Huntsman tore his way through the ghouls, ducking aside just before the demilich's eyebeams surged through, vaporizing a few unlucky undead. He would make that stupid skull his chew toy. He clawed his way through another ghoul, but there were dozens more and the corrosive aura of the ghast in the room was beginning to eat away at him. The skinless beast backed away and reconsidered his options. Just as the maniacal skull turned its burning gaze upon him once more and he denied just how much he was screwed again, a white blur flew into the ghast with enough force to pulp its entire chest. A surprised skull fell to the ground to be stomped upon by a metal-clad foot. Huntsman didn't have a second of hesitation in lunging forward to bring bony blades through the chests of the sorcerers guarding the skull on the pedestal. As they fell, he brought his fist down on the demilich and it was a bloodied pile of bone.
He chuckled and looked at his new companion, a humanoid, slim, clearly female, covered entirely in a white exoskeleton. She was distinctly insectoid, with her mask displaying antennae and compound eyes, lacking any other features. "It's been a long time, Huntsman." She said sweetly and with a stirring familiarity (sweet tones, voice is kind of deep, almost androgynous but not naturally) before seeing the people who were living just a second ago lying at his feet. "How... HOW DARE YOU!" Huntsman just blinked at the sudden mood swing, eyes widening. "R... Ron? But you..." Ron's armor slid back under her skin- no, his. "I'm so glad you recognized me, honey." All rage was forgotten as he gave Huntsman a loving smile. "How- you- but I-" "It's a loooong story. Perhaps we can talk about it over dinner?"
Now
23 times. 23 times Ron had asked him out since then, and 22 times he had shot the nut down. He had fond memories of his time with Ron, but that was a long time ago. Ron had changed, and not for the better. His fearsome temper had become something far darker, and Huntsman was almost afraid of him and his mood swings. But in the end, Ron had worn him down. And how bad could it be? Yes, Ron could be a bit mean, and there was some damage there, but he was still Ron. Huntsman had fallen in love with him once. Regardless, he was nervous. His last relationship had ended in mockery and becoming his ex girlfriend's employee. His last date had gone even worse.
Huntsman grabbed his phone and clicked on one of two favorited numbers. "Hey, Chase. I need some help. I'm going on a date and I don't want to do this alone. Please, get a date of your own and come along. Ron said it would be okay."

"Hang on-" said Chase as he drinks down an entire bottle of beer which he just opened the second before picking up the phone. Once he finishes, he tosses the bottle to the ground and it would have touch the wooden floor had it not been for the layers of glass bottles already scatter across his room. "-Sure. I'm kinda bored today anyway..." Chase has been spending the last few days in his apartment after a recent mission as taken a toll on him, but he was starting to feel 100% again. Finishing his conversation with the Huntsman, Chase makes a call for Smith's help, "Hey Smith, listen.. i'm going to need help with finding a certain phone number..." Less than 10 seconds goes by since asking for the requested number before Smith sends a text message containing the desired information. "Thanks Smith. I'll come to the lap later tomorrow before I head back to my training sessions with Osamu." Ending his call with Smith, Chase calls the number that he received from Smith a few moments before.
Once the person picks up the phones, Chase asks in a straightforward and confident voice, "Want to go out on a date?"

A tiny woman in pink with an eyepatch and ludicrously long blonde hair grabbed for a ringing phone on the wall. The wall was peeling, the couch next to it ratty, the room tiny. Her sister lay dully on the couch, book she couldn't read dangling in her hand, bored out of her skull. "Hello?" Marceline asked. The next second, she sneered. "Of all the fucking things your could say the next time you see me! What the hell makes you think I would?" She yelled into the phone before stopping to think.
She was starving. Her sister was underfed. The fridge was empty... "Uh... is it a dinner date?"

Ignoring her previous yelling, Chase continues to speak in a nonchalant tone of voice"Yeah. Its an Italian restaurant..." Chase proceeds to tell Marceline what the Huntsman had told him. Informing her on everything he knew about the date. After getting confirmation from her that she was going, he hangs up and proceeds to drink for a bit before hitting the shower. After cleaning the aroma of beer from his person, Chase gets dressed in his usual outfit and waits a few minutes before heading to the restaurant. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
Standing in front of the restaurant, he wasn't really impressive by its appearance to much. It was a bit too fancy for his liking in some ways. Whatever, he was just going to try to make the most out of this. He walks forward and steps into the place through the front door. Almost immediately he was disgusted with the whole set up. The entire restaurant was packed as can be with annoying people. Chase knew all this before when he was standing outside, but at least the distance was further and more open for him. Now, he was in a tight space room with a few dozen people and it was bothering him. He was going to need a drink in his hands as soon as possible.

Huntsman walked down the sidewalk, long black coat flowing. Ron walked at his side in a borrowed suit, bulky enough on him to hide his figure, just the way he liked. He looked good in white. "Huntsman, you've grown so much. Can you imagine us actually eating in a restaurant two years ago?" Huntsman opened himself up to the praise. "Yeah, we've come a long way from eating out of the trash and snatching plates when people ate outside. I'm second in command of the Wild Hunt." Ron gave him a loving smile, adjusting his hat to make sure his goggles were still covered.
Ron grew quiet for a minute. "Looks like you've found your place out here. I hope I find mine." Huntsman just stared blankly. "Uh... yeah. I hope so too." He looked back ahead as he held the door to the restaurant open. Oh, god dammit Chase. Marceline was entering right next to him. She was pink of course, pretty much the usual outfit more or less. That pink cutesy thing that that clung below her shoulders but didn't show a damn thing. At least it was clean, and she seemed to have recently showered. Instant improvement. She had even put a big pink bow on the back of her head and tied her unruly ass-length hair into strands with pink ribbons.
Marceline looked at him the next moment, showing a heart-shaped eyepatch stretched across her face. So she was going for cute. Huntsman looked away and nodded to Chase. "Hello, Chase. This is Ron. Ron, these are Chase and *snarl* Marceline." Ron extended a hand to shake Chase's. "Pleased to meet you."

Chase careful greets Ron with a friendly handshake as he replies, "Its good to see you Ron. Huntsman had told me earlier when he was proposing this date, that he was going to be bring someone handsome. And I'm surprise to see how much he was underselling your good looks." he finishes with a beautiful smile. A few girls in the restaurant notice Chase more and more. They whisper to each other in soft giggles and his presence causes jealous men to glare at him with looks of hate and envy. But he didn't even bother to give them any attention , as Chase was too focused on Ron's soul.
By sensing Ron's soul, he could see that there was a peaceful nature about the man, but inside the layers of peace was a ball of molten hot hate and anger that burns like a star. Another rather interesting thing that Chase notices was that Ron's soul was male, even though he could see tell that he was in fact a woman after a quick examination. Still, Chase never had a problem with people about how they see themselves, so much as how he himself saw them. But what worried Chase about the individual that was holding his hand is the amount of hate that is bottle up inside of him was something that could rival the anger inside his own date. Not only that, but Ron's anger seem the easier out of the two to be invoked.
Turning to face Marceline, Chase just gives her a shy smile. He could tell that Marceline still resented him from their last time with each other. In fact, he was hoping to avoid her after their last conversation, but Chase couldn't help himself. Still, he was surprise as to why she had decided to came along on this date, but he wasn't planning on bringing that up anytime soon. Chase wanted to compliment her as well, but he had a feeling she wouldn't appreciate his words too much as of right now.

Ron rolled his eyes at Chase's compliments but smiled. "Pleased to meet you too, Mr. Chase. Huntsman says you're a great friend." He tugged gently on Huntsman's arm to get him to the front desk, leaving Chase alone with Marceline. She stared at him in silence for a long time, waiting for him to talk. When she realized he wasn't going to respond, she rolled her eye and glared at him. "Come on buddy, I know you have something to say. Go ahead and say whatever. You clearly aren't somebody who cares about my feelings."

Chase looks at Ron as a ticking time bomb. Well if anything happens, I'm sure Wild hunt will handle things, he thought. Once he hears Marceline he replies in his usual tone, "You look pretty cute in that outfit." Chase said the compliment in such a mixture of blunt honesty and friendly playfulness that could almost come off as a joke. "Honestly, seeing you dress up so nicely, makes me think you actually care about how others see you... or maybe your just doing this for me?" he asks in a sarcastic tone of voice. Then changing it into a bit more serious he adds, "But I suspect you are dressing up for yourself here more than anything." Smiling at her again he finishes with, "And I hope people care about your feelings Marceline." he said in a very honest voice.

Marceline gave Chase a blank stare. She was fighting the urge to give him some well-deserved screaming. I did dress like this for you, but not for the reasons you'd think. Glad you like it though. Now how about an apology!? She just tugged up her dress a little on her chest. "Chase, I want an apology for what you said in the kaspa. And I want you to mean it." She clenched her gloved fists and breathed deeply. Ron called back from the desk. "Hey, our table is open. You two coming?" His soft smile dimmed a little as he saw just how tense Marika was, like she was about to fight Chase, not spend a romantic evening with him.

Chase looks at Marceline and says, "Marceline. I don't think there is a way for me to sound like I mean it, but I'll do my best." Chase grabs both of Marceline's hands with his own and looks her straight in he continues, "I'm sorry. Sorry for failing you. And I'm sorry for everything I did to you." His tone and voice was all sincere in his apology. Letting go of her hands, Chase turns around and walks to the Ron and gets ready to go eat dinner. Chase didn't like apologizing and can't remember ever apologizing to someone face to face like that before, but for Marceline he didn't mind apologizing as he was hoping for her to forgive him.

Marceline looked Chase in the eyes as carefully as she could as he spoke even as she yanked her fingers from his grip. He sounded sincere. Like he actually cared that he had hurt her. It was still terrifying. It was still so alien, almost worse than his cruelty. She shuddered and swallowed down her confusion and revulsion. "I forgive you. But if you ever talk about my like I'm a sex toy again, you'll never see me again." She followed the others to the table, sitting across from Chase on the end of the booth. She stared at her menu for a minute before she made herself look at Chase again. "Okay, tell me now what you hope to get out of this. What do you feel about me?" What do you see in me?

Wow... she just won't stop with all these demands and questions. Chase was getting annoyed with Marceline now, but he wasn't going to ignore her. She deserve to be treated with dignity, especially after his shortcomings from before. "Well, i was hoping to have some fun. And I actually enjoy your company." he said with a smile. He wasn't lying with her, but to be honest he himself didn't really knew the real answers to the her questions himself. "Anyway..." Turning his head to face Ron and Huntsman, "Anyone else in favor of ordering a few bottle of wine?"

Ron shook his head at Chase's offer of booze. "I'm only 18. And... I don't think I should get drunk. So I'm sorry, but I have to pass." Huntsman grinned and nodded. "Actually, 18 is legal drinking age around here. I can do without. Soda is way better." Marceline shook her head. She wasn't getting drunk around Chase. She needed to be in full control. "Looks like you're drinking alone. That's they way you prefer it anyway, isn't it?" Why the hell would he like being around me? Marceline didn't get this guy at all. But she needed to know him better.
After the waiter came and went with the orders of their drinks, Marceline fiddled a little and looked again at Chase. She found his expression odd, like he was as confused as her about his feelings. That couldn't be right. But still, the idea made her just bold enough to speak again. "So, how have things been since last time?" Huntsman and Ron were discussing their branched pasts, so it seemed an appropriate topic.

Chase didn't mind that the others were uninterested in drinking. In fact he was slightly happy since that means more for him. Chase grabs a waiter's attention and says, "Excuse me sir, I want to try some wine." When the waiter asks him for which bottle he was interested in sampling or ordering, Chase just cuts him off guard by saying, "Don't worry about that. Just give me one of ever bottle." The waiter nervously tells Chase that they had over 200 different kinds of wine. He just responses by saying, "200 bottles will hold me for a while."
Turning to Marceline he answers her question, "Well... let's just say that I recently solved a mystery concerning a town and have been training since we last seen each other. Honestly, all of it has been tiresome, but hopefully it will pay off in the end." Chase looks at Marceline and asks, "Mind telling me how you been doing lately?"

"And so I won, and as far as I can tell, all the other synthetic Shinodas were destroyed. So- can you afford all that?" Ron gave Chase a surprised look when he ordered one of every kind of wine. Marceline felt it was a good question she seriously needed an answer to. "Huh. I don't even know your job. Do you work for the HWIC? As for me... uh... honestly, not great. Work doesn't make me much." She tried not to make it clear what work was for her, but given her past and the look she gave the alcohol being delivered to the table made it pretty clear.

"I can't personally but my partner can. He agreed to pay for all my drinking expenses for this month after my last mission. So I plan to make the most out of this opportunity" Chase said in a casual tone of voice. "As for work...Well i don't do anything for the HWIC, but I do work with someone who is a part of the HWIC." Chase didn't press Marceline about her own work as he could tell it was making her uncomfortable. "Well, if you want to change your profession, I could just ask my partner to offer you another job." offered Chase as he opens a bottle and drinks straight from it rather than pour the wine into a wine glass.

Marceline looked a touch disappointed. "God you're easily bribed by booze. I should have suspected that." She was completely unbalanced by Chase's sudden offer. I'm not good at anything... "You can shove that offer so far up your ass you can spit it back out at me. I'm not associating more with you." She seemed more relaxed with the insult. Ron did not. The antagonism seemed to set him off. He glared at Marceline and was ready to spit hatred when the waiter came back with the rest of Chase's booze. "Here you go. And are you ready to order your meals?"

Chase didn't react at all to Marceline's comment. Chase had no idea why Marceline was acting so strange from her usual self. She kept asking him too many personal questions and was being too defensive with her responses. "Well, if you don't like the idea then don't take it" said Chase. "I don't want to force you to do anything Marceline." Chase looks at the waiter, "I will be having nothing." Chase didn't need to eat food, plus he didn't want to waste his money. He had a feeling that he was going to have pay for Marceline's meal. After all, he was a gentlemen when the occasion suited him to be one.

Marceline seemed disappointed with Chase's reaction. "Spaghetti. The big plate." She wanted to fill her growling stomach to the brim and still have enough left over for Cosmina. "Five plates of raveoli." Huntsman said. "Same." Ron nodded. The slightly confused waiter wrote their orders down and left. "You'd better not try to force me into anything. You were creepy enough in the kaspa."
Beside them, Huntsman smiled at Ron for the first time on this date. "I forgot you were as big an eater as me." He earned a smile in response. "Bigger."

Chase shrugs off Marceline's last comment and drinks his fourth bottle of wine. He didn't really care to continue to have a conversation with Marceline at this point when she was just looking for anything to aim her angry and hate at. So he address Huntsman and Ron instead and asks, "So how did you two meet each other anyways?" Chase wanted to get some background information of the Huntsman and Ron out of curiosity along with avoiding pissing off Marcerline.
