Arthur had no issues with Goemon taking his opponent. At full power, he might have tried going after Ikari's new form, but he wasn't suicidal enough to want to go again right now. Besides, didn't Gen say Goemon was probably the strongest one here?
“Arthur, move!”
Haruko's shout made Arthur realize he lost track of the battlefield while in his thoughts. He scanned it quickly and saw the beam leaving Z's blaster a moment before Haruko dove between them. Her wedge protected them, but Arthur could sense just how much of a struggle it was with her fleeting stores of mana. It made him remember certain stupid things he did a couple of years ago. Heh, she really was a great friend. He looked at his hands. He felt the candy taking effect, returning some mana to him and his strength with it. He cracked his knuckles and got up.
"Thanks, Ruko. I owe you five. You earned a break now."
The ice mage lept over the wedge and the beam, he kicked off of a floating ice wall and darted like a bullet past Z. Turning around on a dime, he aimed a kick with his shin at the back of the armored creature's knee and summoned a sword of ice to cut off the arm holding the blaster.

A-Allright! - Vladimir answered Stephan before the other dissapeared in the hallway towards the room.
As the man observed both Callis and Akane being hit by that man, he tried reaching the Book again. Trying to digure out what was happening... How? Why they couldn't touch that man but he could? What kind of unfair thing was haplening here?
A spectrum? An astral projection? Spiritual energy? A clon? A... fake body? Some kind of modern hologram? It didn't had sense!
His train of thoughts got interrupted in the moment he saw Cadence walking towards the man, the girl was going to be killed then and there. She couldn't be that reckless!
Miss Cadende! You shouldn't take rigorous actions without knowing what he actually is! - The man tried to run towards her until he felt his own body stopping completely. He glanced has his legs that were covered in the dust spell... He got immobilized by his own spell!?!?!?!?!?! S-Such bad luck!

Cadence’s reasoning wasn’t as sound as she thought. It was clear that Quan had some kind of presence as he could make contact with them. She didn’t know he was mute, so that covered his lack of speech. As soon as the doll advanced the Silent Fist unleashed a single jab, a swift motion from a neutral stance, aimed to her forehead, so fast and sudden even the fighters among them wouldn’t be able to react to it from such a distance. But unlike the attacks to Callis and Akane he just performed, this one was way weaker, more or less like a basic human punch, as if there was some kind of rule behind the attack since the speed and the motion was the same. The Beast Knight, still reeling from the attack, rushed forward to block the attack with both his blades, but he was launched backward by another impossibly fast attack. The Beast Knight managed to get the rhythm of the attack, but still, the force behind it caught him by surprise and even with a tight guard he was launched backward. Callis spun mid-air, defusing part of the force and landed on the floor sinking the blades of his weapons on the ground to stop his movement. -What in the name of the Ancient Magus is he doing?-
Meanwhile back in the office Stephan frantic scrolling made him pass over several individuals, some bizarre looking, others clearly having Oddity blood on them and finally after what seemed an eternity he encountered somebody similar, he might skip it by accident as the photo was old and Quan lacked his long beard, but the “DANGER: MAXIMUM SECURITY” warning might get his attention.
Quan Jian - The Silent Fist - Prisoner 414 - Maximum Security Ward
Quan Jian, also known as “The Silent Fist” is one of the strongest martial artists in the world, being part of a select group who reached the top 10 ranking of the Spirit Boxing Federation. Quan is a master of Japanese Kenpo, master of the Muon Ken, taught to him by Hibiki Nensho, the Sage of the Red Mountain. The Silent Fist is a deadly martial artist known for his eerie aura and merciless fighting style, always centered on destroying the enemy with their own strength. Apart from his skills, which alone are enough to fight against any Hidden World Master, Quan posses a Perfected Ougi based on a skill from his Master. “Kyomu no Kokoro” (The Heart of Nothingness) which allows him to, described by some who fought him, become a ghost. The only known fighters who managed to crack the secret behind his technique are Nensho, who created the basis for the technique and his fellow student Reiji Fukuma.
This information might prove useful to discover the true nature of Quan’s powers and how to counteract them.
-That’s what ya fuckin’ get!- Gen smiled triumphantly as he stood up, but soon he realized he was in trouble. The energy he was drawing from his medal suddenly shifted directions, enticed by the fight between Ichigan and Goemon. -Goddammit!- The Hot-Blooded Boxer cursed just as Martha unleashed her offensive. Gen tensed up his whole body, mixing Karate and Boxing guards to maximize his defense, but the flurry of blows managed to pierce through his defenses. He counted at least 4 punches before he was pushed back and rolled on the ground. He could taste the blood on his lips and felt the pain on his forearms and chest. She got him good. Gen glared at the medal. “WHAT THE FUCK!? I THOUGHT WE HAD A DEAL!” He shouted on his mind, only to get the response <Sorry, busy now, don’t bother me.>
Ichigan and Goemon were locked in a deadly exchange of blows, each hit parried, blocked or avoided, followed by a small shockwave. The Karate Star was clearly on the defensive, stepping backward and to the sides attempting to handle the seemingly untiring onslaught of attacks incoming from his Master. -Ichigan-sensei! Snap out of it! Remember me! I’m Goemon! The Afro-Bastard!- Goemon attempted to reach out Ichigan, but he didn’t seem to be listening, his eyes were white and moved as a tornado of martial prowess. A nasty punch managed to avoid Goemon’s parry and connected on his cheek, sending the Karate Star backward as a jet of blood sprouted out of his mouth. He kept his cool going back to his stance as Ichigan moved faster adding more power to his attack. Something was weird, how did he kept this offensive for so long without resting? -Everyone get away, I don’t know for how much longer I can handle him!-
-Ugh... this is the last time I hear Gen's plans...- Rin, still reeling from Ikari’s attack forced herself to stand up and prepared her bow. She couldn’t help Goemon, so she decided to help Arthur. Gathering her Ki and clearing her mind, she focused on her target. While Gen’s energy always had been like a raging fire, exploding into being from the very core of his soul, Rin drew Ki from stillness and reflexion, her mind was a clear pond of water and when she attacked it was like throwing a stone. The waves that formed became the energy she used to attack. With that mental image in mind, she gathered energy and aimed at Z’s legs. The single Ki arrow on her bow suddenly doubled and then doubled again, 4 arrows were held between her fingers and then she released her hand.
SUIGIN NO BUKI: Yumi no Kagenui (Mercury Weapon: Shadow Sewing Bow)
Her intent was to direct her Ki arrows and pierce Z’s feet, pinning them to the floor, to stop him from moving so Arthur would have an easier time attacking.

Akane was not as eager to engage, looking at Cadence move forward made her question wether she had a death wish in the first place, wether she was right or not, putting her life on the line for a guess was not worth it. she clenched her fists as a gut wrenching feeling overcame her. The moment Quan punched and Callis went to rescue she almost wanted to stop him, but it was all too fast to even say something. She watched as how Callis was sent flying and moved to help him recover.
"Don't do reckless stuff! we still need to find a weakness!"-She said to her boyfriend clearly worried, as trying to defend others at this stage could prove to be fatal.
Musashi was simply decided to counter by attacking the fingers, even if his body was untangible he had to be tangible to touch her. She drew her weapon and calmed down as she waited for intel to arrive, maybe with the proper clues she could do something!
Rin's Ki arrows stuck to Z's feet but they did not pierce through, he looked at the arrows completely distracted as Arthur rushed him, the moment he kicked Z, he would notice he was harder than a solid block of titanium, nonetheless, his kick and sword attack worked, the kinetic force he packed behind the blows had not been absorbed somehow. Z finished absorbing Rin's ki arrows and slightly staggered from the blows, the collector looked at rin and decided she would be too much of hindrance.
*there are too many targets, i need to reduce their numbers*
"I won't play games anymore, maybe you are not worthy, but I'll use a favorite of my collection"
With one swift movement Z drew his blade, a pure white more beautiful than the brightest snow covered the hamon.
The aura of the blade made the earth tremble as he took a swing.
If Arthur was paying attention,he would notice the edge of the blade was gone, it was almost as if everything but the pummel had disappeared, but where did it go?
the edge materialized just 5 centimeters above Rin's shoulder, the katana had cut through space itself to get to rin.
In the same motion, the collector swung again, this time materializing the blade 5 centimeters to Arthur's left arm, aiming to slice it right in half, the blade hadnt even disappeared on rins side but it was also present aiming for Arthur. it was as if two of them existed at the same time.
Back with Yuu and Dan, the automaton was jammed by the kunai attacks, the robot's legs began to catch on fire and so it promptly detatched the limbs, the new, smaller creature jumped at Yuu with the intent to absorb her energy, despite its smaller size, it was still as heavy as a compact car.

“I found it!” Stephan called out, swiftly reading through Quan’s bio. “Well that’s not excellent news.” He muttered when he read that this man trained alongside the legendary Reiji Fukuma. As a martial artist himself, he knew well that anything connected to Reiji was bound to be a nightmare. He spoke the most important information out loud and put the tablet away. He had to imagine that nobody had figured out Quan’s power because nobody survived long enough to think especially hard about it. At this rate, they would not survive much longer themselves. Especially not Cadence, suicidally approaching Quan with no defenses. She was too far away for Stephan to even think of jumping in, but surprisingly, Quan’s attack moved without nearly the force all his others had. Had she cracked some kind of secret? Cautiously, arms up, he walked towards Quan at a snail’s pace.
Martha fell to one knee when Gen went rolling. “Hah! Gotcha!” She called through shattered teeth. Excitement and stubbornness were the only things keeping her from collapsing entirely. How could she fall when she was about to win? She never got to win! Magic flowed through dry veins, pushing her to her feet. The wind rushed from the speed of her movements, and she seemed to snap between positions as she cracked her knuckles and stretched. “You were a great fight! I’m gonna show you my new special move I’ve been planning for a special occasion! Super Helicopter Hyper Ki-” A pink-shielded fist smashed across the back of Martha’s skull, cutting short her sentence and preparation. She stumbled a few feet forward, half turning to see him. Her eyes crossed as she fell and all she saw was a blurry mass of pink.
“And that’s what happens when you have no awareness of your surroundings.” Dan watched Martha for a moment to make sure she wasn’t getting up again. She pushed herself up on one arm for just a moment when she saw what was happening not far away. “Z… Arthur… don’t fight… no…” She whispered and collapsed entirely. Not even her chest rose and fell now. “Don’t worry about that. She’s fine.” Dan explained until he realized he was talking to Gen. He stared for a few seconds before turning away, blushing. Should he just tell him he wasn’t interested? No, that would be too awkward if Gen didn’t admit that he had a crush first! Just focus on Z! Dan had gotten a glimpse of Gen’s fight with Martha and it had granted him some ideas.
He ducked past the oversized alien and grabbed him around the waist from behind. It was only a slight stretch to properly grab him. He had always wanted to do this to an enemy, but worried about hitting his own head. But with an enemy two feet taller than himself, it was perfect! Dan pulled back and attempted to put Z’s skull through the floor with a crushing German suplex.
Yuu was surprised when the creature straight up dropped its limbs to attack again. She was ready enough to dodge, but she was quickly running out of kunai and places to throw them. She threw the last few in her hands into the creature’s mouth. More entered her palm with a flick of her wrist and she threw them at the mechanical monster’s remaining limbs. If this didn’t work, it was time for a retreat. Away from this fight and off this floating prison entirely. Take the dolls and flee. Lay low until Kuro-san was handled. Maybe burn the monster first. Yes, for the sake of the world, she should.

The sudden jab toward her forehead made Cadence stumble backwards, catching herself and commanding another small wooden stool to form at her feet, in which she sat upon. She briefly rolled her eyes when she remembered Vlad trying to stop her a few seconds ago. A look of casual contemplation was on her face as she tried to process the recent events.
“...how interesting...either you were holding back...or there is...something more…” Why did he punch her with such a small amount of force? Callis jumped in as she was being punched and was sent flying, showing he was hit with far more force. Could it be possible this man had some sort of variable strength? She then began to think about the powers he displayed.
He didn’t attack her at the start of the battle...and sent attacks at everyone who attacked him at the beginning. The strength of these attacks seemed to be proportional to the amount of kinetic impact they used in their own strikes. So why was punch directed at her so weak?
Listening to Stephen rattle off what she supposed was the profile of their opponent, everything started to fit together. The accolades were meaningless to Cadence, but one part stood out to her. “The Silent Fist is a deadly martial artist known for his eerie aura...and merciless fighting style...always centered on destroying the enemy with their own strength…” The doll repeated to herself. Her earlier thought then clicked with this new information.
“...you’re taking our kinetic energy...aren’t you…?” Cadence asked, looking straight at Quan from her stool. “Those attacks earlier...you didn’t dodge until the last second...I assume that is the range of this...aura.” She took another puff of her pipe, trying to get rid of the mild headache. “...that punch just now...could it just have been the kinetic energy of me simply...walking into you?” Cadence asked casually. In addition to her general apathy, this fight seemed far more pleasant the less someone did to this man. The plant doll raised her voice to address everyone.
“Stop attacking this man. If he uses your strength against you...don’t give him any to use…don’t even approach him...” Cadence called to the group. She sat on her stool and continued to stare up at Quan.
“...so...where do you wish to go from here…? I noticed you haven’t said a word...but maybe you can write…?” The plant doll asked, commanding 2 vines to rise out of the pile beneath her and grow into a thin sheet of paper and a thin pencil sans eraser, the tip coated in a strange black substance normally found as sap within certain trees and diluted so it wouldn’t be too thick to use as ink.
---
Even after her wedge managed to save Arthur, the situation continued to spiral out of control. Yuu seemed to have vanished thankfully...but this strange man continued to bat away the group’s attacks, and Goemon was at the end of his rope facing his master. His warning, coupled with the fact that everyone else sans Gen was focused on Z, made Haruko come to the decision to try and help Goemon.
“Well...here goes nothing…” Haruko uneasily muttered to herself as she focused her attention on making 3 rectangular bricks made out of mana in midair, condensing the constructs so they would be far more dense than her normal ones. “He does seem distracted…” The seamstress observed. Perhaps there was more she could do?
Focusing upon the ground directly behind Ichigan, Haruko formed an ultra thin construct the same color as the floor and aimed to slide it directly under Ichigan’s feet, then tilting the construct upwards to throw off his feet’s positions. She then sent her 3 dense bricks directly at Ichigan’s head to try and distract him long enough for Goemon to either land a blow himself, or to get out of there so they could all escape.

Arthur landed on one leg and shook the other. Kicking a wall seemed like it would be softer than this guy. But he still managed to move! If he can push him, he can probably hurt him. Then how about using something that involved less kicking? While Arthur considered it, Z pulled out a curious sword. Its mystic nature was obvious and put Arthur on the defensive. He didn't know what it could do, but previous experiences made him certain it was nigh-indestructible and probably way sharper than a regular sword.
Z swung towards Rin. The floor trembled. But he was nowhere near his target. Could it launch long range attacks? Wait... No! The blade disappeared!
"Move, Rin!" He instructed, but quickly found himself in the same situation when Z swung toward him. He jumped to the side, barely escaping with just a red line spreading slowly through his sleeve. He was fine for the second, but could he keep dodging if Z kept swinging? He had to stop that sword somehow!
Arthur formed two frost orbs in his hands. Before he managed to hurl them though, Dan charged in and tried to wrap his arms around Z from behind. Was he really straining to try and suplex him? With how hard he felt to Arthur's kick, was Dan even strong enough to lift him up? He didn't even have a chance to practice with his new fighting spirit yet. What's more, it messed with Arthur's plan!
"Dan, let go! It's too dangerous while he has that sword!" If he swings, could the blade reappear even behind him? Arthur could only hope Dan would listen to him when he threw his frost orbs. Even then, he set them off before they impacted Z to minimize any damage Dan would take. The main reason he used them wasn't for damage anyway! The orbs exploded when they were in range of Z's outstretched arm. The explosion covered with ice everything in its fairly short vicinity. The ice then moved to wrap around Z's arm and build itself toward the ground. If it attached itself there, Arthur hoped Z wouldn't be able to move his arm. And that would mean he also couldn't swing the sword!

The ex-paladin went red as the spell was still active. Until a few seconds more after Cadence got hit by the prisoner, he could move his body again. So in case the spell worked it would be still useless due to its short duration... Quan could have gone after them even if he got hit by it...
As he analized what everyone had said, Vladimir only got more confused... so if this man was actually a living person and he was deflecting his opponent's strenght against them... then how do you break such a technique? Do you force it at the point of breaking it? No. It could end the other way around and everyone's strenght could easily hurt his allies instead of him... He observed the man once again, what on Earth was he doing? What kind of technique? Why it is so lethal? All of a sudden he snapped... not because he find a solution but because his embarrassament couldn't go any worse at the sudden realization.
Y-You are younger than me! - The man exclaimed in discomfort, his day did nothing but shame him more and more. He remembered what Cadence has said... about not caring about her life... a man this strong... no. This man is younger than him, but there is something else! He is a mere human... a mere human with-- That's right...
Sir... Y-You are not in prison for being dangerous, right? - The man hessitated to move forwad, but he did it - You are a mere human... but you are living more years than needed... You want an enemy t-that... - He couldn't finish his sentence. Anyone would have gone mad at Candece, she didn't sound arrogant for him but maybe for others it does... because is treatening, someone that is not afraid of death or even the power someone may have, that would scare any enemy, that would anger anyone proud of their own power... He sighed... Was this man empy? A Driaochta could handle being alive for at least 400 years like him... but a mere human... if they had to live that long they'll probably lose their mind and joy in life... Maybe he could reach the man by empathize with him?
Your situation is sad, sir... Although I couldn't understand it... I would be afraid having such a short life like more humans have... But I understand we are different species... - He said, standing a few steps from the man - There must be a way to end your misery...

-Yikes!- Rin barely had time to react, but thanks to her radiating Ki she noticed the disturbance around her much earlier than other fighters would. This was another difference between her and Gen, as her control of Ki was more subtle and refined, even if she had been practicing for much less time than her brother. The blade still managed to slice her shoulder, but she reacted flawlessly spinning in place as her weapon shifted into a naginata and she performed her Muon Sanpo while spinning her weapon. The solidified liquid metal clashed against the floating weapon sent by Z. She stood in guard, this wasn’t the first time she fought against an unmanned sword and she planned to put her experience to the test, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Gen didn’t pay attention to Dan words, he merely nodded as a response to his help but he was too busy entangled in an inner conversation “WHAT THE FUCK DO YA MEAN BUSY!?” He shouted internally at the Gainen trapped on his medal. <I mean I’m busy, can’t you see that fight? That’s proper battle kiddo.> Gen popped his neck letting out a frustrated sigh while glaring at the medal. “ARE… YOU… FUCKIN’... KIDDIN’ ME!? YA CAN’T JUST CUT ME OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT!” Battle snarled. <You call that preschool slap fest a fight? You shouldn’t aim low, why didn’t you go against one of the big fishes, like that weird guy attacking your sister with a floating sword.> Gen stopped complaining and for the first time, he looked around, seeing the wounds on Rin and the others in the group fighting against Z.
“Ya’re fuckin’ right… so fuckin’ power me up so I can take this fuckin’ bastard.” The Gainen chuckled. <That’s the spirit kiddo, for for it.>
Gen clutched the medal on his hand and glared at Dan. -Ya should back the fuck away, or ya’ll get burnt.- He proclaimed fiercely as energy swirled around him, drawing Gainen Power from the battlefield itself, becoming golden flames surrounding Gen. The intense whirlwind spinning with him as the eye of the hurricane got wilder and brighter as Gen jumped up and landed fist first and all the energy gathered into his hand, exploding into a fiery golden pillar. Metallic noises echoed across the battlefield, coming out from inside the pillar and finally, a massive lion-like roar shook the room dispersing the energy and revealing Gen, clad in his Wild Battle Armor with both clawed hands crossed in front of his face. His fingers closed at once and the pressure of that clenching released a shockwave. Gen pointed at Z with two fingers.
<Ya’ve done fucked up!> He exclaimed, his voice having a metallic undertone. <Nobody hurts my sister or my friends and fuckin’ walks away in one fuckin’ piece.> And with that he charged forward, attempting to connect a dropkick on Z’s face, aiding Dan’s attempt to Suplex the Alien Hunter, something Gen could respect.
Goemon got his second wind as Ichigan’s attacks had decreased, whatever was powering up seemingly decided to stop and give the Karate Star a breather. Goemon ignored that he also could’ve powered up as Ichigan did, who as a previous user of the Battle Medal, had been drawing the energy from it without even realizing it. Goemon parried three consecutive haymakers. -Ichigan-sensei, I don’t want to hurt you, but I’ll if you don’t stop right now.- The only reply was an attempted clinch so Goemon, for the first time during the fight, took the offensive, deftly avoiding the hands of his master and connecting a trio of elbow strikes with little motion but great speed right to the chin, nose, and temple of Ichigan, who took a couple of steps, dazed by the attack. Haruko’s assistance couldn’t have arrived at a better time, as her construct made Ichigan lose balance and the bricks only helped even more. They didn’t cause any real damage, but it was more than enough to get Goemon a crucial moment.
The Karate Star burn away his hesitation and decided to incapacitate his master, or at least stop him for enough time to allow the others to leave without the fear of being persecuted. Goemon took a step forward while performing a Seiken. But it wasn’t a mere step, as at the starting moment he cloaked his body with Ki and detonated a small bubble of the same energy beneath his heels to grant him an explosive dash. A booming noise followed his massive fist until it connected directly to Ichigan’s throat. The Berserker Master finally seemed to be affected by a blow and lowered his head while taking both hands towards his neck.- Sorry Sensei, this hurts me more than it hurts you!- Goemon proclaimed as he grasped Ichigan’s wrist and jumped, using his Jujutsu training and locking a triangle choke on Ichigan. -I don’t know for how long I can keep this hold! If you can leave and find Reiji-sensei this would be the best time to do it!- Goemon shouted at the group, hoping that at least one would be free to rush away from the battlefield.
Quan reacted to the incoming Stephan by jabbing him with barely any force. It seems Cadence was quite right this time around. The Silent Fist was known by this name as the user didn’t emit a sound, or better put those who fight him can’t hear him, as he isn’t exactly there. The real Quan is merely projecting a solid mass of Ki that takes Kinetic Energy and redirects it to the source. -Thank you Akane.- Callis, helped by Akane, stood up studying the situation with fresh eyes. -That makes sense.- He said, upon hearing Cadence’s reasoning. -Follow her instructions, nobody interacts with the enemy.- The Beast Knight put away his weapons and started circling around Quan being really careful of not touching him. Calmer than before he used Ki Sensing on the enemy, something he should’ve done earlier. There wasn’t any substance to the Quan they’re seeing, it was just a mass of Ki.
-He is not here, this is some sort of duplicate… how did Messa Kikkawa call them?- Callis tried to remember something Akane Kikkawa, one of Norio Bushitora assistants, said. -A Bunshin!- The Beast Knight snapped his fingers remembering the Ninjutsu term used by the Digital Shinobi. -We have been played, he never was here.- Quan didn’t seem to react, is almost as if this duplicate couldn’t even see them. Callis even went to the extreme of passing his hand in front of the Bunshin's eyes, generating no reaction whatsoever.

"A bushin? This is the first time I see it. I'm not sure how many of our Allied clan Koga can do it, but Ive heard some shinobi within the Akunin were able to perform the technique... So, if this isnt the real one, where is he?!"- Akane said With her guard fully up. It's not like knowing about the skill would end it. Quan was just as dangerous as before. ------------
Z might have been fighting too many opponents, but he still had cards to utilize against them. The moment Dan grabbed him and Arthur tried to immobilize him, he released some of the energy he had absorbed from the explosions, the collector wildly twisted his body and made some space between the group attacking him. Wether Arthur or Dan were caught by the explosion it was none of his business.
"Not yet...I need to consume...more"
The collector looked upon Gen's transformation, this was the actual first time he had some room to look around. It was at that moment when Z looked at Martha, fully knocked out unconcious.
the collector swung his blade at Gen's dropkick. A powerful, drum shattering shockwave echoed across the prison. That was probably the first hit since he got here that the collector truly felt.
"Gainen?...yours is...nothing like Ikari's, I need more...power"
Z roared like a wild beast, emitting a machine-like noise that no creature on earth could replicate.
In an instant, the spider automaton that was chasing Yuu came back, The burning pieces it previously detatched as well. All spiders latched onto Z as they gave him the energy they collected from the damage Made to them. The robot dissolved into powder, but Z had clearly grown in size. A red aura enveloped him as he looked at the armored fighter.
"None of you will leave this place alive"- He said as he took a small clear marble. The moment he pressed it, the collector jumped back at least 5 meters away. The clear ball began to pulse, growing at times as large as a basketball and at others shrinking back to the size of a peeble. The Marble began to erratically fly all over the area, it went through a wall and erased it as if it was never there. Whatever this thing touched, it would partially teleport.
Z swung his blade five times, 4 at Gen and once at Dan, with his other hand, he began to shoot fine fire shots at Arthur while the Marble moved straight towards rin, growing and shinking in size. If she was lucky, it would be like getting shot by a small caliber gun, if she wasnt, it would be worse than stepping on a landmine. The Marble would go after everyone in the area including Z, wether the teleporter was small or massive would be up to luck.
The collector might have looked overwhelmed, but he knew exactly who to Target and why. He was making his way slowly but surely all the way to Martha. He would get her out of the harms way Even if that meant using all of his energy in the process.

Quan’s puny jab scraped off of Stephan’s armor like it was nothing. Stephan’s shoulders fell and a deep sigh escaped his lungs. The Nucleus relaxed as well, antennae falling. “Well, that bridge is crossed.” He muttered, Nucleus peeling away from his face so he could wipe his forehead. “I’ve seen assassins that can make afterimages with their ki, but they’re always static. I’ve never seen one that could attack, or even move.” Stephan gave the ki projection a wide berth. He looked down at the little doll that figured it out. “That was some impressive deduction.” He praised her with a gentle smile.
Dan had barely gotten his arms around Z when overwhelming force blasted him away. The wind was driven from his lungs by the force and he felt his ribs strain from the sheer force. Across the floor he went tumbling, only stopped by a soft embrace. “Are you alright?” Yuu asked. “I’m great.” Dan relaxed for just a second in her grip before she set him down. That wasn’t bad. She wasn’t his usual type, but anybody who could catch him after being thrown from an explosion won some points in his book. Both watched Z unleash the full scope of his power.
The first thing Dan noticed was the sword swinging at himself, sending him diving to the ground early. The wall split apart behind him. The first thing Yuu noticed (after making sure Dan was in one piece) was that Z was moving towards Martha. She knew they had formed an odd relationship, but she still could see no good coming from this. “I’m taking Martha and leaving. You and your friends should flee as well. This fight is over.” Yuu turned, but before she could take a step, Dan slipped in front of her. “Wait a second!” He held up his hands. “Help us out! I saw you fighting. Together we can win this!” Yuu looked past him, at Martha lying helpless while armored feet and magical vanishing balls flew all over the place. “If this works, you can count this as a victory.” Yuu rushed past Dan and scooped Martha off the ground. “I have her, Z! Let’s go!” Yuu ran back for the entrance, ignoring Dan’s sour face. The pink man’s an idiot. The Marika-voice sneered. He thinks one little bit of help makes you friends. I guess he’s like you with Callis. I bet you’re breaking his heart. Yuu huffed and did her best to shut out the voice’s words. She didn’t have time for Marika-voice’s crap today. Dan watched her go with a sigh. Well that sucked. Still, making Z retreat so they could get out of here was a victory in its own right. He was well aware there wasn’t much he could do right now. “I’m going to go find Reiji!” Dan did something he thought he would never do; he turned and ran from the fight.

The strange silence Quan gave her indicated to Cadence that he probably wasn’t able to respond at all, made more apparent when Callis confirmed her suspicions. “...bushin…?” She asked out loud. Cadence had never heard of such a creature before. Her gave then fell upon Stephen as he praised her deductive skills.
“...it’s just how my mind works…” She said, not caring much for the praise, especially from someone who probably thought she was some sort of child. The plant doll commanded the stool to grow into a chair similar to the one she came into the room with and leaned against the comfortable arm rest, moving toward the direction they were headed in before Quan showed up.
“...let’s just move on...I am sure we’ll...encounter this man again…” She stated, keeping a slow enough pace to where the person with the map could catch up.
---
No matter where Haruko seemed to direct her attention, more chaos seemed to erupt elsewhere in the room. Gen had somehow powered up and was attacking the strange armored man with everyone else, and Goemon had finally managed to get Ichigan into a hold, thanks in part to her assistance. His demand that they flee came as a surprise to the seamstress though.
“Leave?! But…” While Haruko wanted to protest...she knew that this man was probably as strong as Ikari was, if not more so. She remembered how both Sid and Crow working together couldn’t put a dent in that man, and Callis was barely able to keep up despite the power he drew from those strange blades he had. Perhaps...they could get Reiji before Goemon’s strength gave out?
Turning away, Haruko only glimpsed Yuu catching Dan and, then sprinting away while calling for the alien man. Haruko pointed toward the doorway and beckoned the others. “Everyone, we have to go! Now!” She yelled to get all their attention. Even if they could defeat Z here...would would be the point if Ichigan managed to defeat Goemon and came after everyone else?

Vladimir went back on his steps, so all what he said was in vain... well, this time it was less embarrasing than just being paralyzed by his own spell. Which made things worse. Thankfully he felt a bit better knowing that that man was actually an astral projection... or something similar like that.
I never heard of this kind of creature, I may need to study this later when I get home - The man spoke more for himself than towards his comrades before following them, he glanced one last time to the Silent Fist, a bit uneasy about him not going after them.

With Dan and Gen joining in, the group was clearly gaining the upper hand against Z. The alien appeared to notice that himself when he recalled a spider robot and absorbed red energy from it. He threated to kill them all, but Arthur begged to differ.
Until he had some fire shot at him. Dammit, why was everyone capable of using fire? And why did they always use it on Arthur!? He would've been far happier with one of those weird marbles Z chucked at Rin. He formed walls of ice to block the fire while trying to approach, but it definitely slowed his progress. Wait, when he was so much stronger and wanted to kill them, why did it seem more like he was retreating?
That's when Arthur noticed that he was actually going for an unconscious Martha. Who was fighting her again? Gen? Damn man, couldn't you have gone a bit easier on her? But Arthur had no time to think about that, he believed he had to get to her side and stop Z from doing whatever he planned on doing to her.
“Everyone, we have to go! Now!" Haruko shouted suddenly. Arthur looked over and saw Goemon struggling against Ikari's new form. Dammit, she was right. If Goemon, who was beginning to prove Gen's praise of him, lost now, it was unlikely everyone would survive even if they ended up taking Ikari down. But then Arthur looked back at the unconscious Martha who couldn't run away. He still wanted to find a way to get to Martha and he would've tried had Yuu not ran in and grabbed her. She seemed to believe Z wanted to save Martha rather than hurt her and Arthur hoped she was right. There was no way she would be able to handle Z on her own if it came down to it.
"Dammit. Fine. Rin, Gen! Take the lead! We need to find your master as soon as possible."

Callis nodded at Cadence plan. -Yes, we should keep our eyes and ears open, if somebody from the Maximum Security Wing is free we might encounter more on our way.- The Beast Knight lowered his eyes while grimacing deep in thought and stroking his chin. -Our best bet is to reach the Research Wing, they might have a way of communicating with the outside, as this is highly irregular, not to mention the involvement of Sakka Jaakuma, who up to my knowledge was never captured.- The Beast Knight started to advance but before he did he moved closer to Akane, whispering. -Are you alright? Do you need to rest?- He was worried about her since they both received attacks back from Quan. -Another of those attacks and I would’ve ended up laying on the ground for a while.- He said, trying to explain his concern, he was trying to be attentive and not looking down on her. Callis walked alongside Akane, as behind them the Quan Bunshin slowly dissolved away.
Rin didn’t doubt for a second upon hearing both Goemon’s plea and Arthur’s request. With the energy ball incoming and time running out for them, the Young Warrior gathered her Ki beneath her heels, creating a small and highly focused sphere that exploded, launching her forward. She was barely scraping the sound barrier, not breaking it, but that would surely give her enough speed to avoid the dangerous annihilation orb. -I’ll run ahead!- She shouted repeating this flash step technique several times in a row. - I know the layout from Gen’s maps!- She shouted from further ahead, the floorboards cracking under each of her bursts of speed. She had an idea of where to go, but she started from a different point she envisioned, so she had to take a very long detour, one that would take her towards the Administrative Branch stairwell, connecting it to the Maximum Security Branch.
Gen wouldn’t take Arthur’s orders and devoted himself to a single idea, beating the ever living crap out of the asshole who attacked his sister. -FUCK YA FROSTY! I’M GOIN’ TO FUCKIN’ BEAT THIS ASSHOLE BACK TO THE FUCKIN’ HOLE HE CRAWLED FROM!- Gen armored forearms parried the sword attacks with perfect Karate blocking moves and as Z was dealing with Arthur and Dan, the Hot-Blooded Brawler stepped up using the Alien Hunter’s knee and attempted to connect a knee strike of his own charged with flaming Gainen Energy, a move is colloquially known as Shining Wizard. -GET SOME!- But Gen was already thinking his next move if he was blocked, he would keep his momentum and use a Pele Kick, twisting his body. And if he was ducked he would drop over Z’s head and get between his legs to pull a Sunset Flip Powerbomb.
Ichigan and Goemon continued their deadlock, as moment by moment Ichigan’s monstruos strength slowly helped him to pry open the Karate Star’s triangle choke. -Master! Please! Come back to your senses!- Goemon struggled to talk as most of his focus was dedicated to keeping the hold on his Sensei. The Karate Star knew this was a losing situation, so he remembered Ichigan’s words of wisdom, years ago, while they trained. “Ya never lose a fight against somebody else, ya only lose the fuckin’ fight if ya fuckin’ give up the fuckin’ fight. And if the other motherfucker loses it means he ain’t winnin’ so ya didn’t fuckin’ lose.” The Karate Star, knowing what he had to do, took a glance towards the wooden railing close-by and took a decision. -Sensei, please hear me out... - He pleaded again, as Ichigan wildly trashed around, weakening Goemon’s grip. -Sensei!- Goemon shouted, this time getting some of the wild Ichigan’s attention. -If you let go... - He uttered looking at the savage man held back by his skills. -I’ll get you a beer!-
The struggling stopped for a second and that moment was enough for Goemon to put all his weight to the side and spin around breaking through the railing and falling down towards the depths of the Maximum Security Prison, taking Ichigan with him. He wanted to say “Fly you fools”, but he didn’t get time to do so, he could only shout -RUN!-

"Don't lie, I've seen you take a lot worse..." - She told Callis as she bumped on his shoulder with her own and gave him a gentle smile, she still remembered Mikurajima as if it were yesterday, the strong back of the warrior that protected her against all odds. Callis had grown even more so since then.
"Thank you...for caring about me" -she said as she quickly kissed him on the cheek.
As they walked towards the research wing, she reflected on just how much he knew her, as she was in fact in terrible condition. Her entire body had been torn to shreds by her Mushin ability, and her throat was not quite fine as well. every step she gave felt like being set on fire. still, she would never drag him down, she was there to support him, not to be a nuisance.
Rin managed to get out of the orbs range, which quickly turned back into a marble and returned to where Z was.
"Take her and leave, If anything happens to her, I will kill you both."- The collector said, sheathing his blade as he braced himself for Gen's attack.
A powerful knee landed on his face, nearly knocking his 1Ton body on the floor. The Gainen armor of Gen was creating a barrier between his skin and the alien that prevented Z from absorbing his energy. It was clear Z had taken quite some damage, but he was not out yet, he charged as Gen had kneed him, taking advantage of his center of gravity being now more stable than his and aimed to smash him against multiple walls, his legs were augmented by the kinetic energy he had absorbed from Arthur's blows and was sure he wouldnt be overpowered until it ran out.
"Your Gainen won't protect you for long, insect."
The moment the collector connected against a wall, he would apply Rin's Ki energy into his limbs, augmenting his strenght to the point he could lift Gen with a single hand and then would proceed to throw a wild overhead blow at his face that would shock the very core of his being. The collector had perhaps absorbed too much energy at this point, but he still needed a new mask, and he had finally found the bones of someone worthy.

The ex-palading sighed at the idea of more enemies. Since the day started he only felt worse, like if something terrible was going to happen in any second. The more he focused on his instincts the more anxious he felt... He wasn't sure why, this was only a mission to demonstrate the building wasn't functioning properly...
As he walked he heard Callis and Akane's conversation, he didn't want to sound rude or that he bumped in their business all of a sudden... but a team should work together - Excuse me... if you're feeling unwell I can cast a spell on you... it wont take too much time - The ex-paladin offered to them, manahing to hide his nervousness the best he could.

“Thanks for the offer, but I heal myself.” The scratches in Stephan’s armor were slowly sealing themselves. They filled in with green, rubbery flesh that hardened to match the rest of the armor afterwards. “Mr. Nomene, is there anybody in this prison that you know? I know walking through the HWIC prisons would be an unpleasant experience for myself. I put many of its denizens there myself.” He kept his eyes on the path, ready for the appearance of any more prisoners.
Dan matched his path to Rin’s as he fled the field of battle. He realized he had no idea where they were going, while Rin knew the layout of this place at least a little. After a moment, he realized he and Rin were the only two there. It would be awkward, but he supposed it was time to clear some things up. “Okay, while I’ve got the chance, can you do me a favor?” He started. “Tell your brother that he’s cool and still owes me a fight, but I’m not into him. I just don’t do guys.” He held his hands up in an apologetic gesture as they approached the stairs. “I know it’s cowardly for me to not tell him directly, but I’m really bad about this stuff.” He would have to ask Caroline for tips about how to handle this sort of stuff. He bet she got all sorts of unwanted suitors. Of course, unlike him, she also got wanted suitors. How unfair.

The battle appeared to be over, and everyone had broken into talking among themselves. Cadence took in what Callis said about Sakka, and the plan he formed. Hm...calling for help might let Marika escape unharmed...I might need to stop them depending on how things play out… The doll thought to herself. She had already begun to analyze what everyone in the party could do, and had devised of a few ways of dealing with each should the need arise.
Glancing at Stephen, Cadence made a mental note of the healing factor that came with that strange suit he wore. “...can I see that…?” The plant doll asked, motioning toward the tablet in his hands. That tablet should not only have a map in it, but also data on these prisoners. If two important documents like those were inside, perhaps she could find some other valuable data inside.
---
Instead of running away, Gen ran back into the chaos. Haruko let out an annoyed groan as she moved toward the hot-blooded boxer when he finished his attacks aimed at Z. “Gen, I’ll say this once. Your sister is running and she wouldn’t appreciate you dying here when you could have saved your master with us. Think about it!” Before leaving, Haruko noticed that Z was about to counterattack and waved her right hand out, summoning a neon pink spear aimed to run right through where Z’s right eye should be.
Turning, Haruko then took off toward Rin and Dan, disappearing in a flash of light for a second and reappearing as her normal form. “Phew...have to let that recharge for a bit…” The seamstress muttered to herself, looking back to see who was following her. In the rush of battle, Haruko had almost forgotten about Goemon’s struggle against Ichigan.

"Dammit, Gen! Haruko's right! If you stick around, you can't blame us if anything happens to Rin or your master." Arthur created an orb of frost and threw it like a curveball at Z's feet before running after Haruko. If it hit and Gen managed to get out of Z's grip, it should allow him to get away safely.
Arthur hoped Gen would end up following them, but he couldn't focus on that right now. Despite what he said, Arthur thought he should stick with Rin because Gen could probably handle himself better. In no time flat, he caught up to Haruko.
"Well, that encounter went well. I hope not everyone here is like Ikari and the big guy..." Both were shockingly strong, and that big guy's had a lot of mean tools on his belt. Unless they can overwhelm them with superior numbers next time, they're not gonna fair well in a rematch. Luckily, Arthur figured they could get Yuu and Martha on their side. Which reminded him, he wanted to know what Yuu and Dan talked about. It was clear they had a chat, but the frost mage was too bus not dying to evesdrop. But before that...
"How're you holding up?" he asked Haruko who'd just spent all her gem power. She was probably even less enthusiastic about another encounter.
