One by one, everyone met in front of the entrance at the base of the mech’s foot. Ashlea and Amelia met right by the door, taking a step back when they realized the other was present. “Amelia? What are you doing here?” Ashlea asked, looking on with confusion. “I got a job running one of the games here, what are you doing here?” “I volunteered to help out with the petting zoo and animal showcase! Did you even look at that when you came in?” Ashlea asked, eyebrows slightly raised. “I’ve been in my booth all day, so no! Anyway, let’s catch up sometime that doesn’t involve a giant mechanical groundhog!” Amelia said, looking up at the towering mass of metal before them.
Seeing the group of people assembled, Ashlea jumped in front of the door and clapped her hands to get everyone’s attention. “Hello! Er, my name’s Ashlea, I volunteer at the petting zoo over there.” She motioned toward the general direction it was in. “I have no idea what’s going on here, but if you want to help resolve this mess, I’m going to try and direct this thing. If you have any concerns, feel free to talk to myself or my sister Amelia.” She motioned toward the other redhead, who gave a small wave. “And keep in mind that none of you have to do this, being attendees and all that. But if you want to try and help, it would be appreciated!” And with that, Ashlea stepped aside and motioned toward the door.
“...you want me to take point?” Amelia asked, giving Ashlea a sidelong glance. “You’re way stronger than me, of course I want you to go first! Got an issue with that?” “Nope.” Grabbing the door handle, Amelia flung it open and allowed the group to slowly file inside.
Once everyone had made their way in, the group would immediately notice the illogical geometry inside. The scenery was an expansive landscape of rolling hills...made out of what appeared to be chocolate chip cookies. The chocolate were the size of basketballs, yet wouldn’t be sticky if walked on. Several ‘trees’ with fluffy pink cotton candy leafs dotted the landscape, and several sculptures of groundhogs littered the landscape, made out of what appeared to be crackers.
Floating on top of a nearby clear river that fizzed with carbonation, the rebellious groundhog tipped down his sunglasses and began speaking, his voice echoing across the landscape. “Oi, you lot decided to entertain me, aye? Like what I did with the place? Pocket dimensions are top.” He stated, putting his sunglasses back on. “Well, what’d it be? Competition on who can make the best sculpture out of dough and whatever materials are around? Oooh, scavenger hunt to find me among all these wonderful copies of me?” Phil pondered this suggestion. “Or is that too similar to that no-good boot-toot bastard bunny’s schtick...ah well. You could also try to beat me in a race around the river, aye.” On cue, the raft Phil had been floating on turned into a jet ski dotted with colorful polka dots. “Unless youse got any other fun ideas, decide on which you want to do and form groups!” Suddenly, 2 other Phils appeared, one with a pair of metallic glasses and a black jacket on, the other simply holding a clipboard. “Race is with me, hunt’s with the clipboard me, and sculptures with artist me, savvy? Good, good.” And with that, the jetski Phil jumped on top of the handlebars, waiting for everyone to decide.
Ashlea looked on with disbelief. “Uh...how...ok.” The fire make took a breath to absorb the situation. “Anyone have any other ‘fun’ ideas for this guy?” Ashlea made finger quotes at ‘fun’. “If not, I’m going with the hunt. Amelia?” She asked, looking at her sister. Amelia’s expression was more excited than Ashlea’s. “This is so cool! I’m racing that groundhog on the jetski!” She announced. Ashlea nodded her head. “Anyone else? I doubt he’d care if nobody took the sculpture thing, but go for it if you want, I guess.”
Amelia grinned, looking at Sid and Mai. “You guys in on this with me?” She asked. Sid scratched the back of his head, looking at the strange contraption the groundhog was riding on. “Never driven one of those things, but seems cool.” Sid replied, kicking the pathway and sending several small chunks of cookie flying. So it really was just cookie after all? The three Phils sat by, waiting for the group to decide on what they wanted to do.
