"I don't like that tone of yours!" Margaret yelled back at Martha, ready to drive her foot into the fairy king's face, when Martha managed to knock him down to the ground. The doll peered over to see that he was barely conscious. "Oh no, we're not done yet." Margaret grabbed the fairy king by his shirt and hoisted him up against a tree. "So where were we? Oh right, you were saying you'd never kidnap another baby again, or we will be much less nice next time!" She said with rage, thumping him against the tree trunk to get her point across.

“Mm-make a deal! The wine for-” The fairy king’s offer was stopped with a fist to the jaw. “Yeah, that was the deal before. Now you leave our world alone or we keep pummeling you!” Martha drew her fist back. “Wait, wait! I will no longer interfere with the world of the living for mother’s milk!” He begged, putting up his hands. “That’s good. And?” “And… and I will leave your world alone entirely?” “And!?” “You didn’t have any other demands, please just let me go!” “Oh, uh, right.” Martha sheepishly lowered her fists. “Unless you want some cool fairy trinkets. Got anything in mind, Margaret?” Martha’s mind was filling with unicorns and fairy potions that could turn her pixie-sized and let her go on backyard adventures. “Amazing…” She mumbled.

"...you can't be serious." Margaret huffed, tapping the fairy king with her leg. "He already agreed to our demands, why torture the guy further? Did you not see what sparked Worls War 3?" Thinking for a moment, Margaret shook her head. "Nevermind, wouldn't have happened yet. I say you just get the hell out and leave the human world alone! The dumb kid can trade for whatever she wants from the fairy kingdom." The old doll suggested, looking toward the other doll to see her reaction.

“You can let him go, but I do have one more demand!” Martha bent over to get face to face with the king. “I don’t want you to just stop doing it. That doesn’t help enough. In the future, any child who enters your realm is under your protection. You’re king, you can make it happen. All the resources you’ve been putting to tormenting and kidnapping children, I want them helping them.” She scowled until the king reluctantly nodded. “You have my word. Now let me return to my throne.” He spat moss-colored blood, glowering up at her. “You got it. But I’m keeping this.” She waved the wine bottle and smirked as he vanished with a wrathful glare. “So, uh… I’ve never drunk stuff like this before. Wanna share later?” She limped back towards the cabin.

As Martha continued to make demands of the fairy king, Margaret began to feel conflicted. Sure he was a piece of trash and kidnapped children, but seeing this kind of torture reminded her of Arachne and his awful pleasure in torturing people. Though she had to admit, the prospect of turning this monster into someone who is forced to protect children is appealing, who was going to enforce it? The two of them couldn't dedicate their lives to making sure a kingdom follows a demand. Letting out a sigh, Margaret nodded her head.
"You're a headache. But...a useful headache?" She questioned. "Whatever, we can share...whatever that is! Alien wine isn't something I've tasted either, frankly." She looked at the bottle with suspicion. Would stuff fairies eat be negative to their health? "...thanks for the help, by the way. Guess you can do some good after all." Margaret folded her arms in fake annoyance at the joke.

Martha had a few quick reactions to Margaret praising her. First a blink, then shaking her head, finally a swiftly suppressed smile. “Useful headache is the best I can ask for, isn’t it?” Her smile returned with a touch of sadness. “Ah, fuck it! I’ll take it! Tonight we’re splitting this! Man, fuck fairies. I can’t believe I thought they were cute before. Guess the troll was nice enough though.” She shuddered at remembering drinking his blood. “And, uh, thanks. I couldn’t have done it without you.”

A small look of regret flashed across Margaret's face when Martha reacted to her backhanded compliment. Was she being too mean? Did the kid deserve some more slack for helping out? She made a mental note to be nicer to Martha in the future to see if she was as annoying as she thought, or Margaret was just being judgemental. Her expression changed to disgust when Martha mentioned the troll. "Nice enough to block our path until we got his eye. Who in the world steals someone's eyeball?!" She asked in horror, her own eye having sympathy pains. Her expression then softened again when Martha thanked her.
"Erm, it was no problem. We both helped out, after all. How about we go check on Jeremiah one last time to make sure he's ok, and head somewhere a little nicer? Preferably somewhere with as little supernatural stuff as possible, please." She said, giving a sidelong glance in the general direction of the ring to the fairy kingdom. That entire realm turned out to be one giant headache.

Yuu wasn’t as talented with a needle as Marika. It was just a fact. Marika could do things with string that nobody else could. But without Yuu, she would finish nothing. Every design was redone a dozen times before Yuu made her pick something and stick to it. Even a finished design could be changed again at any moment, and the dolls themselves had been put under the knife for “improvements” more than once. And so Yuu worked alone this time, for she had a plan that must be stuck to. Stitch by stitch, she made a dress, based on the dimensions of a woman she had barely spoken to, picked up from Caroline. Not a detail could be off, or it could all fall apart. She wasn’t quite done when she heard the door swing open upstairs. That would be Arachne and Kuromi. It was time. “Welcome back.” She said as she stepped up from the basement, eying the two. How to approach? How to make a new friend… then stab her in the back.

Arachne practically jumped backwards when Yuu suddenly appeared from around the corner. "Don't come out of nowhere like that!" He barked with annoyance. Kuromi expertly slid between the two, her red eyes locked onto Yuu. "Why thank you. We had a wonderful time at the mall, didn't we?" She turned to look at Arachne, who seemed calmer now. "Yes, we did. Did you know people actually have aquariums in malls?! That was never a thing in our time!" He stated with awe. Kuromi gave a small chuckle and patted his arm, then looked toward Yuu.
"Did we miss anything while we were gone?" Kuromi asked Yuu, tilting her head to let her long silver hair flow downward.

It took her off guard seeing Arachne like this. He seemed like a happy child, not a despot who nearly killed off the human race. “Really? Well that’s certainly… an interesting place for one.” She decided not to mention the dolls who would like to go. It couldn’t lead to a productive line of conversation. “No, it’s been quiet while you were gone. All the original… all of Marika’s dolls have been out today. I have been using the quiet to work on a project of mine.” Should she drop more? Was that tantalizing enough? She watched for their reactions before continuing.

"Hoooooh?" Kuromi said, narrowing her eyes and placing her hand on her cheek. "And just what project is this? It's not anything...unsavory, is it?" There was a hint of malice at the end of Kuromi's sentence, her red eyes starring right into Yuu's soul. After a few seconds, Kuromi let out a small laugh. "Juuuuuuuuuuuust kidding~. What is it, though?" The doll asked. Arachne folded his arms across his chest and looked at the two, quickly losing interest in the conversation. Was it just another gift to try and get on his good side? Why would a doll from his idiot mother want with him?

Yuu’s innards twisted up at Kuromi’s gaze. All of Arachne’s other minions, she was sure she could beat one on one. Not Kuromi. By some deranged leap of logic, Arachne had decided he needed a doll specifically with the purpose of hurting other dolls. “The unsavory things I make aren’t your business.” Yuu managed to keep her face still, playing off the twitches as a smile, not a grimace. “Actually, it is a gift… for you.” She focused on Kuromi, as if Arachne was not there. “Do you want to see? I’m sorry, Arachne, sir, I would ask that you stay up here. It is a bit of a surprise.”

Arachne's face darkened when Yuu made her comment, pushing past Kuromi and jamming his finger into Yuu's neck. "I will have you know that EVERYTHING is my business, understand me? Especially if it's 'unsavory' as you say." He growled, ready to command Yuu to spill any information she had. But Kuromi gracefully pushed him back away from Yuu and turned to address him directly.
"Now now, no need to get upset. I am sure she knows you're the boss around here. And if she doesn't, well, ehehe..." Kuromi's girlish giggle gave off a hint of darkness, her eyes briefly giving a murderous glance at Yuu. When the two were finished talking, Kuromi turned back to Yuu.
"Anyway, a gift? For moi? And for the boss as well?" She asked with interest. "And just how...unsavory is this gift, hm?" Her eyes narrowed at the fire doll.

“Not at all, I was attempting to make a joke.” Yuu nervously tittered. This was going poorly. It relied so much on social skills that she did not have. “Please, if you don’t trust me, send more people. Come to the basement yourself. Or command me. Command me to tell the truth.” She looked Arachne right in the eyes, daring him. Even if he did it, she might be able to survive. Might be able to weasel her way out. She was beginning to sweat. It made her shudder, but she clenched her spine tight to contain the movement.

Arachne stared at Yuu directly in the eyes, trying to read the doll's intent. A wide grin began to spread across his face as he pushed past Kuromi and faced her. "Oooooh? You have good ideas, woman. So how about you tell the truth." Yuu would mentally feel the command take over. "And tell me what you're really planning. While we're at it, how about you do a backflip?" The grin on his face widened when he looked up to see that there wasn't nearly enough clearance for a backflip, hoping it makes Yuu crash against the doorframe. Kuromi watched silently, making sure she was out of the way.

“Oh, fine, I was-” Yuu’s explanation was cut off when her body moved on its own, slamming her into the door’s lintel. She didn’t feel much. Smacking into some wood had little effect when she had been thrown through concrete before. But it threw her off to have her body moving against her will, and she tumbled halfway down the stairs. Her mouth was still moving as she tried to pick herself up. “I wanted her to try on a dress I made! Cause she, she, clearly likes you and I wanted you to get together!” She forced words out through tears. She hand planted the signs. Reading romance novels in the living room. Wistful sighs. Talking about her loves to people who didn’t care. The image of a hopeless romantic was implanted deep in their heads. They just needed to keep believing it.

A wide, toothy smile spread across Arachne's face when he saw Yuu crash helplessly against the ground. Both him and Kuromi paused though when Yuu began talking about a dress she made, and that she wanted them to get together. Arachne stepped down a few of the stairs and kneeled down to look Yuu closer in the eyes. "Oh, is that right? I guess you can't be lying right now..." Arachne rubbed his chin thoughtfully. Was there a way she could be lying right now? Was his order clear enough? Arachne's eyes narrowed thoughtfully as be began to consider the idea of just dismantling Yuu and placing her string in a plushie, but Kuromi snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Aaaaaaaaaw! That's just lovely for you to do!" She squealed, skipping down the steps and joining Arachne on his step. "Where is it? I have GOT to see this!" She continued. Arachne silently looked at Kuromi's beaming face, then back at Yuu's.
"...feh, just show us." He stated, slipping his boot under Yuu's chin and kicking upward to launch her the rest of the way down the stairs.

Yuu hadn’t managed to stand before Arachne’s toe caught her, throwing her the rest of the way down to crash down every step. Now even her durable body felt the ache as she stood. Was this humiliation what the other dolls felt with Marika? Hating their oppressor but able to do nothing against her? Behind her docile eyes, there was fiery rage. Before this was merely pragmatic, but now she felt like she would enjoy it all too much. She pushed those thoughts away. She was corrupted enough already. No need to worry about that. Stiffly, she walked over to the mannequin that wore her work. “I wanted it to be a surprise for you.” She pouted, gesturing to her work. It was sleek, all-black like Kuromi’s wear, with a diamond-shaped cutout on the back where there was a thin mesh, paired with a patch of mesh over the breasts in front. Sex appeal while keeping her typical gothic look. A perfect combination, with any luck.

Kuromi skipped down the stairs, sliding up next to the mannequin and inspecting the dress with a close eye. Arachne slowly walked down after her, looking bored of the whole ordeal. "Ooooooooooooooo." Kuromi said, inspecting the diamond-shape on the back of the dress. "So you doooooooo know my style!" Kuromi beamed. Arachne look a seat at a nearby table and crossed his legs, watching the two interact. He couldn't shake the feeling that Yuu was not telling the whole truth, despite his order. His face turned into a frown when he remembered the plant doll that Marika had made in his timeline, and how much of a snake she turned out to be. Yuu was giving her the exact same vibes as her.
Yanking the dress off the stand, Kuromi held it against herself and examined a nearby mirror. "Hmmmmm...not sure if it'll fit me. Do you have a bathroom or something down here?" She asked, holding the dress out in front of herself.

“No bathroom, but we do modeling here, so I set this up.” Yuu pointed to a curtain rod hanging halfway through the basement and grabbed the blanket that hung on it to block off that side of the room. There was a section set aside for photoshoots here, with a stool, a greenscreen, and a camera. “Oh, and I… made these too.” Yuu directed Kuromi’s attention to one of the many workbenches in the basement, now hidden from Arachne’s view. There was underwear there, the bra made so that it wouldn’t show through the back of the dress. “I… know it’s a little much, but I think Arachne really thinks you’re beautiful, and I knew you loved him back…” Yuu half-mumbled, feigning embarrassment. “You don’t have to take those.” She quickly threw out.
