2015's Viceverse 1st Art Contest

My votes:

1) Hagane by NH Zacarias, my top pick for a number of reasons. The impact of the spear. The splatter in her hand. The musculature of her carapace and the battlecry on her face- this is pure gold. I love this image so much.

2) Inazuma Gakuen Class M by Rokuro screams Viceverse love, the subtle interactions between every character really shows just how much effort and study the author put into this.

3) Taylor's by Kalas Mikaa is exactly what I wanted to reimagine Taylor as for 2015- a smiler, a creeper, a torturer and a thinker. I love these two pieces, and I'm counting them as one for my third place.

Special mentions, IE stuff I would have put in my three votes if I had more than three votes:

Charlotte and Shinji by Laura Daniela Sciarra are simply pure professionalism in their execution, with both her pieces looking like they could be a stills from high-budget anime. If I was ranking these on art style alone, Sciarra would be taking all of the medals in my opinion.

Samjaz Shinoda by JuanMa Rondan and Slayer by Yamil Nuñez are also pieces I really loved for their quality and their reimaginings of two of my favourite characters to write. Ultimately, however, they were not ranked simply due to the overwhelming quality of the opposition.

Leora by Ludmila Turati is also a piece I love, and think should be entered in additional art contests outside of a viceverse context. The feeling of peace and serenity from this one definitely suggests it belongs in an art gallery somewhere.

First choice is Rokuro's Allan Walters. I like the small touches, like him being on a cloud, and the nice detailing on his tail's cap, as well as some similarities to his adoptive father being included. The horns and hair instead of a hood bugged me, but it's overall so damn good with the design, coloring, and ideas that I have to vote for it.

Marika and her dolls by Luis Marin also scores big here. It's not especially accurate for a number of nitpicky reasons but it's so wonderfully terrifying that I forgive it entirely. Plus, Marika's probably making Marceline smile. Great piece of art showing Marika's horrifying, psychotic bent. She's just so proud of her monsters.

Third was a very hard pick because I like so many of these beautiful things. But I have to go with Naief Ezequiel Chanuar's version of Leora. It's just beautiful in capturing the sweetness of the character, and the reason I like it more than the other is that this gives off a more mystical vibe to me. Congratulations to all who entered, but especially these three.

1) Charlotte by Laura Daniela Sciarra - It's so good, it looks better then official Black Rock Shooter art. Easily my favorite in this contest.

2) Leora by Naief Ezequiel Chanuar - She looks like an Egyptian goddess and I find that very appealing for some reason.

3) Taylor by Kalas Mikaa (the first one) - He looks absolutely insane and I like the way he's drawn.

Honorable mention goes to Laura's Shinji. I wanted to give it one of my three votes but since I already gave one to her Charlotte, I figured someone else deserved a chance.

Okay I got my votes I took a lot into consideration including who you guys didn't already vote for.

(I haven't interacted with Marika yet but after seeing that I really want to know)

(Just like last years winning Callis represented that character perfectly this does the same for Masako)

(It makes me want to deal with Callis more, do another Blades and Bullets with Kuma)
