Callis couldn’t avoid noticing Akane’s pain. He had known her for almost a year and he could notice when she lied about this kind of thing. The Beast Knight almost pressured her more but knew that it would only hurt her pride, so he didn’t add anything else, only giving a momentary glance of concern over his shoulder before proceeding to advance. Thankfully Vladimir came to the rescue. -That is very considerate of you Mes Kearney, I thank you for your help.- He looked at Akane with a meaningful look as he got close to her and waited for the spell. He was interested about magic, as for the first time since he was born he could actually cast it, thus he wished to witness more spells and different styles to gather wisdom and knowledge to improve his own abilities. -Please proceed.- He gently grasped Akane’s hand, trying not to pull too much, to avoid injuring her any further. If Vladimir didn’t do it Callis himself was planning to use his own healing spell, as as much as he respected Akane, he couldn’t bear watching her suffering.
As this happened on the back of the line, Stephan and Cadence, if they moved faster than the others, would arrive to a wooden staircase, one that sunk deep into the bowels of the prison, with the wooden walls giving way to grey stones. Echoing from below them, coming from the stairwell, a voice reached their location. -I think I rushed too much, I don’t know where I am… Gen is going to kill me…- Rin Shishioh was on the other side of the staircase, looking around as her mad dash to avoid Z’s spheres of annihilation got her lost. -I should’ve turned to the left on the last bifurcation.- She pondered to herself, not realizing somebody was hearing her up the staircase. If Stephan or Cadence could sense Ki they would perceive her Ki, but as neither of them seemed to use Ki for their techniques Rin wasn’t able to sense their presence above her and behind a wall. -I should get back there before they lose track of me.- Rin stroke her chin, deep in thought, unlike Gen, who reacted, she tended to be more measured about her choices.
As she pondered this another voice joined her, Dan Drake’s, -Okay, while I’ve got the chance, can you do me a favor?- He started. -Tell your brother that he’s cool and still owes me a fight, but I’m not into him. I just don’t do guys.- He held his hands up in an apologetic gesture as they approached the stairs. -I know it’s cowardly for me to not tell him directly, but I’m really bad about this stuff.- Rin was awestruck by Dan’s words and looked at the Pink Comet as if she was staring to a freak cosmic phenomenon. -Did you get hit in the head during the fight?- She asked, still incapable of processing what she just heard from him. -Really, do you need medical attention?- The Young Warrior, in a daze, lifted her hand and pulled three fingers up. -How many fingers do I have up?- She inquired, testing if Dan was actually suffering the effects of a concussion.
-Because if you don’t know how many fingers I have up I can understand that you could be confused and suffering from brain damage.- She made a pause and deeply inhaled. -If you actually know how many fingers I have up then I’ll need you to explain why you’re sounding as if you are brain damaged.- Rin really didn’t have time to deal with Dan’s surely concussion inspired ideas.
Gen didn’t even flinch as Z pushed him through a couple of stone walls. The Hot-Blooded Brawler had taken worst hits on a daily basis for a good period of his life. -And yer fuckin’ mouth can’t protect ya from me, asshole.- Gen replied, as he slid down a wall Z crushed him into. It wasn’t noticeable, but he was quite rocked by the blow, blood pouring out of his mouth, hidden by the armor. As the punch came towards him, Gen used the wall as a vaulting point, pushing his legs upwards and taking advantage of Z’s newfound size to slip inside his guard, using his clawed hands, attempting to pierce the back of the Alien’s neck as his knees went up directly at Z’s chin, pulling another Code Breaker. -Swallow yer teeth motherfucker!- The Gainen Brawler was too immersed in the battle to hear Haruko and Arthur, but surely their diversion tactics might help him deal actual damage to the Alien before his armor’s time limit ran out.
Meanwhile far above this battle, in the Research Wing, Haigo Yasumori, after slowly walking out of his quarters finally arrived to the main workshop, the one Marika was working on. His bald head, covered with inscribed mantras reflected the lowlights of the large chamber as he crossed the doorway, pulling behind him several floating canisters of ancient alchemical fluids connected through tubes directly into his body. Several hundreds of paper charms adorned his long and intricate robes as he approached Marika. -Weaver of Life, I greet you.- He performed a very elegant, yet quite strained, bow, as he slowly made his way towards her work area. -I’ve come to assist you in your task, asked by our mutual benefactor.- He creepily moved his hands as he spoke, each wrinkled finger ending on a very long and very sharp nail, all of them inscribed with different Omnyo charms. His hands clattered with the sound of dozens of rings and wristbands carrying jewels, trinkets and charms.
-My name is Haigo Yasumori, master of the Omnyo Arts and true inheritor of the Yasumori School of Curses and Enchantments.- A dangerous glow appeared on his eyes as he grinned. -We have much to discuss.-
Robin heard a voice behind her. -Hey, you there, do you have the keys to the cells?- Eiyu Shomei stood behind the Doll, his medical attire flowing behind him and drones floating behind him, carrying his medical support equipment, hooked to him, he spoke through an oxygen mask. He had the air of a mad scientist, but far beyond anybody Robin might’ve seen before. -Keys, to the cells, right now.- He extended his hand, not even bothering with basic manners or introductions. -Every moment is wasted, give me the damn keys before I decide to dissect you and see what makes you tick.- He gestured with his fingers like and unruly child, wanting her to give him the keys.

Akane was just about to refuse Vlad's help when Callis thanked him for it. Refusing now would be not only rude to Vlad, but also to Callis. She looked away from him in an attempt save some face but held his hand nonetheless. She would accept the healing, just to avoid worrying him any further.
"I don't know what has gotten into me...thanks for the help."
Her healing abilities were clearly dimished, as well as her stamina and strenght. after nearly dying on her duel against Jun-Li, something had changed. Perhaps all the battles she had up to that point had finally taken their toll. Akane knew her body would never be the same, so she tried to compensate it further with skill. that, at least had improved.
As yet another one of Gen's power moves landed with the help of Haruko and Arthur, Z couldnt help but wonder what was going on. With the ammount of energy he had absorbed, Gen's moves should be easy to dodge and counter, yet all of them landed.
"This makes no sense, I should be able to easily overpower you" Z looked at his body and finally realized. Small nicks in the armor, cracks that let in the toxic atmosphere of the planet seep into his body. It was the joint effort of all the warriors up to that point what was slowly but surely weakening the collector. His organic armor could self repair using the stolen energy, but he needed to retreat for that to happen. Fighting against a myriad of opponents was not the same as preying on single targets.
He reached for his sword and sliced open space itself, connecting a warp gate for him to escape.
"I will be back for you, human"- He told Gen as the portal closed.
Heavily Breathing, the collector nearly collapsed but managed to stand one knee. Yuu and the others were there, their treason was of little concern to him anymore. all he cared for now was to heal himself, plus one other thing.
"Complications have arised, I shall deal with them later...is...Martha alive?"

Ok - Vladimir answered Stephan, a body that could heal itself that fast was something good. Very convenient. When he heard both Callis and Akane he couldn't hide a small smile on his face. Those two had a different vibe and he could tell it... somehow he felt nostalgic.
Give me a second... - He took the Last Book again, he began to pass the pages. If Akane or Callis could see there was a huge combination of celtic, modern Irish and enochian words, the sentences couñd be read from left to right, or right to left, even from up to down, or down to up, having more than 100 sentences in one single page. The ex-paladin looked so calm as he read them, mumbling from time to time as he read them.
Oh, found.... oh, these are for age differences... under 100, right? - He asked them, somehow he felt that they weren't older than that. He tried his best to hide a chucle, they were going to have a spell that was used on children... how cute.

“Of course. Have it.” Stephan handed Cadence the tablet and strode down the hallway, pausing at the top of the top of the stairwell. Here marked a clear transition, from one section of the prison to another. If Stephan remembered the map he surveyed before coming, this marked the entrance to the Maximum Security wing. This was likely where Quan had escaped from and possibly where his original body lay in wait. Suddenly, Stephan heard voices from below and stopped his paces. He lifted a hand, signaling for silence from those behind him.
Soon, voices began to drift up from the lower floor. He heard a young woman talking about concussions, followed by a man’s voice, soft with a light Cantonese accent. “But I- he- I overheard… I may have jumped to conclusions.” Stephan tilted his head. Just who were these people? Escaped prisoners? What inanity were they talking about? “Callis, you want to confront them?” He whispered back, deferring to the JHWAB agent. Down below, Dan was red as a beet. He really fucked it up this time. This is what he got for jumping to conclusions. “So, uh… were you the one with a crush?” He swallowed dryly and before he could stop himself, finished the thought. “You’re just way too young, and… oh god, there are no actual crushes, are there?” Dan hid his face and turned away. “I’ll just stay back here then.” He stood behind Haruko and Arthur as they caught up, wishing they weren’t so damn small and he could be hidden by them.
Yuu had taken Martha back to the guard barracks Ikari had used as headquarters. It felt a lot bigger now that he was no longer sprawled there. She would miss him, in an odd way. He was a terrible threat, but he was one that kept other threats in check. If Z survived his fight downstairs, there was very little stopping him from finishing the job he started with Yuu. She could feel his hands on her neck still. She unsuccessfully tried to massage the feeling out of her body. Martha needed her attention more, she decided after a few moments.
The broken roots of Martha’s lost teeth were rubbed with healing paste, then the cut on her cheek and split forehead. Yuu was putting away the healing paste when Z appeared, bigger and more intimidating than ever with his cracked armor. She was startled when he suddenly fell to one knee. He was vulnerable, she realized. Her hand twitched towards her sword. Perhaps she could finish the job. “She may not look like it, but Martha is fine. She will be up in a few minutes. What about the rest? How are Ikari and Riku?”
She wasn’t sure what answers she was hoping for. If Ikari was dead, that was her main threat from Kuro-san removed, but Z would stand largely unopposed on their team. Yuu’s hand had dropped from her sword. She still couldn’t win, she knew that. Not without risking her own life significantly, and she could not risk that. Her children, Martha included, still needed her. She wondered now how Marika was doing. Hopefully she was keeping on schedule.
“So I use these signs to ensure loyalty to Kuro-san as well as myself. It takes some special programming. Do you think I should include Ikari? Nah, fuck Ikari.” Marika was sitting in Miles’ lap, explaining the magic she was using to “program” the abominable giant before her. She raised her head when she heard footsteps. “Ah, shit. Put your shirt on.” She stood up to greet Haigo Yasumori, her own bow little more than a nod of his head. “Mr. Yasumori… uh, Yasumori-san, what exactly is the assistance that Kuro-san thought I require? Everything has been going excellently.” The slightest bit of temper was starting to emerge from her voice. Kuro-san thought she needed help? On the thing she did best!? It was insulting!
Robin was effectively lost. She had wanted to go to the confiscated items lockers, but this place was just too big. When she heard a voice, she instantly spun, glad to meet anybody in this maze. “Keys to the cells? Why would I? I’m just a janitor.” Robin lied most easily than most people breathed, but even as she said it she realized it was flimsy. She was still in her usual canary yellow and lime-green outfit, not a janitor’s uniform. She should have stolen one. When it came to threats, she quickly decided to stop playing dumb. “Alright, I wasn’t using them.” She pulled them from her infinitely deep pockets, checking out the stranger’s fancy gear.
None of the constituent materials were that expensive, but she was never good at judging tech. It was how you put it together that made it worth something, not so much what they were made of. “In exchange for the keys, can you give me some pointers? Where do they keep the good stuff? I mean the most hardcore stuff they confiscate, where is that?”

“...thanks…” Cadence muttered to Stephen when he handed her the tablet. Everyone else appeared to be preoccupied with their own loop of complimenting each other, something Cadence didn’t see much of a point of. Did two people who considered themselves ‘warriors’ need this much encouragement? Rolling her eyes, Cadence began to scroll through the tablet. The list of prisoners was of people she hadn’t heard of, but that likely didn't matter for now. She scrolled to the maximum security wing and read the names presented for her. #2213: Quan - Homicide - Illegal HW Activities #2214: #2215: Akai Yugure - Espionage - Illegal HW Activities #2216: Goro Yamanaka - Homidice - Illegal HW Activities - Illegal Dueling #2217: Akuto Akunin - Conspiracy - Illegal HW Activities - Clan Killer #2218: Beatrix Malleviant - Conspiracy - Illegal HW Activities - Extradition pending. #2219: #2220: Takamaru Washiyama - Conspiracy - Homicide - Illegal HW Activities. One by one, Cadence skimmed over the details of each prisoner in the maximum security wing. If this prison was truly compromised, it stood to reason that these were to be the ones that posed the largest threats. When she got to Quan’s profile, she read it more closely. Quan Jian - The Silent Fist - Prisoner 414 - Maximum Security Ward
Quan Jian, also known as “The Silent Fist” is one of the strongest martial artists in the world, being part of a select group who reached the top 10 ranking of the Spirit Boxing Federation. Quan is a master of Japanese Kenpo, master of the Muon Ken, taught to him by Hibiki Nensho, the Sage of the Red Mountain. The Silent Fist is a deadly martial artist known for his eerie aura and merciless fighting style, always centered on destroying the enemy with their own strength. Apart from his skills, which alone are enough to fight against any Hidden World Master, Quan posseses a Perfected Ougi based on a skill from his Master. “Kyomu no Kokoro” (The Heart of Nothingness) which allows him to, described by some who fought him, become a ghost. The only known fighters who managed to crack the secret behind his technique are Nensho, who created the basis for the technique and his fellow student Reiji Fukuma. While she had no idea about what the Spirit Boxing Federation was, Cadence’s attention was piqued once more when she read the end. “...I suppose that makes three…” She said with a small amount of satisfaction. If this ‘Nensho’ was able to develop a technique like that...he’s probably got other powerful techniques… Cadence thought to herself. Unfortunately, searching his name on the database didn’t yield any results. However...the other name mentioned, Reiji Fukuma, did pop up an entry. Reiji Fukuma - Master of 7 Styles - Prisoner 119 - Maximum Security Ward
Reiji Fukuma, Inheritor of the Mountain Slaying Fist is perhaps one of the greatest martial artist in the world and without a doubt the most powerful currently residing in Japan. Reiji is known as the Master of 7 Styles, as he has mastered seven ancient martial arts and joined all of them into a single style of Kenpo. Reiji was involved with CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION during the 70’s. After the events of CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION he took a self-imposed exile on the island of Sakurajima protecting CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION and being aggressive to any intruders. He was a student under Hibiki Nensho and was a colleague of Quan Jian. Reiji Fukuma has taught Ichigan Nagare (Deceased), Goemon Williams, Gen Shishioh and Rin Shishioh. Information is conflictive but seemingly Gen Shishioh has a CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION given to him by Fukuma. Currently Fukuma seems to be in a catatonic state. There was confidential information hidden in a facility like this? Why mention it at all if so much is hidden in his file? Considering this man is apparently one of the strongest people in Japan...it wouldn’t be a stretch to think him and Quan are somehow behind this. But who were these people he taught? Searching Goemon, Gen and Rin unfortunately didn’t reveal any information. It did appear that this ‘Gen’ had something from his master. What could it be? Who was this ‘Gen’? In an act of almost comical timing, Cadence heard a voice coming from the staircase nearby. -I think I rushed too much, I don’t know where I am… Gen is going to kill me…- She heard Rin say. “...you don’t say…” The plant doll muttered to herself. She seemed to be baffled by the man she was talking to, trying to discern if he had a concussion or not. A third voice could be heard, a man’s. "Well, that encounter went well. I hope not everyone here is like Ikari and the big guy..." He said. The mention of Ikari made Cadence perk up. “...Ikari…” The plant doll repeated. Her mind flashed back to several years ago, on the night she was freed from Marika’s control. Before being led away to the HWIC’s HQ, she was forced to attack an ogre stronghold being defended by a band of mercenaries. It was on that day that a strange, menacing man approached them and awakened her. --- -This is the Gainen your soul created, Green Hair…- The Purple Flames reignited, extending from Ikari’s hand towards the creature neck, forming a tight circle, like a leash. The flames gradually turned to dark metal, just like the one in Ikari’s armor. He extended the chain towards Cadence. –Say hello to your new pet, Industrial Poison. - Alongside the chain Ikari had the medal to give it back to Cadence. –I summoned it and broke his will with my power, yet you must exert your own dominance over it to take advantage of its abilities…- The Renegade Agent’s smile grew larger and more sinister, shadows casted over his face, hiding his features except his mouth and glimmering eyes. –Try it out, let’s see how will you control it… Will you force it to remain like it is and fight alongside you? Or will you join its might with your own fusing it with your own being?-
--- Cadence brushed her hand past the small metallic disc in her dress pocket. While she was out looking over the mountains...the man had revealed to the other dolls that his name was Ikari Fukushi. She was only informed of this after speaking with Haven when the battle ended. If Ikari was involved...did that mean it had something to do with this medal he seemed so interested in? The voice continued. "How're you holding up?" He asked. A fourth, female voice answered him. “You know, about as fine as you can be right now.” Haruko said. That last battle was an utter disaster. The only silver lining seemed to be that the threat of Ikari had been transferred to this man who Goemon seemed to know...but was still attacking regardless. “To be honest, I think we should just get this guy and come back with backup...and lots of it.” She stated. This was the second time now that they’ve run into people who shouldn’t be walking around this prison. What was going on here?! Up at the top of the stairs, Cadence saw this as too good an opportunity to let pass. This girl knew who Gen was, and this man had just encountered Ikari. Ignoring Stephen’s gesture, Cadence commanded her chair to begin walking down the staircase, stopping as it reached the level Rin and the others were on. Haruko looked at the strange woman with suspicion. “...hello...sorry to interrupt…” She wasn’t sorry at all. “...but I couldn’t help but hear you all from upstairs…” Cadence began. The group certainly looked strange...one large man and 3 small people that looked in either their teens or early 20s. The plant doll tried to appear as non threatening as possible. Cadence pointed to the tablet in her hands. “...if you’re lost...I could try to help...my name is Cadence by the way...who am I speaking to…?” She asked. Hopefully appearing helpful would win over enough trust for her to start asking about more pressing matters. Just to be sure they wouldn’t try to run, Cadence briefly glanced down the hallways. If there was so much as a potted plant, she could try to trip them up. If there was nothing...she could always summon her Gainen in front of their path. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that though.

Arthur and Haruko made their way through the twists and turns of the massive prison's hallways. While they discussed their current situation, Haruko proposed the group grab Reiji and come back with reinforcements afterward.
"Uh, I don't think it's as easy as that. Did you already forget how we got in here? Coming back wouldn't be as easy as grabbing backup and strolling back in."
They caught up to Rin and Dan while he was saying that. “I’ll just stay back here then," they caught Dan saying to a baffled Rin and skulking back behind them. Arthur looked at the fingers Rin was holding up.
"Is everything alright?" he asked, then turned to Dan. "Dan, is your fighting spirit having some side-effects? Maybe you shouldn't have exerted yourself so much after just unlocking it."
They were interrupted by a strange green-haired girl with a quiet yet firm voice and a speech pattern more languid than a sloth. After their encounter upon reaching the prison and the fight they just had with Ikari's group, it was needless to say that Arthur was suspicious of the new arrival. Her name rang somewhat familiar to Arthur but he couldn't place it at all. The ice mage stepped up in front of the group.
"Cadence, huh? You'll have to forgive us, but we're not really ready to share our names with a strange person we just met in a prison. Especially a prison in the state this one's in." He looked at the tablet she was showing them. "We're also not ready to tell you why we're here just so." Not even gonna whisper it in case you have super hearing, Arthur chuckled internally. "So, why should we trust you, lady?"

Callis had a weird smile upon replying. -Yes, under 100.- The Beast Knight noticed some of Vladimir quirks and strangely he seemed similar to Percival, the previous guardian of the Grail. The Paladin’s spell managed to heal up Callis and restore some of his stamina, hopefully it would have the same effect on Akane. -Do you feel alright Akane?- He asked once the arcane glow dissipated from around them. Callis heard Stephan inquiry and moved towards the front. The Beast Knight sniffed the air and his face showcased a mixture of surprised and confusion. -What’re they doing here?- He asked out loud as he made a gesture for the team to group up. But as he did he realized Cadence already left and rushed behind her. -Everyone behind me!- He shouted as he rushed down the stairs to find Rin’s group.
Before Callis even started coming down Rin replied to Arthur’s inquiry, by putting both her hands over her mouth and letting out the heaviest sigh she could. -Nothing, nothing is wrong, I just… give me a second.- Rin walked apart from the group trying to keep her composure and avoid pulling off a “Gen”. As she did Callis and whoever followed him descended the stairs after Cadence. -Messa Miyata? Mes Cromwell? Messa Shishioh? Mes Drake?- He knew some of them, others he knew through reading JHWAB files. -What are all of you doing here?- Callis asked absolutely blindsided by their presence on the prison. -None of you should be here…- His eyes turned into narrow slits as he analyzed the situation. Just as he did Gen arrived, unarmored to join up with his group. -I got the fuckin’ monster to back the fuck down!- He shouted from afar, still not realizing they had company. Once he got closer he added. -We need to find Rei-.- Stopping midway upon noticing Callis’ group.
Callis pointed at Gen. -Mes Shishioh!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?- Gen stopped on his tracks and looked at the whole situation. -FUCK.- He uttered sighing almost as heavily as Rin did moments ago.
-You have a keen taste my dear.- Shomei smiled, showing his brace-covered teeth. -Most of what is taken from the prisoners is kept nearby our party’s quarters, on the Research Wing, look for the Evidence Locker, close by to where your creator is doing our benefactor’s work.- And with that he shuffled away with the key in hand and several ideas about who to release and convince to send towards the intruders. What he didn’t notice, was that somebody was following him.
Haigo levitated towards her work, inspecting it with the expression of a veteran expert. -I’m surprised about your handiwork, I’ve seen my fair share of arcane automatons but your technique is quite unique.- He stroked his long white beard smiling to reveal his darkened teeth, shining like black pearls. -Mmmmmmm.- He lowered his head looking closely at some segments of Marika’s programming. Haigo was a master Omnyo user with an innate comprehension of magical systems and diagrams, to the point it could be said he was even better than his brother Roshi, yet he was in prison and Roshi was leading the JHWAB so there could be a crucial difference between them. -I think there is a mistake.- His abnormally long index nail pointed at one of the parts Marika had been explaining to Miles. -Why are you making the creature loyal to you and to our benefactor?- He inquired with a sinister smile.
Riku shook his head as the shockwaves coming from below woke him up, sending vibrations through the floor. The Iron Clad Boxer was confused, not knowing where he was or what was he doing. He staggered up and looked around. -Where am I?- He asked, quite stunned. Then he looked at his hands and noticed the veins of metal drawing chaotic designs between solid plates of skin. He started trembling and hyperventilating. -What? What happened?- He asked with a weak voice. -I was in Russia… Where am I?- He checked the rest of his body, fear taking over his mind. -What happened to me? What is this?- He tried to feel his face but he couldn’t get any tactile feedback from his fingers, he could only sense the hardness and weight of his skin. His head was killing him and his body was reacting to his emotions, as the rivers of metal sunken into canyons of skin all over his body started rippling, following the beating of his heart.
Riku still in shock didn’t notice when the metal on the back of his neck moved apart from his body and formed into a large tendril which suddenly snapped into attack, penetrating the back of his head and exploding into his brain, taking over areas which they were already before. The headache was too much and the Ironclad Boxer fell to the ground on his knees, he was dry heaving and incapable of talking. But he still heard a voice. -bAd bOy, bAd bOy! yOu DoN’t GeT tO pLaY wItH mY tOy!- Riku back’s arched in pain as his hands went to his neck as he felt the air escaped him. -yOu’Re mY tOy CaR! aNd I nEeD yOu To Be 100% iF i’M gOnNa kIlL tHe oNe wHo uSeD mE!- Riku hit his head against the floor, trying to clear out his head, but it was useless, his body reassembled back, but unlike the fight against Martha, his body completely turned into Benkeinium, returning to its original shape. But this time around Riku steely hair got several strands of black mixed in and his eyes shined with devilish red light.
-i’M bAcK!- Said Masako, triumphantly as he scratched Riku’s face off revealing a mixture of the Ironclad Boxer and his own. -aNd i’M hUnGrY!!!!- His eyes locked on the joined groups directions. -aNd i cAn sMeLl A bUfFeT! kUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkUkU!- Somehow the Alpha Predator survived the ordeal in Russian, piggybacking on Riku’s body, surely connected to the Benkenium the Vengeful Boxer ingested.

Akane finally managed to fully heal after the spell, she simply nodded when Callis asked if she felt better. a second nod thanking Vlad followed.
The moment Callis moved down the stairs Akane followed. the group of people made Akane reach for her weapon almost immediately, but once Callis began to call them by their last names things made more sense, after all, Callis had told her about a Miyata in particular before.
"Miyata...Haruko, right? I've heard about you. You helped my boyfriend fight the Akunin shinobi in the past"
Akane slightly bowed and introduced herself, if a friend of Callis was in the group, violence was perhaps unnecessary.
"My name is Akane Musashi, pleased to meet you. Now, it would seem you and your friends have some things to discuss with him, namely why you are here."
Friends of Callis or not, it was clear they were unexpected 'guests'. Akane got even closer to Haruko, nearly whispering to her ear.
"That, by the way, was not a request."
"I cannot confirm wether Ikari is alive or not, nor do I care. Had i known he would be nothing but a hindrance, I would have killed him myself. As for the human coated in treasure metal, I lost track of him during the fight."
Z got up and clenched his fist. the slightest shine could be seen reflected in his red eyes.
"Yuu, your betrayal in the midst of battle made things more difficult than they needed to be. however, I care not for your human affairs, my loyalty is not towards Kuro. Stand in my way, and you'll die. leave me be, and perhaps your schemes will succeed."
The collector began to glow in a red aura as the cracks on his armor began to slowly regenerate.
"After I sythesize all the energy I absorbed, not only my wounds will disappear, my true strenght will also be restored."
Ever since he was captured, his energy intakes were at a minimum. Perhaps just enough to keep him alive. Now, he had enough energy to finally regain his strenght as the collector.
"The man in Gainen armor and Akane Musashi. Neither will survive a second time."

Still violently red, Dan looked up when he was addressed by an unfamiliar voice. “Have we… met?” The man he was looking at was vaguely familiar, like Dan had met him briefly once. He recognized him only when Akane mentioned Akunin shinobi. Haruko had told him that story. The friends she did that with were named Callis and Jose. And Callis… had seen him on Sakurajima. Uh oh. He quickly looked at the others, but he didn’t recognize any of them. A man with an exoskeleton, a tiny woman, and a tall woman with a sword. All of them interesting, none familiar.
“Drake? Ah, Dan Drake. This is almost certainly a violation of your parole, depending on your explanation for being here.” Stephan spoke in a gently chiding tone, like he was talking to a naughty child. “A man named Kuro-san is infiltrating this prison, and we’re stopping him!” Dan quickly blurted. “And that’s what brought you here?” Stephan creeped Dan out. Those giant eyes seemed to look through his soul. “Uh, yeah…” Dan’s voice trailed off. He looked to the others around him for support.
Yuu was surprised to hear that Ikari’s state couldn’t be confirmed. What could have happened? Did they… beat Ikari? Could she hope for that? That the main leverage Kuro-san had keeping her in place was gone? She couldn’t entirely say she was happy with it. He did keep the others in line. However, she didn’t need to rely on that anymore. “Well then our goals diverge. Although I suppose we have one last thing to offer one another. Akane Musashi is here right now. Can you sense her in any way? Where is she?” Akane would be with Callis. It made her heart skip. She would see him again soon. “If you send me her way, I promise I will not warn her of your presence. I can lead her right into your jaws.” Yuu looked Z right in the eyes.
“Is… is it only supposed to be loyal to Kuro-san?” Marika asked, head tilting. She looked over her notes of magical symbols, all scrawled in an utterly alien tongue. “Wait, you can read my language? That’s… that impossible.” Marika’s paranoia was piqued. The only other people who should be able to read any of this would be her family members, but they were all dead. Weren’t they? Worse than that, if somebody else could read her symbols and figure out her code, they could replace her! Unacceptable!
“Hey, thanks man!” Robin gave Shomei two thumbs up and skipped backwards. She took off with her explosive soles, riding a series of blasts off back towards her master.

Arthur’s refusal to reveal information was made Cadence frown in annoyance. While it was probably smart to not trust her...doing so also wastes her own time. If they weren’t about to reveal their own names, no way they’d give her information on what she actually wanted. Were they weak enough that she could just torture it out? Luckily, Callis flew down the stairs and confronted the group.
Haruko’s eyes widened when she saw Callis descending the stairs. “...oh crud.” She muttered, then realizing that was probably audible to Callis’s enhanced hearing. “Hey, Callis! Fancy seeing you here!” She tried to act casual. More people descended the stairs after him. A tall woman with a sword, an older-looking man, and another man with a strange green thing around himself. The way he talked about Dan and his parole gave Haruko the impression he was from the HWIC...the primary people who dealt with Dan when he was in jail.
When Akane approached her, Haruko narrowed her eyes in confusion. “...huh. Callis, you have a girlfriend now?” She called over to him. She didn’t think he could get with a woman, considering his gynophobia! A small wave of relief ran through her, thinking Callis managed to conquer one of his fears. But then...another thought entered her mind. Could it be possible this Callis was a fake? Someone who only knew Callis vaguely wouldn’t know of his gynophobia.
“You are correct; I’m Haruko Miyata! Nice to meet you, Akane. I would appreciate you not threatening me or my friends, though.” She shot back at the warrior. “By the way...when did you two get together? The Callis I knew could barely talk to women, so forgive me for thinking this looks a little suspicious.” She had to rule out that these weren’t doppelgangers before speaking about why they are here. But as fate would have it...Dan dropped the person who might be behind everything. Why did he do that…? Letting out a sigh, Haruko continued.
“...annnnd like my friend said...we do have someone to stop. You must know Yuu, right Callis?” She asked the potential fake. “We just ran into her. Which means Marika is also here. I’m sure you know what that means, right?” Haruko asked him. Hopefully this misdirect would stop further questioning into why they are there.
Meanwhile, Cadence just slunk away from the group and watched from her chair positioned on the stairwell. If a fight was going to break out now, she had no interest being in the middle of it. If these idiots wanted to kill each other, that was their call.
---
“Yeah, fuck h-” Miles started to reply, but the sound of footsteps also jolted him to put his shirt back on and look at the newcomer from his chair. This old guy wanted to help Marika with her masterpiece?! And what kind of name was Haigo, anyway?!
His expression turned into a frown when he somehow managed to read Marika’s writing, pointing out how it would listen to both Kuro-san and Marika. His eyes then widened when he realized that nobody but Marika should be able to read those. Who was this guy?!
Standing up, Miles began to wander toward the two. “I think what Marika is trying to say…” He began. “...is that this is a powerful doll that is currently in development. What if for it were to wake for some reason? It needs to listen to someone while the boss is away!” He explained. “Of course she planned to remove herself from that list when it was done.” Miles tried to explain. The way this guy walked in and immediately became confrontational was starting to piss him off.

The woman who approached them didn't seem pleased by Arthur's response and she slinked away while Callis and some others pilled into the hallway.
"Oh, Mes Callis..." Arthur said, surprised by his arrival. He turned to Cadence. "Well, you should've just said you're here with Callis! And Vlad. Funny meeting you guys here." Unfortunate, too. Callis had organization associations and was unlikely to approve of them being here. He could easily decide to imprison them if he knew why they were here. For Callis himself, his own biggest surprise was seeing Gen. And Dan was apparently familiar with one of the people who was aware of Dan's past. Luckily, Dan was no fool despite his awkwardness and brutish appearance. He gave his version of events, pretty much the same Arthur though up.
"Well, we didn't know who was behind this until we clashed with his henchmen. There's something wrong with this place and as far as we knew the JHWAB wasn't doing anything to fix it. We had to intervene ourselves. Good thing, too. After fighting Ikari and the armored guy, I think you're gonna need our help to stop the mastermind." Everything he just said was technically true. He wasn't sure if any of the guys he didn't recognize could tell when they were lying, but he wasn't going to risk it just yet. "First, I think we should trade experiences."

Vladimir nodded when the couple thanked him, however it didn't take time until the hallway began to be louder and louder. He knew for sure Arthur, Haruko and... he was sure he met Dan somewhere else but he barely remembered. Somehow Mr. Nomene wasn't happy at all with that... Considering that this was a secret mission, having another team doing their own stuff in a dangerous place what wasn't working normally, things weren't going to be easy. As he waved his hand at the people he recognized, he could only chuckle at Haruko's words. Romance in the office was allowed? No, he shouldn't make that joke. He barely knew any of them and the less thing he wanted was to look like certain angel that poked his nose in other people's bussiness. Now, now! - He tried to calm the Beast - I worked for Mr. Cromwell in the past, I'm pretty sure they are professionals... in their own way too - The man said, his stress bar increasing thanks to the situation. Since most of you know each other... wouldn't be better if we have more people to cover more ground? - He didn't want everyone to end fighting and getting spotted by the enemy... so they should solve things fast to move on - I bet you already worked togethe...
He only prayed for not having someone ready to cut his throat for babbling around nonsense... well, it wasn't actually nonsense but it could be in the eyes of someone that didn't knew him. You can't trust people so easily, but it's better to be professional and wish for the best...

The sound of bare feet running on the cold stone was the only thing that could be perceived at the bottom of the cube that surrounded the Maximum Security Wing. The darkness was thick, like molasses, as Master and Student dueled in the shadows. Their exchange of blind offense and defense was precise, not wasting any kind of energy. Goemon was too focused on the fight to even attempt to talk Ichigan down from his frenzy, without realizing that the current pace of their battle was less frantic and more controlled. Ichigan had gotten his wits back minutes ago, but he woke up from his daze mid fight and he wouldn’t stop a fight for a reason so mundane as asking what the hell was happening.
-Boy, I don’t talk to hired help.- Haigo replied to Miles. He turned towards Marika with a condescending smile. -Of course I can read your language miss, I wouldn’t be able to replicate it, but I have spent 70 years locked in jail with books on arcane theory as my only friends.- A flicker of arcane energy crossed through his sunken eyes. -If there is a magical script I cannot read then said script doesn’t exist.- He then did a very curious gesture, moving his index and thumb together towards his forehead and then opening up to the sides, his long nails barely touching his wrinkled skin. An inhuman mass appeared under his skin, right over his eyes and suddenly a third eye opened on his forehead. -I can see it all young lady.- The eye was vertical instead of horizontal and it was formed by dozens of interlocked spheres, forming a circle that kept orbiting around a single point of reddish light.
-I can see the threads that connect you with your toys flickering through the air, like the threads of the web weaved by a demon spider, connecting you with your creations…- He stopped mid explanation as he noticed something. -Curious… There is one of the strands that isn’t connecting to anything, but still reacts…- He had another condescending and arrogant smile on his face, looking down at Marika while he still levitated. -Did you lose one of your toys?- Seemingly Haigo could perceive the proximity with Cadence.
Callis got really red, really fast, a bit bashful by Haruko’s inquiries. -I met Messa… I met Akane....- The Beast Knight corrected himself, trying to snap out from his usual formality. -During a mission, I’m currently serving as an Agent for the Military Branch of JHWAB.- He stood up a straight as he said that, trying to emit an aura of authority. -And as much as I enjoy the chance of meeting you and Mes Cromwell again, I need to inform you that you’re inside this prison illegally and I’ll have to apprehend you.- Callis was pretty sure of himself until Haruko added the bit about Marika and Yuu. The Beast Knight got impercibly flustered by the mention of Yuu but kept his composure. -That certainly complicates things, I have not heard about a “Kuro-san” but Marika and Ikari being here is quite the problem.-
If this situation happened one year ago Callis wouldn’t have doubted for a second and as much as it would hurt him, he would have ordered his team to capture Gen’s Team. But a year serving under Norio Bushitora taught him the importance of being flexible from time to time. The Veteran Inspector put it best. “I can’t understand how somebody as nimble and flexible as you is so inflexible when it comes to thinking… You start learning that everything has a grading and black and white morality is for children or villains” Callis took those words to heart, he would still remain as dutiful and morally upright as always, but he understood that sometimes flexibility would be needed to complete his assignments on the JHWAB. So with a heavy heart, as he knew was going against procedure he said. -Under any other circumstances I would have you all arrested, but upon receiving the information you shared with us and knowing that something here is wrong I only have one course of action.- Callis walked towards Haruko, as he looked for something inside his coat.
Gen glared at Callis, seeing him from a position in which the Beast Knight hands were completely obscured by his coat. -HEY! What the fuck do ya think ya’re doin’?- He shouted as he moved towards Callis. The Beast Knight pulled both hands away from his coat, revealing his JHWAB ID. -Calm down Mes Shishioh, I was only getting my Bureau Identification documents.- Gen exhaled and stopped dead on his tracks, realizing he had been almost too rash. -Mes Miyata, under the condition that you explain what you and what I suppose is the team you are leading, are doing here, I will be willing to deputize you so you can help us against Marika Arachne and…- Callis made a pause and pulled up one of the tails of his coat, displaying a large ink stain, that he got from being close to the Kumos. -Sakka Jaakuma, who seemingly also is inside this prison, having replaced the guards with her own constructs.-
Gen spat on the floor, angry, but with a sinister smile. -That cunt?- He asked. -I still need to fuckin’ beat the shit out of her for what she did to me back in Romania. I’ll help, but I’m goin’ to do what we came to do as well and fuck ya if ya try to stop me kitty-cat.- Callis nodded. -We will consider that later, so what’re you doing here.- The Beast Knight asked, Gen, ignoring him, turned to Rin. -Rin!- He shouted, but she was silent, her eyes looking in another direction. -EARTH TO FUCKIN’ RIN!- He shouted again, finally getting his sister’s attention. She turned around, seemingly still red from her anger (Maybe). -W-what… what do you want?- She asked, kind of flustered. -Can ya help Pinky with the explanation ‘bout what the fuck are we doin’ here? I’ll keep an eye out for Goemon-san.- Rin nodded and walked towards Callis and Haruko, ready to fill any gaps left by Haruko’s explanation or explain for her if she didn’t want to. Rin glanced for a moment in Vladimir’s direction before helping Haruko, since Callis’ group arrived, the young Warrior had been observing the Draiochta Paladin with a lot of interest. She would never admit it, but he was her type.

Akane smiled when Haruko talked back to her, she clearly had some guts.
"I'm sorry, but that's the least you should expect, we were just attacked, so I'm sure you'll understand"
The sight of a strong, dependable woman was always nice. Looking back at Callis...well, he didn't look particularly dependable right now. What was going on?
She couldn't help but feel disappointed about nearly being called by honorifics at the first chance he had to introduce her, after all, she knew that was his way of putting distance between a person and himself. For some reason, he seemed to be sweating bullets at every single question Haruko brought to the table. It was like talking to Haruko had brought him back to his old self.
*And here I thought the grail was helping out with those anxiety problems*- she thought to herself. In any case, it was hardly the time to think about all that stuff, they had a mission to complete.
Haruko gave some information about the enemy and Callis seemed to respond to basically every name she mentioned save for one. She made a mental note on that as she followed the discussion. Things seemed to be ok for the most part, until Gen opened his mouth.
Quite easily, the most vulgar individual she had ever met. Even more than her sister. The way he so casually disrespected Callis was pissing her off to no end, and the way Callis did not defend himself added insult to injury. She clenched her fists and bit her own lip to the point of making it bleed just to stop herself from saying something. She took a deep breath, and just moved to the sidelines, whatever reason they gave Callis, he would probably accept it and move on.
"After I synthesize this energy, I'll have no need for stealth"- Z told Yuu. The collector began to channel all the stolen energy and his armor began to shift, after 3 minutes, he finally regained his original size and the small dents in his armor were fixed, but it did not stop there.
Every single plate on his body began to acquire a gloss finish, much akin to a well polished surface, the black armor had now acquired a gunmetal color to it. He looked at Yuu, his eyes were now of a deeper red, surrounded by a darkness only comparable to vantablack material.
"Follow me"
He walked towards their destination.

Dan had only briefly met Callis before, but Haruko and Arthur had both mentioned him. What they were saying now confirmed a lot of what he had heard. He was a shy guy with a strong sense of justice… and he still got a girlfriend before Dan, despite how he was stumbling over himself now. “Great to meet you properly. I hope you won’t hold that Sakurajima thing against me.” Dan offered his hand. “Sakurajima? What happened on Sakurajima?” Stephan eyed Callis behind his firm mask. The HWIC knew the JHWAB had a deal with a powerful figure to stay on the island, but they didn’t have much information beyond that. “JHWAB secret, I’m sure. I accept your offer, Callis.” Dan quickly interrupted, offering his hand to shake the beast knight’s. “I’d still like to hear, if you are able to share.” Stephan looked over the other group, taking them all in.
Yuu shuddered as Z grew and darkened, his true power revealed. “I will follow in a moment.” Yuu wrote a note for Martha and left it on her chest. “I’m ready, let’s go.” Yuu followed Z into the winding hallways. “What happened to you with Akane Musashi that you hold a grudge?” She asked, hoping to pass the time.
“Hey! He’s not hired help!” Marika yelled, but her anger quickly changed directions. “Lost toy… one of them is here!” Marika dove for the books on the floor, yanking open one that lay neglected. It proved to be a photo album, littered with pictures of various dolls, Marika and Miles. Most of them were simple modeling pictures, the various dolls dolled up in Marika’s outfits. Towards the front, however, were dolls that Miles had never seen. One, a little girl with green hair, showed up frequently. The other, a one-eyed blonde, only showed up in the background of photos, always surly and hidden away.
“It could be either of them… or Cadence…” Marika flipped forward to the first pictures of the hate dolls, where another green-haired girl appeared, exceptionally short but with generous proportions. “I could get them back… I could get them back! That’s amazing!” Marika beamed, thrilled at the prospect. She had so many children’s clothes lines she needed Cosmina for!

Vladimir did his best to cover his mouth, he was chuckling from Callis reaction. So someone as collected and formal as the Beast Knight could even blush and become a complete mess from a few questions. He couldn't say anything tho, it reminded himself back in the North Pole with Gallerian but the fact that it wasn't Gallerian bothering people at that point is what made him laugh...
God spare the poor blonde if he ever meets that Angel. However his good moment stopped when he noticed Akane's reaction. A shiver passed down in his spine, this wasn't good. He needed to keep Callis some advice, otherwise a quarrel would happen between the- No, he barely knew them... It wasn't going to be fine at all if he intruded. But somehow, he needed to warn Callis when he could.
He observed Gen... well, that kid surely was something else. It reminded him of Elatha somehow, probably that guy was also a poweful warrior. The way he insulted wasn't as annoying as his companions may think... actually... if Ela were here she would say something like "Kiddo, ya' are a newbie, let me do it. Ya' father wasn't even on yer's grandpa's balls when I started cursing"
Yep... Ela was too informal and quite vulgar but she was pretty talented. Probably, she would have liked the idea of meeting all this people. He mumble, but high enough to let Akane listen - I've met worse - He said with another chuckle. Then he moved towards Stephan and Dan
I'm quite curious too - The man spoke to Dan - Only that my interest comes from just being an old warrior - He joked before going with the rest. He had a strange feeling tho, like if... he was being observed? Probably it was that there were many people in one place.
He noticed that the girl the other boy was yelling at was quite red. How strange... well, not really, the place was windy out the outside so maybe she catched a cold from the low temperature outside the prison. In any case, a sick warrior wasn't one if they couldn't be at their fullest - Excuse me, are you feeling unwell? - He said approaching her, that girl was around... less than 25 years maybe? She was too young... well, most of the people here seemed to be young. Probably not many of them were even 40 or 50... just Stephan, and probably Callis.

Apprehend her!? Haruko felt a wave of dread wash over her.. Dan had told her plenty of horror stories about jail, and to avoid it, she might have to fight Callis! She breathed a sigh of relief when he offered instead to deputize her group. She was ready to hug him, before deciding it probably wasn’t a good idea. He was still easily spooked and had a somewhat hawkish girlfriend looking over.
“Thank you, Callis. Getting a little more relaxed, I see." Haruko joked. "As for why we are here…" This was a sticky situation. If she blatantly told him they were going to commit a major crime, he would probably reconsider. But perhaps there was a way to tell most of the truth.
"You are familiar with Gen's master, correct? Well, he was arrested a while ago, and..." She hesitated for a second. Why DID they want to break Reiji out?! Fortunately, a voice decided to pipe up. "...Reiji Fukuma...master of the 7 styles...the man who exiled himself to that island for...some reason…" Cadence interrupted, looking at the new group. "...I assume this has to do with what he was guarding...what might that be…?" She asked.
“To guard those medals he had, I assume.” Dan interrupted. “They contained monsters, but Gen can use them to get cool armor. I assume those powers are what makes them important to people. I want one myself.” He added as an afterthought. This made Cadence focus her attention onto him. "...medals? Monsters…?" She asked. Perhaps there was something to be gained after all.
"...so let me summarize...you were concerned about these...medals...and came to inquire about them from their...guardian?" Cadence began, Haruko nodding her head. "...yet upon arrival...you found the place taken over by this...Kuro-san and Ikari...and Marika…" The words were practically spat out by the plant doll. "...and of course your attempts to contact prison officials were useless...for Sakka replaced the staff…" Cadence motioned to the black stain. "...so you all...decided to break in out of desperation… am I on the right track…?" She asked. Haruko stared on with surprise. Why was this woman helping them so much?
Cadence shrugged her shoulders and leaned back in her chair. "...judging by the profile of that...Quan we ran into...this Reiji character's name seems to come up a lot...perhaps a visit is in order…?" The plant doll asked, motioning her pipe to Callis.
---
“Yeah, I’m her boyfriend, you jerkass.” Miles bristled. To think that anybody would mistake him for anything else! He held his tongue despite his fury. The mention of an escaped doll made him perk up with interest. "How in the world can you sense that? Is there anything you can tell about them?" He asked.
Miles wasn't around for Cosmina and Marceline's escape, but he did remember the rage that Marika was put into when she realized Cadence was gone. Personally, he likes how a doll that smart and sneaky was gone...so perhaps he could convince Marika to reprogram her if Cadence is here! “This is the best, Marika! If she’s back, we can reclaim her. And this time… make sure she’ll never leave.”

Callis didn't seem to appreciate the team being there to help them out. In fact, if they hadn't blurted out a name that caught Callis's attention, he probably would've booked them right then and there. Another tough fight right after the Ikari one was not something Arthur needed, even if that would present a chance for the duel Callis proposed all those years ago. It didn't seem like a far-fetched idea when Callis asked Haruko to tell him what they were really doing there.
They didn't need to wrack their minds too much, thankfully. The girl they met first cut in quickly and gave them an entire cover-story. It was a shame he couldn't really thank her now...
"Well, you guys can trade info here, I guess. I'll check on Gen. I think the last fight might have shaken him up a bit," Arthur said. He waved at them and went to where the ex-delinquent was.
"So Gen, how're you feeling after that little scuffle? I thought you chilled out a bit, but you went after that strong guy with, uh, quite a bit of your old gusto."

-I’m fan-fuckin’-tastic.- Gen coldly replied as he looked over the railing, with distant eyes, seemingly focused on something else. -Except we lost Goemon and he is still fuckin’ fightin’ down there.- He pointed beneath them. -Ya ain’t a Ki user, so ya can’t sense it, but they’re goin’ at it with much more gusto than I could ever muster.- The Former Spirit Boxer seemed to be fine, but the tone of his voice transmitted more worry than he wanted to express.
-I’m okay, really, don’t need to worry.- Rin could hear her heart beating hard. Vladimir had the distinguished air she liked seeing on a man, not to mention the wisdom deep within his eyes. Still she realized that she couldn’t start swooning like a highschooler and that she had something to do. She inhaled and exhaled once, taking control back from her emotions. She walked towards the main group. -We’ve come here under the instructions of Hibiki Nensho, Reiji’s master, as there is some kind of grave danger about to hit the world and Fukuma-sensei might be the only one with the information needed to stop said catastrophe.- Callis nodded. -That indeed sounds quite dangerous, but if that was the case why didn’t you and your brother contact the JHWAB- The Beast Knight inquired only to get almost interrupted by Gen’s reply. -Ya know what Kitty-kat? I liked ya more when ya didn’t change your whiskers for a leash with da fuckin’ government.-
Callis kept his emotions in check, turning to face the incoming Gen, who seemed pretty pissed. -Yer fuckin’ JHWAB forced my Master into fuckin’ exile.- The Hot-Blooded Brawler off-handedly pointed at Cadence. -Miss Brocoli there has the wrong idea, Fukuma-sensei’s exile wasn’t self-fuckin’-imposed.- Gen spat on the floor as he glared at Callis. -Ya and yer fuckin’ JHWAB can go fuck themselves for all I care.- Rin moved towards her brother. -Gen, we really could use their help.- He glared at her and popped his neck. Gen exhaled, frustrated and turned around, Rin successfully defusing his incoming rant. The Hot-Blooded Brawler decided to walk towards the inside of the Maximum Security Wing, without losing sight of the group, to keep watch. Callis was a bit flustered by the whole situation and didn’t even got the chance to reply to Gen. He bowed his head to Rin, thanking her intervention.
The Beast Knight then turned to the rest of the group. -For now we will work together and subdue the criminals that have taken over this prison, afterwards if our new additions want to do something else I might be too busy dealing with paperwork to notice.- Callis was being as flexible as he could possibly be. -I say we investigate this area and find out what we can about the enemy, their total numbers and their current location.- Callis continued. -We will not split the group apart, safety in numbers is the principle that will forge this team.- The Beast Knight actually didn’t want to lose track of Gen’s theme. -Are those conditions okay with you Messa Miyata?- Callis asked to Haruko, still under the assumption she was leading the team.
Deeper in the Maximum Security Wing several cells opened up, thanks to Eiyu Shomei’s intervention. -Ladies and Gentlemen, if you check your necks you’ll notice a very elegant collar.- The Mad Scientist’s words made all the prisoners check their necks, finding a silver ring tightly around them. - You’re going to do some clean up work and maybe I’ll let all of you go, got it?- Many smiles appeared among the shadowy figures until one came out from the shadows smiling. He was a tall man, around 30 years old, with long unkempt brown hair falling over his shoulders. He had a cruel smile. -What I can do for you?- Takamaru Washiyama, formerly butler and bodyguard for the Shishioh family, asked with a devilish emerald gleam coming out from his eyes.
Quan, the Silent Fist, was a man of many mysteries, his techniques secretive and arcane, his mastery over Ki almost unmatched, but right now one of those mysteries will be revealed, as his signature technique was nothing more than a very refined bunshin technique, with certain conditions. First he needed to be in a deep meditative state and he needed to be on a location which lacked any natural light as he was weaving shadows into the creation of his bunshin. He was sitting cross legged at the bottom of the Maximum Security Wing, without realizing, as he was deeply immersed into his own mind, that around him Goemon and Ichigan were beating the ever living crap out of each other.

"I've heard enough," Akane said as she calmly stopped leaning and came back from the corner. she looked at Callis without a shred of the shine her eyes usually had whenever she was with him.
"I cannot find enough words to tell you how disappointed I am."
Her eyes were full of sadness and regret. She tried to keep a stern look, but her own emotions were breaking her facade. She was truly sad.
"Are you done letting him walk all over you? or are you gonna lick where he spat next? there is very distinct line between being humble, and being pathetic. do you know what would my father say if he saw all this? He would kill me for fooling him into thinking you were a man who cares about honor"
She tried to compose herself for a second in order not to raise her voice. She wanted him to understand her disappointment, her anger, her sadness. She looked at Gen and Rin, then back at Callis
"Apparently you are bent on letting them do whatever they please. "Too busy with paperwork to notice" huh? That's fine, you can abuse your authority to favor your friends, Even though you told me to do things according to protocol just moments ago. Just don't forget to resign from your current position in the JHWAB as soon as this mission is over, please do. clearly your loyalty is with these people and not with your institution. I understand I am no one to tell you this, In fact, you can always ignore my opinion and keep your position, but I dont think I could ever bring myself to respect you after this if you don't.
Akane turned away, wiping a couple of tears off her eyes. she unsheathed two of her blades and headed towards Gen.
"Gen Shishioh, You are going to apologize to Callis right now, or I will make you"
It was all this man's fault. He was the one who made a fool out of the man she loved. If Callis wasnt gonna fight for his own honor, she would. Akane could have understood them being deputized, but not letting them do whatever they pleased. The man she loved was bending over backwards for this filth of a human being to the point he was betraying his own word. Something had to be done.
"She is the one who contacted the JHWAB and turned me into a target. I feed twice a month, while humans kill other creatures at much faster rates. I do not consider myself a hazard to the ecosystem and yet, they have locked me here. The energy I absorbed today was more than what I tend to consume in a year. They have brought this upon themselves...I...almost feel sad for them"
Z began to accelerate the pace, his body was different, there was something inside of him that he had never felt before, and it was growing, more and more. Unfortunately, there was no time to reflect on it.
"So, what will you do once you find this group? there must be someone you are after or something you want"
