-I will do as you say.- Callis thought about resisting, but he quickly realized that he didn’t have the strength nor the will to do it. The Beast Knight was really tired, several near death experiences and grievous wounds that would’ve killed a regular human were catching up with him, while having to fight the embarrassment of being around Aria, who seemed to prefer her birthday suit over any other clothing and after having a meltdown almost letting the Beast out. All this, added to the strange sense of security he was feeling while being carried by the Firm Chief was more than enough to make Callis lower his guard and sleep. He’d never sleep so close to somebody, not in a very long time. A life of war and battle had taught the Beast Knight to be always alert and his natural instincts also helped, but this time around he fell asleep like a baby.
The narrow staircase climbed the side of the mountain, the worn out steps had clearly been prey of time, eroded and smoothened by the desert wind. This made them easier to climb, but it was easy to notice that when reaching higher inclines they might get difficult to climb, as they would look more like a ramp, rather than stairs, and considering that a wrong step could take them to the bottom through Air-Cliffside, it was prudent to take it easy. If Aria was aware enough of her surroundings she might be able to hear a strange sound above them, the flapping of wings, the sounds that birds of prey make when they stalk their next meal. Way above them a kettle of vultures was circling their location. Their sound would be the only warning, as like the other creatures brought back by the Black Mineral, the creatures lacked any distinctive scent, apart from those part of the desert enviroment.

Meanwhile, underneath their location, the strange cloaked figure observed from the shadow of a large boulder, pitch black eyes with a single white point observed in silence Aria’s and Callis’ plight.
