Marie was already prepared to walk away as the other strangers still chatted among themselves. Although her mind was occupied with the Japanese girl, Marie paused. She turned back around once more to face everyone. Suddenly she had an idea, or rather she recognized an opportunity.
"Okay, change of plans! Everyone give me a moment please!" even as she called out to everyone to make sure they didn't leave, Marie was already running back into the antique store which had inadvertently been the cause of the whole situation in the first place. While there hadn't been any artifacts that she deemed interesting or could afford, the antique shop did have some other things that had drawn her attention. Namely, it was a fair collection of maps, vast majority of them being maps of Italy and the Mediterranean.
She exited the shop only a couple minute after she entered. A quick chat with the shopkeeper and an examination of some of the older maps made her very confident that there was an unmarked island just off the south coast of Italy. It wasn't that the island was hidden or anything it was simply... unremarkable. Her father had taught her to examine maps for artifact locations. It didn't always yield results as historical cartography wasn't exact to begin with, but after going through a dozen examples one tended to develop a sense for locations that seemed both unremarkable and yet important at the same time. Of course even if the location did turn out to be unusual, it didn't guarantee that Marie would find any artifacts there, but considering the collection the antique shop had on display and the close proximity of the island to the town, it seemed more than likely to her. She had dismissed the possibility on chasing an artifact like that since she had been on her own and didn't really have the logistics for it, yet now with potentially a whole group of hidden world individuals all gathered at the harbour, the prospect was more than tempting. She just had to convince them to come along.
"Alright, good news. Mystical island some forty minutes south from here. I wasn't going to make an attempt without a team to back me up but well... if riches, objects of power, mystical knowledge or ancient ruins sound interesting to any of you I'd be more than happy to bring you along as support. Everyone's getting a fair share of what we find of course." Marie was doing her best to sell the idea to everyone as quickly as possible, especially considering she still intended to go have lunch with Anemone, but her description of the island was just a bit overblown. True, sites with artifacts did tend to have riches, or treasure, or knowledge, or power, or ruins or a number of other things, yet rarely did they have all of it bundled in one place. What's more there was always a chance that common fortune seekers picked the site clean a long time ago. In fact, the two men they had an encounter with were precisely the sort who went after locations like that. Still, although Marie had never visited a site properly herself, at least not to actually retrieve an artifact, she had pestered her father and sister to tell her about it enough times to know that the island shouldn't disappoint, as long as her unlikely companions weren't of too greedy a disposition.
"Let's say we meet back here in one hour? Everyone who shows up can tag along. Just make up your mind and be sure you're on time." Marie spoke rather quickly, truth be told she felt this was a bit too rushed to turn out well for her but she couldn't truly bring herself to pass up the chance. Doubly so because her visit to Italy had yielded no results so far. Is she managed to find even a single passable artifact on that island it would redeem the whole joruney.
"Well, ta-ta for now."
She grabbed Anemone by the hand and started walking back towards the town.
