History:
The tiny Eastern European nation of Ustovic isn’t a well known one. It’s so obscure that it is impossible to even notice or enter by normal means. Those heading towards it go around automatically, and it does not show up on satellite images. These precautions were deployed in 1952, when the new communist government deployed robot warriors of unknown origins to hold onto their rule.
The country was blocked off by magic means to avoid the spread of the mechanical warriors. The situation only escalated over time as the robots became more numerous and advanced, getting into the hands of the contra forces as well as the government’s. It is here that Ludomir Malvus was born, in the capital of the regime. He grew up in a family of doctors, all working to heal the constant influx of wounded. Ludomir helped with this, but one day, his focus expanded further. He came across a robot, shot down just outside of the city. Unable to help a robot, he could only talk to it as it faded over the days. He swore then he would learn to heal all beings, not just humans.
He left his home city and country to travel and find the skills he would need. He managed to escape when the robots recognized his kindness to one of their own and let him pass without harm. He spent decades travelling among many species and across many countries. In addition to obtaining legitimate medical degrees in both mundane and magical subfields, he gained practical experience in many dangerous regions lacking healthcare.
Personality:
Ludomir will help anybody in need of medical care, even his enemies. He is an all around master of the field, capable of providing at least basic care for over 100 species. Still, while he may not kill those he fights and will even care for them, he will not hesitate to fight those who harm the innocent, with whom he has extensive experience. His grudges are long lived as he never forgets a misdeed, and his patience quickly declines with disrespect and mistakes. His vast knowledge may die with him, as he has never managed to hang on to an apprentice for long.
Appearance:
Originally blonde, Ludomir has long gone grey and thin, although his mustache survives on his upper lip and his eyes are as green as ever, including his right eye, which is in fact cybernetic. He often wears a broad white hat to protect his light skin from the sun. Even in warm weather, he tends towards totally covering clothing to hide his mechanical limbs and torso, almost entirely machinery, each part replaced as disease made it fail. His rebuilt body is of average build, drawing little attention.
Beneath the neck, he is entirely mechanical. His limbs are effectively skeletal in structure, but covered in black foam tubes except for the joints. His pointer fingers have open endings like nozzles to exude plasma, the same function as the larger openings on his palms. His legs are faked into human shape by detachable parts, but when he needs to move, most of the foot detaches and allows him to use the more efficient spring based feet beneath.
His torso is made to emulate all that a human needs to stand upright. As a result, it is composed of a multitude of sections, all with small squares of steel to defend them. They continually tweak and move to adjust posture, keeping him standing. Some are rusted, others fully intact. They can separate to allow him to work on his own innards. In his right shoulder is set the tiny numb ray, a small barrel sticking from a square block. His oxygen mask is hooked to his hip, the oxygen and anesthetic tubes set a little higher in his side.
Powers and Abilities:
Master physician- Ludomir has extensive knowledge of how to care for most of the major lifeforms on the world, including several robotic ones. This inhuman amount of knowledge is recorded in computer systems within his brain.
Hard as steel- Ludomir’s body is physically superior to an Olympic athlete's, as all limbs and most of his torso have been replaced with robotics. The largest advantage is his vastly improved stamina, seemingly endless with no lactic acid to build up.
Great listener- Enhanced ears can pick up on irregular breathing and other fine noises.
Peeping eye- Ludomir's right eye is mechanical, and can see in x-rays, allowing him to see bone breaks and other injuries.
Plasma caster- Ludomir can create cold plasma from his pointer fingers, useless as a weapon but useful for sterilizing wounds and food, and even killing cancer cells. However, with an extra charge, his palms can blast thermal plasma with more than enough heat to melt steel.
Oxygen mask- Attached to Ludomir’s own oxygen tanks. Can be used by himself or others. Anasthetics can be mixed in as well.
Smart scalpel- Reads blood pressure, brain activity, and other factors while in use.
Numb ray- Small barreled gun in Malvus' shoulder. Fires beams that numb flesh where they hit. Used for surgery and denying use of limbs.
Weaknesses:
Spare parts- Malvus designed his body to be easily repaired, not for battle. As such, his individual parts are somewhat breakable, even as superior to regular humans as they are.
