There is nothing… but silence
There is nothing… but darkness
What exactly happened? He was dealing with a demon moments ago, his whole body aching, the desperation of having the life of his younger “brother” in danger.
Green eyes staring at him, he felt frozen, the warm of his beating heart dissipated leaving nothing but an icing sensation that made his flesh numb.
He tried walking inside that never ending darkness was there something or someone? He couldn’t see or listen to anything. Even if he couldn’t see it he motioned his head to glance at his hand.
A small blue fire was summoned, and everything changed. He was in a room; it seemed it wasn’t an apartment but big house, white wooden walls with little details on light blue, light brown furniture that had flowerpots and books on its top, a big couch probably for around 4 to 5 people.
He walked a bit, feeling the place was quite familiar until he reached a mirror at the side of a coat rack, he saw the face he recognized the most, his own.
The golden straight hair that reached his neck, the unnatural bright eye color in his eyes, his rose beige and almost flawless skin… Derek felt something was different on him, even if he couldn’t figure out what it was.
He heard a door opened, a woman came yawning in a long almost Victorian pajama dress, her long curly hair was messy and its color was identical to his. He went directly to her, grabbing her gently from her shoulders.
Mom, you’re tired go back to sleep, I’ll make breakfast myself – He said, somehow he realized that that woman was Elatha, the Qu--… no, his mom. Why did he felt that he meet her for the first time?
Nouu~ - She said, still sleepy, trying to make her way to the Kitchen – Don’t worry… - She said before yawning again – It’s your first day, you have… To eat a proper breakfast
He sighed as he smiled, going to assist his mother on her task. She wasn’t going to sleep on his first day at Cornell University, so she wanted to prepare a nice, healthy and nutritious meal for him. His father wasn’t home; he was still working at the police station solving cases… Especially, the murder of two unidentified bodies, a marriage that got slaughtered and only their kid survived. He called him seconds after he woke up, his dad always was the overprotective one, trying to make sure he was all right at all times, thankfully, this new stage on his life will prove he is an adult now, one grateful about his family’s love.
Outside, watching them from the window, there was in fact another Derek and a man almost identical to him on appearance and body but with long green hair and eyes, with six crimson wings.
Can you see it? You would have been born a normal life… Your parents would have settled down in this country, let you live like a normal human but with magic powers, of course – Fergus said, glancing at the picture with a smile and his eyes shining – Can’t you see it Derek? I’m doing all this to open God’s Door… To reset the world, to have my family, so you can have yours… This, this is why I’m doing all of this, for love. You get it, right?
He grabbed the prince by his right arm, eyes filled with tears but a wicked smile on his face. Derek wanted to run away but his body was immobile, his heart rate was increasing.
Fergus knew the truth, he molded him this way, to panic, to shiver in fear but his primal instinct to run away to remain dormant. He made sure he was strong enough to allow him to possess that vessel; he made sure his “heart” was weak to slowly devour it and leave nothing but an empty shell.

We know the other face of love, Derek.
We know the hate, the desperation, the agony, the feeling of drowning in despair…
We’ll force the coin to flip
We’ll force it to fall on the face we demand
