JHWAB Files GS-2015-6
*Localized Hidden World Concentration Event or LHWCE: A phenomenon in Hidden World “migration” patterns. There is no physical evidence of the reason for this event, at least not one that we can’t find, but the symptoms are clearly visible. A LHWCE happens when a Hidden World denizen surfaces in a mundane location and starts, without any visible method, to attract other Hidden World Denizen just by being there.
The Hidden World Relations are an intricate web of connections, as one Martial Artist might have fought a Yokai that once served an Omnyo Practitioner as a familiar while he fought against a minor deity corrupted by a western arcane arts wielder. This ever expanding web causes that a single individual trying to live in the mundane world attracts others to them, like moths to the flame. This is quite common in schools or other formative areas, if a Denizen tries to pass as Mundane.
This phenomenon is affectively nicknamed “The Shonen Effect” by some of our operatives, as it resembles a manga or anime, as one individual with superhuman capabilities ends up turning the school into a potential disaster zone when enemy clans, creatures or other Denizens end up, as they always do, at odds with each other. These potential disasters are easily detected thanks to the Mahoreiko Network and an especial team of young agents is deployed to infiltrate and contain the events in the locations.
But after the Incident of Sakurajima the JHWAB is stretched thin and this time around cannot deploy a full team, so they will send their youngest elite agent, Shin Bushitora, and his father Norio Bushitora to infiltrate the school as a student and a teacher respectively. Alongside them a group of Mercenaries or Bounty Hunters willing to play it cool and investigate the Nagareboshi Gakuen a small high school in Tokyo that is reaching a “Critical Mass” in Hidden World Activity, so they can find information about the parties involved and rein them in case it goes out of control.

About the School
Nagareboshi Gakuen
Nagareboshi Gakuen is a relatively new school, created at the start of this year. The school is private yet has a system of sports scholarships, mostly for Football (Soccer) and Rugby. The school grounds occupy 2 blocks in suburban Nagoya. It’s known for good science and liberal arts programs, with affiliations to several private universities of good reputation. Not many people know, but the buildings rests over what once was holy land, home to a shrine to Tenjin, one of the Shintoist Deities, in this case of learning.
Staff
Kuroki Hanamori
The Strict Headmaster of the school. Kuroki is a former vice-headmaster of another school who fired him for being overzealous. He was hired to this new school by the owners, hoping that his firm hand would guide the school on the first years. He rarely if not never comes out the building, he enters to work before dawn and leaves after dusk. He is a real hard worker.
Shiro Yukiyama
Lazy Science Teacher, very popular with the students, tends to sleep at free moment he has. His classes are quite easy to pass but he is truly skilled on his field, the problem is that he lacks any willpower whatsoever. His only passion is brewing strange concoctions on the lab and making poor students test them without them knowing. He also mans the school infirmary but his strange grin while sewing wounds make him quite feared among the students.
Aoi Hisaki
The Cool and Collected Math Teacher, intense on his passion for numbers and calculations, quite the paramount of academic knowledge in the school being a graduate of Tokyo University, everybody who knows him takes him for a very calm man, yet only a few notice the burning intensity under the tranquil façade. There is something off putting about his eyes that makes everybody a bit uneasy around him.
Chairo Mizumi
The Stylish and Hammy Literature Teacher, quite the romantic, fanatic of western writers, especially Shakespeare, he also serves as the school English Teacher. He was a college buddy of Aoi, but they don’t gel well, one being so calm while the other being a bit more happy-go-lucky. He has some sort of condition he hides behind his cheery demeanor. He doesn’t seem to be in good terms with the Headmaster.
Ikki Ryusei
The Strange and Disciplined P.E. Teacher, from the faculty he is the least popular with students thanks to his Spartan-like trainings during P.E. He is really popular with the Martial Arts Clubs and the Rugby Team, who train under him since the start of classes aiming towards the nationals. He suffers from a severe allergy to sunlight and covers his face with a helmet and his hands with gloves. He seems to be in amicable terms with the rest of the staff. Bad rumors say he used to be in a motorcycle gang.
Students
Seicho Matsumoto
An fan of noir literature and amateur detective Seicho feels that something is off in his school, like a mystery biting him behind the next taunting him to discover it. He is quite happy-go-lucky and friendly, but he has some paranoid tendencies and some strange OCD-ish rituals, like washing his hands 3 times and always doing everything that needs to be done multiple times in odd numbers.
Fathiya Thompson
Kenyan/American teen who entered the school thanks to a sport scholarship. She is the star of the track and athletics team. She is faster than any teen in Japan, capable of holding her own against Olympic Representatives. Fathiya is single mindedly pursuing victory with overzealous training and effort. Some say she is a bit cold to others, but nobody who has ever seen her ran can deny the passion she puts to each step she takes.
Rian Seimei
A young lady of a good family, with a long tradition dating back to the Heian period, Rian’s family is known for their uncanny good luck, as they seem to always side with the winners or each war, or avoid disaster by mere inches through intelligent investments and decisions. She is extremely wealthy, but she doesn’t allow that to get to her head. She is humble and caring, always taking in account others before her satisfying her own needs.
Uwasa Samui
If you need to find out something about anybody in the school Uwasa is your gal, just don’t call her that… or treat her with familiarity… or you might get a cold shoulder of epic proportions. Uwasa is an aloof and detached girl who is the unofficial information broker of the school. She knows every juicy gossip and isn’t afraid to use the information to her advantage. She is the hidden queen of the school, a queen nobody pisses off if they want to keep their reputation intact.
Hai Churitsu
The President of the Student Council and main force of discipline in the school after the staff, she is relentless on her search for law & order in the school and constantly keeps tabs in the dangerous elements of the school. Uwasa spends a good chunk of her time trying to find dirt on her, but fails. Hai is a proficient martial artist and a straight A student. Her perceived perfection in the eyes of others is only impeded by her emotionless demeanor; she is almost robotic when it comes to human interaction apart from orders and punishments.
Kiba, Tsume and Tsubasa
The Delinquent Trio of Nagareboshi Gakuen, they know each other since pre-school and they have been always been together. Kiba is the muscle, yet he is the most academically gifted of the bunch, he is a big eater and a consummated brawler, he was kicked from the Rugby team. Tsume is the brain of the group, he is astute, comes from a wealthy family and plays in the Rugby team as the Fullback. Tsubasa is the heart, he is frail and weak, but he tends to be the one with the most charisma, something the other two thank when they need help with a date or to get out of a situation with the authorities.
Uran Bakuhatsu
A happy-go-lucky teen, she is a bit ditzy and clumsy. These cute yet quite dangerous traits got her the nickname “The Disaster in a Skirt” around town. She causes a lot of damage by accident, as if bad luck followed her everywhere. Her family owns a fireworks factory, as they have a long history of homemade pyrotechnics as artisans, some of their ancestors even making fireworks for great lords, or being the firsts to produce gunpowder in enormous quantities, that’s why, is more than obvious that she doesn’t lives with her family for safety reasons.
Akire Sokudo
The Ace of the Rugby Team, an athlete of colossal skill and talent, Akire is a prodigy through and through capable of playing in almost any position but mostly focused as a record scoring Wing. He is fast, strong and durable, capable of tackling, passing and running at national levels. He can be a bit egocentric, but he isn’t lacking reasons to be as even if the other players are good he is superb. He comes from a low income family, getting to the school through a scholarship. His thirst for victory is unmatched. He is in a relation with Genki Kansei, the head cheerleader.
Genki Kansei
Head of the Nagareboshi Cheerleading Squad, Genki is an eternal optimist always active, either with work in school or off campus doing voluntary work. Her dream is becoming a nurse and she serves as Professor Yukiyama’s helper in the infirmary from time to time. She is in a relation with Akire Sokudo, yet is more a matter of mutual friendship with hints of protection than a truly romantic relationship. They are more than friends but less than a couple. The only person she dislikes in the whole school is the P.E. Teacher Kii Ryusei, as there are some nasty rumors about him.
Aishi Kajin & Yasui Kenka
Best bros ever Aishi and Yasui are neighbours from their youngest years. They were friends from the get go as their mothers knew each other and always got them both together to play. Aishi is more soft-hearted and takes himself for a poet and a singer, two things he is pretty good at, while Yasui is the hot-blooded of the pair, always getting into fights and being more about his knuckles than his thoughts. They could be called delinquents but their reasons for vandalism always veer more to Aishi trying to make some kind of artistic statement and Yasui playing along.
Kiko & Kichi Karakuri
Twins, sister and brother, Football Otaku, captains of the Junior High teams. They are inseparable and tend to hang out with the same friends. They are extremely popular on Junior High being the most successful of all the students. Their friendly demeanor also helps, as well their humility as they always compare themselves to their older brother Ken, who is the ace of the High School team. Kiko has a crush on Tsubasa from the delinquent trio. Kichi doesn’t seem to be interested in anybody. They might be good on their own but when playing side by side they are godlike, is a shame their genders stop them from playing in the same team during tournaments.
Ken Karakuri
The Ace Scorer in the Football team, he has a very hectic schedule working for a professional team so he tends to get a free pass on classes, but he always delivers his homework and assignments. Is clear he is the one who taught his siblings as he has every good habit and skill he passed to them, but as they specialize in defense or attack they aren’t as good as Ken, who is superb in both fields. He is as popular as Akire, even if his appearances around school are more sporadic, or maybe even more as he isn’t arrogant and always tries to better himself, rather than be an egocentric ass.
Yuudai Mienai
The resident wallflower, nobody notices him, nobody knows how he got to the school, his grades are average, he isn’t athletic and he tends to be unnoticed by the students and staff. Yuudai is a gentle young man who enjoys gardening, cooking and cleaning. He isn’t obsessed about it but he likes things being neat and tidy. He has few friends and even they barely know about him. His best friend is Seicho, but he tends to be overshadowed by the eccentricities of the Teen Detective when they are hanging out together. Yuudai has a single notable trait, he always ends up were trouble is, yet nobody notices him.
Takane Takara
A gentle and beautiful student, the “mother” of her class, she is above average in grades, a proficient cook and a good listener. She is the manager of the Soccer Team, a fact that make some think to link her romantically to Ken Karakuri, yet both of them deny such connection and their affirmation is backed by Uwasa, who never found any evidence of the fact. She is only irritated by people who doesn’t take medical rest seriously, something she always has to enforce on the High School Football team members.
Angeline Virtuel
A French/British Exchange student, Angeline is an extremely talented programmer and, as rumors say, hacker. She is stoic, distant and cerebral, trying to analyze everything through cold logic instead of emotion. She clearly dislikes everybody and everything in the school and is the only individual Uwasa doesn’t dare to piss off. She might be one of the smartest students in Nagareboshi Gakuen, but her lack of interest in any humanistic or physical subject makes her lose in the general rankings.
