"You do want to eat me now." Remilia was about fire another round but the man was superhumanly fast. She tried resisting, but she was only human after all. He managed to grab her left arm and slammed her into the wall. It was painful but with sheer force of will and the adrenaline coursing through her body, she managed to stay focused.
He held her there, one hand holding her left arm and his other hand exposing her throat, but her right arm remained unrestrained. She tried to knee him in the crotch and at the same time fired her gun at his jaw. Hard to bite without the jaw. Impossible even. Perhaps she should also shoot out his upper teeth after this.

The man was aiming to bite into her neck when Remilia's bullet shattered his jaw, twisting it at an unnatural angle and leaving it limp. Hopefully she had earplugs like him, or her ears would be permanently damaged from firing a gun so near her face. He released her and stumbled back, bizarrely watery blood freezing the carpet at his feet. His body seemed even more different, his skin chalky and tight, hair growing out bleached white. He snarled and threw a punch at her stomach, then swung his arm to smash her to the ground. If he couldn't bite her, he'd tear off bite sized chunks one at a time.

As soon as she was released, she threw her gun at beast and jumped through the doorway. Using a program, she created a combat shotgun. Eight rounds total. It would be hell on her arms, but eight rounds in quick succession from a semi-automatic shotgun should be enough to stop him for good and the doorway would serve as a decent chokepoint so that he cannot avoid them.

The newly changed man snarled as Remilia dodged away to occupy the doorway. He snatched her gun out of the air, looking at it like he didn't remember what it was. When she whipped out the shotgun, he seemed aware it was dangerous, but showed no fear as he pounced, fingers curling to throttle her.

As soon as he appeared in the doorway, Remilia started firing. The first round was aimed at his right shoulder. The next two at his knees. Then at his other shoulder. At this point her right arm and shoulder were starting to hurt from the recoil and her aim got worse so she tried to hit the biggest target, his chest.

The man ignored the shot to his shoulder, confident now in his invulnerability. The shots to his knees dropped him to the floor, but he was already pulling himself up by the time the blast tore into his shoulder. He was staggering right up on her when her last shot caught him in the chest. His eyes widened in surprise and pain, and he stumbled back. He gurgled and fell on his back, arms flailing weakly.

The creature fell, finally, after taking eight rounds. Despite the pain in her arm, she put another shell in and fired at his chest just to make sure. Then she added another round and moved back before sitting down and placing the shotgun down next to her. At this point Remilia realized that she was breathing heavily and tried to calm herself. That was a tough fight, even for a supernatural creature. And where's that guy Wilson? Didn't he hear the gunshots? What's taking him so long?
Eh, doesn't matter. Remilia will take a small break before she investigates the room the man was in, but she can at least check it out properly. Of course, she kept an eye on the man/creature and her shotgun in her hand at all time just in case he still wasn't dead.

When the second round entered the man's chest, there was a sound like shattering glass and with one last scream, he fell still. Remilia was alone in a room with nothing but a dead body and some boxes. The carpet below the dead man was beginning to slowly soak with water. Wilson slowly passed the door, glancing into the room before deciding to carry on.

As there wasn't really anything of interest inside the room, Remilia decided to see what was in those boxes. Her best guess was vials of Frostbite.

Outside, Wilson studied the thick safe room door. He poked at the number lock, listening with no comprehension to the resulting beeps. He tapped on the door, with no result. Well, he would wait to cause any structural damage until after he had studied everything. He turned and walked into the room Remilia was in.
She boxes she had opened held various contents. Some held Frostbite or other drugs. Some held hundreds of cans of food. Others held what could be ingredients for various drugs- ice blew leaves, little bags of powder, whatever else was needed to form powerful narcotics. Wilson started slowly rifling through the boxes, staring at each new object with fascination.

Finding out that she was (mostly) right about the contents of the boxes, Remilia felt kind of disappointed. Guess there isn't much to do down here other then break into the vault.
"Did you find anything interesting upstairs?" She asked Wilson.

Wilson shook his head, not minding the blood he was getting all over the objects from the box. "Nothing. Why did you shoot him?" He didn't even look as Remilia, too busy, yanking cans open to see what was inside.

"He was hungry for human flesh. I didn't feel like being eaten." Remilia answered. "Plus, I think he told me everything he had to. Though I suppose asking him for the vault code wouldn't have hurt."

Wilson looked over to Remilia when she mentioned the man had tried to eat her. He fell to one knee easily and naturally like it was his most natural position, looking over the body. His hands easily shredded the man's shirt to look at his bullet-riddled chest. "Knife?" He looked up at her and extended a hand.

Remilia nodded and used a program to create a combat knife."Be careful. Whatever he leaks is incredibly cold."

Wendigo ignored the warning and plunged the knifed into the man's chest, slicing a window into his flesh and opening it up to uncover the rib cage. He ignored the ice cold water as he yanked the ribs out with his bare hands, exposing shriveled organs that briefly distracted Wilson. He breathed deeply for a moment before looking at the centerpiece. The man's heart was nearly entirely ice, shattered by Remilia's shotgun rounds. Exactly what he feared. The bite just made it worse. "There's another."

"Another creature like him? Yes, apparently Viridian is the one who bit him and killed the others. I'm not sure if he's patient zero or if he was bit by someone else, but he's currently locked up in the vault. I assume he is also the reason for those dents in the door." Remilia explained.

Wilson nodded. "Yes. I will open it and capture him." He paused as he approached the door. It made sense to him now. He remembered his death himself. The cold, the hunger. The moment the hunger became the man while his heart froze. An overdose of frostbite... the chilled body, the hunger taken to an even greater extreme... it was the same. "Others will have turned... anywhere there's frostbite." He whispered quieter than ever. The thought would chill his blood if it wasn't already frozen water.

"Then I will provide support." Remilia coded a P90 into existence and a backup pistol just in case. It would be less painful then using a shotgun again. "If he's like the last one, he'll live as long as I don't shoot him in the heart."

Wilson nodded. "He will be like the first, but... more." Wilson was no good at expressing himself. He was just glad this small human understood and was helping. He was worried she'd try to stop him from opening the vault and would be a casualty. He stepped out and faced the vault. "I can open it." His voice still stayed on the lowest end of human hearing, with the whirling cold and stiff breeze it brought.
