Victor turned himself invisible instantly at the sight of the dinosaur. He had at least learned that much from his last encounter with a T-Rex. Then he bolted right towards the door, as around him his new teammates started to jump, climb and fly around the T-Rex, using force, ki attacks and blue flames to try to stop it. It was quite a sight, actually, and Victor was sorry that he couldn't take a moment to really take it in, watch them fight, but he was concerned about the door. Right now, it was their only fixed point in a sort of white dimension of voidness. A doorsy dimension, maybe, but void still. Besides, nowhere it said that the doors were as easily opened from their side as from the other.
There was a second reason to be concerned about the door, as well: Maybe more dinosaurs could come out of it at any moment. Victor really wanted to see what was on the other side of the still open door.

Garo rushed towards the door as fast as his legs could allow it. Even in the damp and slippery floor his stride were sure and steady, being able to keep his balance to such degree in the difficult terrain that he was able to shoot back from time to time, connecting arrows directly on the incoming tendrils eyes. –Come one old man, don’t lose your step. - He whispered for himself as he kept running. The Old Archer finished the last stretch with a reverse baseball slide, going head first through the door but with his back turned to it, still shooting arrows with superhuman speed and dexterity, trying not to hurt the creatures, as he realized it was useless with his equipment and just aiming to their arms, to pin them against walls and slow them down. He rolled on his back to stand up, keeping the shower of suppressing fire in a constant rate.
Falken didn’t like getting tugged by Eve, he was the one who chose when to retire from a fight. Still deep down the Infamous Mercenary felt a tinge of happiness of getting somebody worried enough to help him, even if his pride wouldn’t allow him to ever admit it. –Hey! Careful the vest is made of authentic scales of a bloody corrupt dragon!- He said jokingly as he shook Eve’s hand away from his vest with a shrug and ran alongside he, skillfully sending light blue, lighting-like, beams of cold behind him over his shoulder, letting his mainframe do the aiming for him as he kept discussing. –I know when to bloody turn tail and run sweet cheeks, I don’t need you babysitting me.- He started talking in a fake offended tone until he couldn’t contain a chuckle and added. –Didn’t know I meant so much to you that you need to take care of me.- And winked.
The Infamous Mercenary crossed the door and turned around, to actually do more than just freezing random targets, creating walls of ice to stop the advance of the creatures and create a passage for the remaining members to get through without getting mauled. With his usual cocky smile he taunted Garo. –So old relic, do you plan to play the bloody damsel all day or this just was a one-time deal? – The Veteran Hunter sighed as he kept shooting, he really deserved that one, but still he was prideful enough to come with a retort. –Do you plan being a pain in the ass today?- He gave him a top to bottom glance and added. –Sorry, I forgot you’re an asshole all year round.- As they kept attacking the tendrils to allow Alexander passage they started butting head and throwing kicks to each other shins.
The attacks on the legs of the T-Rex would’ve work better if the massive lizard was standing still, instead they just clashed against the creature without making much effect at its rippling muscles under the scaly skin were pulling its whole gigantic frame into a charge at full steam. Alex’s chains weren’t of much use either, for a fleeting moment it seemed they might stop the hulking dinosaur, but the staggering amount of force generated by the creature mad dash forward broke through the chains with extreme ease, as if they were strings. Mizuki’s attacks were even less effective, as the T-Rex hide was harder than it looked and the constant movement under it made it difficult for even an expert to properly find a weak point in that mass of hardened muscle.. Gen, still recuperating from blow he took staggered as he tried to stand up. His head was spinning and his vision was blurry, he could barely notice what was happening as everything seemed to be doubled or tripled. But among all this confusion of colors and cacophony of sounds he heard a single voice clearly, a voice he was the only able to hear.
<You should go in there and beat that overgrown lizard up, what’s the point of having power if you don’t use it kid?>
Gen shook his head and palmed his cheeks, fighting the turmoil on his head. Maybe he was getting a bit of a sensory overload from meeting so many peoples after months on end of meeting monsters, creatures and even weirder things. Finally he regained his bearings and clenched his fist while whispering. –Shut the fuck up ya damned piece of fuckin’ shit! I ain’t a fuckin’ beggar to ask for yer help.- As he said that he finally noticed the situation, as the T-Rex charged directly towards the Beast Knight, who nimbly rolled out of the way as he threw some throwing knifes, that bounced off the gargantuan reptile.
<They need your help kid! Don’t be a stubborn ass and let me free! Don’t take it as charity, take it as a partnership, if you die I’m not getting out anymore… and I like that!>
The T-Rex stopped its charge crashing violently against an invisible and started turning around to face the group again, roaring with wild abandon as the hunger cloud the little judgement the primitive creature had. Gen arms hanged besides his body and his head was lowered. He was trembling with a mixture of shame, rage and self-pity, his fist clenched even harder than before. He wouldn’t take it, last time he used the medal it was a one-time thing only, not something he planned to do more, he knew it was a one way trip and he needed the power to save the others, paying back the debt he had with them, he never expected to be alive and be stuck with the medal… And worse without any alternative powers as any Ki or Fighting Spirit he had burned away on his last moments of life.
Gen pondered that, he didn’t know how he survived, but for the last year, give or take a month as he might have lost count once or twice, he was stuck in this place looking for the exit, entering through this doors and visiting strange and bizarre places. He was snapped back to reality by the stomping creature, this time around charging directly at Alex’s location. The Hot-Blooded Boxer could use the Medal, but to him it felt like cheating, like taking power from a source he didn’t earn, know to control and know enough about. Instead he decided to put his real asset to the service of the others, not his fighting prowess, amazing for a human, but inconsequential in the Hidden World right now, but the experience of suffering through similar situations many times. So he shouted.
-DON’T FUCKIN’ ATTACK IT FROM THE FUCKIN’ FRONT YA FUCKIN’ IDIOTS. – He even made a cone with his hands to project the sound as much as he could. –GET IT BEHIND THE KNEES OR ON ITS BELLY, YA FUCKIN’ MORONS YA CAN’T BEAT HIM FACE TO FACE!- As Gen finished speaking and his voice echoed in the room Callis reflexes allowed the Beast Knight to attempt following Gen’s instructions first, but as he rushed the legs of the creature he was hit from the side by the swaying tail of the T-Rex. He managed to raise his guard and minimize the damage, but he was sent flying across the white void until he crashed against a wall, falling flat on his ass, his swords vanishing. The Hot-Blooded Boxer shook his head in frustration and shouted again. –AND BE FUCKIN’ CAREFUL ABOUT HIS TAIL, THIS FUCKER IS TRICKY!-
Victor crossed the door to find himself entering a lush tropical rain forest, with green as far the eye could see, even the trees were covered in moss and the sky was blocked with the thick branches and overloaded branches. The cries of animals he never heard echoed on the forest, as a powerful humid heat slowly started reaching the Armored Youth. This was a world in which the Pre-Historic Era happened a bit later, more than enough to take the modern world place in this timeline. Victor could easily notice the path of devastation left by the Tyrant Lizard, surely following the trail of Gen towards the door, that thankfully was still open behind the Armored Youth.

Jose manages to jump onto the dinosaur's back with moderate difficulty thanks to his allies' efforts. As he listens to Gen's advice, he nods his head as he comprehends his suggestion. Aim for the weak points. Good thing he has been learning the perfect fighting style to do just that. Taking a deep stance and digging his feet into the creature's back muscles, he gets into a sturdy stance on top T-Rex's back. From there he slowly takes in air as he begins to trace out the creature's body with his heighten senses. He starts to examine certain connections throughout his bone structure, especially around the neck region of the creature. As he searches for a good point to strike, he continues to charge Ki energy in his fist. Soon a reddish aura begins to surround his closed hand and gradually increase in both size and intensity. The earth shaker's task is both dangerous and difficult as he needs to carefully control the growing amount of Ki in his fist, while simultaneously finding the perfect spot to hit. But perhaps the greatest issue would be his vulnerable state as he required some time to pull off the Yamakoroshi Ken.
Seeing the opportunity, Alex swiftly moves towards the exit of the place as he keeps the barrel of his gun facing the alien creature should he need to defend himself. As he crosses through the door, he prepares to close the door once everyone is outside with a shift hand motion that will allow him to swing his wire threads attach to the strange door, which in turn will swing the door close.

Fumi had to still her rapidly beating heart, bending over and setting her hands on her knees as she silently laughed to herself. This was fucking ridiculous, what was this job? She was told just to get a big stupid gem that she may or may not actually keep and run away with, but the creep in the coat failed to tell her she'd be fighting ALIENS.
Wheezing quietly to herself, Fumi stooped down for a moment as the rest seemed to finally (and thankfully) struggle through the door. Which was amazing to Fumi considering on top of all of them being in danger, Garo and Falken STILL had time to fight each other through the doors; those two sure had some childish bad blood feud going on there... Still, it was good to see them kicking and screaming instead of just..well, screaming.
The silent girl stood back up after her minor breakdown internally and she pushed her damp bangs from her face, sighing quietly with relief at the situation now. At least they were out and the door was closed, separating them from whatever the heck was in there...but this now led a completely different problem into the stage. Fumi looked down either side of the forever stretching, white hallways lined with doors of different shapes and sizes with no real exit in sight. Did that mean...the exit was in one of these doors??
Squirming her way back to the group, Fumi reached to the only person here she felt was really calm enough at the moment; she probably would have asked Garo if he wasn't too busy trying to tear Falken apart. Lightly tugging at the side of Eve's jacket to gain her attention, she lifted her hands to sign before halting immediately...Eve didn't know how to speak sign language, did she? Now she just felt silly. Heat rose to her cheeks from embarrassment at having tried to gain her attention and she quickly shook her head to dismiss the call for attention and quickly wrung her wrists in her hands while she bounced slightly in place. She had wanted to ask Eve how they were going to deal with the door situation, but it looked like that wasn't happening.

"I was just trying to scare it! Most animals hate fire!" John dove to avoid any contact with its jaws. His ability to fly was a massive advantage here, and right now he figured it was the best he could possibly have. He zigzagged erratically through the air to make himself a hard target, diving in a roundabout way for the beast's arm. It was small compared to the rest of the beast, but it was large enough he could grab on and start draining energy. Sure, it likely had a whole bunch, but that just meant quite the meal. He puckered his lips to kiss its arm, his fastest method of draining power.
Eve reached out a long arm to help Alex slam the door shut. "Alex! Wire that thing up! I don't want it opening!" She took stock. Everybody there, everybody seemed to be uninjured. Emotions seemed to be running a bit high. Even Eve had to take a few deep breaths. That was terrible. What the hell was this place? Did all these doors have crazy evil rooms? Or alternate dimensions? Time travel?
She felt a tug on her coat and looked down. Fumi was desperately signing to her. "Uh, sorry kid. I don't-hold on." Eve walked up to Garo, glaring at both. She grabbed them by the backs of their shirts and yanked them apart. "Knock it the fuck off!" She glared especially hard at Garo. "I expect this crap from Falken, but you are an adult, Garo!" She released them but continued to stand between them. "Now apologize! Both of you! Not to me, to each other!" Eve didn't just plant her feet, she released the spikes that anchored her so tightly that she was nearly immobile. She wasn't sure how much good it would do with this strange not-floor, but she wasn't moving until these two shaped up.

Seeing that their tactics were ineffective, Alex shakes his head in annoyance. Perhaps he couldn't incapacitate this monster without killing it. What a shame. Creating a portal in front of himself as the dinosaur charged, Alex stepped into it and reappeared several meters to the left. If he listened to the shouting boy, the weak points were behind its knees and the belly...back of the knees...did dinosaurs have an achilles tendon? Only one way to find out. Getting on his intercom, he began speaking to Mizuki.
"I need you to make a deep incision on the back of its leg. Take out the legs, the beast is down." "Understood" She responded with pure professionalism, channeling more energy into her legs to make her even faster than before, seemingly a blur to most eyes. Once she got behind the creature's leg, Mizuki would channel her speed energy into her arms for power, making her daggers glow a bright red as she leaped forward and tried to dig them into the beast's flesh, using her entire body weight to try and pull the daggers downward toward the ground and make a larger incision. If she were successful, Alex would portal behind the t-rex and shoot two chains into the openings she made, trying to sever as much muscle fiber as he could. If she couldn't pierce the flesh...well, this was going to be a very bad faceplant.

Victor was intrigued. If this was ancient times, where had that guy come from? Why did he ran towards this spot in the jungle? Was the door always here? Victor realized he had pictured the door as appearing out of thin air in the middle of the jungle, but it could be part of a structure for all he knew? Perhaps another mountain...? Carefully, he took a couple steps out and looked around the edges of the door from the other side, secretly terrified of the possibility of the door closing on him and leaving him stranded on Jurassic Park.

This time around, thanks to some opportune advice from Gen, the attacks from the group hit their mark. Mizuki struck first, opening the back of the creature knees. –Die monster!- Callis, getting back up after the hit from the tail noticed her attack and he did the same using one of his Notio Blades, widening the now bleeding wounds. Johnathan’s Energy Drain was slowly making effect, stunning the T-Rex that slowly lost its ferocity, its roar turned into whimper, as the chains Alex summoned pierced deeply inside the creature’s kneecaps. The T-Rex blood poured on the white void under him, dying it red, creating a puddle that seemed to float under the behemoth scaly soles. Gen did a small fist pump, thankful of finally seeing that damn beast on the ropes. –C’mon! Give that fucker a killin’ blow!- He shouted using his hands to amplify the sound.
His request happened just when Jose was about to release the Mountain Slaying Fist, or at least a fast version of it, since being atop a T-Rex wasn’t the most comfortable spot to gather Ki. Thankfully all the damage the rest of the group did was more than enough to weaken the creature enough for the Earthshaker’s attack to cause a critical wound. Jose fist, glowing with red energy, crashed through the tough hide and inserted itself in-between two vertebrae, releasing the ki focused on his hand like a powerful blast. At this point he could be considered a somewhat advanced student, so his rushed version of the technique managed to retain the ability to move through the target weakpoints. What came next was a muffled detonation inside the creature followed by an explosion of gore. Jose’s Ki ruptured most of the T-Rex innards and boiled them inside the hide.
The pressure quickly built up inside the dinosaur chest causing it to explode from the inside out. Not a full on explosion, but several geysers of blood and guts piercing through the scaled skin, flooding the area under the T-Rex with the prehistoric predator pieces. Gen looked at the whole situation recognizing the move as one of the techniques Reiji promised to teach him. A hint of sadness showed on his face as the T-Rex fell into the floor, like a gigantic ragdoll. The Hot-Blooded Boxer shook that thought off, even shaking his head and turned towards the closest person to him, in this case was Mizuki. –Now that this is fuckin’ settled, what the fuck are ya people doin’ here?-
-Tsk…- Garo looked away and then proceeded to walk away from Falken. The Old Archer didn’t want to admit it, but he was relieved. For a moment he thought he was a goner, those things in there, if they were the same as the one in the JHWAB files, took half of the original Omega Squad down to take them. Garo wasn’t afraid to die, but deep down he knew that dying here wasn’t something he wanted, he still had a couple of things to do before dying.
Falken on other hand didn’t stop, at least at first, with the insults and taunting. –C’mon old fart, c’mere and bloody fight me like man! I’ll end y…- The Infamous Mercenary stopped talking just as he heard Eve’s spikes piercing the invisible floor. He knew that he might be able to hold his own against the leader of the Wild Hunt, but he didn’t want to try, not right now. Still he couldn’t just shut the hell up, it wasn’t something he could do, not Falken, so as an idiot he started to snark. –What’s wrong sweet cheeks are you on your bloody peri…- Once again he stopped talking, but this time around it wasn’t because of feeling shame.
The Killer Cyborg summoned his Kazuraba Triumphant Shotgun, his red eye gleaming with killing intent. Without saying anything he took a bold step forward and with inhuman swiftness shot, not at Eve, but over her shoulder, using her as a support for his cannon. Falken’s weapon spewed hot shrapnel that flew a couple of meters and plunged into a humanoid form, coming from the other side without damaging it. –Who the hell are you!?- He shouted at the figure, which appeared out of nowhere. A middle aged man with a dark blue suit, curly black hair and round glasses, a man that Falken could only pick up on his visual receptors and nothing else. The man, who had the saddest most miserable expression a human could conjure, raised his hand in greeting.
-Welcome to my lab, I’m Dr. Lazarus, how can I be of service?-
The door stood in the middle of nowhere, no building, just verdant exuberance around it. Curiously the door only showed the white void, now with a dying Tyrannosaur, from the front. Checking the back would show that through the open door one could see the other side of the Jungle, no white void. Quite puzzling.

This was all one big, huge, nasty mess!! Fumi wish she'd just said no to her curiosity when the mysterious stranger appeared at her door, she definitely wasn't getting paid half as much as she should for this job!! Fumi had to resort to stomping her foot with childish petulance as she couldn't communicate with anyone on this team at this moment; nobody here was willing to listen as they were consumed by their own current predicaments. Whatever!! She didn't care! Forget these people, forget those stupid aliens, forget this stupid place! She couldn't be rich if she was dead!
Crossing her arms adamantly around her chest for a moment, bringing a thumb up to her mouth where she chewed lightly on the end of her nail, Fumi began to debate her chances of getting out of her on her own and they didn't seem too good...she wasn't exactly good physically at anything that didn't involve flexibility or speed; everyone else seemed to possess some level of combat prowress that she definitely lacked. Briefly, Fumi shivered at the thought of what could have happened to her if she'd been in that room alone...so maybe storming off wasn't the best idea. She cast her doubtful gaze around as the group clearly divided itself and she couldn't try to talk sense into anyone anymore than Eve could. Giving a forlorn sigh, Fumi just shook her head and crouched down, tracing her finger against a floor that wasn't there as Garo turned heel to cool off, but clearly leaving Falken possibly more enraged than before. Fumi felt sympathy for Eve trying so hard to cool them down, but it obviously wasn't working like it should...Could she really do nothing to help relax things down?? Stopping the swirling of her finger, Fumi bounced back up as she followed after Garo, wondering how to get his attention without making him angry; she silently cursed her inability to talk, it would have made things much easier.
Settling for the same tactic she'd tried with Eve, Fumi reached out to lightly tug on his clothing to try and gather his attention. She wanted to simply ask if he was okay, but she couldn't really figure out a way to sign it to him in an uncomplicated manner...So she settled for a worried expression instead, much similar to a look a confused puppy would give as she tried her hardest to attempt to convey a question without voice. The look was quickly replaced with closed eyes and hands over her ears as the loud, booming shot sounded out in a hallway that seemed to echo loudly despite having no visible walls.
When she opened her eyes, she was greeted by a figure that literally appeared out of absolutely NOWHERE. This was just...this was just too much; Fumi was quickly losing her ability to question anything happening here. Walls disappearing? Doors leading to bathhouses that had monstrous aliens? And now...this incredibly sad looking man?? With a forlorn sigh, Fumi decided it was time to just simply kick her logic here aside, it'd just bother her.
Meanwhile, Fumi's fingers gripped tighter into Garo's garb as she felt an incredible sympathy for such a miserable looking man. This "Dr. Lazarus" man made her chest hurt within just by looking at him.

Widening her eyes at Jose's massive attack, Mizuki dashed to the side in order to avoid the geysers of blood that erupted from the creature's body, leaping from side to side until they stopped erupting...finally stopping her movements next to Gen as the floor below was covered in blood. She normally wouldn't care about getting hit with blood...but there was a large difference between some splattering on your clothing after a kill, and being drenched in the blood of a dinosaur that has unknown viruses and bacteria in its blood. She blankly looked at Gen as he asked his question, sheathing her daggers.
"The Japanese Hidden World Affairs Bureau asked for assistance investigating this location. I am here from the HWIC with my captain. Call me Mizuki. Now..." Her voice grows more suspicious in tone. Not outright hostile, but there was a clear distrust in her eyes. Why did this person charge through that door, allow a T-rex to get through, and not lend a hand to assist in its defeat? Did he want them to be killed by that monster? "...what is your name, and why are you here?"
Meanwhile, Alex had portaled away to a spot far away from the T-rex, not wanting to get a gallon of blood over his suit. Once it was over, he opens a portal next to Callis and motions to get the Beast Knight's attention. "The boy looked surprised when he saw you. Do you know him, by chance?" He asks, having no idea who Gen was. The HWIC didn't deal with many cases in Japan so as to be respectful of the JHWAB's jurisdiction, so incidents such as the one in Osaka weren't as pressing to the HWIC as most other cases.

Eve's expression grew fouler with every word Falken spoke. She was about to shut him up with a jab to the stomach when her placed his gun on her shoulder and fired. She spun to find the sad face of Dr. Lazarus. She raised her gun, but instead of firing, she studied the effects of Falken's blast. The figure seemed both unaffected and nonthreatening. Eve's keen eyes picked up the fragments of Falken's blast falling off the wall that wasn't there. "Falken you idiot, it's a hologram. Dr. Lazarus, we're looking for a very important object we believe you have." She threw an "About this big, crystal? Also, the exit would be lovely." She held up her hands to indicate size. Escape was nice, but greed came first.
John kept clinging, feeling immense amounts of power flowing into his body. He didn't let go when the best shook, assuming it was just trying to shake him off. He only pulled away when he found himself doused in blood. He spat and flew off to watch the creature fall. Its body shook the room, if it could be called that. John glided down and despaired at the state of his outfit. Well, this was ruined. At least he dressed for the occasion and none of it was fancy. But still, it stank and he didn't like being covered in gore any more than anybody else would. He took a bottle of mouthwash from his belt and swirled it in his mouth. The taste of the creature's skin was burnt away by the alcohol and he spat. Like a dead bird. Gross. "Anybody need a towel?" He knelt and opened his waterproof backpack for towels and began sponging off.

After finishing off the dinosaur and getting drench in blood, the bounty hunter leaps from the corpse to Gen's position in time to hear Mizuki's questions. "His name is Gen. Gen Shishioh." He walks closer to inspect him in order to make sure that he isn't losing his mind in this bizarre hallway. As he approaches the man he could easily recall their first encounter and his sacrifice "This is long over due," he said to the Hot-Blooded Boxer. He slowly bows his head and says loud and clear, "Thank you." Perhaps no one here would understand why Jose is bowing with the exception of Callis, but had they been on Sakurajima Island on that faithful day, they would probably be expressing their gratitude as well. After thanking him, he proceeds to bow even deeper, "And I'm sorry that I wasn't strong enough to help you then, but-" He looks right into the man's eyes as he finishes, "-I will not fail you twice."
While ignoring the issues between his own team, his full attention is directed to the doctor. This surprise excites Alex as he imagines that this individual will be able guide him to something fascinating, hopefully he will be able to meet other interesting prey in this place. He approaches the depressing figure and asks, "Are you a specter by supernatural means, or technology." While he questions the means of his abstract presence here, he starts to wonder the purpose for this lab. Clearly the object of their mission is not the only thing that he cares about discovering as he needs to feed his curiosities about this strange environment.

Victor decided there wasn't much more to do on that side of the door, so he came back inside. He was troubled by some questions.
He climbed up the T-Rex's body and turned himself visible, hoping everyone could see him from where he was standing.
"Hey guys. If I may interrupt... First things first: It was AWESOME how you defeated the T-Rex. Seriously. Sorry if I didn't pitch in, I-- I'm more of a hand-to-hand combat guy and I was certain you were going to kill it. But, mainly? I was pretty freaked out about the door. Still am. So I have a couple questions. In case anyone knows. Maybe the new guy. Sir, hello. So: Is this place what was being built inside the mountain? Like an interdimensional hub? Because I looked around the other side of the door and there's nothing there, it's like it's being projected. OUR door on the other hand, the one through we came in, HAD something around it on our side. The underground complex. So, is this what set off the alarms? Some experiment on multidimensional traveling, gone wrong? I bet there's only so many interdimensional doors you can put into just one place, before you create a rift in the fabric of... something."
"Then again, it might be that the door on our side was just being projected, after all. For all we know this hub is somewhere else and the alarms were set off simply because the guys on the island reached out to something nasty, like a 'creature beyond the veil' or a 'cosmic entity', I myself am a bit creeped out by how all of these portals are... doors, it makes me think they're maybe not man-made, at least not laboratory-made, a door makes me think of magic, like a mystic thing... Instead of a lab work gone wrong, we might soon be facing a 'forgotten god' from two dimensions away..."
"Anyone has a clue?"

-I am an automated program left here by Dr. Lazarus, I identify as him since my programming is based on his mind.- The hologram spoke in a monotone voice, the kind of voice a computer would generate, lacking any tone, inflexion or intent, but even so he sounded sad, maybe it was the face of the man he was representing, or maybe the programming latched on that ever present feeling on Dr. Lazarus mind. -I do not know of any crystals like the one you speak off, but my database is limited to the functionality of this room and nothing else.- His movements abruptly stopped, clearly showing that even his movements were recorded. Maybe that helped to the strange feeling that came from looking at him, as his lips weren’t always synched to what he said.
Garo wanted to ask something to the hologram, but he stopped when he felt Fumi’s tug and looked at her. Even as cynical as the Old Archer was he never forgot his paternal instincts. He had them for his students back in Inazuma, but right now he felt that tinge of pain only a father knows as he saw the Smokey Bandit worried expression. Garo’s face relaxed, losing the vexation that invaded him up until moments earlier and instead a gentle, yet tired smile, not a gesture usually seen on the Veteran Hunter, appeared on his face. -Don’t worry gi… Fumi.- He patted her head. -I’m okay, you don’t need to worry about me, just let me catch my breath and I will be okay.- He spoke softly and clearly intended to transmit more through his tone than his words.
Falken wasn’t distracted at all so he shot the first question towards the Hologram. -So what the bloody hell is this place? And why did you turn on right now?- Falken looked around trying to find a projector to shoot at. -Speak or I will find where the hell you come from and sell it by parts in Radio Shack.- The Lazarus Technological Visage didn’t show any kind of fear after the threat and quickly replied. -This place was called the “Dimensional Waypoint” by Dr. Lazarus.- He kept using the same monotone voice. -He built it over a pre-existing tear on this dimension, creating an infinite number of passageways that reach an infinite number of alternate dimensions.- The Hologram pointed at several doors. -Each door takes you to a world parallel to this one, which Dr. Lazarus referred as <0 World>, originally he used letters, but he ran out of them quickly so he shifted to numbers.-
Falken pumped his shotgun. -And why did you turned on right now? Speak before I start shooting.- The Infamous Cyborg knew that he was acting ridiculously, but something deep down scared, as if he had been in this place already. The Hologram quickly replied. -I was activated after the utilization of one of the door by a previous user, meaning that one of you was already here before.- Those words made Falken lower his gun. Deep down he knew that was the case, he remembered something like this, the doors, the white void, just flashes of memory, as if he was seeing the strokes of red paint under a badly applied new coat of white paint. Disjointed images, rushing through the Cyborg’s head. As this happened to Falken, the Hologram turned to Eve and replied to her other question. -Your next inquiry was about an exit.-
A set of 5 lights appeared over the Hologram, the first green and the rest red. -To leave this room and make your way to the main lab everybody in the “Dimensional Waypoint” needs to enter through 4 more gates and stay inside until the light over the door frame turns green.- He pointed at the first light. -Like this.- The Hologram then looked around and made a gesture with his hand. Red lights appeared over every door they could see. -When you finish this task I will return to open the door to the lab as my programming dictates.- He vanished as silently and swiftly as he appeared. Garo wanted to say something but as he opened his mouth a loud “THUD” echoed around, followed by electronical muttering, all coming from Falken, now on the floor trembling while black liquid came out from every orifice on his face.
-He was dead, at least that was what the JHWAB let us know.- Callis spoke with reverent fear on his voice, his sharp blue eyes fixed on the tattered man who was standing near him. -He was the epicenter of the Sakurajima incident.- As much as the Bureau tried to hide it the news of the incident and the implications of it had slowly leaked into the rest of the world, so surely a high ranking member of the HWIC would know what Callis was talking about. -According to the reports he went outside the planet “atmosphere”, whatever that might be.- The Beast Knight had some difficulties saying the word, even with the translation spells on, as the term was so strange to him.
-And now he is alive right here… Last time I saw him it was in Romania, battling undead creatures people in this world call Vampires… He was a brave man, took a dangerous hit to protect the rest of the group, even if he did not know us.- The Beast Knight was flabbergasted upon seeing Gen once again. Maybe people could come back from the dead in this world, or something akin to a reincarnation happened to the Hotblooded Boxer. Either way Callis slowly realized the magnitude of this situation. He tried to get information about Sakurajima and seemingly most of the JHWAB considered Gen’s supposed death equal parts shame and good luck, as people with knowledge about the “Gainen Medals” were dangerous.
Gen was a bit too happy, after being stranded 4 months in the dimension with the Dinosaurs and god knows how many others he finally found people from his own world. He wanted to reply to Mizuki’s question but Jose interrupted him, The Boxer recognizing him from Sakurajima. Then he wanted to reply to Jose, but the sudden appearance of Victor and his torrent of questions also stopped Gen from speaking, really killing his good mood, or at least diminishing it. Finally he managed to started speaking. He pointed at Victor. -I don’t know who that fuckin’ kid is, but somebody shut him the fuck up or the first person I punch after a long while will be him.-
After saying that he continued. -Yeah, I’m Gen Shishioh and to answer everybody fuckin’ question I ain’t have a fuckin’ clue about why the fuck I’m here, where the fuck is here or in which fuckin’ way I got here.- The Hot-Blooded Boxer looked around, seeing the people gathered in the Dimensional Waypoint. -I know some of you, like the kitty knight there.- He pointed at Callis. - And Mr. formality over here.- He then pointed to Jose. -And I don’t fuckin’ know how I got here, I just fuckin’ remember fallin’, then crashin’, then somebody covered my face with a fuckin’ thing.- He stopped for a moment trying to collect his memories.
-Then I woke up here and I’ve been trying doors lookin’ for a fuckin’ exit, but I ended up gettin’ into a bunch of trouble each time I fuckin’ opened a door.- Gen gestured to all the doors. -I visited some messed up places… I don’t fuckin’ get it… But I think I might be jumpin’ dimensi- Suddenly over every door a red light appeared, with the exception of 15 doors more or less with green lights above. -Huh, that’s new.- Gen said while pointing at the doors. He then pointed at something else near them, the sad holographic image of Dr. Lazarus, who greeted them.
-Welcome to my lab, I’m Dr. Lazarus, how can I be of service?-

Fumi looked visibly taken aback when she felt Garo's hand on the top of her head, as if the presence of the touch was something completely foreign to her. When attention turned back to the projection of Dr. Lazarus, Fumi's hands were touching at the top of her head while she looked idly confused. It was only thanks to Falken's near constantly raised voice that Fumi refocused in on the strange, sad projection ; Geez, it's face was really bringing her down.
Fumi's expression went through a few phases as Dr. Lazarus spoke; initially most were simply confusion, but they turned into a mixture of horror and exasperation as he explained the way they'd escape. Different dimensions? A dimensional waypoint? They' d have to go through more doors?! All of her sci-fi marathons could never have prepared her to actually be taking place in the actual situation!! Fumi let out a muffled sound while rummaging her hands around in the top of her hair, a sound of frustration and exasperation. Again, she had to remind herself, stop questioning it, but damn was it driving her nuts!! Grunting afterwards, Fumi dropped her hands and resigned to folding her arms instead, her itchy fingers tapping repeatedly along her arms. Could they really trust a hologram to hold up its end of the bargain?
Didn't seem she had much time to question the walking program, seeing as it disappeared right after is explanation and leaving Fumi with more questions, no answers, and a sudden jump of surprise at the strange noises happening behind her. Looking to the source of the sound, Fumi felt her tongue stick out in disgust at the intial sight of Falken literally oozing...and then it gave way to worry ; she looked up to Garo with question as if he could provide her the answers before making careful steps towards Eve and the...well, Fumi would call it 'malfunctioning', Falken. She had no clue what to do! The last thing she wanted to do was touch the guy and she had no mechanical know-how; one of her shower heads at home was still completely busted after the last incident she'd had. Kneeling down, Fumi hesitantly watched Falken while signing up to Eve, completely forgetting again that the woman didn't know how to speak it; one hand made a small "O" shape, moving forward faintly and a followed movement of her index and middle fingers that vaguely represented the letter "K", she was dumbly trying to ask if the guy oozing from his face was "Okay?"
Then another thought hit her. If Falken wasn't okay...did that mean they had to drag the guy around through more hellish doors?!

"Wait, who's been- fuck!" Eve reacted both to her sudden realization and Falken collapsing, spinning to kneel by him. "Garo, going to need an arrow. Good sturdy one, I might need to pry him open." Eve searched for any outward signs of what was wrong with Falken. If she couldn't find any, it was time to start taking bits off. "So, if any have been here before, this would be the time to speak up. Otherwise, get ready for some weirdness. If we meet people who reaaaally look like us, be careful before shooting." Eve spoke as she tilted Falken's head up to open his airway. Did this guy even need to breathe?
John's eyes just glazed over as everything was explained. "I... okay, well first of all I think you've been time traveling, and if what Callis said is right, this is the present." John was distracted by the new muscly guy by the very depressed man who appeared out of nowhere in the room. "Oh, hello. I assume you could explain to us the power surge we're investigating?" John gave the hologram a friendly dip of his head. This was either about to go really good or really bad.

The mere mention of dimension travel that Gen was about to make caused Mizuki's eyes to widen unexpectedly, the mostly-quiet new recruit's heart rate increasing ever so slightly. While to most outside observers, her expression barely changed, anyone well-versed in body language could see the odd amount of distress the girl was having. Alex had a more subtle reaction, squinting slightly at the torn-up fighter yelling at the person who brought along a mechanical tiger, as if trying to study Gen. This boy was the one described in the leaked documents about the Sakurajima incident? Judging by Gen's recount of his journey, Alex guessed that Gen's body was pulled back into the atmosphere by Earth's gravity, somehow survived the heat of reentry and the fall, only to be kidnapped and brought to this place. Did Gen's reentry into Earth also mean that the Gainen he brought into outer space had fallen back to Earth as well?
Before Alex could ask if Gen knew if the Gainen was back, the hologram of Dr. Lazarus appeared and began speaking to the group. The HWIC Enforcement leader stepped forward to speak to the hologram. "Dr. Lazarus, if this is your lab, why was this boy trapped here for these past few months? Who brought him here?" He didn't know how this man would respond to being told that Alex was the head of the Enforcement division of the HWIC, so he was going to keep that detail a secret for now. Mizuki appeared to have calmed down a little, but was still breathing harder than normal, a few beads of sweat appearing on her forehead. She'd let the others deal with this one.

Victor raised his hand as if he was on class, and talked to the hologram. "I also would like to know that, but when your have the time, please... Where IS the real Dr Lazarus? If you left a hologram here... Did you die in a lab accident? Are we in danger right now? And, why didn't you appear sooner?

Jose looks at the Dr. Lazarus without the slightest change in expression. He studies the hologram carefully as he is anticipating another trap. He slowly turns his attention towards the group, trying to see if anyone had any clue who this man was. He eventually adjust his eyes back at the hologram as he appears to be getting ready to answer everyone's questions. Not sure what to do exactly, he decides to wait and remain alert for the time being.
Alex nods his head to the explanation and prepares to walk through another gate, yet before he could take a step forward, Falken collapses. He turns around to see his companion bleed a miniature river of oil out of his face. Yet, he doesn't become concern for the man's life. Rather, he is interested in what cause this sudden occurrence. He bends down and examines the machine man for a few brief seconds before taking out a single bullet from one of his inner pockets. He then proceeds to use his wire threads to carve Falken's own name on the bullet with a few finger motions. If worse comes to worse, he will at least put him out of his misery as quickly and painlessly as possible he thought.

Falken convulsions reached their peak as his eyes rolled back and his whole body tensed up before starting to die down. The black liquid coming out from his eyes stopped as suddenly as it appeared and The Infamous Mercenary opened his eyes. Something was off, he had just expelled a whole bunch of his nanites for an unknown reason. Not enough to hinder his functionality, but something was quite wrong, as the defective ones usually were blue, like the rest, black nanites was something new for him. He could feel the closeness of Eve and how she was keeping his head up, trying to find out what was happening to him. Unable to resist Falken pinched her ass as he said -Oh I knew you cared about me sweetcheeks.- He wanted to make her lose her cool, so she wouldn’t ask about what happened and just smacked.
Mostly because he didn’t have any answers and didn’t want to think about it, because feeling powerless and confused wasn’t something he liked or wanted to show others. As a Mercenary his rep was everything, and he couldn’t break down into an existential crisis just for having some seizures.. An ominous feeling was taking over him, fragmented memories. Garo didn’t even care, as he was inspecting the doors trying to find any kind of trick on them, or a way to decide which door was safer than the others. The Old Hunter quickly realized there wasn’t anything to do about it, so he limited to mark the first door with a cross, using a piece of chalk he usually carried to mark practice targets.
-I do not know any reason for the power source, as I am not programmed to know anything beyond the parameters and directives established since my creation.- The computer jargon and the mechanic-like nature of the reply was more than enough evidence to realize they were talking to some sort of AI rather than an actual projection of Dr. Lazarus. - Meaning that I lack the knowledge to reply the other of the questions you have for me.- He made a pause pointing at Gen. -I don’t know who this individual is, I only know that he entered this room in September of the previous year and that he entered 15 doors.- He continued gesturing the doors. -Still, as new individuals have arrived the program must be reseted.- The green lights over the doors Gen visited turned red.
-HEY! I made a lot of fuckin’ effort to survive those fuckin’ places! Don’t go erasin’ my fuckin’ save file!- Gen roared enraged at the program, charging against it and phasing through when his punch hit nothing. The Hot Blooded Boxer landed on his ass after doing a full flip when he lost his balance. From the floor he kept insulting the Hologram. -I don’t fuckin’ get why they are useful but you ain’t erasin’ them!- The Hologram ignored Gen and continued talking. -I don’t know the current location of Dr. Lazarus, my records indicated he abandoned the laboratory alongside other collaborators 2 days ago.- The Lazarus Hologram pointed at the doors. -My sole function is to activate when somebody who visited this room before returns, to remind the rules of the Dimensional Waypoint.-
-To reach the main laboratory any group passing through is required to go through 5 doors and stay inside until the light over them turns green.- He showed a single green light over his palm. -Upon completion of this task you might continue towards the main lab, as the door will appear for you to use.- The Hologram slowly started losing color. -And with that information my program has ended, I will reappear when you complete the task required to access the main lab.- As soon as he banished Gen punched the floor, filled with frustration before standing up. He turned to the others and spitted in the floor. -Seems that we are goin’ to do some travellin’.... FUCK!- Once again he punched the floor, fists clenched and teeth gritted. -This fuckin’ place ain’t a fuckin’ amusement ride… Is a fuckin’ deathtrap!- He warned the others doing a violent gesture towards the doors. For a moment it seemed he was sobbing.
Callis moved closer to Gen and placed his hand over the boxer shoulder. -Mes Shishioh, you were alone, but now you are surrounded by a highly trained and powerful group, if you managed to survive on this place on your own you can be assured that our combined forces will only make this easier, not harder.- The Hot Blooded Boxer raised his eyes, glaring at Callis and without any notice he clocked the Beast Knight in the jaw while standing up, a crouching uppercut. Even if he lacked his powers Gen was still quite the hard puncher and Callis staggered back as he grabbed his jaw. The Hot Blooded Boxer popped his neck and with burning eyes grabbed Callis from the jacket
-What the fuck do ya know, ya overgrown cat?- The Beast Knight stoically took the punishment, he even raised his hand to stop anybody from interfering, looking at them and shaking his head. He’d seen the same eyes Gen had in warriors who fought during the Unda War back on his homeland, utter despair, about to jump down the abyss of madness to escape a cruel reality that didn’t made sense anymore. -WHAT THE FUCK DO YA KNOW DAMMIT!?- Gen shook Callis, shouting as loud as he could, the distorted echo of his voice bouncing from the ever changing invisible walls in the room. -DO YA EVEN FUCKIN’ KNOW THE HELLS I’VE BEEN THROUGH!?-
Finally Gen fell on his knees, whatever strength that had been moving him and keeping him alive was wearing off, he was exhausted and that meant he couldn’t keep his facade any longer, so he collapsed into the ground in silence. Callis looked at Gen with concern on his eyes and crouched to see if he was still alive. The Beast Knight turned to the others and said. -He is sleeping.- Right before taking off his coat and folding it to use it as a pillow for Gen, who lightly breathed. Maybe he would be a bit more optimistic when he wakes up later. At least that was what Callis hoped.
The Beast Knight stood up and glanced at the group. -It seems our only chance here is to complete what the ghostly visage said, enter the doors and activate whatever mag… technology opens the gateway to the laboratory, maybe there we will find more clues about the energy signature.- Callis tried to stay calm and be concise, maybe the others would have any extra ideas they would like to add.
The Old Man up in the Mountains was inside his humble house, built in the ruins of a Tibetan Monastery. The dying light of the setting sun cut the outline of the now black mountains with a reddish halo. Through his window this crimson luminescence hit the wall to his left, filled with single marks on the wall, all lined up. How many times he marked that wall, how many times he had to face his sins and crimes, the ones he committed so long ago. Sometimes he felt this was his punishment, like a limbo or a purgatory where each day a new group of individuals, sometimes similar, sometimes wildly different came to his house and found out the truth.
Maybe today would be different, but that was just the dreams of an old man, tired of thinking about the past, scared of the eternal suffering of his present and with no hopes for his future.
The blue tiles of the rooftops were sprinkled with snow, so did the grey streets, populated by hundreds of inhabitants following their routine, visiting the market, going to work or just looking for a place to hang out. Their lives seemed blessed after the events that happened years ago, a blissful existence granted to them by somebody who they used to hate without any reason apart from old tradition withheld by men and women with small hearts and evil ambitions. The ruins of the castle were their constant reminder of the day their lives were saved. Yet all of them were ignorant about the strange events happening on the castle that day, as a group of academics and arcanists were studying a strange door that appeared out of nowhere in the midst of the ruins.
Something was about to happen, there was electricity in the air...
