Containing her own laughter, Lindsey casually looked at Ryan and began counting up on her fingers. "Three...four...six...ten...older than both of us combined, how's that?" Just as Lindsey made her comment, Iris floats onto a nearby desk and sits down on top of it. "Sorry...I couldn't help but overhear. It's impolite to ask for a lady's age...but let's say...I am older than your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandparents." She paused for a second to let the details sink in, then began again. "I am the head of the biology department. You can call me Dr. Kurome...or Iris, I don't mind. Pleasure to meet you." Iris holds out her hand to try and shake Ryan's, giving a blank-faced smile in the process.

Ryan is a bit confuse by being told that this little girl was insanely ancient; so much so, that he isn't conscious of his own hand moving and shaking Iris's hand. He continues to look with a wide eye stare as says his own name with a hint of awestruck in his voice, "The name's Ryan Scott...." While his hand braces Iris, the Stigmata of Summons resonates within himself. His face goes blank for a moment as he witnesses a vision of a heavily bruised and bloody man tied down to a wooden table inside a dungeon room that belongs to a medieval castle. For some strange reason, Ryan could feel the panic and pain of the trapped man as if he himself was going through the same experience as him. No, it was as if he as already experience this before. As the man struggles to free himself, footsteps can be heard approaching from the top of a spiral stone staircase located nearby. He looks at the bottom of the staircase waiting in pure fear of whoever was coming down the steps....
His mind snaps back into reality, and at this point, his forehead is completely covered with cold sweat. What the hell was that just now?! Ryan eyes begin to quickly dash left to right as he struggles to understand the vision he just witness.

Cocking her head to the right slightly, Iris watched as Ryan spaced out for a few seconds...then return back to reality with a cold sweat beading on his forehead. Ryan Scott...huh? The name didn't ring any bells for her. Perhaps he's heard of her reputation for being a little abnormal...but it shouldn't constitute this sort of reaction. Letting go of his hand, Iris looked at him with a concerned expression. "You don't look well...do you need some water?"

He manages to respond with almost no strength behind his breath, "Yyy..y...y....yes..p..pp..ple..please." Ryan didn't care about his stuttering, nor did he care about how pathetic he must look. He couldn't stop his body from reacting to the sensation that the vision has left him with. He stares blankly forward as he tries his best to ignore the vision, but he couldn't so easily shake of the sensation the vision has left him with. His body continues to cringe without him having any ability to stop it, meanwhile sweat continues to drip from his forehead as his pupils begin to dilate.

Iris stared at Ryan's face as it continued to show signs of panic, now including more sweat on his forehead and the pupils dilating on his face. Thinking this was either a panic attack or a seizure, Iris conjures a small amount of glowing yellow energy in her right hand...and fires it directly at Ryan's chest. Instantly, he would feel his body become much lighter...his head becoming clearer and having trouble thinking about much of anything. Iris floats over and looks him directly in the eyes. "Don't worry, I only used a calming spell to bring you back down to Earth a little. Now, do you suffer from panic attacks?" If he did suffer from them, this calming spell was only to be a short term remedy.

After regaining his composure, he answers Iris with a few gasping breaths, "No...I...don't...usually have...panic attacks." He turn his eyes away from her when he spoke. Eventually he looks at Lindsey, and begins to apologize, "Sorry if I worried you. Or made you feel awkward." He didn't want to be such a difficult person to deal with, but Ryan couldn't help but think that so far he has made his tour guide's day a lot harder than it had to be, and he couldn't help but feel a little bad for that. looking down now he continues to say, "I'll....understand if you want someone else to be my tour guide." he said in a low tone of voice. He liked Lindsey, and hoped he could be friends with her. But he was so pathetic, that he couldn't imagine her wanting to spend another second with him by choice.

Both Iris and Lindsey looked at Ryan with puzzled expressions. So he didn't usually have panic attacks, yet he just had one from merely meeting professor Kurome? After Ryan was done apologizing, Lindsey folds her arms across her chest. "Someone else? Come on, you've been doing fine so far." Swishing her tail back and forth, Lindsey uncrosses her arms. "Besides, there isn't really that much interesting stuff left for me to show you. So quitting now would just be a waste."
Iris nodded her head at Lindsey's reasoning, looking Ryan over once more to make sure he was fine after that little episode. "She is right. So, why did you want to visit my class in particular, if I may ask?" Iris asks Ryan, curious to see if it's just because of her reputation for being weird.

"I suppose your right.." mumbled Ryan as a reposes to Lindsey's answer to stay as his tutor. Though one might have been able to hear with a bit of happiness within his voice. At first Ryan appears to be uncomfortable address Iris, but he finally manages to say, "Lindsey is the one who told me about your class and yourself, though she didn't mention too much information at the time..." Thinking that she left out the part of this professor looking like a twelve year old on purpose. He look around the room and begins to ask, "So professor..." Trying his best not to think about his recent vision,"...do you simply teach here, or do you conduct some research at the school as well?" His question sounds innocent enough, but a deep, extremely deep, concern could be discovered within this question. For some unknown reason, Ryan's natural instinct made him rather cautious about this individual. Even if he couldn't understand it, he knew she is somehow connected to him in a meaningful way. And he fears the significance of the bond, for he at the time, he can only feel negative impulses about Iris.

Giving Ryan a small smile, Iris nods her head at Ryan's question. "Hm...I do a little bit of research here between classes. Ah...but most of that work is done at my night job." Iris said, referring to her job at the HWIC that Ryan likely didn't know about. With the small smile still on her face, she lets out a small chuckle. "Yeah, I don't sleep much." Deciding to change the topic, Iris floats back into her chair and turns it toward the two of them. "Well...if Lindsey didn't tell you much about me...what would you want to know?"

Ryan was afraid of engaging her any longer than he needed to, but his curiosity is far too strong for his fear to overcome. "Well...I was kinda wondering, how exactly can you appear to be so young? He was thinking that her appearance is probably a glamour, and that her real form is some really ancient looking grandma mummy. Hopefully, she doesn't have a twisted explanation behind her appearance. What if she steals the life energy of her students, and thats how she sustains her youthful looks?! He begins to think up a bunch of other terrible explanations that was mostly influence from horror movies and cartoons that he watched through the years.

Pausing for a second, Iris gives a small smile to Ryan. "Let's see...lots of sweets...don't drink milk...drink the tears of failed students...be more positive...and don't get plastic surgery. Easy, right?" Iris was still smiling the entire time she gave her 'explanation'. Lindsey couldn't help but grin as Iris talked, knowing that the professor was blatantly lying. "Why do you ask? Is it weird for your teacher to look younger than you?" Iris asked, cocking her head.

"I-I guess I'm just tOo U-sed to old-er teachers..." said Ryan honestly. He couldn't help but feel the reason behind Iris's youth is either a big secret, or a simple truth to everyone here but him. Yet again, he himself was only thirteen years old, he couldn't imagine how it must feel for the older students to be in her class. But, seeing how they come to this school, they are probably already familiar with enough strange situations, to the point where it will be normal for them to have a teacher like Iris. Trying to move to another topic, Ryan asks Iris, without making eye contact, "So wh-Y did you bE-come a teacher in the-" NO! THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANT TO KNOW! Taking a moment to gather his courage, he looks her right in the eyes, then quickly away again, before asking,"Why was I accepted to this school?" Adjusting his eyes back at her as he finishes his sentence. He remembers showing up to the front gate, a blur, then waking up in his room. He knew this morning the significance of being here, and that it is in his best interests to stay here. Though for the life of him, he can't comprehend how he got accepted. He had no family, or guardian that could send him to this school. By money or permission. And he lacks the talent to be accepted base on merit alone to this magical academy. So how exactly did he find himself here?

Iris was ready to answer Ryan's question about why she wanted to become a teacher, but he quickly changed his question right before he finished asking the first one. This new question was much more puzzling to Iris, as she had no idea who Ryan was exactly, much less why he was accepted into Gateway. "Hm...you would have to ask the admissions office. I'm only a professor here, after all. Why, do you not think you should be at this establishment?" She asks, cocking her head to the side once more.

"Well..." Ryan begins to answer, "...I think its because I can do this." As he lifts his hands, his eyes glow blue for a brief second before an invisible body emerges from the behind Ryan. Slowing the invisible entity starts to take a much more define physical shape and appearance until there stands a massive and powerful looking monkey warrior. Momba, the name of the summoned familiar, begins to yawn immediately upon taking on his form. "I was having such a wonderful dream. Why did I have to be summon?" he asked his master, though his tone of voice doesn't display his status as a familiar at all. Ignoring Ryan's mumblings words to response to his question, Momba's eyes moves towards Iris. "I hope you are not trying to get me to fight that creature." he said with a look of indifference. "I like a good fight as much as the next primate, but I ain't suicidal."
For anyone who can gauge a familiar's strength would probably be baffled by Momba's presence, who's energy signature would require a highly skill and veteran summoner to be capable of summoning him. A task which is way above Ryan's current skill level by all accounts. Not even natural talent could be the answer to this huge margin between familiar and master's respective status as the current time. Though the answer is rather simple, for his stigmata of summons has set Momba as the default creature to be summoned by the wielder of the stigmata of summons. For if it was not the case, it would have probably taken Ryan many years receiving training from the highest caliber of instructors to be able to use someone on current familiar's level. Sadly, even with such a spectacular powerhouse available to call upon, the great monkey master will not follow his will.

Iris watched as Momba was summoned, then began to speak to Ryan himself. While Gateway was an academy focusing on summoning magic, almost none of the actual summoned creatures were able to think rationally, let alone speak like a human. Puzzled by the creature, Iris couldn't shake the feeling that she'd seen this monkey warrior before...having lived for as long as Iris has, it's not uncommon for smaller details to be forgotten.
"You have quite the familiar there, Ryan. It's not often that we have a summon creature that can actually talk." Nodding her head at the creature, Iris looked back at Ryan. "I'm not sure why you think having such a summon would disqualify you from attending. But if you're still curious...as I said, you should check the admissions office." Hearing a 'ding' coming from a closet behind her desk, Iris looks at it in delight. "Oh, I apologize. I just made macaroni and cheese for lunch. I'll be right back." Drifting off to the microwave, Iris began to put the food into a bowl. Lindsey, meanwhile, looks at the monkey warrior with curiosity. "So...how did you get this summon, exactly?"

"Well....I got Momba because of her." As he tries to recall what event gave him the stigmata of summons, he begins to draw a blank over the exact details, but he did remember the bare minimum. "...after I lost her..." Without realizing it, as he was attempting to find the memory of when he first got Momba, he begins to lightly cry. "...she was very close to me." At this point, Ryan no longer seems to be just explaining this vague story to Lindsey anymore, but himself as well. Still going on without realizing some tear drops are hitting the floor, "And she bestow a gift to me. A very precious gift. And I think that gift gave me Momba." His eyes slowly shift side to side, "Yet... I feel like there was more to it then just him. Much more." Thinking he is going to sound crazy if he says this outlaid, but couldn't stop himself as he unfolds a deep fear he has desperately tried to bury deep down, "At times, I feel like I am more than just one person, and-" Before he could say more, Momba cuts him off with a quick karate chop to the head.
"OOOUUUCH!" yelled Ryan as he rubs the top of his head. "WHY would you do that?!" Momba snorts and responses, "I can't believe you need me to explain." Looking at his young master with disgust he tells him, "You were crying. Only small children should cry in public. Anyone else is a weakling. And I refuse to have a master who acts like a baby."

The fox girl watched Ryan start to break down, having no idea that asking one question would break this kid like it is now. A precious gift? More than just one person? Did this kid have schizophrenia?! Before she could ask about it further, the summon reeled back and karate chopped Ryan on top of the head, making Lindsey turn away before he could see her contain her laughter. While it was rude...Lindsey did appreciate that it appeared to lighten the mood a bit.
"Ouch. Well, since Ryan seems to have a patchy memory right now...do you have any information as to why you're with him now?" She asks, looking at Momba. It was so weird to her that a summon could have a conversation with a person.

"That is none of your concern." replied Momba with a stern look. Turning to face Ryan his face once again displays his dislike for his pathetic master. "Either learn to call another, Or Die." he said coldly. Without a second later, the monkey master vanishes into a puff of smoke. Leaving Ryan to dwell on his own familiar's last words, which almost cause him to start crying once again. The only thing that stopped him was that he isn't alone in the room. Giving himself time to regain control over his emotions, he turns to Lindsey and says, "I hope you have a better relationship with your familiars then I do."

"Wait, what?" Lindsey asks, confused at the familiar's parting comments. So he could know something about Ryan, but was just too rude to help him out? And telling his master to die?! Now Lindsey was glad none of her familiars had the ability to talk, or were sentient at all, for that matter. "Er...well, I like to think I do. He's certainly a great partner for me. Here, I'll show you!" Placing her right hand out, Lindsey channels her magic power to the floor next to her, and out of a cloud of white smoke, a large four legged beast emerged into the room. The creature had long, spiky tan fur that went all the way across its body, with its head having small lion-like mane around it, but with a metallic wolf-like head that had a clearly canine snout. It growled slightly as it observed the room, then sat down obediently on the ground.
"He's cool, right? Anyway, was there anything else you wanted to see here?"

Ryan didn't hear the last thing that came out of Lindsey's mouth as his attention is completely captured by the beast that was just summoned. His eyes didn't even blink as he continues to study the creature. "Woooooow..." he uttered to no one in particular. He had never gotten the chance to see another familiar before besides Momba. He attempts to get close to the familiar, yet quickly backs away in fear when the lion/wolf growled. "This thing could probably eat me in a heartbeat!" he cried to himself in thought. It was only after it sits down does he start to move closer again. As he tries to not look so dorky after backing away so cowardly before, he asks his tour guide, "What's its name?" Ryan continues to focus on the creature, especially to see if he is a safe distance from it. He really doesn't want to try to piss this thing off.
