The creature lounged itself onto the floor, devouring the contents of the room, the bullets that Rosenda shot were violently expelled out of its liquid body, damaging the walls of the hallway.
As Nerae reached for the girl, she pulled out her weapon but the little girl held her arm, almost as if to stop her from firing. "We are not getting anywhere with this, we need more firepower"
Nerae stood up and quickly ran for the door with the girl as the creature began to reform itself
"Nova, what the hell are you doing?!"
"Sorry, I'm busy as well"- Nova answered through the comms
"What?"
Nova moved out of the way as a black creature attempted to swallow her alongside the bed. the formless evil shot our spears looking to impale Nova in the process, but the agent dodged by slightly adjusting her body. The silent creature this time blocked the hallway that leaded outside the room and began to expand horizontally, looking to shred Nova into bits. The agent reached for the curtains of the window and jumped outside, entangling herself onto the balcony of the floor below.
"Looks like it wasnt a Nagual after all"- Nova said as she looked at the concert lights in the distance.

“More firepower? My thoughts exactly. I can shoot one-handed if I gotta and it looks like I gotta.” Rosenda raised her injured arm to her face. It was decorated with a watch, an old, clunky radio watch, rusty steel and archaic dials making it look like the sort of artifact the elderly just didn’t want to let go of. As she ran, she pressed a series of buttons and twisted the dials. Not far away, an engine roared into gear. “You guys get behind me! Way behind!” Rosenda called, stopping before another door. A low rumble became obvious, building until it crescendoed in shattering glass and Rosenda’s motorcycle smashed through the door behind her. She reached out, casually grabbing a gun off of the bike’s side. It was at first glance a shotgun with an absurd four barrels, all golden-bronze and shining. Rosenda tossed it into the air and caught it by a lever at the base of the barrels. Bracing it against her chest, she loaded it and yanked the lever. The two lower barrels slid out, forming an odd fan of barrels. “Hope you don’t need a body for ID purposes.” Rosenda smiled and pulled the trigger the moment the creature was in sight and close enough for her spread.
All four barrels simultaneously erupted and the hallway was filled with fire. She had loaded up the duckfoot shotgun with its most destructive possible rounds; explosive rounds. Released with a blizzard of fragments was a cloud of explosives, going off the very next instant and the source of the fire that devastated the hallway. Rosenda was thrown backwards over her bike, falling hard on the other side riddled with shrapnel. “Ah, dammit! Looks like I can’t shoot this one one-handed.” She rubbed her face, where the insane recoil had driven the lever. She was already forming a significant welt. “On the plus side of miscalculating how much explosive to put in those shells…” She jerked her thumb at the ruined hallway, massive, gaping holes in every surface, all concentrated into a strip less than a meter long.

Nerae immediately moved out of the way with the kid in her arms as the motorcycle made its way into the room, a violent roar could be heard as her weapon blasted the creature and destroyed the wall which leaded right to the adjacent room. Black pieces of goo were splattered across the room, or what was left of it.
"Holy shit that thing is crazy" -Nerae told Rosenda as she put a finger on her ear in a fruitless attempt to stop the ringing caused by the deafening noise of the weapon.
"Nova, everything alright on your side?"- The agent called for her partner but she did not respond, it was only a second after that Nova entered through the balcony.
"You took your sweet time, didn't you?"- Nerae told Nova, who looked at the kid as well as the destruction in the room and immediately understood the situation
"Looks like you were attacked by the same type of monster as I"- She replied, looking not to touch the goo splattered on the floor
"There's another?! well, no prob, Rosenda came way better prepared for this than us, let's hunt it while everyone is at the concert, once we are done with it we can just lock the floors and call cleanup"
"...it's the same"- The little kid replied still trembling
"Pardon?"- Nova replied wondering what the kid was talking about
"Camazotz is one entity, not multiple, we need to get out of here...It's after me"
The pieces of black goo began to turn into smoke and reform in the middle. At the same time more of the black substance entered through the balcony, looking to merge with the rest of it
"You gotta be kidding...Rosenda, get us out of here! my car is just outside the hotel, take me there!"-Nerae told her as she pointed at her bike, it was gonna be an uncomfortable ride, but they wouldnt be able to outrun the monster by foot.

“Bit crazier than usual, I’ll admit. Looks like I got the balance of shrapnel to explosives way off in that batch.” Rosenda pulled herself to her feet, using her motorcycle as support. She snapped the gun’s barrels back into position and slipped it back into its holster on her motorcycle. Her ears picked up Nova’s approach and she relaxed. Seemed she wouldn’t have to go running to save her.
“Camazotz?” Rosenda mumbled. She had heard that name before. Before she could think too hard about it, the monster’s leftovers were moving and shifting. Rosenda whipped out her silent pistol again, but the others insisted upon fleeing. “Come on, I got this.” She smiled, but the kid standing there made her put her gun away. “Alright, this isn’t gonna be fun. Hold tight and keep the kid safe! And lean into the turns!” Rosenda jumped astride her steel horse and revved the engine. Normally, she’d head right back out the window, but that wouldn’t do with motorcycle newbies in back, especially the kid. The front wheel left the carpet as she spun to blast down the hallway, slamming through the door to the stairs.
They bumped their way down, Rosenda kicking off the wall to make the turn. It wasn’t the slightest bit comfortable, but Rosenda handled the bike like she was born riding. She smashed through the door at the bottom and peeled out, sliding to a slop just outside. “Alright, so what was that about Camazotz?” She asked, ready to take off again as necessary. Seriously, where had she heard the name? Was it some guy from history? She thought that was the context she heard the name in.

"Sorry, Ros, couldn't have you shooting that thing inside the hotel and with the little girl in there as well"- Nerae told her as she hopped on her convertible.
"Nova, get the big gun on the trunk, that thing is gonna be here real soon"- The agent went to the trunk and got a barret 50. cal out of it. As Nova began to put the weapon together, the Girl spoke
"You won't be able to kill it, Camazotz is an immortal God. I'll tell you what I know, but we gotta go South, there's a place I need to get to"
"South is good, far away from the city and the people"- Nova answered as she finally loaded the last part of the gun. Almost at the same time, the black smoke stormed out of the building, spreading black wings that spawned at least the size of a small house.
"It doubled in size...no, nearly doubled, I'm thinking 97% more" Nova said as she stared at the creature
"Dude, let's get the fuck out of here, Rosenda, take the kid and let's go!"
The moment Nova got in the car Nerae floored the gas pedal, the Hotel was pretty far from the city as it was, but thankfully this would drive them further from any sort of civilization.

“Immortal? Fuck.” Rosenda grumbled. “Tangled with an immortal or two in my day. Never goes well for us mortals. Were any of you there when Ares came to Mexico City? At least he went crying home when he got hurt. I hear other gods aren’t so quick to flee.” She revved her engine and pulled her hat tight. The motorcycle took off twice as fast as the van, quickly accelerating to even quicker. She pulled back on the throttle, keeping herself roughly parallel with the van. Her ears were pricked for signs of Camazotz following. Would any of her available weapons even slow something like that down? She didn’t look forward to finding out.

"Well this one doesn't seem to be going home anytime soon, and...I think you might have pissed him off"- Nerae told Rosenda through her earpiece.
The dark smoke began to shoot black spears the size of a lamp post, the first one headed towards Rosenda, looking to destroy her, the kid and the bike in a single go.
At the same time, Nova began shooting the barrett rifle at the ominous smoke. The creature shrieked, but kept advancing nonetheless. A second spear came after Nerae's car, but she dodged it close enought that only one of her mirrors was destroyed.
"fucking hell I hope my insurance covers that one"- She said as she kept looking back at the cloud in an attempt to dodge the incoming projectiles
As they kept advancing the road was finally being split in two. the first sign on the left had a mountain logo, it read: Cedar Isle, while the second pointed them towards the beach, (sea of cortez).
"Take whichever, we need to lose him first, also, give me something to defend myself already!"- The child told Rosenda who was leading with her bike.

“I piss off a lot of people.” Rosenda sounded proud. Her ears pricked up and she pulled hard on the handlebars, tilting the motorcycle into a slide. The spear lanced right overhead, drawing a sharp hiss from the back of her throat. “Woo, this one’s madder than most, I’ll give him that!” She shoved off the ground with her good hand to right the motorcycle. Her heart was pounding now. She was in the zone. “Look, my kids were learning how to shoot since they could stand, but there’s a limit to that. These are dangerous magical weapons, and nobody touches them but me.” She waved a finger back at the child. Rosenda pulled to the left, waving to the van. “My bike’s all-terrain, but it’s not amphibious! I’m taking the hills!”

"Keep your toys then. Fortunately, it seems we got here faster than expected"-The little girl replied as she looked at the entrance of the tunnel.
The group quickly got into a large tunnel that was seemingly leading towards the mountain. The evil entity did not follow inside the tunnel, but it was clear they had managed to outrun it. As the group exited into the mountain, the density of the woods began to rise, soon there was no trace of the actual road, and only a smallish dirt road led them deeper into the forest.
"Ah, it won’t follow us all they way here eh? good sign.”- The little girl said as she looked back, noticing the cloud of darkness retreat.
by the time the group stopped, they were entirely surrounded by the density of the woods, no lights could be seen besides those of the vehicles.
“Okay, we have some room to breathe, I’ll tell you why i dragged you guys south.”- The girl said as she hopped off the bike
“My name is Garnet Gehenna, Vampire and illustrious blood mage, pleased to meet you”- She said as she slightly bowed. Her hair and clothes were still a mess, and she was still covered in dry blood, but she was clearly more confident now.
“oh great, you are a monster as well, I assume you are not a kid then”- Nerae told her with contempt
“No offense, Rosenda”-she quickly told her in order to correct herself.
“Of course, I am 12 years old already, but that’s beyond the point.”- The little vampire replied as Nerae frowned confused.
“You see, my family has had a close relation to the death God Camazotz for generations, I know for a fact he cannot go outside of Xibalba, so this means someone has summoned him and is controlling the creature to do his bidding. However, the Death God needs to consume powerful blood in order to remain in this world. Only the blood of the Gehenna could allow it to remain indefinitely”
The vampire began to walk into the woods, she signaled them to follow. Nerae’s copy power of Rosenda had already ended, so her senses weren’t nearly as good anymore. She used her cell phone to light up her way as Nova walked right behind her.
“There are two points in Baja that lead to Xibalba, one was in a cave by the beach, the other is here within the woods. First, I need a few materials in order to open the gate. Rosenda darling, I need you to gather Mayfield Sunflower, it’s Yellow bright, smells kinda like fresh orange, I’ll help you with that. and you two, I need you guys to gather some wood. start chopping, girls. we’ll meet here in 30 minutes”
Garnet and Rosenda got deeper into the woods, right until they found a rocky slope.
“The flowers must be at the top, above most of the trees. let’s start climbing, I hope all that stuff you are carrying doesn't drag you down”
The little vampire began to walk upwards almost as if she was stuck to the rocky path of the mountain. the mountain was perilous enough no rock climber would even entertain the idea of climbing all that, but it had to be done.
"Thank you for saving me back there, I really thought that was gonna be my end"- She told Rosenda, looking back to see if she was keeping up.

“Course we did! I used to race jet planes in this thing! I’m taking it easy to keep you onboard!” Rosenda boasted, patting the engine like a loyal dog. She only slightly slowed when they hit the dirt road, her bike handling it just like it did the asphalt. The bike growled to a stop and Rosenda hopped off, sniffing the air. They were pretty far off the beaten path here. No sign of anybody around for miles. “Pleased to meet you, Garnet. I’m Rosenda Ruiz, lycanthrope and Bounty Hunter, Artemis branch.” Rosenda tipped her hat.
“Hey, most of my friends are monsters. Let’s not get judgy here.” She smirked at Nerae. Her ears were picking up what Garnet was saying, but it wasn’t concerning her. “We’re opening another gate? Don’t we have enough of whatever’s on the other side coming through?” She asked, absentmindedly checking up on the guns she had used. “Oh well, you’re the expert.” With a shrug, she followed the child deeper into the woods. When they came to the cliff, she sniffed, picking up on the distinct smell of oranges. “Yep, there’s some flowers up there.” She stretched, old joints popping and cracking.
“Don’t worry about it kid. I couldn’t just sit back and watch a young one like you die. You’ve got a hell of a lot more life left than an old daredevil like me.” The popping intensified, joints moving in unnatural ways. Her arms jerked outwards, growing out of their sleeves. Hair thickened and lengthened into a scuzzy gray wool across every inch of her exposed kin. Her fingers doubled in length with a snap and fingernails became claws. Her jaws jutted forward, more and more, leaving her lips behind to create two horrid gummy lines lined with razor-sharp teeth. She flashed Garnet a thumbs up and kicked off her boots to jump onto the cliff wall, digging in her claws. It still wasn’t quick going, but she was able to blindly crawl her way up, claws making handholds wherever they couldn’t find any.

“I wouldn’t venture in Xibalba if there wasn’t something of great value. we are retrieving a couple artifacts that will definitely be of use.”
Garnet smiled and her little teeth poked. Rosenda had a wild personality, but she was incredibly kind.
“You are a good person Rosenda, If I do get out of this mess alive dinner’s on me”
As the climb upwards began to increase in difficulty, a noise below could be heard, it was some sort of rustling. something had also begun to climb, the weight of whatever had just clung onto the rock wall made the entire thing shake ever so slightly..
“That can’t be good...come on Rosenda, we are halfway there, we need to get out of here fast.”
Almost right after, gunshots could be heard in the distance. Nerae and Nova were firing at something. Whatever that thing was, it was uprooting the trees in the distance. Garnet stopped thinking about the girls and began to concentrate on their problem below. As she looked down below into the darkness, a horned figure began to appear, it was at least seven feet tall, with long limbs and claws, eye sockets completely void and no without ears., the creature had no skin, only muscle.
Garnet used her blood magic on the creature stopping it for a couple seconds before it pulled through. Tired, she let go of the spell. Killing it with her abilities would be impossible. The creature roared and shot its tongue at Garnet, who ran sideways managing to dodge it just barely. The tongue crashed against the wall, shatteting the stone where it connected. The creature then dragged its already extended tongue sideways towards Rosenda, looking to drag her by the foot.
"Rosenda dodge!" - Garnet told the bounty hunter unable to do anything at all to help her.

Rosenda thumbs upped again in response to the offer of dinner. She really should have told the kid she couldn’t speak in this form. Suddenly, her ears twitched and she growled. Of all the times for something to go wrong. She could only use her pistol from this position, and even that would be a total pain. There was a slithering, moist sound. A tongue attack. Great. She jumped upwards, but a damp serpent enveloped her leg. Her claws left furrows in the rock as she was drug back. Bit by bit, her fingers were popping free of their handholds.
Fuck it. I’m not fighting from up here. Rosenda shoved off of the cliff herself and came down with claws swinging. She couldn’t keep up her lycan form forever, and a high-stress situation like this would wear her out faster. She needed to win fast. She waved for Garnet to keep climbing and grabbed the gun she had chosen for this trek from the strap over her shoulder. It was an SMG of absurd vibrancy, day-glo orange with a blue lightning bolt etched down its side. The weapon in her hands was the magebane, feller of great wizards and slayer of dreaded witches. Magical defenses could not block its bullets. Her ears turned and she picked up on the slamming, mighty heartbeat of a creature bigger than a man. She aimed for the sound and rattled off a full round, pausing to listen for results.

the creature twisted in pain as it fell to the bottom alongside Rosenda, it wasn't a pretty fall, but it wouldn't probably harm her that much. the creature however, was definitely dead.
If Rosenda managed to compose herself quickly, she would hear the steps. out of the woods came Nova and Nerae running, the latter carrying a bunch of branches and wood chunks as they were instructed to
"Ros! ready up, they are coming!"- Nerae told her as they ran to her side. the agent threw the wood pile on the ground and unholstered her gun.
"I wasn't able to count, but I estimate 40. where's the vampire girl?"-Nova told Rosenda as she set up the tripod for her barret 50 cal. over a stone.
It was at this moment that the trees and the ground began to shake.
Out of the woods a group of 20 monsters like the one Rosenda had just taken out came, 10 went directly at them, while the rest flanked on each side, looking for an opening. If Rosenda was paying enough attention it was clear many more were coming after those.
Up in the mountain Garnet had finally managed to get some of the flowers, the battle below was noticed by her heightened senses, so she knew she had to hurry. She picked 4 flowers and jumped down below, hoping she would make it in time.

Under the rattling of bullets, Rosenda heard the monster’s heart stop as her shots turned it into ground beef. She huffed, turning back to the cliffside before her ears perked up. Something was coming. Lots of somethings. She already had her gun ready again when her comrades burst out of the trees. She pointed upwards when asked where the vampire girl was, unable to speak in her current form.
Hair was retracting, jaws snapping back to a normal length as she attempted to shed it and save her stamina for later. This really wasn’t a great position. A cliff at their back and woods as cover for the monsters. She growled, pointing the others forward while she rushed to guard their flank. Short bursts rang through the woods, aimed for the heart each time. Unfortunately, she could only handle one flank by herself. The other was wide open to be burst through, undefended by flesh or fortification.

Rosenda began to fire at the creatures with impeccable aim. However, a couple still managed to dodge her bullets and lounged at her, one attacking her lower half with its claws while the other went after her weapon, looking to bite it off her hands.
Nerae and Nova weren't doing so well. Despite Nova not missing a single shot, her weapon had a very low rate of fire and was not suited for close combat. Nerae, on the other hand, shot more wildly but with far lesser accuracy, the creatures jumped and dodged her with ease, one coming close enough to tackle the agent.
"This is no good. I estimate we will be overrun by the enemy in about 40 seconds"- Nova told Rosenda as she turned around and shot the creature that was trying to bite Nerae's face off. The agent dropped her Barrett 50 cal. and proceeded to unholster her pistol, with which she began to shoot at the enemies Nerae was supposed to take out.
"The brain, Nerae, anything that has a head likely has a brain, aim for that or the heart, we can't keep wasting ammo."
"I'm not missing on purpose!"- Nerae told her as she got up quickly.
The second wave of enemies came through the forest, but this time they were not attacking, the creatures began to prey on each other, everytime a creature killed and ate one of their own, it doubled in size. The group of twenty would soon become one.

“Ah, hell.” Rosenda’s gun was yanked from her hands, leaving her open for a claw swipe that took her legs out from under her and splashed her lower half with blood. She had her pistol out before she hit the ground and fired it twice. A backwards somersault carried her back to her feet. The cuts on her leg were superficial, but they were bleeding. She kept firing, ears trained on the horde. There was the ripping of flesh and cracking of bones ringing out in the woods, but her comrades remained alive. The only possibility was that they were eating one another, and by the sounds of their stomping, getting bigger doing it. A sort of violent combination. Rosenda smiled. “That’s great! Hold them off for a minute, I’m grabbing something!” Rosenda took off into the woods, heading in the direction of her motorcycle.

"no, WHAT? WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!!" Nerae Shouted at Rosenda, who was basically already gone.
"We are gonna get killed by that creature within the next 67 seconds, our chances of escape are roughly 12.8%, and beating it is outright impossible. It was nice being your partner, although you really should not smoke on your next life"
Nerae looked at Nova like she was crazy, FFS, how can anyone just accept their own death?!
"hell no, Nova, reload that thing, I'm gonna stop it for as long as I can"- Nerae told her while pointing at the Barrett rifle. The agent sighed.
"Alright, 67 seconds it is"
It was at this moment that Nerae used her copy skill once again on the creature, who was well over two stories high now. Nerae wrung in pain as she transformed into a monster just under half the size, she felt the sudden surge of strength and lashed out against the creature, running straight at it and jumping on its back, Nerae dug her claws onto the monter's flesh as hard as she could, looking to get to the creature's skull, but it was regenerating so fast cosmetic damage was all she could do.
Shortly after Garnet got to the base of the mountain, only to look at the two creatures fighting while Nova shot the rifle everytime the big creature tried to reach for her partner.
"I have everything we need for the ritual, where is Rosenda?!!"
"She left..."- Nova said as she shot once again
"WHAT?!"
"Do not worry, she said she would be back...in the meantime, you should help us gain some more time, i estimate you can add up to 7 seconds"
Garnet used her blood magic onto the creature, attempting to slow the bloodflow inside its brain, although it barely managed to inflict discomfort on it.The creature was too big.

The forest was filled with the sound of roaring, crashing trees, and gunfire, so it was hard to hear the low rumble. But anybody who paid attention would hear the distinctive motor of a motorcycle, swiftly growing in volume. With as much suddenness and stealth as a motorcycle could muster, Rosenda came bursting from the trees, sliding to a stop between Nerae and the monster. “Sorry for leaving! I needed some proper guns for this guy!” Rosenda pulled a lever by her front wheel and the back right behind her popped open for a missile rack to make itself seen, hooked up with four armed warheads. “See, I’m blind, so I like weapons that don’t really need to hit all that cleanly. And for those to work, big targets are very, very nice.” With the tap of a hidden button, one of the missiles flew free, aimed vaguely for the monster’s temple.

The moment Nova saw the weapon on Rosenda's hands her eyes widened and immediately shouted for Nerae.
"Nerae, get out of there!"- She said as she made a run right behind a rock, dragging Garnet with her.
Nerae canceled out her monster power as she jumped out of the way and made a run for the forest as the rocket was fired, the missile flew without much grace but impacted right on target. the shockwave sent Garnet on her butt as the trees nearby were destroyed, the heat was strong enough to almost hurt the skin despite the distance. all that was left, was a cloud of smoke followed by the smell of burnt wood and meat.
"Be careful with that! you could have killed us all!...Neare, is Nerae ok?!"- Garnet told Rosenda as she slowly got up from the ground, trying to look past the cloud of smoke.
"I'm...fine. Jesus Rosenda, next time you plan on unleashing hell at least let me know in advance! i think my eyelashes are completely burnt!" Neare said as she came through the smoke coughing
"Glad to see you are ok, although i knew you would make it. now...do you have everything you needed for the gate?"- Nova told Garnet, who was still baffled by the destruction.
"yes...we even got plenty of burnt wood now, so it wont be necessary to make a fire. Ready to go to Xibalba?"
Garnet took chunks of burnt wood and crumbled the flowers on top. she proceeded to slightly cut her hand and let the blood drip. For a second, nothing happened, but then everything began to burn, a pink pillar of flames that was as tall as some of the trees in the forest roared.
"Alright, now just walk into it!"- Garnet said as she jumped into the flames, disappearing entirely.

Rosenda hunkered down on her motorcycle when the shockwave came down. A few burning chunks of meat rained over her back, leaving smears of blood and char. A good sign. “Come on, the missile was aimed upwards! I shoot down helicopters with that all the time without hurting anybody. Although that was a bit lower than a helicopter.” She couldn’t see the fire, but she heard it blaze into life. “Yeah, just give me a sec.” Rosenda rummaged about in her motorcycle’s various pockets and boxes, selecting a few weapons to take along. “Wish my second husband was here, he could carry all my guns at once… here we go, these will do.” To the straps across her torso, Rosenda added two guns, one a painfully orange, oddly boxy SMG, the other a bizarre mish-mash of wires and tubes with a metal cannister sticking at an odd angle from the bottom. Without hesitating another second, she jumped right into the flames.
