Born in a small Mexican town, Rosenda was never happy with her dull sustenance farming life. Every day was a slog of chores and hard work, only occasionally broken up by the excitement of the full moon, when everybody in town locked themselves away in fear of the howling fiend that walked the streets at night. One of these nights, when she was 16, she saw an opportunity to change things.
A man with a gun hid out in their town, a coyote or a dealer, it didn’t matter if he was neither or both. He didn’t believe the warnings of the villages, allowing her to lure him out at night and steal his gun just outside of the village, using him as bait for the beast that stalked the night. It found them and killed the man. She managed to kill it after a fierce battle where it tore at her and bit her shoulder savagely. The village’s new safety and peace was celebrated and for a time, Rosenda was sated. Then, after the next full moon, Rosenda awoke to find herself naked and coated with blood, in a destroyed village with everybody she knew dead. She left the village forever with smoke in the sky and never looked back.
Her recklessness grew for a time, and she wreaked havoc in human and wolfen forms as she did her best to survive and find an answer to her condition. Her chaotic tendencies landed her the attention of a being from beyond the stars who sought entertainment and with a deal, she gained the control she sought. Brought back from the brink, she found her life of adventure in the BHA. She achieved first a bronze, then a silver rank, and while her skills have declined, she retains the rank of her peak.
The next 30 years brought many challenges and changes. She mastered her powers, conquered a biker gang called the Hellhounds and later stepped aside from their direct management to focus on her BHA career, and began to go blind at 30, opening up a whole new era of learning in her life to deal with her sight loss. Past 60 now, completely blind and with more grandchildren than she can count, she regrets nothing and she’s looking forward to the next 40 years of adventure.
Personality:
First and foremost, Rosenda Ruiz is a thrill seeker. Anything that gets her blood flowing goes, no matter how reckless or destructive. If there’s trouble to be found, she’ll find it. If there’s not, she’ll make some. She claims the only reason she's lived as long as she has is she's just too stubborn to die. She has a soft spot for the young, and is kind to them in a tough love way. She never stays in one place for long, essentially living on her bike as she travels town to town.
Appearance:
The Black Dog is an elderly Mexican woman, with loose black hair beginning to go grey and dark face weathered by a lifetime of sun and wind. She always wears an old, tattered black cowboy hat with a decorated band around it marked in the center with a silver wolf’s skull in place of a helmet. Whether due to this fact or not, she has one large scar running down from her hairline over her left eye. Both her eyes are blind and foggy. As a result, she often wears sunglasses over them.
Her body has a muscular tone, although in her age she’s widened out a little. She commonly wears worn band shirts and a leather jacket over it. Her jacket has a wolf skull with flaming wings and a submachinegun in its jaws, “HELLHOUNDS”, embroidered on the back. Underneath, she’s riddled with tattoos and scars, most prominent being a massive bite mark on her shoulder.
Powers:
Lycanthrope senses- Rosenda has enhanced senses of smell and hearing in her human form and these only grow greater in her lycan form.
Marksman- Even without sight, Rosenda can aim by sound, even through walls. This gives her uncanny accuracy, especially where others can’t make shots because of poor visibility.
Feral form- Rosenda has had her lycanthrope form long enough that she can control it. This greatly increases her speed and strength along with the mentioned senses.
Lycanthrope regeneration- Rosenda heals quicker than a human. This doesn’t have much use in combat, but she can recover afterwards for the next mission swiftly.
Gear:
Spy Bat™ hearing aids- Rosenda’s hearing is just fine. In fact, it’s better than fine, being superior to any mundane human’s. But it’s the Spy Bat hearing aids that make it useful in combat. A bullet moves faster than sound, meaning that the sound should reach her after the bullet has already struck. However, the spy bat makes sound move faster to her ears. Rosenda can basically hear at the speed others can see, meaning when she’s shot at, she can hear the shot and dodge before the bullet strikes.
Duckfoot shotgun- For when you don’t want to aim. A shotgun with barrels added onto the sides that simultaneously fire. Essentially fires in a huge cone outwards from her location. It is based on a strange antique weapon she once bought in an auction. With enough recoil to send her flying, Rosenda can even use this weapon to pull off a "double jump", pushing herself any direction she pleases midair.
Machrhino320- Ki isn’t just for fancy martial artists anymore! The Machrhino acts like a laser weapon, except instead of concentrated light, it fires off a beam of ki, like a Kamehameha in gun form. Limited ammo, due to Rosenda needing to buy ki capsules off of those who know how to produce and store it, something she is incapable of herself, but the shots she does have count, blowing down even solid walls with sheer force, although its secondary bonus may be even better. It leaves residual ki marks all over the place, making it difficult for the ki sensitive to track her. This is Rosenda's newest weapon, commissioned specially by her just a few years ago.
Careless Whisper- The Careless Whisper is a modified AMT Hardballer, pitch black with fancy silver markings, that fires completely silently. Rosenda took the weapon from a man who nearly managed to kill her with it due to her not being able to hear it. It is one of the earliest weapons in her arsenal, obtained in 1978.
Krakatoa 125- With a handle like a pistol with a large bomb slapped on the end, the Krakatoa is a clumsy weapon to aim, but when used it packs the largest punch in her whole arsenal. The bomb packs enough force to drop mid sized buildings, and Rosenda once used it to drop the entire wing of a mansion on top of her target, saving herself the trouble of actually getting in. However, the ammo costs her a hefty sum and she usually only carries one of the bulky bombs around with her. It’s not a weapon she uses lightly.
T80 Magebane- An SMG that casts an odd effect over the bullets that pass through its muzzle. They nullify magic as the strike, making them perfect for killing naturally magical creatures or human magic users. They do not remove the ability of those struck to use magic, but they will ignore magical defenses. Rosenda’s own magical tools will cease working for five minutes after its use.
Ammo- Applies to the Careless Whisper and Duckfoot shotgun, although of course it’s fragmentation rounds in the shotgun and bullets for the pistol.
- Normal rounds- Standard rounds, slightly enhanced for use on HW targets but otherwise normal. These are her most numerous rounds, her others being more expensive.
- Silver- Rosenda cannot handle silver with her bare hands, but it’s useful enough against a variety of targets that she still carries rounds. Silver makes a poor bullet and is inaccurate at long ranges.
- Targeting shots- Once these bullets strike a target, other weapons shot by Rosenda will be drawn to that spot.
- Explosive rounds- Packed with magical explosives, these rounds erupt with the force of a small hand grenade, seriously harmful to most beings.
Motorcycle- Rosenda drives an Indian 841 motorcycle, heavily modified from the original 1940s version, although on the outside it’s practically identical. It is painted black with the “US Army” logo replaced with her Hellhounds banner. Multiple boxes and bags hold food, water, ammo and her weapons. The motorcycle itself is upgraded to the point it pushes the sound barrier at max speed, climb walls, be remotely commanded, and take hits from Hidden World fighters. It also has a variety of weapons built in, only revealed when Rosenda wishes to use them.
Weaknesses:- Harpoon gun- A frontal cannon that fires a massive harpoon. Rosenda's preferred weapon for large targets, such as vehicles, to stay on them. The harpoon is tipped with a head stolen from an ancient enchanted spear, and once inside a target will grow extra barbs, causing more damage and lodging itself firmly in the target. It can only fire directly ahead of the motorcycle.
- Matador Cannon- A small military-grade cannon on the front of Rosenda's bike. The most standard of her bike's weapons, merely fires powerful rounds at a high rate. Rosenda can shred the average car in seconds, and even threaten armored vehicles. This is the gun that put Rosenda on the bad sides of several South American militaries in the 80s.
- Eaglehunter- A small missile rack that raises from the back of the motorcycle. These missiles allow the motorcycle to attack targets above its usual attack range (without popping a wheelie anyway, something Rosenda is inclined to do). These missiles can knock an Apache helicopter from the air with a good shot.
- Minecaster- Rosenda's only weapon for defending from the back, the minecaster does exactly what its name suggests. It spits small, disk-shaped mines onto the road behind the bike, where they dig in with tiny claws. Rosenda can detonate or defuse the mines remotely. These mines have enough power to easily blow out the tires of any commercial vehicle.
Blind- Even with powers backing up her senses, there are still advantages to having vision that she can’t quite make up for.
Age- With age comes experience but also a slowing of reflexes and lower stamina. Rosenda is past her prime physically, and it can show in extended fights.
Silver- Rosenda may use silver as a weapon material, but it is toxic to her, searing her flesh wherever it touches. Silver weapons tear through her like paper and slow her healing.
