"What the hell is this place?!" Shin shouted to no one in particular. Though he finally recognize the strange energy surrounding him, he still couldn't comprehend its significance here, but regardless of his lack of understanding, the presence of this familiar energy begins to make him incredible uneasy as he continues to explore the school for any signs of his comrades, or an exit. As he progress further and further, he suddenly is hit with an immense wave of bloodlust. Small streaks of sweat start to drip from Shin's forehead and he stops near the corner of the hallway.
"Fuck . . ." He slowly crouches down and takes a peep around the corner to see if he can quickly spot the source of the killer instinct. The entity's look even worse than he imagine it would be. Swiftly he retracts his head behind the corner, and takes a few deep breathes to relax his nerves. "Come on, Shin. You can do this," he told himself repeatedly as he struggles to summon his signature weapons before stepping in the open, and reveal himself to the silhouette, "Please tell me you are waiting here for someone else."

Arthur's question was completely ignored. Ken continued his onslaught. At least that's what Arthur expected and what he got ready for. But after kicking the bill at Arthur's comrades he hesitated.
Yuu's suggestion was unnecessary. Arthur didn't deduce Ken's identity like she did, he simply saw an opening that he could use. He dashed in, sticking to Ken's left side. When he got close enough, he tried grabbing Ken's left arm with his right, pushing him with his left and, after putting one leg behind Ken's legs, sweeping him off his feet. If he succeeded he would slam Ken into the ground with more force then necessary before freezing him to the ground like he did with the twins before.
"Thath's whhat hou get foh ignowhing mah qhehtion," he would brag if his immobilization attempt succeeded.

-Hm…- Kuroki looked at Jane from top to bottom again, his crimson eyes scanning for marks and finally he nodded. -I see, whoever made you is an excellent craftmanship, if he still lives please send my regards and commendations, because I have not seen such skilled biological manipulation since I allowed an old Alchemist to use the basement of my castle as a laboratory.- He stopped at the edge of the second part of the stairs, finally noticing the bloodlust. -I think something awful is expecting us downstairs, I think you should wait here young lady, I will check what is generating this uncouth killing intent.- And with that he suddenly phased into the ground, becoming one with the shadows beneath him and silently moving like a blot of ink down the steps. As he did that the sound of Shin’s voice reached the stairs, he sounded a bit distorted, but clearly it came from the hallway where the stairs ended in the floor below.
The being, if it could be called that, in front of Shin, stood up. It was weird, it seemed like the only evidence of something being there was the total lack of evidence of something actually standing on that place. For a moment there was silence, as the creature, the human silhouette of emptiness in front of him was staring at the Mizukara Swordsman and his weapon. That brief moment of calm was interrupted when both the faint outline of a void and the killing intent vanished into nothingness, just to reappear behind Shin, launching a punch directly at the Young Swordsman’s nape. But something got in between the attack and its intended target. A thin blade, like a rapier, surged out from a shadow, blocking the blow and making the being vanish again. From the same shadow the tall and thin figure of Kuroki came out, fixing up his hair as he sheathed the blade inside his umbrella/cane. -Sorry if I alarmed you young man, but I think you could use some help.-
Martha’s kicked the ball, returning it to its owner. Ken focused on the incoming Universe Ball, raising his hand to stop it using some unseen force. -You cannot defeat me with my own ball, as the ball is my friend!- He proclaimed, stealing a corny line from an even cornier sports manga. Unluckily for him, that moment of heroic hamminess made him susceptible to an attack from behind, the kind of attack a Hero like him wouldn’t do or even consider. When he felt Arthur’s hand it was too late to react, even with his immense speed that attack came not only from a blind spot, but also the contact with Arthur on Kiko’s side of this composite being had flustered her and stopped from acting in synchronization with her brother. The right side attempted to react, summoning the yellow card, but before Ken could activate it he was on the express train to Floorville. His face smashed against the floor and ice, summoned by Arthur encased him. -Damnit Kiko you and your crushes are going to get us killed!- The muffled voice of Kichi came out Ken's mouth.
A voice echoed in the corridor, coming from every wall at once, it was the voice of the girl who was seemingly controlling the place. -NO! NO! AND A THOUSAND TIMES NO!!!!- She shrieked with frustration and vile anger. -YOU’RE PLAYING THE HERO! YOU DON’T ATTACK FROM BEHIND!- She was talking to Arthur, or at least that seemed to be the case. -NO WITTY ONE LINERS!? NO EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE FROM ATTACKING CHILDREN!?- The volume of her voice kept growing, amplified by her unbridled creative rage and the echo of the hallway. -I’M DISAPPOINTED! AT YOU AND AT EVERYTHING! YOU’RE NOT THE PROTAGONIST ANYMORE! NOW SHE IS!- As she shouted a violet limelight surrounded Yuu, coming from above. -I BET SHE CAN BRING MORE TO THE TABLE THAN A PRETTY FACE AND AN ICE MAKING MACHINE! FEEL LUCKY IF I END UP GIVING YOU A SUBPLOT!- As soon as the last syllable stopped echoing, the light went off and her presence vanished, leaving them alone, as both Fathiya and Ken slowly dissolved into puddles of dark violet ink.

If Jane was Martha, she would have punched Kuroki. Even as meek little Jane she felt a surge of distaste for the vampiric headmaster. There was nothing good or admirable about Marika's work. She didn't have the utter revulsion to her creation that some of the dolls did, but she was well aware that being made out of murdered people's parts was a poor reflection on the one who made her. She didn't say anything of course. Who was she to tell somebody stronger than her that they were wrong?
She nodded when Kuroki said he would go ahead. It made her tremble less to know she didn't have to go forward into that terrifying pit of hate. Or it would, if a familiar voice hadn't come from the pit. "That's Shin!" She looked down at the blot moving out. He couldn't have seen that. So who was he talking to? Curiosity fed courage. It was tiny bites, minuscule drops. But it was enough to make her step down a few steps and crouch to peer through the doorway.
She saw the person who was nothing just for a second, that looming space that wasn't there behind Shin. "Shin, get out of there!" She yelled, but Kuroki had already risen with his blade to stop the attack. She cast her eyes about and didn't see the unseen thing again. Her feet carried her off the stairs before the thought reached her brain. She was not staying alone up there, away from the people with weapons and useful powers for battle! "Shiiin! Where have you been!? Did you see the others!?"
Martha, ready for another few rounds of kicking the ball back and forth, wasn't too happy with the result. "Aw. I was looking forward to some decent soccer. Oh well." She knelt to check up on Fathiya when the voice intruded upon reality. "What the fuck!?" She yelled, covering her ears against the onslaught. When it ended, Yuu stood baffled in the fading spotlight. Martha looked back down at Fathiya just in time to glimpse her decomposing into sludge.
"Fathiya! She grabbed at her arm and it snapped right off to melt into ink. "What- no- Arthur! Heal them! Arthur! You need to make them better, you need to fix them!" She sank her hands into the slime, searching for anything salvageable. "...they're fake." Yuu stared at a wall like it was going to melt away too and reveal the entire school was built of nothing but ink on paper. Perhaps it was. "They're all fucking fake! Every last one of them!" Yuu smashed her fist into the wall. Martha scrambled back from the display of sheer rage. She had never heard Yuu swear before.
"Other people like me aren't real and that's fine. Aoi's not real and that's fine. My students aren't real and that's fine. Nothing is real and that's fine." Yuu's voice sped up into a muddled blur, building to an abrupt stop. She was silent for a long moment against the wall, just gently shuddering. Sobs bubbled up from silence slowly until they seemed to be the only noise.
Martha looked down at her hands and up at Yuu. Not real? She only vaguely grasped it. Fathiya wasn't dead, she just never existed? Nobody they talked to did? She... hated that. That wasn't okay. They were gone forever through no fault of their own. People her sister liked, no, fuck that, it didn't matter, people. Anybody who did this? They were worse than Marika! She now grasped the meaning of the voice's words. She thought this was all her story. Well, it wasn't. And she wouldn't play by the rules. Martha wasn't as savy as Jane, but she knew that now would be when somebody gave a pep talk to Yuu, the "hero", now she was at her lowest point.
Martha walked right past Yuu. She just kept going into the hallway, not caring if anybody followed. She walked on into darkness. She would work out how to break the villain's face like the hero would but still shake up the conventions later. Right now, the face breaking was the important part.

Arthur was glad his attack succeeded until Kim mentioned Kiko's name in Kichi's voice.
"Waith, Kikho?" Arthur looked around. Kiko and Kichi weren't there. "You'rhe an amalgham!? Ugh, give hee a hecond."
Arthur cast a healing spell on himself, his jaw restored itself and, more importantly, he could talk normally again. "So, you're an amalgam. Couldn't you have told me that right away!? I wouldn't have slammed you into the floor then! But if that's the case, then why-"
Arthur was interrupted by what he could only assume was a school-wide announcement, using the walls themselves as speakers. Even worse then the damaged hearing this could result in was the fact that the voice, belonging to the girl from before, was berating Arthur for not being the kind of protagonist she likes.
"Alright, hold it right there! First off, I didn't know I was attacking children! Which is super weird, because I should totally know I'm attacking children! Whatever the reason is, it's your fault! Second, I'm a pragmatic hero! Perfect paragon of virtue heroes are boring and out of fashion!"
He didn't care that her presence disappeared. He could've kept going, except he noticed the students he was fighting before were breaking down, dissolving like black cubes of ice. In a less literal sense, Yuu too was breaking down. On the other hand, Martha was boiling. Neither of them could handle the fact that these kids weren't real. Of course, if the kids weren't real, that would explain why he didn't feel any bad side-effects from fighting them. Still, letting his teammates lose control of their emotions like this wasn't good.
"Hold on, you guys. Aren't you rushing to conclusions? Yes, what we just fought were ink puppets, but that doesn't mean everyone we met is one. Heck, it doesn't mean Kiko, Kichi or Fathya are actually puppets. Think about it, there's evidence that this school exists even when we're outside of it, yet so far all our captor has shown is the ability to control stuff inside the school. She couldn't make the whole world believe the school existed for as long as it did. Furthermore, what we knew about the school before couldn't have been added in retroactively, because if our captor could control our minds to that degree, she would have made us act like the characters she wants us to be. So, instead of everything being fake, I think it's more likely that right now we're in some sort of pocket dimension that mirrors the real school, or perhaps a pocket dimension that sucked in the real school and gave our captor the ability to warp reality. These ink things are just representations of the real students we met before! So instead of crying or rushing ahead blindly, we should think of a way to capture the mastermind and save the real students."
Arthur applied all his experience as a CEO, as a leader, to display confidence and conviction. Deep down, he wasn't sure how much of this he believed, but he hoped the emotionally unstable dolls wouldn't think about it too hard right now.

Shin steps backwards as the figure disappears and reappears. The fear of the sudden movement of the strange figure and its incredible killing intent manifesting itself behind him almost causes him to leaps to the ceiling, however his body reacts far too slow to move out of the way of the incoming blow. Yet thankfully he is saved by yet another who emerges from the shadows right besides him. As the shape of nothingness vanishes, Shin turns to face Kuroki, and ignores the man's hard demeanor and offers him a grateful embrace. "I knew you were a good guy all along headmaster," he said with his poor lying skills. After realizing what he is doing, the swordsman awkwardly backs away from the man and coughs a bit before continuing to talk with him. "So, do you have any clue as to what's going on here?"

Kuroki looked down on Shin with a mixture of surprise, shock and disgust. As if he just had stepped on a bug or worse. The Fake Headmaster instantly turned to inspect the area, faint glowing light on his eyes, while threads of shadow raised from his clothing, while summoning his Vampiric Powers. -An insufferable witch, capable of creating live from ink has been handling every student in the school like puppets, she created them and also created the rest of the staff.- Kuroki scanned the area, placing his back against Shin’s back. -I have been searching for her as her antics damaged my ancestral homestead in Romania.- He talked with the cold detachment of somebody who thinks himself above the situation, incapable of succumbing to hatred and rage, always in control. But it was pretty much the opposite, his burning emotions were barely being kept in check under his cold exterior, like a dormant volcano with bubbling magma deep within, waiting for the perfect moment to detonate.
The enigmatic presence appeared once again, nearby the place it originally was. The silhouette of nothingness was still as alien as it was before, vanishing again and moving across the room towards them, appearing in flashes as it dashed forward, disappearing again and finally reaching them from above, launching both of his hands like spears forward. Their lack of substance made it really difficult to properly gauge their range of attack, and Kuroki, better known as Urnas, attempted and failed to parry the blow. His thin blade shoot upwards attempting to intercept one of the hands attempting a thrust attack, but the blurry limb slithered to the side, avoiding contact with the blade. -You dare to attack me? Invisible Mongrel!- The Vampire hissed as the tip of his sword hit the ceiling and the invisible fingers piercing into his shoulder, drawing a splurt of blood out of it. The Invisible Assailant had done the same attack against Shin, aiming to hit the back of the Mizukara Swordsman’s shoulder.
If Shin was paying attention he might’ve realized a flicker of killer intent just before the opponent appeared, as if there was so much that it was leaking. There was something quite clear about him, he was silent, difficult to pinpoint and obviously versed in the arts of assassination, given his bizarre weapon of choice. He was aiming to damage the articulations and inhibit the movements of his prey.
If Martha had enough reflexes she would see the incoming hulking man rushing towards the corner of the hallway she was about to turn. Kiba was bum-rushing her as a runaway train of muscle and bone. Behind him were Tsubasa and Tsume, walking towards them. There was something weird about them, as images were overlayed with their bodies, older men, dressed in full armor with green (Kiba), blue (Tsubasa) and red (Tsume) clothing underneath. Kiba had a stout man, even taller than him, surrounding him like an aura, with a disheveled beard and crazy eyes, holding a massive spear with a slithering tip, like the tongue of a snake. Tsubasa was sharing the same space with the ghostly image of a tall and thin man, holding a feather fan, dressed in fine blue clothing with pieces of reinforced leather attached and heavily ornate with golden threads and jewels. His smile synchronized with the apparition’s, exuding an air of menace. Tsume body was also surrounded, but by a young looking man, tattoos covering his exposed chest and arms, only leather straps with light plating protected one shoulder and the neck. Red and black leather pants and boots, with golden ornaments finished his attire. The phantasmagoric image was wielding a large scythe with a chain and weight attached. -Well, well, well… Is time for some fun. Boys, let's take this one on one... I want the teacher!- He proclaimed, licking his lips as he finished talking. His voice echoing across the hallway and even reaching Arthur and Yuu around the corner. Seemingly the trio had some kind of similar power, involving the ghosts sharing the same physical space with them. Three of them to fight the three present members of the JHWAB Auxiliary investigation team.

"So they really weren't real." Jane thought of Aishi and Kenka. Just inky toys for a monster to play with. It hurt more when she realized what Yuu would go through. She was clearly enjoying herself so much today. How would she take all her students being fake? These thoughts were banished by terror when the monstrous assassin returned. She reacted in the only way she could. Her hands raised and she sprayed a small burst of foam.
If their assailant was solid, the foam may cling to him or turn a portion of his clothes into sludge. It wouldn't hurt, but it would make him easier to see. A few drops were captured by gravity and fell back, melting bubbling little cavities in the floor and tiny holes in whatever clothing it hit. Jane's coat grew just slightly worse for wear than it already was. Jane hugged it closer anyway. It was the closest thing to a hug she was getting right now.
Martha heard huge, thudding footsteps just an instant before Kiba wheeled around the corner. She reflexively jumped, clearing his head like she was hopping on the moon. She threw a kick for the back of his head as he passed under. "Kiba... I heard you were strong. I'm really sorry we have to beat you, but I'll be sure to make it a good fight!" She landed in a fighting stance, ignoring those behind her.
Yuu pushed herself slowly away from the wall as Arthur spoke. "Arthur. You don't have to lie for me." She drew her sword and turned to face the thundering footsteps. She saw the approaching trio and approached. "Stop. You're all puppets. I don't know if I can save you, but please. Let me try." She held her sword low, not even defending, not reacting to Tsume's sickening demeanor externally. Inwardly, she squirmed. She let a kunai slide from her sleeve and thought of pegging him in the head, but even after a veiled rape threat, she couldn't see anything but a student, a child. More practically, she had no idea how his powers worked yet and whether they would stop her attack. She waited patiently for an answer either way.

Shin tries his best to understand Kuroki, or rather he attempts to appear that he is comprehending what the fake headmaster is saying to him. -We are dealing with witches?- he thought to himself. Before he could bother to ask any follow up questions, the silhouette of nothingness appears once again to strike him. Like before he is struck by a deep internal fear from the sudden appearance of this malicious and bloodthirsty presence, but this time he is ready to act. Unlike last time, he doesn't freeze in place, but instead prepares to step aside and counterstrikes; however, the toll of his previous battles weighs heavy on his body, and he moves too slow to avoid the blow as the figure strikes against the side of his shoulder. The blow deals more than enough force to spin the young swordsman around as he falls to the ground, clutching his shoulder in agony.
As he is falling to the ground, he swings one of his blades with his good arm towards what he could barely perceive to be an appendage belonging to this strange figure.

"It's not a lie just because we don't know if it's the truth. I've lived long enough to know anything's possible in the Hidden Word."
Arthur was interrupted by the sound of the delinquent trio which was quickly followed by the big guy charging Martha. Kiba was encased in the image of a green tough guy with a spear, which reminded Arthur of a character one would see in a game about Chinese warriors. Tsume and Tsubasa's forms further strengthened that image.
"Case in point. I've never seen anything like that, but now I know it can happen."
The frost mage nonchalantly approached the fabulously dressed delinquent, assuming he was to be his opponent. He didn't have any weapons on him, and he did his best to appear non-threatening. Learning his lesson from the last match, he was going to try and use words to bring them back to their senses. If Ken/Kiko could be stopped accidentally, perhaps he could get better results by consciously trying to get Tsubasa to stand down.
"Nice suit you got there, Shiroi-san. Though I think it doesn't suit you very well. It makes your smile look kinda creepy."

As Urnas was pushed away by the attack he failed to parry, Shin’s blade had enough space to reach the figure, who vanished a split second after receiving a relatively shallow cut from the Mizukara Swordsman. Jane’s foam didn’t reach the being, who was pretty afar from her position. The Vampire retreats to the shadows as his dark crimson blood splashes on the ground. The Enigmatic Figure also disappears, but in thin air, yet the aura of killing intent has diminished. From inside Shin’s shadow, Urnas makes a question, his voice resonating with arcane undertones. -I do not know which student or teacher is this, have you seen somebody with this kind of power today during your investigation?- He wondered, hoping that either of them knew of a student or teacher who displayed stealth capabilities. The Enigmatic Assailant kept to anonymity, still hidden, not even appearing as the silhouette.
Kiba received Martha’s kick and staggered, crashing against the wall and breaking it, absolutely devastating the bathrooms, breaking both concrete walls and wooden panels alike with his crash. He stood up from the rubble seemingly unfazed, locking his eyes on Martha. The spectral figure floating besides him grinned with its arms crossed, while Kiba’s face was a mask of stern determination, a bit difference from his usually vacant expression. -I don’t want to hurt you, but I’ll only find my sworn brothers if you’re dead.- He proclaimed, even his speech pattern changing, the figure behind him moving its lips at unison. The Giant Delinquent flexed his muscles as he advanced, tensing up and wading through the rubble with just sheer physical strength.
He took a strange stance, showing his flank to Martha, with the back arm elevated and flexed, while his front arm was stretched out and lowered, as if he was holding an invisible spear. With the hint of a grin he roared forward, launching his back arm forward. For a moment the extremity became blurry, turning into a winding and twisting line, akin to a snake, a blur of zig-zagging motion, directed into the Brawling Doll’s abdomen, being particularly difficult to judge. At the very least it seemed to be a palm strike rather than a punch, but considering his size and the effect he had on the wall it was quite clear he packed more than enough punch. He was moving roughly at peak human speed, but the strange motion of his arm would complicate Martha’s perception of it.
-Real or false I don’t care which is the truth.- Tsume smile grew wider, just like the phantom floating behind was. His fingers moved creepily, each as if had a life of their own and suddenly he clenched his fists and then opened again. The double click of a pair of switchblades opening up, he produced both from his sleeves, nothing magical about them. They were about the same size as Yuu’s Kunai. He licked the flat of one of the blades. -I just want to have fun, fight strong people, eat good fun, fuck beautiful women.- He looked at the Leader of the Dolls with the most overtly perverted look she might have been target off ever in her life. -That’s all.- He spun the blades on his hands like windmills and threw both towards Yuu. The figure behind him mimicked the movement but launching his chained sickle. All the weapons, the spectral one and the real ones did the same bizarre movement, a parabolic flight towards Yuu, but the side. Basically he was curving the trajectory of the blades.
-Thank you, I hope is nothing too exorbitant, I have big plans for the future, better clothing and a wider smile.- Tsubasa’s speech was also altered, just like his friends. -I would prefer to avoid a battle as well.- His smile widened. -How did I know what your intent was?- The figure behind him shrugged, not in a way to show lack of knowledge, more in a cocky arrogant insult. -I read people’s mind.- The Shadowy Visage covered his mouth with fan, hiding a disgustingly arrogant chuckle. -I see your potential, you could pretty much be the general for my future endeavors, working under me, what do you say?- He extended his hand, inviting Arthur to grasp it, but his eyes showed a dangerous light, as if he was still ready for anything the Frost Wizard attempted.

"I haven't seen anybody like that! I guess maybe Uwasa can be sneaky..." Jane kept her eyes peeled on the ceiling. What if they weren't there anymore!? She wouldn't see them! She looked back to ground level and crept between Urnas and Shin. What could she do? She was still weak! Just a plump little morsel to draw horrible jaws! Just... perfect... bait...
Jane didn't like that idea. But what could she do better? She had to trust in Urnas and Shin's quick reflexes. "I'll draw him out." She whispered to the others before doing what she did best. A piercing scream blew out of her lungs before she set off on her short legs at the stairs, leaving her at least seemingly vulnerable to anything lurking in wait. She covered her head and hunkered down, hoping to at least direct any blows that made it through away from her face.
"...you can't what?" Martha's expression took up the vacancy that had deserted Kiba. It stayed as he made his attack. Even with her speed, she had difficulty reading its trajectory. Its wiggling lines didn't make any sense to her eyes and as she dodged to the side, his fingers were already meeting her abdomen. "Huh?" The sound on her lips was left behind when she was thrust down the hallway.
Martha slammed into wall on the far side of the hallway and vanished in a fog of plaster dust. There was a moment where the only sound was the wall creaking and leaking chunks of drywall before Martha's laughter came out like a series of dynamite blasts. "That was AMAZING! Finally a real fight!" Her voice boomed just a second behind her actual body had reached Kiba. She was dusted with plaster all over and her jacket was shredded. There wasn't a sign she cared on her face as she lunged off the ground, carrying her knee at Kiba's nose.
Yuu struggled to keep up her dignified front against Tsume. It was hard with her eyes all bloodshot her and her nose a little runny. Really crying wasn't the same as leaking her flammable tears. Not to mention Tsume himself. There had to be a limit to sleeze, but Tsume hadn't shown his. She didn't expect him to throw the knives when he drew them and she especially didn't expect them to curve so wildly.
Her sword slashed out swiftly, managing to catch one blade in its trajectory and swat it from the air, but the other knife embedded itself in her side and the scythe hooked itself into her shoulder. She staggered under the blow, but came up quick and grabbed at the chain. He's not real. She thought as she tried to pull Tsume closer with it. He's not real. She thought as she lunged, trying to slide her sword into his heart from under his ribcage.

The altered voice was somewhat unsettling. Arthur suspected possession, but he wasn't sure what to do about it without hurting Tsubasa. He needed more information.
"A general, you say? Why, that does sound interesting." Arthur looked at Tsubasa's outstretched hand. "But there are some things that need to be done before I can accept an offer like that. I don't know how things are done where you're from, but here we need to establish the terms of a contract before anything else."
Arthur started pacing left and right from Tsubasa's perspective. "First I need to know who the parties are. There's me, of course. But who are you? I'm getting a Chinese overlord vibe from you. Are you one of the leaders of the Three Kingdoms, perhaps? And what about your buddies? I mean really, I need to know what my employer is like if I'm to fulfill his desires. And then there are the terms of employment, I need to know what my job as general would entail, exactly."

Shin shakes his head, "Sorry shadow. I have no idea who this could be." He carefully keeps his guard up as he expects the strange figure to return any second. "No Jane. We can't waste time with dealing with this guy. Right now we should focus on regrouping with the others. I'm sure together we can defeat whoever, or whatever that thing is, but we should get moving before we lose our chance to gets away." Turning his attention towards his shadow he asks, "Also, do you have any idea where our comrades are right now, or how we can escape this building," he asked Urnas

Kiba smiled upon hitting Martha, the kind of grin an old warrior lets out when realizing he hasn’t lost his touch. Yet, this momentary hint of self-satisfaction, ended up playing against him, as he didn’t expect the Doll to tank his attack, nor to rush as she did. The sickening crunching noise echoed in the room as the Brawling Doll’s knee collided against the bridge of Kiba’s nose. The Hulking Delinquent took a couple of steps backward, grunting as two crimson rivers ran down the ridges of his lips, dripping on the floor. -Ugh, goddammit, Guan Yu was right, I’m fuckin’ overconfident.- He muttered between short, pained breaths. His eyes were tearing up, as the shockwave even reached his lacrimals. Still his body was tense and his guard was up, instincts-wise he might be a bit more experienced than the Doll. -You said you want a real fight!?- He asked with a dangerous gleam on his stare. -Then…- He grabbed his twisted nose with his index and thumb and set it back into position with a grunt and a crack. -I think I can deal a bit of the good brawling, but don’t come to me crying if I break something!- The Spectral Visage behind him chuckled. -I don’t like dealing with crying women.-
With that said he tensed his iron-like muscles even harder, to the point that the floor beneath him cracked from the sheer pressure his feet were generating on the tiles. Taking a huge breath he pulled both hands back, as if he was coiling springs and then launched them forward as he bum-rushed Martha. His hands shot forward with the same bizarre trajectory as his first attack, becoming blurs of motion almost impossible to predict, then even twisted with each other, his right hand attack her right side and his left hand her left flank. As he attacked he proclaimed.
TWIN EMERALD SNAKES CROSSING SI SHUI GATE!
Tsume was waiting for her, with his hands behind his head and a shit-eating grin on his face. His eyes were still locked in a lascivious stare, checking out her body. Seeing her attack didn’t seem to bother him, as he didn’t even give any indication of panic when Yuu charged with grim determination towards him. As she was midway on her charge he shook his finger in front of her. -You lost this fight.- And with that gesture as the only indication, the Phantom Warlord behind him pulled the chain and the sickle tensed up, this was done with the intention of altering Yuu’s trajectory to send her slamming against the wall. The chain curving just like the knives did, in fact it wasn’t just the chain or the other weapons flight path, Yuu’s vision, after getting struck by the knives seemed to be partially impaired, making her see any straight line as a curve and any curve as a straight line. Quite the pernicious ability. -You should surrender to me, I’ll treat you well, make you the star of my harem.- There was drool slipping out from the side of his mouth as he talked, absolutely disgusting.
-I appreciate intelligence on my subjects.- He pulled out his hand, smiling cunningly at Arthur. -You’re right, I’m Sima Yi, the Magnificent and Golden, patriarch of the Sima Clan and true unifier of China. You may bask in my radiant light.- He bowed elegantly, just as Kiba was getting his nose broken by Martha. -The rather large and blunt gentleman fighting the rough and uncut girl is the famed Zhang Fei, General of Shu and sworn brother of Liu Bei and Guan Yu.- He pointed at the image behind Kiba, that was grinning as the body attacked Martha. Yuu’s and Tsume’s battle raged while talked. -The lustful man fighting the fair skin maiden is the pirate Gan Ning, who worked alongside the ruffians from Wu.- While talking the aforementioned Tsume was pulling from the chain attached to the sickle deeply pierced into the Leader of the Doll’s side. -I quite enjoy this time period and is my intention to recreate the era of strife that brought such fame and riches to my family.- He explained, replying to Arthur’s second inquiry. -I’m quite surprised to see so many extraordinary individuals living in the modern day, I must admit I’d always thought that the more advanced the world became the stronger the claws of mediocrity would pierce the veil of the world, but I’m joyful that it wasn’t the case, exceptional people like myself require exceptional subjects.-
He extended his hand again, while putting his other arm behind his back, smiling like a fox. The Phantom Warlord behind him did the same, putting the fan behind his back and extending his eyes while looking at Arthur with it’s eyeless face.
If a shadow could shrug, then it would be doing that, as Urnas replied. -I do not know about the location of your comrades, I was in my office when the unrespectful bitch who desecrated the resting place of my ancestors with her trickery.- The shadow shifted in the floor, turning into an arrow pointing at the Petite Doll. -She must know at least their general location as she was alongside them before getting to my office, you could start by asking her.- Jane rushed to the stairs but she was uninterrupted, yet, the Invisible Opponent wasn’t done yet, as he appeared behind Shin, aiming to take him by surprise, but before he started to materialize as a void silhouette, somebody shouted. -SHIN BEHIND YOU!- Seicho appeared rushing out of the corner, sliding on the floor with his hands making a frame in front of his face, a rectangle around his eye, like a movie director measuring a scene. Something made the Teen Detective change his mind and now he came in the last moment to help his friend.

"Eep!" Jane startled at the sudden new voice and spun, throwing her backpack at it, the only projectile she had on hand. She felt vindicated when she saw who it was. Another student! They would be attacking any second now! "Get back! I don't want to hurt you!" She raised her arms, palms out as tiny shields. She only lowered them when she thought about what he had said. Wait, he had warned Shin. "Uh... sorry!" She edged away from him. If he wasn't going to attack them before, he might now!
"Only thing you'll break is your own fists!" Martha bragged, rushing right at the attack. There was no pattern to Kiba's attack, at least none that she could understand. She wasn't going to dodge it, and if she wasn't going to dodge it, the only option was to power through. Kiba's dinner-plate sized palms clapped on her sides and sending shockwaves through her innards. Martha jerked upwards from the force moving through her, but she grinned and pulled her foot back regardless, ignoring the feeling like her stomach had just been turned upside down.
"But you're in luck, because when I see people crying, I have to comfort them if they're not complete assholes!" Her foot shot forward, right for Kiba's knee. At the same time, Martha was reaching to grab Kiba's shirt and pull herself up to kick his head again, but had only to bend her stomach a little to nearly topple. Oh, wow he had done a number on her. Hopefully Arthur had lots of mana left.
The stiffened chain thrust Yuu against the wall hard. Combined with the attack on her perspective, she lost all forward momentum and fell to the ground. She caught herself on her hands and glared at the ground. She drew a kunai and tried to gague her target. She threw and it stabbed the wall behind him. She threw another with the same result. His mockery cut through it all. She had moved to kill him already, but only under the knowledge he was a puppet. She had to keep her mental shields up for it.
His behavior had begun to tear down that part of her that cared. The woman who had guilt over wanting to kill Chase, the man who had burned her baby nearly to death, wanted to see Tsume gone. Her heart warred with itself. Slay him! For the good of everybody! Said an angel in red. Spare him! For the good of your conscience! Said a devil in white. "Shut up." She mumbled, but not to the warring aspects of her conscience.
"Shut up... when you fight!" Yuu closed her eyes and stood. She judged Tsume's location by his voice and threw a kunai. She didn't stop to hear if it hit and threw another. "Tsume. Shut the fuck up. You don't have a harem. You don't have anything. You aren't real." She started approaching Tsume, sword out, listening for his noises. "And despite that, you manage to repulse me more than any real person could. You're wretched, rapey, possibly in fact a rapist, disrespectful, narcissistic, and cruel." She punctuated each insult with a sword swing where she hoped he was standing. "And... that has nothing to do with why you have to die. I'm sorry."

Arthur circled around Sima Yi while he talked, putting him closer to his allies if he needed them, while he considered ways to fix this without violence. His options didn't seem particularly numerous. He knew lower- and medium-level curse breaking spells (useful for anyone checking out old tombs for treasure), but he doubted those worked on possession. Fulfilling the ghost's desire also didn't seem like something that could be fulfilled so easily.
"Here's the thing, though, mister Yi. The world has changed while you were gone. We've globalized. You're still thinking about short-term profits on the scale of a single country. But you're clearly a clever man, with a lot of potential, so you need to think bigger. And since it's not easy to cause global war, I recommend starting a business instead. With your sharp mind, I have no doubt the lavish lifestyle and the fame you seek would be within your grasp in a matter of years, and there wouldn't even be as many people who hate you!"

Before the young swordsman could ask anymore questions, he suddenly performs a front roll he hears Seicho's warning. As he gets back to his feet he turns around and stares at his newest friend with a big grin on his face. Happy to see his pal helping him out. He reaches for his blades as he prepares to finish this strange fight with the mysterious silhouette. As he enters his low battle stance he begins to search for an opening. Once Seicho does whatever he is planning, Shin will charge in and perform a series of slashes aiming to disconnect the man's lower appendages from the floor.

-Mienai!- Seicho shouted as he stood, up leaning against the wall. He staggered as he did, clearly whatever he just did to see the enemy was really taxing. -Mienai you need to stop this right now!- The Teen Detective was still shouting at the flickering void silhouette in front of Shin. A thin line of blood slowly dripped down his chin, coming out from his right eye, that right now turned completely black. He was leaning against the wall as the flickering enemy phased in and out of sight, but he wasn’t moving, the very faint outline of the body showed a little of its body language and right now it spelled confusion, as he looked at his hands that entered and exited reality. -You can’t leave…- A larger burst of blood dropped down Seicho’s eye, followed by two lines dropping from the sides of his mouth. -You can’t leave my sight, that’s my power [LOCK ON].- He started explaining as he gathered his strength and walked towards Shin, leaning on the Mizukara Swordsman’s shoulder. -I realized that something was wrong, I’ve been thinking what happened over and over and I noticed that I never seen the woman who told me about Shin’s “crimes”.-
Seicho right eye was still locked into Mienai. -I usually can paralyze people and get a headache, but whatever you’re doing is a bit harder to stop, so can you cut it out? Because I don’t want to lose my eye.- The Void-walking Yuudai Mienai, suddenly turned into a solid, losing his strange power as he grabbed his head. With a weak voice he whispered. -Why? I don’t remember? Why?- Seicho, showing a smile of compassion through his pain. -I don’t get it either, but you will if you focus a bit, try to push through the haze that surrounds your hea-. Seicho’s words stopped as a cold spray of black liquid hit him and Shin. Urnas, taking advantage of the situation pierced his hand through Mienai’s back, grasping his heart and pulling it through the Vanishing Student’s chest. The goey ink-like substance, just like the other students, splashed forward drenching both the Mizukara Swordsman and the Teen Detective. Mienai dissolved into a puddle of sludge while Urnas shook his hand with disgust, trying to remove the pieces of tar-like liquid from it. Seicho looked at the scene with horror, as surely the others would be doing, so Urnas looked around as shrugged. -What?- He asked. -Did I get some of it on my suit?- He looked at himself with a hint of worry. -I hope not, I just got this from the cleaners.-
-Comforting crying people is a noble thing!- He said as he palms connected. -Is a shame you will fall in battle toda WHOAH!- He attempted to throw a cool one-liner thinking that Martha was defeated, but to his surprise she pushed through the pain and connected a powerful low kick right on the side of his knee. Kiba buckled under his own weight, falling into his other knee, as the Phantom Warlord behind him groaned in pain, not in actual pain or emitting any sound, just wincing to it. Martha continued her attack, but Kiba’s reflexes allowed him to put one of his massive forearms in-between the Brawling Doll kick and his own face. -Nice attack!- He complimented with a half smile. -But this only means that the kid gloves are off.-
He shot his free hand towards Martha’s forearm, the one that she used to grasp his shirt, with the intent of grasping it, while his blocking arm, from that position twisted at elbow height, once again becoming a blur of swirling motion. This time around it was aimed directly at Martha’s head. If the previous blows had caused inner damage to her guts a hit to the head might be the one attack she actually needs to dodge instead of taking it. -PRAY TO WHICHEVER GODS YOU PRAY!- He roared as his offensive started.
Tsume laughed at her feeble attempts to attack him as he retracted his sickle. -Oya-oya, you should be careful with those knives darling, you might hurt your pretty face.- He chuckled as she stood up. -Try to damage the goods or I might put you in second place instead of first for my fucking order each night.- Once again drool came out from the side of his mouth, the kind of perverted slobber only a wicked man gets when think about the sinful acts he will commit. As she closed her eyes his grin went wider. -What you think that because you can’t see you won’t be affected by it?- He rudely pointed at his head and then at Yuu, with a confident smirk on his face. -You’re crazy if you think that Zatoichi bullshit works on real life you know?- Her first attack swung wide, he didn’t even move, confident that his power was still in work. His grin became wider yet again and he closed his eyes as he laughed at her. -Oh look at me, I think I can ignore magic powers because I closed my fucking eyes!- He mocked her, but a sound interrupted his provocations.
Yuu’s first attack didn’t work, her second attack also hit the air, but there was something affected by it. The rage boiling inside her was so great, and her movements so wide, that her muscles rippled under her skin. The violent movement was more than enough to de-attach the knife still piercing her skin, seemingly the source of the perception alteration. Cold sweat dripped from Tsume’s forehead when he opened his eyes to see the knife falling on the ground and then Yuu’s sword finally aimed at him. He attempted to block moving his arm into the trajectory of the blade, but the Doll’s anger and Shin’s sword sharpness combined into a powerful slash. -YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARHG!- Tsume cried out in pain as his arm was cut clean at the middle of the forearm and then the blade continued drawing a crimson line on his chest. For a moment nothing happened, but then a blast of red blood sprayed out of his chest. His arm fell on the floor into a puddle of crimson. Tsume fell backwards, his eyes turning white and behind him, the Phantom Warlord was laughing, pointing at him and at Yuu. Tsume didn’t turn into ink.
Tsubasa laughed, covering his face with his hand. The Phantom Warlord did the same but using his fan. -You see, I don’t wish to have power and riches… any idiot wants that.- He started explaining with one hand still on his back, while the other did gentle gesticulation to reinforce some points as he talked. -I don’t want prestige. I want to rule, because the mere thought of anybody…- His gentle features got harder and sharper, his eyes shining with dangerous light. -And I mean anybody, apart from myself and my bloodline, in power makes my blood boil.- A circle of wind slowly started spinning on the floor around Tsubasa. -I’m the rightful ruler of this ball of mud and I won’t allow any other to take my place, I don’t care about modernity or antiquity.- His eyes were clearly reflecting a mad arrogance than Tsubasa never had before. -I’M THE ONLY ONE DESERVING OF RIGHTFUL RULE! I’M THE MAN WHO UNIFIED THE THREE KINGDOMS!- The circle of wind grew stronger, dust in the room being lifted and swirled into it. He extended his hand again. -So what do you say? Will you join me?- His expression went dark again. -Or will you oppose me?-

Jane's stomach twisted into a knot when Mienai spoke. They could be talked out of the control!? So Aishi and Kenka didn't have to die... Jane screamed and covered her eyes when Urnas struck, killing again. It wasn't that he didn't know; he just didn't care. She looked into his eyes and saw something like Marika there. Other people weren't real to somebody like that. They were just obstacles or pawns. She just watched Mienai melt away and kept her mouth shut. She wasn't going to convince him not to kill anybody else and she didn't want to risk pissing him off trying to do so.
She shook her head at the others and put a finger over her lips before turning to the hallway. "It's nothing. We just worried about getting that stuff on your hand like that, but it seems it's fine." Her voice didn't shudder like her body as she took a few tentative steps away. She was terrified of what was ahead, but she didn't want to hang around with Urnas for very long either. Shin and Seicho being with her made her feel a little safer, but if Urnas really got mad, she doubted they could stop him.
"What gloves?" Martha looked at Kiba's hand just in time to see it flashing out at her face. By pure instinct, she moved her head to the side, and a skull-crushing blast merely struck her ear. She winced at the sharp pain. She had no idea what was up with this guy's attacks. She couldn't read them. She'd just have to pulp him before he could beat her down. She pushed off to rush in extra close and pulled back a fist. "I'd like to see you do those fancy punches this close!" She whipped up a whirlwind with her flurry of blows, scraps of the wall blowing away as dozens of punches flew for Kiba's face.
Yuu felt the slight resistance that came when a blade passed through something solid and her eyes snapped open. She saw Tsume falling, painted red. Impossible. Her blade dropped and she rushed to catch him, putting an arm behind his back to support him in a halfway standing position. Her eyes weren't deceiving her. More of his shirt became sticky with blood before her very eyes.
"No no no no no..." She laid him down and tore off her jacket, trying to make a tourniquet for his severed arm. A faint voice told her to finish him, but she mechanically tied off the tourniquet and put the rest of her jacket to his chest, pressing her full weight on it. She had to stop the bleeding. She couldn't kill him, no matter how awful he was. It was too tempting. Too easy of an option. Death would become the solution where it wasn't before. It wasn't acceptable. She couldn't let it be acceptable.
