Akane arrived at the mission area, a large warehouse with many sections, it was nighttime, yet some dim lights were still lit, revealing some parts of the building in an eerie manner, whoever owned the place sure had a serious budget, but there was one strange thing though: no security.
"Akane here, no enemies on sight, I'm commencing the mission," she said as she pickpocketed her way through the back door, she began scanning the inside of the warehouse with her X-ray visor, the target: a highly contagious virus.
Akane was no stranger to this type of mission, deployments of that caliber were everyday routine to her at this point, she reduced her breathing and heartbeat to a minimum as she proceeded with the mission.
*hall 13 should have the sample according to my Intel* she rushed towards the location only to find a single glass vessel with blue liquid, the container was strong enough to resist an accidental fall, but Akane wouldn't bet on its toughness against something stronger, she carefully reached out for the virus.
Hiding high among the warehouse shelves, a shadowy figure stalked the strange agent that infiltrated the facility. She wore a black suit with kevlar-like padding woven into its fabric, the outside having several pouches with inconspicuous flaps the same color as the suit to make them harder to spot. The figure was tall; around 6 feet in height and having long black hair that went down to her lower back, tied neatly behind her head. She wore a thin black mask that covered her nose and mouth to silence her breathing noises, though it did make it somewhat harder to take in air. She skillfully maneuvered along the metallic shelf to follow Akane from her higher vantage point, pausing when the Musashi entered another room that she figured was where the target resided.
"Unidentified target has entered the building. Can I get some intel on this one?" Sarah quietly asked into her earpiece, only to be met with silence. Why is my communicator not working? Is there some kind of jamming device in this building? Come to think of it...how did I get here? Sarah thought to herself. There was something suspicious about this mission...but there was no time to question it right now. Frowning at the ground, Sarah leaped off the top shelf and grabbed a nearby support beam, sliding down until she got to the ground once more. She reached to her side and grabbed the handle of her katana, skillfully pulling it out of its sheath with minimal noise. The HWIC Stealth Force captain crept through the doorway and saw Akane standing in front of the blue tube that contained the virus. The objective of any stealth mission is to alert as few people as possible...but here it seemed inevitable. While it was possible to declare herself an agent of the HWIC and try to reason with this woman, it was also possible she was part of a terrorist organization and would wish to fight. The first strike was not something to give away so easily. This needed to end without alerting any guards that might be around.
Readying her katana behind her body, Sarah focused on the space directly to Akane's right. She would then teleport and unleash a diagonal slash meant to cleave Akane's right arm clean off. Regardless if she was successful or not, Sarah would use the momentum to step forward and try to stab Akane straight through the throat. If Akane were skilled enough, she could see the faint glimmer of light reflecting off Sarah's blade before she struck.
Akane was about to grab the vial when a sudden glint of light came across her peripheral vision, she barely reacted to the attack as she parried the diagonal slash with her gauntlet, sparks came flying from the clash along with a deafening sound akin to hammering a steel beam, an indentation on her armor was shown where she struck. The attacker further lunged for a thrust in an attempt to pierce her throat, but Akane had seen through the follow-up and went for a two-handed block, setting the blade between her palms, Akane then unleashed a kick to the solar plexus in order to make some distance.
"You picked the wrong target," she told Sarah as she drew both of her swords, her Kaneshige blade oozed a bright blue aura that made the wind howl everytime she moved, Akane dashed for Sarah, she put her back on a downwards slice with the intention of smashing Sarah's own blade against her face rather than to make a cut on her, should that fail she then would proceed to bash her with her shoulder plate in order to stop Sarah from using her weapon, her opponent had a smaller frame, and she would take advantage of that.
A deep glare spread across Sarah's face when she felt her blade slam against Akane's gauntlet, now able to deduce this woman was also a highly trained swordsman and had armor that could block at least one of her strikes. The kick to her midsection knocked her back several feet, Sarah's red eyes fixed directly upon the warrior before her. No suit of armor is completely protected...I just need to make an opening. Sarah thinks to herself as she brought her right foot back and held her sword in a defensive position.
Akane's charge was straightforward; Sarah watching her bring the sword up for a downward swing. The stealth force captain pushed off her right leg to avoid the blow entirely, bringing her sword back to deliver a horizontal cut, but Akane's sudden shoulder charge staggered Sarah slightly. She reached up and lowered the mask covering her nose and mouth. "And you chose the wrong place to break into. This virus is too dangerous to fall into your hands." Sarah said with an authoritative voice. She stepped with her sword brought back to strike, but then kicked a nearby box filled with vials of various colors directly at Akane. Sarah then charged in with blinding speed to run past Akane and attempt to slash downward at both her thighs, an area that typically had less armor.
Akane struggled against Sarah's speed, she kicked at the vials in order to get them out of the way, but Sarah was already way ahead of her, slicing at the back part of her thigh in an attempt to break through the armor, her blade met some resistance, though not nearly enough for Akane to go unscathed, a bright red dripped over Sarah's blade, the cut wasn't deep, but she had managed to injure her.
As Akane pulled through the pain, she turned around with her blades, aiming to slice her in half, or at least make some distance, she looked at her point count, it was time.
"I'll commend you on your efforts, but this is as far as you'll get," she said to Sarah as she executed the perfect warrior program. In an instant, her muscle mass grew to the point it was visible even through the armor, the virtual machine began relocating the plates in order to accommodate for the added muscle, Akane's hair began to turn white and her eyes had now a scarlet glow.
"This is usually reserved for opponents 10 times my size, but you will get a taste of it now," Akane sheathed her blades as she set herself on a dashing position, she went for Sarah once again, her sprint left a mark on the concrete floor, turning it into dust as it shattered from the initial force, Akane unsheathed with an Iai technique with her wakizashi, slicing horizontally at her opponent's midsection, her named blade wasn't touched on the draw and yet it was still violently expelled from its scabbard aiming at Sarah's face, finally revealing it was alive.
The slash to Akane's thighs yielded more valuable information for Sarah; the armor wasn't completely resistant to blades, and traditional wisdom surrounding the location of weak points likely applied here. The sudden twisting of Akane's body gave Sarah enough time to kick off with her right foot to avoid being sliced in half, but the blade was long enough to reach her lower back and bite through the padded armor Sarah wore, making a shallow cut that began to seep into the black material below.
After turning around, Sarah saw Akane's strange transformation unfold. Her muscles grew much larger, but the plated armor seemed to shift around, potentially giving more openings to attack. The red eyes gave Sarah pause for a second. Could it be possible she was also part of the Albane lineage? The white hair dispelled her suspicions, since that wasn't a trait she was a aware of.
"Ten times my size...? Should I feel honored?" Sarah asked, trying to throw Akane off with the insult as she readied into a defensive stance. She swung to block the strike at her midsection, the two blades clashing and crating a small shower of sparks upon impact. However...she only noticed the second blade when it shot out of the scabbard and moved to slice at her face. "How...?!" Sarah asked in surprise. She managed to dive her head to the left, but the blade still managed to scrape past and leave a gash along her right side that chopped off the top part of her ear. Sarah glared at Akane, gripping her blade tighter as blood ran down the right side of her face.
"It looks like either that blade is possessed, or has some AI inside. But just how intelligent is it?" Sarah asked, smirking as she disappeared once more. "Shizuka Karasu: Ni Juu Kyuu!" Sarah's voice seemed to come from 5 different sources to Akane, the owner suddenly appearing to Akane's right and slashing diagonally downwards at the warrior's right elbow, then disappearing instantly and and reappearing to Akane's left, using her now-downward sword to deliver an upward strike at Akane's neck, attempting to decapitate her. Regardless if she found her mark or not, Sarah teleported one final time directly behind Akane, trying to deliver a hard strike to the back of her head with the metallic handle of her sword.
Akane did not entertain the questions of her attacker, she, however, did faintly smirk upon seeing the sight of blood on her enemy.
Akane's semblance would be turned into a fully serious expression as Sarah disappeared out of her sight once more, the Musashi began to feel intoxicated by the rush in strength that came with the perfect warrior form as well as the adrenaline of fighting such an unconventional foe, her heart raced at a thousand miles per hour as the Kunoichi appeared right by her side, the ninja technique disoriented her enough for her to be unable to parry with one of her swords, though much to Akane's luck her assailant had chosen the elbow as target, which was one of the stronger parts of her armor since the arms were usually expected to take tons of damage whenever blades clashed, and the rounded shape of the elbow only helped to deflect the incoming blade.
Now with the ninja technique out of the way, she could fully concentrate on her Maai, awaiting for Sarah's second arrival, the blade was met with a wakizashi parry that stopped Sarah's blade from getting to Akane's neck, the Musashi was about to commend herself when Sarah was already someplace else, she felt a hard hit on her nape that pushed her forward a couple of steps, had she not been in her perfect warrior form, the blow would have broken her skull, but as she was now, her bone density wasn't that far off from her armor.
The hit wasn't as damaging as it should have been, had Sarah chosen to use the tip of her blade the match would have been over by now, this must have been a wake-up call for Akane as she unlocked the second form of her perfect warrior skill.
with a fighting pose that reminisced the classical Japanese art of Miyamoto Musashi, Akane set up her blades at hip height and slightly pointing to the ground, the ultimate Maai was Akane's response against the high-speed combo of the Albane, should Sarah enter Akane's maai now, she would be met with a thousand blades coming from all angles, this was truly the ultimate technique within Niten Ichi-Ryu. The smells of blood coming from Sarah's ear was now traceable to the enhanced senses of Akane, and she wouldn't fail to tag her after seeing that teleport technique way too many times now.
The fight would have to be decided soon, as with the second ability Akane activated, she now had full control of her autonomic nerves, within a minute she would regain her personality, but for now, she was on autopilot.
Sarah had no way of knowing this, but this was a combo only a handful of people had ever seen before, with Orochi Musashi being the only one to have bested Akane in that form before, this was the complete and most perfect art of Niten Ichi-Ryu.
