Leslie's group ended up in a muddy swamp. Martha apparently noticed something of interest beyond the mud and tried going after it, but the mud turned out to be very sticky. "Oh no, Martha!" Leslie exclaimed as the blue-haired doll started sinking. Oh no, they needed rope! But she didn't have any! Leslie started panicking, not sure what to do. Could she dry the mud with fire? Ah, probably not, there was too much of it and she still wasn't too good with magic. Then... Ah! Her weapon might help!
Leslie held out her hand a red and gold trident with a white shaft appeared in her hand. "Can you grab onto this?" She stretched it out as far as she could for Martha to grab onto. But even if she did, Leslie wasn't strong enough to pull her out on her own. Someone else would have to help, too! --- The other group had a far worse challenge, partially because it was entirely self-inflicted! Their boat struck something and was sent flying, along with its occupants. Maya was the first to realize what was about to happen, thanks to her precognition. "Brace yourselves!" She said, but it was useless. She only had a couple of seconds warning. It was barely enough for her to prepare for the impact, as she lept out at the last second and curled up, rolling to reduce damage from the impact. She was glad she did that; if she skidded across the sharp rocks instead of rolling, she might not have gotten up again. Even now, she had bleeding cuts and scrapes as proof of what just happened, and her clothes had definitely seen better days. "Ugh, is everyone alive?" She said, looking around.
Aimi Maki was luckier. When she was sent flying, three more of her bushy tails popped out. They absorbed a lot of the impact and stopped her from getting cut up. The clothes she made herself were also cut resistant so her outfit didn't suffer at all either. Yet... "Ow ow ow! I think that bruised my tails! I'll never forgive you!" She yelled at Daisuke while hugging her tails with tears in he eyes. Then she noticed the state the others, mainly Maya and Eustace, were in.
"Oh, no no no, we can't have that. Give me a second." She opened her Kaspa and found her first aid kit. It was more useful for patching up Maya, but she would also try to help out Eustace and anyone else who got hurt if they allowed it. Once that was sorted though, she'd march back into her kaspa and come back with new clothes to replace the shredded garments the others were in now. On this, she was adamant.
"Oh, but these are genuine Bushy Brand outfits, so I'm only lending them to you because I'm not hanging out with people in rags. They're cut resistant, but if you somehow manage to ruin them regardless, you'll have to buy them!" She made a heart sign with her hands.

The boat shattered around them both Casey and Sid being thrown into the air and sent tumbling. “What the, OW!” Casey yelled, bouncing off the water and being sent back into the air. Sid immediately summoned his black obsidian boots, tiny lava veins could be seen throughout the footwear. He kicked off the air with an explosion and grabbed Casey before she crashed into a rock, using his other foot to smash into it and send the pieces flying. Casey looked up and saw she wasn’t dead, but frowned when she saw who was holding her.
“Thank you, that was very kind. Could you let me down now, please?” She asked, Sid nodding and placing her down onto the ground. “No problem, that kinda went to hell quick. You ‘right?” He asked, Casey rolling her shoulders. “Besides a little back pain, I’m fine. Now, where are w-AH!” She yelped at the state Eustace was in, but he didn’t seem too bothered by it? Who was this guy?!
Sid walked over to the others, letting Maki patch people up and kicked at the ground.
“Soooo...this can’t be hygienic to stand on, can it?” He mused, looking at their lizard guide.

Haven didn’t have time to ask further about Akabane’s powers when they got to the muddy clearing. Haven whistled at the amount of mosquitos there were, forming a thin purple barrier around himself to try and keep them out. His eyes immediately widened when Martha rushed over and began sinking into the mud. “Hey, hold on!” He yelled out, summoning his surfboard and sailing off toward Martha. His attention was briefly taken by Leslie trying to give Martha her trident, but he had a better plan in mind.
He soon arrived and floated a foot off the ground, crouching down and grabbing her hand. “Just go limp, ok? It gets worse if you struggle.” Haven tried to explain. He then began to raise his board up, trying to pull Martha out of the mud while keeping his barrier up to protect against the mosquitos, his hand poking through to grab his sister.

“Don’t worry too much, I can’t drown!” Martha called as she took the trident. With Haven and Leslie working together, she was beginning to slide up when the group was interrupted. A bizarre hiss screamed through the jungle when a burning green ray came coursing from the woods, fizzling out on the shield Haven had put up. Anybody who looked would see a humanoid figure, standing out blatantly in a vibrant blue morphsuit over an angular body. The beam had come from an equally blue gun in its hands. It was already changing targets, turning its gaze on Leslie and firing again.
“I’m not changing in front of you.” Eustace grumbled, but accepted the offered garments. A gentleman must preserve his modesty, after all. Thankfully, there were plenty of secluded spots here. Great spikes jutted from the beast’s flesh, upwards of ten feet tall and wider around than a man’s body, easy to hide behind. While he strode off to change behind one, Scalag looked at Sid. “It is… as clean as a forest floor?” Hygienic... the word wasn’t quite translating right. “But it is very dangerous. We must move with care.” He stood, finding himself more intact than the others. His tough scales had survived better than soft skin, and his feet were used to rough surfaces. His tongue flicked in and out as he led the way up the hill, sniffing for the deadly lizardfolk of the island. "This is their territory... but I do not think any are here right now." He said, moments before a fireball came sailing from over a ridge of flesh, exploding in the midst of their group. "I was wrong."

Sid saw he wasn’t going to get an answer, so just shrugged his shoulders and walked with the rest of the group. Casey followed along, looking toward Aimi after she was done helping everyone out. “So you really are a seamstress, huh? Can you like, levitate stuff in the air and make 3 outfits at once?” She joked, trying to fix her hair that had come slightly undone in the crash.
Suddenly, the ground nearby was hit by a fireball. Casey took several steps back, thinking they had enough firepower that she didn’t have to reveal the...dreadful super form she had. Sid took no issue though, summoning his obsidian boots and smashing his leg into a nearby boulder, shattering it. “Finally, we can pause playing detective.” Leaping up, Sid tried to follow the path of the fireball and would aim a flying kick at whatever device launched it. If it was a mage, he would lessen the impact and simply try to kick them into a wall.
---
The beam crashed against Haven’s barrier, making him look over to see...a person in a blue suit? Was this some kid playing a prank? Looking at the blaster, Haven’s eyes widened with interest. “Oh, that’s rad.” He muttered. It was like a laser gun out of Star Wars! He had to thank Jane for showing him that franchise. “Back up!” He called to Leslie, holding out his hand and making a rectangular construct appear to tank the beam as well. It didn’t seem particularly powerful. “Mind helping her out while I deal with our pew pew friend?” He asked, chuckling and taking off toward the strange person.
“Heeeeeeeey! It’s rude to shoot at people, you know?” He asked, lowering his sunglasses to get a better look at their adversary. “We’re just looking around, so there any chance we can settle this without having to kick your butt back to Planet Zargon 4?” He joked, placing his head on his chin and waiting for his response. This kind of suit would TOTALLY look cool at a rave, especially with glowsticks glued on!

"Sorry, I'm not having a chat with the power ranger. He shot first"- Akabane replied to Haven's effort on diplomacy. Musashi had already shifted her dual guns into a powerful sniper rifle, she took cover and laid low on the floor as she began to shoot concentrated ki beams off her weapon, looking to cut clean the legs of her target.
In the meantime, Callie had already bolted out of sight, she got closer to the enemy and jumped on it, looking to slice it on the back with her blade, she would then proceed to immediately sneak out of sight, Callie would keep the hit and run tactic until she piled up a good ammount of damage.
Daisuke moved out of the fireball's trajectory, following Sid's lead, he would proceed to bring up Sweet Jane, an oversized revolver that Daisuke loved spinning around for dramatic effect.
"Oh you are about to eat a fistfull of dollars"-Daisuke pulled the trigger of his gun, the weapon recoiling hard enough to break his arm. fortunately for him, it was made out of titanium.

Leslie and Haven started pulling Martha out, but a bizarre scream interrupted them. Before Leslie even found the source of the sound, a blue laser came right at her. It was a good thing Haven was way more experienced. The barrier saved her life, but it still scared her. She dropped her trident and took cover behind the nearest treestump.
"W... e... a..." Leslie stammered looking at who just shot at her. "Is that an alien!?" She didn't know aliens were real! Were they the ones who took the lizard eggs!? Were they making, like, a lizard alien hybrid that could take over the world!? That was a terrifying thought! And all Leslie could do was keep her head down and let Akebane fire her sniper rifle at the creature. ... On the other island, everyone was now patched up and properly clothed again. Aimi nodded her head in satisfaction. She particularly seemed to have impressed Casey. "Ah, no, I'm still only a Stylist really. That's a very high-level Seamstress skill. I can sew very quickly though." Her tail wiggled proudly.
Just then, a fireball come over a ridge. Aimi was luckily not in its path, but Maya dodged to the side. She pulled out The Bouncer, her specialized revolver with bouncy bullets, looked where the fireball landed, and traced its trajectory in her mind. Assuming the height and build was similar to Scalag... There!
She fired a couple of bullets at a little rock formation, or what looked like a rock formation at least, and the bullets bounced off. They bounced a couple of times off of different surfaces and, if the person who threw the fireballs hadn't moved and if they were a lizardman similar to Scalag, the bullets would hit them in the leg.

The shooter’s attention was drawn to the charging Haven and its gun turned back to him, firing a sustained beam. Calie’s blade flashed in from behind and ripped through the morphsuit. Instead of flesh, her sword hit steel, bending and tearing under the force of her swing. A gash opened up in the steel and wires beneath sparked, but the shooter did not even seem to notice, continuing its attack on Haven. The only difference made was that it tilted forwards as structural elements failed within it, but even hunched, it simply adjusted its aim and kept up its beam assault. Even Akabane's attack cutting halfway through its legs, leaving it teetering even more forwards, didn't stop it. “Guys?” Martha asked from the quicksand, slowly sinking again. “I know this is important, but guys?”
An instant after Maya fired her bullets, a great roar of pain rose from the cover of the ridge. Sid would see its source from his vantage point; a lizardfolk much like Scalag, with black scales like the ground they stood on and an ash-colored dewlap beneath its throat. It bled from a hole in its leg where Maya’s bullet clipped it, too focused on its injury to notice Sid plummeting from above. His foot slammed the lizardfolk right across the face, sending pointy teeth flying and knocking it sprawling on the ground.
Then the others appeared, jumping over the boulders they hid behind; the fireball had been a lure. Three lizards surrounded Sid, their dewlaps expanded into glowing red sacks of fire. All three attacked with spears, attempting to kill him swiftly before anybody else arrived. Over on the other side of the ridge, Eustace emerged from behind the pillar he dressed behind. “What’s going on out here?” He asked.

Akabane looked at Martha in the corner for a second, her stomach turned at how seemingly helpless she was, a part inside her did not want to do a thing to save her, in fact, just looking at her face irritated her to no end...so why was she now running to save her?!
"Ughhh why does it have to be me?! Kaneshige!"-She commanded her weapon and it instantly turned into a kusarigama, with one swift throw she wrapped the chain side to one of Martha's arms and attached the sickle part to a tree as she began to pull
"If that thing starts going after me I'm leaving you, got it?!"
"We are under attack, that's what!"-Daisuke told Eustace as he ran towards Sid in an attempt to back him up, as soon as he had the lizards on sight he would unload Sweet Jane on them, not particularly watching his aim as the destructive force of the weapon was to great too even try directing it.

The creature's appearance made Leslie completely forget about Martha's situation. Luckily, Akabane decided to help her out, transforming her weapon and trying to pull her out. Wait, that's not lucky at all! Now she wasn't sniping at the creature! Oh no oh no, should Leslie do something again?! Quickly! She summoned Spakleach, a summon that looked like a lit candle. "Do something!" She instructed it and the creature started headbanging, throwing balls of fire from its ever-burning wick. --- Bingo! Maya figured out the fireball thrower's location and scored a clean hit! It gave Sid an opening to knock him out, but it was an ambush all along! Maya started running over to get a cleaner shot, but Aimi whooshed past her. She was running on all fours, her appearance slightly more bestial. Maya couldn't see her foxlike vertical pupils, but she did notice her hair was wilder and her proportions weren't so humanlike anymore.
Aimi tried her best to reach the ambushers and leap on one of them to push himm down with her body weight. Her fingers were clawed now and she wanted to tear out his juggular.

Sid gave a small smile when his kick hit home, knocking the lizard man flat. "Hate to do that to you dude, but you shot first." He casually muttered. Sensing a few more ki sources, Sid looked over and saw three lizard people with spears coming for him. He then saw Aimi take off and leap at one of the lizard men, leaving two for Sid...as he stared down the barrel of Daisuke's cannon. "That can't be g..." He muttered, then seeing the massive beam come out of the barrel. Sid acted quick.
Deftly ducking one of the spear thrusts, Sid squatted down and brought his leg up, using his impact gainen to deliver a harsh side kick to the lizard that would hopefully knock him out of the way of the blast. He would then place his hands on the ground and try to leg sweep the other, trying to get him to avoid the blast too. "Give it up, my guy. You see the heat we're pack'in, right?" He asked, attempting to kick the spear away and keep the lizard man's neck held with his boot. If his plan failed, Sid would jump away and try to reassess the situation without resorting to killing the people they could get information from.
---
Despite the onslaught of attacks, the strange robot was still operating. Haven saw that Akabane was helping Martha, which allowed him and Leslie to focus on finishing the job. "I guess trying to reason with you is out of the question, so..." Holding out his hand, Haven attempted to form a neon pink bubble around the robot. If it continued to fire the beam, it would surely begin to bounce around inside the bubble and hurt it more. If it stopped, Haven would try to see if they could save some parts for investigation. "Oooo, I like the creature." He commented, porting to Leslie's summon and giving a nod.

“You didn’t have to tell me that…” Martha complained about being informed that Akabane would happily leave her to sink. Still, with the help of the chain, she was slowly wiggled out of the thick sand until she popped free. She had to wiggle her pants back around her waist, pulled down by friction. “Fuck fuck fuck! Don’t look!” She kicked her legs into place before jumping up. She had lost both shoes and one sock to the mire and was a uniform sandy tan. “Oh I hate this… I’ve got sand… everywhere.” She threw away her solo sock and looked at the situation with the robot, which it seemed Haven had handled.
Leslie’s fireballs had burned little holes in its morphsuit, but it was Haven’s shield that was destroying it. It refused to stop firing, and the backlash of its own weapon quickly blew enough holes in the gun to make it cease function. The metallic skeleton of a smouldering robot was left tottering in a neon cage. “I… I think you guys got him!” Martha peered around, gingerly stepping around. She barely needed shoes, but it was still weird walking barefoot in a jungle. At least here, it was practically a beach. The sandy soil made her think of something and she peered behind the robot. “There’s tracks! Wherever it came from, maybe we can follow it back!”
The confidence of the warriors around Sid was broken when terrifying blasts of light from Daisuke’s gun pummeled scales around them into dust and a glancing shot nearly removed one of their arms, leaving it dangling by a few threads of muscular tissue. Sid’s kick knocked the second down just in time to avoid a shot that would have similarly destroyed his head. He wisely chose to stay there while Aimi tackled the third. Her fangs sank into the swollen orange sack at the base of the lizardfolk’s throat and penetrated the flesh. With a flash, the sack exploded in a grand fireball, whisps of burning fluid splashing in all directions. The injured lizard coughed and choked, crawling away from the flaming puddle. The one Sid had bested looked around at its injured companions and dropped its spear, staying on the ground.

Akabane rolled her eyes upon hearing Martha's complaints. Of course she wasnt gonna get a thank you for having saved her, the last time she helped someone, it led to a perfectly avoidable duel to the death.
"You are welcome..."-She said almost whispering to herself as she watched Martha stroll off to follow the tracks, she turned around and saw Callie standing right next to her, which Made her jump in surprise
"Whoa You scared me, how do You do that?! Also, if You were here, why didnt you help your sister?!"
Callie shrunk despite being taller than Akabane, she got teary eyed and Akabane sighed.
"Well, don't worry about it, alright? Hiding was actually the Smart thing to do, do as I say, not as I did"-Akabane touched Callie's shoulder and briefly smiled at her before moving further
-
Daisuke holstered his weapon and it teleported itself out. He had done some serious damage, and nearly caught Sid in it
"Sorry man! I'm still trying to keep the aim of that thing straight. Anyway... why don't we ask the lizard why were they so trigger happy?!"-He said as he moved next to Sid.

Haven stood baffled as he watched the robot slowly destroy itself with its own weapon, reduced to a pile of parts on the ground. He tentatively removed the barrier and picked up the gun, turning it over in his hands. "Just what did you have..." He mused, adopting a James Bond pose and looking down at the pile. "Shame we didn't have your friend here, are you good at this kind of tech stuff? I'm only good with turntables, unfortunately." He said, scratching the back of his head.
Looking at Martha, Haven shook his head slightly. "Martha, I'm glad you're safe...but we need to find you some new shoes. Wouldn't want something crazy poking your bare feet, right?" He asked, looking over at where she was pointing at. "Hey, awesome find! You two ready to follow these things?" He asked, calling over to Akabane and Callie.
---
Seeing that the lizard had given up, Sid let out a sigh and pinned the attacker to a wall with his right leg, still covered in the black obsidian boot with tiny lava veins running through. "Like the cowboy asked, what was that?! Do you dudes attack everyone who visits here or something?" He asked, letting out another sigh. At least they didn't seem particularly strong, but what was that explosion over there? He couldn't see much, his attention being directed at the lizard.

Their barrage ended up destroying the robot thing! Leslie felt like Haven did the heavy lifting there, so she was glad they were all together here. Haven pointed out Martha was barefoot now though, and that could be dangerous if they want to keep following the tracks. Hm... barefoot... tracks... Oh!
"Maybe you can try the robot's shoe's on." Leslie suggested, proud of her idea.
--- Boom! She tore the bad lizard's neck off only to be blown away by a ball of fire! She rolled on the ground, putting out the cinders from her fur, er, hair. At least her clothes were fairly fireproof. "Ow, ow, oooow," she whined in pain. Her supernatural sturdiness meant she survived but it still hurt like a bitch!
"Ah, so that wasn't magic. They just spit fire. Interesting. Maybe they're related to the dragon we're standing on?" Maya mused, though she kept her gun trained on the surrendering lizard. "Why did you attack us?" She asked. "Are there more of you around?" She didn't know what lying tells a lizard had, but she watched for strange movements just in case.

“Where would we find shoes around here?” Martha asked. “The robot doesn’t have shoes, it has like… a weirdo suit.” She crouched and tugged at the remains of the morphsuit. “Why was it blue?” She wondered aloud. It wasn’t exactly amazing camo for a jungle. None of the mechanics underneath made much sense to her either. Even somebody more versed in mechanics wouldn’t find much of interest in most of it.
However, if some dissection was done, there would be something interesting buried in its shoulder and back. The mechanics there were surprisingly powerful, far more than they really needed to be to handle a plasma gun with near-zero recoil. Even so, it made no attempt to attack them at close range when it was still functional. It was an odd detail that would stick in the minds of the mechanically inclined of the group.
Sensing they were losing the fight, most of the draconic lizardfolk quickly retreated. Only the one Sid had pinned and the one whose throat had been torn out remained, that one hopelessly attempting to crawl away. The one Sid had contained snarled out words in a hissing, guttural tongue, only stopping when Eustace appeared, dragging a very unenthusiastic Scalag. “Oh. You were not killed.” The lizard man sounded surprised. “The power of the dragon has made them this way. Strong and… fire-spitting. And aggressive.” He looked at the pinned dragon and a long series of insults were spat his way.
“...she says… something that makes no sense. She is accusing us of stealing their eggs. I will ask her your questions.” Scalag’s voice took the hissing, sharp tones of his monstrous cousin. She fired back and he translated again. “She says again that you stole her eggs and that is why they attacked. Only this hunting party was here. The rest are trying to find their eggs.” Scalag tilted his head side to side. “I don’t understand this. Did the people who stole our eggs steal theirs too? That is worrying. To defeat both our guards and theirs, they must have been mighty.”

"I am not sure it's a bad thing that he's not here, he creates really dumb things with his hands. And no, I really cant say I know much besides fixing motorcycles"-Akabane admitted as she walked past the robot, she was definitely still in a rather sour mood, perhaps it was time she tried to stop helping people for good.
"I mean, we saw what they did to your guys, if they did that with their bare hands, then it's clear they are plent strong. we'll see how they fare against better armed opponents"- Daisuke replied as he checked the iron sights of his weapon, why was it so hard to aim the damn thing? should he lower the firepower? nonsense, he would never take the sweet out of Jane!

Haven stopped playing with the laser gun and looked at Akabane, tilting his head slightly and walking next to the warrior. "Is there something wrong, by chance? You seemed so excited for this trip when that cowboy was around." Pondering this, Haven strolled over to Martha and helped rub some of the mud off her legs with the towel around his waist, expecting to relax at the beach sometime. "Hey Martha, you should go thank that lady for helping you out back there. Just a suggestion." With a wink, Haven strolled back over to Akabane, seeing if she's ready to respond yet. While she did so, Haven would start prodding at the body, studying the materials as best he could.
---
Hearing the lizard explain her position, Sid now felt better about going easy on them. "So this was all a giant misunderstanding, huh?" He said lazily, backing off the lizard and scratching the back of his head. "Mind telling her we didn't do anything? And if she can like, show us where they were stolen? Our own Sherlock Holmes can probably find something." He said, motioning to Maya.

Leslie's idea was no good. The robot was wearing a full suit type of thing. Why would a robot be wearing shoes anyway? She hadn't thought of that. "It's a shame the seamstress lady isn't with us, she could probably make a pair," she said in the end. Martha might have to just go barefoot until they meet again. --- Everybody ignored the poor fox rolling on the floor! After she was so nice to rent them out clothes, free of charge! So rude! She hopped to her feet, patting away the scorch marks from her face. "I'm fine, thank you for asking," she said with a pout. Upon hearing the lizards' tale, she felt sort of bad for tearing out that guy's neck. She said that and apologized, though it was probably little comfort to the victim.
"Yes, I apologize for attacking, too. And I'm sorry you went through the same thing as the other island," Maya said sympathetically. "We will try to help you find your eggs as well. But this means we need to think more about the motives behind these crimes." The first thought was of course an attempt at provoking a war between both sides. Though Maya dismissed that almost as soon as she thought of it. Yes, it led their team to invading this island, but Skalag's hesitation made her think neither side would gladly go to each other's island. Even if they believed the others stole their broods.
Poachers, then? Collecting and selling lizardman eggs? Was that a sought after item on hidden world black markets? Maya didn't know. Another motive that came to mind was experimentation. If someone wanted to study or modify lizardmen for some nefarious science, stealing the eggs was the way to go.

“I mean, I would have, but… she gives me weird vibes. I don’t think she likes me.” Martha mumbled to Haven. “I guess I should anyway, huh?” Martha looked at her feet and kicked the ground before going back to Akabane. “Uh, hey. Sorry for not thanking you earlier. I was really rude. If you get in trouble I’ve got your back.” Martha offered her hand to shake. Haven might have been able to read a bit of the robot’s mechanics, but they wouldn’t mean much more to him than anybody else. Their only remaining hint was the footprints the robot had left, and so they followed them.
They didn’t lead far, it turned out. There was a short, dry path through the swamp, ending in a squat, ugly little slump of a hill, remarkable mostly for the cave that opened in its face. The tracks led right in, and the fact that a robot had come out of it wasn’t the only thing that made it clear something was up. The roots of the trees atop the hill were trimmed away from the cave’s roof, their tips blackened and burnt. And more mysteriously, a light burned deeper within the cavern, making the entrance glow.
“Your weapons are indeed powerful. Few are able to harm spirits, and we have seen what you managed to do to their warriors.” Scalag’s crest raised looking at the felled draconic lizards. They were enemies, but they were still close to kin, weren’t they? “So the savages weren’t to blame? Or so they say, anyway. I suppose they don’t seem very capable of lying, judging by our friend Scalag here.” Eustace clapped Scalag on the shoulder, making him jump. He scurried away, peeking out at the captured lizard from behind one of the great spines sticking from the scales below. He relayed their request, and after a moment’s pause, her response was relayed back. “Yes. She will take us. She wants us to help and will… tolerate me too.” His crest rose higher than before and he slid deeper into hiding.
“Her name is Khag.” He added for clarity. Khag pushed past Sid and led the way. The island was mostly open and desolate-looking. There appeared to be no plants, but fungus ate away at patches of scales here and there. Natural springs bubbled and boiled, colored by the dragon’s fluids and bacteria feeding upon them. It was a particularly large spring she led them to, crouching at the edge. She pointed at the water and Scalag translated. “They put their eggs in this pool. It protects them and makes them strong. They only had one guardian. He is… there.” Scalag’s tail drooped when he saw the guardian.
He was even bigger than Khag, and more draconic as well. His crest of scales had hardened into a tough frill, and red marks emphasized his deep black eyes. They stared into nothing now, placed above a gaping hole where his bottom jaw had been blown off, neck reduced to little more than a naked and burnt spine. If Maya looked closer, it would become immediately clear that what had happened was similar to Aimi’s enemy earlier; his flame sac had erupted. But here, it seemed it was a far greater blast. Fitting, for a greater dragon. His body lay half in the boiling spring and half out, spiked tail curled painfully upwards. His spear was still gripped tightly in one hand, now captured by the might of rigor mortis.

"Excited? Must have been your imagination. He's not even my friend"- She told Haven. Truth be told, most of Akabane's life was filled with sulking and trauma of her past. Maybe Daisuke helped her forget about it every now and then, but she made sure not to stay attached to him. After all, she was done losing loved ones. She saw the small talk Martha had with Haven and noticed her coming back. She sighed deeply after listening to her apology.
"Yeah, you were rude, but that is fine. Look, Martha, I am a lone wolf, inconsequential, nobody is waiting for me at home, you don't have to help me. take care of your siblings and be more careful next time"-She told her as she tapped her arm in a friendly manner, ignoring the handshake. she scratched her head slightly bothered as she walked past Martha.
As the group found the cave, Akabane noticed the glow.
"Alright, seems someone has set base here, why don't we pay this person a visit? see if this individual has what we need"
Daisuke looked at the guardian and scratched his head.
"Ehhhh...this is starting to look like a job for someone higher up in the clan ladder, talking about slayer class. not sure what you are paying me is really worth it, pal"- Daisuke admitted. Sure, he had a good arsenal, but it would mean fuck if the target could kill a creature that size that quick.
"I might be crazy, but I'm no idiot, gonna have to do some tweaking to the Virtual Machine, you guys go ahead and do whatever you need to do here"
Daisuke began to work on a Virtual Machine Release, the ultimate move of the weapon's interface
"I guess I'll call this 21 guns...can't be bothered to name it any differently, now, let's see what we can do to get some more firepower out of this thing"
