"Can you remove poison? Whatever these things inject into their food, it's slowing me down." Eve limped forward, towards the strange creatures as more realized they could burst their ways through the walls. Thomas' shots put a hole in one trunk and its owner wailed and retreated back into is cover for safety. His other shots careened off the shells of the beasts as their trunks writhed. Alex's threads spread over the remaining paintings just in time as more of the bizarre creatures tried to break free of their containment and were trapped.
"Good work Alex! You too kid." Eve gave Thomas a thumbs up and stepped ahead of the others. "On second thought Leora, save that heal. I'll need it more soon." She raised her cannon and fired. One of the creatures was annihilated like a ceramic figure dashed on the floor, smashing sticky pieces all over the walls behind it. This left only two more as she stepped forward and grabbed another, slamming it into the wall as it plunged its mouth into her chest. "Finish the other and move! You can look at the bodies later, Alex!" She called as she crushed its trunk like she had the one grabbing her leg, leaving it to harmlessly wobble. Becky rushed forward, vaulting over the monster in her path to rush the end of the hallway.
"Hm. Well then... plan B is on." Huntsman seemed to speak to himself more than Arthur as the ice knight leaped over the backs of the swordsmen and attacked from behind. They seemed bizarrely vulnerable to the attack, two falling with no resistance while the other two kept marching obliviously forwards. Haruko's knives blew a hole at one's feet and they fell headlong, while the other had a leg blown away and toppled backwards. The sword of the one who merely tripped splashed in the blood of his fallen comrades. "The blood of friends is as good as foes for our blades." A deep voice called from behind the helmet as he stood and raised the blade high. The intricate designs of the sword filled in with red and something inscrutably complex inside shifted, delicate gears like those in a watch face.
The blade folded apart, the sides pealing away into a long, curved handguard to leave only a blade of regular proportions in the center. He spun with speed that his former movements didn't suggest in the slightest to whirl his blade at Arthur. The other three were leaning up, dipping their blades in their own blood and shoving their limbs back on. They stood less surely than the one already attempting to impale Arthur, but they stood regardless. The one who Haruko had struck seemed to bear a grudge, rushing directly for her with its huge blade poised to impale. "I will drink from you to heal what you've done... I must be whole for eternity!"
The other two approached more carefully, slowly feeling out the teenager and abomination they faced. "Arthur, you better stay alive over there! If it looks like you're dying, I'll give you this guy's blood and patch you right up!" Huntsman pointed at the vampire before him with a monstrous grin. "You would turn him against his will?" The warrior questioned, slowly budging into range. "No, but if he thinks I will, he keeps himself alive better without me. You have to be hard on these humans to make them useful." Huntsman unexpectedly lunged, the vampire narrowly dodging to only lose his helmet, displaying a pale face of surprise. "Now, let me kill you!"
Warden stood before a sarcophagus. It was broader than he was tall, taller than five on him stacked on end. It was finely carved, flawlessly detailing an ogre king in all his finery. Around Warden were dozens of acolytes, faces pressed to the white tile in reverence for the immortals they surrounded. All those who couldn't put up a fight were here. The mundane, the untrained, the infirm. Warden looked down at them all, calculating body mass. "My brothers and sisters! This could not be a more divine occasion! On the eve of our god's return, you will achieve ultimate purity!"
He spread his arms and a woman behind him, atop the sarcophagus, did the same. Her tanned skin contrasted with her thin white robe. Her fingers tightened around the ivory-hilted knife in her hand. Warden heard her heartbeat quicken. He didn't think she would back down. Her family was the most devoted of them all. Her sister was Ariana's mother after all. It was difficult to give more for the cult than that. But if she did falter... "The great immortals. The unchanging exemplars of our god. You... will become a part of us, and live as one in the eternal world to come. Fear not the pain, for it is fleeting, while happiness with be forever!" With these words, the woman on top of the sarcophagus plunged the knife into her throat and pulled it across.
The knife dropped from her hands, crimson drops ruining the perfect white of the room. She seemed more shocked by this than her dying body, even was she slowly slid to her knees. Blood soaked through her dress and dripped into a slit on top of the sarcophagus. Warden's gaze didn't flicker as she toppled over, falling from the mighty tomb to crack her head below. He slowly walked over as a deep rumbling like distant thunder began to fill the room. Her pulled her body from the path of the stone lid as it scraped open. Inside was an ogre, with the features expected as much. A garguantuan humanoid with elephantine skin, polydactyl hands and feet, a trunk, and huge, owl like eyes.
But it wasn't any ordinary ogre. He had skin that looked like it was carpeted in flour. His eyes were like the setting sun, pitiless orbs of fire fixing everything in the room without comprehension. Most disturbingly, his transformation so long ago had turned his short trunk into something entirely different. A sucking mouth with three serrated jaws converging in the center writhed at the end of something like a giant leech attached to his head. The cultists quaked, Warden could feel it through the floor. Even he felt uncomfortable before this being. This was something that had witnessed kingdoms only he was now privy too, lived through years he could not count, watched as Egypt grew and gained the concept of things built for permanence, when all he had known before were fleeting mortal lives and tents. It was too close to Warden himself for comfort. There was enough of him with only one.
"The time approaches?" He grumbled in a language that had not passed lips other than his or Warden's since before Ur rose in Mesopotamia. "Yes. As expected, people are trying to stop us. You need to regain your strength, and I need to grow. They will provide what we need." Warden's hand sank into the first sacrifice's body and dug through it like roots. He gently took a nearby child's face in his hands and began to do the same to them, mercifully annihilating the brain before his roots spread far. "I told them the robes are a waste. They soak up my blood." The vampire grumbled as he plucked a man off the ground, disrobing him with the dispassion of a child undressing their barbie doll and latching onto him with his horrid sucker.
They were all terrified now as the ogre systematically moved through the crowd, stripping and draining humans, impaling them on fingers, wrapping them in his horrible sucking trunk, impaling them on canines and incisors the size of stalactites. Even as Warden smelled piss, the most clear stench of fear there was, they all remained perfectly still as they were drained and absorbed, one by one until the room only contained two beings. Empty white robes lay still on the floor, a sign there once were people here willing to provide a feast for the gods. Warden contemplated them for a moment. The ogre didn't seem to notice them at all as he walked out to see the little girl who would free their god. Warden examined the bloodstained robe again for a moment, then followed. It was all worth it. This was nothing compared to what was to come.

Arthur was feeling good with how easily they were taking down the barrier men. Perhaps that made him overconfident. The vampire's sudden burst of speed caught him off guard. He twisted his body and managed to avoid getting cleaved in half, but when he wanted to launch a counterattack he quickly realized that he couldn't move one of his arms. Annoyingly, the vampire's attack was more successful than Arthur thought. Huntsman's comment wasn't helping.
"Your offer makes me more worried, you know. I can patch myself up when these bastards go down."
When they absorbed the blood, the creatures seemed to gain sentience. At least, that's what it looked like to Loveline. After staring down the vampire who was eyeing, Loveline ran at him with sharp draconic claws instead of hands. When she got close enough, she jumped on top of him, aiming at where its eyes should be.
While the illusory Loveline distracted the thing with that attack, the real loveline ran past it and slashed at the Achelles tendons of the vampire facing Arthur and then tried to pull the vampire so it would fall on its back. If she succeeded, Arthur would replace the sword in his working hand with an icy spiked mallet to crush its head.

The young priest felt his courage to grow up as well did his confidence, he went into position. Creating again a new layer of pentagrams to protect his body, even if that would suck a bit of his own energy, but that didn't matter. Fullfill the mission was the most important thing right now: "Save the girl, Chloe can take care of your wounds later" as he said that to himself. Chloe walked close to him, she managed to analize everyhing that could threat her company.
It's okay, Chloe, everything is cool - The boy patted her head gently, with his juvenil and calm tone.
Being locked up in this form feels unconvenient for me - Her voice escaped with a frustrated sigh, as it echoed in the hallways.
So worried that you don't use telepathy? - The boy chuckled a little
The wolf just growled back

Haruko watched as the vampires absorbed the blood of their allies into the blades, revealing the smaller forms beneath the bulky exterior. While they transformed, Haruko reached into her jacket pocket and pulled a small knife with a nearly invisible string attached to a spool in her jacket. "Must be whole, huh? Thanks for the idea." And with that, Haruko ducks her head down to avoid the stab, her body then weaving with unnatural flexibility upward and beginning to weave the wire around the vampire's body, her skills as a master seamstress allowing her to weave her string around the vampire's body easily. First she wrapped it around his neck, then his right forearm. "Haven't done this in a while. Sorry about this!" And with that, Haruko pressed a button inside of her jacket that separated the string from the spool, and and proceeded to pull both ends tightly. The wire was sharpened to an unnatural razor edge that would cut through skin and bone like butter. The seamstress hoped to sever his head and arm, effectively making the vampire helpless.
While she attacked the vampire in front of her, she began to take stock of their environment. How can I use this hallway to my advantage without hurting the others...? I can't just start placing razor wire traps. She thought to herself.

"Nonsense, if you're hurt, then I will heal you now. It shouldn't take me more then a second." -Though poison can be a bit tricky- she thought to herself. Leora reaches her hand towards Eve and takes a deep breath as she tries to calm herself down. She closes her eyes for a moment as she allows her supernatural senses to take over. For a brief instance the entire world appears to go completely dark to her, with the exception of Eve.
The vessel of Compassion's body gradually begins to glow bright blue, meanwhile Eve's body appears to Leora to glow a deep purple. When her fingers extend towards Eve's chest, the blueish light expels quickly from her finger tips. The blueish aura soon disappears as the energy is release and being absorb by the Wild Hunt Leader's body. From her perspective, the dark purple light inside Eve's body is starting to mix with the blue light. Should her healing work, the blue should soon enough stop mixing, and begin to consume the purple instead. "There, that should do it," Leora said with a small smile as she continues to run down the hallway.
The gruesome hunter is a bit disappointed that he has to end his observation sooner then he would like, but he still couldn't help smirking as he can't wait to find what other interesting creatures he will encounter the closer they get to their target. He continues to manipulate the wire threads to help protect his team, and prevent more monsters from getting in their way. He takes a moment to examine the young priest. Alex's curiosity for the lad continues to grow, yet he remains silent. He figures he can ask his questions later when they aren't dealing with something trying to kill them.

Eve followed the group when she saw them all getting through, taking more stabs on her way through. The instant she staggered through the other end of the hallway, Becky lashed out multiple strands of her hair and ripped down the door frame. The ceiling sagged, then collapsed like a slit stomach spilling its contents. A heap of debris fell to clog the hallway, angry chattering audible behind it. Eve collapsed against a wall, nursing her leg. "Alright, now." Eve held still and closed her eyes. Often healing hurt as much as getting the injuries, if not more. She had turned off most of her nerve endings to avoid the pain of transformation, so averse to the feeling was she.
However, instead of the pain of venom being purged from her body, she felt the opposite. Utter relaxation touched every muscle fiber as it passed through her in a wave. The numbness of the poison went without so much as a tingle left in its place. "Thank you, Leora." Eve properly stood and put a hand on Leora's shoulder. "Keep that up and we'll be good." Eve was already calculating how much more aggressive she could afford to be with a healer like this on the wings.
She gave the wolf a glance when it talked. "Hey, keep it up. I want full communication. It's important we make a unit here." Eve said as she lead them down the hallway again. Nothing changed about it physically as they took it step by step, but a feeling of foreboding grew as the approached the stairs now clear at the end. The white paint on these walls covered up buckets of blood. Eve thought she could smell it as she stepped up to the edge of the stairs. She looked down, not into darkness but normal, brightly lit stairs. Her sight was cut off not by fading light but the height of the ceiling.
"I want to make one thing very clear." She spoke without turning, addressing the whole group. "This is the final stretch. If any of you are hurt or caught, I will not help you. Do the same for me. Becky, that is an order. Alex, I know that I'm not your boss, but I ask this as your friend. None of our lives matter the moment we reach the bottom of these stairs." Becky nodded with wide eyes. She was always pasty, but her face was so pale now she looked like she truly belonged to this house.
"And kid. I don't really know you, but know that the same goes for you. And if you get the chance to take the shot, you have to put a bullet in Ariana's skull. I don't give a damn what your conscience says. I want you to promise me you'll kill her. Promise or you won't come down these stairs with us. You must have an iron will for what lies ahead, boy." Eve's voice grew more sinister with each word until she was hissing the last. She did not wish to play the villain, but what choice did she have when the life of the world was incompatible with that of her sister?
The vampire that faced Arthur advanced, swinging his blade in wide arcs. He sought to corner and decapitate Arthur, but Loveline's attack stopped him. He shrieked when his ankle was slashed open, tumbling backwards easily with a little help. He tilted his head up and saw Arthur's hammer coming down, rolling just in time to make the attack smash through the floorboards instead of his skull. "Brother, what you face is false!" He cried to the vampire who was fighting Loveline, who turned away from the illusion to see the real deal. He stepped in with a massive thrust, seeking to swiftly impale her. The vampire with the cut tendon was already standing, Foot sealing up like a time-lapse of a scar healing. He stepped back, less aggressive now, and swung his sword, trying to keep Arthur at the edge of his superior range.
The pale one fighting Haruko was not so quick, due to her former injuries. "You can't just dodge around forever! Wait, what's-" She noticed the string just a second before it tautened. The wires sank in, squeezing her neck and releasing a spray of blood from her arm. "You- gheck- you can't harm me further before eternity!" Eyes bulging, lips peeled away from sharp fangs, she yanked hard with her caught arm, hoping to pull Haruko close. The force let the wires tighten further, and her arm fell away, but her eyes were bright in a mad grin as she reached out to grab Haruko and pull her to her fangs.
Huntsman and his foe spun tightly around a shared center, a deadly dance that marked them both with injuries. The vampire sported small cuts all over where Huntsman's reckless attacks had passed through his guard. Huntsman had deep, lethal slashes and missing limbs that were healing back where he had simply not bothered defending. His ideals of attrition seemed clear. He had the vampire caught in a losing battle unless he could get some blood.
The vampire's thoughts were preoccupied with this as Huntsman inexplicably backed away. "Do you wish to flee? I will not stop you if you do." He didn't believe he truly did, and this intuition turned out to be correct. Huntsman grew dozens of blisters on his skin, growing and growing and multiplying until he was a mass of warts that looked more infectious than a bag of used needles covered in human feces. The vampire only understood the attack when the skin peeled away.
Bioluminescent dots coated Huntsman's whole body, little burning stars on every inch. The vampire twitched, and smoke began to curl from his skin. He squinted to the point of near blindness, but it was no good. The light still hurt. It was nothing like the light of the sun, but it was agonizing regardless. So this was the sort of monster the lead the cult. "Very well then. Take me if you must! It is no shame to fall in battle to a superior opponent!" His eyes closed and he held his sword at the ready. He would hear the monster charging and attack as he did.

The blood that sprayed out of the vampire's arm made Haruko breathe a sigh of relief, seeing that there wasn't some strange durability to these people. However, the fangs that emerged from the vampire's mouth made Haruko frown with determination, preparing to deal with whatever the strange creature would do. When the vampire yanked her arm to pull Haruko closer, the seamstress passed the string in her left hand into her right and pulled to tighten the slack that was created when the vampire's arm fell to the ground. "Here, got something else for you!" Haruko states as she reaches into her jacket and pulls out a strange red knife. The seamstress uses the forward momentum from the pull to drive the knife into the vampire's right eye and roll across the ground, quickly getting back up and pressing the button on her spool to separate the string attached to the red knife.
"Sorry again, but I have no other choice!" And with that, Haruko pulls out a lighter from her coat and lights the end of the string in her hands. The fuse would quickly travel through the object and into the red knife lodged into the vampire's eye, setting alight the incendiary powder inside and making the knife burst into a brilliant orange flame. Haruko hoped it would spread quick enough that the entire vampire's body would be engulfed before the others could help their comrade.

"Good try, Love. Appreciate it. But I'll handle this guy on my own, you deal with the other guy." Arthur said, to which Loveline nodded.
Loveline tried jumping back to avoid the vampire's blade, but the tip still hit her in the chest. It didn't go deep enough to pierce her ribs, but she still it her lip to muffle a pained scream. She took a step back before the vampire could impale her and finish the job, then she split into two, coming at the vampire from both sides with their hands both turned into dragon paws with sharp claws. "Bet you can't guess which one I am!" the spoke in unisons. The sound also seemed to originate from both of their mouths and they smelled the same so it was impossible to tell which one she was by sight, sound or smell.
Of course, Loveline wasn't foolish. A horizontal sweep could hit both. Which is why she was invisible, running close to the ground with all her limbs transformed into those of a dog. If she managed to get close enough, one of her front legs would grow a long bony spike which she would try shoving through a gap between the vampire's helmet and chestplate and right into its brain.
Meanwhile, Arthur jumped back with greater seed, avoiding the vampire's slashes, but unable to get in close. Suddenly a wall of ice appeared for the vampire's blade to strike it. It didn't stop there, however. It tried spreading and engulfing the blade, if only for a short while so Arthur could get close enough to retaliate. If it succeeded, Arthur would rush in from the monster's left to pierce it with ice swords.

In the moment Eve's words became into knifes stabbing his heart, the boy contained his breath for a little. Feeling how his eyes began to hurt as the point that some tears tried to escape from his body made him feel weak, he knew that not everything could be saved, he knew that from the very beginning... but his heart told him to have hope. His body tensed up as he tried to remain calm, his eyebrows frowned as he helded his guns. A white light appeared in his hands as he felt the stokes burning his hands by his grip. After a few seconds it dissapeared as well his heart calmed down a little bit.
I can - His voice almost growled, the feeling of weakness made him recognize that he had orders, if there wasn't any other ways he had to do the plan Z, ZabÃt (Killing).
Chloe positioned herself in front of the boy again, facing Eve - There's nothing to talk with me, your priority is this mission, mine is this kid. If he orders me to fight for your sake, I'll do that.
The boy clicked his tongue. As his face began to slowly look down, letting out a sight. He went close to the edge of the stairs as he noticed the smell of the blood, what an odd feeling. He remembered those days in Austria, when he became an apprentice. The smell of the taken lifes by the vampires, his heart flinched at the moment he remembered how his older brother had to die or otherwise he'll become one of them. No matter how much he tried to deny it, there was no other choice. He was once again in that situation...

The vessel of Compassion's smile gets slightly bigger as Eve thanks her, yet if the Wild Hunter Leader looks carefully enough she could perceive the small lines of sweat dripping from Leora's forehead. "You're very welcome Eve." In the back of her mind she hopes that Eve doesn't expect she could do that consistently. Even though her healing powers can be especially potent, they also can be extremely taxing on her. A few times when she has tried to heal people who were on the brink of death, she had ended up fainting during the process and been stuck in a coma for a few days. Only to wake up to find out that the person that she has tried to save had died.
After Eve gives her speech, Leora looks at her with a surprising angry, yet fierce, look of determination. "I'm going to do my best to make sure no one is going to die. That includes Ariana." She looks at the others when she said this. "I know you guys don't know me, and though I may not look like it, I can be pretty stubborn," she finished with a foxy smile as if challenging the group to question her stubbornness. "And I'm not going to give up on trying to find a way to save that little girl. I wish you guys will have the courage to do the right thing, but I also wish that you guys will have the hope to find a way to save Ariana as well."
Alex couldn't hold back. He begins to chuckle deep within his throat, making a rather creepy and off-putting noise, which soon echoes though the hallway. He carefully tries his best to hold back from laughing anymore as he didn't want to give away their position to any nearby enemies waiting to ambush them. -What a Fool.- he thought to himself. From what he has gathered there is no hope to save this child from her fate. "The only right thing to do here is to save ourselves and the rest of the world by killing her. Heck, I'm sure killing the kid is probably the best way to save her as well. That way she can avoid the suffering of trans-" The gruesome hunter was cut of by the sound of Leora slapping herself in the face with both hands.
-Damn, this really isn't a dream,- Leora told herself as she could still feel the stinging pain of her slap. "Well, I can't wait until I proof you wrong," she said confidently. The gruesome hunter's face slowly begins to morph into a look of pure confusion. "I unusual don't work with people crazier then myself." "Is it really that crazy to think positive?" she asked with a raise eyebrow and a half smile.

"Leora, if you stop somebody from taking the shot, I will find a way through your little bubble of joy and snap your neck, so at least you'll die before the rest of us." Eve growled behind her as she took the first step. She had sent a message to Huntsman, but she had no idea if it got through. Every footstep was a dull thud on the stairs as the descended, loud in Eve's years. There was barely more than a dozen, but it felt like an hour before their feet touched white tile. He was there. A mound of flesh in the center of the room, towering tall. Only his human face remained, as stoic as ever at the peak of the mountain. He hunched, body rooted to the floor with thick tentacles, cracking through the tile. More tentacles waved, tipped with various tools of destruction.
Eve hesitated on the lip of the wide room. "He's got Ariana inside him... the cold will weaken him. ...hold on, something's not right." She hesitated another second before lunging to the side. A white shadow slammed to the ground where she had stood. "Your daughter has swift reflexes." He casually mentioned to Warden as he reached his hand for Alex and Thomas, seeking to impale them on his fingers. His eyes seemed to swirl and eddy, sapping the will of anybody who looked into them. "Don't... struggle. Submit... to eternity. What does the mortal mind crave more than peace, after all?"
"It doesn't matter which one you are! Die!" The vampire swung his blade through the two illusory Lovelines. He hesitated just a second when they remained intact, leaving him open for Love's stab. It plunged right through his brain, stabbing through the mesh that guarded his face. He shuddered and fell to his knees, ripping the spike out of his brain. "...like I said... it doesn't matter!" With one hand, he swung his massive blade behind himself. He threw his helmet off to allow his remaining eye better sight, showing a gaping hole through his head. His brain dripped even as it slowly closed. Not far away, a massive sword bounced off a growing ice wall. Ice began to grip it, holding it tight. Arthur's stab glanced off the breastplate, leaving him vulnerable as the vampire released his sword to grab at Arthur, attempting to smash him into the ice until it was broken away.
The vampire Haruko faced was no more inconvenienced than the one fighting Loveline by the stab to the brain she suffered, just swearing up a storm as she tried to pull it out. "My eye! My fucking eye! I need to recover... I need your blood!" She didn't work it free of her eye socket before it lit up, instantly igniting her face and remaining eye. The flames quickly spread over her body and she screamed, stumbling backwards. "No... no! I need to heal! I need to heaaaaaal!" She lunged for Haruko, trying to bring her neck to her burning jaws.
"Aim for the heart or decapitate them, you dipshits! Haruko has the right idea with incineration!" Huntsman relaxed unexpectedly instead of leaping for the vampire. His pocket squeezed and a phone flew into his hand, quickly opening it to check on a message from Eve. "Fuck! Ariana's in the basement! Everybody through the hole Haruko made!" He lunged over his opponent but was tackled from behind immediately. "I will not let you advance!" "You can't stop me!" Huntsman snarled and trashed. His arm bones all snapped, letting his arms stretch to the lip of the hole and drag them in. "Everybody get going! We're going to need more holes, Haruko!"

The female vampire's hellish screams made Haruko wince slightly at the ear-piercing sound. She never enjoyed attacking people...her motivations for taking the occasional mission were to capture people, not kill them. The predictable flailing of the vampire's charge allowed Haruko to leap backwards and throw a single explosive knife at the female vampire's legs, trying to quicken the process of dying. When she heard Huntsman calling out to her, Haruko looked at the hole in floor she had made, then at everyone else. "But..." Her mind raced between the thoughts of helping the others and listening to the shapeshifter. If they ran away, wouldn't the rest of these vampires chase them? Could her explosive knives make a hole to the basement?
"I'll try to make a path! Try to keep them off me!" Haruko called out to the others. Reaching into her jacket pocket, Haruko took out 10 explosive knives and leaped down the hole in floor she had made. She then tossed 5 of the knives in quick succession to try and make a hole in the floor she stood on, then proceeding to tunnel her way through the one below. The loud explosions of her knives were jarring for Haruko to hear with this frequency...especially with the horrible headache she was dealing with. Hopefully this mission can be over soon... Haruko thought to herself.

Loveline sidestepped the vampire's backwards swing. She wasn't really the cutting type and she couldn't stab through his breastplate. Luckily, Haruko managed to make them an escape hatch.
"Well, nice dealing with you. I'll be going now!" Loveline made a mad dash for Haruko's hole. She focused her illusions on making herself invisible to the vampire she was fighting.
The vampire's armor wasn't just for show, as Arthur found out when his sword didn't even put a dent in it. While he recoiled, the vampire caught him by the neck and slammed him into his ice wall twice and he was going to going for a third time, but the wall shattered before he could connect. The shards were large, round and with sharp edges. The started spinning like buzzsaws and tried cut off the vampire's arms to free Arthur while the ice mage created an ice sword and tried cutting off its head.
He didn't even pay attention to whether he managed to decapitate it or not, instead Arthur ran towards the exit while hurling occasional ice shards at the vampires to distract and slow them down. "Don't call my daughter a dipshit, you bastard! Especially if you couldn't kill your opponent either. Now just get through and I'll patch up the holes with ice!"

Bloody hell... - The boy whispered at the sight of the wide room, as he saw the creature, it didn't look like a demon, it was like a fricking nightmare!
Chloe positioned herself in front of Thomas - Don't look at it! - She ordered, her anger was rising from the tip of her paws to her whole body. Getting ready to fight again, she wouldn't let this monster to take away the child. The boy felt a drop of sweat came down from his face, trying to avoid eye contact he remained still, waiting for the Iron Maiden's orders. For a few moment, he was about to undo Chloe's spell but he bited his tongue, it wasn't good to let her change her form now... otherwise she'll do what she thought what would be better for themselves and not everyone else.

The vessel of compassion couldn't help but frown as the larger woman towering over her is threatening to kill her if she tries to intervene. "Violence isn't always the answer to a problem, Eve." She spoke softly, disappointed with herself as she already knew she couldn't convince Eve. Yet the look in Leora's eyes shows no fear to the threat she had just received. As the group makes their way up the stairs, she could begin to feel Ariana's presence up ahead. For a moment her heart stopped. Time itself appear to be frozen as her foot touches the last step before reaching the top of the staircase. "Warden . . ." she whispered to herself as she could now see the gigantic pile of flesh waiting for their arrival.
Leora begins to walk forward, ignoring the white shadow assaulting her allies. As she approaches Warden, she couldn't bring herself to smile. Once she gets close enough to ensure that Warden can hear her, she takes a second to clear her throat before saying, "Please. I need to know one thing before we proceed. After everything we, no . . . after everything you two have been through together . . . is this really the only way for you to achieve the ending you are trying so desperately to accomplish? I would do everything I can to save Ariana, I hope you know that. But-" Leora begins to clutch her hands. "-if you are simply using Ariana, and you are not doing this for her sake, then I will save her by myself if need be."
Alex did not have much time to appreciate Warden's form, as he creates a wire thread shield in the shape of half a dome to protect himself from the sudden attack of an enemy. The gruesome hunter takes a few steps back as he tries to create some distance so that he could better analyze his new opponent. Yet, he quickly realized the mistake too soon. As he studies his opponent, he quickly begins to feel strange as he looks into the white shadow's eyes. Slowly his body begin to feel comfortable warm, while his eyelids gradually begin to feel heavy. His fighting stance vanishes and is replace by him casually standing still. Unable to look away from his opponent's eyes.

As Alex stared at the empty orbs of the ancient ogre, he would start to see things. Dark shapes moved in the orbs as it leaned forward. Alex would see old friends, old goals, a normal life, not corrupted by bloodshed and misery, all dancing just beyond the veil. The ogre's fingertip curled over the dome and with a mere twitch tore it like a couple of stray threads. It kept coming, ready to plunge into Alex's chest. However, just as it drew back just the slightest bit to impale him, a thunderous roar came and the finger snapped 90 degrees sideways. The great orbs turned away to see Eve, cannon smoking. He said nothing as the finger snapped back to normal and healed in an instant.
"FOR FUCK'S SAKE ALEX! GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND CUT WARDEN APART!" Eve shook gunpowder down her cannon again and slid another ball down its throat. "Ah, right. She can't harm you or the avatar. There is little she can do to me as well. The humans are the real threats." He looked back at the humans and singular angel to pick through them, but Becky took her chance. Her hair went jet black as darkness spread through it. She lashed a few strands around the ancient's finger and flicked herself forward. For a second she stood on the monster's shoulder, but she was springing off before he could grab her with his trunk, off to attack Warden.
"Good job Becky! Try to get him from different angles, he only has so much brainpower to handle multiple limbs!" Eve ordered, thinking of targets. Any injury she inflicted wouldn't last long. This was an ancient vampire, fed to bursting. He would regenerate from nearly anything they did to him so long as he had this much blood in him. She had to attack at the right moments. Only shoot when it helped the others.
Warden's gloomy visage turned down to Leora. He stared at her a long while, seeming to mull over his words like he was chewing cud. "Yes, Leora, this is the only way. I don't want to destroy this universe any more than you. Look up, Leora." A nearly skeletal arm shoved its way out of his dough-like form to point above. When Leora looked, she would see ovals up near the ceiling, showing scenes that confused and maddened the eye. A world where visible song left trails of fire. Stone pillars expanding and contracting like lungs. A kaleidoscopic landscape humming with energy, patterns moving like living beings.
"Those are the realms of the demon gods. Just a few of the thousands I will open when the time comes. The Bringer of Winter... do you know how she is the most destructive of all the demon gods? She does not destroy universes through power, but by breaking the very fabric of reality. Cold beyond cold until all movement stops and can never start again. Demon Gods are living universes. They simply break off fragments to manifest in other universes, tiny crumbs of their true being. Killing these fragments will never diminish the true being. This is the only way I can destroy them forever. A plan a billion years in the making, completed at last."
A hole opened in Warden's side, showing a golden orb. It was ornately carved all over, circles overlapping circles. If Leora looked close, she might recognize that the carvings were actually magnificently complex controls. "I regret nothing, Leora. Not a single thing I have done in the past one billion, thirty million, four and seventy four thousand, two hundred and seventy years draws one iota of pain from me because it was all to prevent further pain. With the Demon Gods gone, countless trillions will live in peace." His flesh sealed up once more and a portal appeared behind Leora, showing a hillside like the one she had stood on before walking down to the House of Eternity. "That's another universe, identical to our own except that I never stepped foot into it. I want you to live." A tendril reached out, attempting to gently push Leora through. "When this is all done, I will join you."
The burning vampire's feet were blown clean off and she screamed as she fell to the ground. "Whole... whole..." She gasped as her body began turning to ash. Haruko wasn't there to hear, jumping down to meet Huntsman, still wrestling with his own nemesis. A guillotine-shaped blade sprang from his forearm and he dropped forward. The surprised vampire had lost his head before he could react. "Heh... you put up a good fight there. Out of respect, I won't leave you like that." The vampire's head gaped angrily, still alive and showing no signs of ceasing to be so. Huntsman lifted the body's arm and thrust a long claw in.
The heart was popped like a balloon, blood gushing from the wound. The body withered as it lost blood, the head going with it despite its lack of attachment. "Looks like these guys turned recently. An old vampire can survive that." Huntsman remarked as the vampire continued to shrivel until its detached skull looked like a shrunken head. "...I'm keeping this." Huntsman rolled the head down the hallway to a safe corner to be picked up later.
The vampire facing Arthur didn't release Arthur when the ice shattered, stumbling for a moment as his momentum wasn't stopped on a solid object. The buzzsaws caught him off balance, grinding right through his limbs. He screamed in anger and pain, stumbling back as his neck was attacked. The sword glanced off his armor again, but the extra flourish wasn't needed. He fell over backwards as Arthur ran, unable to catch himself. His last compatriot was similarly toppled by the momentum of the ice shards, knocking him flat with sheer force even if his armor held up. The bloodthirsty warriors were left alone when Arthur's ice cap stopped their progress.
Haruko's knives went off, turning the floor into a rain of debris for the room below. Huntsman flattened out to glide down, taking advantage of the ample space in the cavernous room to swoop around and take aim. The ancient vampire turned his sun-like eyes towards the newcomers with the same blank apathy as everything else. He didn't seem to notice as Huntsman steered towards him and folded his wings to turn his descent into a high-speed dive bomb. He only revealed his attention when with a casual backhand, Huntsman was sent sprawling across the tile over a hundred feet from the ogre. He partially turned back to the humans near him before seeing the object stuck in his hand.
Huntsman's spiny head, resembling a crimson thistle, had broken off. The vampire held his hand up to his face just in time for it to violently explode. Shrapnel tore through his eye, splattering it messily over his face. Spin and some muscle were stripped away on his enormous hand, revealing sinew and bone beneath. But even as it was made, it was regrowing. A new eye rolled in from his skull and inflated to fill the position of the old. "Interesting." He remarked, watching Huntsman stand. "What took you so long?" Eve didn't smile. "Oh, you know. I had to think of a properly spectacular entrance." Huntsman did smile, and his smile was full of fangs.

Haruko watched as Huntsman flew down to the ground below, her keen seamstress eyes clearly seeing the shapeshifter get smacked by the strange hulking being that looked to be...either an ogre or troll. The rapid recovery showed the seamstress that it had the same powers as the vampires they had just fought...meaning her wires and knives will be even less effective here. Giving a quick glance around the room, Haruko saw the rest of the team who they met at the start of the mission...and in the center of the room, Leora stood next to a horrific monster that had Warden's face. "What is he doing down there..." Haruko muttered to herself. Arthur would probably join them in a few seconds, and Huntsman had already given away their position...if the hole in the ceiling didn't already do that. She frowned in determination as she stood up, clutching the gem attached to her necklace.
Leaping off the ledge, Haruko began to fall toward the ground as the stone began to shine a brilliant pink, quickly engulfing her entire body. Her body stretched to around 6 feet tall, limbs elongating with a sparkling pink aura. A sleeveless black dress formed around her body, the bottom patterned with dark pink lace. A pair of long white gloves appeared on her arms, extending past her elbows, the gloves lined with small pink and gold gemstones that sparkled in the light coming from above. A pair of long white boots materialized on her feet, reaching past her knees and sporting pink laces along the front, the white color seeming to shine despite the low amount of light. Finally, Haruko's hair grew down to her lower back just as a simple black headset materialized on her head. The light around her body finally disappeared to reveal her gem girl form; Opal Song.
The seamstress gracefully glided down the massive cavern, locking eyes upon Warden. She floated a foot off the ground when getting within speaking distance with Warden. "I am going to assume you are...Warden?" She asks. The strange monstrosity in front of her was unsettling, but now wasn't the time to back down. "I don't wish to fight you, but I also can't let you destroy this universe." Her eyes were fixed upon Warden, ready to form magical constructs at the slightest hint of an attack. "So I'll ask you once. Let us have Ariana, and help stop this demon god from freezing our universe." She demands.

Loveline landed on the ground with a roll, just as Huntsman's head exploded in the face of a giant ogre. Taking in her surroundings, she saw the other party already there along with a mound of flesh with Warden's face on it. It looks like they managed to get here before Ariana turned into a demon good. So there was still time! They could find a way to stop this!
"Warden! Where's Ariana? Let my friend go!" she yelled as Arthur landed next to her.
"You bastard. I liked you. I thought you cared about Ariana. But she's nothing but a means to an end to you? Stop this, Warden, and I might give you a quick death." Arthur's words were filed with cold rage, almost as cold as the twin ice swords appearing in his hands.

The young boy kept his eyes closed, if he looked at the monster his mind would probably end like Alex's. He knew his mind was weak but his heart wouldn't let such a thing happen or all the work done in the past years would be lost. Reloading his guns the boy began to shot at the joints, trying to slow their moves. Once he calculated enough time to take distance, the boy took his holy water bottle, without being sure if it'll affect Warden, the boy threw it.
Miss Harper, what can I do to defeat this demon? - The boy looked at her with high expectations.
The wolf by other part acted on her own, as she began to absorb the sound in her surroundings the white fur began to turn darker as the eyes that once were purple began to turn a fierce red. In the moment the bark was launched the floor began to tremble.
Chloe Wait! - Thomas tried to order but it was too late, without a plan he wouldn't take risky actions - The girl is inside him! What if you kill her?!? - The boy hesitated, he let out a small pray for the girl's sake, hoping for Gog to listen and keep her strong until she was rescued.

Alex was snapped out of his stupor by Eve's yell. Instantly, he felt like he had lost something. The world in the vampire's eyes felt more real than the cold crypt he stood in. Alex thought he had forgotten this feeling, the desire for a normal life. But one taste of everything he couldn't have and he felt like his own wires were wrapped around his heart. His bulging eyes hovered on the vampire, barely avoiding those seductive orbs. I want to see it again. He realized. His rational brain quickly moved to defend himself from the temptation. With the skill of a virtuoso, his fingers commanded His wires to cross around him in a complex pattern.
In the blink of an eye, Alex was defended by a dome over his head, rooted deep in the ground. While it looked like a simple dome on the surface, a closer inspection would reveal Alex's true brilliance. It was a carefully constructed pattern of hexagons like a beehive, vastly stronger than a simple solid dome. Through a few hexagons left with no wire over them, he could see the vampire's vast white form. With a target this massive, he could afford a limited view, as much as it pained him to be unable to observe. Hopefully it would leave a body to admire.
Wires spooled together to make knives, just like his wire javelins but downsized greatly. They traded penetrating power for speed of creation and fittign through the holes he had made. He drew back and threw them, knife after knife. The all pierced to an extent, small holes peppering the vampire. The titanic figure looked down at the dome and crouched, reaching a hand up into the air. His palm came down. Eve yelled out. The room shook and the tile cracked and bounced around the dome. The ogre raised his palm to find the dome still there. Dented, but intact. "You're a talented little thing. I appreciate your striving for permanence." He crooned through the dome. "I will let what remains of it last forever. It is beautiful in its own way." He stood and turned back to Eve.
Eve spared a glance for Thomas, whose shots seemed to bother the vampire less than Alex's knives. "...shit, this is gonna suck. Huntsman! Get this to the kid!" She backed away from the vampire as her chest split open. He followed, vast strides closing the distance rapidly. From a hole in her armor dropped a yellow grenade. "Everybody close your damn eyes and cover your ears or you're gonna lose them!" Eve threw the grenade right at the monster's head. He at least obeyed her orders and guarded his face, but it did him little good when it went off. There was a bang that put her cannon to shame and a burst of light that made looking at the sun seem good for the eyes. The vampire stumbled blind, eyelids bunt off and skin blistered.
"Yeah, thought that'd do something. He won't let us get away with that again." Eve said as Huntsman scuttled up next to her. She grabbed the bolts on the corners of her chest and twisted. Her internal armor fell open with a clang, revealing inhuman organs and a boxy device. Eve wrenched the device free, separating a strand of flesh from her body to give it a strap before handing it to Huntsman. For once, he didn't talk back, just nodding and scurrying to Thomas' side. "Here." He roughly thrust the box into the young priest's hands. "Pull these triggers here to get a grenade." He gestured to three unlabeled triggers on the bottom of the device, right below the gaping hole. "Red releases corrosive gas, blue makes some nasty fire. You keep both of those far away from me and all over Warden. Yellow does what Eve just did, so get the vampire with them. And if any of these hurt me, I'll make you eat one." Huntsman quickly explained before flying back at the vampire, just recovering and glaring at Eve.
Warden looked at his new threat, but he already have many enemies right in front of him. Chloe's bark blew through his sort form, cracking bones inside. He lashed out a tendril that swiftly grew spongy material to envelop her in a soundproof cloud of mush. Leora pushed back on the tentacle gently guiding her to the portal behind. "Warden, please! Do you really expect to rest easy with the blood of trillions on your hands? With Ariana's blood?" She pushed a wave of peace through him and he slowly blinked. He looked far off for a second before his expression came back. "I already do. This is just the last time I must let it happen." With a final shove, he thrust Leora through the portal. She fell to her back, driving the wind out of her for the first time in millennia of her personal time. She gasped and shuddered, rolling over and pushing herself to her hands and knees. The portal was already closed.
Warden turned his full attention to Arthur and Haruko. "You can't see the bigger picture. You're too limited in time and space. Ariana doesn't matter! This universe doesn't matter! I save numbers uncountable today!" Dozens of barbed, whip-like tendrils sprouted from his front and lashed down at Haruko to tear her to confetti. Tendrils merely barbed at the end like harpoons shot for Loveline and Thomas' torsos to impale them. Dials were fiddled on the orb in his innards and portals opened around Arthur. Burning streams of song, glorious and horrible, came pouring forth and attempted to wrap around him. Notes of fire floated freely to burn him to ash. It was risky to open portals to her dimension, but Arthur's power was truly threatening.
The neglected target landed on his head, just too quick for the tendril that shattered a whole row of tiles behind her. Waves of oily black hair invaded his facial orifices. His eyes were destroyed instantly, his nose and mouth filled. It would had been brilliant, a sure-fire killing blow, had he followed any conventional biology. Something inside of him grabbed the hair and began pulling. Becky's head began to pull down inexorably towards his now-combined facial hole, new eyes staring up at her in a ring around it. She pulled back, but she could barely slow the rate it swallowed her hair. Something within it bit him, injecting venom. Again, a wise move for something that could be killed. Becky began to scream as her ear touched Warden's lips.
"GILGAMESH!" She yelled, and in that second she was freed. Warden had a difficult time grasping just what had happened as he slurped down the remaining hair, already reprocessing the keratin internally. Becky's escape was unimportant with what now loomed over him. Something serpentine in back but with two short, webbed limbs slapping the ground in an angry display of clumsiness. It was like a horrid fish-dragon seal, two heads with scales alternating swamp green and midnight blue snapping at Warden, ripping off chunks not to eat but merely to throw aside with great enough force to slam them through pillars and bystanders with the misfortune of getting in the way.
Horns topping one head plunged right through his body and Warden felt a trickle of fear. This thing could easily kill Ariana in its wrath. All it too was one stab to the right area. Arms grew from his sides, reaching out to wrangle the sea monster contending with him. As the two thrashed together, Huntsman dropped a newly short-haired Becky. "Fuck, that thing's awesome! Why did you never tell me you could do that?" He admired Gilgamesh's brutal impalement of his father from their safe distance.
"Never asked." Becky mumbled, staring at the floor. "Hey, snap out of it! Now is not the time for moping about your haircut!" Huntsman pulled her to her feet and pushed her at the massive brawl. "Tell him to aim low. Maybe he'll impale Ariana." Huntsman smiled and turned back to the vampire. "And, hey... if it's about nearly being eaten... talk to Arthur. I'm sure he's better than me at trauma and whatever the hell else is wrong with you." He glared at the ice mage. That asshole better survive. "Okay. Sex when we get home?" Becky asked the important question as she approached her furious summon. "Was there any doubt? Don't go picking anybody else up, the end of the world really turns me on." The two split up, Huntsman grinning with a mouth full of cruel fangs and Becky as blank as ever.
