"His name is Razor! If you take a look at his claws, you'll know why I named him that." Lindsey states, hiding her amusement at Ryan's reaction to seeing her summon. She had to admit, it was pretty fun constantly rocking this kid's world with all these cool details. Razor continued to sit obediantly, eyes staring forward as its master looked over at Ryan. "Anyway...like I was asking, is there anything else you'd want to see at Gateway?"

Well Ryan keeps his eyes on Razor, he shakes his head with the indication that he no longer had any questions to ask Lindsey about gateway. But then he remembered something and nervously retracts his previous verdict but raising his hand as if he was a student in a classroom and that his tour guide was his instructor. "Umm...I would want to know if...umm...not really sure how to ask this," he mumbled to himself so lowly that it would be a miracle for a normal person to understand him. "Well, I...," said Ryan as his voice slightly increases in both volume and pitch, "I want to know if...if it was possible to meet the headmaster."

Ryan's question took Lindsey a little off guard. Why did he want to meet the headmaster of all people, right now? "Weeeeeeell...uh...I'm not sure, exactly. Do you have any idea professor Ku-" "Why, of course! But I must ask...why do you wish to see her? The headmaster is always busy, I have seen." Iris comments, floating over to the two of them. She looked over at Ryan with a small amount of interest in her eyes, curious to see the reasoning behind his request.

As Iris speaks, Ryan become even more uneasy than usual. Had it not been her previous spell, he might have faint right there and then. There was just something about her that shock him to his core, but he couldn't understand why exactly. "Well, I want to figure out....," he started to answer quickly but suddenly stopped as he didn't know how he could bring up his situation. From what he remembers, he has no memory of any family, and was worried about any legal issues about being here. No, more than that, he wanted to see if the Headmaster could offer insight to his own past. "...some things is all," he finally answered as he avoids Lindsey's eyes. He was clearly hiding something from her, but even he didn't know what exactly he was suppose to be hiding.

Both Iris and Lindsey stared at Ryan for a few seconds in confusion, neither wanting to break the silence created by his confusing request. Out of all the people in the school to visit, why suddenly ask to see the person who would be the most difficult to reach? Shrugging her shoulders, Iris floats on back to her desk and picks up an old phone wired into the wall and dials up a number, speaking just soft enough to where Ryan couldn't overhear, but Lindsey and her enhanced hearing could. After a few seconds, Iris hangs up the phone and floats back over to the two of them. "It's done! The headmaster has about five minutes to spare if you head up there now. Lindsey, could you escort him up there, please? I'm not allowed to use any teleporting magic near her office." Iris remarks, to which Lindsey nods her head. "Right. Let's go, Ryan!" She exclaims, strolling toward the exit.

Glad to be out of Iris's presence he begins to relax. At least just a little bit. As he walks with Lindsey he makes sure to be far enough from her to prevent himself from accidentally bumping into her, or worse, managing to step on one of her tails. He had a feeling that if that happens he won't be meeting the Headmaster. Instead he will be visiting Razor's stomach. Or worse. She will pull off the most embarrassing prank of all time on him. "So..is there anything I should know about the Headmaster? You know, some basic knowledge that I can use to avoid the headmaster's bad side."

Finding it a little odd how Ryan was trailing behind her, Lindsey pushes the thought aside as he asks about the headmaster. "Well...I haven't really talked to her much, to tell you the truth. But I know she's a vampire and doesn't seem to like when I joke about stuff in front of her." In the few times Lindsey had been sent to the headmaster, she got the impression that the headmaster was all business and trying to use humor was a waste of time with her. The two eventually come to a large set of wooden double doors, opening them reveals a small blue portal. "They didn't want to keep climbing all the stairs to get to the top of the tower, so they made this portal to take people directly to the top. Hope you don't mind heights!"
And with that, Lindsey began strolling toward the portal.

"Hang on...she is a vampire!?" asked Ryan in disbelieve. From what he understands from watching cartoons and movies, vampires either tend to be the bad guys, or edgy people. Both options made Ryan uncomfortable. Sighing to himself he starts to wonders if everything he heard about the supernatural is real then does that mean there is some magical genie he can talk to about fixing his life? But seeing as there is no signs of a magical carpet and lamp around he will just have to find them later. As he stares at the portal that Lidnsey is walking towards he begins to hesitate about following her. Yet eventually his curiosity won over his fear, which is a pretty rare victory for his curiosity. After taking one last nervous shallow he steps through the portal with his tour guide.

Once Ryan exited the portal, he'd find himself in an elegant waiting room filled with soft chairs with cushions, brass panels lining the walls, and a cleanly polished desk where a receptionist was sitting at. "Hello. Can I help you two?" The man behind the desk asks, Lindsey pointing her tail toward Ryan. "He wants to see the headmaster. Explain why, Ryan." She directs, stepping out of the way. He only gave her a vague answer as to why he wanted to be here, so now he'd have to be more direct.

"Ummm...I kinda of what to ask her a question about my current status in this school," he stated as calmly as he could. He looks at the receptionist and wonders if that statement is going to be enough. "I think I have some kinda of extraordinary circumstance that I only can talk to her about," as he finished he image a the word 'Derp' just appeared on his forehead considering everyone here would require an extraordinary circumstance in order to be a student here. "It kinda a mystery to even myself why I'm here...."

The receptionist looked at Ryan with a mildly puzzled expression on his face, not sure what to make of this kid's strange behavior. Giving one sigh in response, he turns to his computer and begins typing away. "Very well, Headmaster Weiss currently has a break in her schedule. I'll let you explain your situation to her yourself." And with that, he presses the 'enter' key, casts an assortment of spells that acted as a sort of lock to prevent people from getting past the front desk, and motioned for the two to walk in.
Once they walked down the hallway, the duo would see a large door at the end of the hallway with a sign reading "Headmaster" at the top in large black letters. Lindsey pushed open the door slowly and spotted the headmaster at her desk, looking over a stack of reports as both of them entered. She had extremely pale skin, short white hair, and wore a tan long-sleeve shirt and black skirt that went down to her ankles. The room was darker than most of the others at Gateway, mostly lit via a few electric lamps attached to the walls. She looked at the two of them with a mild sense of interest. "Welcome. My receptionist told me you had a question about yourself. What seems to be the problem?"

Ryan looks at the headmaster and is honestly surprise to how young and attractive she is. "Ummm...well." he said to say but his words are having trouble escaping from his throat. "You see...." He tired to start over again, but again he seems to be unable to speak properly. "Sorry, I just..." For a third time now he appears to be unable to finish a sentence. Taking a deep breath and trying to build up his courage, he finally manages to say, "Headmaster, I'm curious about something..." He looks at Lidsey for a few seconds as he is wondering if he should ask his question in front of her. However, he figures if the answers he seeks contains some rather sensitive information, that the Headmaster would kindly ask his tour guide to leave the room. "...I want to know why I'm here and how I got accepted to this school." he finally asked. He knew from his familiar Momba that this place would be pretty much perfect to train him, however; he couldn't actually understand why his familiar took him here. After all Momba doesn't appear to care for his well being, or seems interested in all at training him himself. So he fails to comprehend a possible motive for the Monkey Master to take him here.

The headmaster folded her arms together across her desk, processing what Ryan was telling her. Once he was done, she turned to Lindsey and motioned for the door behind them. "Miss. Stark, could you please step out for a few moments? We have some private matters to discuss, if you wouldn't mind." Lindsey merely nodded in response strolling toward the door and closing it behind herself. Once Lindsey was gone, the headmaster looked at Ryan directly and pulled out a small box, opening it up to reveal a small silver necklace with a small green gem in the middle. "You see Ryan...your mother recently died, and we knew each other when we were both younger. So she wanted you to come here should anything happen to her, as Gateway is one of the safest locations on the planet."
Motioning toward the necklace, the headmaster specifically pointed out the gem. "If you are wondering how I know she died, this necklace was something she gave me many years ago. It glowed ever so slightly as it ran off her mana reserves, but now that it has gone dark...that mana supply no longer exists." Interlocking her fingers, the headmaster stared at Ryan in the eyes. "If you are wondering how she died...I'm afraid I do not know." She paused for a few seconds now to let the information sink in.

Ryan stood still as he needed time to process the information that the headmaster had just shared with him. As he looks at her he attempts to speak, but words could not escape from the tip of his tongue. Not due to his initial shyness, but instead out of fear and confusion of his situation. This woman had just informed him that his mother had passed, causing his heart to drop to his stomach. After a while his knees collapse and his arms behind to shake. He thought he was inside a dream. This whole scenario seem surreal to him from the very beginning after all. He figured this experience would be a pleasant fantasy. Yet now he knows the truth. This has been a trick all along. What he thought was going to be a joyful hallucination has removed its disguise to reveal the nightmare waiting to crush his spirit all along. His own head begins to feel heavy on his shoulder. While Ryan's trembling hands reaches up to support his head, his palms cover his bawling eyes. Yet they did very little to prevent his salty tears to mask his face or extreme grief. The poor boy was in this position for a few minutes, and over time his head shifts from feeling hefty to as light as a feather. To the point he has the urge to faint right on the spot. As the world begins to fade to black, he rests his hands on the ground as he whimpers his mouther's name over and over again....

Ryan's reaction was about what the headmaster expected; a mixture of confusion and fear. As he began to collapse, she quickly casts a feather fall spell to allow his body to float easily down to the ground in order to prevent him from potentially suffering any brain damage. Pressing a button on her desk, the headmaster began talking to her secretary. "Hello, could you bring Mr. Scott to his room? He has fainted from stress. Thank you." Releasing the button, the headmaster didn't wait 5 seconds before Ryan's body was taken out of her office and through the portal, where the secretary teleported him back into his room. It would be several hours later before Ryan would wake up in his bed, still stunned by the situation that had just unfolded in front of him.

After a couple of hours pass Ryan wakes up to the sound of someone knocking on his door before a familiar voice informs him, "Hey Ryan! I'm coming in now." As the door opens enters Ryan's roommate Peter Palmer enters the room as he closes the door behind him. He spots his shy roommate in bed, yet he didn't appear to be too surprise. He figured something like this would happen. "I thought you were suppose to be on a tour. But here I find you in bed." He proceeds to sit down on Ryan's bed with a disappointing expression on his face, but clearly had a comedic side." Before he could properly tell Peter that he did go on a tour, he recalls what he was told right before he fainted. As tears build up in his eyes he quickly throws his covers over his face. Seeing Ryan's pain, Peter switches his voice to a much more gentle tone before adding, "Listen, if you need help talking with other people, don't be afraid to ask me," he said assuming that Ryan had dealing with others again. He knew how much he hated himself for his lack of social skills, yet he didn't want him to stop trying. It might suck at first for him, but if he is ever going to improve his communications skills he is going to have to get out of his comfort zone and talk to more people.
"I know you are having a tough time here," he continued to say," and getting used to this crazy school isn't easy for anybody, especially if you been living in a normal world for most of your life." Ryan whimpers to himself at the mention of the past. Noticing his reaction, he attempts to shift his roommate's focus to the future. "Heck, even I'm uneasy being here at times. But when look ahead to what's waiting for me here, I can't help but feel excited. Even now, when I reflect on the people that I have gotten to meet already, I can't help but feel blessed." Ryan's body begins to move through the covers. Smiling, the lad places his hand on his roommate's shoulder. "That includes you too." His phone suddenly vibrates in his pocket, causing the young lad to lightly bite his own lip. He manages to continue to speak in his compassionate tone, "I didn't really have any friends before coming here. Which reminds me," he said as he gets up. "Thank you Ryan for being my first real friend." He walks over to the door and slowly opens it, "I hope you will excuse me. I have to take care of something."
Before he steps through the doors, he asks Ryan one question before leaving, "Do you want me to bring your dinner again?" Ryan slowly removes the covers off his face after he successful wipes his tears. He shakes his head slightly as he replies, "No. That's okay. I think I will join you guys tonight," he finished with a small smile on his face. "Sounds good," said Peter as he exits the room. As the door closes on its own, Ryan begins to feel butterflies in his stomach at the thought of eating with some of Peter's friends. But the feeling couldn't compare to the joy in his heart when his roommate called him a friend.
