DK Coliseum Rules
1. No ring out 2. Fight until one fighter is K.O. or surrenders 3. Any damage to the contenders or the battlefield will dissapear once the combat ends
An empty coliseum, a gigantic structure with a flat circular surface in the middle, flanked by tall wooden walls before reaching the seats that climbed up the stone steps like a forest of wood planks. Empty. Rin Shishioh looked around a bit puzzled, but in her mind things were clear she knew what she had to do, and that was defeating the enemy in front of her. She unsheathed her sword and prepared to fight, taking a very orthodox offensive stance (Her blade’s handle up to her head’s height), as the slow rumbling of her Ki surging from a faint light blue aura sparkled around her, like small lightings arching in and out of her clothing and sword. –Come forth!- She exclaimed, psyching herself up more than taunting her yet to be uncovered enemy.

-I'm here!
Victor Gratti appeared mounting on Tigerbot. Without slowing down, Tigerbot reformed with a ¡FLASH! as an armor around Victor's body, who just kept running. He stopped quite a distance away from Rin, ready to battle but cursing under his breath. He wished he had better ranged attacks prepared.
Well, talking was something he COULD do at a distance.
-Hey girl! -Victor yelled. -Who are you? You sure you're ready for this?

Rin didn’t doubt. She couldn’t afford to. Doubting was something that got her and her brother in trouble. It was something she didn’t want to suffer again. Thus she charged forward, ignoring the newcomer’s question. As she strode towards Victor she shifted the weapon on her hand through a mental command from a sword to a naginata and stopped her charge further from Victor, thanks to the added range of her weapon. She attacked using her weapon in a powerful downward swing, just barely over the peak of human reaction and speed. The curved blade sparkled with small Ki lighting, the charge wasn’t great, just a “love tap” enough to shatter a large boulder on contact. It was a bad idea to receive such attack.

Well, at least she was no longer out of range...
Victor seriously hoped his tiger-enhanced agility was above the peak of human reaction and speed. He ducked and rolled to the side, wondering if he could keep on rolling to get closer to her.

The enemy seemed to be faster and more agile than the common man, surely thanks to that strange suit of armor he was wearing. As her weapon touched the ground, causing a small cloud of dust upon impact, Rin glanced at her opponent trying to get a read on his Ki. To her surprise, something she managed to easily overcome, he lacked any Ki, or at least any awakened energy inside him. As the dust started to set down she used her signature “Mounsanpo”, to move away from Victor in a swift manner, as he seemed ready to move out, she could read it on his face.
Rin changed her weapon once again to a sword and took a defensive stance, with the blade handle at the same height as her diaphragm and the blade slightly inclined forward. She was ready for him.

So. Her lance-thing could turn into a sword. Dangerous, but something told Victor she couldn't turn it into a pistol or a missile launcher. She seemed more traditionally magical.
Let's get magical, then, Victor thought. Let's go full totem.
Victor took a stance on four legs, trying to look like a tiger, and surreptitiously took a fistful of sand from the ground. Then he leaped at her - straight at her, knowing full well she would strike him, but not before he could throw the sand at her eyes - he hoped.
In any case, what good are armors for if not for taking a hit?

Rin didn’t expect a four legged stance from Victor and she really didn’t expect his foul play. As the Armored Youth charged towards her, the Novice Warrior took the chance for a counter. –MEN!- She shouted, using a kendo exclamation to indicate a hit towards the head or shoulders. She threw her weight and power behind the attack, aiming right at Victor’s shoulder, right besides the neck with enough strength to slash a brick wall in half. Hopefully the attack managed to connect into one of the armor junctures. Yet Victor’s cheap shot was successful, as Rin only focused on her counter, ignoring the Armored Youth’s own.
Sand hit her right in the eyes, effectively blinding her. The Novice Warrior moved her left hand towards her face by instinct, but she managed to contain it and used it for support in a handstand-front flip she used to gain distance blindly from Victor while keeping her guard up, trying to guide her next move with her other senses… Including Ki sensing.

With the armor's protection Victor couldn't feel pain, not really, but the world seemed to spin around him and he felt like he was half submerged in the sand. Great plan, huh? His shoulder pad was almost divided in two. If he kept it like this, Tigerbot would have to detach itself from him to regenerate. He would be a boy with nothing but martial arts and --
But of course! The staff!!
WHY DID HE ENGAGE SUCH A DANGEROUS GAMBIT INSTEAD OF FIGHTING WITH HIS STAFF? Victor cursed his stupidity as he made the staff materialize. Time to make it count!
While still on the ground, he swung low, confident that he would sweep Rin off her feet.

Rin tried to follow her opponent movements through sensing his Ki, but the lack of an awakened Ki in Victor, and expertise on this skill from her part, made it impossible. As a relatively newcomer to the Hidden World she was still a bit dazzled by her newfound abilities and tended to rely on them more than she should. This proved to be her undoing in this situation, as Victor’s sweep connected cleanly with her legs, making the Novice Warrior lose her balance. Yet this wasn’t Rin’s first rodeo.
As she fell she could feel the ground getting closer and mustering all her concentration she changed her sword back to Naginata, piercing the ground under her, using the weapon as a pivot to avoid getting knocked down. She redirected her fall into a horizontal trajectory, swinging both legs from right to left in a massive arc trying to blindly connect Victor as she kicked in the general direction of the Armored Youth.

-OOOF! This time Victor did feel pain, as he was kicked on his head while he was trying to stand up. He got knocked down to he ground again, and he let go of his staff involuntarily.
How the hell did she do that?!
Well, she did have to use both arms and legs, so maybe there was still something to be done before she fully recovered. Victor charged right into her, in a single jump dived into her like an Olympic swimmer. In his mind, at least; he actually looked more like a kindergarten toddler grabbing her friend by the hair. But a super-powered one, so, still good.

Super-powers are all nice and good, but without proper instruction even the strongest man might not be able to properly utilize his power. Rin had a lot of training through the years, mostly in Japanese martial arts and weapon styles, her sole act of rebellion against her parents’ way, who tried to look so occidental and were so ashamed of being from Japan. Having a combination of Masayoshi’s smarts and Gen’s brawn she learnt techniques quite easy. Karate, Aikido and currently the most important, Judo. If Victor had some experience he would have kept his distance from a blinded opponent, but the rush of the Armored Youth worked against him.
He managed to wound Rin with the claws of the armor, but the moment he was in an extreme close combat range the youngest Shishioh took advantage of his charging motion, falling to the ground with her spear perpendicular to Victor in-between them. She followed the movement of her opponent rolling on the ground and placing her two soles on his chest, pushing with all her might as she accompanied the push with the shaft of her spear, aiming to send Victor flying away to get enough time to properly clean her eyes.

Victor couldn't-- he couldn't breathe.
He catched a glimmer of the sun behind a cloud.
Aaand we're back. The air filled Victor's lungs as if it were the first time. Had to-- he had to do something.
-C-cloak -he muttered.
Camouflage waves traveled his body. The armor disguised him from most forms of perception, including sight and sound.
Not that he was that visible at all on the first place. He was still lying on the sand a pretty good distance away from Rin. Now he looked like sand-- but she could still find him, if she cared to look at the hole he made on the sand when he landed.
If she did look for him-- Victor rolled out of the ditch, slow, hurt, and lay a bit to the side of it. He wasn't good to get up yet-- but she may come looking for him. Perhaps she'd realize he was invisible and half-conscious, but he wouldn't be where he was supposed to...

Rin stood up with the same movement as her throw and without stopping for a second turned around towards the direction she threw Victor. The Youngest Shishioh cleaned her eyes with her sleeve, her vision was still a bit fuzzy, but it was good enough to see around and notice that the Armored Youth wasn’t anywhere. She shifted her weapon from Naginata to Katana and took a defensive stance, while taking small steps backs using “Mounsanpo” to move without unnecessary motion.
–Where are you?- She whispered to herself as her eyes glanced the surrounding area looking for some kind of tell. She could feel Victor’s Ki, but as it wasn’t awakened she couldn’t properly pinpoint the location.

...So she didn't come looking for him?
This had to be Victor's lucky day. He just lay on the sand, stretched his limbs, and rested.
A bit later he stood up. So she had a katana. He had a weapon, too.
It was really close to the girl's feet.
Change of tactics. He took a bit more sand from the ground, just in case. Then he moved forward, slowly but steadily. Once he was close enough, but out of her range, he called her out.
-Hey samurai girl! How can you cut what you cannot see?
Was it a good taunt? He then moved to the side and waited.

-Being invisible isn’t the same as intangible you armored idiot! - Even if she couldn’t sense her Ki she could clearly hear him talk, not to mention that the dust covered ground didn’t allow perfect cover to his movements. As soon as she noticed the general location of Victor she also noticed, thanks to her Ki-Enhanced senses the dust being lifted by his steps, even as soundless as they were they still had mass.
Her weapon shifted once again into a large Kyuudo bow, and using her Ki she created physical projectiles of blue energy that waved like cloth under water. She created 4 arrows and launched them in the general direction of the small dust clouds, readying a 5th arrow if everything else failed to shoot as soon as she saw the dust clouds.

MAGIC ARROWS? Victor had a few scenarios in his head, but MAGIC ARROWS? So much for being "out of her range". Victor DID duck; perhaps "fell to the ground really surprised" would be more accurate, and got a grip on his staff. Finally, a plan that worked! Calling her out and dodging, in order to get his weapon back.
Only that he had made a pretty big cloud of sand in the process, and he was crouched just right next to her... Staff in both hands, yes, but it didn't seem like such a big advantage now, did it?

Rin noticed the staff suddenly vanishing from view, as she also notice the dust cloud. –Got you now!- She proclaimed as she rushed towards him, inviting the Armored Youth, who clearly was out of his depth in terms of skill, to attack her. This was only a ruse, as moments before reaching the range of his staff the Youngest Shishioh planned to vault over Victor and shoot at him from above, while executing a perfect pirouette, shooting two arrows while moving through the air.

OOC: Kuma maybe I got something wrong, but Rin is already close to Victor at the end of my turn. He had dropped the staff at her feet before. (Or did I get confused?) Anyway, at the end of my turn he's crouching right beside her, pretty defenseless if you ask me. You can do the whole jump + arrows things right there if you want. I'm just telling you because she can't "get" in Victor's range, she already is. Maybe it's simpler if I say it like this: He got inside HER range to get his staff, relying on his invisibility, and didn't really think it through.

OOC: Right! Forgot to post, so sorry. OC:
The staff - vanished! This was SO COOL, Victor hadn't used his weapon while invisible before. This made SO MUCH SENSE. It would perhaps be a bit hard to swing without actually seeing the staff, but Victor felt pretty invincible right now.
And then Rin rained fire over him.
The thing about ki energy? Blue, arrow shaped ki energy? It doesn't exactly *burn*, not really, but it hit every nerve of Victor's body like a million ants, like sitting on your own hand for too long. The armor did nothing for him and he fell to the ground not really knowing how to move.
He was still invisible tohugh, and holding the staff, so... a success for his plan?

Rin landed with a roll and stood up in a single fluid motion, turning around to the general location she thought her opponent was without hesitation. She readied her bow, aiming in the last direction she shot ready to let go of the string the second she saw movement. The arrows were the least harmful weapon on her arsenal, but keeping a distance against an anemy she couldn't see was as viable as a plan as anything else. It was risky, but maybe, if she was lucky, any of her arrows would, sooner or later, damage whatever was giving the Armored Youth cloaking, or at least damage the armor. Part of the disadvantages of using such hardware instead of training like Rin did was the power that came from machines could die out if damaged.
-Come on! Show yourself!- She taunted while she slowly paced backwards, keeping her bow ready to shoot, with a blue arrow on the string, waving like fire.
