Remilia gave Fumi a polite clap. Before she got say anything though (not that she knew what to say anyway), she was interrupted by a loud girl dressed as a superhero. Well, Remy appreciated her enthusiasm for stopping criminals. After all, Remy had the same feeling (although she did not express it so fervently). And the girl was asking her for a dance! There was no reason for Remilia to say no, so she turned around to excuse herself. But the other girl was already gone.
Well, Remilia couldn't do anything if Fumi disappeared so quickly. "Sure." She said, turning back to Ash.
Derek was watching at how Thomas was eating. He was looking like a squirrel right now, with his cheeks full of food, even if it was a little funny he found it that his friend was a bit scared and nervous to be in there with a lot of people he didn't know. But he got distracted at the time when he caught sight of Fumi, while pretending to don't notice he already had a "scan" of her, such a beautiful hair of course, darker than black gooseberries and curly like a vine that could catch anyone who dared to approach it. And damn! What a beautiful eye color! Red like the blood of some poor bastards killed by vampires in such a white floor. Her body seemed to be fine, too. He was wondering if the girl really had something under the bandages. But the most interesting part was how fast she "took" the candies with her. He really didn't care about the... how Thomas called it? kleptomania? Pf! The girl seemed to be fine at least, "decent" at how Derek thought in his mind. He really wasn't listening to what Thomas was saying so when he realized that his friend went to the girl dressed like a superhero he took advantage and walked towards Fumi. With a coy smile, he said slowly so as not to scare the girl.
It seems they have lied to me when they said that Pharaohs were filled with natron and resin-soaked clothes - He said as he walked beside the girl and stopped - I didn't know I would have the honor to meet Cleopatra - And then, he grabbed her hand and kissed it while doing a reverence
Thomas went towards the girl who was using a superhero costume, it was pretty original and really well made, probably it wasn't from a Comic... But hey! Probably the girl was a writer or an artist! That was pretty cool. And as he was close enough so she could hear him, she went with someone else to dance. Oh well, probably she was a very popular girl. Then he felt that he was around a lot of people that he didn't know... at least he saw Amai but really bussy with Falken... He walked out of the bunch of people, as the moment he saw Derek with the mummy girl; he smiled to himself and despite having no one with whom to bet, he had bet that the girl would refuse his friend
-Yeah, the party is here and it wants some booze, where is the closest supply?- Falken asked Amai with a huge grin on his face. Looking around she was the only who looked worthwhile in the party, half of the guest were too young and the other half were some of Arachne’s dolls. Falken could admit many failings, but he didn’t try to tap crazy or people made of assorted body parts, so he would try to steer clear from them. -So what brings you here Blondie? This doesn't seem your bloody kind of party- He asked to Amai while leaning against a wall. - I picture you more in an underground club, whipping people while calling them pigs...- Falken smirked. -I'm here because I can't bloody say no to free booze and potential customers.- -Gen do you have any plans apart from bankrupting the catering service?- Rin asked her brother with a strict look on her eyes, as he stuffed his mouth with almost anything he could get his hands on. In-between munching he replied. -Nobody is keepin’ ya chained to me Rin, go and meet some fuckin’ people while I do what I couldn’t do for fuckin’ ages.- Gen turned around and kept eating. Rin shook her head in disappointment and looked around, trying to see anybody who looked amicable enough to talk to.
The Hot Blooded Boxer kept eating but soon somebody else got close to the table. Gen heard her and didn’t reply, he just glared at her, more like an animal protecting his food than like a man and kept eating in silence. Rin reached the bar and sat down, asking for water. She wasn’t much of a drinker and maybe she never would be. She glanced around hoping to find a known face, but no luck, even with the newcomers. Callis wasn’t amused. When the invitation reached the BHA he knew they would ask him to assist. After everything that had been happening to him, the work for the JHWAB, the fight against one of the most wanted men in Japan and his usual impeccable work for the organization he became something of a household name for Yatagarasu, trying to use him like a spokesperson or at the very least a business mascot. This was new for him, as usually different groups he was part of back in Centris tried to hide their affiliation with him.
Being displayed like a medal was weird, but deep down he couldn’t feel more pleased and proud, even through his humility of not only being accepted but also celebrated. And he liked taking important job, he did dislike attending to this kind of events, as he wasn’t very good with crowds. But after the insistence of his comrades he had to come. What he didn’t expect was that they got him a disguise themselves. The Beast Knight closed the zipper on his back, thanks to his inhuman flexibility and entered the building.
Callis was wearing a full fur body suit, with a large cartoon lion head paws and tail. The Beast Knight face popped out the suit through the open fangs of the adorable feline. He sighed as he entered the main room dragging his feet working his way towards Eri, as she was the one who sent the invitations.

As Shin consumes his weight in food, he studies the people around him chowing down. "These are my kind of people!." he thought to himself as he moves to grab any unclaimed snacks within his range. His costume didn't even seem to be slowing him down as his hand to mouth movements would appear to be a blur to a regular person, but to the people sitting around him, he is probably moving at a regular pace. Eventually he finishes eating all the food within arm's reach, yet his stomach still wants more and he didn't want to refuse the precocious organ's desire. He turns his attention to Gen and Martha. With a devilish smile on his face, he slowly approaches the two as his smile transforms into a rather friendly expression. "Wow! Your costumes are so cool!" He proceeds to sit down with them. "So who are you guys suppose to be?" he asked as he prepares to grab some food.
Cian was still groggy when Eri rescued him from his juicy tomb and it took a few moments from him to recover, as the Banshee cleaned him carefully. The poor mouse shook his head vigorously shook his head and twitched his big ears. “Well, well, I wonder what I said to end up like this…” he said to himself. The mouse absently rubbed the sauce off his thick glasses with his scarf and blinked a couple of times before noticing his savior. “Oh, hello there!” he happily waved at Eri, despite being covered in bright red tomato juice. “Thanks a lot for getting me out of there, darling. As delicious as that sauce is, drowning in it isn’t really an item on my bucket list” as if he was reasserting his words, Cian ran his tongue on the tasty juice trapped on his long whiskers.
“Blimey!” he exclaimed in horror when he noticed the result of his splashing “Your costume, darling! I completely ruined it!” To be fair, Cian was vastly exaggerating the few stains that had landed here and there on Eri’s mermaid costume, but he seemed dead serious about it. “Let me take care of that for you!” he proclaimed, before turning his voice into a whisper and mumbling something on an extinct language. A faint green luminescence enveloped the mouse and a tiny spheres of emerald energy escaped from his fur. When his opened his eyes, they sparkled like gemstones. With a florid gesture of his hand, the energy grew brighter and the messy stains disappeared under its light.
“And that takes cares of that” Cian said, smiling smugly as he looked around. Everything was perfectly clean once again, all except one thing “Oh, missed a spot!” His tail whipped violently as he launched a big crimson drop of sauce with laser precision towards a certain flaming griffon, whose laughter was about to thrown him out of the air. Sun’s curses drowned the sound of evaporating tomato juice as Cian turned towards Eri.
“Thanks again, darling!” he said and, under Sun’s open-mouthed stare, he jumped and planted a small kiss on the tip of the Banshee’s nose. “Now, if you won’t mind…” he said and a sudden terror appeared on his furry factions “Would you be so kind to leave me over the table, darling? I don’t fancy being a chew toy” his voice trembled as he pointed to Callis.
“Oh that was nothing, my friends are… uhm… kind of weird” Arlana quickly replied and was unbelievably relieved when Smith offered to change the subject “Yes, please” she sighed and a shy smile was drawn on her lips. The girl ran her eyes through the party before turning to the billionaire. “So…” she said, trying to feel the awkward silence “I’m kind of surprise to see you here. You don’t seem like the kind of guy who would come to this things” she stated, gesturing with her head at the most lively part of the party.
"Excellent! Away!" Without warning, Ash leans over and picks Remilia up bridal style, seemingly not even being weighed down as she runs over to the dance floor and skids to a stop, face grinning at the idea of other people seeing her dance. Looking down at Remilia in her arms, Ash begins talking. "Now! Do you know how to dance? I am great at it, I just need to know if you have experience!" She declared, beginning to move her body back and forth in anticipation. From up close, Remilia could see how buff Ash's upper body was through the suit, her 6-pack abs able to be vaguely seen, along with her muscular arms.
Back with Martha, Cadence saw how she was about to get into an argument with the loud guy, and now some other guy was trying to join the conversation. Keeping her presence as small as possible, Cadence continued to eat the salad, curious to see what would happen between Martha and this seemingly starving boy.
Eri spent the duration of her interaction with Cian with a slightly opened mouth and a massively confused, shocked, expression. When Cian had parted from her with a kiss on her nose, Eri let out a slight giggle as if the entire situation was incredulous; a mouse, talking AND kissing her? Eri could simply not question it, as she did most things. It wasn’t as if there weren’t crazy things in the Siddhe and its Japanese equivalent...heck, she’d left Hebi at home and he was a talking snake. But Hebi didn’t just magically make things disappear...!! “Ah...sure!” Eri complied with Cian’s request, setting him down while she picked up the compromised soup, passing it off to one of the masked workers with an apology only to stop and turn around, nearly running into the person that was behind her.
Looking up, Eri gave an apologetic half-bow before stopping with a delighted squeal. “Oh my gosh...you’re adorable! Look at those ears!” Fawning like a child who’d gotten to hold their first puppy , Eri reached up to grab at the fluffy ears of Callis’s outfit, all while bouncing softly in place. She’d seen a lot of cute costumes tonight, but this one took the cake! It was just so out of place on someone so big! “So fluffy….Oh!” Dropping her hands with a blush of embarrassment from having been so forward, Eri forcibly clutched her hands together to halt their shenanigans and gave a bright smile, offering another bow, but this one being of greeting. “My apologies! My name is Eri, I’m the one who sent out the invitations...well, you probably knew that. It’s a delight to meet you, I love your outfit! The ears are killing me!” She was blushing all the while at the idea of how soft and fuzzy the plush ears were in her hands and she had to control herself from going right back to touching without permission. Thankfully, for Callis’s savior, Eri drifted off in her praises and looked towards the bar where it seemed Jen was already effectively denying alcohol to the petulant Pikachu. With a cut off snort of amusement, Eri clapped her hand back over her mouth at the mere idea of Chase even looking like he was having a bad time in that outfit. Tonight was fantastic for her already!
“Well, I need to go see what’s going on over there. If you’d like, you can come with me! Mr….?” She left her words open-ended, waiting for his completion while she simply stood, beaming at him brightly. However, she was already beginning to inch her way towards the bar, her back facing the area while she awaited his answer.
Fumi looked outwardly almost offended as her looting was interrupted by someone suddenly...grabbing her hand?! Her expression was one of complete and total bewilderment before her hand simply disappeared from his hold, leaving behind wisps of warm smoke instead; they converged together just as quickly and formed her hand again while she just let out a muffled snort of amusement at the guy. Why was he even holding her hand?! She couldn’t eat with just one.
As if to show what she could do once more, Fumi’s nimble fingers raised towards Derek’s head and her fingers had to only brush the top of his hat...before it was in her fingers and placed onto her head right after, making her quietly snicker to herself. The bowl she’d commandeered disappear just as well and Fumi, giving Derek a wink followed by a peace sign, stuck her tongue out and began to quickly skip away. This was her prize for being interrupted!
“My whipping arm got tired.” Amai chimed back towards Falken, halting in her momentary admiration of Nicole. “But, if you’d like, I could always make an exception for you , Handsome.~” Flicking her tongue out across her lips, Amai’s glowing eyes narrowed into delighted slits as she shamelessly gave him the opportunity. However, Amai’s ability to rebound was never-ending, for she swapped her interest again and looked back to the sharp-toothed girl; distinctly, she thought what a delight those would be to have on her skin. “Cute dress? You flatter me.~ Say, you look a little lonely, here by yourself.” She cooed, a single wisp of pink haze leaving her mouth while she reached a tender hand out, her fingertips aiming to touch beneath Nicole’s chin, a knowing and dangerous smile on her glossy lips as she continued. “It’s a shame, you should be out here on someone’s arm, showing them how fantastic you look. I’d be more than honored to do the deed.~”
Amai only halted in her advance to look back towards Falken, smirking slightly. “The invitation is open to you as well, care to dance later?~” The way she said the word was sleazy, as if she were doing the bare minimum of hiding her true intentions.
The party was just beginning, as were the risings of the dead from their once peaceful slumbers. Their home destroyed and made anew, the living wandering in their halls, the loudness of their voices!...But it wasn’t time yet, they weren’t at their full strength.
Outside, a full moon began to be consumed behind the cover of dark clouds and in the distance along the chilly sea, there was the reflection of lightning striking far away. The time was around ten and in the next two hours, the guests would find themselves at an entirely different type of party.
-I’m the guy that will break yer fuckin’ hand if you get closer to his fuckin’ food.- Gen snarled at Shin, quickly turning to face Martha. -And that goes double for ya, if ya don’t want to get yer fuckin’ hand in a cast ya keep it to yerself.- The Hot-blooded Boxer wasn’t joking, he was a bit territorial with the food, but seen from his viewpoint two strangers were trying to take it from him, and he had many bad experiences during his involuntary dimensional tourism.
Callis went from pale to beet red in matter of seconds as Eri got closers and started touching his costume. The Beast Knight more or less could handle being around the opposite gender, he had to get accustomed to it after living for such a long time in this world with rules so different to the ones back on his homeland. But still such proximity was something he tried to actively avoid and Eri’s cute disposition got him flustered. The Beast Knight head was overheating as words tried to come out from his mouth but got stuck on his throat.
-I…I...I…- For a moment it seemed he might pass out, but he powered through the dizziness caused by Eri’s proximity and her scent and managed to complete the sentence, not without stuttering. -I...I am… C-c-callis No-no-nomene…- The Beast Knight took a deep breath and continued struggling to talk. -I...am...h-h-he-here as-as an-an-an e-e-envoy f-f-from the Ya-yata-ta-gara-su b-branch of th-the BHA-A.- The more time he took the more difficult it became for him, but his courtly manners, the ones he tried so hard to learn and maintain were incorporated to his very being. So he continued.
-O-o-of c-c-course… I wi-will a-a-a-acompa-pa-ny you.-
-Sure love, you can pick me up in the bar when you're ready for a real dance partner- Falken grin grow wider as he jokingly swayed his hips. -I plan to dry it out before you come back to get me.- He gestured a goodbye and he walked towards the counter, hitting it with his knuckles and asking for the strongest drink they had. It was going to be a long night and Falken wanted to start with something light to set the mood. Besides him Rin Shishioh was sitting drinking water. The Infamous Mercenary glanced at her glass and scoffed. -What? They didn’t have bloody milk?- Rin didn’t reply, drinking another sip of water as she looked around hoping to see a known face.
"Well, hope you find it. I wish you the best." Jenifer poured the shot back into the glass with the help of a funnel and gave Rin her glass of water. She frowned when Falken harassed the other customers. "ID first, buddy. And don't bug my customers." She gave him a glare that was lost behind her mask. "This isn't your food, it's party food!" Martha protested. She'd like to see him break her hand! She'd break his... everything! She had to take a moment to decide on what to break. None of his parts were especially appealing anyway. She snatched a whole cluster onto a plate and retreated a safe distance away. She would love to throw down, but not here. Parties suuuucked. "Yes, perfect!" Nicole's grey skin was somewhat clammy to the touch. She seemed to have very little reaction, but it was creeping up on her. Her impossible inheritance made her totally sterile and mostly asexual, with poorly wired sexual instincts coming from the vastly different biological natures of her parents, but there was something there for Amai to latch on too, it was just very deep. She looped Amai's arm in hers and drug her into the middle of the dance floor to show off her outfit. She wished there was Halloween in Atlantis! Or clothing at all. Just jewelry was BORING.
Chase sighs to himself before adding, "Very well tentacle monster." He opens his palm and a small fire begins to dance above his hand. But before he could try anything, he suddenly feels the pressure of a stern stare, and knew at once that Smith is watching him. "Damn it," he muttered. He proceeds to nonchalantly wave his hand and the bright flames disappear. "You're lucky that I'm not a Charmander." He then turns his attention to Falken hitting the counter and ordering the strongest drink, which causes him to laugh at the guy's ridiculous behavior. Smith studies the eccentric individuals around them and comments, "You're correct. This setting isn't something I prefer personally. But someone in my position is required at times to attend events such as these to scout for potential talent." For a moment he spots Chase about to start trouble and offers one of his legendary cold stares at the back of his head. A moment later his bodyguard returns to a more passive state. "Hopefully my bodyguard doesn't make my task any harder than it has to be." His face returns to a much more friendly expression. "Though, now that you know the reason for my attendance, may I be free to ask for your reason for coming here tonight? Perhaps it has something to do with the collection your working on?" he asked in reference to her gathering the tarot cards. "I should have brought my swear jar." replied an easygoing Shin to Gen. "Wait! Where are you going?" asked Shin to Martha. "Could you at least tell me your costume before you go?" As he talks, his hand move around to stuff his face with food without missing a beat.
Oh, that's adorable - Derek said with an arrogant smile on his lips, Really? The girl just grabbed his hat and walked away with it. That was really adorable, well, maybe only for Derek. Thankfully he still was wearing his horns, it was a great idea to make them separated from the hat - Next time, tell me your name, darling! - He said while he was unwrapping a candy, showing her that he also "took" something very fast. At least it were candies that weren't too sugary for him.
Thomas couldn't take it anymore and he started laughing like a freak, of course, too loud to make Derek pulls his hair in a few seconds. After the younger boy apologized, they were apart again. Thomas was looking at everyone, the costumes were really amazing! Only that his stomach started growling again. The poor priest saw Martha, Gen and Shin in the table, he felt SO hungry that in just a second he grabbed something from the middle of the other two "piranhas", it was a sandwich but very complete. He started eating it desperately, with his cheeks a bit red; probably by thinking that everyone must be looking at him like a weirdo, when he swallowed he spoke, at least to don't look so rude as when he just grabbed the sandwich
M-My apologies... H-Hi... - He said with a really nervous smile, looking like a scared little child - M-My name is T-Thomas... N-Nice to m-meet you all...
"I've never danced before." Remilia said. She didn't count the wiggle and the jiggle and the boogie-woogie she did while listening to music alone in her room back when she was a teenager. Which wasn't that long ago, really. And the dancing she did with her father when she was a toddler was so long ago, she can't even remember it. So as far as she knew, she never danced before.
"That suit fits you well." Remilia said, although what she really wanted to say is "Those are nice abs." The fact that she was staring at them probably revealed that, despite the fact that her facial expression was just as neutral as it always was.
Cian dove between the bottles and plates as soon as his tiny legs landed on the table. He hid behind a wine bottle and let go a deep and relieved sigh when he saw Callis walking away from the table with Eri. “Now now, that was really close” the magical mouse gasped, running his scarf down his face to clean up the sweat. He was just about to calm down when a warm feeling on his back and the powerful scent of burnt tomato juice made him remember that the danger was far from over. “Sunny!” he exclaimed, turning to face the massively pissed, and stinky, flaming griffon “Come on, lad! Don’t look at me like that!” the mouse gave his younger brother a vigorous pat on the shoulder “It was just a tiny joke between brothers, don’t get mad! We’re family after all”
“Of course I know that, bro…” Sun muttered with a tense, malevolent smile. Just as Cian was relaxing, he leaned forward and added “That’s why I’m giving you a five second head start” Cian froze in place and Sun smile just got wider.
What followed was a chase of looney toon-ish proportions. Cian running for his life and Sun chasing him, hurling insults like a drunken sailor or a twelve year old on Xbox Live, the pursuit extended through the entire hall. If the magical brothers had been just a bit bigger or powerful, that race would have caused a chaotic mess. But all they managed was to provoke minor inconveniences. Cian bounced off Chase’s yellow costume and jumped off Thomas sandwich as he tried to shake of his flaming pursuer and Sun flew close enough to Falken to barely set his hair on fire and dove between Amai and Nicole trying to sink his claws on his brother.
On the other side of the room, Arlana kept chatting with Smith.
“Bodyguard?” The girl followed Smith eyes as he glared at the giant Pikachu. Only then, she realized that the one inside that silly costume was the serious good looking man that had brawled with the Avatar of the Primal Roar. And seeing Chase’s angry face stuffed inside a Pokémon was just too much for Arlana. The girl snorted and put her hand over her mouth trying to stop herself from laughing. She held it until her ribcage started to hurt and then exploded into a burst of pure and hilarious laughter. It was one of those chuckles that comes from the deepest part of someone and ends up leaving you light headed. Arlana felt as if she hadn’t laughed like that in ages. She was so caught up in the moment that she wasn’t even surprised about Smith knowing about her search for the Cards.
“I-I-m sorry, I’m sorry” she said between chuckles, wiping joyful tears out her of eyes. The girl took a moment to recover her breathe before turning to Smith with a giggly smile brightening her face “Sorry, I just couldn’t stop myself, that’s the meanest Pikachu I’ve seen in my life!” She had to contain another burst of laughter and tried to get back to the conversation “I wish I was looking for a card… that couple idiots over there” she pointed at Sun and Cian, in the middle of the chase “tricked me into getting here” The girl watched them run each other around the room “I guess I should go get them…” she muttered but when Cian lead Sun into one of the tables and the golden bird came out of the other side with a heavy sausage impaled on his beak, Arlana felt a smile growing on her lips. “So, you said you were looking for potential talent?” she asked Smith “For what?”
Grinning at the compliment, Ash hugged Remilia close to her chest, letting go with her right arm and pointing diagonally right at the ceiling. "Why, thank you! My heroic outfit is nothing short of perfect, much like myself!" Pressing Remilia's cheek against Ash's, Ash motions toward the source of the scary-ish music. "Now, let us dance! Simply follow my lead!" Finally putting the black-haired girl down, Ash grabs her hands and began to dance around the dance floor, doing a mish-mash of moves that clearly showed Ash didn't know how to dance, but was confident enough in her ability to make up ones on the spot. She grinned once more when the loud doll spotted Nicole and Amai join the party, continuing her made up routine. "So! What's your name, dance partner of mine?" Ash asked, just now realizing that she had no idea who this person was.
Tired of hearing all the arguing, Cadence decided to take her salad and try to find a seat where she could relax for a few minutes. This cheerleader outfit was horrid to wear in general, much less in a place where a colorful outfit like this would attract people wanting to talk. Finding a comfortable-looking chair near the bar, Cadence began walking toward it...until she heard someone rude at the bar. Giving a small glance toward Falken, Cadence rolls her eyes at the strange-looking man. The smell coming off of him reminded Cadence of the creature that was tied to a medal Cadence had picked up, only slightly less repulsive. Sitting down on the chair, Cadence takes out a small blade of grass from her pocket and began to make it grow and shift, until it was the size of a tennis ball. She tossed it up and down a few times, before stopping herself and adding a small jagged mouth to the ball that opened up, now looking like a green Pac-man with teeth. Next she made it grow two antenna, only adding more detail as she messed with the ball of plant matter. Doing these little creative exercises was relaxing.
Eri simply waited patiently, a bright smile on her face as she awaited Callis's answer; she simply assumed that he had a stutter, so he deserved her patience! "Callis...Nomene? What an interesting name, it's lovely to meet you, Callis. Ah, my last name is Neeve, but I'd love it if you called me by my first name." For someone who spent practically all of her time in Japan, Eri seemed very forward in her greetings and management of surnames. Typically, she should have referred to him by his last name, but it seemed she was just a little too friendly for her own good.
At his mention of the "Yatagarasu" branch, Eri let out a small "ooh" at the name, beaming once again immediately after. "Yatagarasu?" She spoke with perfect pronounciation, now more interested in ever with what Callis had to say; her knowledge of the Hidden World and its factions were very, very small, so this was news to her. "A Japanese section? I'm from Japan! Do you live around there?" Taken in by conversation, Eri hopped her way to Callis's side and looped her arm through his, dragging him with her as she chattered on. "BHA...I've heard that mentioned to? What is that? You're a part of it? Ah, your Japanese is so good! I didn't even realize until now that I could understand you!" With a closed-eye smile, Eri directed Callis, or more like dragged him, towards the bar where it seemed a few of her rowdier guests were now residing. "Ah , sorry about all the questions...It's just very interesting to me." Giving a small nod of her head in apology, as she'd imagined she was berating him too much, Eri dropped his arm and directed her attention to her rather...bulbous bar tender, squealing slightly at the look; it wasn't a squeal of terror, however.
Having brought Callis to the side nearest to Chase and Jenifer, who it seemed were somehow passive aggressively squabbling, Eri leaned over the wooden counter with her feet barely touching the ground as she reached out, her fingers making groping motions towards the bulbous mass of Jenifer's created costume head. "Wow! Jenifer, your head looks great! You did all that?" Clearly a handsy individual, Eri only giggled loudly while admiring the craftsmanship that Jenifer must have put into such a thing. "What a devoted person, you're fantastic! And I see you're doing your job as well, thank you so much for letting me hire you." Fawning ceaselessly, Eri practically lost her balance and simply caught herself by grasping at the other end of the bar, casually turning her head to the side to look at the rather petulant looking Chase. The only thing that seemed to glitter brighter than her accessories and makeup was her amused smile. "Neh neh, looks like you've been put in alcohol time out...but, I'll make an exception for you, just this once. I want every body to have a good time and I don't doubt that you're of age." Turning her attention back to Jenifer, she held her hands out again and patted at Jenifer's head. "I wonder how you even see in this...but anyways, Jenifer! You can pass ID'ing this one...and maybe the other one too." Casting her glance to the rowdy customer, Eri tried hard to remember if she'd seen Falken before...but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "Seems he's been drinking already anyways..."
Feeling more vigorous and excited than ever, Eri seemed to rebound back once again as she saw her favorite individual at the bar now as well. "Cadence!" Eri cried out, the sound piercing for just a moment and cracking the ring on her other hand before she brought her tone down once more, covering her mouth for just a moment...but not hiding the wide smile behind. "Cadence I can't say enough how adorable you are, I love that outfit so much!!" Similar to before, Eri had her arms around the doll's shoulders in a vice grip, rubbing her glittery cheek up against Cadence's while emitting a soft sort of whine of excitement. She still couldn't believe the introverted Doll would have come to this event! "Are you having fun? I mean more than usual...than if you were not here? I know these aren't your kind of things!" She chattered and chattered, but she didn't know how to stop, she was riding on a high she only really felt when performing; the kind of happiness that swelled to bursting in her chest and couldn't be released in any other way than through squeezing hugs and squealed words. "Thank you so much for coming, I really mean it!" Giving one more, python-like, constricting hug, Eri suddenly pressed a kiss into Cadence's cheek and hopped away as if it were complete normality for her; unfortunately, her next target for such attention was back to Callis once again.
"Callis! So you're here as an...'envoy'? Hehe...envoy. You're my guest, not an envoy!" She chided lightly and pressed her fingertips together in a steepled manner, smiling widely while looking up to him like an enthused child. "So, Yatagarasu branch...BHA...you've got to tell me more! And more about you! I've not heard a name like yours before, it's not exactly Japanese either..." The music played by the DJ she'd hired took a different kind of tone, slower than before now that they'd noticed people gathering on the floor. "Ohh...I love this song!" She spoke whimsically, bouncing on the balls of her feet in excitement. "Would you tell me more over a dance? I just can't sit still!" That smile made Fumi suddenly wish she'd taken him for all he had; the arrogance in that look! It was so snooty!! She only stuck her tongue out again when he called for her name and she could only let out a silent grumble at the irony; not like she could tell him anyways!
From the smoky like tendrils of her hair, Fumi produced another candy and tore off the shining wrapper, angrily chewing on it while pulling the hat tighter over her head; her hair was making it difficult to stay on. She had no time to be frustrated at that boy right now, there was something that required her attention MUCH more. Looking from beneath the bill of the hat, Fumi looked at the empty yet over-decorated banisters that separated a long fall from the floors above. This place was HUGE and it didn't look like there was any type of security whatsoever...so what was to stop her from snooping around a little bit?
Casting a sneaky look over her shoulders, Fumi pulled the hat back down and bit into the gummy candy once again, skipping forward to build a bit more speed then inhaling deeply. One moment she was there, the next she wasn't, and in her steed was a haze of smoke that wound its way to the floor above. Then she simply...was. Her small body was perched on the ledge and she finished hopping over, hunching down in the darker shadows of the less lit area and looking down below; everyone seemed preoccupied and she didn't think that weird guy would be too interested in watching where she went anyways.
Rubbing her hands together, Fumi sunk back into the hallway with a mischievous smile forming. Time to see how rich this hostess REALLY was. Oh she was just precious. Amai could feel the soft tug of her bait being taken by a hesitant fish, she just needed to keep up the temptation and perhaps she'd sink her hook in. With a charming smile, Amai followed after the enthusiastic girl and let out a delighted sigh; this one was cuter than the types she usually took to; distantly, Amai thought of the disgusting creature Falken was and couldn't help but find the comparison between these two hilarious. Regardless, she didn't have high standards anyways.
"I'll lead, if you'd like to spend the rest of the time showing off that elegant craftsmanship." Amai cooed softly while sliding her nimble fingers between the other girl's, dropping her hand to her waist to pull her in slightly, all while looking down with soft puffs of pink smoke occasionally pouring out from her nostrils. Between the glow of her eyes naturally, and the dim lighting of the room, Amai's gaze burned brightly and her smile, as innocent as it attempted to look, seemed far too predatory. Despite not having the same fangs here as Nicole, Amai couldn't wait to sink her own into the cute girl.
"My research, my legs, my head, my garden, my knives-" My, my, my, my, my! Their ceaseless moaning and groaning was giving him an ethereal headache! He wouldn't be able to listen to this for an eternity!! There was absolutely no way he'd give up the solace he'd built to this point!
The disgruntled spirit decided that there had to be action taken. There had to be reprimands for disturbing his peace! There had to be solutions to the problems that now plagued him as the many voices from the house cried out all together in a cacaphony that he simply couldn't escape; all he wanted was peace and quiet!!
Shifting through the house out of desire to right the wrongs he felt personally given to him, the unseen force was making its way towards the sudden source of lively noise. The time was getting closer, the moon was rising just high enough, and the date was absolutely perfect...he could make use of this for just a night.
From the ceiling, he glanced down, looking around with a squinted gaze. It was like trying to look through an opaque glass...but every hand that struck closer and closer to the later night made the glass grow clearer and clearer, all he'd have to do is wait...and then he could take action.
-ID?- Falken pulled his ID out of his jacket and placed it on the table. -Now you can give me your bloody best shot, literally and figuratively speaking.- The Infamous Mercenary heard Chase laugh behind him and turned to face the Soul Warrior, while lazily leaning against the counter. -And what’s your problem Blondie?- A very dangerous red brilliance started filling up Falken’s right eye. -You better shut up before something bad happens to you.-
Gen gutturally grunted at Martha, turning away from Shin for a split second. But his keen instincts allowed to notice the Mizukara Swordsman’s hand trying to get more food from the table. The Hot-Blooded Boxer’s hand shot through the air with incredible speed and tried to grasp Shin’s wrist. -What the fuck did I fuckin’ say?- He asked while his fingers tried to close around Shin’s arm. Either if he grabbed or he didn’t grab Shin, Gen also reacted to Thomas getting closer, glaring at the young priest while spewing a quick threat. -I don’t fuckin’ care, get fuckin’ lost or lose yer fuckin' teeth.- This was clearly a bad idea, bringing Gen into a crowd.
Rin shook his head in disbelief about Falken’s behaviour, but after taking a glance towards Gen she realized that she couldn’t judge, maybe Falken had some unresolved shit on his past that was making him act like a total douche. Still she had enough moodiness back at home with her brother to deal with this right now, so she decided to walk away and search for somebody to talk to. She saw another person alone, a young woman with green hair and she decided to start a conversation, waiting for people she knew could take a while.
She waited until Eri and Callis left to get closer to her.Rin saw Cadence playing with a blade of grass and gently cleared her throat before talking. -That seems really interesting.- And looked at the Doll creative exercises with interest. -Are you using some kind of magic or ki?-
Callis had to make an impossible effort to avoid passing out when Eri grabbed him by the arm. The Beast Knight tensed up to the point every step he took made him look more like a machine than a man. Her closeness and scent were intoxicating. -Y-yes I l-l-live i-i-in-in Ja-ja-japan.- Callis took a deep breath before continuing, every muscle on his body slowly locking down into a fixed position as he kept tensing up. -Ky-ky-kyo-to to-to be pre-pre-cise-se.- The Beast Knight’s mind could barely follow Eri’s barrage of question, even under normal circumstances, but right now with his judgement clouded by her proximity he was making an herculean effort to reply to any of the questions.
-Is t-t-he b-b-b-ounty hun-hunter a-a-a-ssocia-ciation.- When he mentioned his perfect Japanese he tried to explain as best as he could. -I d-d-don’t kno-know Ja-ja-japane-se.- He inhaled trying to keep his cool. -The-there is-is a trans-trans-la-tion spell allo-allowing me-me t-t-to ta-ta-talk.- The Beast Knight last line was cut by Eri’s enthusiastic conversation with Jennifer and then with Cadence. All the while Callis was accompanying her with a blank expression on his face and robotic steps. He felt stunned, as if his body was immersed deeply underwater, feeling sluggish with each move. She finished talking with the other guest and turned back to Callis. He wasn’t quite there, trying to keep hold of his sentience with all his willpower.
At first he didn’t register her request, following her to the dance floor and automatically taking a dancing stance. He was too gone to even realize what was happening. His body was still moving, but his mind wasn’t there at all. And his face couldn’t turn redder. If this continued he might actually pass out. If she got closer that would be not just a possibilty but a certainty.
"Remilia Arling," Remie said. Then she started dancing. Her moves were probably on Ash's level. Some of them seemed to be inspired by Dance Dance Revolution. Other she was just making up as she went along. "Is Ash your actual name, or just your superhero name?"
"Nice to meet you, Remillie Darling!" Ash called out, not really paying much attention to Remilia's name, as Ash was currently admiring herself in the polished dance floor. Hearing a question about herself, Ash perked up and pulled Remilia into a one-arm hug, her other hand pulling her cape in front of her face to try and appear mysterious. "While Ash is my perfect real name, my superhero identity is known only as; Heatwave!" Lifting Remilia up once more, Ash places her foot on top of a nearby chair and looks triumphantly up at a corner of the ceiling, directly under one of the lights. "Fighting for justice, fame and glory...I shall be known as a shining beacon of hope!" Ash boasted, not even really noticing that she was holding another human being currently.
Cadence's eyes looked on as she noticed Eri approaching, placing the tiny plant creation down on a nearby table as the plant doll was subjected to yet another series of hugs and cheek-rubbing that made more glitter flake into Cadence's hair than ever, making her stand out even more. Why was this loud woman insistent on bothering her, even when there are seemingly dozens of other people in attendance? "...I suppose..." She blankly stated, not wanting to sound too rude to someone who probably paid a fortune to throw this party. Luckily, Eri seemed to be moving onto the rest of the party with some man dressed in a furry suit. "...thanks..." And with Eri turning back, Cadence blankly gave a small wave of goodbye, shaking one of her pink pom-poms in her right hand as she waved.
But just as one person leaves, another walked up to start another conversation. Some woman dressed as...a cyborg? Cadence didn't bother watching any TV or movies if they weren't already on when in the living room, so she had no idea that Mad Max was even a movie franchise. Giving a small nod, Cadence picks up the little plant creature and makes tiny bat-like wings grow out of the sides, beginning to flap and float in mid-air. A tiny white flower appeared on the right side of the plant, Cadence only adding that for additional cute factor. "...I think it's magic...I can manipulate plants...but you can see that...huh..." Pausing for a moment, Cadence gives the floating creature a tiny poke, making it rock back and forth like a pendulum for a few moments. "...I'm Cadence...what's your name...?"
"Of course, sir." Jen nodded and poured a shot for Falken. Her eyes widened when Chase popped a flame on his hand. "Are you threatening me?" She growled. She put up with more shit on the job than any human being should, but that was too far. When her boss came, she made a snap decision. "Mam, this man threatened me." Few bosses would she dare step out of line like this with, but Eri was friendly enough. She should take her side in this. "Sure, you can-ack!" Nicole toppled as soon as the dance began, clumsy feet tripping over each other. Instead of smashing hard into the ground, her descent was slowed to a crawl and she floated gently to the floor. "I'm okay!" She called. Normally she felt she'd be mad, but something about this lady's touch was making her feel kinder. She couldn't grasp just what it was, but she liked it. "Let's try that again!" Nicole awkwardly attempted to find where her hands went again. Why was she so incapable!? Frustration seethed beneath the surface, only not erupting due to these new feelings. She had to look good in front of Amai, although she didn't know just why that was important. "Huh?" Martha looked at the odd teenager with white hair just like hers. "Costume? I dunno, some nerd shit. My sister came up with it." Martha smiled a little thinking of her little sister's enthusiasm. Martha may not care about this Halloween nonsense, but her sister's joy rubbed off on her a little at least. "Wait a second... we've met! On that dumb mission in Japan! You took all the food!" Martha's voice raise as she found out Shin's identity. He was just old enough she wouldn't feel bad beating him.
Just before Chase could reply to Jennifer that he is simply messing around, Desperado decides to threaten him, which only causes him to chuckle. He stares right into Falken's glowing red eye without a shred of fear. "Oye Mexican MegaMan, I don't care about the whole intimidation thing, so you can just go ahead and go back to whatever mad scientist made you. But if you want to make my night, go ahead." Suddenly a disturbance begins to register on his spiritual radar, causing him to adjust his eyes to the ceiling as if someone is looking back at him. "What the hell is going on here?" he thought.
"For the last time, I didn't take anything. That was my clone." As he tries to defend himself, he simultaneously also reaches for a sandwich, but before he could grab it, Gen goes to grab his wrist. His reflexes kick in and his arm quickly maneuvers around larger man's hand, while also attempting to retrieve the desired sandwich, but before his fingers grasp the precious food, a new individual enters the food war. At first he is a bit shocked from Thomas' sudden appearance to act, but it doesn't take long for him to snap out of it. "Hi Thomas." he said without any ill will. "Care to join us?"
Remaining silent for a few seconds, Smith considers his next words carefully. Eventually he tells Arlana, "I'm searching for the right people for a particular assignment. However, for a few reasons I won't be able to share anything about it tonight. I hope you can understand. I don't wish to leave you in the dark, but the less people who know about it, especially in the magic community, the better." He waits a few seconds before adding,"But if you wish to learn more about it..." He offers her a small and plain black card containing a cell phone number written across in bold golden letters. "Wait until you receive a message from this number, and from there you will have to make a decision. Yet, whatever you end up choosing to do, please keep the information to yourself."
