The commander watches as his snipers are being penetrated by spikes. Since they have been laying down on the ground, the elite snipers couldn't adjust their bodies quick enough to avoid the deadly attack from below. Without wasting any time, he quickly hustles to retrieve one of his fallen soldiers' weapons while also avoiding the raising spikes with a combination of physical athleticism and luck. Once he grabs the sniper rifle, he immediately swings the weapon over to the direction of his target and begins to fire at Falken. The recoil of each shot would be more than enough to break the arms of a regular person shooting with such a high caliber gun while firing it from a standup position, but the commander barely even budges. However, the uniqueness of the man didn't stop there, which the mercenary will soon figure out once he begins to notice the squad leader's bullets are getting closer and closer to hitting him. Yet, even with superior skills compare to his fellow troops, the Russian commander knew that he couldn't taking this foe down by himself, but he hopes to distract his attention away from the incoming drones for as long as possible.
Meanwhile, the drones scatter themselves throughout the environment as they adjust into a various positions to remove all escape routes for the hunters. Once they are in position, the first wave of drones, which contains a dozen of the baseball size machines, begin to move low and silent near the ground as they detect a hostile heat signature. With the heavy snow and their camouflage metal plates, even someone with supernatural sight might not be enough to spot them until it is too late. As they hover slightly above the snowy ground, they slowly trail Garo and prepare an attack sequence. They scatter in a wide circle formation, about a 10 meters radius, and wait for him to stop moving before commencing the attack as a moving target is much more difficult to hit.
As Alex assists Eve with her task, he is clueless about the approaching drones, especially the second wave that is heading straight for him and Eve. As he finishes his task, the tiny machines descend on their position faster and in much greater numbers then the first wave. Hundreds of drones rotate around their shield as they are too big to fit through. But the genius computing capabilities of the drones not only allows them to avoid the javelin fire, but to also determine the proper angles to shot though the small gaps between the structure of the dome. With their tiny spikes across their bodies they fire a series of super condense laser beams at both the hunters. Each individual laser is so small that the width of the beam would barely cover the entire head of a pin. Still, each one of those lasers could rip through steel as easily as person could tissue paper. And with hundreds of these lasers coming down on them, their bombardment has a history of being extremely deadly against the drones' previous targets.
And with his guard down to this unknown danger, Alex soon receives a wave of lasers that puncture completely though him. Blood begins to paint the snow by his feet as the precious liquid runs down his body from various minuscule size holes of his arms, chest, and from both sides of his checks as a single laser pierces him from the side of his head. Miraculous, he moved right before the laser had stuck him and managed to dodge a fatal wound from the surprise attack. Still he is currently losing too much blood and fast. No longer concentzrationing on his task to assist Eve, he quickly shifts the gears in his head to figure out how to save himself before the next barrage. As more lasers are about to finish him off, the motions of his hands and arms are incredible as well as the movements of the numerous wire threads shifting all around his body as he layers the sharp material over himself repeatedly until he appears to have become a mummy. As the laser hits, the skin underneath his body is protected by his wire threads. The threads are also applying pressure against his body to slow down the bleeding, but he couldn't remain like this forever.
With all the wire threads wrapping around his body so tightly to prevent the small lasers from hitting him, he could no longer afford to repair the dome protecting them from the javelin fire. And his wire thread body armor couldn't protect him from the anti-tank missiles. Looking at Eve, he images her body and overall anatomy would allow her to tank, or survive, the laser fire. And so he decides to finish the job she assign to him. Praying that Eve could figure a way to get them out of this mess. As he works, he could feel more laser beams striking against him. They could no longer could hit his body directly, but indirectly cause damage as the consist shots push the wire threads into his skin and the threads begin to peel off some of his flesh. However Alex could not feel an ounce of pain, as such a feeling is overwhelmed by the man's enjoyment.
For a while, the drones hold off on sending a third wave to Falken for they received orders to to analyze his maneuvers and equipment. And at some point, when they could no longer gain more knowledge on him by simply watching, they commence their attack. A few hundred drones rush towards the mercenary and get ready to fire the flying man. Unlike the small lasers that Alex and Eve are dealing with, thanks to the openness of the air, the drones are able to use a larger scale attack. The tiny machines body slightly transform as they shift the spikes covering the surface of their bodies to configure to one spot. From this one spot on their bodies, the spikes begin to open up and combine together until they create an object similar to a gun barrel. After the small drone army had finished their preparation, energy starts to collect at the end of each barrel until an energy ball is created, which is even bigger than the body of the drones themselves, and the whole process takes less than a second to complete The UAVs around Falken launches their energy balls at Mach speeds towards him from countless directions, and as soon as they fired, the drones start to collect energy again.

The Commander’s shot grazed Falken’s shoulder, blasting his sleeve off and creating a large gash on his artificial skin. Well maybe graze is a bit too small of a word to describe the effect of the bullet, truth to be told the projectile, if it hit a couple of cms lower might have torn Falken’s arm off, but luckily for the Infamous Mercenary even for a trained shot as the enemy Commander his movements were too erratic to be followed. -FUCK!- The Infamous Cyborg cursed as he jumped off the cliff wall, returning the Tomari Acceleration Device back to his Arsenal. He wanted to summon another weapon, but most of his energy was now directed on healing his wounded arm, that as it was right now, hanging lifeless from his arm was greatly inhibiting his ability to steer while flying.
Down below Garo had completely shut off his presence, hiding among the snowy trees, preying on anything that came close to him. When he heard the attacks on the others he didn’t doubt on helping them, picking several arrows from his quiver and in quick succession shooting them as he jumped from tree to tree, making no sound at all, not even disturbing the snow on the branches as he did. He was a silent hunter, he was a stalking ghost and he was deeply enjoying the fact that Falken was about to get his ass served to him for being an insufferable showboat.
Following Garo’s prediction Falken was in a dire situation. -Bloody drones with frickin laser beams!- The Infamous Mercenary only managed to utter that phrase as countless beams arrived to his vicinity. The lack of his right arm to complete the steering wasn’t ideal, to say the least and as much as he tried to avoid getting shot, at first managing to avoid some attacks, he got hit hard, with dozens of blast hitting him from all sides. If it wasn’t for his dragon scale vest and his hardened endoskeleton he would’ve died. But this flurry of beams crippled his ability to fly, destroying the harness and making the Infamous Mercenary plummet down from the skies towards the trees.
He crashed against a pine, hitting several branches on his way down, making a shower of pine needles and snowfall over him as soon as his frame sunk into the soft ground. On his last moment of consciousness before dozing off he managed to murmur. -Goddammit, now the Old Fart won’t stop fucking around with me for this…-

Eve's eyes widened as Alex was pierced through by multiple thin beams. "Alex!" She released the wires and rushed to check on him. When Alex wrapped himself in protecting threads, she put a hand on his shoulder. "Alex, enough. Let me out and protect yourself. This isn't going to do it. I'm not sacrificing anybody to get there." She opened up her radio channels. "Garo, do you read? We've got drones on us. Be advised, over." Eve stepped out when the hole was enough and rolled into the woods. She could take these lasers with minimal damage. "Stay safe, Alex."
She thought out their situation as she charged through the woods, letting the trees hide her until she could make her move. They were totally out-manned. Outmaneuvered for certain. The enemy likely had info on the group. But not enough. If they knew everything, they never would have been stupid enough to attack Eve Harper. She slid a blue grenade into her cannon. Her eyes found the stores of warheads for the rocket launchers. Hard to keep up such a continuous fire without them. She fired, blue blur fleeing her barrel at mach two. It would be less than a second between systematic firing and the chaos of blue, unquenchable flames that would come from the grenade when it impacted. Eve danced, hoping for the warheads to explode. As much damage as she could do.

Lying on the ground Alex begins to hum a tone in his head to keep his mind focus on something besides the cold and the bombardment of tiny lasers and javelin rockets. As he continues to protect himself, he slowly begins to increase the layers around the wire thread dome until not even the drone's laser could find a gap large enough to fire their lasers through. However the drones were no longer concern with the gruesome hunter as their programming determine they have already incapacitated the threat. The drones surrounding him split off into smaller groups as they prepare to assault the remaining threats before returning to finish him off. The ghoulish man couldn't hear nor see the departure of the drones, yet he figured out what is happening as he could no longer feel any wire threads being disturbed by the laser fire. Grinning to himself, the resilient hunter begins to pick himself up. As he gets back to his feet he starts to chuckle while also wrapping a few more wire threads around his body. Once he finishes wrapping himself, he begins to move certain fingers, which in turn cause certain limbs to move simultaneously. After testing his wiring a few more times, Alex proceeds to walk into the blizzard before disappearing...
Inside the woods drones are being taken out by swift and silent arrows. Even with their thermal vision, whenever a drone captures a slight bluish red that could match a human being as oppose to the wild life they keep on picking up, an arrow strikes the UAV before it could even get a chance to alert its fellow drones. After a couple of minutes with no success, the baseball shape robots begin to communicate to each other a new tactic in order to eliminate the sneaky threat along with the rest of the hunters inside the forest. Rather than search for their targets, they instead hover high into the air until they achieve a pretty massive orbital view of the general forest area, where nearby drones have recently been destroyed. Due to the heavy snow, they couldn't detect anything with their thermal vision from this height, but that wasn't going to be the case for very long. The drones in unison determine an area where their targets are likely to be inside, to be precise, they calculated the chances to a 99% probability margin that the hunters are inside the perimeters they establish. Once they had a favorable position and odds, the drones begin to systematically shoot lasers down at all the trees at the edge of their area, which quickly creates a massive ring of fire in the shape of a circle. From there they proceed to shot the trees within the ring as they proceed to make a gigantic forest fire. the goal is simple. Allow the forest fire to either turn their targets to ashes, or offer them plenty of light and remove hiding places for them, so that they can strike from above and finish them off.
Nearby the Russian Commander watches as a blueish fire ball lights up the the sky. With a heavy frown on his face he watches as he loses more men. He makes a mental note to personally inform his fallen comrades' family members. Yet at the same time he is also feels a great sense of pride that he had been given the opportunity to lead some fearless men. Offering one final salute to the died snipers around his feet he proceeds to pull out his communication device and order the rest of his men to withdraw from the battlefield. Know that the drones have arrive he didn't see the point in placing the lives of his good men in danger, especially now that it appears the the machines have set up their execution zone. As he prepress to leave the battle, he pauses to survey the spot where Falken had recently crash-landed for a few moments before turning around to see a pair of uneven size eyes staring right at him. Before he could probably react his body suddenly tightens while his body armor is ripped apart. The headstrong commander desperately attempts to break from his bondage, but only manages to cause more damage to himself. As he struggles to free himself, the uneven pair of eyes approaches slowly until he could finally make out a figure of a man with a rather distinguishable hunchback.

Falken was laying flat as long as he was on the snowy ground, he could barely talk, much less move, but he could see the new pattern the drones were starting to take and truth to be told he was getting worried about it, he was greatly injured, his survival programming kicked in and took over the energy management pouring everything into restoring functionality. The Psycho Cyborg had hacked many of the implants he received when he was younger to alter or overclock them, but some of his basic programming was still there, like upon receiving enough damage his whole system went into full restoration mode, or in a weirder glitch he always did the sign of the cross in front of every catholic church he passed by, quite bothersome if he was in the middle of a shootout and his hand suddenly moved on its own, he almost blew his ear off once. There was nothing he could do to stop the systematic offensive of the drones. But Garo was ready.
The Old Archer popped his neck as he stretched his arms, readied his bow and looked at the treeline, searching for the best position to start his counter-offensive. Garo jumped from branch to branch, barely moving them as he aimed to reach a very high pine tree with strong branches, so he could stand on it. -I just hope this works.- He grunted while climbing. The Veteran Hunter felt optimistic, as the cold air was helping the performance of his body, keeping his joints from overheating. Garo finally reached the tree and popped every bone on his right hand just by clenching his fist over and over in quick succession, he then quickly loosened up his wrist, elbow and shoulder and prepared his bow. This wasn’t a technique he usually utilized, but the situation was dire and at least if he was successful he would take out at least a third of the drones.
KAMIGAMI NO AME (DIVINE RAIN)
Garo, in a display of undisputed mastery of his weapon, rained death on the drones, performing an impossible barrage of multiple-shots, launching 5 arrows each time he pulled the string back. He did it until half of his quiver was empty, at least 40 arrows in the air, raining around the drones, aiming to hit them as they advanced. This wasn’t the most precise of his techniques, but he hoped that the sheer bulk of arrow and his usual needle eye accuracy would be enough to at least take a whole bunch of the deadly drones out of comission.

Eve lowered her cannon as the troops pulled away from the cliff. She wasn't going to try to fire off some mortar shots on targets she couldn't see. She smelled smoke. She turned back and saw the dim light of fire through the trees. Everybody else was still back there! Eve barreled through the forest until she saw the light of the flames reflect off of a shiny glass lens. She scooped up a rock and threw it in one smooth motion, smashing the stone through its chassis. As it spiraled to the ground, Eve glanced around for her crew. "Garo! Alex! Falken! You reading me? I need your coordinates. Over!" She didn't dare enter the flames. Even with Suzaku's blessing, fire was her greatest enemy.

Drones with arrows sticking through their bodies begin to drop from the sky and into the burning inferno below. The remaining drones's programming quickly run a series of calculations in order to readjust their formation in order to compensate for their loses as they continue to incinerate the forest below in an effort to turn their targets to ash. As they continue to rain down laser fire, the programing determine that if the enemy could attack them from this high up, that they will need to send a some group to distract, and or eliminate the threats on the ground. A dozen or so drones quickly shot towards the ground and begin to search for their targets.
Without much time, the machines pick up on Eve's location. The drones split off into two groups of six, one group continue the search for more threats, while the second group proceed to eradicate the leader of the Wild Hunt. From what date they have gathered from this battle so far, this particular target would require much more firepower than their other targets to put down. The baseball size objects soon begin to morph their weapons until they each created a single barrel on their bodies. As they gather energy, light begins to shine throughout the tiny drone. A few seconds later, each drone had created a small ball of energy that could rival their own size as they used up all the power stored in their bodies for one final shot. Wasting no time the little machines quickly launch their energy orbs at Eve. Each one moving at incredible speeds, which makes a bullet look slow in comparison, while containing a destructive output that exceeds the Russian motors. After launching the attack, the six drones erupt in a series of sparks as they fall into the snow.
The other small group of drones hover over the ground at incredible speed at they seek for the one responsible for destroying the majority of the drones. Yet, even with their advance computing and analytical capabilities, they couldn't find the location of the dangerous hunter. The robots making up the search team continue to seek assistance from their drones above the sky, but they too could not figure out where Garo is hiding. However, they continue to burn the forest in hopes of removing the threat's hiding places, when suddenly the earth begins to shake again, and the blizzard becomes even more intense. At this point, the snow no longer assisted the drone's camouflage, rather it begins to affect the drones in the sky. As the falling snowflakes hits them repeatedly, their tiny bodies could not handle the increasing weight, and soon enough their formation falls apart. Allowing for a brief moment of peace for the hunters below, with the exception of the earthquake causing the very ground they stand on to crack gradually apart.

Falken coughed, recovering his consciousness, but still pretty fucked up. -What in the bloody fuck is going on?- He weakly asked to the air upon realizing the incoming fire. The Psycho Cyborg started dragging his body through the snowy ground using only his “healthy” arm, as he couldn’t feel his legs, possibly damaged by the drop and his other arm was still healing from the sniper shot. -Bloody beasts… bloody snow… what a man does for a bloody piece of ass…- The Infamous Mercenary kept crawling on the ground, quite difficult to do with only a working arm barely with more strength than a normal human carrying his surprisingly heavy frame. -For fuck’s sake, I’m not coming back for the next one, I don’t care how much bloody money or happy ends I can’t get.- He clearly wasn’t in any semblance of good shape considering he was rejecting possible money.
Garo on the other hand wasn’t moving like a slug, but like an owl, roaming the forest like a silent predator, flying from tree to tree without making a sound. As he did he took potshots at the drones, always hitting different ones and using curved shots, to minimize the chance of getting discovered, always moving and always shooting. Hopefully he would lower their numbers to help the others take them out. -I read you Harper-san! I’m close to your location, practicing my clay pigeon shooting skills and diminishing their numbers.-
Meanwhile Falken, barely conscious only managed to reply. -Oh fuck you sweet cheeks, fuck you and fuck this gig.-

Eve frowned at the responses. "Falken, if you're damaged, stay low. We'll pick you up when we've dealt with these guys. Garo, Alex isn't responding. Keep an eye out for signs of him." In her distraction, she didn't see the approaching drones. Their blasts left their body and a second later an explosion ripped through the forest, dropping trees and flushing out flames. When the dust settled, Eve lay face down in the shallow crater. "Ughhhh... gonna fuck that fucking guy the fuck up." She drug herself to her feet and grabbed one of the drones in her seared hand. She popped open the chassis to see if she could reprogram it to find Alex for her. She could slave it into the advanced Flipside phone in her head if she could understand the systems.

As Eve begins to mess with the hardware of the drone, she will soon discover that the tiny drone is being protected by an extremely sophisticated firewall. The task of bypassing the firewall may proof to be too lengthly for her current situation. However, before she will even get a chance to decide whether or not to take the risk, a small squadron of drones detect her location and arrive from her left flank as they open fire Yet, Eve doesn't need to worry about discovering the gruesome hunter's location as his presence will become known shortly enough...
Meanwhile more and more drones drop into the snow as Garo's arrows find their marks. Each time an arrow hits, the remaining machines' algorithm would cooperate and calculate the potential probabilities of Garo's location, and as soon as the determine the most likely spot, they would immediately assault the area with intense firepower. However, the old hunter showcases his experience repeatedly as he continues to adjust his location quicker than the drone's calculations could follow him. Along with changing up his pattern of attacks, the drones could not use any new information to figure out a pattern, which results him the bots being one step behind their target. However, the drones on the ground did not need to eliminate the targets. As their assignment is to become bait for the units up above. As the earthquake slowly dies down, and the blizzard is no longer as intense as it was a moment ago, they were able to continue to set the forest ablaze. It won't be long now until their section of the forest is overwhelm by the smoke of the flames.
The first to be approach by the smoke is the wounded Falken. As the smoke begins to wrap around his body, a low humming noise can be heard as a nearby drone is scanning the area. The tiny machine eventually makes it way to its barely conscious hunter, and begins to charge up another miniature energy ball as it prepares to complete one of its objectives. As it readies to launch the finishing blow, the baseball size military device suddenly split into two perfect halves. The collected energy disperses into a small shockwave that forcible pushes back the falling snow and smoke, while also carrying enough force to remove some bark from the closest trees. With the lack of smoke and snow, Falken should now be able to easily notice Alex leaning on one of the trees with one hand covering his mouth, and the other waving towards the direction of the recently destroyed drone. The deform man is wrapped by layers of his thine wire threads and carrying a small military backpack, and behind him is another man, who is trapped in what appear be a thick body bag that is made out of the same fabric as Alex's attire. Judging by the snow behind them, it is apparent that the gruesome hunter has been dragging this man along the ground.
"Good...It's you..." he said in-between catching his breath. The Russian commander struggles to break free, but his efforts just result in the wire threads cutting deeper and deeper into his skin. Alex just ignores the man's attempts at escape as he proceeds to drag the man closer to his companion. His fellow hunter will notice that the man is completely covered from head to toe, with the only exception of his mouth being free, which the Russian takes advantage of as he continues to shouts at his opponents. Calling them cowards as he asks them to remove his bondages so they could fight like real men. Again Alex simply ignores the commander's provoking comments and looks right at Falken as he starts to mouth off some words without producing a sound. The reason why he is relying on lipreading is simple due to him not wanting the Russian commander to know what he is trying to communicate. As the ghoulish looking man finishes his silent chat, he reaches into the the military backpack and hands over a walkie talkie once he is sure Falken could do what needed to be done. Then he turns his attention back to his captive and quickly gags the man's mouth.

Eve just shrugged when she found the programming too complicated. She hadn't been banking too many of her hopes like that. She wasn't all that great with programming beyond some stuff she had downloaded on her phone. She casually threw the captured drone at the attacking ones. It gave her just a moment to follow up with a red grenade. It exploded in the midst of the drones, releasing a red cloud of gas that began eating away at whatever was within it. She backed away to avoid being consumed herself. That stuff was straight up nasty. She saw the spreading flames and sighed. This had to be purposeful. They were being herded out of the forest. Who was even left up on the cliff to coordinate this? She started approaching the edge of the forest to scan it with her ultimate eyes. Anybody standing out was getting a cannonball to the face.

Garo could feel the drones getting closer and closer to his tracks, even for a master hunter like himself having to evade a swarm of highly advanced unfeeling machines was more than he could handle. Yet the fact they were drones was clearly something that gave Garo an idea, as he pulled a couple more of charms from the pouch he carried them in and placed on his arrows while he was on the fly. He used these for hunting, they worked as decoys as the Charms gave anything the “properties” of a human. Meaning scent, heartbeat and even a faint outline around them. Maybe this would be enough to make them lose his tracks. With pinpoint accuracy the Old Archer shot 4 arrows, 2 at drones in the air, using curved shots, while the others to trees. Hopefully this would furtherly confuse them as he made his way towards Eve.
Falken saw Alex getting closer and was about to insult him with something in the lines of “Oh look, the cast of the Hunchback of Notredame on Ice came to my rescue” But he was too fucked up to talk, lightly coughing instead. His mainframe was overtaxed by handling the repairs of his body, but he wasn’t so fucked up he couldn’t read Alex’s lips and when he got the Walkie-Talkie handed to him he knew exactly what to do. -Comrades, our glorious mission is over, the enemies have been eliminated and their corpses lie dead and cold, as cold as a night in Siberia, return to base I’ll follow shortly after we investigate their remains. Glory to Mother Russia!- The Psycho Cyborg talked with a perfect reproduction of the General’s voice, with a pitch-perfect russian. He turned off the walkie talkie and handed it back to Alex. Even Falken could admit that the Grotesque Hunter’s plan was great.

"Understood." The last word that was spoken over the walkie talkie just before Falken turns it. A Russian engineer opens a panel near the massive drone containers and begins to type. As the continues to input commands, a fellow solider asks, "So first phase finish then." "Not sure. We must perform reconnaissance. See if anyone else is foolish enough to interfere. Besides, special unit hasn't even reach target yet. And...done." stated the Russian engineer as he finishes his task. Soon enough the drones will discontinue their search and return to their holders. "The special unit..." said the momentary puzzled solider. "Do you speak of-" "-Omega Squad," finished the the other as he looks down as he is unable to make eye contact. Spitting on the ground, the Russian solider begins to reach into his pocket as he pulls out a cigar. "Where did simple days go. Before we needed only superior technology. Now! Mutant humans, and creatures. Fucking creatures! With one fluid motion he quickly lights his cigar and shoves it into his mouth. Seeing the man clearly frustrated, the engineer remains silent. "Who needs ungodly things? Everything would be better without them." He turns his attention away from the engineer as he is prepares to blow a puff a smoke. However, he never got the chance.
The engineer not hearing anything more from the solider assumes that the man had left him to return to his duty. And he figures he should do the same. He returns to the panel as and begins to check up on the certain progress of the drones. As he tabs on the screen, he sees an alert message of the drones still detecting foreign and hostile targets. Yet before the engineer could use his walkie talkie to ask the commander what is going on, or to reprogram the drones, he suddenly fells a strange sensation in the middle of his chest. He looks down to the examine his torso, but he couldn't see anything wrong. For a split second he fears that he is experiencing a heart attack. He slowly turns around in agony as he prepares to call for help. Yet when he finally manages to turn around he couldn't produce a single sound as he is face to face with a hideous black and grey humanoid holding a beating human heart in one claw like hand, and the other gripping the head of the Russian solider he had just spoken with. Without producing a sound, the strange creature swiftly proceeds to bites the engineer's throat...
Eve will notice that there is no mastermind, or squadron, waiting on top of the hill. And as the drones depart from their location, she will quickly comprehend that there is no remaining forces left to attack them. At least inside and around their burning section of the forest. The snow did very little to stop the flames while the massive smoke clouds reach the sky above. Before long even she will be unable to detect the drones flying over the horizon, however Eve will be able to determine the direction that the small military machines are heading towards. Maybe it would be worth going in that direction to discover the source of the drones, and perhaps even find the Russian HQ.
The drones tracking Garo are confuse by the emergence of new targets, yet it becomes irreverent as they receive a command to return to their containers. Due to protocol, the drones send the most updated version of their information gatherings to their controller, the head engineer for this mission. Not receiving any further adjusting commands, the drones simple follow their orders and evacuate the area. Similar to Eve, Garo will also be able to tell that the drones are traveling east, before they are lost in the background of the smoke and snow.
Alex puts the walkie talkie back into the military bag just before he staggers into the snow. Falken isn't the only one badly damage here. Heck if it wasn't for his wire thread suit, he wouldn't even be able to move. He looks at his companion as he says, "How long will it take you to get back on your feet?" The question lacked any emotion, and it is clear that the man wasn't trying insult or poke fun at the injured man. He simply needed to know how many minutes, if not hours it may take before the mercenary is in decent fighting condition. Meanwhile, he begins to brainstorm ideas to help himself recover a bit quicker as he sends a signal to Eve in order to let her know about his current position.

"Ah, Alex is alive at least." Eve turned towards the transmitted coordinates when the signal reached her. It looked like for now the attack force, whoever they were, was retreating. Eve wanted to call up Huntsman to follow them and destroy everything they ever cared about, but in this weather he'd be useless. Even she was having trouble operating at full capacity, more so with her busted up coat. She could already feel her flexibility waning, cold metal stealing more heat by the minute. She was limping when she reached Falken and Alex. Well, she looked better than them. "We're making camp. We'll discuss plans when we have a fire going and food cooking. Any idea why they gave up? Did I hit somebody important with my shots earlier?" Eve asked as she shoved over trees. She was making them a nice barren spot with no fuel. Not burning to death was a wonderful thing.

Garo jumped off a tree branch, without even disturbing the piles of snow on it and rolled down a slope before standing up next to Eve. -I think they’re leaving…- The Old Hunter looked around with some suspicion on his eyes. -This was too easy, they had us against the ropes…- He looked at his boss and asked. -Don’t you think this is odd as well Harper-san?- Just like Falken, Garo was underestimating the resourcefulness of Alexander Stevenson, who orchestrated a plan with the same precision he controls his wires. -So any news about Stevenson-dono and the pile of garbage?- Meanwhile, closeby Stevenson-dono and the pile of garbage previously known as Falken were talking…
-I don’t bloody know.- Falken was clearly irritated with what he interpreted as Deadpan instead of actual lack of emotion. -I got hit by a bloody sniper and then fell into this blasted piece of snowy hell from fuck knows how high and as I bloody plummeted to my doom I got shot by some bloody drones.- The Psycho Cyborg was quite pissed, but it was almost ridiculous as he was laying in the floor shouting at Alex. -So no, I don’t bloody know when I’ll walk again.- Falken punched the snow with his left fist. -I don’t bloody know if it’ll take a week, a month…- He stopped mid-sentence as a faint beep came out from his mainframe.
Falken auto-stabilization protocols forced his legs up and then the whole rest of him. The Psycho Cyborg’s shocked expression was priceless as he looked at his body and only managed to utter. -Um… Or maybe right now.-

"Get well soon," said Alex to a puzzled Falken. This time trying to showcase more of his more comedic side as a response to his companion's attitude about his recovery process. Yet, his tone of voice, nor mannerism barely changed from his previous emotionless state. He reaches into the military bag, and begins to search for a particular item. Besides the Walkie Talkie, there was another useful thing he found on the commander's body. A small map of the area, though many locations marked were written in a code. Making it extremely hard to determine certain locations and landmarks. He thought about getting the information from the commander through his typical methods, but after a few minutes of dealing with him, he knew that getting information out of the Russian was going to take way too much time. Besides, he couldn't even be sure if he could trust any information. Hopefully he, or one of the other hunters, will be able to decode it. It may proof to be useful to learn what is written on this map. He looks at the foul-mouthed for a moment and offers him the map as he asks, "Have any software that can solve this?"

Eve turned to Garo with arms full of sticks and shuffled them all into one arm to point past him. "Alex is that way. I just left to grab firewood. Falken's with him. Alive of course. Don't finish him off." She set off in that direction with her sticks in her arms. "As for why they're retreating, I couldn't tell you. My best guess is they're facing an attack somewhere else. I'm tempted to call in Amai and Huntsman to make sure of it. Give us time to complete our mission and thin their numbers a little." She grumbled as she approached her comrades. Amai especially could be devastating among an army. She'd have them shooting at each other in no time.

Garo sighed and joked. -I’m willing to accept a paycut if you allow me to put him…- He made a short pause and continued correcting his previous statement. -Put us out our collective misery with an arrow between his eyes.- The Old Hunter walked alongside Eve looking at her, realizing what could be going through her head. -We can do this on our own, we just got blindsided by people a bit more prepared than us.- Garo was talking from experience. -We’re going to be more attentive from now on and we will pull through, never doubt that.- After working for a long time with Eve, almost 1 year so far, he had been able to understand his employer train of thought. As he finished his pep talk he managed to catch a glimpse of Falken and all semblance of a wise sage sharing advice vanished from his face as he childishly tried to hide his laughter upon seeing the state of the Psycho Cyborg.
Falken wasn’t fully operational yet, but he was well enough to translate. -Of course I can do this, do you think I’m a lowly toaster? Or even worse, an annoying old man using a weapon that got out of style 5 centuries ago?- He struggled to focus his vision on the map. -Stop moving the damn thing.- He said, not realizing that what shivered was his sight. Finally he managed to focus and read. -The location marked with a 1 is the place where they started the ambush, the number 2 is their HQ, number 3 is the target and number 4 is the Chinese HQ.- Falken popped the metallic bones of his neck with a loud “CLANG!” -Just give me 5 to 10 minutes and I’m going to enter their bloody HQ and rain death upon them.- The Psycho Cyborg was quite pissed off. -I’m going to go all biblical on their asses. Bloody old testament style. The 10 plagues of Egypt ain't got shit on me.-

Alex studies over the map again. From what he can tell both the target and the the enemy's HQ, at least for this operation he figured, are pretty much the same distance away from then, which means that if they go to the headquarter first, it is going to take them twice as long (at least in terms of their travel time) to reach their main objective, compare to if they just leave straight from here. Though he is unsure if it would even be wise to attack the HQ, after all, their top priority should be the creature behind this insane blizzard and consist earthquakes. He didn't think there was any merit going to the HQ, since the Russians are probably after the same thing they are anyway. So taking care of the main target, will remove any incentive for these people stick around. Besides, he didn't enjoy hunting down other humans, at least no where near as much as he finds pleasure in dealing with monsters.
"We shouldn't bother with their headquarters. It will just end up being a distraction from the real mission. After we rest up, it would be best if we go after our target, especially before they get to it before us."

Eve weighed the options before her. On the one hand, taking some shots at the people who attacked her did sound nice. But their HQ likely held their full forces now. And it was a distraction from their mission. They weren't getting paid to take out mercenaries, and if she wasn't getting paid, why use ammo? "We take the turtle. That's our job. Right now the mercenaries will be doing the same. And speaking of them..." Eve kneeled to be on a level with the Russian commander if he sat up. "Sit him up, Alex. Falken, give me a database search. Do you have anything on this guy?" She commanded, sending similar orders to Huntsman on her phone. "Now tell me, are you a good hostage? Will your forces stop attacking us if your life is on the line?" She couldn't promise him unharmed, given who had taken him, but she could promise him alive at least.
