainen did not matter, the endless chorus of his name sunk into him like knife wounds dreadfully slow and bleeding him out. Crow’s heart pounded in his chest he breathing was ragged as terror gripped him with its vise-like grip. He could only mutter with a whisper like voice, “No, no don’t you see. I’m carrying on their legacy! That is my burden I’m the Last of the Gunslingers! Back away Demons! Back I SAY!” Quicksilver began to spit lead and fire bullet flew towards the phantoms whether it affected them or not Crow did not care.
He continued firing as he back into the shadows of the pines. “I did everything I could back then. Your vengeance shouldn’t be aimed at me.” Arcs of electrical natural energy strike at the phantoms as Crow own emotional and mental state began to wane as they drew in closer. He finally turned Quicksilver on the Gainen assuming if he shot the creator the images would fade like the smoke of a gun barrel. “What are you demon? Where do thee come from? Are thee friend or foe? Speak thy name!” Quicksilver fired 3 shots at the Kami Gainen with a lethal aim (or at least lethal for a human). As Crow went to fire again he realized he needed to reload, the Gunslinger went to perform The Trick however the ghastly chorus had his hands trembling so bad he nearly dropped all his ammo. If any of the phantom got closer to him he swung Quicksilver wildly at the blue flames trying to swat them out.

Watching the Impact Gainen leap into the air and curl up in the shape of a rock, the connection finally clicked in Sid's head. "Meteor! That's what you want to be! I gotcha, the lava and obsidian also kinda give it away. Oh right, shit." Realizing that there was an actual threat here, Sid presses his right leg against the ravine wall that he had backed up towards, and rockets towards the other side of the ravine, taking a step just before reaching the river to flip over it. How the hell was he supposed to beat this thing if kicking it would just burn his feet?! That thing is made out of lava!
Looking down at the river below him as he flipped over it, an idea dawns on the martial artist. "Perfect..." If it was made out of lava, water cools down lava. But how could he lead this thing into the river...
