Both Caroline and the employee stood still, watching Robin try to explain herself. A frown appeared on the employee's face when Robin explained how she was a thief, then declare how she wasn't 'leaving without something'. "Excuse me ma'am, but I don't appreciate jokes like that. If you continue to act belligerently, I am going to have to ask you to leave." The red-headed employee stated. Caroline leaned over to read her nametag. "Let's see...Amelia...LeBlanc?" Why did that name seem so...familiar? "I think Robin will be happy to leave...riiiight?" Caroline shot a look of pure fury directly at Robin, uncharacteristic of the fun-loving Caroline.
Amelia let out a sigh and glanced around the area. Greaaaat...looks like this woman wanted to fight, and there was all this expensive merchandise around. And work regulation didn't allow her to bring in weapons, so her saber was out of reach. Think Amelia...think!

"Of course I'll leave." Without warning, Robin snapped forward, trying to strike Amelia's stomach. "Once I have your wallet!" She roared, reaching out to grab the front of Amelia's shirt and throw her to the ground. Martha came darting past the aisle and had to skid her way back. "There you guys are! I-" Her jaw dropped. "ROBIN! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?" Her yell shook the shelves.

The instant Robin grabbed Amelia's shirt, both of them vanished into thin air. Amelia's eyes had only briefly caught sight of Martha before they disappeared, but it was enough to make her remember the night she last saw her...in the middle of winter. She had helped to torture Ashlea and sent Alexis into a berserking rage that nearly killed both herself and Amelia. The two reappeared in an unusually large loading area covered with iron shelves, several boxes of merchandise ready to be put on the shelves. Robin would also find that Amelia was now covered in a faint red aura, the temperature of the immediate area beginning to rise.
"Let the record show...I warned you." Amelia hissed as she brought her palm forward, which began to glow red as a fireball quickly formed and was launched directly at Robin's stomach. It was significantly weaker than attacks she'd use at Gateway, since she didn't know if Robin could survive a serious attack from her. The concussive force would launch Robin back several meters, though.

"What the fu-" Robin's confusion was interrupted by pain. "Oof!" She cried, rolling across the concrete. She sprang to her feet at the end, patting off her chest. "Fuck, I like this shirt!" She brushed away the ash on her stomach, showing somewhat singed abs. She was more resistant to flame than most people, but nowhere near to the level of a fire mage like Amelia herself. "And yours won't even fit me!" She snarled as she kicked off her shoes and fired off an explosion with one foot to launch a flying knee to Amelia's own stomach. "See, it feels bad! And I'm not even wrecking your clothes!" She brought down her elbow in addition to her knee, hoping to strike Amelia right on the spine.

The glare in Amelia's eyes remained firm as Robin patted herself off. "I don't care about you dumb shirt! You attacked me, idiot!" Amelia yelled out as she saw an explosion appear from Robin's feet. What was this strange power she had? The ability to make explosions anywhere? The lack of a sword made Amelia sigh and leap out of the way of Robin's obvious attack trajectory and grab her foot trailing behind the flying knee, yanking Robin back and aiming to deliver a punch straight to her face with the backwards momentum. Regardless if she struck or not, Amelia teleported away 10 feet and readied herself in a defensive stance.
"One freaking question, by the way!" Amelia's eyes lit up with rage, shining with the fiery aura on her body. "Why were you with that girl with the spikey hair?! Are you here to find out where Ashlea is again?!" Flashes of her fight with Alexis cycled through Amelia's mind. If this woman confirms she is here to find Ashlea...I am going to go all out. Family comes before stupid work shit! They can buy more rubber ducks later!

Robin's nose changed shape with a noise like snapping chalk when Amelia's fist met it. Disoriented by pain, the sharp change in direction, and Amelia's teleportation and weird questions, she launched herself to her feet with palm explosions to weave uncertainly. "Who? Martha? You know that blockhead? Who the hell is Ashlea!? I don't give a fuck about any personal shit you've got going on here!" This Amelia was a proper fighter, a worthy target. It would bring her some joy if she wasn't so pissed off. Robin pulled off her scarf and twirled the end. "I just want to make Vorpal's remember my name! I am Robin, aspiring bandit!" She swung the scarf at Amelia's head. The weighted balls at the end would make a surprising impact if they connected, a trick Robin hoped would get around Amelia's experience.

"...what?" Amelia blinked twice in confusion. Make Vorpals remember her name? Why? They were just a department store! Why would a bandit want people to know their name! All that is going to accomplish is making it easy to prevent this thief from getting through the front doors in the first place! And of COURSE she can't fight at full power...since all this merch is probably highly flammable and she doesn't want to get fired. The scarf launched at her with surprising speed, Amelia holding her hand out to blast it away with a fireball...but the attack managed to get through and smack against her head, sending Amelia reeling back and clutching the side of her head. "Fuck! Who the hell has metal balls in their scarf?!" Amelia yelled, no longer caring about watching her language around customers. Why should she? Robin was the opposite of a customer.
Glaring at Robin once more, Amelia grabbed a nearby empty box and aimed to teleport it right on top of Robin's head, blocking her vision. Amelia then attempted to teleport directly behind Robin and lock her arms under Robin's and pull her backwards into a suplex, trying to smash Robin's head into the hard concrete below.

"ME!" Was Robin's response to Amelia's inquiry. She whipped it around again fast enough to put out the flames on it, but she saw scorch marks regardless. "MY SCARF!" Came her choked yell, revenge delayed by the box falling over her head. She tore it in half, but Amelia's arms hooked her in her moment of confusion. She felt her self tipping back in the suplex and snarled. "BAD FUCKING IDEA!" Her palms both erupted, throwing her out of Amelia's grasp. She spun to face Amelia in her awkward position, falling elbow first at her stomach. She grabbed for Amelia's shirt with one hand and pressed the other into her stomach as soon as she connected.
"YOU'LL BE A CRATER!" Her hand released a fiery plume with greater force than she had ever managed, tossing her up, trailing smoke like a launched rocket. She gripped her hand in pain; there was blowback to doing this. She landed hard and lay still for a moment, only turning her head to look at the smoking crater she had left in the dock's concrete. Only now did something crack. "No! Nonono!" She rolled, standing. "Don'tbedeaddon'tbedeaddon'tbedead..." She murmured, running over to the shallow crater's edge to peer inside. She was Robin, the generous bandit! She didn't kill underpaid store employees for petty change!

The bizarre reaction to the scarf being scorched made Amelia tilt her head slightly in confusion as she followed up with her attack. The unexpected change of directing and grabbing of her shirt made Amelia's eyes widen in surprise. "Oh fuc-" Was all she could get out before the immediate area erupted in an explosion. Nearby shelves rattled at the force, several boxes falling down and hitting the concrete below. Robin would find the crater was completely empty, save for a few scraps of the shirt she had grabbed Amelia by.
Suddenly, Robin would see Amelia appearing directly in front of her and grabbing the thief by the throat. Amelia was now wearing the red leotard she normally wore underneath the work uniform. Her eyes burned with rage, staring directly into Robin's face. "That...was my work uniform, you fuck! I'm pissed now!" Tightening her grip around Robin's throat, Amelia began to sprint toward the opposite end of the room. After a few seconds, she teleported both of them to the top of the tall room and aimed directly downward, using the momentum to pull Robin back and throw her headfirst at the ground below. Amelia then held out her palm that began to glow a bright orange. "You seem durable enough! So I don't have to hold back as much!" And with that, Amelia launched a 1 meter diameter fireball directly at the site Robin would land. It was far enough away from shelves that it shouldn't damage the merchandise, something Amelia was still conscious about even in her enraged state.

Robin didn't have time to react before Amelia's fingers tightened around her back. Freed of the worry that she had killed the store employee, her rage began to rise again. It only grew as Amelia charged and teleported. She choked something that might have been a taunt through her compressed windpipe, slowing her fall with a series of explosions from her palms. She hit the ground, rough but not breaking anything, and rolled. It wasn't quite enough to avoid the blast of the fireball. The fires poured over her back, leaving burns from her heels to her shoulders and down the backs of her arms, but she just grit her teeth.
"Enough of this." She snarled. She lunged again for Amelia, not even touching the ground as she propelled herself on jets of flame. She wasn't letting Amelia out of melee range. A sole explosion let her launch a spinning kick for Amelia's ribs, breaking the sound barrier in a boom louder than the explosion itself. As fast as she did the first, her hands reached out to grab Amelia's head to steady it for a knee to the face, rocket-propelled like her kick.

"Oh come on!" Amelia yelled when Robin burst out of the smoke, having given the thief enough cover to get into range and smash her leg into her ribs. Amelia was sent flying backwards toward the back of the dock, slamming into the wooden planks below. A vast ocean of blue water stretched into the horizon, Amelia picking herself up and glaring at Robin. Robin's grab had thankfully missed, but Amelia was now in a different predicament. "Greeeeeeat...wooden dock." She grumbled. Using fire here would only cause property damage.
"Ok Amelia...you just need to incapacitate her. You can do that, right?" She mumbled to herself. This entire ordeal was just a giant waste of time. One look toward the ocean gave Amelia a great idea. "Hey! Giving you one last chance. Quit being a total...complete...utter piece of shit and pay for the stuff you destroyed, or I am going to get much less...nice." Amelia's voice deepened at her last word. A glint of rage flashed in her eyes as she prepared for Robin's response, getting into a defensive stance.

"If you could beat me so easily, you already would have!" Robin ran instead of launching herself again. Rocket lunges only worked when she had surprise. Too predictable a line. She threw a punch as she closed in. Amelia would instantly notice something. Robin had been relying on her powers. The punches she began to throw were sloppy, ill-timed and poorly thrown. Even those that hit properly might not hurt as much as they should. She only posed a threat again when she threw out her palm and tried to blow Amelia into the side of the ship at the end of the dock with an explosion.

"No, because I can't fight at full power, you idiot!" Amelia yelled, annoyed at her own restrictions. Amelia frowned at Robin's uncoordinated punch. Despite the maneuver, Amelia knew from her time in the dueling club that mages could still cast spells with their open palms, and these explosions were no different. Twisting her body downward, Amelia ducked her way out of the way of the explosion and grabbed Robin's outstretched arm.
"I have had enough of you..." Tightening her grip, Amelia teleports both of them 20 feet in the air and lunges Robin downward, trying to smash her through the dock and into the water below.

"Well that explains why you're so-" Robin's taunt didn't finish when she found herself whipped around midair. Disoriented and without enough time to change her trajectory, she slammed straight through the wooden boards to plummet into the water. She only had time to grab for Amelia, trying to pull her down as well. She slid her goggles down over her eyes and blinked through the water. Pieces of wooded drifted down around her. She stared at that for a second before she flailed to turn. The wood was floating up, towards the surface. As confusing as it was underwater and as bad as her swimming may be, she had an advantage. She didn't need to breathe! She grabbed for Amelia, trying to drag her lower. She grinned as she thrust out her palm. Nothing happened. She stared in horror at her scarred hands. Did her powers not work underwater!?

The satisfaction of throwing Robin was soon cut short when Amelia felt the back of her leotard get grabbed, tearing slightly across the back as she plummeted toward the ground as well. Both of them hit the water at the same time, Amelia glaring at Robin when she looked downward. The helpless look showed Amelia that Robin couldn't make any explosions underwater. Grinning, Amelia began to gather mana into her fist, now glowing a hot red color that turned the nearby water into steam. The fire mage thrust her fist forward and tried to blast Robin toward sea floor with a combination of steam and fire, increasing the intensity as she put even more mana into the blast to make it more powerful underwater. The force pushed Amelia upward, pushing her toward the surface.

Robin could only watch as the glow of fire wreathed Amelia's arm. Propelled by steam, Amelia's fist seemed to teleport into her gut. Robin was a rocket herself, blazing down into the depths. She could only stare up at Amelia, increasingly distant as she sank away. Air was gone from her lungs, weight dragging her down when her momentum finally stopped. She slowed and slowed until she gently drifted down onto sandy soil. Her eyes could only stare up. Her entire gut felt like she was beaten with a branding iron. How had this gone so wrong? She sat up on the sea floor and looked at her hands. She could barely see them in the dim light down here, and that was exactly the problem. She did not know herself. The bandit stood, staring up at the shimmering surface. She had to train. To learn how to fight. Then she'd take again.
Up on the surface, a white blur ran into the back room. "Do you think they ended up in here!?" Martha yelled to Caroline. It wasn't long before she spotted the crater in the middle of the dock. "FUCKSHIT! ROBIN YOU BASTARD!" She stomped and began darting around the room looking for her.

Watching Robin slowly sink down to the bottom of the ocean gave Amelia a sense of comfort; it appeared that this woman was able to breathe underwater, but not swim. Perhaps being stuck down there for a while will teach her some manners. Looking up at the shattered pier, Amelia takes brings her arms up and begins to swim toward the surface, resurfacing only a few seconds later. Caroline came sprinting through the back door behind Martha and skidded to a stop next to the spikey-haired doll, extending a hand toward Amelia.
"I am so, so sorry for what Robin did to you! Here, let me help you up." Caroline hurriedly said to Amelia, who rolled her eyes and grabbed Caroline's arm, being hoisted out of the water. Caroline's eyes were drawn to the strange scar showing through the back of Amelia's leotard, her eyes widening slightly in surprise. Amelia took a few steps to the side and ignited her body with an aura of fire, instantly vaporizing the water on her body. "Uuuugh...well, I can't really say it was no problem. My boss is going to kill me..." Amelia stated. Caroline frowned slightly, looking over at a nearby shipping container and rummaging through it for a second, pulling out a black sweater and ripping off the tag, tossing the coat to Amelia.
"Here, I'll pay for it at the front." The snake-like doll held up the tag, placing it in her pocket. Amelia caught the coat and slowly slipped it on, twitching slightly when it touched her back. This behavior also made Caroline squint in interest. "Uh...thanks? Who exactly are you t..." Amelia's voice trailed off, Caroline giving a wide smile. "My name is Caroline! And just who might you be, oh powerful fire mage?" She asked, giving a small chuckle. Amelia rolled her eyes again. "Amelia LeBlanc. So what, you two friends of that freak?" She asked, glaring at the ocean.

Martha stopped her dashing when Amelia came out of the water. "Ah, crap, she's down there, isn't she?" Martha leaned over the water. She was not going to go swimming in here and soak her clothes for no reason. Robin could rot. "She's my sister and she's awful. She always tries to steal everything..." Martha put her hands behind her head to flex her neck. Stress made her tighten up. She had to move! She got twitchy as she looked at Amelia. Did she know her? Martha tried to think of any redheads she knew and it clicked. This was the woman who pinned her down and whipped her long after she couldn't fight back! "You!" She raised her fists. Something felt wrong. She couldn't figure it out as she called out. "I know we were attacking your sister, but what you did was fucked up!"

Both Caroline and Amelia stared at Martha in confusion for a few seconds, not knowing how to respond. "...huh?" Amelia uttered. Did she know this person? She did have a sister...but that wasn't exactly a factor at the moment for most purposes. And whipping? She never carried a whip...and like a light, Amelia remembered the last place she saw this girl. "You!" Amelia's rage spiked for a second, Caroline getting between the two and holding out her hands mollifying. "Now now...how about we just talk this out, hm? Would you mind filling me in on the situation?" Caroline asked.
Amelia let out a sigh and leaned against a nearby shelf. "A few years ago, her and a few others decided to attack my half sister, that's the situation! Then my other half sister saw that, lost her mind, and nearly killed both them and me when I tried to stop her!" Amelia glared at Martha, but Caroline put her head in between her line of sight and put her hands up mollifyingly again. "But no...the person who attacked you wasn't me. That was my..." Amelia let out another sigh. "...twin." The words were forced out of her like a hairball stuck in her throat. "So yeah, I can see how you'd be confused. Though Alexis is much...much thinner than I am. Unhealthily so." Amelia explained. "So no, I'm not the one who whipped you, I was the one who saved you. So now it's my turn to ask a question."
She folded her arms across her chest, putting all her weight into her upper back, above the scar. "Why did you attack Ashlea? You don't seem like evil bastards...at least from what I've seen so far." Amelia squinted slightly, now unsure of how to feel about this new development.

Martha was quite willing to punch out Caroline to get to Amelia until she was stopped. "...right, there were two of you!" She eyed her potential opponent. They looked really similar. It wasn't some Shin thing, where she could clone herself? No, no, Martha had met actual twins, they were a thing. "We didn't decide to attack her. We... didn't have a choice." Mental blocks prevented her from revealing any more. It was agonizing, like a lock on her tongue preventing its movement.
