Backstory
A born natural with traditional painting, Colette found herself capable of producing works far out of her age range. Easily making her way into the top ranking art schools, her work was revered among her peers, but she always second-guessed herself. A worried perfectionist by nature, she found herself becoming consumed by her work and how she felt there were too many flaws on it. On one such occasion of self-doubt, she produced a piece of work that garnered a surprising amount of criticism from an art critic she respected; the realization that it didn't appeal to them left her in shambles.Working herself to the brink, she felt nothing but dread as her brushes stopped painting the way she wanted them too, the colors felt too muddled, and she found herself lost in a pile of acrylic chaos that was no longer what she loved. The feeling of losing what was most important to her, personally, drove her to an emotional breakdown; the fear of losing her ability to paint, the respect and admiration of friends and family, it left her losing the will to live temporarily.
Content on ending her life to avoid the crushing feelings inside of her, Colette decided to make one final piece and its medium would be her own blood. With her full desire poured into one final piece, Colette's now injured hands that dripped in her own blood began to create a masterpiece filled with emotion and purpose; a bright red landscape beneath her trembling hands that converged into a self-portrait. In it, she saw herself how she always had and the concentration of her feelings poured out from her onto the canvas, but instead of it staying a portrait, Colette's painting seemed to glow just briefly before out of her canvas dropped a singular mirror. A literal object of reflection, manifesting from her desire and feelings. After coming to terms with what she could do, Colette immediately sought help afterwards and refound her love for her trade once again.
Colette now spends more time than ever working on her paintings and while she tends to still self-doubt, she finds herself heavily pleased with her new abilities and tries to take better care of herself than before, seeing that her death would do no good to the people important to her and it would stop her from being able to paint any longer.
Appearance
Due to the cost of her ability, Colette's blood loss results in her having a thin, pale, and sometimes sickly look. Her hands can always be seen wrapped in bandages, though no one knows how far they stretch due to her preference of longer sleeved clothing; paint, both dried and fresh stain these bandages. .Her hair is a light pink and her eyes are a similar color.
Personality
Initially shy, Colette doesn't like to start many conversations. Typically, she is also openly meek and self-doubting, tending not to do things bold or outrageous and always questioning her actions with others later. Whenever she can be pried from her shell, Colette is typically amiable and soft-spoken, she's also very appreciative and supportive of her friends.Powers
Shindo of Painting
Colette is capable of making any inanimate object she wishes, down to the very last detail in its appearance, but it is always at the cost of her own blood; she has to mix her own blood into the paints she uses to garner the use of her ability. The more blood used, the stronger and more solid the object, its stability, and its ability. She is capable of painting things such as holes or entry ways so long as she paints the exact scene on the other side properly, if not, the ability will not work.
Other Abilities
Not entirely related to her newly found powers, Colette has the innate ability to create near perfect replicas of most art works, though she tends to take very long on these. Her ability to forge has garnered her some unwanted attention, so she tends to keep this information hidden away.Weaknesses
Having to use her blood so frequently has caused her to develop several health problems; anemia and her aching arms being among them. She is also simply human, so she has no outstanding strength or agility, if anything she is more slow than the average individual due to her weak body.
