Nodding slightly in acknowledgement, Cadence began to extend the platform out, extending a few vines into the marshy landscape to act as anchors so the platform above wouldn't start sinking into...whatever this substance was. "...we have a raft." Cadence says bluntly to Matt, extending the platform itself out along with making more anchors so there would be more room to walk. Aris takes the other side of the platform and begins extending that out, making her own anchors that sunk into the marshy landscape.
"This place is so weird...any idea where we need to go?" Haruko asks, nodding her head at Matt's suggestion to avoid the antennae. As Aria worked on extending her half of the platform, she turns her attention to Smith. "Smith, do you have any sort of sonar device on you? I need as much information about the composition of this area as possible. And make it fast, for I feel if these creatures won't be hostile, the culprit behind this mess isn't far off." Aria states, remembering the reports Smith had sent to her before arriving at their location.

As Smith arrives at the bottom with the others, he remains quite as he studies their surrounding. His eyes especially focus on the creatures nearby. For now they seem rather content to let them be. Yet, for how long that will remain to be the case he had no clue. Regardless, with no ill will towards the creatures, Smith carefully calculates their bodies in the hopes of discovering clear weak points to allow for instant, and hopefully painless death. As he carefully maps out his shooting pattern should I fight break out, he brings out a device that would serve to fulfill the president's desire. "Here." He issues a mental command, and the small cube shape object roars to life with a small beep sound. The device sends out a small signal, and once it returns, it project a tiny hologram map of the terrain within a 100 meters of their position.

Huntsman just circled overhead, cackling in an empty sky. Aside from him, it was disturbingly quiet. The water was still, the monsters alongside it still as well. Slowly the group walked along the bridge the gardeners created. "Everybody keep your eyes open. I want eyes on the water and the sky here." Eve watched the air, not trusting the silence. She didn't see a hairy hand reach out to grab Aria's ankle and yank her into the water. From all angles, more chitonous hands grabbed the edges of the platforms. From the water, more of the monsters from the diners crawled, this time not a child among them. They clattered and growled, trying to crowd the platform and rip their prey limb from limb.
Marceline’s body was something pulled out of the most terrible of nightmares. Patches of burnt blackened skin barely hid her flesh or the white-ish and chipped bones that pierced through it. Her eye was silently crying for help as she crawled through the rocky tunnel under the gentle and destructive caress of the flames. Arlana froze and suffocated a scream with her hand. She would have escaped that horrific sight if she hadn’t recognized Marceline by her particular eyepatch. The fight at the dinner was a blur on Arlana’s mind, but she did remember catching a glance of that thin woman killing one of creatures that was about to get her.
“H-hang on!” Arlana shouted as she sprinted towards Marceline. She frantically looked through her deck for a card as Sun flew further down the tunnel to check if there was anything hiding in the dark. The Tarot Apprentice finally found what she was looking for, the Ten of Chalices. The chant trampled on her mouth as she tried to summon their power as fast as she could. A bright light shone through the tunnel as the magical cups materialized on the air and, at Arlana’s command, poured a shower of revitalizing water on top of Marceline. The flames sizzled and groaned under the water before banishing into a cloud of vapor.
The burnt body of the Doll was even more shocking without the flames. Arlana saw, after the vapor cleared off leaving just thin lines of smoke escaping from what was left of Marceline clothes, how extensive the damage was. But there was one detail that caught her attention. “What the hell?” Arlana muttered “Where is her blood?” even though Marceline had an incredible wound on her chest and was burnt from head to toes, she was still alive. But the woman didn’t have a single drop of blood anywhere. Arlana shook her head to take that out of her mind. The day was weird enough to stay wondering about that kind of things. For now, the fact that there was no blood was something positive. At least Arlana wouldn’t end up fainting again.
“Hey! Are you alright?” Arlana asked as she turned Marceline around as carefully as she possibly could so that she was facing the ceiling of the tunnel. She took one of the chalices that floated around them and gently put it on the woman’s lips “What happened?”
As she sat there, Arlana couldn’t help but to feel as if she had forgotten something important. And it was true. Even with the help of Shinshi, helping her unlock a bit of her hidden potential, Arlana was still unable to maintain the physical form of two cards at the same time. And now that she had summoned the Chalices… the Queen would disappear.
Dan and Chase continued their flurry of blows, seemingly equally matched. Soon, however, Dan began to gain ground, pushing Chase back. As he got within Chase’s slightly longer reach, his close quarters skills became apparent. Each blow landed cleaner, and Chase took another step back. Dan kept driving him back blow by blow, causing a steady march down the tunnel. With each step he pushed deeper into Chase’s reach, making it more difficult for the larger man to fight properly. Finally he stepped in with an elbow strike to Chase’s chest. The blow tore through the armor and Chase’s torso alike, scooping a chunk out of his body and crumpling the armor around the strike. When it seemed like that was bad as it could get, the armor fell into pieces.
As Chase struggles to deal with Dan’s superior fighting skill, he is didn’t even noticed when his armor vanished, saved for a chunk that barely covers his junk. But If he knew that coming on this mission meant he would have to fight an opponent who was basically naked, and that he would fight him basically nude, he would have just told Smith to fuck off when he asked him to come here. Still, there is nothing he can do about his current attire, but he can at least change the current pace of his fight. After backing away for so long, he decides to change it up once he notices his opponent getting too comfortable with his striking. After exchanging thousands upon thousands of strikes with each other, he knew his opponent had a skill advantage over him, so he needed to rely on a bit of tricky. Thankfully with his healing factor, he is able to survive the onslaught long enough to bait his opponent to reveal a certain pattern of repeating techniques that are successful against Chase. However, the soulless man purposely and carefully played with Dan’s strikes so that the avatar would start to become unconscious of his own muscle memory manipulating his attack pattern. Once he is familiar with the Dan’s prefer techniques during specific moments of their high speed exchange of blows, he starts to make predictions of his next moves, but without making any adjusting base on his predictions as he didn’t want to risk his opponent discovering his tactic just yet.
After a few more exchanges, and correctly guessing Dan’s actions, Chase no longer steps backwards but instead takes a side step after successfully blocking and avoiding all his opponent’s attacks due to the combination of his accurate predictions and further boosting his own capabilities by amping the use of his own Soul Overdrive, which allows Chase the opening his needs to launch a powerful and quick hook right into his foe’s side, where the liver should be. The execution of his strike was perfect and catches Dan off guard as his fist sinks into his side. Chase’s knuckles shoved muscles and organs alike while his punch digs deep into his opponent’s body and delivers tremendous amount of force that lifts Dan off the ground. Yet before his foe could go flying away, he quickly shifts and twists his body around to slam him with a second hook right inside the bread basket with twice the force of the first heavy blow. As the strike connects, a violent shock wave emerges and rips their immediate area to asunder before Dan’s body is sent off with an impressive and loud sonic boom. As his body slams against the tunnel’s walls, the entire structure shakes from their position all the way to Marceline, Arlana, and Sun.
Marceline greedily drank the water. She didn’t respond, just kept guzzling clumsily, spilling water over her face. “More.” She croaked. She clawed at the cup, but there wasn’t. “Fuck.” She was even hoarser than usual, choking from smoke. She felt the earth shake and tried push herself up, but her hand crushed the stone she lay on. Pain unbelievable coursed through her, less than you’d expect but more than you’d hope. It made her unbelievably strong. “No time… for questions… help me stand.” She extended a hand.
Chase doesn’t let up, and quickly blitz Dan’s position as he is still trapped inside the wall. Before the Avatar could properly react, or hopefully figure out the reason for Chase’s successful counterattack, he throws a barrage of strikes at his opponent with the goal of not giving him a moment to breath as he applies continuous pressure. While in a difficult position to protect himself, Dan attempts to deal with Chase ongoing attacks, but keeps dealing with the issue of the soulless one being able to out maneuver him thanks to his prediction system. As the storm of blows continue, he finds himself now being the one suffering from an unfavorable ratio of significant strikes against him compared to that of his strikes against his opponent. Though the strikes did minor damage at best, he is not so sure he will be able to tank this kinda punishment for a few minutes. But he is not alone in the regards of a limited time frame. Chase could only keep his Soul Overdrive active for a few minutes at best before completely using up all his stored up spirit energy. At this rate, this battle is becoming a contest of endurance with a simple question: Will Dan be able to survive this onslaught long enough for Chase to burn out?

Matt decided to walk at the back of the party so he could serve as a guard. Although honestly, he was terrified that something would sneak up behind him and silently snatch him away. It was that paranoia that made sure he payed close attention to the water on both sides of the growing bridge. With such hyper-awareness, it was natural that he would notice the hand reaching for Aria's ankle.
"Watch out!", he yelled out. He also rushed forward to pull her away. But he was slow; he wouldn't make it. His body flashed green and he was replaced by a yellow humanoid dinosaur wearing fancy golden armor. The two parts of his new appearance that stuck out most were the shield on his back and the weird gauntlets with three protruding claws. It was those sharp claws that he used to cut the hand in half and he wrapped his other arm around Aria to make sure she didn't fall. Unfortunately for him, the hand wasn't the only thing appearing out of the murky water.

Aria quickly felt the hand on her ankle, and pointed her pistol directly downward at the hand. Matt's attack managed to slice apart most of the arm, so she changed the shot to a more concentrated beam type attack instead of the normally large fireball that her pistol shot out. She fired 3 bursts of concentrated fire at the beast's arm, all aiming for the spot that Matt damaged. Since it was a more concentrated shot, the fire was many times more potent than her fireball attack, acting almost like a plasma cutter in the current situation. "Cadence, we need altitude!" Aria calls out, focusing her plants to grow upward, allowing herself to shoot downward at the beasts and put some distance between them. Cadence nods her head, raising the platforms of herself and Haruko several feet into the air.
"Thanks a bunch!" Haruko calls out, giving Cadence a thumbs up and taking out 10 of her explosive knives and lobbing them at 2 of the beast's faces that were headed toward herself and Cadence. Wires wouldn't likely pierce these creature's hide, so explosions would have to do for now. Cadence, meanwhile, began to grow the plants all around the creatures, trying to force the material down their throats, into their eye sockets and into their noses, trying to rip them apart from the inside out. Why bother trying to get through this hide when the insides are much weaker?

As soon as the creatures attacked, Smith remains perfectly calm, even when he witness the president being caught off guard. Judging by the acceleration of the hand's movement, he concluded that Aria's superior reflexes would be enough to deal with it. And so he decides to follow the plan that he had already formulated should an attack occur. Within the same second length timeframe that the hands started moving, he begins to return fire. He starts to shots repeatedly with little hesitation as he already mapped out his attack pattern in advance. Starting with the closest targets, his plasma beams aim for what he perceived to be the vulnerable vital areas of their bodies with a clear intention to kill them quickly and as painlessly as possible.
As he shots his targets in the order that would maximize his efficiency, he makes sure to double check on the ones he already hit to make sure that they are finished. if not, he carefully analyses what the damage of his attacks have done, and will simultaneously adjust his current fires in order to further improve the potential for one or two shot kills. While he fires, he also makes sure to progress slowly towards the middle of the group as he would be the weakest one of the group to deal with these creatures in close quarter combat, but would be extremely useful as support should larger foes engage them. During this moment, It is doubtful that any of his allies would be paying attention to Smith's actions, but if they did, they might have found his behavior to the whole situation to be almost robotic as he continues to counter attack without a trace of emotion.

The furry hand wasn't quite severed by Matt and Aria and she was jerked from Matt's arms into the water. She was pulled down under the surface into another world. There were hundreds of them. A swarming mass of the creatures all lurking just below, shoving past each other for priority climbing onto the platform. Dozens swam past close enough for Aria to touch them. Holding her ankle in a ruined hand was Abijah, not seeming to mind her injury. She was in her Gem Girl outfit again, not seeming to mind the water. Nary an air bubble escaped her lips and nostrils.
On the surface, the monsters pushed hard at the defenders, swarming in such numbers there wasn't a spare inch of space. They even got in each others ways, striking one another and pushing them off the platform by sheer accident. Eve could only fight with her fists, her other weapons too destructive to be used at such a close range. She had to rely on the others here. A good deal were annihilated and many more injured by Haruko's explosives, but the monsters nearly instantly poured in to take their place. Cadence and Smith took them down by the dozens, but closer and closer they pushed, sheer numbers carrying them, desire for flesh driving them.

The swarm of creatures all around Aria was a sight to behold; where were all of them coming from? What kind of creatures were they, even? Those questions would have to wait, as the air in this slimy water was akin to the amount in normal water...none. To make matters worse, the one dragging her downward was the strange woman from earlier...just what was she? Focusing her storied light energy around her body, Aria focuses on the platform above and teleports back up to the surface, coughing up some of the nasty water that was in her throat. "...The clone woman from earlier is back! Stay away from the edges!" Aria yells, summoning a vine and riding her way up to Cadence, who was shredding dozens of beasts with her own plant attacks.
"Cadence. There are hundreds of those monsters down below. If we ever want to stop this attack, we need to eliminate their ability to reach us. If you could kill that clone woman underwater, we could make a network of plants to slow them down to a reasonable pace. Can I count on you?" Aria asked, looking Cadence directly in the eyes. She couldn't order someone around if they weren't under her command...so this was the only way. Cadence only gave a small nod, looking back at Aria. "...help me surround myself in plants." Cadence requested, beginning to grow vines that wrapped around her own body, layering themselves tightly in an oval pattern that Aria began adding more vines to. Out of the oval grew two arms interlaced with vines and hardened wood as thick as a tree trunk, and two legs that were made out of the same hardened material. Once Cadence's golem armor was complete, she leaped off the platform and scanned around for Abijah, not making any introduction as she grew out her golem's arm toward the woman...trying to entangle her and attempt to crush the woman under the increased pressure of the plants. While her arm was extending...the back of her golem shot out 10 vines at nearby monsters, trying to smother them like she was doing on the surface...but this time, growing the plants so they exited through the creature's stomachs and attacked other monsters. She wanted to make an underwater net, linked by dead monsters.
Up above, Haruko continued to lob explosive knives at the approaching monsters, leaping up to the perch Cadence was on and tossing her knives downward. Aria, meanwhile, followed through with Cadence's request and grew her plants into the creature's eyes, nose and mouth to rip apart their insides, while firing off fireballs from her gun to attack the ones nearby, similar to the tactic Smith was doing.

Matt cut and slashed with his clawed gauntlets, but there were impossible numbers of monsters coming out of the water. No matter how much flesh he cut apart, no matter how many things fell... Matt could feel himself starting to panic as the image of a potentially endless mass of monsters appeared in his mind. But he couldn't let himself get lost in such nasty thoughts. He took a deep breath through his dinosaur-like nostrils and jumped into the air. He raised his arms above his head and started spinning faster and faster. Fire gathered around him until he nothing more then a fiery swirl in the air.
"Flame Tornado!" He propelled himself into a swarm of monsters, his sharp claws capable of drilling through even the thickest masses of bodies.

The number of enemies didn't even bother Smith's concentration as he continues to execute wave after wave of approaching creatures. He even begin to adjust the angle of his plasma lasers so that he could take down two or three creatures with a single shot. Yet, even he recognize that he couldn't keep this up for too long. The sheer number of monsters would be too much. Yet, what he didn't consider during his calculations would be Matt's Flame Tornado. On one hand, it appears to be affective against the creatures; however, he couldn't imagine that unleashing such a fierce fire base attack would work well with the plant manipulator's plan to use their vines to slow down the swarm. Plus he risk of destroying their own platform is also dangerous. While continuing to fire repeatedly, he issues a mental message to Aria's communication device, "We are going to need a new platform. Preferably one with a greater height." At this rate, they will be either eaten, or force to retreat, and will require the higher ground to establish a better position to attack and defend from.

Arlana had to contain a shiver when Marceline’s hand, only burnt flesh and bones, reached for help. The contact with the injured skin and splintered bones was more than enough to send a chill down her spine and cover her in cold sweat. Still, Arlana pulled Marceline back to her feet, as delicately as she could, and made the Doll’s arm go over her shoulder. She reached for another one of the grails that were slowly levitating on top of them. Without even a word from the tarot apprentice, the cup overflowed with its crystal clear water once again. The red haired girl brought the Chalice to Marceline lips. “Here” she said. Even with the tremble of her voice, Arlana tried to sound as encouraging as she could “Let’s get you out of here, the entrance is not too far away” she added, pointing with her chin towards the tunnel she had come from.
Sun flew up the tunnel towards them, his golden light shining bright in the darkness. “Holy crap!” he exclaimed when he saw Marceline “She looks like a fucking burnt kebab!”. Arlana offered him a particularly murderous glare, which luckily was enough to shut him up. “Come on, Sun” the girl pointed towards the exit once again “we’re gonna need some light”.
“But… what about the card!” Sun was befuddled “We’re so close! We can just leave him escape like that!” Arlana frowned at his flaming friend. They seemed to have some kind of unspoken conversation, or a battle of wills, for a few moments before Sun finally clicked his tongue and turned around. The girl turned back to Marceline. “Can you walk?” Marceline took in a long, rasping breath to speak. "I can do more than that." There was a sound like an explosion and she was gone.
Chase continues to throw combinations against the Avatar with relentless force. As his strikes hit Dan’s body, the side of the tunnel cracks progressively more and more, until the cracks spread further out until they seem to move in all directions and out of eyesight. The weight of his attacks appears to be crashing the portion of their section of the tunnel, but it isn’t enough to collapse their portion as the tunnel, due to the majority of the force being absorbed by Dan. As the soulless man swings one blow after the other, he could feel his strength draining quicker and quicker. However, it isn’t his decreasing gas tank that is bothering him. Rather, it is the fact the his opponent remains relatively unharm. Besides a couple of bruises, there is little evidence that his attacks are causing much damage. Yet, rather than try to conserve as much energy as possible, Chase opts to instead try to put everything he had to finish this fight sooner than he planned. He begins to push Dan’s body deeper into the wall as his fists connect with more power due to using one more short burst of spirit energy.
Dan silently took the punishment, clenching his teeth and eyes. It was a grimace of pain at first, but as Chase’s blows began to peter out from a lack of spirit energy. For a moment he smiles as he notices his foe’s changing into an enervate fighter, and then his simper died into nothing. “We’re done here.” He stepped away from the wall and shoulder checked Chase into the other. A moment later he collapses onto the ground as is barely able to hold himself up. He tries to retaliate with a quick charge, yet he only could run forward as quickly as a child with his shoelaces tied together. “Almost out of spirit energy,” he mumbled to himself. He knew if he tried to use any more spirit energy, he would die. Still, his frustration gets the better of him, and he continues to rush forward.Dan easily sidestepped and swept his feet from under him, dropping Chase to the cave floor easily. “I said we are done. I don’t take pleasure in killing.” He looked back up the hallway. He had gone too far with the woman. Perhaps he could return to help her?
As Dan’s attention is turn away from him, Chase struggles to get back to his feet, even requiring to grab his opponent to support his own weight. Yet, as soon as he manages to bring his body upright, he attempts to punch his support right in the face. He was tossed aside again without making a scratch. "But if you crave it so much..." He turned and raised his hand. Pink energy pooled in it to annihilate Chase. He hesitated and lowered it towards Chase's leg. He tossed the ball of power and it sailed for Chase's limb. It seemed to vanish in midair, bursting like nothing. Dan turned to see Marceline standing, twisted. She turned her smouldering face to his to glare with a lidless eye into his soul. She didn't say anything, just tackling him down the tunnel. He grinned as she shoved and threw another punch. Well wasn't this a pleasant surprise?
The Abijah Cadence reached her arms for vanished and another struck from behind, rushing in with her odd weapon to attempt pulling away chunks of plant matter with the hook of her weapon. She attacked not only the armor, but the vines extending towards the creatures, only three of the ten getting through. Her pace of tearing increased when more arms, each carrying the same weapon, emerged from her chest to hook away weeds at a monstrous pace. Unlike her delight towards attempting to kill Aria, she wore an emotionless mask now, as if killing Cadence was just something she had to do. Thinking became harder for Cadence the more she pushed through the armor of shoots and leaves.
On the surface, things weren't going much better. Eve ducked away as Matt lit a portion of the platform on fire. "What the hell! Limit our space even more why don't you!" She yelled at the foolish digital knight, holding off three monsters with her arms. "Where the hell is Huntsman?" There was no answer as the ranged heroes among them held the stage for Eve. Unfortunately, the explosive blasts from Haruko's knives were also taking chunks out of the platform. "Dammit Haruko! You want us in the water?" Eve shoved the closest monsters back and slammed her fist across their faces, erasing their heads.

"The platforms are wet!" Matt argued with a rough, raspy voice. "They aren't supposed to go up in flames when I don't even touch them." Well, apparently whatever made this place so monstrous also made wood burn easily. So being a creature with primarily fire attack wasn't good.
Matt floated down to a part of the platform not on fire nor swarmed by monsters and transformed into a tall knight in white armor and a long red cape. On one arm, he had a large round shield. The forearm of his other arm was entirely replaced by a lance. "Chivalrous cannon!" The lance opened to reveal a cannon. Energy gathered around it for a second before a blue laser shot out from it. It was thin so it wouldn't cause further damage to the platform and it was powerful enough to cut through the monsters with relative ease.

Abijah's assault on Cadence's vines and golem armor made Cadence shake her head slightly, still looking bored at the entire situation. Suddenly, the vine Abijah was tearing through began to converge on the woman with the strange weapon. Each vine sliced apart, only to fly forward and wrap itself around the woman's body, aiming to entangle the arms, neck and try to wiggle into her eye sockets. As Abijah neared Cadence inside of the golem, for a split second, she could see that there was another kind of plant inside of the structure. With Abijah's body at least somewhat entangled, 3 chutes of sharpened bamboo spears shoot out and try to spear through Abijah's head, chest and crotch. Out of the back of the golem, 5 other bamboo spears rocket out to stab 5 of the creatures nearby. If her hunch was correct, this Abijah was about to disappear...the cells in Cadence's body beginning to shift in preparation for her second trick.
---
Nodding at Smith's request, Aria begins making the platforms everyone stood on rise up above the lake, attaching the platforms to multiple supports on the hill next to the water as well as supports down below. Haruko waved at Eve, redirecting her knives to only target creatures that were only about to get on the platform. "Sorry! Hard to do this without destroying other stuff!" Haruko yelled, continuing her assault. Just how many of these things were there?! At least now, her gem girl powers seemed to be returning...perhaps it was about time to try her luck again.

Arlana was almost launched backwards by the powerful force created by Marceline’s dash. Her hair, caught in a wind very similar to the one blowing behind a train, danced almost as much as Sun’s flames as they both stared amazed down the tunnel. “Ugh, is there anyone in this place that isn’t a fricking monster?” Arlana muttered as she tried to contain a shiver when the image Doll’s destroyed body popped on her mind. The girl shared a look with Sun. They didn’t need to exchange any words. With Marceline out of the picture, they could continue to search for the card. Still, that didn’t stop Sun from glaring bitterly at his friend. An awkward silence followed them as they made their way down the tunnel.
The oppressive presence of the Devil was impregnated everywhere and it grew stronger with every step they took. It oozed from the rocks and overflowed from every crater and trace of the titanic fight between Chase and the Avatar. And that atmosphere wasn’t kind to Arlana. It wasn’t long before the girl was covered in a nervous sweat, constantly over her shoulder and almost running through the tunnels. “Hey Sun…” she said, forcing the words out from her trembling teeth. “I’m sorry I yelled at you back th… The bird cut her off with a snort “Bah! I shoulda known you wouldn’t let someone like that behind. It’s just not you.” He looked around with an annoyed look “I wouldn’t have reacted like that if it wasn’t for the fucking presence of the Devil, it’s pissing me off” Arlana nodded and remained silent, but still sighed in relief. “Come on, there is something up ahead” Sun said as he noticed the fresh signs of battle.
They got into the cave where Dan and Chase had been brawling and under Sun’s golden light, the pair could admire the destruction caused by the fight. And there, near a wall was a body… “Holy shit!” Arlana exclaimed when she recognized Chase and took out her deck of cards, searching for any Cups. “Oh for fucks sake! Do you want to put a fucking hospital down here so you can heal any moron we end up coming across? Maybe we’ll end up treating a fricking mole!” Sun screamed. However, Arlana didn’t hurry to Chase aid. She stopped a couple of meters away from the muscular and imposing man open mouthed and turned around incredibly fast. “A-are you all right?” she mumbled, giving Chase her back. Sun stared curiously at the girl until she silently said “HE IS NAKED!”

Smith continues to fire down into the horde of monsters. However for everyone he successfully takes down, it appears as if several more simply take the place of its place as the wave of creatures progress closer to them. "Even with everyone's efforts, all we are doing is delaying the inevitable. Soon enough we are going to be overwhelm by the sheer numbers," he thought. He studies the surroundings as he formulates an escape route in advance. As he examines the general area, he couldn't help but notice Cadence's battle with Abijah. "Incredible. She might even be on par with Aria's plant manipulation skills." He turns his attention for a fraction of a second to glance at his president and begins he wonders what her next move would be before quickly adjusting his focus back at the targets below as he unloads more plasma laser bullets.

Abijah struggled under Cadence's vines, tearing some but remaining somewhat restrained. Cadence would meet the same empty void as the last time she tried to penetrate Abijah's orifices. All there was was a blank, gaping hole greedily sucking for thoughts. The only difference was this time her glamour was failing. Cadence would see dimly through the slimy water a gaping hole for a face, toothless and tongueless.
Bumpy purple flesh like some kind of sea cucumber surrounded it, only made more disconcerting by the vibrant reddish purple spikes of hair atop its head. The vines going in seemed to just vanish in a twisting maze that couldn't possibly fit in her ordinary sized torso. The clone arms came out once more, extra weapons pulling away the vines attempting to spear her. Her fingers were now boneless and stubby, covered in little yellow pustules. The abomination flicked its arm to get the hook of its weapon behind Cadence's head and pull it close to be lobotomized, but before any thoughts could be properly drained, she paused. Another second and she was rocketing to the surface.
Why?
Arlana was almost launched backwards by the powerful force created by Marceline’s dash. Her hair, caught in a wind very similar to the one blowing behind a train, danced almost as much as Sun’s flames as they both stared amazed down the tunnel.
Dan was a little more powerful and a lot more skilled than his foe, but he had never faced a dirtier fighter. Marceline punched stone walls apart to kick up dust, kicked and clawed, and tried to grab his hair at every opportunity. He lost track of how many times she grabbed for his loincloth and threw attacks for his groin. Still, despite her initial surprise attack, she was quickly landing less and less blows as he adapted to her tricks. In such a barren cavern, she swiftly ran out of ways to cheat. Another broken knee to his crotch and she was batted away into the wall.
“You’ve done an amazing job.” He told her as she slid to the floor, limp. With this skill in mind, she was quite attractive before all that flame. It was almost amusing to think something like that at this point. “Live long, stranger.” He put his hand over her mouth and with a puff of sleep pheromones, her now lidless eye glazed over and she slumped her head onto her knee. He should feel glad that she didn’t have to die, but something was wrong. He patted his chest, finding it bare of a chain. Shit. It was gone. Had it been destroyed in the fight? Had that miserable blond knocked it away? That scumbag.
===================================================================
As Chase lies down in the ground and grumbles in pain, he begins to curse in the dark. “Fuck. Why does she have to be so fucking stubborn.” Without any spirit energy to spare, he couldn’t mind his broken bones and torn muscles. Still the pain of his ruin body couldn’t even compare to the anger boiling up inside of him. While grinding his teeth together to the point of dislocating his jaw, he struggles to get back to his feet, but he couldn’t manage to distribute his weight well enough to get up. Growing more and more frustrated with himself, he begins to pound his fist against the floor repeatedly, only stopping when he hears someone approaching. For a split second he hope it is Marceline. He wouldn’t even care if she brags or bitches to him. Sadly, he is quickly proven wrong when he notices the odd pair from the dinner.
As Arlana is dealing with him being naked, he tries desperately to tell her to forget about him and head down the tunnel to help out Marceline with her fight with Dan. Yet for some strange reason he couldn’t mutter the words. Only making a few groaning noises. He attempts to talk again but this time he didn’t even produce a sound. Instead, he finds the world around him becoming progressively darker and colder. Before long color vanishes from Arlana and Sun’s bodies. As they become various shades of white and black, their movements cease as until they appear to be utterly frozen. “I’m fucking losing it!” thought Chase. “And If You Don’t Hurry, You Will Lose Her Too.” whispered a demonic voice right next to his ear.
Before he could get a chance to turn around, he could feel a massive amount of pressure wrapping around his skull. With his body in its current state, he couldn’t fight back at all. As his head feels like it is going to pop at any moment, he is slowly being lifted up with a gigantic figure hidden in darkness. “Acting Like A Broken Horse Waiting To Be Put Out Of Your Misery.” said the creature of the shadows as he applies even greater force to Chase’s fragile head. “Yet You’re Weren’t Satisfied Enough With Being A Weakling. You Had to Let Your Feebleness Hurt Someone You Care About.” “LIKE A GIVE A SHIT!” replied the soulless man through his teeth. “Ohhh How I Wish That TO BE THE TRUTH.” Increasing his gripping force again by tenfold causes Chase to scream out in agony. “You Might Be Able To Fool Everyone Else With Your BullShit. But You Can’t Fool Me. LOOK UP!”
His eyes shift away from the ground and move upwards towards a glow of pinkish light. At first the light blinds his vision and he is unable to make out what is happening. Soon enough his eyes adjusts and he can see a few feet in front of him an image of Dan standing over a ravaged Marceline with a orb of pinking energy in his hand. No regular human could possibly be alive in the state she is in. He could see her body twitching just enough to let him know she is still alive. His hand gradually extends forward as he attempts to reach out to her, but simultaneously and mirroring his actions is the Avatar with his energy orb coming within inches of the doll’s face. “GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER!” he shouted. “There Is Nothing You Can Do.” taunted the demon. Chase looks at the scene before his eyes, his mind no longer clear as his desperation begins to overwhelm him. “Let me save her,” he begged. “Pathetic. Absolutely Pathetic.” The chaotic figure hurls the soulless man towards the image of Dan and Marceline only to discover the illusion drifting further away from them.
Yet his mind is already trapped inside the hallucination as he could no longer distinguish it from reality. As the distance between himself and the fake individuals increase, so too does his desire to save Marceline. So much so that he finally caves in, and in his heart he pleads to the Mark of Chaos for its strength. And once the Chaos Brand sees the opening, it immediately capitalizes on the opportunity. “AT LAST.” With a horrible grin across the face of the shadowy figure before fading into a puff of greenish smoke that quickly surrounds Chase. Wasting no time, the mist soon forces itself into his body through his facial orifices As the last of the chaotic gas enters his body, the darkness covering the world disappears as color and time once again begins to function normally.
Outside of his perspective, no one would have notice the change due to the experience being an internal struggle. And even now, nothing has change from before his episode save for two things. First, the Mark of Chaos no longer appears on his forearm. Instead, the mark has relocated itself on his chest, where it has greatly increase in size. And secondly, Chase is no longer broken on the ground, but standing upright with no wounds on his body as his emerald eyes glow with an unholy greenish glow. Before Arlana and Sun would be able to notice, he disappears and a split second later a violent shock wave emits from his previous spot with enough force to create a small crater and heavily cracking apart the surface of the nearby area.
As Dan is patting his chest in search of his personal belonging, a fist suddenly makes contact to the side of his head and launches the Avatar down the tunnel faster than the sound of the punch can echo throughout the underground structure. After removing Dan from the immediate area, Chase looks down at an unconscious Marceline. He quickly bites his bottom lip with absolute hatred for the man responsible for her current condition. “I’m GOING TO KILL THIS FUCKING BASTARD!!!” His body starts to change as he rushes down the tunnel in his murderous rage. The marking on his chest alters color to a deadly pale white as well as tribal symbols begin to appear throughout his chest and a few covering limbs. The remainder of his skin that if not covered in mysterious white symbols become darker and darker until he is as dark as shadows.
In the far away distance, his soul link weapons stir and shake before evaporating into different spheres. One being a red ball of flames, the other a rolled up ball made of small plants and tree sticks. The two objects then blast off through the air at unbelievable speeds to reach their master. As they approach the transforming Chase, they merge into a more spiritual form before being absorbed into his developing body’s new layer of symbiotic skin. Not long after that does his body grew in volume and evolve in design to the point of no longer appearing human, but still the hulking being maintains a humanoid shape, especially his hands and feet becoming similar to hairless fangs and paws. But by far the most gruesome part of his transformation would have to be his head. As the bones of his skull expand and rip away his flesh and skin. The lower portion of his jaw becomes extremely misshapen as what appears to have a bony spikes along chin and sides around the edges of the jaw made out of an unnaturally heavy and dense bone material.. For the area around the mouth, Chase’s teeth have become razor sharp as if he has become infected with shark DNA. The area around his mouth does reveal a bit of skin, but but as soon as the exposed skin reaches the cheek bones, his face seems to become a helmet of the same massive bone material that covers its chin besides his eye sockets, which no longer contains regular eyeballs but instead two glowing balls of hellish greenish that resemble and functions as eyes. At the top sides of this creature’s skull are two rather large horns. These horns are extremely rigid throughout until their ends, where they form into sharp points.
As Dan recovers from the surprise attack he hears the footsteps of an incoming enemy. Before he could even see his opponent, a greenish aura furiously slams his section of the tunnel. Causing all the nearby creatures to vacate away from the battlefield as their instincts kick in. By the time Chase reaches the Avatar, he no longer remotely looks anything like his previous self. What used to be a handsome image has been replace by a 8 foot tall muscular monster, who contains nothing but pure madness and anger. This Monster Chase examines the Avatar with the attitude of a predator. It opens its massive mouth and unleashes a powerful roar that causes the air to visibly vibrate and even their immediate area shakes as if an aftershock is occurring.
The creature then proceeds to crouch down and the surface of its skin appears to becoming disgusting veiny, yet what could be mistaken as veins begin to break through the skin to reveal numerous tiny greyish plant like roots. However, these roots quickly spread apart into numerous tiny branches that quickly burrow into the ground. Not long afterwards does the tunnel shake once more and before Dan could properly react to his opponent’s current state, the walls rip apart to reveal countless greyish roots of various sizes, with some roots large enough to strangle an elephant with. The roots then viciously move throughout the tunnel, where they not only attacked Dan, but any unfortunate being within their range.
And once the roots manage to wrap themselves around their prey, they will proceed to use their supernatural strength and properties to pierce their target’s body with their unnaturally sharp edges. Then, once they successfully infiltrated the body, the roots will continue to split up and expand in size until they completely disembowel the insides of the body. Yet, the worse part about the roots is not what they do to the physical body, but instead what effects they can have on the spiritual due to the roots working on a spiritual level as well, they can forcibly work on removing the spirit energy and soul of its target, which then gets absorbed back to the creature that used to be Chase.
Yet, these roots did not just stay around Chase and Dan….
=====================================================================
The greyish roots erupt from the ground, the walls, and even through the surface of the lake. At first the deformed vines are a rather insignificant compared to the current danger. However that notation is swiftly dismayed as the roots begin to expand and multiply in both size and numbers to aggressively spread and overrun the army of creatures. As the roots cover their entire bodies, no one above could see what exactly is happening to the monsters they were fighting but a few seconds ago. Yet, they would be able to hear the harsh noise of cracking bones and painful animalistic cries as they are consumed violently in a storm of hideous grey. But the roots did not just seek the mindless creatures.
They continue to span out into the open area until the unnatural vines begin to touch other plants, including the ones supporting the platforms holding up the intruders. As soon as contact is established between the abnormal plants and the more regular ones, the ordinary plants quickly wither and die. It didn’t take much time after that for the now lifeless platforms to slowly descend towards a sea of grey, where many roots rush upwards at the falling prey, as the ferocious vines plan to crush their bodies and collect their souls.
For the plant manipulators of the group, if they attempt to control the supernatural roots, they will briskly discover that their powers have no authority over the greyish roots.

As Cadence had suspected; this woman was using some sort of illusion to look like a human, but was really some sort of mutant abomination underneath it all. Once the weapon hooked Cadence, she gave a small nod and began growing plants to wrap around Abijah's neck, attempting to tighten the roots around and snap the person's neck. But before either of them could attack the other...Abijah suddenly began rocketing toward the surface, and one look downward showed Cadence why.
Using all of her support vines to hoist herself upward, Cadence breaks through the water's surface and straight past everyone on the rising platforms, attaching herself to the cliffside and sending hundreds of roots from her golem into the rocky surface, then expanding them outward and ripping a large chunk from the cliffside out and sending it crashing safely into the lake below. Stepping into the inlet she created, Cadence continues sending out roots and ripping out large sections of the rock, creating an even larger space for people to stand on.
Spotting Cadence's plan, Aria turns toward the group. "Everyone! Get up to where Cadence is and help defend her!" Aria shouts, focusing most of her energy on raising everyone's platforms to the cave Cadence was creating. By this point, Cadence had made a space large enough for several people to stand on, the space becoming larger by the second. However...there was one other thing Cadence did before starting this project. If any plants remained on Abijah as she was fleeing, Cadence would have commanded them to extend out and wrap around anything nearby, hoping to stall Abijah long enough for one of these alien plants to capture her. Strange...why couldn't she manipulate any of these plants...were they even plants at all?

“For fuck’s sake, you moron! Are you really gonna stop here because that guy is fucking naked?!” Sun roared at Arlana, who was still deliberately giving Chase her back “Well, what the hell do you want me to do?” she angrily replied with sparking eyes. Sun looked as if he was about to blow up in any minute “You can do like that fucker over there and grow a pair of balls, for a change!” he growled, spitting a stream of fire. “I’m a girl, you bird headed twat!” Arlana screamed, kicking a small stone at his annoying companion. Luckily for the emotional and physical safety of the pair, Chase sudden departure was more than enough to catch their attention.
The cave reverberated like a bell struck by lightning when Chase’s feet destroyed the stone, covering a surprised Arlana in a cloud of dust and dirt. The girl and her magical companion shared an open mouthed stare before Arlana recovered enough to shake her head, sending tiny pebbles flying around and coughing dust. “So… he’s gone, right?” she asked without turning around, slapping her shoulder in a vain attempt to clean off the dirt. “Yeeeep” Sun replied. She didn’t even need to see her friend to guess that he was sarcastically raising an eyebrow. “Well, that’s getting fucking annoying…” she sighed, almost angrily.
With their tempers cooled off by the surprise, Arlana and Sun made their way towards the tunnel Chase had disappeared through. Still, Sun wasn’t willing to let that go so. “But seriously Lana, you stopped because of a dick?” he snorted as he contained a giggle. “What?!” She replied, offended “I’m an innocent young girl thrown into this…” “You know I used the same computer as you, right?” Sun interrupted with a mischievous grin and Arlana froze mid-sentence “You should really learn how to delete your browser history, you idiot” The bird added, before exploding into a burst of mocking laughter. The shade of red of Arlana’s brushing face almost reached nuclear levels as the girl tried to mumble an answer. She failed, of course, and dropped her shoulders in defeat as she looked around. No use trying to deny it if no one else was around. “You… just keep your mouth shut” Arlana muttered, shaking her head under Sun’s laughs, until she realized something “Wait, you didn’t tell anyone right?”. Now it was Sun turn to freeze in place. “Yeeeeah, of course not…” he answered, his lies painfully noticeable.
Somewhere on Dublin…
“OH DEAR LORD!” Cian screamed “DO HUMAN REALLY DO THAT?”
“Ugh, you fucker!” Arlana moaned, face palming so hard she almost K.Oed herself “Let’s just keep moving” The girl went inside the tunnel with Sun behind her, his flames trembling with laughter. “You know, we could be moving faster if you used your freaking head!” He happily said, staring meaningfully at Arlana’s pocket. With another disheartened sigh, the tarot seeker grabbed her deck and began going through the cards.
Shortly after, Arlana stood in the middle of the tunnel, staring suspiciously at the Ace of Pentacles that floated a few feet over the ground. “Well… here goes nothing” she muttered and climbed on top of the glowing ochre circle. Pin wheeling her arms backwards to maintain her balance, the girl walked to the center of the disc and dropped to her knees “You sure this is gonna work, Sun?” She asked, with trembling voice. “No idea! Let’s find out! FUCKING HIT IT!” he yelled as he slammed into the Pentacle. The golden shield glowed even brighter and bolted down the tunnel, carrying a terrified Arlana on top, whose screams followed behind them.

Matt hopped over to where Cadence was, ready to fight off any monsters that came after her. Even though he didn't know that the gray roots were bad (they started crushing the enemies after all), he did not like the look of them at all. "Are those your plants? Or should I burn them?" He asked the doll.

Smith quickly rushes towards one of the platforms that Aria had created after his previous one was consumes by the new roots. As he goes higher into the air, he carefully fires numerous shots around the base of the platform to protect it from the incoming grey roots. However, the roots continue to grew and regenerate faster than he can destroy them. At best his barrage of laser fire is only delaying the approaching miniature forest, yet the pace of the roots movement are barely effected by his fire. At this rate, not only himself, but the whole team is going to need to escape this pit before they are completely overwhelm. Their only hope right now is to continue to climb higher and hopefully the roots won't be able to expand outside of this cavern. Though with his eyes, he slowly begins to comprehend the greyish plants, and knew that if their expansion continue to increase in a similar fashion to their current pace they might not be able to leave this area on foot even if they reached the surface.
