BIO PART 1: BACKSTORY AND PERSONALITY
Victor is 13 years old. He used to enjoy feeling smarter than his peers, making jokes all the time and feeling he had everything under control. Then last year, he accidentally found his father cheating on his mother. His parents divorced and his father moved in with his new girlfriend. Victor failed the school year due to the stress. Without him, his two best friends, Alan and Giselle, became closer and started dating. Victor had always been in love with her but never said anything to either.
Victor has quite a personal kind of sensitivity to injustice. He also needs to be right all the time. Overwhelmed by it all, he rode his bicycle to the outskirts of the city, where he'd never been. He crossed under a highway, passed some wastelands, and arrived at a small course of water. The city had been in the process of piping it up for years. He could see trash floating along industrial waste.
He tried to meditate, to just contemplate the waters, but he burst into coughing. The air was really polluted! Then he tried to get back onto his bicycle, but it slipped away from him and fell to the waters. He was looking around for a tree branch to rake it out with when he found the metal paw.
It was big, robotic and cat-like. It was halfway buried on the shore. When Victor touched it, it started vibrating. Soon a whole feline robot unearthed itself. He had never seen a robot shaped like an animal: it looked like a tiger made out of metal. He asked the robot its name, but it just lit up its eyes and motioned him to ride it. On the way home, he decided to name it Tigerbot. Victor likes lame names.
When they arrived home, Tigerbot climbed the outer wall and entered Victor's bedroom through the window. Victor spent most of the night on the Web, in search of Tigerbot's origins. Nothing came up. The robot itself had no markings, no obvious interface to connect it to the computer, and no visible power source.
Victor kept Tigerbot's existence a secret and enjoyed exploration trips with his new friend. Most nights Tigerbot entered a sleep-like 'suspended' state under Victor's bed, but once in a while it would leave on its own and come back the following day.
BIO PART 2: POWERS AND PRESENT DAY
One night, Victor and Tigerbot were exploring the residential neighborhood. A mansion burst into fire. Victor commanded Tigerbot past the fences and into the fire to help. Suddenly Tigerbot dismembered itself with a flash and reformed around Victor's body, as a robotic armor. Without much thought Victor entered the house and started getting people out.
Victor couldn't believe it: While in the armor, he was shielded from heat and breathed pure air through the smoke effortlessly. All his senses were enhanced, especially smell and taste. He could see in the darkness, and everything he saw had a digital overlay, like the androids' sight on the Terminator movies. He could lift heavy weights, move faster, jump higher and react faster to danger.
The armor also appeared to sustain damage in place of himself, though with visible cracks on its surface. (Later that day, once Tigerbot had reformed, Victor saw it licking its wounds, slowly repairing its metal body. Victor also found out he was now proficient in hand-to-hand combat, with or without the armor.)
He could also blend into the surroundings and make no sounds if he wanted to. When in need of a tool to remove some rubble, a WEAPON appeared in his hands: A two-handed golden staff that could detach itself into two smaller one-handed staffs. Victor thought they looked a bit like oversized maracas but packed a good punch nevertheless.
He saved everyone and went back to his house anonimously. Nowadays, Victor wants to use his newfound powers towards some higher purpose. He does dislike violence... Wait, no, let's be honest. He FEARS violence, but at the same time he loves CONFLICT and ARGUING. (He's a bit of a drama queen.) He'd love to travel the world and can't wait to see where his adventures will take him next.
But what will he find out about "Tigerbot's" true origins?...
AUTHOR'S NOTES: I deliberately left open Tigerbot's origin and true nature. I'm new to the forums, so I had two concerns: 1) Maybe controlling both the kid AND the robot is against the rules? Do they count as two characters? I thought this way the GM could treat the robot as an NPC if he wanted. 2) I'm not familiar with the ViceVerse canon, so I wanted the robot to fit easily into the rest of the plot. Is the feline robot actually a living gargoyle from a secret cabal of vampires, or a government's cibernetic experiment gone bad? I don't know, and neither does Victor. I thought it would be fun to maybe find out through play. But if I was mistaken, do tell and I'll fill in the blanks!
EDIT: Thanks a lot for the feedback! I've been told to freely complete Tigerbot's background, simply imagining what Victor's own series would be like. So I'll add a bit more to the story!

BIO PART 3: TIGERBOT AND THE EARTHKEEPERS
Trying to avoid crime, Victor spent the following months saving people from accidents. This path, however, still led him to having to fight another human being, in the form of Marco the Arsonist, a mad man with flamethrowers and heat-proof armor who was bent on burning down the city. Victor actually had to be saved from his last battle with Marco, by another boy in a misterious blue armor, who put out Marco's fires and froze Marco in place. The boy introduced himself as Nick Olson, the Dragonkeeper, and explained he had rain powers. Apparently there was a whole group of kids called the Earthkeepers, six boys and six girls, all with robot animal armors and powers derived from the Chinese Zodiac. They were tracking each other, led by a misterious spirit called Jade.
Nick took Victor to the Earthkeepers headquarters, a secret high-tech base behind a great waterfall in a mountain in Brazil. Victor learned that all the Earthkeepers had found their robots by chance in a fashion similar to his, and around the same time. He had been the last one to arrive. Now that all twelve were present, Jade revealed herself as an alien from an ancient planet, who had been protecting the Earth for centuries and influencing Earth's culture. Jade explained that she had materialized the robots throughout the world for the kids to find. They had been chosen to embody the link between humans and other species on this planet, to save other species from Humanity and Humanity from itself.
Victor spent a good part of a year fighting alongside the Earthkeepers against various threats. (Like a memory demon who wanted to erase all knowledge of a cure for a decease, so he could gain great wealth and power by marketing a more expensive, less effective treatment. Or a god from an ice moon of another planet, who wanted to poison the oceans, in order to precipitate a water crisis and become Earth's main source of water.) But Victor had a hard time getting along with his teammates, making jokes at inappropiate times and sometimes hurting their feelings. Eventually nobody spoke to him, and Victor quit the group and left. To everyone's surprise, himself included, Tigerbot decided to follow him, instead of staying to find a new Tigerkeeper. Nowadays, they're both on Victor's hometown, trying to help the world on their own.
