On the very edge of China, just where it met Korea, the Tiānchí lake sits atop a mountain. A tour boat floated on a perfectly blue mirror reflecting a perfectly blue sky. Nervous eyes were out for monsters, but not the ones rumored to live in the lake. It was a bit more sparsely populated than usual, tourists drawn away by the strange accidents surrounding the lake. The serene and lonely location had driven so odd tourists in as the people went out.
A bold young girl leaned over the edge of the boat, looking for monsters swimming below. They had to be in here somewhere, and she was going to catch them. She didn't see the dark figure clambering into the boat behind her, spidery limbs sprawling. The monster she had missed opened fanged jaws and reached for her. "There you are! Do not leave my sight like that ever again." Ariana was shaken roughly and pulled to the creature's side as it took a less spindly, more human form. "But I need to catch the monsters making the storms!" Ariana claimed.
Past the shore, somebody was attempting to do just that. And horribly failing. Deep claw marks, exposing her steel skull, closed when she willed it, but it took just as much time to heal a three more slashes across her chest took to be inflicted. She snarled and swung her little blade at the white blur, but it was gone and behind her before she could move half a foot. A massive swipe tore her coat, flinging her to the ground. Eve scrambled in the gravel, but the beast put a great paw on her back and bit deep. Eve was only saved by her unappetizing endoskeleton. The beast released her in disgust and roared, punishing her with lightning from the sky. She howled as blast after blast pounded her into the stone below her body.
When the barrage finally ended, she was alone in newfound rain, dark clouds in the sky. She pulled herself up, body knitting itself back to a recognizable, if damaged, shape. She sat into a kneeling position and activated the phone in her head. "Hey, Garo. I need you at Lake Tianchi, the one at the border of China and Korea. Bring me a case of replacement parts and the big yellow case in my room." She changed numbers. "Alex. Lake Tianchi. I'll pay you and you can have the body." Alex was easy to convince. Last number. "Falken, I'm at Lake Tianchi. It's lovely here, but there's a bit of a monster problem. I'm offering you money and sex in a beautiful location. You in?"

Democratic Republic of Congo – Nearby KanangaA building stood over a solitary hill in the middle of a praire. Originally built hundreds of years ago, taking advantage of the peculiar rock formations to further increase the defense of this fortress. Many people served as the masters of this bastion, but none of them survived the sturdy structure. Yet we don’t care about the history, but we care about the present as the current owner is about to turn into the previous one. The currently owner was a warlord by the name of Pierre Mabaya or General Mabaya. He has been wrestling control from the government using his wealth and military power. Taking advantage of the civil unrest he remained untouched by the authorities as many think of him like a liberator who promises wealth and food for those who follow him. Yet he tortures, blackmails and intimidates those in his way. For that behavior somebody with wealth and influence who didn’t want the country to be as unstable as it currently was, decided that Mabaya should be taken out of the picture, thus he hired an assassin. And who else could be hired but the Infamous Mercenary himself, Falken Degiraz. The bastion of Mabaya was in chaos, as the Dual Wielding Grim Reaper, armed with the Tsugami Shining Guns left a trail of charred bodies behind him. But he wasn’t alone. -Master, be careful!- Somebody shouted at Falken, as one of the Mabaya’s soldiers tried to jump from a ledge over the Mercenary to take him by surprise. That was a mistake, as the soldier discovered when a split second after Velvela Gedide, Falken’s Inazuma Apprentice, shouted he was cut in half by the radiant bullets of the Tsugami Shining Guns. As he shot another poor soldier who peeked out of his cover Falken turned to face the Inazuma Student. -I already knew he was there girl, don’t need to be bloody dramatic about it.- Some of the Kadoya Surveillance Droids orbited around Falken and he pointed at them. –These beauties give me the information I need to survive, remember that girl, knowing is half the battle…- A troop of soldiers came in as reinforcements, crashing through the half destroyed gates of the fortress. Without even a drop of sweat Falken exchanged the Tsugami Guns for the Sonozaki Wind Cannon with the Hidari Module attached. -The other half is firepower. - Falken activated the insanely powerful handheld wind cannon shooting 450 km/h (Roughly 280 mph) at them. The Soldiers couldn’t even lift their guns before the blast of wind flung them backwards making them crash through the walls and structures like meat bullets. Velvela looked at her teacher with a smile and said. –Wouldn’t that be windpower?- Falken sighed and looked at her with a bit of frustration. –When we get back we need to work on your one-liners… rule of cool outclasses logic.-Both Master and Apprentice walked into the main building, Falken changing to the Tendo Variable Weapon, more suitable for CQC combat. They reaped through the waves of defenders, The Mercenary with prodigious ease while his student worked with cold efficiency, moving from cover to cover with professional seal. In matter of moments the whole hallway was “clean” of enemies (yet not clean at all) and they reached the office of General Mabaya. He was behind his desk pointing at them with a revolver, a very fancy revolver, all gold plated and with decorations. -Oh look at that, little general has a gun, do you want to use your gun?- Falken talked to the ruthless warlord as if he was talking to a toddler, managing to make the General anger eclipse his fear. He stood up enraged and shouted at Falken. –What do you think you’re doing!? Don’t you know who am I you American Dog?- The Mercenary looked at him with his eyes wide open and laughed. Mabaya was confused by Falken’s reaction and every time he tried to ask what was so funny but he was constantly interrupted by the Mercenary’s fit of laughter. Even Velvela was starting to be weirded out by her teacher. Finally he stopped chuckling, even cleaning his left eye that was tearing up after the laughter. Falken did think it was hilarious to be called an American, when he didn’t know much about his own nationality, but truly this was a ploy to hide in plain sight he changed his weapons once again. This time around he had the Hino Freeze Ray equipped and shot the African Warlord, creating a thick layer of ice around him. He returned the weapon back to the Arsenal and turned to Velvela. –Idiots who think themselves more important that what they are tend to be easily distracted if you insult them, the real tricky part is knowing where to strike you need to find the most vuln-*Falken’s ringtone for Eve*The Mercenary pull out his cell phone as he waves his head, surprised and disappointed to see Velvela taking notes. –Hello Harper… aha….aha….hum… okay… I’m in…. I’ll be there in…- He looked his watch. – 10 hours, 12 tops, I need to finish a job here and I’ll go directly there… I’m taking my intern with me, she really needs the exercise.- The Mercenary smirked. –I’ll see you then.- He hanged up and turned to his student. -Pack your things girl, we are going to China.- Velvela nodded and started leaving but stopped before going out the door and asked. –Wait, what about the target?- Falken snapped his fingers as if she made him remember it. –Good call, it was your turn to kill him.- She looks at her mentor with uneasiness. –I don’t know, killing an unarmed and immobilized man doesn’t seem honorable.- Falken snorted at her naivette. - Honor is the weakspot of the people too dumb to know better, I already told you that… but I get your point, maybe this is too hard for a little girl like you.- Velvela was pissed about that moniker, but she stoically ignored the insult. –I’m going to pack my things.- Falken looked at her with only a hint of compassion and decided to give her a little push. -You know…- She turned around to face him. –This guy used children soldiers.- Velvela’s eye started twitching. –And he killed a lot of them while training them.- The Israeli Super Soldier clenched her hand around her SMG. –And did you see the pit covered in fabric outside the fortress walls, that was the children communal gr.-Before he could finish the sentence Velvela’s SMG booming in the room interrupted him. She started walking into the room discharging every of his numerous firearms on the Warlord. Falken left while saying. –Good girl, I’ll be waiting outside until you finish, good call shooting his limbs first, he needs to be awake if you want to make him suffer all the pain.-Falken lighted up a hand rolled cigar as he waited outside the room, hearing the beautiful music of the target being tortured, he wasn’t a goody two shoes, but he must admit that being an instrument of Karma had it perks, not to mention that this was the only kind of missions he could take with Velvela as an intern. Wild Hunt HQGaro was sharpening his equipment while he hummed, since he left Inazuma he felt like a new man. Almost as if Hunting was the only thing that could make his heart pump blood. He should thank Eve more often for giving him a job, as the other alternative was going back to the JHWAB and he couldn’t handle being a pencil pusher. He was a Hunter, he was a Warrior, and the only tombstone he required was his bow and a couple of arrows in the middle of a battlefield or an exotic forest. As he prepared his new quiver, with cold iron arrows, titanium arrows, explosive tipped arrows and other goodies Falken’s contacts made for him, even if he disliked the Mercenary on a personal level Garo admitted that he had great equipment, his communicator started ringing. He could have shifted to a cell phone, but he kept a featureless device from his JHWAB days, it was stripped of the Mahoureiko connection, but it had great coverage. -Okay Harper-san, I’ll go there as soon as I can.- Garo picked his equipment and went towards Eve’s sector of the Armory. She explained him some of the stuff he needed to know and he picked what she requested with ease. He only hoped that she would have explained more about the situation at had so he could prepare accordingly. With that in mind he left the HQ towards a private plane (another benefit of having contacts all around the world) and set course to China. Superficially he hoped this wasn’t anything serious, but deep inside the Hunter growled in anticipation of getting new prey.

A man painted with blood walks out of a ominous room devoid of any light and full of sinister acts. As the creaking, rusty metal door swings back into place to seal the room, the exposure lasts for only the shortest fraction of a second, yet it was enough time for the overwhelming stench to escape into the narrow and eerie hallway. As the torturer closes the door, he notices within the small gap between the door frame and the door, that he had forgot to place the severe hand laying on the decrepit floor onto the rotten wooden table in the corner of the vicious room, which was decorate with numerous gruesome body parts of humans and others. He glares at the sealed door for a few moments in complete silence. The thoughts going through the irregular individual was intense as he struggles to determine his next step.
Before a decision could be made, his phone begins to ring. The electronic noise invokes a few trifling and feeble mumbles from the room's most recent inhabitant and the man in front of the door responses with a sly smile spreading across his face. He accepts the call and listens to Eve's sudden proposition. Without saying a single word, he hangs up and proceeds to walk through the spine-chilling hallway. Passing through, he walks by various other metallic doors that are similar to the one that he had just emerge from a minute ago. Eventually, he finds himself at the end of the hallway, where a slender staircase is located. Slowly moving up the ancient steps, the man whispers in a disturbing voice, "I'm going to need room for a new visitor." Hours later...
Alex drives his rental car into an isolated area, where he parks his ride at least a few miles away from his destination. Since his last visit in China, he learned to be as independent as possible when it comes to his method of transportation. Opening the front door, he gets out of the ugly and deformed automobile. Looking around, he takes in the environment in a leisurely fashion as he walks to Lake Tianchi. His face was stuck on a particular grin that could cause children and babies to cry and panic in fear. Yet for him, this was just the face he makes when he is gets excited.

Eve limped back from the lakeside, whole on the surface but twisted below. This asshole had a hell of a bite. She felt like its jaws were still closed tight around her limbs, crushing like a vice. She slowly drug herself to the nearby village, knowing her comrades were hours off. The town was sparse, nearly abandoned with the growing mortality rate around the lake. Even now, an unnaturally powerful storm raged overhead. The violent wind was strong enough to whip her heavy coat like a flag. The heavy rain was at least refreshing on her skin. And so she didn't go home to her hotel room, instead continuing to the main road in. They'd have to pass her entering the village. She leaned against the sign and slumped in the mud. It was comfortable. Like the wet sand of Nassau, where although it rained little, she had always looked forward to the storms. The thunder was so much like a cannon. She smiled and tilted her hat over here eyes. Within a few minutes, she was dreaming of home.
___
Warden didn't like this sudden storm. He had assumed the weather changing was simply a result of what the humans had done to their planet, and the locals were being superstitious when they left, giving him a nice, quiet place to raise an increasingly unstable Ariana. But now, he had the feeling it was supernatural. He turned to the ferry's pilot. "We should be going back." He spoke in perfect Mandarin Chinese. The ferry master gave him a wide-eyed look. The girl was alone when she boarded. There was nobody else on board. "Yes, sir!" This man could have swam, but his clothing should be more soaked if that was the case. Any other way, and he had no idea what this thing was. Perhaps what was killing everybody. There was no way he was risking angering it.
As they turned back to shore, Warden felt something that made him grasp Ariana (bitterly protesting their return to shore) tighter. There was now no doubt in his mind that this situation was supernatural. He sensed one of his offspring. He narrowed his eyes and looked intently in the direction he knew she lay, even if he couldn't see more than a few feet in this rain.

As he walks, the mighty storm was getting stronger and stronger. The rain from the cloudy skies come down faster and faster. The sensation was similar to being underneath a waterfall, except that it was stretching across the sky in all directions. Then on top of all of these conditions, he had to deal with the mighty winds that was blowing him back. Alex needed to put some effort into every step he was taking to ensure balance. HIs long, white, and currently drench hair warps around the structure of his face as he makes his way to the village.
He eventually stops at sign, where he spots a certain woman in the mud. He stands over her for a few seconds without making a sound, and even if he did say something to her, the wind would probably carry his words to the other side of town. Regardless of the storm, he was going to remain silent by personal habits anyway, Slowly he examines the female with the sound of thunder roaring all around them. He notices that she was sleeping peacefully and she seem to find delight whenever the sound of thunder echoes above them, it was as if the storm was a sweet lullaby for her.

Garo arrived to a nearby location to Eve’s and decided to make the last part on the travel on foot. Yet this wouldn’t take long for him as he placed two Omnyo charms, the ones that allowed him to run with the wind, that enhanced his move speed way over a care, especially in difficult terrain like the one he was about to thread. He had to keep a constant usage of Ki to enhance his body so he could carry Eve’s stuff. He would ask for a raise if his back didn’t break from the pressure.
He arrived to the town in no time, as the dark clouds loomed over the small spot of civilization. –Harper-san! Where are you?- Taking cover from the storm under a half ruined roof, Garo tries to find his comrade, but the heavy rain, natural enemy of any tracker, was stopping him from locating her, as the water washed the prints, clouded his sight and numbed the scents, not to mention covered any sounds.
Falken and Velvela flew over the zone, just over the clouds. The hangar door of the plane creaked as it opened. The cold and humid wind entered the black of the plane that shook slightly. Velvela gulped nervously as she saw the thundering clouds under them. The Mercenary took some steps forward towards the exit and through the commlink of their suits (High-altitude Suits) he asked.
-What’s the problem little girl? Scared of heights much?- He smirked behind the visor when he saw Velvela once again taking offense to that. –Don’t get upset, come closer and I’ll go first so you can see the proper technique to pierce through the bloody clouds like a bloody badass meteor.- She seemed reluctant to advance until Falken added. –This isn’t a request is an order as your appointed mentor.-
The Inazuma Super Soldier advanced to the rim of the hangar door, looking down with clear fear. Thanks to that slip of her guard she didn’t notice Falken cutting her safety line with a knife. She only realized it when she saw the strap flying into the vast darkness below. -Why did you doWHOA!- Velvela glared at Falken who without much worries kicked her off the plane. Velvela had to make use of all her discipline not to shout. Falken, on the other hand, decided to shout.
-THIS IS SPARTA!-
Before jumping behind her, so they could both go through the clouds and reach Eve’s location. The only problem was that with such storm Falken was reduced to smaller weapons, as the charged air wasn’t good for his link to the Hyper Space Arsenal he was renting to that crazy old techno-wizard.

Eve opened her eyes. She saw hat. She tilted this up to see Alex's boots in the mud. "Hey Alex. How long were you standing there?" She felt she was oddly safe with the creep watching her. Sure, he seemed to be very dangerous to his enemies, but he didn't have that sort of creepiness to him. She jumped to her feet and glanced around. Looked like he was alone. Worked for her. The others were still under the impression she didn't sleep at all, and while she trusted Garo entirely, she didn't want Falken's stares and potential prods.
Eve pushed herself up using the sign as a base. Glancing around again, she realized that they were absolutely nowhere in sight, even with her massively superhuman eyesight. Once again, she activated the phone in her head, this time contacting Garo and Falken both at once. "If you're looking for me, there's only one village on the lake. I'm at the entrance." That ought to help. "So Alex, how have you been?"

Alex doesn't respond, but rather he takes a few steps forward and continues to stare at her for a while. After a moment of long awkward silence he finally speaks, yet he doesn't bother to respond to Eve's question, rather he asks his own question instead in his ghoulish voice, "Are you okay?" He looks at her body and examines it with his eyes. It seem that she had just come back from a fierce fight. He looks into her eyes and he tries to search for her mental condition. Eve was someone who he knew can handle herself in a fight and if she return from a fight this wounded, then Alex couldn't avoid to underestimate the foe. He slowly spreads his fingers and brings them together as he waits for his comrade's answer.

Garo heard Eve’s message and the entrance of the town. The Old Archer threaded on the muddy streets towards the opposite side of the village, where Eve was. In matter of minutes, his wind charms already spent, he arrived to the location and saw Alex and Eve. –Stevenson-dono, what a surprise to meet you here, did Harper-san request your assistance?- The Old Hunter could only hope that Eve only called Alex, he didn’t want to deal with Falken today. He turned to Eve, who looked a bit beat up.
–Now I understand why you needed the pieces… did you bite more than what you could chew?- He asked without sarcasm or ill intent on his voice, maybe with a hint of worry, but nothing akin to mockery.
Falken and Velvela crossed the black clouds like bullets, spinning around so their HAJ suits would activate their capabilities. The suits were made in Inazuma Gakuen, a through careful maneuvering they can slow down the fall of the user to a crawl, thanks to their design. Through the commlink, that was properly designed to block out the roaring of the wind, Velvela asked a very important question.
-When do we open the parachutes? - Falken heard the question and started laughing, something got Velvela really worried.
-Why are you laughing!? This isn’t funny! Where is the parachute!?- Velvela’s ferrous discipline started cracking on the prospect of turning into a smudge in Chinese floor (Not the way she wanted to die)
Finally Falken managed to regain control of his speech, even if he added some chuckles as he spoke. –These are wing-suits, they don’t have parachutes, they membrane under the arms and between the legs activates on its own when we reach the proper altitude.- The Mercenary talked with tone that jokingly parodied a parent. –Didn’t you study before the test young lady?-
-I know they explained about these suits in class, but I was busy at the moment. - Falken snorts and asks. –Busy with what?-
-I was…l….a…a…g…- Velvela voice turned into an inaudible whisper as she flustered. The Infamous Mercenary quickly caught on. –AHAHAHAHAHAH The ice cold Super Soldier’s discipline finally defeated! AHAHAHAH- Falken kept laughing as their suits activated and slowed their descents. –Defeated by hormones… ahahhahahah.-
Both landed and pressed one of the buttons in an electronic pad on the suit chest. The fabric retracted into a can-like structure formed with the metallic pieces of the suit. With Falken still chuckling after finding out Velvela’s distraction was because of a guy, both started marching towards the nearby village, with the young Inazuma Student giving her mentor the silent treatment after being mocked by him.

Eve nodded to Alex. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's hard to kill me. Probably a good thing." She instantly lost interest in him when Garo walked into sight. "Garo! Good to see you!" She limped over and hugged him. She shrugged when he asked her about her injuries. "I thought I could take him. Him being a big white tiger that runs fast and makes storms. I ran into a snag when he tore me apart." She shrugged her limbs open, dumping out crushed up metal pieces to become a formless mass sliding from Garo's arms to open her part cases. She enveloped the new endoskeleton and stood tall, opening the yellow case. A long, rounded rectangular object with two sharp prongs at the end lay within. She stretched one arm, still boneless, wrapped around the new weapon and absorbed it. Excellent. "So, either of you see Falken?"

Alex remains unresponsive as always to Eve and Garo's questions for a while and just continues with his own agenda. He walks around a bit and pays attention his surrounds, trying to spot anything interesting with his creepy eyes. As he examines the town, he tries to image what it might have been like to live here before everything went to hell. What could have happen to cause this incident.... he keeps saying to himself. As he searches for clues, he eventually begins to question the circumstances of the events occurring at this moment in his head and trying to piece them together with his past experiences. Alexander moves towards the others and he finally speaks, "I don't know where Falken is, but we will probably hear him before we see him." said Alex in a very straightforward tone of voice.

-I’m glad you’re okay.- Garo said calmly as Eve hugged him. As the Huntress repaired herself with the parts he brought, the Old Archer took the moment to look around and breath in the atmosphere, something was amiss. That feeling distracted him from Eve’s words until two things got his attention and he looked at her with shock on his eyes. –Did you just say “Big White Tiger that runs fast and create storms?” While we are in China?- Garo sighed and rubbed his nose as he lowered his head in frustration.
-You tried to fight one on one against a creature in the weight class of Suzaku? - Garo’s tone changed to the one he used when he talked to his son. –Are you out of your mind? Are you? - The Old Archer started pacing nervously. –You picked a fight with a deity and you didn’t check before starting the fight? - He was too jumpy to listen to Eve, thus he missed her question about Falken. The Veteran Hunter started looking around, trying to think of a plan. –We either need to leave right now or we prepare this place as a trap, fortify it and prepare for the worst.-
As he looked around, to set on his mind to care he finally heard Alex asking. The Old Archer glared at Alex and walked towards Eve. –Don’t tell me you called that unprofessional hack!-
-You should watch your bloody tongue fossilized old fart, or I might give you a lead indigestion.-
Garo, once again, sighed in frustration when he heard the mocking and easily recognizable voice of Falken Degiraz. The Veteran Hunter started muttering between his teeth. –Why me God? Why me? – As Falken and Velvela entered into scene, both in full tactical gear. Velvela was a 5’9’’ young woman with black hair, grey hair and dressed with a school uniform under full tactical gear and a veritable arsenal of weapons.
-Sorry I got here late Harper, I had to give my intern here the first lesson about jumping from a plane without a parachute.- The Mercenary smiled cockily as he advanced toward Eve. –So what’s the problem here? And why did you call old man waterfall and Quasimodo? I'm not enough to solve any problem on my own?- Falken smirked. -That offends me...-

Eve shrugged. "Hey, I did my research. I knew it was Byakku. I just thought Suzaku had a boost from that medal and he'd be easier to take down." When Falken showed up, she ignored his bickering with Garo when she saw his apprentice. "She's so cute!" She exclaimed, scooping the young mercenary off the ground with a big hug. "Aright, that's enough you two. I wanted as many hands as possible here, because like Garo said, this thing is about as tough as Suzaku." She turned back to the others, still holding Velvela. "Alex, you're the expert on traps, so you'll help fortify the town. Garo, I'd like you to help me find it and lure it back here. Falken, I need to know your cutie's abilities and weaponry so I can place you and her properly."

Not saying anything to anyone again, the man silently stares and waits until conversations around him were finished. Alex nods his head at Eve's commit of making traps for the entire town. He looks around, tying to find the best spots to play his wires, but at the same time he didn't want to place them anywhere that the incredibly sharp wires could possible get in the way for his teammates. Plus, he didn't want to ruin their bodies with his new wire threads, especially since he finds enjoyment from the group's camaraderies. Also, since his last adventure with the group, he had been busy crafting a new wire thread material with the resources acquire from their last mission together in China. Not only that, but he has also been trying to test out new techniques, which includes Alex's new traps variations. Grinning at the thought of getting to use his new ideas and toys, he begins to walk to a group of building as he thinks that he will start here and make his way around. When he finishes, whole sections of the town was going to become massive death traps.

-Ms. Gedide here? She knows how to kick-ass and take names if that’s what you’re asking. - Falken smirked as he talked. –She sucks at jumping off planes though. - Velvela, who was still caught between blushed heavily from the embarrassment. Garo, who was checking his gear, shook his head frustrated on Falken’s attitude.
-You never take anything seriously, do you Degiraz? Last time we got together to fight a Deity we barely won thanks to divine intervention.- Garo spoke gravely as he glared at Falken.
-No, I don’t take anything seriously, or better bloody said I never take anything seriously that doesn’t deserve to be…- He returned the glare with equal hateful intensity. – And I call bloody bullshit on the Divine Intervention.- The Mercenary smirked brimming with arrogance. -I could have taken that bloody thing if you didn’t force me to use a download before the mission.-
The Old Hunter seemed to be about to reply the cheeky remarks of Falken but once again shook his head and decided to focus on being productive. He turned to Eve. –What Degiraz didn’t tell you is that Velvela Gedide, the girl you’re possibly blocking from breathing with your hug. - He pointed at her.
Velvela was tapping, like in wrestling, at Eve arm trying to get her attention. Garo resumed talking. – She is an expert marksman, adept ki-user and great tactical thinker, in Inazuma she is known as The Super Soldier. - The Old Archer sneered. – But don’t let the nom d’ guerre fool you, she is known in Inazuma like that… is a “big fish in a little pond” situation…-
The Archer checked the straps of his quiver. –I vote for her to leave, especially if we are up against a Sacred Beast.- He spoke without looking at Velvela, as if the student wasn’t there.

Eve noticed Alex wandering off. "Hey, please don't set up any traps just yet. I don't want the civilians walking into them. See if you can get all the villagers here. Feel free to use your charming grin to convince them." She glanced down at the young woman in her arms, noticing her face becoming blue. She opened her arms to drop her and gave her a pat on the back. "You'd better help Alex out. His people skills aren't the best." She gave Velvela a friendly but condescending smile and little shove to get her moving.
Giving the remaining two, her favorite here but such bitter enemies, a long look, she reached out and put a hand on each's shoulder. "Knock it off. We've got a real threat here. Next person to start an argument goes right to the tiger's teeth. Got it?" She smiled, but her hand tightened to a painful grip on Falken's shoulder.
___
Slowly, the boat drifted to the pier. The only passengers shuffled off, the captain following quickly. With no new passengers waiting, there was no need to stay on board. The captain was one of many swiftly going broke in lack of tourists caused by the strange disappearances and brutal weather. "Come on Ariana. Let's get out of the rain and get you dry." "Can we stay out and watch the lightening, Dad? There was a lot when we were on the boat!" "No. Move." Warden herded his daughter into the town, hoping to get Ariana into the inn they were staying in before his spawn noticed him.

Alex stops in his tracks as Eve mentions the word people and sighs to himself. He didn't want a distraction bothering him from doing what he loves to do. Turning around he looks at Eve and others with a creepy face that would scare normal people. He never move a muscle or said a word as he waits for the young girl to aid him. From personal experience he knew he was never able to convince people to do anything or go with him.... well at least not without using some of his more "clever tactics" at the very least. Still, he was somewhat interested in seeing the reactions and feelings of the twins people. It was always fascinating to him to study people under stress and fear. It was one of the many reasons he enjoyed "questioning" creatures.
As Alex waits patiently for the group to get going, he starts to study the young girl more. His ghoulish eyes glue to her and they wouldn't let go of her sight. The man was curious about her and wanted to find out more. Now, for him this was not some weird interest for girls, but rather that he was wondering how she was going to be able to handle the situation she was currently in. A faint smile appears on his face as he was excited to see the events unfold here soon.

Velvela finally caught her breath, she knew Eve didn’t mean any harm, but that kind of strength was dangerous, if Garo didn’t intervened before she would have to tap with a hand gun rather than her hands to get the Huntress attention. She heard Eve’s order and looked at Falken as if she was asking permission. The Mercenary smirked. –From this point onward her orders are as good or even better than mine.-
He started speaking in a much more serious tone. -Mercenary 101 if somebody hires you they own you, no matter how against you’re to the orders you do them… you’re getting paid for that.- His smirk gets wider. –But considering you’re my bloody unpaid intern then you need to do what she asks because I say so.- Velvela contained the desires to sigh, Falken really knew how to get under the Super Soldier Student skin.
As Velvela left, Eve got in between the bickering Mercenary and Archer and stopped them from arguing. –Okay, don’t get your panties twisted Eve, I’m sure we can pull this off!- Falken smiled nervously as he felt the steely grip of the Huntress fingers on his shoulder. Garo, with a strange face (try to contain his desires to laugh) added. –Agreed Harper, if we play our cards better than last time I think we might be able to defeat Byakko with little effort if we need to.-
Meanwhile Velvela followed Alex, crept out by the Grotesque Hunter demeanor. The Super Soldier Student hoped to find somebody else, as she didn’t like the way Alexander was looking at her.

Eve loosened her grip on Falken's shoulder to pull him into a hug. "Don't worry about that. Pantie twisting is for later." She whispered into his ear. Releasing him, she nodded to Garo. "We weren't prepared last time. Let's fix that. Byakku can summon storms, as you can tell by the downpour, and is really, really, fast. Otherwise, he seems pretty normal for a giant, potentially sapient tiger although I'm not actually sure why he's killing people all of a sudden." She regarded them both with respect. "Any input on the plan for getting rid of him? Alex isn't chatty, and Velvela's a bit young."

Ariana skipped gleefully in the mud, stomping in every puddle Warden couldn't keep her out of. She looked up to wipe soaked strands of hair from her face and her eyes widened. Was that her sister standing in the rain? "Eve!" Who were the people with her? The weird guy must be a new boyfriend. The old guy she was less sure of. And were the middle Eastern girl and really weird old guy coming towards her and Warden with Eve?
Before she could find out, Warden grabbed her arm and drug her to the door of the inn, not bothering with keys as he used a tendril to perfectly fit the lock and drag her inside. "Dad! That was Eve! Maybe she wants to apologize for leaving us!" Warden tilted his head to look her in the eye. "Honey, your sister will never be welcome with us again. I get that you love her, but she hates you and wants to hurt you now." Ariana's lip quivered and Warden hugged her to his chest. His eyes remained on the door, not looking down at the little girl he held.

Alex didn't pay any attention the Ariana and Warden's arrival as his focus was on the Velvela. Alex looks at her and tries to study the advantages and disadvantages of having this female be his companion. Not saying a word to her at all, the odd man continues to stare without a hint of stopping anytime soon. The air around Alexander is almost vibrating with the strangest that erupts from his presence. People normally couldn't even stand to be within eyesight distance from him, let alone walk towards him. He himself had no real clue why people were so easily frighten or nervous by his appearance. Yet again, he was so use to the terrifying monsters that he hunts down, to him all humans look gentle in comparison for the most part, including himself. At least judging by physical characteristics alone and not by the observable behavior. Still not making a noise, the disfigured man waits for the girl to move on with the mission given to them by Eve.
