Alex studies the man's words and actions carefully. Regardless what Eve believes, he has a certain amount of tolerance and principles that he follows when dealing with his own kind, and as far as he can tell, this man appears to be human. However, his mannerism and ease of being surrounded by them and still warning them to about being on the wrong side, along with the little magic trick, makes the gruesome hunter a bit uneasy about the fellow. He doesn't enjoy dealing with unknown elements, especially if those elements touch upon the supernatural. Yet, there is just something about this guy that just doesn't sit well with him. He keeps his rather gigantic eye on the man as he tries to figure out what exactly is this fellow.
Jose could feel the footsteps and attempts to warn the others, but for some strange reason his words couldn't reach them. The surprise of not being able to hear his own voice causes the bounty hunter to hesitate and not react fast enough to the magic being cast. Before he could make a proper movement, the lighting cage has trapped them. After John uses his flames, he quickly realize they could talk again. As the demon attempts to negotiate with their attackers, the earth shaker turns towards Alex for a moment as if anticipating his next movement. If worse comes to worse, he will just dig them out of this situation, or try to create an earth dome and expand beyond the lighting cage's range in order to create a safe passage for him and his teammates to escape this cage. Or maybe even a combination of the two...But nevertheless, his first goal is to get Reiji's student out of danger. While they communicate with the mages , he carefully starts to establish certain preparations with the earth.

Victor knew that one of the keys to succesfully remaining invisible was learning how to lay on the ground without having anyone step on you. He threw himself on the ground and rolled over a bit, watching out not to get into contact with the dancing lights. He then materialized his staff and kept it invisible. Victor separated the staff on its two halves, and threw them towards the edges of the fog, where he imagined were a bunch of smiling mages in robes. One of the clubs, he threw it in a fast straight line; the other, he threw it upwards in a long parable, hoping to hit enemies that were closer, by having the club fall on top of one of them.

Both of the HWIC agents followed the group, Mizuki not being able to find anything by scanning the room with her heat-sensing eyes. She could only tell that this fog wasn't natural at all...her magic sensors making the entire area light up bright blue in her eyes. She was about to tell the group to be careful...but her quiet tone didn't make it far past her lips as the fog made it completely inaudible to anyone nearby. As soon as Callis yelled out, however, the agent dashed away from the spears and held out both her hands in a fighting stance, not bothering to unsheath her daggers for fear of causing the lightning to arc into the metal blades and shock her. Alex had a calmer response, merely looking around at the cage they soon found themselves in.
"Mr. Nomene, I didn't know you were versed with magical incantation." Alex remarked, not having guessed that a warrior such as Callis would know much about magical spells that swordsmen didn't tend to use. Looking past the cave, Alex tries to find the culprits. "We are merely passing through this land! We have no ill will toward any of you!" Alex calls out, trying to settle matters with diplomacy before resorting to revealing his portal powers and releasing everyone from this prison. If the situation should come to that...so be it.

-Party bloody pooper…- Falken grumbled as he leaned against a wall, now bored without the prospect of gutting this italian idiot open and using his intestines as a very expensive and slippery jump-rope. Yes, a bored Falken is an even more violent Falken, if that’s even possible. Garo was silent, looking around the museum with vague interest. The Old Archer, even after meeting one of the JHWAB greatest foes face to face, couldn’t contain the amazement interdimensional travel was giving him. For a man who has seen many strange things finding out something new was quite an occasion, he was almost tempted to make the white room his personal vacation spot if they ever left in one piece.
-Interdimensional? Dio mio! That’s a new one.- He stroked his sharp goatee with one hand finally he snapped his fingers as if he realized something. -So you are basically tourists in this beautiful yet oppressed country.- He turned around opening his arms as wide as he could in a extremely theatrical manner, every gesture he made followed that same almost exaggerated choice of aesthetics. -This land, so bountiful and rich in gold, silver, wine, women and jewels, yet dead inside.- He faced them once again, a hint of danger on his eyes as his voice grew darker and lower. -Like a rotten apple that only seems healthy in the surface yet it’s core has been compromised!- His monologue stopped as he heard bells ringing on the distance.
The hint of seriousness evaporate from his semblance returning to his dashing smile. -I would like to stay and serve as your improvised tour guide, yet I’ve to run, Il tempo non aspetta nessuno.- He bowed once again and started walking towards his right, our daring group left, but as he did the lights over them suddenly turned on and from both sides of the corridor a flood of men dressed in black shirts carrying small electronic implants on the side of their heads, right besides their left eye. The implants ended in triangular monocles with the point aiming at the bridge of their nose. Their clothing seemed out of date for about 60 years to any of the members of the group, at least in relation with usual clothing in the modern world.
-Tutti giù o spareremo!- They shouted in Italian. Anybody proficient with the language as Falken was would know they were asking them to lie down or they would shoot. -Andiamo! Dai! Velocemente!- (Come one, do it fast!) The Enigmatic Thief looked to both sides and with a sarcastic smile. -Oh I think I forgot my invitation to this party.- He made a strange movement with both hands, akin to a magician doing a trick on the stage and from out of nowhere two large roses appeared on his hands. -Silly me, I do have one… or a couple.- he winked at the guards. -Just try not to get a prick…- He stopped for a second as they were slowly closing in with their weapons up high. -Thinking twice you’re already pricks so it would be something that bothers you.-
The group was surrounded and the door wasn’t working anymore, now it only showed a white wall behind it instead of the strange Dimensional Waypoint they were before.
The Lighting Cage seemed to grew more powerful as it sucked the magical energy from the fog into it, even sucking up the kinetic energy out of the weapons launched by Victor, slowly revealing their surroundings. They were in the ruins of what once was a great castle, with seven large towers, at least that much anybody could guess from the remaining stone skeleton. The blocks that made the ruined walls were scorched as if a powerful fire had blasted ashes into the stone itself, rather than just covering it. Among this pitch black rocks men with blue cloaks and hoods wielding quarterstaffs with glowing white-pink crystals on top where surrounding the group. Clearly the staffs seemed to be the ones channeling the energy that was keeping the cage on. But there was more to see beyond the things that were close by, since the castle ruins rested atop a hill overseeing a large valley.
A large city, with blue tiles rooftops sprinkled with snow expanded in the valley below their current position, hundreds if not thousands of buildings following a river that fell as a waterfall from the side of the castle towards what they could presume was the west, as the sun was setting in that direction. To their right another large building, barely smaller that what the castle on its primer was, towered over the city, with 5 large towers that started as one,and then split up. Callis pointed at the building, with tears slowly rolling out of his eyes. -I know about magic because I went to that school when I was young.- He made a pause looking away while cleaning the tears from his eyes with his sleeve. -I know these spells because I once lived in this city… in this kingdom…- The Beast Knight swallowed, incapable of continuing, feeling his throat drying with every word that came out from it. - In this world… Mes Miyata… This is the world I came from….- He exhaled, a sadness filled sigh followed that before he stopped speaking. -This is Centris.-
As he finished to utter those words a couple of the hooded figures got closer. They were speaking among each other. -Qualis enim loquitur lingua?- The shorter one asked to the taller one, who had a greying beard popping out the shadow casted by the hood. -Et non insonuerit Urbani, Morbani uel Ginei.- The short one inquired again, at least that could be understood from his tone of voice, as both paced around the cage looking inside. -Forte illi sunt Pahoi?- The bearded one stopped and waved his hand in front of his body. Blue energy surged from it forming a crystalline pane through which he watched them with interest. He turned to the shorter man, seemingly replying to his question. -Non carent pilis, et aureos, et videte dolorem.-
As he said that he stopped as his eyes reached Callis. The man was really silent, his body stiffened as he stood as upright as he could. He turned around and barked orders. -Solve decipula! Nunc!- The hooded figures around them exchanged confused looks. One of them asked something. -Quid est? Numquid non sunt immortui.- But the Bearded Man shouted again as he pointed his staff at Callis. -Numquid et vos fascinavit? Id est Callis Nomene, Heros de Via.- A general shock took over the hooded men and they lowered their staffs the cage of lighting dispersing as they did. The Bearded Man looked at the group and raised his staff as he casted.
Intellige Lingua LX Minuta.
The man lowered his hood revealing that he was around 50-60 years old, with strange tattoos coursing the right side of his body, more like lines in a circuit map than anything else. He had striking blue eyes and was bald. With a wide smile, that made his whole face wrinkle he proclaimed, now in what seemed to the group as English. -Welcome back Callis Nomene, Regulus Aurora Ensis, Hero of Via, Saviour of Rigel, Vanquisher of the Necromancer, General of the Armies of the North and Champion of this world!- Every other men surrounding them lowered their hoods and kneeled around them. The Leader of the group continued. -Now in our hour of need the all-powerful Vis that surrounds and binds us all has brought you back to complete your mission and rid the world from the undead scourge that remains.-
The Beast Knight couldn’t believe what he was hearing, or what he was watching, surrounded of Viani mages who not only seemed happy to see him but also were kneeling to him. Even acknowledging his foreign titles. This couldn’t be Centris…. There was no way this was happening. He could only manage to utter. -In the name of the Old Magus...What is happening here?-

Fumi couldn't help but feel bored with all the talking. She'd been thrust into her favorite type of environment and wasn't allowed to touch anything...though that hadn't stopped her from stealing her initial first mark. Fumi would have loved nothing more than to take a bit more time and listen to a lot less talking bout things that meant so little to her; corruption in a world? Oh boy that was never ever heard of.
Rolling her dark red eyes, Fumi was quietly moving behind her bigger and more prominent companions with a sulk in her step, only looking to attention when loud bells started ringing and suddenly she was temporarily blinded by light. Oh boy, even in this dimension that meant nothing good!! With her entire body taught with energy and the promise of a chase, Fumi immediately set her gazes to the door behind the group...but unlike the one they'd endured before, this door was closed!! Fumi's lips formed a silent curse and she pressed her hand against the wall, hoping it was some kind of joke or trick...but no, it was solid wall!! Fumi turned around to alert her companions of their new situation, but it seemed there were now more pressing matters coming in from all sides. These guys, who Fumi could just pretty much assume to be guards, had them surrounded; Fumi didn't know how things exactly worked here, but in her professional experience, being surrounded by guards in a high class museum while they pointed guns at you typically made for a particularly dangerous night.
The small thief was distraught on her feet, eyebrows furrowed hard while she bounced from foot to foot. Again, Fumi didn't entirely want to abandon these people...but up unto this point, her survival rate was not very high with them. Silently muttering a curse her old caretakers would have immediately, and harshly, reprimanded her for even thinking to say, Fumi sucked in a breath. Closest to Eve's back, Fumi's small head with puffy hair was peeking over the larger woman's side, but from the knee down she was already dispersing; she wasn't getting out of here if she was dead!

Eve glanced around the room as the thief spoke. It was as gorgeous as he said, if you liked useless gold and marble anyway. Eve preferred her cash in bankable form and her shiny things to be weapons. "Uh-huh. Oppressed and whatnot. Well, see you." Eve would be glad to be rid of this man. So long as she didn't have to deal with environmental factors like no air, people were the most risky factor in going through these doors. Unfortunately other people appeared just as she was welcoming solitude.
Eve didn't speak what she guessed was Italian, but she got the general gist. "Okay Falken, these you can hurt. Just try not to kill, okay?" These cops were, after all, in the right here. The thief was a thief and they looked like thieves as well. But that didn't mean she was going to come quietly. "Fumi, stay back. Alex, don't let anybody else get in. Garo, take any who get past me and Falken." With that, Eve rushed to throw quick (for her) jabs for the sides of the guards. They wouldn't be fatal to a regular human, but they were powerful enough to crack their ribs.
John relaxed a little as the lightening cage lowered. Things were looking up, at least as far as she could tell. He still couldn't tell exactly what was going on, but he guessed that the trap was out of fear of the door they came through. The explanation honestly didn't help. It really kind of made it more confusing. "Wait... you know these guys? And you're a general? Heh, damn." This guy was more interesting than he thought. He let himself scan Callis again before stepping forward. There would be time for flirting later. Much later. Right now was making sure he was okay. "Callis, you okay? What exactly is going on here?" He put a hand on the knight's shoulder in a gesture of comfort.

A bit bummed out, Victor dematerialized his clubs, wherever they were, with just a thought. Then he moved to the front of the group, near Callis; it took him some time because he had to do it without anyone noticing that there was someone invisible moving through the group, very nearly bumping with his new teammates. With as much care as he could, he placed himself near Callis' head to whisper. Crossing his fingers in hope that the Beast Knight wouldn't freak out on him on account of a whisper coming from nowhere, Victor said:
"Make sure this isn't an illusion, make sure this room isn't simply showing you your innermost dreams."

Squinting at the surrounding scenery as the world opened up more, Alex began to note the specific details that he was seeing in this realm. The landscape was strangely Earth-like, with buildings reminiscent of European architecture that had a small amount of snow on top. However, the last part of Callis's explanation was the main thing Alex took note of. "You're...from here?" By the sound of it, The beast knight was a hero around these lands, the man addressing him with many honorific titles. Relaxing a little, Alex hears John ask Callis about the situation, so him asking would only be redundant. Instead, the HWIC leader turns toward the (supposed) leader of the mages and begins speaking. "Sir, if I may inquire...how long has Mr. Nomene been away from this realm?" Even though Alex was one of the top leaders of the HWIC, Callis was a relatively low risk individual, so his division didn't need to keep much of an eye on him. As such, Alex didn't know much about Callis being trapped in their realm, or many other details for that matter.
Mizuki, meanwhile, stayed silent and ceased her heat and magical sensing powers. The assassin did keep her mask on, however, still not trusting these people they've met and not willing to reveal her identity just yet to these individuals.

Remaining silent, the earth shaker studies the group surrounding them. Even after hearing their connection to Callis, he couldn't help but keep his guard up, especially when he has the job to protect an unconscious Gen. On the outside his face remains stone cold as he couldn't help but prepare for the worse. Yet, on the inside he his mind begins to imagine what Callis is experiencing. He didn't know the Beast Knight too well, but he could get a small jest of the overwhelming build up of emotions.
Listening to Eve's order, the gruesome ghoul unleashes his wire threads with a series of hand gestures as he prepress to prevent anyone more people from getting in. Yet he isn't planning on killing anyone of them. After all, he didn't take pleasure from killing the authorities like he does with the scum. Anyone nearby cops to him, he quickly begins to wrap his wire threads around their bodies as he prepares to restrain them before he proceeding closer to the entrances.

-You’re getting boring sweet-cheeks.- Falken pushed his hand through one of his Arsenal Portals, plunging it deep inside the green ring of energy and shuffled around. He tentatively grasped for weapons while moving his closed lips from side to side as if he was trying to choose. -Not this one, too stabby.- He continued doing what he was doing as Garo shook his head and sighed, filled with frustration. -Nah, this one has a flamethrower, I would be to bloody tempted to use it.- The Infamous Mercenary was too focused on browsing his arsenal to see the Old Archer moving in front of him and readying his bow to start throwing arrows in the guards’ direction. Falken kept shuffling, now with both hands as Garo drew several arrows from his quiver and launched them in direction to the guards, hitting them in the joints (Knees, elbows and shoulders)
Half a dozen guards fell on the floor grabbing the arrows piercing their flesh. Proving that even if you become a guard you might end up getting an arrow to the knee. In the other side of the hallway the guards tried to escape, only to find Alex’s wires blocking the way out. -Nope, not the death beam.- As the ⅔ of the remaining guards tried in vain to break through the Grotesque Hunter barricade while the other third charged forward ready to capture them, surely to get some kind of reward from their superiors. They didn’t have a chance. Eve turned into a flurry of motion connecting devastating blows and knocking them out cold. They few she didn’t get also dropped to the ground, with roses piercing their bodies. It seems that Phantom Thief Red Rose was quick on the draw. -Not so fast my friends.- He proclaimed after launching the flowers with deadly accuracy and surprising penetration power.
As the bodies hit the floor a small green light appeared over the door where the group came from. And still then Falken was still checking his weapons. -Too sharp… Not sharp enough… Too bloody boring.-
-I am not exactly sure myself to be honest.- Callis replied to John’s question, his tone was a clear indicator of how confused he was. He got even more confused when he heard Victor’s whisper, but quickly realized, thanks to his nose, that it was the young man with the armor speaking, surely he had some kind of invisibility spell at hand. The Beast Knight was baffled beyond logic and dazed as he was he looked around trying to find something that seemed out of place, but the more he looked the more he realized that he was in the right place. While he was looking around and drinking the atmosphere in, Cinerus, the High Magus, replied to Alex’s question. -The Hero of Via disappeared 3 years ago after defeating the dread necromancer Tempestis.-
The old mage spit on the ground with disgust, as if just saying the name filled his mouth with a foul flavor. -The nature of Mes Nomene...- Callis flinched when he heard his name being accompanied by an honorific like Mes, it was the first time on his life this ever happened. Cinerus continued talking after a brief pause, reacting to Callis surprise. -Disappearance was magical, so the lack of any evidence of his death was taken as sign of some kind of displacement spell.- The old man covered his mouth as his eyes shined with contained tear, clearly he was trying to fight off a wave of emotions. -Some lost hope of his return, but most of us kept waiting for his arrival so we could receive him as the hero he is.- Cinerus snapped his fingers and the men in robes lifted their staves, shooting dazzling lights over their heads.
The High Magus kneeled to the increasingly confused Callis and so did all the other figures in robes. The fog kept clearing up as more of the surroundings got revealed. The Beast Knight could feel his pulse quickening. His heartbeat thundering through his veins as his eyes looked around ever faster. -This place… Is the Royal Castle!?- The ruins of a once great edification was all that remained around him. The Beast Knight inquired further, as Cinerus stood up. -What happened to the Royal Family? Is any of them alive? The Queen? The Prince? Count Canes?- He asked for Queen Stella, Prince Juvenius and Count Canes, the High Lord of Knights and consort to the Queen. Once again Cinerus expression turned sour as he moved his mouth, just like before, as if he was tasting something awful. -The Queen involvement was discovered and she was put to death. Her son died during the collapse of the Castle and Count Canes was gravely injured. He was the one who told the story of your heroic victory before passing away and joining with the Vis-
For a brief moment Callis felt a tinge of sadness. He knew the Queen deserved what she got for helping the Necromancer, but the young prince and Count Canes didn’t deserve to die. But that sadness was replaced quickly by a strange feeling of vacuum, a feeling that made him ask another question. -So no member of the Royal Family is alive? Did they all perish?- Cinerus quickly replied. -Yes, most of the high ranking nobles in the Kingdom died alongside the Queen, being part of her inner circle.- Cinerus looked to the side, with a shame on his face. -Things got out of control, the vacuum of power caused the peasants to rebel and kill the remaining high ranking nobles that managed to escape. It was a time of bloody turmoil.- The Beast Knight expression grew sadder once again, imagining the hopeless situation for the people.
-Yet we managed to rebuild.- Cinerus swiftly explained after seeing Callis’ face. -We established a joint government, a council of the people and the Mages.- The High Magus pointed at the city down in the valley. -Rigel was saved and the Pax Nomene, based on your principles, started to protect us from the remainder of the Undead Horde Tempestis led, most of them still clawing their way from the Royal Cripts underneath us.- The High Magus quickly added. - Still we are searching for a suitable King, as is not the council interest to remain in power.- The Beast Knight, now more interested, hoping to see if any of his relatives was alive, asked. -So are there any suitable candidates?- Cinerus took a brief pause. -There is only one remaining High Noble, yet he was unavailable up until recently, but I think he might be able to take the crown.- The Beast Knight opened his eyes in shock. -Who is it? Count Tobias? Marquis Maximus?- Callis mentioned some of the most decent nobles he could think off.
-It is you Callis Nomene.- Cinerus kneeled again. -You’re the only one remaining in the line of succession, after the 25 other noblemen and noblewomen died...- Cinerus made a small pause before bowing even more. -And the rightful heir to the Throne of Via.-
As Callis was receiving a world shattering revelation both Jose and Mizuki would be able to notice the incoming danger, as something was moving below them, quickly digging towards the surface.

Fumi was rapidly bobbing side to side, being still like a sitting duck was going against everything she’d ever taught herself; she just wanted to ditch everyone here and get out! Thankfully...seemed her companions were better at this kind of thing than her, well...most of them. Fumi cut her gaze to Falken still shoving his arm through his weird portals, her expression deadpan as he spoke to himself again and again. Was this guy...serious? Reforming her feet, Fumi sucked in a deep breath that she’d forgotten she’d been holding, tapping her feet against the cold marble before moving forward towards the rest of her useful members.
Crouching down to one of the guards, Fumi hummed a silent tune to herself within her head and after pushing on them to see if they’d move, satisfied that they did not, Fumi pursed her lips and mimicked whistling while she began to pat down the guard, searching through his pockets for something...well, anything. They didn’t need it! The small girl seemed disappointed though, turning up empty. The only thing this guy had was the weird stuff on his head and his gun...of which she kicked away with her foot before prodding the incapacitated guard with the same foot over and over again, rocking him from side to side like a child with a bored toy. Fumi had to deal with sitting still and this was the thanks she got?? However, the small girl’s eyes lit up as she looked back to the remaining cases across the room, she wouldn’t mind taking another souvenir...Anyone near enough to see her face could see the girl was up to no good.

Both Alex and Mizuki listened to Cinerus speak to Callis, trying to understand the structure of this world and how it related to the Beast Knight. So their queen helped this necromancer, whom Callis killed before he disappeared into their world, and as a result was put to death by their people. The resulting power vacuum killed all the remaining nobles, leaving nobody to rule besides the council of mages and citizens. However...it appeared as if Callis was the only one in line to take the throne now that he had returned to the land. But there was one problem...if Callis stayed here, none of them would able to get back to their world.
Seeing that everyone else was distracted listening to Cinerus, Mizuki began scanning the area for magic and heat signatures, not seeing much in the distance thankfully. However, as she looked down at the ground...she saw the vague outline of something approaching them...and fast. "Everyone, move! Something is below us!" Mizuki shouts out, not really caring if she cuts off the person currently speaking. Alex immediately created a portal in front of him that sent the Enforcement leader several meters away, near where the mages were standing. Mizuki meanwhile leaps to the side and climbs up a nearby pillar, glaring down at the signature underground that was quickly approaching the surface. Just what was this thing?!

"Listen to the French man, monarchies are bad news." John cautioned. Regardless of nationality, it seemed old fashioned. He supposed they were in a castle. More of a palace really, this place didn't look all that well defended. Didn't they already have a council going on? That was almost democracy. And even if Callis was a good king, which John wasn't sure of anyway given he didn't know him very well, genetics didn't guarantee anything. He was about to continue arguing his position when Mizuki gave her warning. Callis being the closest to him, John grabbed him before taking off into the sky with wings stretched wide. He couldn't fly with more than one person, so he grabbed the one who was distracted and seemed vulnerable. He sure got to pick this guy up a lot. Lucky him.
Eve was tempted to clock Falken too when she was done cleaning up the police. "Thanks a lot Falken. Everybody hit the door." Eve knelt to inspect the electronics on the heads of the unconscious guards. Could she take them without harming their owners? If she could, she'd grab a few and take them. Either way, she did grab and inspect a gun. If it seemed at all different to an ordinary pistol from her world, she would pocket two.
Otherwise she gently set them down. She paused before walking back to the door. "Thanks for helping out. You have fun with all that gold." She was tempted to grab some gold, but she only had so much pocket space and she wanted to fill it with gadgets more than cash. Besides, it wouldn't be easy to sell that stuff off. "Alright team, let's regroup on the other side." She stepped through the door, making sure the others were coming as well.

Sensing the danger below, the earth shaker stomps the ground as he commands the Earth below to condense as he plans to trap who is underground there, or at the very least give his team enough time to react to the approaching danger. As his foot touches the ground the and earth tightens, he also commands the minerals in the ground to help push him up towards the air as he leaps a few dozen meters into the air. Once in the air, he focuses on the ground again. With his hand pointing towards the earth, he begins to command the ground to become even denser around the incoming foes. Again, he hopes his efforts would be able to stop, or at least slow down, the threat. However, he didn't want to put Gen into risk at the same time should his efforts fail miserably. He debates his next move carefully...
Satisfied with his work, the gruesome hunter steps through the door behind Eve without waiting for anyone else. As this world didn't interested him too, he lack any curiosity to explore it. Hopefully the next one would prove to be more interesting. And more importantly, if he gets a chance to face off against some interesting monster.

Oh, this is great. This is just great. You prepare yourself for palace intrigue, cloak-and-dagger action, power struggle, treachery; you become invisible, and RIGHT then SOMETHING happens. What it was, Victor couldn't know; but he knew he wished he was visible, so that his comrades could fly him to safety, him too. Instead, everyone would probably ignore him, just as this earthquake, mole monster or forgotten god of the underrealm made its way towards them. Would he be invisible to whatever was coming next? He wished, but most times he didn't turn out to be...
Enough neurosis, Victor decided. (Or was it Tigerbot's voice in his head?) Without bothering to become visible, Victor jumped to the nearest palace wall, used his claws to attach to it and climbed. Other people would see punctured holes and claw marks suddenly appear on the wall one after the other, going up. If the problem was coming from the ground, better be near the roof.
He looked around, wanting to know if there was something around he could use as a weapon, preferably a ranged one, also at the structure of the ceiling: Where there beams, were there wooden or marble, were there chandeliers?

-Hey you asked me to be careful, I don’t have Nerf guns in my bloody arsenal.- Falken replied annoyed to Eve’s sarcastic remark as he kept shuffling through his stuff until his scowl turned into a dumb smile and he pulled something out of it. -Oh, nevermind, I didn’t realize I actually had one.- He said while looking at a very elaborate Nerf Gun. -I totally forgot I had one, I could’ve used it to shot them in the eyes…- Falken looked at the downed guards and then heard Eve’s order. -Well I could’ve at least annoy them with it- He said while crossing the door. Garo followed behind and repplied. -You wouldn’t need a toy gun to annoy them.- The Psycho Cyborg glared at the Old Archer, who was aloof and relaxed, even under the fiery eyes of Falken. Hopefully the others would close the door quick and they advanced forward, at least that was that Garo wanted, as the bad feeling he was having about this place only grew stronger with each passing moment.
But as they bickered a tremor shook the hallway and the windows, as large spotlights passed through the glass, illuminating the whole room with almost blinding intensity. A Metallic Behemoth was rolling towards the group, basically an extremely large tank, with large plating and a massive cannon. -Oh, I was worried this would happen…- The Phantom Thief of the Rose sighed as the tank moved ever closer. The gigantic machine of war carried green, white and red banners with a strange axe, it’s shaft was surrounded by bound wooden sticks, as its emblem. -They brought the cavalry.- He looked towards the group and gestured them to leave. -Well if you can leave you better do it, because this isn’t going to be pretty and I would die before showing something awful to a pair of ladies.- Resolve shined on his eyes as he spoke, yet something was off about him, maybe the powerful light was hindering the sight of those watching him.
The ground cracked underneath them, with dozens… no, hundreds of fingers crawling through it like maggots infesting fruit. Callis was so shaken he didn’t even notice the very particular smell of the undead excavating their way to the surface. Maybe all of Centris was more concerned with the Unda coming from the frozen North, but to the Beast Knight the undead were truly his nemesis, creatures that reminded him more of his beast-like side, as the Unda, for all their faults, didn’t eat humans. Plus the undead were only created through the misuse of magic, a force Callis was taught since he was young to respect and cherish. To him they were a perversion of everything he stood for.
The Undead clawed their way out the ground, most of the Magus surrounding the group were levitating, so was Cinerus already wielding his staff. The once human monsters wore ragged scraps of clothing, dyed in red and brown from blood and dirt. Their skin was grey with greenish tones, the same green as the light shining in their eyes and extending through their veins. These were “Modern” undead, the ones created by using a modified version of the Scripti School of Magic. Long story short they were drained from their blood and pumped with liquified Cibus (Rare mineral also used for Magical Staffs) and charged with magic, bound to the power of a necromancer or a relic carried by him.
The Beast Knight glare was of complete hatred and repulsion, it looked a bit ridiculous as he was being held by John, flying overhead the creatures. Cinerus, looking at Callis explained for all to hear. - When you killed the Necromancer and shattered his relic the contained energies of corrupted Vis moved like a wave through Via, part of the Scripti System in the city got infected by it and sipped into the corpses left by the final battle.- Cinerus pointed at the undead below him, that moved quite fast, almost feral-like and growled at them, looking for any ruin high enough to climb and jump of them, some of them already climbing broken columns and deteriorated walls like spiders. -The dead became an army for a missing General and started flocking to the ruins of the castle, the Council formed a joint force to hunt them and find their nest.-
Callis heard the words and decided to act on them, as they kept flowing from the ground like a torrent of putrid flesh and tainted Vis. The Beast Knight looked at his comrades. -I think the door brought us here for a reason.- He looked at Cinerus then. -But is not to make me King of Via…- The High Magus gasped and Callis, looking down, with a sorrowful face continued. -Neither is just to stay here, because it would trap all of you with me.- He raised his face, his eyes were shining with contained tears and flooding emotions. -I do not know if I will ever have another chance to come back.- Callis made a pause, feeling the weight of those words. -But I know one thing, I was tasked to lead this group, I vowed to fulfill that mission, just I vowed to protect anybody who needs it.- He glared at the undead underneath him. -So I will fight this monsters and I request your help to do it.-
His blue eyes passed over the faces of the group. -I know this might be asking much, but you are free to deny my request… Yet I do have a responsibility here.- Callis broke off John’s grip, landing on a column under him. -This was caused by my fight, even if I killed the necromancer I released a blight on this world.- Cinerus interrupted Callis trying to stop him. -Is not your fault Mes Nomene, you fought… even with everyone abandoning your side, even with people betraying you for something as insignificant as your blood.- The High Magus seemed ashamed. -Even I was one of the people who hated you just for your origins…- The old wizard eyes started to swell with tears. -You gave it all for us and we never accepted you… And now you plan to risk your life again, even when you could be a King… Why?- Callis smiled with a streak of sadness. -At first I almost considered your offer, but when you revealed the end of the Royal Line I realized that the only thing in me that wanted to come back to Centris doesn’t exist anymore.-
-My loyalty to the crown, even a corrupted one, was the only thing keeping me from severing my ties with Centris.- The Beast Knight lowered his head again, this time looking at the undead clawing their way towards him. -But now I have new vows, new comrades and a new world to protect.- One of the Notio Gladius manifested on Callis hand, shining so brightly that the undead vermin below him staggered back. - I will clean this up, but I will not become King of Via… I prefer being an ideal that people aspire to become rather than an individual with faults and mistakes that might tarnish what the people of Via accomplished after I vanished.- A second blade surged like white lightning out of Callis palm. -But I will fight for Via one more time… For the last time.- And he then turned to the others. -I beg of you to help me….- He went on one knee. - I implore for your help to clean a mistake of my past so I can stride forward.- He stood up and shifted both blades into a reverse grip.
-But Mes Nomene, we need you, Via needs a King.- Cinerus begged Callis who seemed just about to jump into the ever increasing mass of undead beneath him. -Just copy the Urbani system high Magus.- Callis calmly referred to the Democratic Republic of Urbis what sparked a nod of understanding by Cinerus. - The world I was casted off uses a similar method and most of the time works.- Cinerus nodded, a bit confused by the whole situation, as The Beast Knight was getting ready to charge down. He gave a last glance to the others and just uttered. - I will…- He made a pause, shaking his head. - No… I’ll go now, feel free to follow me.- And with that, maybe a final tie being cut by him the Beast Knight roared down the column, cutting, hacking and slashing anything that came towards him. This was Callis at his best, completely unhinged of moral doubts and fears. It was beautiful, almost like dancing.
His white blades moved so fast they turned into alabaster streams of light, left behind his even faster body as he zig-zagged over ruins and corpses slashing everything around him. It was clear the undead were faster than zombies, but they might be stopped in time for all that Callis cared, considering how fast he was moving. The violent ballet of blades started and like a whirling dervish of legend it didn’t seem able to be stopped. The white light around the swords slowly climbed through the Beast Knight veins, filling up his eyes as he waged a war the forgot to end 5 years ago.

As the mass of hands erupted out of the ground, Mizuki could instantly tell from their decrepit appearance that they were a mass of undead of some sort. Even all the way out here...I am still dealing with the undead?! The young assassin thought to herself, feeling the strain of using her eye's abilities too long and returning to normal vision. Still hanging onto the pillar, she calmly watched as the mass of undead began to disperse in the room, some of them beginning to climb the pillar she was on. From the bits and pieces she could overhear from Callis's conversation, he had some sort of role in fighting these creatures before, yet doesn't wish to stay here and betray the group.
Nodding at Callis's request, Mizuki pushes herself off the pillar and dives right into the mass of undead, drawing her two daggers and slashing apart three of the creatures who were in the vicinity of where she landed. Compared to the undead Mizuki had to face in the past, these zombies were practically normal humans to her. With laser-like precision, the assassin began slashing apart the undead's skulls, her style of fighting making sure to forgo flashy maneuvers for quick, effective strikes that should down an undead should their weakness be the brain.
Meanwhile, Alex was a little more apprehensive of the possibility that Callis would try to stay here and leave them all stranded...but now wasn't the time to debate that. Not wishing to respond to Callis's plea for help, as the beast knight was already in battle, Alex instead stood directly still and summoned five portals near himself. "Only undead this time? How quaint." The Enforcement leader remarked, five chains erupting out of the portals with a large metal spike at the end. The chains would fly around the room, aimed to shoot through an undead's head and have the chain behind trap them while it continued to skewer more zombies. Alex figured if they wouldn't die with a spear to the brain, they would at least be trapped with the chain running through their skulls.

The group that bickered and moved forward was missing a member once all had been said and done. Fumi, who had been eyeing the many wares around her, plenty easy for the pickings, finally stopped her eyes on what would be the hardest catch she could get her hands on.
The man’s hat, which she had previously been admiring with great greed, danced in her vision and a wide, close-lipped smile appeared on her face. Jewels, busts, paintings...she had those, but a hat that ate things mysteriously? That, she didn’t have.
Parting from the group’s side in a manner that could either be described as selfish, stupid, or both, Fumi was making her way across the hallway littered with guards, carefully stepping with a bold air of utter confidence; she wasn’t leaving without that man’s impressive hat! Fumi figured that by the time he’d realized what she was doing, she could immediately get away and get out; it was only a hallway’s length from here to the door anyways, she’d definitely made much more dangerous and long escapes before.
With a glittering gaze, Fumi approached the man face-to-face, her arm outstretched while her pulse throbbed, the excitement of such an open and bold act causing her adrenaline to rush, the prospect of an interesting steal, if you could even call it that at this point, making her entire body feel like a collective buzz.
However, her arm halted when a blaring light took her by surprise. The brightness stunned her momentarily, her mouth open in silent surprise as she looked to the large window that framed the massive machine towering before her as if it were simply the world’s most dangerous painting. Suddenly, the hat didn’t really seem worth it anymore.

John's nose tried to crawl up his face and leave when the zombies emerged. Yep, those were dead people alright. He didn't need the explanation from the mages. He knew what to do. Callis would not be lone down there. He would have air support. John jumped and flapped his wings, circling just a bit higher to aim at the zombies the melee fighters were not yet among. For a second he was an angel, feathered wings stretched wide in the bluest sky.
Then blue flames poured from his hands into the crowd, flames that would turn blood to steam and bones to ash. Immediately he felt the drain. These were not living creatures. The flames could not sustain themselves on their life forces. As such, John was forced to keep pouring out his own energy to fuel it. The flames could only last a few seconds as such, and then he'd be forced to drop down if I wanted to continue the fight. He wasn't made for fighting a crowd. But he had no choice as the sapphire flames vanished. His wings folded and he landed among them. He focused on evasion, ducking and weaving to find his way out of the crowd. The most he could do was tripping and slipping up the undead as he made his way towards Alex.
"Don't patronize me. I'll seen worse than anything a tank can do to you." Eve didn't have any interest in sticking around in this universe, although that tank was tempting. Could she somehow get it through the door? She didn't see how. "I'd invite you along, but I bet we're doing enough harm going through dimensions ourselves." She glanced around. Thinking of that, leaving somebody in the wrong place would be a problem for everybody as well. She spotted their missing member behind the local. "Fumi, if you do what you're about to do, I'm going to find out how small a piece of your body I need to carry through the doors for it to count you as being there. Get over here." Eve waved Fumi over to the door, entering herself. The twerp better follow, or Eve would... be forced to show she wouldn't back up her threats and they could therefore be ignored.

Regular zombies! Victor was relieved. The medieval setting made him think they were gonna face medieval, ghoulish zombies, complete with swords and armor. He hated those. These, on the other hand, he rather liked to fight against.
He turned himself visible, mainly because he wanted his teammates to be able to see him, and jumped down on the floor. He let himself get lost into battle, using his powerful claws and reflexes, swinging and jumpìng around. Victor was one of those heroes that had sworn never to kill, whose main mode of attack were lethal claws; it was always a relief to him when the time came to fight mindless opponents, the likes of zombies, robots or, in one occasion, plant people. He didn't have to take care or hold back.
