Siberia. Eve walked north in a gorgeous forest, foot compressing the boggy soil with each step. Birds chattered, sun lit the forest floor in patterns like stained glass, and Eve's powerful eyes could spot small creatures scurrying in the shadows. She hated it. Under her usual coat was another coat, this one navy blue and much thicker, as well as actually buttoned. Her Superman scarf clad her neck, leaving only her face uncovered. Even that was changed, with extra fat added like the rest of her body to grant her some insulation and her hair woolly and thick. It was everything she had done for Canada, and she was still fucking freezing. She shuddered and sat on a rock, then yelped and jumped up. Dammit, she didn't have any real pants! She muttered as she started gathering sticks so she could have a fire while she waited for Huntsman. He better not be goofing off! ___ Not far south from the forest was a tiny little town. It didn't consist of much more than a convenience store/gas station and a few places to eat. In the only one of these restaurants to offer alcohol was a small woman devouring a pile of fries like she hadn't seen food in weeks. Two plates she already finished off lay to her sides. She couldn't normally indulge like this, but her boss was coming and he could buy the restaurant if he wanted. And so she shoved another fistful of fries into her wide mouth and smiled. ___ A figure walked slowly besides an empty road a few miles to the west of the town. Their entire body was covered in a huge red coat and snow pants, making them stand out like blood against the pale green grass of the tundra. He grumbled and rolled his neck. Fuck Siberia. Fuck this avatar for making him come to Siberia. A tentacle flashed out from the hood and punched a hole in a bird flying overhead. A tiny, beating heart was pulled back and the bird fell. The deed made him feel slightly better. He cackled as he walked along the road. He couldn't wait to do that to every man, woman, and child in this little cult. ___ The avatar sat not far north, wearing armor made more for show than protection. He bit into a fruit that had never grown on earth before, not minding the taste. It wasn't made for human consumption, but at this point he didn't think that mattered to him. He was enjoying the solitude when a woman, clad only in the green fur coming from her body, dropped from seemingly nowhere. "There you are, my lord! Have you seen Mona?" Dan made a deep, rumbling sigh. "No, I have not seen Mona. What did she do this time?" Last time he had seen the nuisance, she was doodling on his letters. He should have made her bear another two litters. That would get her out of the way. A slight twinge of guilt at wanting to do that to her went ignored. "She stole my backup gem. I still have the big one, but that was important. Can you send somebody to find her?" The woman gave him pleading eyes and rubbed against him. He sighed. "I was about to send out some teams anyway, so I'll tell them to keep an eye out. We have guests approaching."
She gave him an admiring look. "I can't even sense them yet. Your territory is growing." The avatar pushed her away. "Go get ready. I'm sending you to handle a few as well." She smiled. "Alright. While I'm out, can you check on Betsey? She just gave birth to her second litter, so you can complete her ascension today!" Dan shrugged. "I'll look into it." She hugged him and kissed his cheek. "I will be back soon, my lord. And... have them look for our son too. Please, my lord." She bounded away like an excited kitten, great reddish purple spikes of hair bouncing. Dan hopped to his feet to walk back to the colony. It would be disappointing if the intruders never made it to him, but he had to deal with it this way. It was the only way.

“A-a-a-atchu!” Arlana’s sneeze echoed through the forest as she strolled through a small deer trail that crossed the woods. Being a girl born in a rich family who had never walked more than a few miles away from her childhood house and with close to none adequate education, Arlana wasn’t the smartest duck in the pond. When she asked (not without some trouble) for directions from a hairy lumberjack who spoked a bit of English and tried following the road to a nearby town, it was almost inevitable for her to get lost in the woods. And of course, she’d never expect Siberia to be that cold. “For the Major Arcana, woman! Why the hell did you come here like that?” The nineteenth Tarot Card of the Major Arcana, Sun, was flying indolently behind her. The flaming bird wasn’t bothered about the ice cold temperatures of northern Russia, obviously. But just watching his young companion shiver and blowing her nose was enough to make him feel the chill. “I d-d-didn’t k-k-know it was thi-this cold” Arlana was clenching her teeth to stop them from chattering. The red haired Irish girl was severely under clothed for the extreme weather. With just her usual jeans, a couple of worn out boots the lumberjack have her before and a thin blue jacket, Arlana felt the freezing wind getting inside her clothes for every place it could find. Advancing with effort through the unpleasant mix of snow and mud that was the ground of the forest, Arlana felt extremely wretched. Sun wasn’t feeling any pity towards her “master”. Slowly, the blazing sparrow let Arlana walked in front of him and murmured. “Is really this girl ready to walk this path?” however, this wasn’t just an empty question. He paused for a bit with a blank stare as if he was hearing a distant conversation. “Really? She even got me as her first card and that stupid jester. That never happened before”. After one more pause, Sun sighed “Fine dammit, I’ll keep guiding her”. As he flew closer, Sun could see Arlana with her lips turning blue, trying to clean her runny nose with little success. “Hey, dumbass!” he called as he soared around her head. Arlana was so cold she didn’t even felt like answering to his friend’s insults “W-what?” she grunted, rubbing her arms to fight the cold. “What kind of Tarot user are you?” she stared at him without understanding what he was saying. With a sigh of pure frustration the bird dived and hit Arlana on the head, flying to a safe height after it. “Weren’t you listening when I explained you about the powers of the Minor Arcana? They can control elements, idiot! And the suit of wands can control…?” Arlana, who had been rubbing her head trying to put out the small spot where Sun landed and left some locks of her hair burning, suddenly stopped as she realized what the bird was saying. “Oh right! Fire!” she snapped and went for the deck on her pocket. With trembling hands she went through the cards until she found the Ace of Wands. She hesitated for a bit and quickly looked both sides trying to see someone near. “Come on! We don’t have all day” Sun blurted. Arlana took a deep breathe “Ok, here goes nothing. Just as I practiced” and then she chanted “Creativity of the peasantry will of fire! Come, Ace of Wands!” Slowly, the air in front of the girl started to shine and seemed as if it was moving. As the light became brighter, Arlana put her hand directly into it and pulled a long wooden staff out of the incandescent air. The staff had that old brownish color that all wood have and was almost comically similar to those magic staff from fantasy books. The tarot apprentice was delighted and let out a triumphant laugh. She felt so good she wanted to do a celebration dance but her sense of decency prevailed. It was her first time summoning one of the cards in an actual card-hunt and she was extremely excited and for the first time in a long time, confident on herself. It was kind of dumb, but it made her feel powerful. When she hit the rear end of the staff against the ground, a small but deliciously flame popped from the point of the wood and Arlana enjoyed the heat with delight. “Finally!” Sun grunted as he flew through the woods “Come on, fatass! We don’t have all day to find that card” Arlana was so happy she didn’t even respond to Sun’s teases and instead gave him a beautiful and wide smile. The bird looked kind of confused by Arlana’s strange reaction and shrugged. “Let’s go, Sun! Lead the way” she said, pointing forward with her staff. “Hey, idiot… it’s the other way”
A while later, Arlana and Sun reached the outskirts of a small town. It was just a bunch of houses, a few restaurants and a battered gas station. It wasn’t much, but for a tired Arlana it looked as incredible as a magic kingdom. Before getting close, Arlana looked at the staff. “I guess people would think this is kind of weird” she thought and, not without some regrets decided to put the staff away. “Thanks, Wandy! You saved me” she said happily using a nickname she improvised in the spot and made the Ace of Wands disappeared. The physical card also vanished. Arlana would need to get a new card from another deck to use it again.
Sun glared at Arlana with distrust. “That’s stupid” he stated and he almost sounded disgusted “Why would you name that thing? It’s just an empty tool”. Arlana looked extremely offended “What? I they helped me it’s just natural I thanked them for it” she said, with a tone that left no room for discussion. Sun shook his head and shrugged. “Fine, whatever. I’ll be in your pocket.”
The girl walked through the town and started to tremble again. Now that the Ace of Wands was gone, the chill was crawling through her skin. "Bitchnuggets, it's cold" she whispered Trying to get away from the cold, Arlana went inside the first place was open. It was a small and not very clean restaurant. The place wasn’t too busy so Arlana sat in a table near the exit, ordered a burger and tried to banish the cold from her hands. On the other side of the room, a woman was sitting alone; eating like if there was no tomorrow. Arlana watched the woman as she waited for her meal. It was definitely a weird sight in that small town in the middle of nowhere: Blonde and messy hair, heart shaped eyepatch and bright pink coat. “I wish I could eat like that and be that slim” she thought bitterly, staring with both hunger and disgust at the burger the waitress had on her hands as she walked towards Arlana.

"Here is your drink." said the friendly flight attendant with a few undone buttons. "Is there anything else I can possible do for you, please let me know." she said in a flirtatious manner with a small wink as she proceeds to go to a different section of the private jet. Before she slips through the sliding doors, she offers the blond hair man another smile before disappearing behind the closing doors. The man holds his glass containing whiskey and a few perfectly square ice cubes for a moment before taking a small sip. He slowly swallows the strong liquid down his throat.
"I'm surprised. I figure you would down a few bottles by now, rather than ask for a single glass each time like this." said the man sitting across from him. He looks at his traveling companion and offers him a quick answer, "This isn't cheap, so I don't want to rush."The atmosphere around these two men would seem off to an average observer. It was clear that they knew each other, but deep down between the two men, there seem to be an awkward tension. The owner of the private jet glances out of his side window and studies the passing clouds as he ponders to himself in silence. Eventually, the silence is broken by the passenger with an empty glass in his hand asking, "If there is something you want to say or ask, go ahead."
The man looks a bit concern and asks,"How are you do-" "-I'm fine." he responds quickly. For a while now, he has been suffering from hellish nightmares, but recently his nightmares have gotten much worse. They could probably even scare Freddy Krueger himself at this point. Yet, so far today he has not experience any hallucinations, or had aggressive mood swings. Yet, even when his companion has seen all the signs that today was going to be one of his "better" days, he couldn't help shake off this horrible feeling. It is actually this strong sense of worry, that prompt him to arrange this assignment the way he did.
Taking a moment to let the other guy relax a bit, he asks again, "How are you doing?" The man this time did not cut him off and instead looks down at his right arm. He studies a particular spot on his forearm and takes a few deep breaths. His face gradually begins to reveal his anger, yet also a small portion of his fear as well. An image begins to appear on the surface of his glass of a smokey red and black figure with a humanoid shape, yet lacking in any clear characteristics. Before long, the chaotic image begins to slip away from the glass’ surface and crawl along his hand. The man quickly breaks his glass with a quick hand motion and the chaos creature fades away from his sight.
A few hours later….
The two men enter a small restaurant and the hostess eyes widen at seeing the two men. One of them has an elegant and technical outfit, that makes him appear to be a visitor from the future, and the other is wearing a stripped suit. Doing her best to ignore their out of place outfits and perform her job, she asks, “A table for two?” The man with the futuristic get-up says politely, “Actually, we are here to meet with one of our associates. So we will be sharing a table with her.” He offers the hostess a credit card and says, “Here, use this to cover her check.”
He then proceeds to sit at a table with a girl eating as much food as she possibly could consume, while the other guy decides to hit the bar real quick to get himself a few drinks. He studies the girl for a quick moment, wondering if she has been depraved of food as of late, or if this is just her normally eating habits. Regardless, this was not the time to go over her diet with her. They had a much more important task ahead of them. “I glad to see that you are enjoying the local food here, Marceline.”

The cold turned Matt's every breath into a white mist as he walked on the lonely road. He arrived in an internet cafe in town about an hour and a half ago using his digivice's transportation ability and was glad no one noticed his sudden appearance. He walked in silence except for the chattering of teeth when he couldn't hold it in anymore. He wasn't expecting it to be this cold, even if it's Siberia. His favorite green winter jacket did its best, but it was no match for nature's freezing wrath. He also heard once that blond people were supposed to be more resistant to the cold and that's why nordic people had fair hair, but that was obviously bullshit.
He was so preoccupied by his thoughts and curses directed at Siberia's climate that he didn't even notice that he got close to the tall man eating some sort of red popcorn until he almost walked into him. "Oh sorry, I didn't see you there, sir. I wasn't expecting to run into anyone on a road as desolate as this so I wasn't paying attention."

Crossing of the Magic Girls: Crossing of the Hunters
Jet lag the enemy of every man, woman, child and even Magical Gem Girl if they weren’t prepared. Kusuri Inoue the Mahoseki Warrior of the Ruby Heart groaned a bit as she woke up from a jet lagged induced slumber in a dingy little in small town in Siberia (aka Frozen Hell). “Why does the magic gem you sensed have to be located within such a freezing place?” The young nurse was speaking to Shinshi the slim white rabbit with wings on its back that now sat on the night stand next to her. Shinshi was no ordinary strange looking creature, he was a Mahoseki Knight under a powerful curse that trapped him in this form he was also Kusuri’s guardian and somewhat mentor. “I told you before I have no idea how or why the Gems appear when and where they do Kusuri.” Shinshi was communicating telepathically with Kusuri as he did with any of the Magic Gem Girls through his unique connection to the gems. “Now come on we need to gather the Mahoseki Gem before the Konton Empire realizes its presence and tries to get it.” Kusuri groaned and yawned as she sat up, “Fine, fine jeez remember we still have to act like we are having fun after all Professor Weston gave me to the money to come here because he thought I would be doing research.” This was the truth as the only way Kusuri managed to get to Siberia in the first place was she told her favorite professor (one she a particular crush on) that she wanted to do research on medical plants and technology in a place like a Siberia. And despite how lame this excuse was the Medical Prodigy Professor more than willingly gave her the money and even offered to accompany her and explain the trip to her family.
The young magical girl got ready for the day with Shinshi locked in a closet, ever since she had learn he was actually a male and a magical knight she was very cautious of changing and undressing in front of him.
Kusuri was no one near ready for the brutal cold of Siberia, even wearing a light blue jacket, thick jeans, and fur boots (all provided by Professor Levi Weston) the chill still stung at her. With a backpack on containing Shinshi and her Mahoseki Wand. “Okay Professor Weston, I’m going to get going to do some research. I will be back later.” Levi Weston a medical prodigy and from a very wealthy family sat down in the inn lobby enjoying a snack while reading a newspaper that talked about continued investigations into the Osaka Incident several months back. Levi was an about 25 thin with short brown hair and glasses. “Okay Kusuri dear, are you sure you don’t want me accompany you. The world is a dangerous place.” Kusuri blushed at the idea of her teenage crush watching over her but knew it would complicate things. “No sir I’ll be fine. My mom been teaching me self-defense since the whole Osaka incident and my brother taught me to stick up for myself before he left. Besides you done enough getting me here and getting me this inn with your…um how did you put it…oh right connections around the world.” Professor Weston seemed satisfied and nodded before waving goodbye. Kusuri headed out of the inn and down the small street the White Rabbit popped his head out, “So Shinshi can you sense where the Gem is?” “No I can’t there seems to be some interference but I’m sensing a huge source of magic from that diner over there.” Shinshi frowned slightly something seemed different Gem he had not told Kusuri since he sensed the Gem about a week or two ago but either way he had an uneasy feeling about it. The young girl entered the strangely busy restaurant which was filled with all kinds of odd individuals.
Meanwhile
Within the forest of Siberia a hunter moved swiftly and silently a determined look in his eyes, Crow Cementerio the American BH was in his own personal hunter mode. He was hunting for a friend who was in need of his aid. The Rail-gun had received Dan’s letter not too long ago and had dreadful flashbacks to what happen to Gen Shishioh in the Sakurajima Incident. The Gunslinger was determined not to repeat the same mistakes so he went after Dan hoping to save the Pink Comet from whatever trouble he find himself in. Crow shivered a little as he stopped to catch his breath, he was wearing his typical cowboy-esque attire. Consisting of his magically sewn poncho that he commissioned from the Seamstress Guild, a black vest with a few pockets sewn into it over a white button down dress shirt, and brown leather gloves. Crow also had on black jeans with a bullet belt around his waist, containing both normal ammo and Toni’s Alchemic Bullets, which connected to his holster which contained Quicksilver.
Crow lit up one of his medical cigarettes he had begun using to fix his weakening connection to Natural Energy, the cigarettes were filled with various medical herbs and allowed Crow to focus a bit more on the energy around him. However a down side to the smokes were that Crow’s had not gotten the blend right and suffered varying side effects from them as well as they were only a temporary fixed. Crow shivered as the bitter cold of Siberia wrapped it fingers around him, even under the magically enhanced poncho which could regulate temperatures both hot and cold, was no match for Siberia cold.
The sound of cracking branches in the distance made Crow reached for his revolver and reenter hunter mode. Crow slowly moved towards the noise, his fingers were only inches from revolver, he could see someone in the distance his vision started to get spotty (a side effect from his smokes). He rubbed his vision to remove the spots as he approached the target from his behind he wasn’t sure if they were friend or foe but he did see a scarf covered in Superman’s shields. Drawing Quicksilver with slow, silent, methodical moments Crow take aim from behind speaking so he didn’t out right startle the target. “Hold it right there partner. No sudden movements now or I’ll make you have 6 new holes before you can turn around.”

Appearing out of a nearby alleyway, two figures, one tall and one short, walk out into the remote town in Siberia. The tall one was a woman with long blond hair, a small portion of it hanging down in front of her face. She wore a thick black coat with yellow trim along the zipper region, and a pair of dark brown pants underneath. The shorter woman next to her was wearing a much more stylish pink and white coat, with fuzzy grey fake fur inside of her hood. This woman also wore a pair of matching white ski pants, as well as a pair of knitted pink gloves that kept her hands warm. Both of them looked less than happy to be in this frozen region of the world, but they did come prepared for the weather.
"You sure you want to go through with this Haruko? Dan has stated that he has hundreds of these monsters at his command. I know you two have worked together before, but there is no shame in letting us handle this." Aria says to her shorter sister, having tried to convince Haruko before they left to stay behind for this one. Haruko merely shakes her head, and looks forward toward the town with determination. "You know I can't back out now. Dan wouldn't have given me that note unless he wanted to be stopped. So as a friend, I want to help him out." Thinking back to the incident in Osaka, Haruko remembers how Dan fought to near dead in order to save another friend of her's, Gen. So it was only right that she do the same for Dan when he's in trouble. Nodding her head, Aria begins walking forward into the town.
The two of them walk in near silence, the awkwardness between the two still not fully broken after meeting each other for the first time in 20 years. Strangely enough, that meeting took place in an environment similar to the one they were in right now. The duo decided not the bring in more HWIC agents for this mission because Dan requested the two of them to be there, and they had intel that many third parties were coming to lend a hand as well. But just in case, Aria had her ear piece in constant contact with the their Intelligence division. Strangely enough, the two spot a woman wrapped up in a thick coat down the road, but they decide to keep on walking, not wishing to make assumptions as to why someone is in this near deserted town.
---
In a nearby forest to the town where the group was congregating, a figure that could almost be described as a giant marshmallow was sitting on a tree stump cleared of snow. The person wore two puffy coats on her body; the inner one being dark green with a white and pink flowery design going down her sleeves. The outer coat was slightly wider than the inner one, having a dark blue color with tiny bubble and fish designs dotted around the coat. The person herself was an unusually short female, with light green hair and cold, unemotional yellow eyes. The bundled-up woman was staring at a set of white flowers in her hands, having recently dug them up from the ground. Like many other forests she visits, the main purpose of this one was to observe the different plant foliage that grows in this particular region. As she began to determine the chemical composition of the flowers, she hears a person yelling nearby and...a southern accent? Zipping her coat up more, the woman hoped that these two loud people wouldn't get near her and her research.

Eve sang a little sailor's ditty as she picked up sticks. "Yo ho, fiddle de de, being-" “Hold it right there partner. No sudden movements now or I’ll make you have 6 new holes before you can turn around.” She sighed and dropped her sticks. "What do you want? Money? My body? Don't waste my time here, it's cold as fuck." A few flakes of snow beginning to fall were no colder than her voice. She did hope he wouldn't shoot any holes in her coats. She'd hate to get blood on her everything.
___
Marceline was just beginning to notice the sheer amount of people coming into the little restaurant when her boss sat across from her. Realizing what a mess she was, she wiped her face up with a handful of napkins. "Hey." She said before digging back into her burger. Rude as she was, she had managed to drag herself into a shower this morning. Apparently this mission wasn't expected to be too fearsome, so she wouldn't get too stinky again. "U shaid dere wash anoder guy?" She spoke through a full mouth. Marvel had told her he was bringing another employee, but she hadn't seen Chase make his beeline for the bar. "Aw, fg." She swore when she glanced out the window and saw snow beginning to fall.
___
Huntsman turned to the source of the noise. The hood completely hid the face within, thankful since it was starting to snow. He wasn't sure how he had gone unnoticed. His glaringly red outfit stood out like a spotlight on the pale landscape. But hey, the little twerp was pretty cute. "It's alright." She said. "What even brought you this far out in the middle of nowhere?" This better not be a fucking normal. Normals cramped his style.

Matt opened his mouth to answer the question, but he paused. Should he tell her? This was not a place where someone would be for no reason, especially with this weather, so they were probably here for the same reason. But he couldn't be sure if that was really the case and he didn't want to piss off one of the Organisations. But she had an unusual aura about her... But he couldn't risk it! He was too young for superjail!
"I'm, uh... I have some business with a guy who's in this direction. Maybe you have the same business with the same guy?"

Arlana attacked her hamburger voraciously at first but her bits got smaller and smaller very quickly. The Tarot Apprentice often looked out the corner of her eye the thin woman that was eating like a wolf with six pups and her hunger was replaced by the typical teenage insecurity with frightening speed. Mechanically eating some overcooked fries, the girl sighed and sank down on her chair trying to hide her body beneath the table while leaving her head above it. Truth to be told, she wasn’t as ugly as she thought she was but her teenage body was still in development and the silly girl usually compared herself to those eighteen year old super models or movie stars that had a sensual and womanly figure. She was just a bit chubby (but far from being considered fat), her hips were a bit wider than she would have wanted and although she had the chest of a normal girl, Sun’s constant teases made her have a bit of a complex. However, Arlana was really proud of her hair. Inherited from her late mother, her beautiful crimson mane that fell in messy and shiny curls to her back and made a perfect contrast with her big deep blue eyes. Forcing herself to get some more bites, Arlana watched without much interest as two guys in suits went appeared through the gate and sat with the blond woman. She didn’t put much attention on their clothes as she had other thoughts on her mind. Suddenly, a tingling sensation on the back of her head took the girl out of her musings. It was that strange sensation you get when you feel as if something was watching you. Arlana stared at the doors of the restaurant when a small, pink haired Asian girl opened them and got inside to escape the glacial weather. The curious sensation grew stronger as the Kusuri walked into the room and Arlana recalled feeling something similar when she met another pink-haired girl Asian girl. “I guess I’m in the right track, then” she muttered with her eyes fixed on the restaurant’s latest costumer. Arlana wasn't thrilled about another encounter with the Hidden World but it seemed that whenever the Cards where, It was there too.

"Here you go." said the bartender. Chase reaches for his whiskey, yet there is a diminutive hesitation behind his action, as if he needed a moment to inspect his drink. During that minuscule amount of time, his eyes stare at his beverage in a trance like state, and for a moment his sight switches reality with a far different image. His whiskey now appears to be the strongest drink he has every received in his life. He looks ups and doesn’t see the bartender. Instead, the man standing in front of him is one of the most despicable beings that has ever exist, and he has the misfortunate of serving under this devil.
“I hope your enjoying Happy Hour.” said the man with crimson red hair and a pitch black toothpick size cig in his mouth. His entire three-piece suit is primary blood red with angelic white as a secondary color, along with belonging to the fashion era of the Roaring 20’s. Chase attempts to reach inside his pocket in order to retrieve his weapon, yet he remains utterly motionless. “Come now, don’t be like that my beautiful simple minded alcoholic. I just wanted to see how you are doing. Yet, you don’t seem to be in the mood to converse with me. What a pity!” said the man in an overdramatic fashion. “You really should learn to comprehend how your attitude effects the people around you. Perhaps then you wouldn’t cause so much pain for others.”
Though his body could not move a single bit, his eyes seem to pop out his skull with rage. While he glares with predator like intensity, the man just looks at his watch and exclaims, “OH NO! I’m going to be late to my party!” He turns and says, “I would have brought you with me, but your personality is terrible. Besides, how can you appreciate soul music without a soul.” He looks at Chase as if he is a puppy asking for food. “Alright, I can do at least much for you before I go.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a crumbled ten dollar bill and places the ruin paper down on the table. “See you later soul sucker!” said the man as he brings his right hand up to wave goodbye. Suddenly, Chase’s eyes blink and his vision returns to reality. As he grabs his drink, he wonders if what just happen was an illusion. He looks down and notices a crumbled dollar bill right in front of the bartender’s hand.
______________________________________
“Yes. There is another person here under my employment.” said Smith calmly. Hopefully, there won’t be any problems between the two of you. That would be counterproductive to my plan of having given both of them the same assignment like this. He looks over to the bar and sees that Chase has already made himself at home. Yet, he notices the slight difference from his typical hand speed to grab a drink. Is this perhaps another sign of his current condition? He then turns to look outside and watch some snowflakes hit the ground, before he gives Marceline a MCD, “Here, use this for communications.” After explaining how it works, he finishes off by saying, “Fair warning, since this is essentially a telepathic device, if you don't want to allow us to hear your thoughts, don’t apply any pressure on the circle in the middle of the MCD.”

Trudging their way through the snow, Aria and Haruko decide to ignore the scene between the woman in question and the person she was talking to. As they continue on the path to the meeting location, Aria couldn't help but spot something...odd in the woods nearby. She scans the area, a more serious look now spreading across Aria's face. Noticing that Aria had stopped walking, Haruko looked at her sister with one eyebrow slightly lowered. "Huh? What are you looking at?" The seamstress asks. "I smell...something strange." What was this scent? It had a strangely pleasant, sweet smell...almost having a soothing effect on her nerves. But it didn't match the scent of any drug she had been trained to smell for...not marijuana, tobacco, or any common herbs that were smoked for a high. "I'll be right back..."
Wandering off the path, Aria follows the strange scent coming from the forest. It didn't take her long to come to a clearing where the scent was strongest...being in the middle of a circle of oddly-colored flowers that didn't quite make sense given the environment, as they were clearly not covered in snow like the other vegetation. Scanning the area, Aria smiles to herself slightly. "Apologies, there is no need to hide from me. I like the flowers you brought here." Suddenly, a vine lowers down from up a nearby tree, carrying an unnaturally short girl wearing a puffy light blue coat, with a similar green coat under it. Both of the hoods were it, so the only facial features Aria could make out were a strand of light green hair flowing down the girl's face, and a pair of piercing, emotionless yellow fox-like eyes. The two stared at each other as time seemed to slow down, the two of them sizing up the other, studying their appearances. This one's tall... She's short, too short. Why is she here...? She has plant powers too, the vine and flowers prove that. Those eyes...she's studying me.
The bundled up woman only stared at Aria with her dull, yellow eyes, waiting for her to make a move. Finally, Aria looks down at the flowers at her feet, then back at Cadence. "I couldn't help but smell your...unique scent. What is that, exactly?" Cadence stares at Aria for a few more seconds, taking another puff of her pipe. "...my blend." Not the talkative type, it seems. "Fascinating. What's your name?" "...you first. It's polite." Cadence replies, not wanting to give away information unless she got some in return. Aria crosses her arms, nodding her head. "Of course, how rude of me. My name is Aria, nice to meet you." Aria would keep her job title a secret for now, not wanting to change the two's dynamic just yet. Cadence nods her head, running the name through her head. Aria...Aria...that name seemed familiar somehow. "...Cadence." Aria takes note of the name as well. What are the odds that she's find a woman who could control plants, had piercing eyes like her own, and whose name also was a musical term? More information would have to be gathered here.

Crossing of the Magic Girls: Crossing of the Hunters (Part II)
As Crow was a bit startled when he heard the voice of the women he had drawn his revolver, as snow started to fall around the two of them the women’s voice had a chill to it that put the Siberia tundra to shame. Crow twirled Quicksilver on his finger before dropping it in the holster but he didn’t drop his guard. “No I don’t intend to gun down a woman especially not from behind it’s a bit against my code. I don’t want your money or your body no offence mam. I just want some answers I’m looking for a friend in need he is supposedly hiding out here in Siberia. He goes by the name Dan Drake.” Keeping his guard at its peak Crow slowly approached the women from behind. “So how about you turn around real slow and you and I can have a little chat.” Unfortunately just as he said that Crow vision once again became spotty this time even worse before he stumbled a bit and tried to regain his composure.
While Crow and Eve cross paths in the forest area Kusuri entered the diner and was taken aback by how many people were currently in the small building it must be once in a blue moon that this place saw this kind of business. The young magical girl took a seat in the back and immediately Shinshi communicated with her telepathically. “Kusuri took note of the girl currently sitting at the bar she appears to be about your age.” Kusuri took notice of the girl her Mahoseki Mentor pointed out but nothing seemed extraordinary about her. In fact to Kusuri she seemed really nice and may be someone she could be friends with. However Shinshi continued, “I can sense a source of magical energy from the girl I don’t know if it’s from the Mahoseki Gem because of the interference but keep an eye on her. We are in unfamiliar territory and no one is to be trusted no one is a friend or foe unless they prove themselves otherwise.” Kusuri comically went on high alert at Shinshi words making the White Rabbit sigh to himself. The young girl had a long way to go and a lot to learn when it came to investigation the Hidden World that she found herself in.
Back at the inn Kusuri left, her medical teacher the young prodigy Levi Weston read through a newspaper a slight frown on his face as he read about strange incidents that seemed to be popping up randomly. The explanation the news gave seemed to be well rehearsed lies, a giant show of smoke and mirrors to fool the general masses, it was slightly frustrating if only someone would shatter those mirrors and blow away the smoke. He phone suddenly went off beside him and he glanced down at the message.

Eve frowned when Crow mentioned the name of his target. So they were in competition. She could hear him stumble and that was all she needed. She wheeled and threw a punch for the side of his head with force that would fell any tree in this forest. "Nah, talking to you is boring!" A knife protruded where a kneecap would be on a normal human being. She reached out to grab his coat and pull him into the strike. Her hand paused involuntarily when a wail broke out through the forest. It wasn't anything audible. It was in the back of her mind, growing and growing exponentially. A moment later, Crow too would hear it too. It scrambled the mind, threw concentration to the wind. Eve snarled and staggered away from Crow, his image becoming blurry in the thickness of the snow. When did it start getting this bad down here?
It only grew greater, now niggling the back of Aria, Haruko, and Cadence's minds. Eve wheeled and found what looked like the culprit, something dark moving beyond where she could get a look, nearly hidden behind the trees. "Alright, truce until I remove his brain so he stops fucking with mine!" Eve pulled her sleeve down and her arm split open to unfold into its full cannon form, shiny and chrome in the weak light.
___
Marceline swallowed with a great gulp. She had to quickly grab for her drink to wash the chunk of burger down. It seemed her huge mouth could grab much bigger chunks of food than her pencil neck could handle. She frowned, then was immediately conscious of how that made her face look. She settled for resting her face on her hands in a way that hid her mouth and making absolute sure she didn't touch the middle of the card. "So since this is my first time meeting in person with you..." It was overwhelming. Here was one of the richest men in the world and her employer, and here was she, Ugly stupid Marceline stuffing her fat mouth full of junk. Even Marika couldn't make her feel like such an ant. "I just wanted to know what I am to you. Since you're my boss. What are all my duties?" Was hitting things with bats all her life would be? It still bothered her.
___
Huntsman ran through her limited mental faculties. Business? What sort of asshole lived way up here? Did he mean Dan? Was he working with the cult? It would be a shame to kill such a cutie, but he'd have to if that was the case. Of course, it could be tricky. He would be a psychic of some sort. Of course, it would be even more of a shame to kill him then find out he was okay. Caution for now, she supposed. Huntsman struggled through the thickening snow and turned a little towards her traveling companion. "Ohh, specific. I can't really say without more details on what guy and what business."

"I don't know if you're allowed to know." Matt thought about how he could get into more detail without saying anything he potentially shouldn't. "Let's just say there's some douche somewhere over there and he's doing something really bad. I want to stop him. I hope that doesn't make me sound like some sort of action hero wannabe."

Arlana took her eyes off Kusuri to check her wallet and sigh miserably at the pathetic amount of money she was carrying and noticed she didn’t have enough for the hamburger. Travelling across the world hunting the cards was destroying the small savings she could scrap out of her job at the Cafe and the Tarot reading business wasn’t going to well. As she searched frantically her pockets hoping to find a hidden coin somewhere, Arlana missed the way Kusuri’s back suddenly got tense as she look around suspiciously, like a threatened house cat, when she saw the Tarot Apprentice.
“Gotcha!” Arlana threw her fist to the air, clenching a bill so creased it was almost unrecognizable, and celebrated with a silly laugh. She paid for her meal and looked out the corner of her eye at the pink haired girl. “Something tells me that she’s going to the same place I am” she thought and then shrugged “At least I’ll get company”.
The red haired girl walked towards the table where Kusuri was sitting and with a friendly smile asked “Hey, I’m sorry. Do you, by any chance, know someone named Haruko Miyata?”

Smith answer in a straightforward manner, “Marceline, I consider you to be a worthy employee, and I’m fortunate to have you in my service. As for your duty, today your task with preventing a crisis that could very well threaten humanity. As for other obligations…make sure to protect the innocent, don’t kill unless it is absolutely necessary, and don’t be afraid of failure, so give it your all. Yet, I will ask you to be wise enough to know the things you can’t do alone. ” He studies her for a moment before telling her a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt, “If you prepare yourself at every point as well as you can…you will be able to grasp opportunity for broader experience when it appears.”
Chase sips his whiskey as his eyes are scanning bottles on the top shelf, yet he does dedicate all his time and efforts to his hobby. While he drinks, he also focuses on scanning the area around him. Before his training, he could probably only pick up about half a mile around him for the most on a spiritual scale, yet now his radar’s reach has grown more then tenfold. He has already pick up on a few interesting spiritual signatures, some of which are very familiar, others are a mystery to him, Yet, the biggest mystery is the incredible pulse he is picking up further out. Sadly, there is also some intense interference, as if the area is shrouded under a veil, which prevents him from picking up on any soul’s location within the veil. He cracks his neck after he finishes his whiskey, and proceeds to the bathroom to relive himself.

Back to Back: Face to Face
Normally the Last Gunslinger wouldn’t be caught off guard so easily by such a simple maneuver however this was a testament to how his currents abilities and skills were weaken from his actions back in Osaka. The moment he stumbled the other Hunter took the chance to throw a punch luckily for the Rail-gun he brought his arms up to block the tree crushing blow but he still felt the force of it. He felt his bones cracked and had to dig his feet into the ground to keep him from being sent flying. Eve attempted to deliver a potentially deadly knee to the head as she grabbed Crow who coughed up some blood following the shockwave from the previous strike. However just before her knife-cap stuck home it seemed that Eve stopped and stagger away.
It took only a moment for Crow to understand why the Huntress stopped her attack as a nagging, irritating, and growing noise began to scramble Crow’s concentration. Crow got back up to his feet holding his head as Eve called for a truce. “Ahhhh what the hell is that noise? And where or who is it coming from...Aaaaahh!” All the shapes in the forest around him began to blur violently and it wasn’t just from the smokes he had been using this time. The bounty hunter suddenly pressed his back up against Eve as he drew his own gun in the opposite direction. “Okay fine truce for now. But I’ll….aaaahhhh….pay you back for the cheap shot you landed on me! Damn it! That nose is getting annoying!” Crow was mildly impress by the gun Eve produced from her arm and came up with a quick strategy to draw out without is making that damn news before they could be possibly rendered incapacitated, “Nice cannon sweetheart! I suggest you start using that BFG to blast the area drawing t whatever is making that…grraaahhhh….damn noise. Then I’ll….urgh…take the shot and put it down!”
While Eve and Crow dealt with an unknown threat in the forest Kusuri was performing surveillance on Arlana, or least the best that Kusuri could. The young magical girl had tried to blend into the crowd in the diner ordering a few things and acting nonchalant but her version of nonchalant were more comical international spy instead of stealth master. She took note when Arlana was searching for money and panicked for a moment thinking she was breaking out a weapon. Even though Shinshi wanted her to pay attention to the girl and surrounding area the nurse’s stomach was calling much loudly and she decided to take a moment and enjoy her burger and fries…and then Arlana said hi.
Kusuri looked up in panic as the other young lady said hi and asked if she know Haruko Miyata, Shinshi also entered panic mode. “This girl knows of Miss Miyata, she must know she has a Mahoseki Gem. She must know who you are! Who WE are! Don’t panic Kusuri! Try to act calm!” The Mahoseki Gem Girl tried to keep her hands from shaking as she looked up and into Arlana eyes and suddenly became calm. While trying to spy on people and act sneaking was not one of Kusuri’s strengths, sensing people’s good and true hearts was. Just looking into the other girl’s eyes Kusuri didn’t see a potential threat instead saw something very familiar an insecure, uncertain girl lost in a world she knows nothing about. In fact it was who Kusuri was not too long ago, and to a degree still was. While the White Knight was hyperventilating from the backpack Kusuri introduced herself calmly. “Um I know of Miyata-san but not that much. We only met not too long ago and haven’t talked much since. My name is Kusuri Inoue by the way.”

The two plant manipulators were ready to continue discussing who they were to each other, but the strange wailing sound interrupted both of them, though the effects of it were much lessened due to the greater distance between them and the source, unlike Eve and Crow with their close proximity. Without a word, Cadence turns away from Aria and moves the vine she's sitting on to just below the top of the tree line, and bends some of the trees impreding her line of sight out of the way to see what is causing the noise. Aria decides to take a more direct approach, and places two black and red cartridges in her pistols. Aiming the guns at the clearing Cadence made, Aria shoots a single bright red flare outward that would dig in the ground about halfway to where Eve was pointing. The HWIC President then shoots her second flare, this time aiming farther to the right of the direction Eve was pointing, trying to warn whatever was making that noise to stop wailing or she wouldn't hesitate to subdue it herself.
Meanwhile, Haruko simply watched the action from afar, not sure exactly what to make of this situation, but was using her trained seamstress eyes to try and see what was making that noise.

Even Eve's eyes couldn't see the target through the blur of snow. She searched blindly until one of Aria's flares lit up the area near the target. The dark figure stood out for an instant in snow painted like blood. The next second, the snow was painted with blood when Eve lunged and punched through both the figure and the tree it hid behind. The noise continued, and Eve roared in frustration. At least now the source was obvious. Five more figures stood before her, all clad in heavy black coats, silver masks with long tongues shining under heavy hoods. Two of them had hands clad in brass knuckles, a third held a shotgun detailed in silver, the fourth's torso was wrapped in a belt holding dozens of knives. Eve picked out the largest of the group, a huge brute with an oversized flail. "Time to shut you up!" She readied her cannon and gave the group a mad grin.
Marceline sighed. "Are you always this vague?" She reached for another fry. The sound of shattering glass preceded something slamming into her only by an instant. She rolled onto the floor before tearing something off her hand and slamming it into the ground, leaving it lying in a crater. Something like a cross of shrimp, infant, and tyrannosaurus lay there. It had a small, pudgy human shape, oversized head sporting long tendrils from its face and the back of its head, hands and feet clawed.
Figures appeared in the blizzard outside, surrounding the restaurant. Tendrils burst through the glass, grabbing at civilians dining near the windows. The creatures attacking resembled the one on the floor, standing in many different sizes. The largest stood over 10 feet tall, clad in thick armor, gnashing cruel jaws with two rows of teeth. One of these giants jumped past its grasping siblings and swung at Chase, eyes on the redhead with a glowing figure in her pocket. Marceline grabbed her bat and got into a fighting stance, looking to her boss for guidance.
"Let's just say there's some douche somewhere over there and he's doing something really bad. I want to stop him. I hope that doesn't make me sound like some sort of action hero wannabe." "Don't worry, it does." Huntsman smiled at his cute companion before glancing around. The thickness of the snow made it hard to tell, but the environment was beginning to look kind of... weird. The shade of the grass had changed drastically, almost looking pink. It wasn't much further before strangely shaped plants began sticking through the snow in greater and greater quantities. Before long, every plant was this strange stalked bulb with petals like feathery moth antennae, stretching before them in a great field, thick and tall enough she couldn't see through it. "So... are these plants local?" She knew for a fact they weren't. It was bad if it was already this far along.

Matt failed to notice the shade of the grass changing thanks to the falling snow covering it up with a white coat. The weird plants also evaded his notice at first, but he noticed them as they became more common.
"So... are these plants local?"
"I don't think so. They don't look normal. But I'm pretty sure we'll have to go this way. I wonder if they're dangerous." Matt looked at his companion and then at the flowers, then back at his companion and then back at the flowers. "Maybe I should check if they try to strangle me if I get too close." He said.
Matt was encased in green light for a second and when it dissipated, he was replaced by a tall knight in shiny white armor. A crimson cape flowed down his back all the way to the ground. He approached the flowers and reached out for one of them with his white gauntlet.
